Shannen Doherty emotional over Luke Perry

OHMYGOSSIP — Shannen Doherty will “start crying” if she talks about Luke Perry’s hospitalisation.
The 47-year-old actress’ friend and former ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ co-star – who played Dylan McKay to her Brenda Walsh – suffered a stroke last week and while the ‘Charmed’ star admitted she has been “in contact” with her pal, she didn’t want to say too much about his condition.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I can’t talk about it here ’cause I will literally start crying but I love him and he knows I love him. It’s Luke, and he’s my Dylan.”
And Shannen urged the 52-year-old star’s fans to keep “sending positive wonderful thoughts” to him while he remains in hospital.
The actress – who is in remission from breast cancer – previously sent her support to Luke on Instagram.
She wrote: “My friend. Holding you tight and giving you my strength. You got this.”
And her fellow former ‘90210’ co-star, Ian Ziering, also paid tribute to his pal following the “shocking” news:
He wrote on Instagram: “No words can express what my heart feels hearing today’s shocking news. Let us all say a prayer for his speedy recovery.”
‘Riverdale’ actor John Behlman took to Twitter for his tribute, in which he said he “barely met” Luke, but he seemed like a “good man”.
He wrote: “Wishing all the best and a safe recovery for Luke Perry. I only barely met and worked with him, but he seems as good a man as you encounter.”
And Kristy Swanson, who appeared alongside Luke in the 1992 ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ movie, wrote: “I just heard the frightening news about my dear old friend Luke Perry having a massive stroke.
“Luke honey I am praying so hard for you right now, I love you so much, and by God’s Grace you will get through this. Please pray for Luke.”

Rob Delaney feared he wouldn’t bond with son

OHMYGOSSIP — Rob Delaney worried he wouldn’t “like or bond” with his baby son.
The ‘Catastrophe’ actor’s two-year-old son Henry died of cancer in January 2018, and he admitted the tragedy left him concerned throughout wife Leah’s pregnancy that he would be too “afraid” to get close to their fourth child when he was born late last year.
Rob – who also has two older sons, aged seven and six, with his wife – admitted “I knew that I would ‘love’ him.
“But I didn’t know if I would like him or bond with him, ’cause I didn’t know if I would be too afraid to.”
Thankfully, the feeling went a few weeks after the baby was born but Rob admitted the period was a “totally insane” time but thinks it must have been much harder on his wife.
He told New York magazine: “How do you go to your own child’s funeral when you’re pregnant?
“I would like to carve a large bronze monument in the centre of town for her not going on a killing spree or picking up police cars and throwing them through windows.”
The 42-year-old star is usually very private about his personal life but felt it was important he broke the news of Henry’s death himself via Twitter.
He said: “There was no way for me to not go insane and I wanted to be in charge of how that information got out there.”
Rob admitted that, while people may not realise, he is still grieving “all the time” and spends time every day talking and thinking about Henry.
He said: “If you observe me through a telephoto lens or something, you might not know that I’m grieving all the time.
“I’ll have a memory and start to cry sometimes. Or I’ll look at my watch and notice it’s coming around the time when I would have changed his tracheotomy dressing for the day, and I’ll be sad I’m not doing that.
“He’s absolutely still my son, and he commands a big percentage of my attention each day. So I just try to not resist that or hate it or fear it. He’s my son. I loved him when he was alive. I still love him and talk to him and think about him every day.”

Jennifer Garner was ‘devastated’ son didn’t like costume

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Affleck says his ex-wife Jennifer Garner was “devastated” that their son didn’t like the costume she wore for his birthday party.
The 46-year-old actor – who has children Violet 13, Seraphina, 10 and Samuel, seven with the ‘Camping’ actress – has revealed that his former spouse “felt so bad” after she got into the spirit of the ‘How To Train Your Dragon’-themed bash and the youngster wasn’t very impressed.
Jennifer dressed up as Astrid from the animated movie, complete with blue and orange face paint, a fur shawl and boots, arm sleeves and a pointy, leather skirt, and even Ben was surprised by her costume.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, he said: “I was shocked as anybody when I saw Jen come out as Astrid. But then she said Sam was like, ‘OK Mom. We already have an Astrid.’
“I felt so bad. She was devastated. She had gone to all these lengths to put on the costume. We’re just not that cool.”
The former ‘Alias’ star had previously admitted the party had made her realise her son no longer thinks she is “cool”.
She shared a photo of herself presenting her son with his chocolate birthday cake and captioned the Instagram post: “Well, guess what. It turns out 7 is the age my kid stops thinking it’s cool when I dress up for the party. #youngestchild #firsteyeroll #anyoneneedanAstrid [facepalm, laughing, grandma emojis] (sic)”
But while Samuel wasn’t impressed, America Ferrera, who voices Astrid, took to her own Instagram account to praise the ‘Camping’ actress for her efforts.
She shared Jennifer’s original post on her Instagram Story and wrote over the top: “Ahhhh!!!! Yeeeeessss!!! AMAZING @jennifer.garner as ASTRID!! (sic)”

