Michael Sheen launches helpline for young homeless people

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Sheen has launched Wales’ first out-of-hours helpline for young homeless people.
The 50-year-old actor has helped to create The Youth Homeless Helpline, a free service which is open throughout the night and on weekends, where trained volunteers will provide support and advise and give information on where to find access to safe temporary accommodation.
The ‘Underworld’ star said the key to bringing the project to life was listening to the needs of young people who had experienced rough sleeping.
Speaking to ITV news, he said: “It’s been two years since we got together with a group of young people who had gone through homelessness and we said to them, you’re the experts, you tell us what you need when you’re in your situation with nowhere to go and no one to help you’, and they were the ones who came up with the idea.”
In July 2016, young people in the UK were supported by a range of youth homelessness charities launched after a petition was launched calling for an out-of-hours helpline, and the ‘Frost/Nixon’ actor insisted that the helpline shows how young people who have faced adversity can turn their lives around “with the right sort of support”.
The ‘Passengers’ star continued: “Everyone goes through a crisis at some point in their lives it doesn’t matter who you are or what your circumstances are we all go through different times and we need support.
“The most vulnerable, the most in need of help to see them being able to get a petition going come up with the idea put pressure on politicians in Westminster and get the support.
“It shows what they can do with right sort of support. They can do something that is gonna change countless people’s lives.”
An appeal with donations from Nationwide Building Society and members of the public has raised over £90,000 which will go towards the running of the helpline over the next year.

Deep State returning with second season in May

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Deep State’ will return with a second season in early May.
Fox’s popular espionage series – which doubled the network’s primetime average audience across Europe and Asia – is set to “delve deeper into the murky and political world”, with the powers turning their attention to sub-Saharan Africa in “the first dirty war over clean energy”.
Showrunner Matthew Parkhill – who also created, wrote and directed the first series – said: “My ambition for ‘Deep State’ was to create an intelligent, cinematic and political thriller; a modern-day story that reflects the turbulent times we are all living in.
“This year, we build on the established worlds of London and Washington from season one, and take our audience further behind the curtain of the deep state, introducing new characters and new territories – notably Mali and the epic landscape of the Sahara Desert, the land of the Tuareg people.
“A new frontier for the deep state, as it seeks ever greater profits from orchestrated and curated chaos. The lines between the political and emotional lives of each character continue to blur and we are thrilled to be telling this new story with such a diverse and talented cast.”
Actor Waltor Goggins will be joined by fellow newcomers Victoria Hamiton, Alexander Siddig, Zainab Jah and Lily Banda, while Joe Dempsie, Karima McAdams, Alistair Petrie and Anastasia Griffith will all return from season one.
Sara Johnson, VP for Scripted, FNG Europe & Africa and Executive Producer – added: “Season One was a brilliant introduction to ‘Deep State’, and we could not have been more thrilled with the response.
“We are excited to return to this contemporary drama brand, which blends action and political intrigue with a strong moral core, to tell a complex story in a compelling way.”

Cheat’s Katherine Kelly doesn’t care if its a hit

OHMYGOSSIP — Katherine Kelly doesn’t care if ‘Cheat’ is a huge success or not.
The 39-year-old actress – who is set to play university lecturer Leah Dale in the upcoming four part ITV drama – has admitted while she is very proud of the role she isn’t bothering herself with worrying about the ratings once it hits the small screen.
She’s quoted by The Sun newspaper’s TV Bizarre collum as saying: “You can never predict the popularity of a show and I actually feel like it’s none of my business how well it does.”
The star – who played Becky McDonald on ‘Coronation Street’ for six years until 2012 – also shrugged off the idea that her new role could turn her into a sex symbol.
She added: “We’re not interested for us as actors about how this is going to come out. We’re not thinking: ‘Yeah, I’m going to look really sexy in this.’ ”
The upcoming thriller will see Katherine’s character lock horns with a student – Rose, played by Molly Windsor – she thinks is guilty of plagiarism, which the other women denies.
The situation quickly deteriorates to the point that a murder is committed, and while Kelly’s character is totally against cheating, she wasn’t quite as averse to the idea in real life.
She explained to the Mirror: “When I was at school they were starting to move away from exam-based results and into course work. My course work was more of a collaborative effort.”
‘Cheat’ is set to be shown across one week from March 11.

