OHMYGOSSIP — Police have halted their investigation into a theft from the late Aretha Franklin.
The ‘R.E.S.P.E.C.T.’ singer died of cancer in August, but two months before she passed away, officers in Michigan began looking into an allegation that some of her assets had been stolen and though cops identified a person of interest, it wasn’t until after Aretha passed away so prosecutors don’t have enough evidence to file any charges.
Sources explained to TMZ that charges can’t be brought on just the police report as additional testimony from either a witness to the crime and/or the alleged victim is needed, and the Queen of Soul didn’t give a statement when she was still alive.
In her complaint to police, Aretha told officers someone had stolen cheques and managed to transfer $178,000 from her account, but as she didn’t give testimony, prosecutors can’t confirm how the cheques were accessed or whether she willingly gave the money to the person of interest.
The case has now been rested unless additional evidence is found.
Aretha’s estate also have other issues to contend with.
In December, the IRS filed a claim in Oakland County Probate Court alleging the Franklin estate owed millions in back taxes and penalties.
Despite court records allegedly showing the ‘Natural Woman’ hitmaker – who had four sons and married twice – owed more than $6.3 million in back taxes from 2012 to 2018 and $1.5 million in penalties, an attorney for the estate claims they have paid off $3 million and are in dispute over the figures.
Lawyer David Bennett said: “All of her returns have been filed. We have disputes with the IRS regarding what they claim was income. We claim its double-dipping income because they don’t understand how the business works.
“She had to pay for transportation, hotel rooms, back-up singers, musicians. When she did that, the IRS was questioning the returns she filed. We’re going through audits. Returns were filed as timely as we could get them filed.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Carly Rae Jepsen secretly filmed Seal eating “an entire loaf of bread” on a private jet.
The ‘Call Me Maybe’ hitmaker was sharing a flight with the ‘Kiss From A Rose’ star and singer Michael Bolton on their way to “some gala event”, and she has opened up about the bizarre journey with her unlikely travel companions.
Appearing on Zane Lowe’s ‘Beats 1’ radio show for Apple Music, she said: “Fun fact: Seal ate an entire loaf of bread one slice at a time. It was gluten-free though.
“So that’s good… [The video is] in my phone… The way it happened… He opened the bread, he removed a piece, he closed the bread, he ate the whole piece, nothing on it. Then he did it all over again.”
Carly “had so many questions” about the turn of events, and she took the video so she could ask a friend what they thought was going on.
However, she admitted Seal might have noticed her covert filming, and said it was “a little awkward”.
She said: “That’s probably why things were a little awkward for the rest of the flight. Yeah, maybe.”
But despite her fears, the 33-year-old singer thinks it’s “really easy” to take a sneaky video without anyone knowing.
She explained: “It’s really easy. You can take a secret video and pretend you’re texting and you just have the phone up. Everyone’s done that before.”
Meanwhile, the singer released her new single ‘Now That I Found You’ on Wednesday (27.02.19), and she has opened up about plans for her follow-up to her her 2015 LP ‘Emotion’.
She said: “I am writing, I can tell you that. This is the favourite part of what I do and that’s the creating a body of work.
“So when I am in this stage it is like getting tunnel vision. Whenever I am offered something I ask myself if it takes away from the album.
“Part of the process is over-writing. Like for this next project I am already 75 songs deep. I think I am nearly done with that and the next step is figuring out what is the cream of the crop from that group.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Meghan’s baby shower in New York was like a “family reunion”, her friend Daniel Martin has revealed.
The former ‘Suits’ actress – who is pregnant with her and Prince Harry’s first child – jetted across the pond to celebrate the impending arrival of her little girl or boy with her friends and family last week in The Big Apple.
Her long-time pal and wedding day make-up artist Daniel has now spilled that the event was a wonderful occasion and a great way for Meghan, 37, and her friends to catch up following her new life as a princess following her wedding to Harry, 34, in Windsor, England, in May 2018.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Daniel said: “It was exactly what she needed, and it was a reunion for all of us, too, who hadn’t seen each other since the wedding. Snow was falling outside, and it was so cozy – we all sat on couches or on the floor and told stories and caught up. It was like going to a family reunion.”