Kerry Katona baffled by Danniella Westbrook feud

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona admits her feud with Danniella Westbrook is “bizarre”.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress – who is currently in rehab receiving treatment for her cocaine addiction – recently slammed the ex-Atomic Kitten singer for “making money” out of her by speaking about their friendship on ‘Loose Women’ but Kerry has insisted she doesn’t know why the troubled star was so upset, particularly because she didn’t say anything “untoward” and didn’t get paid for her interview.
She wrote in her column for new! magazine: “It all kicked off with Danniella Westbrook last week, didn’t it? It’s very bizarre and very shocking.
“Let me get things straight. I did ‘Loose Women’ and I got asked about Danniella, as we’ve both been on the show before with regards to our addictions.
“She’d been on ‘Jeremy Kyle’ to talk about her problems and then she went to rehab, so obviously when I was back on the show they asked me about her. I said nothing untoward – in fact, I wished her all the best.
“Then a week after that, her son Kai rang me and said I was making money off his mum. As if! I was actually on the show to talk about ‘Celebs Go Dating’ – for free.
“Because of that, I sent Danniella a text saying, ‘Listen, I wish you all the love and happiness in the world but I’m not having your son ringing me up to have a go at me.’
“Now it’s all gone everywhere. I think it’s a bizarre situation.
And the mother-of-five claimed she and Danniella don’t actually know one another that well and have only met a few times.
She said: “I just hope she gets on with her life and sorts her s**t out, but with regards to her being my BFF, I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve actually met her.
“I wish her lots of happiness, but there is no love lost between us whatsoever.”
In a series of scathing tweets, Danniella had fumed at Kerry for “making money” out of her.
In one tweet, she wrote: “your no inspiration 2 me … thanks 4 money out of me whilst I’m getting well. Maybe next time stop ya jaw swinging on @loosewomen (sic)”

Frances Bean Cobain proud of comparisons to dad Kurt

OHMYGOSSIP — Frances Bean Cobain is proud to be compared to her late father.
The 26-year-old artist-and-musician – who is the daughter of Courtney Love and the late Kurt Cobain – doesn’t get upset when people connect her work to that of the Nirvana frontman because it’s a “pretty damn good” thing to be associated with.
She said: “If people need that outlet in order to look at my music, or look at my art, and say, ‘It’s just like your dad’–if they need that, that’s okay. If that’s the association they make, that’s a pretty damn good association; there are worse things to be called.”
Frances also credited RuPaul for helping to make her into the person she is today.
The pair were discussing a famous photo of Frances as a baby being cradled by the ‘Drag Race’ star in full drag at the 1993 MTV Video Music Awards while the tot’s father smiled for the camera, with his bandmate Dave Grohl at the other side of the photo, and the artist – who was crying in the shot – admitted she believes the picture captured her “personality being made”.
Speaking to RuPaul on his ‘What’s The Tee’ podcast, she said: “I firmly believe that that photo captures my personality being made. You are the reason I am the way I am.
“You were not my only drag queen in my life from a very young age. I had drag nannies…
“I remember waking up next to a nanny of mine who used to do Miss Piggy-type drag in a red sequin dress and snout askew.”
RuPaul knew the person being described was “Loretta Pig from New York City” and went on to tell Frances how much her parents were fans of drag artists and culture.