Offset didn’t want to ‘offend’ anyone with his solo album

OHMYGOSSIP — Offset tried not to “offend anyone” with his solo album ‘Father of 4’.
The Migos rapper – who has seven-month-old daughter Kulture Kiari with his wife Cardi B, as well as Jordan, nine, and Kody and Kalea, both three, from previous relationships – wrote a song on his recently released solo album which details the absent role he played in the first years of his daughter Kalea’s life, and says the lyrics were “hard” to write.
When asked which lyrics of title track ‘Father of 4’ were the hardest to write, the 27-year-old rapper said: “The lyrics about my beautiful daughter Kalea, and not really having a relationship with her or knowing her mom well. My first daughter. The situation was a tight situation for me but I had to step up, like I said in the song. How it happened was a little rockstar-ish, but I still faced it. I wasn’t there for some time, but I faced it, and I’m there now.”
Offset is pleased people have “embraced” the song, as he was concerned he could have “offended” those involved, or people in similar situations.
He added: “Those were the hardest bars, though. It’s the truth. I didn’t want to offend anyone because it’s a very sensitive topic. I didn’t offend anyone and I appreciate how the people took it. They embraced it. It’s understanding the baby daddy’s side of it, who’s trying. It ain’t no excuse if you’re not trying, but there’s so much to fatherhood that even when you try, they try to play with it like it ain’t enough. I was just trying to let the feelings go, and say, ‘If you and your kids see eye-to-eye, and y’all got the relationship and y’all can understand, then it’s all good.'”
Now, the ‘Bad and Boujee’ hitmaker has stepped up to life as a father, and is ready to be the “man of [his] family”.
When asked by Billboard magazine what word he would use to title this chapter of his life, he said: “‘Manhood’. I’m the man of my family and that’s what my whole album is about. Being a man and stepping up the wrongdoings. Taking care of what you have to take care of, which is what men do.”

Selena Gomez back in the studio

OHMYGOSSIP — Selena Gomez is reportedly back in the studio.
The ‘Wolves’ hitmaker could be set to make her return to her music career following her stint in rehab last year for anxiety and depression, after she was spotted leaving a recording studio earlier this week.
According to Billboard, Selena was snapped leaving the studio in Los Angeles on her own on Tuesday (26.02.19), suggesting she was working on her own music, rather than featuring in someone else’s track.
The 26-year-old star made her music comeback last month when she featured on Julia Michaels’ song ‘Anxiety’, but hasn’t released her own music since 2018’s ‘Back To You’, which was recorded for the ’13 Reasons Why’ soundtrack.
Prior to that, her last release was the series of non-album singles she put out in 2017, including ‘Wolves’, ‘Bad Liar’, and ‘Fetish’.
Meanwhile, Selena did recently tease a collaboration with Benny Blanco, Tainy, and J Balvin called ‘I Can’t Get Enough’, though no release date for the track has been confirmed.
The ‘Good for You’ singer has also reportedly signed a deal with Live Nation which will see her go on a world tour in support of her next album, which is being produced by her ‘Fetish’ producer Leland.
Selena’s tour will reportedly include her first shows on UK soil in six years, after she last performed in the UK in 2013.
The singer was forced to pull out of the final leg of her ‘Revival Tour’ three years later, due to suffering from depression caused by her battle with autoimmune disease Lupus.

Casualty’s Amanda Mealing wants Holby City return

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Mealing wants to return to ‘Holby City’.
The 51-year-old star – who originally appeared on the hospital soap from 2004 to 2010 before joining the cast of ‘Casualty’ four years later – also in the role of Connie Beauchamp – and she admitted filming for the upcoming special crossover episodes has made her nostalgic.
She told Digital Spy: “Do you know what? When I was there, I was walking around, thinking, ‘Do you know what? I’d like to come back, I think. I really would.’ I do love it there, I really do. So we’ll see.
“I didn’t realise how much I loved it. I obviously have great affection for the show. But actually being back just reminded me that I have so many happy memories there.
“It’s like an old friend. It’s like putting an old coat back on, and, you know, it’s lovely.”
Amanda returned to Elstree studios to shoot scenes for the special crossover – which will air on Saturday (02.03.19) and Tuesday (05.03.19) – and the episodes will see her alter ego reunited with former colleagues in a familiar setting.
She teased the possibility of “a clash of the titans”, with Connie set to come face to face with Rosie Marcel’s character Jac Naylor.
Amanda added: “Well you’ve got what you want there. You’ve got a clash of two very, very strong alpha women. It’s done really well, because of course, when Connie was here, Jac was, I suppose, the underling. And now Jac is very much the kind of alpha woman upstairs at the hospital.
“So you do get a clash of the titans, which is quite delicious. And Rosie and I, we used to be neighbours. When I was here, I had the house next-door to her.
“So she and I are really close. You usually find that: the two people that are the greatest of enemies on screen are the greatest friends. ”

