Stephanie Waring earns Tom Cruise nickname on Hollyoaks set

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Waring was nicknamed “Tomina Cruise” while filming a terrifying stunt on ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 39-year-old star’s character Cindy Cunningham will dice with death in upcoming scenes when she is left dangling from a crane while in a car – and the actress’ colleagues were so impressed with her action woman antics, they compared her to ‘Mission Impossible’ star Tom Cruise.
She said: “Filming the stunt was the best week of filming I have had in a long time.
“I felt like Tom Cruise hanging from that car. I was nicknamed Tomina Cruise throughout the shoot, it was so exhilarating and so much fun.”
While Tom may have to watch out for Steph nicking his roles in the near future, Anna Passey could also be on high alert as Steph admitted she would love to play Sienna Blake if she could portray another ‘Hollyoaks’ character.
She said: “If I could play another character it would probably be Sienna, played by Anna Passey, as she is a fantastic actress and gets a lot of meaty storylines. Anna has portrayed her really well and I would love to have more scenes with her.
“I’m not sure Cindy and Sienna would get on, although it is ‘Hollyoaks’, so anything could happen!”
But Steph could soon be looking for other work as she hinted Cindy may not survive the harrowing crane ordeal at the hands of “mentally unstable” Milo Entwistle (Nathan Morris) next week.
She added: “It’s a big week for Cindy, as we know Milo is holding her hostage in a storage unit, and she is shackled by the ankle in fear for her life. She just found out that Milo is responsible for killing her parents, and he’s now threatening to dispose of her in one last final accident, which comes to a head at the end of the week!
“She is in fear of Milo. He is mentally unstable and she really believes he is going to kill her! I don’t think she will ever forgive him for this after what he has put her through, that’s even if she survives.”

Paddy and Christine McGuinness’ home robbed

OHMYGOSSIP — Paddy and Christine McGuinness’ home has been robbed.
The ‘Take Me Out’ presenter and his wife have reportedly filed a police report at their local station in Cheshire, claiming that thousands of pounds worth of items have been stolen from their palatial home, according to The Sun.
Paddy, 45 and 30-year-old Christine, live in a £2.1 million mansion in the area with their three children, twins Penelope and Leo, five and Felicity, two.
Last year, Christine revealed that their twins had been diagnosed with autism and said Felicity was also showing signs of the condition.
She said: “We had absolutely no idea they had autism even though the signs were there. They were non-verbal until they were three, they both walked on their tip toes, they didn’t socialise very well.
“They still do struggle with socialising with other children, and that’s probably one of the most heartbreaking parts of it because that’s just something you expect your children to do, go and make lots of friends.”
And Paddy has admitted that their children’s condition has affected their marriage.
He said: “It’s very, very, very, very difficult, you know any parent with children with any kind of special needs is very difficult.
“Some days it’s a wonder how we’re still together, me and Christine, because you can’t sort of do the normal things that you would as a couple.
“I can count on one hand the amount of times we’ve been on a night out together, because you can’t just have a babysitter. You can’t just say ‘I’ll drop them off at me relatives to look after’ because it’s not like that.”
Paddy suggested being raised by his mother has left him with the impression that women adjust to parenthood better than men, and admitted he focused on going out to work to provide for the family.
However, he struggled, and revealed he suffered with depression as he tried to cope with his new family life.
He said: “And then with the autism, for me, the more I saw it and the more they had really bad days, I’d get so down, you know, I’d be like, depression and different things would wash over me.”

Passenger to dip his toe into EDM

OHMYGOSSIP — Passenger is hoping to experiment in the world of EDM with a collaboration with Kygo on the cards.
The ‘Let It Go’ hitmaker has revealed he’s keen to change up his singer/songwriter style and work with the ‘Firestone’ producer on a track.
In an interview with The Sun newspaper, he said: “I met Kygo a while ago and we talked about doing something.
“Collaboration keeps you on your toes.”
The 34-year-old musician – whose real name is Mike Rosenberg – also hopes some of the songs he penned with his peer Ed Sheeran will come to light, though he realises the 27-year-old megastar is high in “demand”.
Passenger – who supported the ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker on his world tour in 2012 and 2013 – said: “He’s selling out stadiums all over the world, so whenever we get the chance and we’re in the same town we have a pint and a catch-up, but he’s in demand.
“I don’t want to be one of those guys pestering him.
“We’ve written a little bit in the past. I’m sure it will happen at some stage.”
The pair previously teamed up on the track ‘Heart’s on Fire’, the second single from Passenger’s fifth studio album, 2014’s ‘Whispers’.
The folk rock star might be up for collaborations, but he admits he’d struggled to work with multiple songwriters like Ed does, because he’d find it hard to be “honest” in a room of strangers.
The ‘Staring at the Stars’ singer is also a prolific songwriter and has to keep moving once he’s finished a record.
He admitted: “I know Ed Sheeran writes with a bunch of fantastic writers but, for me, it’s quite difficult to be that honest with other people.
“Usually by the time I’m releasing an album, I’ve got the next one pretty much written.”
Passenger releases his ninth studio album ‘Runaway’ on August 31.