Ben Affleck happy to talk about alcoholism

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Affleck has admitted alcoholism is a “part of [his] life” so he is happy to talk about his addiction.
The 46-year-old actor admitted it “doesn’t really bother” him to speak about his struggles with alcohol and current sobriety and he feels proud that he has been to rehab and tackled his problem.
Speaking on ‘Today’, he said: “It doesn’t really bother me to talk about alcoholism and being an alcoholic.
“It’s part of my life, it’s something that I deal with.
“It doesn’t have to subsume my whole identity and be everything but it is something that you have to work at.
“I had a problem and I really want to address it and I take some pride in that.
“It’s about yourself, your life, your family… we encounter these kinds of hurdles and we have to deal with them.”
And the ‘Triple Frontier’ star praised his “wonderful” ex-wife Jennifer Garner for being such a “great mom” and support to their three children, Violet, 13, Seraphina, 10, and seven-year-old Samuel.
He said: “She’s wonderful. When somebody’s the mother of your kids, they’re going to be the most important central person in your life and that’s good.
“I hope I’m a pretty good dad. I certainly try very hard. I’m lucky they got a great mom, and she helps out a great deal with making sure that we co-parent in as good a way as possible.
“Dads are so important to kids, and it’s our responsibility to be there for them — to be present, to be mindful, to be attentive, to be part of their lives, to be as in it as moms.
“That’s really the central preoccupation in my life. The focus of my life is what I love doing. It’s what makes me happy, and the rest of the stuff kind of follows.”

Malin Andersson splits with Tom Kemp following daughter death

OHMYGOSSIP — Malin Andersson has split with Tom Kemp following the heart-breaking death of their four-week-old daughter.
The former ‘Love Island’ star suffered tragedy earlier this year when she and her partner’s daughter Consy passed away after she was born seven weeks prematurely, and Malin has now revealed the pair have gone their separate ways, after struggling to cope with their grief.
In an interview with OK! magazine, she said: “Things have been strained between us since Consy was born, a situation like that will either make you or break you and we’ve been at each other’s throats.
“He deals with things completely differently to me, he bottles everything up and then eventually explodes, whereas I think it’s better to talk about everything. Our relationship wasn’t healthy so I’m taking myself out of it.”
Malin admitted that while she misses Tom, she isn’t sure whether they will reconcile and is trying to focus on her career.
She said: “We’ve been in some contact since we split and I’ve said I’m happy to be his friend and help him deal with his issues.
“I do [miss him] but I’m trying to focus on myself for a while. I’ve started having meetings about my app and things are looking positive.”
The star is yet to visit Consy’s grave because it’s too painful, and recently burst into tears when she drove past the hospital where her daughter was born.
She explained: “I tried to visit her grave yesterday but I couldn’t.
“I find the thought of her buried in the ground too much to bear. I also drove past the hospital where she was born and just burst into tears – I’m very up and down.”

Alan Partridge series in the works

OHMYGOSSIP — A new Alan Partridge series is in the works.
Steve Coogan recently returned as the inept broadcaster in his new magazine-style series ‘The Time with Alan Partridge’, and the character will return for another show according to the latest series’ co-writers Neil and Rob Gibbons.
Speaking on the ‘Empire Film Podcast’, the pair said: “Actually, there are other formats on our list, one of which we’re – I don’t know if we can talk about it – but we’re about to shoot another ‘Partridge’ series.
“We’re going to film it in May for the BBC, which is Alan trying his hand at something else.”
‘Stan and Ollie’ actor Steve will also be back as Alan for a new Comic Relief sketch for Red Nose Day on March 15.
The 53-year-old actor was happy to revive his character on his ‘This Time’ series and previously explained that his character’s lack of filter allows him to make some “atrocious” arguments and explore topics such as the #MeToo movement, which can be “difficult” to talk about.
He said: “Me Too – there’s a whole episode about that. That’s such a difficult topic for anyone to talk about for anyone to say anything about, but if you’re doing a character it weirdly gives you this licence to. You can get things wrong in a big way and it’s fine because it’s him doing it.
“You’re not saying that he’s right and you’re not saying that he’s wrong. It allows you to sprinkle a little humanity on arguments that are atrocious.”
Steve also assured viewers that even though Alan can be “ignorant” and “prejudiced” he is a good soul deep down and is “trying to do the right thing”.