The Jacksons hit out at Finding Neverland documentary

OHMYGOSSIP — The Jacksons have claimed Michael Jackson was “naive” about children but wasn’t an abuser.
The late King of Pop’s siblings, Tito, Marlon and Jackie Jackson, and his nephew Taj have addressed the controversial ‘Finding Neverland’ documentary, which features allegations from Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who alleged that Michael sexually abused them as children.
Tito’s son Taj, 45, has claimed that the family do not wish to “put more energy” into the claims against their late relative – who died in 2009 – because they don’t want to draw any more attention to the documentary.
During their appearance on ‘CBS This Morning’, Taj said: “There’s a fear to put more energy to it and more eyeballs to it.
“That’s why Janet (his aunt) hasn’t said anything, because she doesn’t want to make it any bigger.”
The siblings stated that they know the ‘Thriller’ hitmaker was not a sexual predator and accused the Channel 4 documentary, which is due to air later this month, of spinning lies.
Jackie, 67, said: “I don’t have to see the documentary … I know my brother. I know what he stood for, what he was all about … People that really know him, they know the truth.”
Marlon, 61, added: “This documentary is not telling the truth. “There has not been one piece of evidence that corroborates their story.”
Taj went on to explain that he believes the ‘Billie Jean’ singer had a “naivete” about how “odd” it was for him to sleep in the same bed as the children who stayed at his Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara, but insisted that it was “very innocent”.
He said: “I grew up in it, so for me it wasn’t odd. You know, I think, to the outside world, yes, I think it can be odd. I mean, I’m not oblivious to what it sounds like.
“But when you’re actually there in that atmosphere and you’re around it, and you’re watching movies with his kids, whether it’s ‘Little Rascals’ or ‘Three Stooges’, and you’re watching these things, it’s like, it’s very innocent.”
Taj added that he believes the accusers have filmed ‘Finding Neverland’ for the money despite them insisting they will not profit from the film.
He said: “It’s always been about money. I hate to say it when it’s my uncle, it’s almost like they see a blank cheque.”
Safechuck had claimed that they just want to protect others from going through similar experiences.
Speaking after the premiere of the documentary last month, he said: “From the get-go, there was no money ever offered and we never expected anything. It was really trying to tell the story and shine a light on it. To give people [who have survived abuse] the same connection and comfort we’ve got going through this.”
Robson alleged he was sexually abused by Michael from the age of seven until 14, while Safechuck – who previously testified on Jackson’s behalf when he was accused of sexual abuse in 1993 – claimed he was a victim from the age of 10 until he hit puberty.
Michael’s fans have hit out at the allegations in the documentary and hours after it premiered, Michael’s estate – who are reportedly suing HBO, who co-producd the movie with Channel 4 – lashed out at Safechuck and Robson, calling them “perjurers” and “admitted liars”.
The movie’s director Dan Reed has defended his decision to air the movie and claimed that it shows the other side to what he called Michael’s “Peter Pan-ish image”.

Kaz Crossley parties with Giggs at album launch

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ star Kaz Crossley was personally invited to join rapper Giggs at his album launch.
The reality star – who split from her ex Josh Denzel last month – was reportedly spotted dancing and cosying up to the ‘Linguo’ hitmaker after he asked her to join him and his Grime pals Wretch 32 and Chipmunk on their table at the bash to launch his album ‘Big Bad…’ at Proud in London last week.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Kaz had all eyes on her as soon as she got to the event and it wasn’t long until she was invited onto Giggs’ table with other music stars including Wretch 32 and Chipmunk.
“They looked pretty tactile and were laughing and dancing together at his table.”
Kaz recently admitted she still has “a lot of love” for Josh and hasn’t ruled out reconciling with him.
The make-up artist and TV presenter announced they had split up after coupling up on the ITV2 show last summer, but the 24-year-old beauty suggest the pair could get back together at some point.
She said: “I definitely was in love, and I have a lot of love for Josh, we have a lot of love for each other, but it’s just the circumstances that you’re put in – you know, you’re living in paradise and you come out and everything has changed.
“We’re completely different people. Basically for me, I just want to have some time to find out who I actually am now, because everything has changed for me, and concentrate on my career.
“The same with Josh – he’s so busy, flying everywhere, doing such big things, and you know, we want to put all our energy into that.
“The opportunity that we’ve been given and the platform that we’ve been given is just too big of an opportunity to just, you know, not spend any time concentrating on.”
Asked what the chances are of them rekindling their romance are, she replied: “No, I would never rule that out. You just never know what’s going to happen.
“Everything needs to be looking at what’s happening now, and you know, I would never rule that out in the future.”

