Olivia Colman got in shape with Dalton Wong

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Colman has been following a new exercise regime for the past year which helped her look her best on the red carpet during awards season.
The 42-year-old British thespian was named Best Actress at the Oscars last weekend, the latest in a host of prizes she has been given for her performance as English monarch Queen Anne in period comedy ‘The Favourite’.
Olivia started a new fitness and diet plan with celebrity trainer Dalton Wong to get her weight under control due to it having to fluctuate for different roles and the exercise expert is very proud of what she has achieved.
Speaking to Vogue UK, Dalton – who is a renowned Hollywood trainer and the founder of Twenty Two Training – said: “I started working with Olivia about a year ago. She wanted to be fitter and healthier for her role in [‘The Crown’] but had put on weight for Queen Anne in ‘The Favourite’. As she’d had to get bigger for the role, she wasn’t the weight she naturally should be so wanted to get back to herself.
“She hadn’t really done a lot of exercise so, as I do with all my clients, I took a balanced approach to her lifestyle and training so that it was sustainable and not extreme. This meant that not only was she exercising but she was recovering properly and eating sustainably. She heard about us through some of her co-stars on ‘The Favourite’ who explained our holistic, sustainable approach to diet and exercise which would help with her next job, help her in her everyday life and – which none of us knew at the time – was going to help her with awards season. So she started training two to three times a week with me.”
Dalton – who previously trained Jennifer Lawrence for her role in ‘X-Men’ and Gwendoline Christie ahead of her appearance in ‘Game of Thrones’ – also revealed that he keeps his gym and diet plans “consistent” and “sustainable” and doesn’t omit any food or drink groups which would make them too difficult for his clients to follow.
He added: “My way of training isn’t a secret. It’s about being consistent and sustainable. In Olivia’s BAFTA acceptance speech she said she was going to get drunk after the ceremony. So giving her and all my clients a lifestyle where they can still have fun but excel at their job is about teaching them the best lifestyle tips.
“Which is a complete diet of protein, carbs and fats and a moderate amount of alcohol. It’s about educating my client about what they are putting in to have a positive but sustainable result.”

Ariana Grande defends herself over Manchester Pride criticism

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande has defended herself from backlash over her Manchester Pride headline show.
The 25-year-old singer is set to return to the UK city two years after the terror attack that claimed the lives of 22 people at her concert, and she has opened up about the love she has for the LGBTQ community.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote: “The LGBTQ community has been so special to me and supportive throughout my entire career. The relationships i have with my LGBTQ fans, friends, and family make me so so happy. “I want to celebrate and support this community, regardless of my identity or how people label me. and also i wanna visit a city that means so much to me. LGBTQ representation is incredibly important, and I’m always proud to share the stage with LGBTQ artists!
“Over the years, pride events have been headlined by performers and artists of all sexual orientations and genders, including straight allies like Cher and Kylie Minogue. i do think there’s room for us to talk about these issues without equating a performance *for* an LGBTQ audience with exploitation of the LGBTQ community. (sic)”
The ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ hitmaker was announced this week as a performer at the top of the bill for the event, and while she “respects” people who don’t think she deserves the spot, she is determined to “celebrate” with the community rather than being a poster girl for the “movement”.
She added: “If you truly feel like i didn’t deserve to be offered this spot, I respect that. But i did accept it excitedly and gratefully. I’m not claiming to be the hero of the community or the face of the LGBTQ rights movement – I just wanna put on a show that makes my LGBTQ fans feel special and celebrated and supported. That’s all I wanna do.”

Hollyoaks star Malique Thompson-Dwyer was ‘rusty’ after I’m A Celeb break

OHMYGOSSIP — Malique Thompson-Dwyer felt “rusty” when he got back on set after a break from ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 21-year-old actor spent some time away from the Channel 4 last year as he jetted to the jungle for ITV’s ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’, and he admitted it was difficult to immediately “settle” back into his day job.
Speaking to Inside Soap, he said: “When I first came back on set, I was a bit rusty with my acting! I don’t know why, but when I returned for my first scene, I felt as if I’d been out of work for ages. I’ve settled in again now, though.”
Despite not being able to slip right back into the groove on set, Malique – who is still in touch with former camp mates like Harry Redknapp and Emily Atack – insisted it was an amazing experience worth taking a break for.
He added: “The whole experience was so good. There were ups and downs, and most of the time I was just really hungry! It’s one of those amazing opportunities that you rarely come across.”
While the actor himself has had a nice time away from the show, his character Prince McQueen fleed down south after finding out his wife Lily – played by Lauren McQueen – wanting to leave him.
He heads back to the village without realising she has been rekindling her romance with his best friend Romeo Quinn (Owen Warner) behind his back, and while Prince won’t react well when he discovers the affair, Malique thinks he is “better” for her.
He said: “Prince is better for Lily. I mean, Romeo and Lily have a lot in comon and they’re both really clever, but Prince is the one who makes Lily Happy.
“He’s just such a charmer! All Prince cares about now is getting Lily back, and get one over on Romeo.”