The Duchess of Sussex’s best friend and stylist Jessica Mulroney organised the baby shower, which took place at a prestigious Upper East Side hotel, and she was given “tons of advice” by her close pals on impending motherhood.
An unnamed attendee added: “It was all baby talk. She was getting tons of advice.”
Guests at the shower included Amal Clooney – the wife of Hollywood hunk George Clooney – Serena Williams, Gayle King, Jessica Mulroney, Misha Nonoo and Abigail Spencer and they all took part in a flower-arranging class with the arrangements then donated to the charity Repeat Roses, which gifts bouquets to hospitals and support centers.

OHMYGOSSIP — Idris Elba is determined to keep his People’s Sexiest Man Alive title until he dies.
The 46-year-old actor received the magazine’s annual honour in 2018 and he has joked he will continue to reign as the world’s top hunk because the title dictates him to be the sexiest man for as long as he lives.
Appearing on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ on Wednesday (27.02.19), he said: “Here’s my philosophy on this. It says Sexiest Man Alive. So as long as I’m alive, I’m still the sexiest.”
During his appearance on the talk show, Idris discussed his proposal to Sabrina Dhowre and how he had to change his plans after his original scheme fell through.
He said: “It was like two days before Valentine’s and I had this ring in my pocket, it was burning a hole. And then Valentine’s came and she had to fly somewhere, so there was a likelihood I wasn’t going to see her on Valentine’s Day. So I made this movie, and Sab was on the set every day. She knew the whole crew. So at the screening, it was a private screening for the cast and crew, and I just dropped to one knee. It was very nerve-wracking.”
The ‘Luther’ star – who has two children, daughter Isan, 17, and son Winston, four, from previous relationships – wasn’t expecting the moment to go viral.
He added: “Yeah, I didn’t expect it to quite make British news and American news and Japanese news, for that matter. It was quite a public affair. But it really wasn’t meant to be on the news.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Cate Blanchett tried to make her children become vegetarians when they were younger by buying them pet pigs.
The 49-year-old actress – who has been married to playwright Andrew Upton since 1997 – has revealed that she made an effort to get her four kids, Dashiell, 17, Roman, 14, Ignatius, 10, and Edith, four, to take meat off their plates by introducing the sweet swines to the family home hoping they would make her offspring compassionate to animals, but her porky plan didn’t work.
Cate told Interview magazine: “I’m quite happy sitting here looking at my unread Proust, talking to you and feeding my pigs. I was a vegetarian for years when my husband wanted to get pigs. I said, ‘I’ll get pigs as long as we tell the kids that the sausages and bacon they eat are from our pigs.’ We called them Benson and Hedges.
“It was this Machiavellian vegetarian plan that I had for my kids, that they would form this deep connection with the piglets, which were very cute and smelled kind of like smelly people. And then I would tell them that if we eat sausages, they’re coming from these pigs. The kids were just totally fine with that and I was horrified. My plan to turn my family vegetarian was a monumental failure.”
Further spilling on her home life, Cate revealed that her husband Andrew, 53, has a pet name for her which she likes.
The ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ star said: “Maybe it should be Blabbermouth? Sometimes my husband calls me Poss, like possum.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Seacrest and Shayna Taylor have split.
The 44-year-old presenter has ended his relationship with the 26-year-old model after dating her on and off for years.
A source close to the couple told PEOPLE: “It was an amicable split and they’re still really close. They still love and care about each other.”
The pair first met in 2013 through friends and after they began dating they split before rekindling their romance in 2014.
Ahead of this break-up it had been speculated that Ryan was planning to pop the question to Shayna who has made a number of appearances on ‘Live! With Kelly and Ryan’ in recent months, and was often spoken about by her former man on the show.
The couple moved in to Ryan’s Manhattan pad together in 2017 and previously spoke of their transition to the city and claimed that every night was “date night”.
Ryan said: “We’re new to New York, so I like to walk around New York and learn all the different ins and outs of New York City.”
Shayna added: “Every night is date night.”
Ryan and Shayna were last seen together celebrating Valentine’s Day (14.02.19) when the blonde beauty shared a picture of the couple cuddled up on a boat in front of a sunset.