Trollied to be ‘shelved after Christmas special’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Trollied’ has been shelved.
The Sky One sitcom about a fictional supermarket Valco, based in Warrington, north west England, is set to shut its doors for the final time later this year after seven series and more than 70 episodes.
A Christmas special of the show will air over the festive period for fans to wave goodbye to the loveable characters, such as Jason Watkins’ store manager alter-ego Gavin Strong, according to Digital Spy.
The Christmas special will be an hour-long episode and air in December.
Die-hard fans of the series – which also stars Chanel Cresswell as Katie McVey, Stephen Tompkinson as Brian, and Sarah Parish as Cheryl Fairweather – have taken to Twitter to reveal their devastation at the news.
One wrote: “Gutted that #Trollied is ending after the Christmas episode (sic)”
Another posted: “@Jason__Watkins why why whyyyyyyyy am I reading that there’s only one ep of Trollied left? @fayemckeever … someone!!! Don’t let it be the end!!! (sic)”
One shared: “Damn gutted that #trollied is ending but to be fair there’s loads of episodes so it’s done well..would be nice if some originals came back for the last episodes. (sic)”
Should some of the original cast reprise their roles for the Christmas special, that could see the return of ‘Trollied’ legend Jane Horrocks, who played Valco assistant manager Julie Cook, ‘Game of Thrones’ star Mark Addy (Andy Richmond), or Stephanie Beacham (Lorraine Chain).
The show – which opened its doors in 2011 – has also attracted a whole host of guest stars, including Geri Halliwell, Kelly Brook, Ian Botham, Carol Vorderman, Louise Redknapp and Andrew Flintoff, who all played themselves.

OHMYGOSSIP — Alex George is joining ‘Good Morning Britain’ next week.
The 27-year-old A&E doctor, who recently shot to fame on ‘Love Island’, has signed up to be the guest health editor on the programme in place of Dr Hilary Jones, and he can’t wait to get started on the show.
Announcing the news on ‘GMB’ earlier today (24.08.18), Alex said: “Next week Dr. Hilary is away, the fantastic Dr. Hilary, so I’m very excited to say that I’m going to be stepping into his very big shoes for the week, and doing my very best.
“I’m really excited!”
Alex is hoping he can use his “passion” for being a doctor to help people, particularly the “younger generation”, in his new role.
He added: “I’m really look forward to it. I’m very passionate about my job, I love medicine, I love health and wellbeing, I’m really excited to have that opportunity to talk about topics.
“I’m passionate about the job. Of course, I’m going to be going back to the NHS, but in the meantime, I really hope that I can use the platform that I have to talk about things that are topical and effect people in everyday life.
“Particularly the younger generation – things relating to sexual health, mental health, body image … all kind of topics that I’d really like to discuss and talk to young people about.”
Since leaving the ‘Love Island’ villa, Alex has always maintained he will return to A&E at some point.
He recently said: “My interest to be honest is to go back to A&E and I would really love to be involved in medical education to the public.
“There were points where I was talking in the villa like about C-sections and everyone was really interested and I think people of my age want to know more about the medical world.
“I would love to do TV doctor work because I am passionate about my job and would love to make that accessible to all audiences.”