Kate Oates won’t bring back EastEnders favourites for a nostalgia hit

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘EastEnders’ boss Kate Oates won’t bring back more characters for the sake of nostalgia.
The BBC soap’s senior executive producer has already plotted comebacks for the likes of Sean Slater (Ron Kazinsky) and Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold), but she has insisted any possible returns have to be able to add something to the stories in Albert Square.
Asked about any more comebacks, she told the Express.co.uk: “No, I think we might be done for now.”
Adding that her plan isn’t to “simply” bring back lots of big stars, she explained: “No it isn’t actually, because we’ve got some awesome new castings. So I only want to bring back people who can bring me oodles and oodles of story.
“I want people who earn their keep, who are exciting to watch. I want people who can have big impacts on all the family.
“They’re the people I want to bring back. I don’t want to bring back people for bringing back’s sake – it has to earn it.”
Her comments follow Walford legend Roos Kemp – who played hard man Grant Mitchell on the soap – admitting he would be tempted by a return of his own.
She recently said: “Everybody is saying how fantastic [Kate] is and I would love to meet her and have a chat.
“But it’s down to her, not me. It’s always a big undertaking working on a soap, but you would never say never.”
Meanwhile, it was confirmed last month that Ben Mitchell – who was last portrayed by Harry Reid – will be recast for the sixth time with Max Bowden stepping into the role.
Before Harry took on the role of Ben, the character was played by Joshua Pascoe from 2010 to 2012 after he replaced Charlie Jones, who starred as Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) son from 2006 to 2010.
Matthew Silver first starred as the character when he was just a baby from 1996 to 1998, and Morgan Whittle had the part from 1999 to 2001.

Geri Horner was sold on Spice Girls reunion by Emma Bunton

OHMYGOSSIP — Geri Horner has revealed Emma Bunton convinced her to reform the Spice Girls for a reunion tour by saying how great it would be for their children to see them on stage.
Geri – who has two children, daughter Bluebell, 12, and son Montague, two – was sold the idea of the upcoming summer shows by her pal Emma, who has sons Beau, 11, and Tate, seven, who told her bandmates the ‘Spice Kids’ needed to see their mums perform again.
In an interview on ‘The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show’ on Thursday (28.02.19), Geri said: “We were in Mel C’s kitchen and Emma went, ‘I really want my children to see me doing it.’ Obviously, it was the fans. But it touched my heart and I thought, ‘Oh my God, yes, we’ve got to make it happen.’ ”
Although the ‘Stop’ hitmaker is super-excited about her daughter Bluebell seeing her as Ginger Spice, Bluebell doesn’t want her mother to be away from home for such a long time when the ‘Spice World’ tour kicks off on May 24, 2019 at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland.
Geri, 46, said: “Bluebell, said to me, ‘I don’t want you to! I don’t want to you leave!’ But you know it’s that thing where you wanna be with your children but you wanna do some work as well and be your own self…”
The singer also made a point to congratulate Zoe for doing so well on her new radio show, insisting that she epitomises the Spice Girls’ slogan “girl power”.
Geri said: “I just want to say well done to Zoe, we’re so proud of you, you’ve absolutely owned this show. You took over from Chris (Evans) on BBC Radio 1 and now you’ve done it again on BBC Radio 2. That is girl power!”