OHMYGOSSIP — Malika Haqq has slammed Jordyn Woods for trying to “gain pity and save face”.
The ‘Dash Dolls’ star is unimpressed with the former Good American model, who reportedly told Khloe Kardashian and her best friend Kylie Jenner that she was very drunk when she allegedly made out with the ‘Revenge Body’ host’s partner Tristan Thompson, and has recorded an interview for Jada Pinkett Smith’s ‘Red Table Talk’, in which she is expected to tell her side of the story.
Malika wrote on Instagram: “I’ve been wrong before and I’ll be wrong again but I damn sure wouldn’t make excuses (alcohol) in an interview to gain self pity and save face.
“No one in my life would condone that coward like behavior.(sic)”
And the 35-year-old star went on to address her critics who called her out after an old ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ episode suggested she was dating NFL player Adrian Wilson while he was still legally married.
She wrote: “I said it before and I’ll say it again, I have never excused my behavior ever.
“I choose to believe what I wanted to believe. I was wrong for that. Wrong is wrong. I’m not excusing myself or anyone else. I made my bed so I had to lie in it. Trust I took the L. It’s called being an adult. And I damn sure did not ask a soul to fight for what I believe in or bully anyone else.(sic)”
Meanwhile, though Khloe – who has 10-month-old daughter True with Tristan – hasn’t yet directly commented on the scandal, she has liked a number of posts on Twitter that took her side.
One read: “He slept with Khloé’s baby daddy, and they havent even publicly said ONE bad thing about her, just unfollowed her, so how is that the Kardashians fault? Jordyn smeared her OWN name!”
And another referenced the 21-year-old star’s upcoming interview and read: “I really don’t understand the point of this. There’s no way she can justify what she did.”
It was previously claimed Khloe and her family are “upset” by Jordyn’s decision to give an interview.
A source told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “The Kardashians are upset with Jordyn’s ‘Red Table Talk’ interview, and feel like she should be focusing more on healing her relationship privately with the family or Kylie then talking about it publicly.
“The Kardashian-Jenners have been nothing but incredible to Jordyn and hope she’ll be respectful. They just wish her way of dealing with it was done in a different way.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lena Dunham is the “happiest” she has “ever been”.
The 32-year-old actress admitted she has spent a lot of her time worrying she is “too much” but has realised she doesn’t have to fit into other people’s expectations and is “just enough” the way she is.
She shared a photo of herself in her underwear on Instagram and wrote: “I’ve spent a lot of time in this life feeling like too much.
“Too hungry. Too anxious. Too loud. Too needy. Too sick. Too dramatic. Too honest. Too sexy (jk lol.) I was always sent the message, in insidious ways, that I took up too much room and demanded too much from life and sometimes gave too much to people who didn’t want any at all.
“But something has changed, and it started when I realized: I don’t have to be *for* everybody, and that for the right people, my too much is just enough. My too much also means I have room for their too much and we can take turns too muching all over each other. (sic)”
As a result of her new attitude, the ‘Girls’ creator’s body has changed – but she doesn’t care because she’s in such a good place in her life.

OHMYGOSSIP — A1 have announced plans for their first UK reunion gig.
The ‘Everytime’ hitmakers revealed in May 2018 they would be getting back together for their 20th anniversary and now the quartet – comprising Paul Marazzi, Christian Ingebrigtsen, Mark Read and Ben Adams – have revealed they will play London’s O2 Academy Islington on November 1.
Ben shared an official poster for the gig and captioned the Twitter post: “So here it is – first UK show with @ A1Official as the full line up in 15 years.
“Tickets go on sale Friday! VERY EXCITED!! # therespaul”.
Other dates have yet to be announced.
The band – famous for their hits ‘Like A Rose’, ‘Take On Me’ and ‘Same Old Brand New You’ – started out as a four piece but in 2002, Paul decided to leave the band, citing “personal reasons”.
When it was revealed last year that the group – who reformed as a trio for TV show ‘The Big Reunion’ in 2013 – would be welcoming Paul back into the fold, his bandmates admitted they were “unbelievably excited” to be a four-piece once more.