Keira Knightley says actors ‘don’t need to be bright’ but need ’empathy’

OHMYGOSSIP — Keira Knightley thinks actors “don’t need to be very bright” to do their job but they should “have empathy”.
The 33-year-old actress admitted that she didn’t do “very much research” for her latest role in ‘The Aftermath’ – which follows Rachael Morgan, the wife of a British colonel who is relocated to Hamburg after World War Two – she thought the movie’s themes were a “really easy thing to tap into”.
In an interview with talkRADIO, she said: “I didn’t do very much research on this, because I think as an adult if you’ve loved you know the fear of loss you know where that sits in you. I think it’s actually a really easy thing to tap into. I think most people are frightened of losing the people that are closest to them. And I think as an actor, you don’t need to be very bright, you do need to have empathy.
“Hopefully people that watch this story or connect to this story in any way hopefully you’ve not been through anything like this but I think it would be hard not to empathise with these people.”
The ‘Pride & Prejudice’ star also explained that although she’s been in many films set in this time period, she’s never had a role in a film which asks questions about rebuilding life after war.
She explained: “I’ve done a lot of World War Two films and I’ve watched a lot of World War Two films and I’ve never seen something set in exactly this period that kind of asks these questions. How on earth if you’d been through what that whole generation had been through, the trauma of all of that how do you rebuild? How do you stand back up? You know, how do you do any of this stuff? It’s kind of unimaginable how triumphant that they actually managed to do it.”

Gemma Chan says Captain Marvel is ‘overdue’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Chan thinks ‘Captain Marvel’ is “overdue”.
The 36-year-old actress, who plays Kree geneticist Dr. Minerva in the superhero film, is “really happy” to be part of the film – which is first female-led standalone film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – however, feels it should have come sooner.
In an interview with DigitalSpy, she said: “In some ways I feel that you know this film is a little overdue if we’re being honest, the 21st film in the MCU. But I’m really happy that this film has been made and to be part of it and to work with Brie (Larson) and I’m excited to be out there.”
Set in 1995 ‘Captain Marvel’ follows former US Air Force fighter pilot, Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) as she joins Starforce, an elite Kree military team and becomes caught in the centre of a galactic conflict between two alien worlds.
Meanwhile, Jude Law – who plays Kree Starforce Commander Yon-Rogg – admitted he was too nervous to even mention the moniker of his ‘Captain Marvel’ character when first being asked about the film because if he “lets a little go, it all goes” and he didn’t want to get into trouble for revealing spoilers.
The 46-year-old actor decided he had to take an extreme approach to secrecy and wouldn’t even mention his character’s name as he was afraid he’d let important plot details slip.
He said: “I just don’t let anything go. Because if I let a little go, it all goes. So, I’m not going to even mention [my character’s] name today. Maybe in a few months’, years’ time, I might talk about him in retrospect. But maybe not. Maybe I’ll just never mention him.”

Wendy Williams ‘doing swell’ following return to work

OHMYGOSSIP — Wendy Williams is “doing swell”, after taking an extended break from her talk show.
The 55-year-old presenter returned to helm her eponymously titled chat show on Monday (04.02.19) for the first time since December, after she took a break to “focus on her personal and physical wellbeing” following a shoulder fracture and later complications with her Graves’ disease.
And speaking on her return to the show, Wendy insisted she is doing much better, and thanked her fans for waiting patiently for her to come back.
Speaking on ‘The Wendy Williams Show’, she said: “How you doing? I’m doing better now so let’s get started! Thank you. I missed you too. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect when I hit the block today. I didn’t know whether you would wait for me if you would understand. Thank you so much for waiting for us.
“I am happy to tell you I am doing swell. I’m at home and taking my thyroid meds and meditating and believe me, I am going to the gym seven days a week for two hours a day. Mother has not gained a pound!”
Wendy went on to explain what had happened to her during her break, and said her doctors had to change her medication for Graves’ disease – which is an autoimmune illness that affects the thyroid – after she started having “issues” toward the end of her two week break over Christmas.
She added: “What happened was, we were only supposed to be off for two weeks for Christmas vacation. Towards the end of the two weeks I was starting to feel thyroid issues. If you don’t know about them, it’s a lifetime thing. They can really screw you over. So, they are adjusting my thyroid meds and the eyeballs are attached to the thyroid, which is my Graves’ disease, and I always have equilibrium issues with my vertigo. I’m the kind of patient, if I cough, I am thinking, ‘I am dying. I know I’ve gotten to that point.'”
The television personality first took time off at the beginning of December after fracturing her shoulder, and although she was due to return on January 14, she later pushed the date back to January 21.
But before she could make her return, she announced it would be extended further as she was experiencing “complications” with her Graves’ disease.