ITV axes Change Your Tune, Our Shirley Valentine Summer and The Big Audition

OHMYGOSSIP — ITV has axed ‘Change Your Tune’, ‘Our Shirley Valentine Summer’ and ‘The Big Audition’ following poor ratings.
The prime time shows have been all been cancelled after just one series due to “embarrassing” ratings, and being beaten in viewer numbers by some of the BBC’s low-budget shows, including ‘The Big Painting Challenge’ and ‘Eat Well For Less’.
A TV source told The Sun Online: “At one point the three shows were hailed as exciting new entertainment formats for ITV.
“However, they’ve all proven to be quite the opposite and saw ratings drop week on week. So they decided it’s not worth throwing any more money at them. It’s pretty embarrassing given how much they were bigged up.”
‘Change Your Tune’, which saw people who could not sing try and transform their voice through rigorous training, fared the worst in viewer numbers as it only drew in 300,000 people in its final episode.
This was followed by 700,000 watchers for ‘The Big Audition’, which saw the general public take part in real-life auditions for their dream job, and 1.8 million viewers tuned in for ‘Our Shirley Valentine Summer’, where eight female celebrities – including Lizzie Cundy and Melinda Messenger – traveled to Greece in a bid to find love.
ITV executive Carolyn McCall admitted on Wednesday (28.02.19): “While overall our schedule is performing strongly, not all our programmes performed as we had hoped so some, for example ‘Change Your Tune’, ‘Our Shirley Valentine Summer’ and ‘The Big Audition’, will not return.”
This news comes as ITV previously announced it had axed it’s long-running comedy sitcoms ‘Birds of a Feather’, ‘Bad Move’ and ‘Benidorm’.
Kevin Lygo, ITV’s Director of Television, said: “We had success with ‘Birds of a Feather’, that was our most successful sitcom in years, but it’s come to a sort of natural end.”

Ukraine out of Eurovision Song Contest 2019

OHMYGOSSIP — Ukraine has pulled out of the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ 2019 after their contestant quit the show.
Pop singer Maruv – who won the country’s public vote with her track ‘Siren Song’ – dropped out of the competition following a row with the national broadcaster after it imposed certain clauses, including a ban on concerts in Russia.
The 27-year-old singer was asked to sign a contract stating she would not play concerts in Russia in the lead-up to the contest, but Maruv – who’s real name Anna Korsun – explained that although she was willing to accept this condition, the other rules would have made her a spokesperson for propaganda.
Broadcaster UA:PBC said in a statement: “Given the current situation, and following Ukrainian law on public broadcasting, as well as conditions of excessive politicisation of the national selection process, UA:PBC has decided to withdraw from the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest.”
Writing on Facebook, Maruv insisted that she is simply a “musician” rather than “a bat” at the “political stage”.
She wrote: “I am a citizen of Ukraine, pay taxes and sincerely love Ukraine. But I am not ready to address [people] with slogans, turning my participation in the contest into the promotion of our politicians. I am a musician, rather than a bat at the political stage.
“I sincerely thank and appreciate everyone who believed in me and voted. I ask you to accept this situation and not to take a confrontational path.”
Other contestants, who had competed to represent Kiev in the annual singing contest – were invited to replace Maruv, however, they were all unwilling to step in.
Runner-up dance act Kazka, wrote on their Instagram page: “We would have been honoured to represent Ukraine. But we do not need a win at any price. Our mission is to unite people with music, not to sow discord.”

Kevin Feige confirms Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will use James Gunn’s script

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Feige has confirmed that ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ will use James Gunn’s script.
The President of Marvel Studios has revealed the film will be based on the story created by 52-year-old Gunn, who wrote and directed the first two films in the Marvel sci-fi series before he was fired by Disney following the emergence of old offensive Twitter posts in which he joked about paedophilia, homophobia and rape.
The third installment of the ‘Guardians’ trilogy was originally intended to start production in early 2019 however the 45-year-old producer has revealed that other than knowing they will use Gunn’s script he doesn’t know when filming will begin because Marvel has been “focusing on other projects”.
Speaking to Collider, Feige said: “I mean, when it was pushed back, it was pushed back. Meaning the release date, because it’s not coming out – although we’ve never announced a release date actually – but it was gonna happen sooner rather than later, initially of course.
“Outside of knowing that we’re gonna use [James Gunn’s] draft, [we have] been focusing on other projects.”
It is known that Adam McKay has held talks about directing the next film, however, he hasn’t said whether he will take on the job or not.
The ‘Anchorman’ director said: “We’ve talked a little bit. We’re always kind of talking. I think Feige is just the greatest and I think what they’re doing is amazing.”
McKay has also admitted his dream Marvel project would be to make a standalone Silver Surfer movie.
He previously said: “Silver Surfer is the one I want to do, man.
“I would do anything to do Silver Surfer, because visually that would just be … you could do what the Wachowskis did with ‘Speed Racer’ with The Silver Surfer. At the same time, there’s a great emotional story in there, where the guy has to make the choice to save his planet.”