KJ Apa finds fame ‘uncomfortable’

OHMYGOSSIP — KJ Apa finds fame uncomfortable.
The ‘Riverdale’ star – who plays Archie Andrews in the CW drama – has opened up about the negative aspects of starring in a popular TV show and the weird” experience of having strangers “touch” him in the street.
Speaking to ASOS Magazine, he said: “The weird thing is that it used to be people calling me by my character’s name — now people come up to me in the street and know my name. Some people touch you and I had a hard time with people feeling like they can have that intimacy with me. Experiencing what it’s like to be on a huge TV show has given me perspective on people. The attention is strange and not comfortable. You put yourself in their shoes and think, ‘If I saw someone like that, what would I do?'”
The 21-year-old hunk – who has starred in the movies ‘A Dog’s Purpose’ and ‘The Hate U Give’ – has admitted that he has become “self-conscious” since working on screen and finds it “pressuring” having to adapt his style to his alter ego.
He said: “As soon as I started being on camera so much, I became self-conscious, which I never was [before]. “Now I look in the mirror and feel unhappy with…whatever. The fact I have to look a certain way for the show, that can be pressuring.
“There are positives to that too. I’ve found my own style when it comes to fashion. I love monochromatic colours, being in one colour.”
KJ – who has previously been romantically linked to his ‘Riverdale’ co-star Camila Mendes – says that he is no rush to settle down, but admitted that many people his age often feel the pressure to be in a relationship.
He explained: “It’s easy to put pressure on yourself. Recently, it’s been realising, ‘What do I want as a 21-year-old in life?’ It’s super-important to write down what you want your life to look like in five years.
“In terms of relationships, battling between staying with the love of your life or being a 21-year-old and not living with regret when you’re older.
“I look at my parents’ marriage and I think, ‘Don’t you wish that you’d waited a bit?'”

Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams’s kiss confession

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams used to kiss each other on the set of ‘Game of Thrones’ to “freak people out”.
The actresses – who portray sisters Sansa and Arya Stark respectively in the popular HBO fantasy series – have opened up about their close bond and how they used peck each other to check that their co-stars were “following the script”.
Sophie also revealed that many people confuse them for a couple and admitted she can understand why, as she is “obsessed” with her pal and even stalks her on social media.
Speaking in their joint interview with GLAMOUR UK, Sophie spilled: “People always think Maisie and I are a couple.
“I mean, I am obsessed with her, so you never know … I’ve got an addiction to Maisie Williams.
“I actually stalk her hashtag on Instagram!
“Even though we are sisters [in ‘Game of Thrones’], we tried to sneak a kiss into every scene we did together to freak everyone out a bit.
“It kept them on their toes’ making sure they were following the script.”
The 23-year-old star – who is engaged to Joe Jonas – added how the 21-year-old Emmy-winner is her “protector”.
She said: “Maisie is definitely my protector and I’m hers, too.
“I know if anything happened – especially if it was on Game Of Thrones, which it never, ever would – she’d go crazy and protect me … Maisie is my strong home.”
Maisie also revealed that Sophie has got her through many “messy” break-ups and that she suggested she should have therapy, which is the best thing she has ever done and advises other people to turn to in difficult times.
She said: “Sophie knows too much about me to not be my friend.
“I can’t tell you the amount of times Sophie said, ‘Go to therapy’ before I actually did.
“She really helped me through some messy break-ups and some friend break-ups.
“Whenever I’m like, ‘I need help! This is bigger than anything I can sort out on my own,’ Sophie is my point of call.
“I think therapy is so important.
“You should absolutely speak to someone, even if in your head you go, ‘Yeah, I knew that!”