They said in a short statement: “We’re unbelievably excited that Paul will be joining us again to bring the original line up of a1 back together for the very first time in nearly 15 years.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Offset and Cardi B are “getting to know each other” again.
The Migos rapper recently reunited with his wife – the mother of his seven-month-old daughter Kulture – following a brief split but they are now having counselling and “working through” their problems.
Speaking on ‘The Breakfast Club’, he said: “You gotta go through steps and different things so we can grow.
“Not on the TV though, real behind the scenes, getting to know each other, getting to know who you’re with and appreciate them all the way around.”
Co-host Charlamagne tha God asked if they had had marriage counselling and he replied: “Working through it. Gotta work, gotta keep. Don’t stop…we’re young, man.”
The 27-year-old star – who has three other children from previous relationships – admitted he was worried he’d lost the ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker forever.
Asked if he’d feared not getting her back, he replied: “For sho! Yeah!”
The ‘Bad and Boujee’ hitmaker doesn’t find marriage particularly “hard” so long as he stayed focused on what’s important.
He said: “No, it ain’t hard to be married when you just really focus…do what you gotta do…you know what you’re doing…know it ain’t right.”
Meanwhile, Offset also admitted he and his wife would never move to Los Angeles because they want to keep Kulture out of the public eye.
He said: “[My other kids] pressing me about seeing her and, you know, we gotta put her on private planes because, people, we just don’t want all that.
“I’m trying to keep my kids kids. That’s why I’ll never move to LA. I don’t want cameras all in they face.”
And he explained he and Cardi, 26, don’t plan to include the tot in many public social media posts in the future because they want to “protect” her.
He said: “People got so much to say, this and that to say, and this is our daughter.
“You gotta protect that and check the temperature and see what’s going on first.
“We still will probably not be just posting her all the time because you gotta keep some things private, man. Already, she can’t go to places people know. It’s just scary too, at the same time, because people be trippin’ out here.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz and the writer and executive producer of ‘Bones’ have been awarded £178 million in damages from Fox.
The two stars and the executives had filed a lawsuit against the network over their now-cancelled show in relation to their backend payments from distribution on multiple platforms, including streaming service Hulu, and after the case went to arbitration, the broadcaster has been ordered to pay $50 million in non-punitive damages and another $128 million in punitive damages.
According to TMZ, the arbitrator slammed Fox for lying and covering up financial details of the deal.
The two stars were delighted by the result.
Emily said: “We are so proud of the hard work we did on Bones for 12 seasons and only ever wanted Fox to live up to its promises and contractual obligations. I am grateful that such a well-respected arbitrator reviewed the facts so thoroughly before ruling the way he did. I look forward to the legal system continuing to hold Fox accountable so that we can all move forward.”
David added: “I loved working on Bones with such an incredible cast and crew – and I will not allow this legal process to sour those wonderful memories. But as you look at the ruling, it’s clear that what we were saying all along was true: we were owed additional compensation for our work. Now I can only hope that Fox is made to settle its obligations to us without further delay.”
The group filed their lawsuit in 2015 and accused Fox of underreporting the profits made on thw show.
The network have criticised the ruling and vowed to appeal.
A representative said: “The ruling by this private arbitrator is categorically wrong on the merits and exceeded his arbitration powers. Fox will not allow this flagrant injustice, riddled with errors and gratuitous character attacks, to stand and will vigorously challenge the ruling in a court of law.”
They have already filed a motion to overturn all of the punitive damages.

OHMYGOSSIP — Christina Aguilera gave Andy Cohen’s baby son a tiny pair of leather chaps.
The 50-year-old presenter – who welcomed little Benjamin into the world via a surrogate three weeks ago – was delighted by the gift, a tiny replica of the pair worn by the 38-year-old singer in her 20002 ‘Dirrty’ music video, but with the words ‘2019’ and ‘Cohen’ down the sides in sparkly red letters.
Andy showed off the gift on his Instagram Story and said in a short clip: “I’ve gotten a lot of baby gifts, you guys, but Christina Aguilera … look at this.