Shayna Taylor ‘wanted more out of relationship’ with Ryan Seacrest

OHMYGOSSIP — Shayna Taylor “wanted more” out of her “three year relationship” to Ryan Seacrest but he “wasn’t ready” for marriage.
It was announced on Wednesday (27.02.19) that the 26-year-old model and 44-year-old presenter’s relationship was over and now a source close to Shayna has revealed she was ready to take the “natural next step” and tie the knot with Ryan but he was not prepared to make that commitment.
The source told PEOPLE: “After three years together, Shayna wanted more out of the relationship. It felt like the natural next step for her. She was ready to get married, but Ryan wasn’t there yet.”
Shayna and Ryan are still on good terms despite the break-up and still care for one another.
A second source added: “Ryan and Shayna have always cared deeply about each other and had and have a wonderful relationship. But it got to a point where it made more sense to break up. It had just run its course. But they are still very close.”
The pair first met in 2013 through friends and after they began dating they split before rekindling their romance in 2014.
Ahead of this break-up it had been speculated that Ryan was planning to pop the question to Shayna who has made a number of appearances on ‘Live! With Kelly and Ryan’ in recent months, and was often spoken about by her former man on the show.
The couple moved in to Ryan’s Manhattan pad together in 2017 and previously spoke of their transition to the city and claimed that every night was “date night”.
Ryan said: “We’re new to New York, so I like to walk around New York and learn all the different ins and outs of New York City.”
Shayna added: “Every night is date night.”

Sasha Lane won’t label her sexuality

OHMYGOSSIP — Sasha Lane says she “loves who she loves” when it comes to relationships and she won’t label her sexuality.
The 23-year-old actress will not give a name to her sexual preferences because she chooses to date whoever her “heart wants”, however, she added that her brother Sergio Darcy is “definitely” gay.
In an interview with ASOS magazine, she said: “I don’t know what the terms all mean. It was around Sundance and apparently, I came out and they were switching up the words queer and gay.
“If my heart wants it, my heart wants it. That’s been with anyone. I love who I love or like what I like. My brother though is definitely not about the vagina. There’s a respect but he’s not here for it!”
Sasha’s sexuality stance would be considered to be pansexual, which refers to a person that is not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender or gender identity.
As for what she looks for in a partner, the ‘American Honey’ star believes has already “found this person” and they are someone who is comfortable in “their space”.
Sasha – who has been open about her mental health issues – said: “I know I have found this person … but I don’t necessarily want to say who. I need a person who can feel good in their space as well as I do in my space. I’m so protective of my space that hardly anyone gets in besides my brother. Sometimes I feel guilt about how I am, and my mind, and how I have to manage life. But I want that person to know that [my mental state] is a gift rather than just an illness or something I need meds for. If they can recognise that, then we can be. If I can’t be myself around the person I’m gonna be with, then hell no. Bury me next to my brother and I’m good.”

Corrie’s Antony Cotton defends Ariana Grande over Manchester Pride backlash

OHMYGOSSIP — Antony Cotton has defended Ariana Grande against backlash over her Manchester Pride performance.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star – who was born in Bury, Greater Manchester and has been open about his own sexuality – has hit out at critics of the 25-year-old singer and her headline billing for the LGBTQ event coming up this summer.
Taking to Twitter, the gay actor wrote: “I can’t believe people have tweeted @ArianaGrande to complain about her headlining the @ManchesterPride weekend because she’s straight?!
“I’ve never heard of anything so preposterous. She was asked because she’s feckin’ amazing. And she’s also an honorary Mancunian. End of story.”
Ariana was made an honorary citizen of Manchester in July 2017, just months after the terror attack at her concert in the city, which claimed the lives of 22 people.
She said at the time: “I don’t know what to say. Words don’t suffice. I’m moved and honoured. My heart is very much still there. I love you. Thank you.”