Line of Duty writer Jed Mercurio avoids casting ‘posh’ actors

OHMYGOSSIP — Jed Mercurio won’t cast “posh” actors in his show ‘Line of Duty’ because he doesn’t believe they can accurately portray working class characters.
The television writer is responsible for creating the hit BBC police drama, which stars Martin Compston, Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar, and he has admitted he overlooks thespians from privileged backgrounds because he wants performers who can accurately bring his gritty plots to life.
When asked if he looks to cast a certain type of actor in an interview with Pilot TV magazine, Jed said: “Not posh. So the regular cast we have come from working-class backgrounds.
“Martin and Vicky didn’t go to drama school, they have a very naturalistic style of acting and are very credible as blue-collar working people, as is Adrian. We need actors who fit because the regulars define the kind of officers who are populating the world we have created.”
The fifth series of the BBC show will be airing next month and Jed – who has also penned ‘Bodyguard’ and ‘Bodies’- has spilled that the next season will focus on a new case for police anti-corruption unit AC-12 which is set around two years on from the previous run of episodes.
The squad will be looking “behind the mask” of a group of criminals named ‘The Balaclava Men’ controlled by a shadowy figure only known as ‘H’.
Jed said: “We’ve never really identified them as proper characters. That was something we felt was long overdue.”
Rochenda Sandall and Stephen Graham are part of the cast for the new series.

Melody Thornton used breathing techniques to get through Dancing On Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Melody Thornton used breathing techniques to prevent herself from having panic attacks before skating on ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The former Pussycat Doll star left the ITV show last Sunday (24.02.19) and she has now revealed that she struggled every week to control her anxiety as she has suffered from anxiety for years.
Speaking to The Daily Star newspaper, Melody said: “I had previously suffered from panic attacks for six years and it is always in the back of my mind that they could come back. They’d happen at concerts or when I was on a plane. All of my fingers would go stiff and I’d feel trapped in my body. While on ‘Dancing on Ice’ I did become nervous when there were moves in the routine that I didn’t think I could do. With ice skating there isn’t a Plan B. You have to follow the routine. That’s scary.”
Explaining the tools she used as a preventative measure, she added: “I had tools that I implemented to keep my mind in good shape. Now if I feel like I’m starting to panic, I have a routine that a paramedic taught me. One of the things I do is hold my breath. That helps balance my breathing and so helps me work my way out of it.”
The ‘Don’t Cha’ hitmaker narrowly missed out on a place in the semi-finals when the judges – Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill, Jason Gardiner and Ashley Banjo – chose to save Saara Aalto in the skate-off.
Although Melody loved being part of the programme she was prepared to drop out if it began affecting her health.
She said: “And I always knew that if the show was affecting me mentally or making me sick I would have left. Nothing is worth compromising your happiness for.”

Missy Elliott sent Lizzo a Memoji of her singing their song

OHMYGOSSIP — Missy Elliott sent Lizzo a Memoji of herself singing in the studio.
The ‘Juice’ singer has revealed the ‘Work It’ rapper surprised her by sending the animated emoji of herself singing into her iPhone before sending over her verse for their forthcoming, as-yet-untiled, collaboration using the fun messaging tool.
Speaking to Travis Mills about the song on his Apple Music Beats 1 radio show, Lizzo said: “This new one I heard it, and [it] was so obviously Missy, and I was like ‘I hope she blesses me with a verse.’
“Like you never know, you send it to your idols, you never know if they’re gonna send it back.”
Recalling how she sent her the verse, she added: “She sent me a memoji of herself singing her verse, that’s how I got the verse.
“I got a Memoji of Missy like smiling and then she just started rapping, and I was like, ‘OMG what the hell.’
“I had to hook it up to my speaker system but it wasn’t even the actual track, it was like her going along in her studio so … and then she finally [sent] the track over and this was insane she killed [it].”
The 30-year-old star – who recently confirmed herself as a performer at this summer’s Glastonbury festival – took to Twitter to praise her idol last month.
She wrote: “You are our fearless leader. You cut through the thickets of the musical landscape and brought us to the futuristic, smooth, syncopated land of Missy. We love you, we cherish you and we need you.”
And the 47-year-old star returned the compliment hailing Lizzo “talented with so much sauce”.
She replied: “@Lizzo I thank you so much for your kind words!!! You are so talented with so much sauce! And such a good spirited person from when I met you I’m humbly grateful (sic)”