“She made chaps for the boy. Leather custom chaps, in the form of her ‘Dirrty’ video!”
Andy then shared a second clip, which had the pop song playing over the top, to show the garment in more detail.
The ‘Candyman’ hitmaker – who has children Max, 11, with ex-husband Jordan Bratman, and Summer, four, with partner Matthew Rutler – also sent the baby a set of diapers with red labels reading ‘Dirrty’.
The ‘Watch What Happens Live’ host recently admitted he would be “forever indebted” to his surrogate, who gave him the “ultimate gift” of carrying the child for him.
He said: “[I] worked with an organisation that helps you find the egg donor and the surrogate, and you kind of package the whole process.
“I worked with an incredible surrogate. She was in California. Surrogacy is illegal in so many states, including New York. I don’t understand why. It’s a voluntary process, obviously.
“My surrogate just viewed it as, she was giving me the ultimate gift. She gave me life.
“So I’ll be forever indebted to her.”
Andy was by his surrogate’s side when she gave birth and “cut the umbilical cord” himself before getting to cuddle his newborn for the first time.
He added: “I was in the delivery room. I had been hoping that he would have a full head of hair, and he really overdelivered.
“That was the first thing you see, the head of hair coming out. And I was amazed.
“He was so alert for the first two hours. His eyes were wide open. He didn’t cry; he was just calm. I kind of have no words for it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran got married in secret.
The ‘Lego House’ hitmaker reportedly tied the knot with long-term partner Cherry Seaborn in a low-key ceremony at his estate in Suffolk, East England, just before Christmas without any of his famous friends in attendance.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Ed got married a few days before Christmas. It was very quiet – just Ed’s oldest school pals, limited family and the priest.
“There were only 40 people – so no Taylor Swift, record company executives or any royals or popstar pals. He wanted no fuss and he wanted it to be something entirely for them – just a tiny winter wedding.
“It’s amazing that he’s the biggest popstar in the world but he was just able to quietly slide off and wed.
“Neither of them were that fussed about making a big deal about it. Cherry just wanted to get it out of the way without any problems or intrusions.”
The 28-year-old singer and his new wife, 26, are said to be planning a bigger celebration in the summer to celebrate their nuptials with pals who were not told about the wedding.
The source added: “Ed and Cherry are planning festival-style party for a wider list to happen at the end of the summer.
“That will be all singing and dancing, and they’ll be able to invite Taylor and their record company colleagues and royal friends.”
News of Ed’s wedding may come as a surprise to his friends Rudimental – who he collaborated with on ‘Bloodstream’ and ‘Lay It All On Me’ – as just a few weeks ago they laughed off speculation he had already tied the knot and insisted the couple’s big day wouldn’t take place until later this year.
Band member Piers Aggett said: “We did get an invite to the wedding an I am looking forward to it.
“He had to invite us after we said we’ll crash it, we’ll have a drink with him and celebrate his amazing day.”
And his bandmate Kesi Dryden even suggested they could DJ for the couple.
He added: “There’s no way that we are going to the wedding and we won’t be DJing.
“He hasn’t asked, it’s just what happens at some point.
“I’m pretty sure it will be fun. Ed’s got a lot of friends and he’s a nice guy.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikki Sixx opted against having his vasectomy reversed in order to conceive his fifth child.
The Motley Crue rocker’s wife Courtney Bingham is expecting a baby girl and he explained how he opted to undergo an uncomfortable sperm-retrieval procedure and then his spouse had artificial insemination in order to get pregnant.
He said: “They just had to take it out of me – that’s no party getting your [testicles] cut open.
“Getting your [testicles] cut open is like being in Motley Crue in 1987 [when we partied too hard]. It’s the same feeling. But now she’s pregnant, and we’re super excited.”
The 60-year-old musician – who already has Gunner, 27, Storm, 24, and Decker, 23, with first wife Brandi Brandt and Frankie-Jean, 17, with second spouse Donna D’Errico – admitted he and Courtney felt the vasectomy reversal would involve them taking “shots in the dark, hoping she gets pregnant.”
And as Nikki was also busy touring and working on a stage production, he felt timing was vital.