I’m not claiming to be the hero of the community or the face of the LGBTQ rights movement – I just wanna put on a show that makes my LGBTQ fans feel special and celebrated and supported. Guy Henry wants respect for Casualty and Holby City

OHMYGOSSIP — Guy Henry hopes the ‘Casualty’ and ‘Holby City’ crossovers can change the public’s perception of both shows.
The 58-year-old actor – who plays Henrik Hanssen in the latter – has suggested the two medical dramas are undersold by a lot of people, and the upcoming special episodes might be a chance to show what both teams can do.
He told Digital Spy: “I think people — like myself, as I said earlier, when I came into it, and found how good it could be, I was surprised.
“I bet if you cobbled together some bits of some of the very best of it – not all the time, of course, but some of the very best of it, and you showed it to some people who have not seen it, they might be very surprised about the standard.
“So yes, I do think it does get a bit ignored, yeah.”
The two shows will combine in March in a two part special when a cyber-attack leaves Holby City Hospital in chaos, with intertwining stories meaning familiar faces from both shows will interact.
The exciting collaboration will kick off during ‘Casualty’ on March 2, and will conclude with an episode of ‘Holby City’ on March 5.
BBC is celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘Holby’, with returning characters set to make guest appearances throughout the year.
Storylines set for the crossover special include a possible pregnancy, a car crash and two members of staff facing a fight for their lives with only one operating theatre available.
Simon Harper, the executive producer of both shows, said: “We’ve known for some time there’s been major audience appetite for a mega crossover between these sister shows.
“You’ll see both the Casualty and Holby teams striving heroically against the odds in two episodes of pure, nail-biting, taut, emotional medical drama.”

Brie Larson listened to riot grrrl bands to get pumped up for Captain Marvel

OHMYGOSSIP — Brie Larson listened to 90s female punk bands to get pumped up for ‘Captain Marvel’.
The 29-year-old actress plays Carol Danvers in the upcoming 1990s set superhero film, which is the first female stand-alone movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and revealed that she listened to a lot of music which originated from the riot grrrl scene – an underground feminist punk movement that began early on in that decade – to get herself up for the action-packed scenes.
Speaking to CinemaBlend, she said: “I was listening to a lot of riot grrrl whilst making it, that was kind of my pump up music, in particular during the fight sequences. Listened to a lot of L7 and Bikini Kill in particular.”
The movie follows Carol, a former US Air Force fighter pilot, as she turns into one of the galaxy’s mightiest heroes and joins Starforce, an elite alien Kree military team, before returning home when Earth is caught in the centre of a galactic conflict between two extra-terrestrial worlds.
The ‘Room’ star previously revealed that she got to a stage where she could “deadlift 225 pounds” due to the rigorous exercise regime she followed to be Captain Marvel.
She said: “Being sporty is like a new thing. I was super not athletic. I was like a ‘Can you open this water for me?’ person, and then like, a year ago I just really bulked up. I trained for nine months, and then I was able to do crazy things. I could deadlift 225 pounds by the end of it … The ongoing joke with my trainer, because Captain Marvel can move planets, I was like, ‘I just wanna be able to push your car. If I can just push your Jeep, then I’ll feel like I was ready.'”
Brie attended the UK Gala Screening of the MCU movie at the Curzon Mayfair in London on Wednesday night (27.02.19) and wowed in an extravagant royal blue gown which matched the event’s special blue carpet.

Olly Murs thinks The X Factor needs a break

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Murs thinks ‘The X Factor’ needs a break.
The 34-year-old singer – who shot to fame when he came second in the sixth series of the hit ITV talent show in 2009 and then co-hosted the show in 2015 – thinks the show needs to “take a break” from its long-running format to freshen things up.
Olly appeared on ‘This Morning’ on Thursday (28.02.19) and said: “If they are going to take a break from the show, I think that’s a good thing to do, because they need that for a little bit. There was a rumour they were going to do a celebrity ‘X Factor’.
“I think it does need a little bit of a break from what it was doing and I think Simon has seen that and I’m glad he has. I like the show more than anyone, God, the show changed my life. I watch it like everyone else.
“I’ve always felt something is not clicking right on the show. It does need a break, and yeah, we will see what happens.”
Olly also addressed speculation about the possibility of a champion of champions edition of the competition – in which the most successful contestants from the show’s past battle it out for the top spot – but said he wouldn’t be interested.
Ruling out his involvement, he said: “I’ve heard about this. I’ve been asking everyone at ITV if they can give me a clue what is going on, because I’m clueless. No. I wouldn’t go back on it, no.”
The ‘Troublemaker’ hitmaker is excited about his upcoming tour which starts in May and says it is going to be an “emotional” experience as he is not sure what direction his career will go in after.