The Jonas Brothers to release new song this week

OHMYGOSSIP — The Jonas Brothers are reportedly set to release their comeback single ‘Sucker’ on Friday (29.02.19).
The band – made up of siblings Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas – sent their fans into overdrive after blacking out all of their social media profiles.
And now Us Weekly is reporting that their first new music since 2009’s ‘Lines, Vines and Trying Times’ is set to drop this week, with their new record, which is said to be titled ‘JONAS’, set to follow.
Though the ‘Lovebug’ hitmakers haven’t commented on the speculation, Years & Years frontman Olly Alexander just confirmed the reunion was happening after Nick let the news slip to him.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, Olly spilled: “He did tell me they were reuniting and he was like, ‘You cannot tell anybody’. I was like, ‘OK, I’m keeping your secret, Nick’.”
And on whether he plans on getting into the studio with the trio, he said: “Oh my God, I wish! I would do anything I could do to be involved in that. I’m available if he still wants me.”
There has also been talk of the three of them working on a documentary to accompany their record.
A source said recently: “This is going to be one of the
biggest music reunions in years. It’s no secret that things weren’t great by the end of the Jonas Brothers, but blood is thicker than water and they’ve healed their rift in the years since the split.
After enjoying solo music success and taking time to work on passion projects, they feel that now is the right time to get back together.”
The group were formed in 2005 and were very successful, selling over 20 million records worldwide, but a “deep rift” and “a big disagreement over their music direction” saw the trio cancel their 2013 comeback tour just two days in.
Back in 2015, Joe said a reunion “could easily happen”.
The ‘Cake By The Ocean’ singer shared: “Seeing where things will lead us. It’s easy to say we’re done and that we’re never doing it again, but then we both look at each other and go, ‘We obviously get along.’
And who knows – years from now we could be like, ‘All right, let’s make a record.’ It could easily happen.”

James Moore wants fans to stop trying to kiss him without consent

OHMYGOSSIP — James Moore wants fans to stop trying to kiss him and “respect others boundaries”.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actor – who plays Ryan Stocks on the soap after making his debut in June last year – has opened up about the importance of “consent”, although he added it shouldn’t be something he has to tell people.
Taking to Twitter, he said: “I feel like this shouldn’t need to be said, but sometimes I meet people who try to kiss me – and while I appreciate the sentiment of it I think it’s important to respect others boundaries and ask, no matter who they are – because consent, in any form, is so important.”
The soap star later added to his message after getting some criticism over his initial tweet.
James revealed some follower had branded him a “snowflake” for speaking out about consent, and he insisted the backlash “just adds” to the need for someone to open up.
He added: “The fact that people are complaining about this tweet and calling me a snowflake and taking the mick just adds to the fact that there are actually people out there that don’t take these kind of issues of consent seriously and that can be a very real problem.”
Last month, James scooped the Newcomer prize at the National Television Awards for his role as Ryan, and after the ceremony the actor – who suffers from ataxic cerebral palsy – urged fans not to “feel sorry” for him because of his disability.
He tweeted: “Please don’t feel sorry for me. I’m not struggling, I haven’t had a hard life especially not for the past few years.I’m happy. Having a disability doesn’t mean we’re unhappy, or we need sympathy. (sic)”

Rami Malek in final talks to play Bond 25 villain

OHMYGOSSIP — Rami Malek is reportedly in final talks to play the villain in ‘Bond 25’.
The 37-year-old actor is in advanced negotiations to join 007 star Daniel Craig in Cary Joji Fukunaga’s next instalment of the spy franchise as the principle bad guy, fresh off his Best Actor Oscars win for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
It was previously reported that Rami was being eyed for the role but shooting conflicted with his drama series ‘Mr. Robot’, however, sources have revealed to Collider that Rami’s team at WME have successfully negotiated schedules to accommodate both projects, although there is no deal yet.
Although the name of the character Rami will play in the film is not yet known the villain has been rumored to be a blind man.
‘Bond 25’ – which is using the working title ‘Shatterhand’ – is set to be Craig’s fifth and final performance as 007 and it is set to be released in April 8, 2020, after being pushed back from February 14 of that year.
Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes and Lea Seydoux will all return in the new movie.
Lea, 33, portrayed Bond girl Dr. Madeleine Swann in 2015 movie ‘Spectre’, and she is to reprise her role after support from Craig and the director.
Fukunaga was named as the hotly-anticipated movie’s new director in September after Danny Boyle walked away from the project over “creative differences”.
Producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said at the time: “We are delighted to be working with Cary. His versatility and innovation make him an excellent choice for our next James Bond adventure.”