He told USA Today newspaper: “I was like, ‘It really needs to be more planned out because I want to be here for my wife, and I want to be here for everything.”
The ‘Girls Girls Girls’ hitmaker opted to have the vasectomy after divorcing Donna in 2007.
He said: “I was once married to someone named Satan, and I said, ‘I’m not going to live the rest of my life in court fighting over child support, so I don’t ever want to do this again.’ ”
However, Nikki had a change of heart after meeting 33-year-old Courtney, who he wed in 2014.
He said: “I remember thinking, ‘I miss those days, I miss being a dad.’
“I didn’t have a father, and I always loved being a father. It’s an itch I can’t scratch. My kids are older, and I have a great relationship with them.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift will receive the Tour of the Year award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards next month.
The ‘Gorgeous’ hitmaker will attend the ceremony at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theatre on March 14, and according to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, she’ll receive an accolade to mark the success of her ‘Reputation’ stadium concert series.
The tour – which grossed $266 million – sold over two million tickets in the US, making it the highest-selling US tour in history and broke Taylor’s own record for highest-grossing tour by a woman.
The show will be Taylor’s first appearance at an awards ceremony since the Golden Globes in January because she skipped the Grammy Awards to join boyfriend Joe Alwyn at a BAFTAs party instead.
It was previously announced Alicia Keys, Ariana Grande, Halsey, Garth Brooks, John Legend and Kacey Musgraves will all perform at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Meanwhile, Taylor sparked speculation she is set to announce details of her seventh album earlier this week after she posted a series of cryptic images on her social media profiles alluding to the number seven, including one of her sat on the seventh step of a spiral staircase and a graphic of seven palm trees with a starry blue sky.
The 29-year-old pop superstar simply captioned the tree artwork with seven palm tree emojis, and added a pink heart to her stair picture, which also featured a piano on display.
It’s also been pointed out that seven weeks from when the post was shared, on Sunday (24.02.19), will be Palm Sunday (14.04.19), suggesting a potential release date for new music.
In November, Taylor signed a global recording agreement with Universal Music Group.
The multi-year agreement sees UMG act as the exclusive worldwide recorded music partner for Swift, whilst UMG’s Republic Records will serve as her label partner in America.
Taylor’s last record was 2017’s ‘Reputation’, which was followed by the ‘Reputation World Tour’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Blac Chyna has demanded Ryan Seacrest hand over personal emails he exchanged with Rob Kardashian’s family.
The 30-year-old star has taken legal action against her former fiance’s mother, Kris Jenner, sister Khloe Kardashian and half-sister Kylie Jenner as she claimed they interfered with her reality show ‘Rob & Chyna’, ultimately causing it to be cancelled.
And according to court documents obtained by The Blast, Chyna wants to grill Ryan under oath during a deposition as part of the legal row, but claims the ‘Rob & Chyna’ executive producer has so far refused.
The former make-up artist – who has two-year-old daughter Dream with Rob and son King Cairo, six, with ex-boyfriend Tyga – believes Ryan has evidence that will help her build her case against the family wants the E! presenter to be sanctioned and ordered to be deposed as soon as possible.
In addition, Chyna is requesting all communications between Khloe, Kylie, Kim Kardashian West and Ryan about ‘Rob & Chyna’, as well as documents relating to the renewal of the series, records of meetings between the quartet about cancelling her show and all information about the origins of the Kylie Cosmetics founder’s own programme, ‘Life of Kylie’.
Chyna previously accused the family of trying to destroy her career.
Her court documents stated: “The unwritten rule no one told (her) when she began her relationship with Kardashian is that the entire family will come after you if you leave, using their fame, wealth and power to take you down, including getting your television show cancelled (despite great ratings), spreading lies about you, and even funding a bogus lawsuit about a crumbled gingerbread house.”
The outspoken star also claimed E! were pushing for a second series of ‘Rob & Chyna’ because they felt their break-up would offer more dramatic television.
Her lawsuit stated: “Reality television thrives on colourful personalities engaging in conflict. If anything, the E! network saw more potential in a second season given the success of season one and the new, unpredictable co-parenting relationship between Chyna and Rob.”