Jonathan Pryce says Danny Boyle was too ‘socialist’ for Bond

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonathan Pryce has claimed Danny Boyle left the next James Bond film because the producers didn’t want a “socialist” 007.
The Oscar winner dropped out of ‘Bond 25’ earlier this week due to “creative differences” with Barbara Broccoli and the production team and the hunt is now on to find a new director.
Now, Pryce – who played the villain Elliot Carver in 1997 Bond film ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ opposite Pierce Brosnan as the big screen spy – has given his opinion on why Boyle was not the right man for the job, cheekily claiming his left wing political leanings may not have been right for such a big blockbuster franchise.
Speaking to the Daily Mail newspaper, he said: “They obviously couldn’t take a socialist Bond! You see, there are the Dannys of this world and then there are people who do the blockbusters.”
Back in 2012, Boyle, 61, was entrusted to direct the opening ceremony of the London Olympics and used the platform to celebrate modern Britain and institutions like the National Health Service (NHS), and was criticised for overtly promoting left wing ideology. He did also include a scene between current James Bond Daniel Craig and Queen Elizabeth II, with the MI6 agent escorting her to the event.
There has been speculation that Boyle’s script for the landmark movie had contained a number of current social themes, including Britain’s political tensions with Russia and references to the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements that began after the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse scandal.
Pryce, 71, ultimately believes that there is no place for personal politics in filmmaking, especially when it comes to a series like Bond.
Speaking at the Raindance Film Festival where Terry Gilliam was receiving the Auteur Award at The Dorchester hotel in London, he said: “You do bring some kind of personal sensibility to your work, but it shouldn’t be too obvious, unless it’s a film which is overtly political.
Edgar Wright and Jean-Marc Vallee are now among the frontrunners to replace Boyle on ‘Bond 25’, which could lose its release date slot if a new director is not found in 60 days.
The film will be Craig’s fifth and final outing as 007.

Casey is expected to play a supporting role as her demanding fencing coach, who used to parry and riposte himself back in the day.
Jasmine made her directorial debut with the 2011 drama ‘Maria My Love’ and collaborated with Damien Chazelle on ‘Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench’ and the 2016 hit musical ‘La La land’.
Casey will next be seen opposite Robert Redford and Sissy Spacek in director David Lowery’s crime comedy film ‘The Old Man & the Gun’, which hits cinemas in September.

The poster also features the lyrics: “If I don’t get to see the beauty of the end of culture; then at least I’ve seen the culture of the end of reality.”
The band recently released their latest single from the album, ‘TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME’.
And frontman Matty recently revealed he is planning on inviting a “handful” of fans into his studio to preview the two new albums they have on the way.
The ‘Somebody Else’ hitmaker confessed he was “pretty nervous” about letting them hear their new tunes.
He tweeted: “I’m gonna get a handful of you guys to come to the studio (LA) and listen to some of the record(s) soon. I’m pretty nervous but very excited (sic)”
Following the release of ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’ on November 30, a second record entitled ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’, is said to be coming in May 2019.
Speaking about the two albums, he said: “We’re actually doing two albums. We’re doing ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’ and then I think in May next year we’re dropping ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’, which is a different album.”
‘TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME’ followed the singles ‘Give Yourself A Try’ and ‘Love It If We Made It’, which marked their first new music since 2016 LP ‘I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It’.
Meanwhile, the singer’s famous father Tim Healy recently revealed he has recorded a song with his son.
The 66-year-old actor took to Twitter last month to share the news that he had been in the studio with his offspring to record a track that he had written when Matty was just 11 years old.
Posting a loving picture of himself with the ‘Chocolate’ hitmaker, Tim wrote: “Had a brill day recording a song I wrote when Matty was 11 he wanted it on his new album yippee you can hear it in April love you guys xxxx (sic)”
A second picture of Tim sat at a piano whilst Matty stands beside him was captioned: “In the studio xx (sic)”
Tim is best known for starring as Dennis Patterson on the British TV show ‘Auf Wiedersehen’.
It’s not known if the track will be featured on either of their albums.

Tom Hardy moves to the countryside

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Hardy has moved to the countryside with his pregnant wife.
The 40-year-old actor is said to be expecting his second child with his spouse Charlotte Riley, with whom he already has a two year old, and the couple have recently relocated from their mansion in south west London to a more rural area on the outskirts of the city after being pestered by an obsessive female fan.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Tom is living his new life in the country and has been seen dog-walking every morning. He feels it’s the perfect place for him and Charlotte to bring up their new baby.”
The pair began their house hunting last month and were said to be considering Devon as they wanted to have a large home for their kids and pet pooches.
Tom and Charlotte, 36, first met on the set of a ‘Wuthering Heights’ adaptation in 2009 and have also starred in ‘Peaky Blinders’ together.
They tied the knot four years ago – making that Tom’s second marriage as he was previously wed to producer Sarah Ward from 1999 until 2004.
Tom has previously spoken about how he and Charlotte try never to go longer than three weeks without seeing each other.
He said: “I like to go no longer than three weeks without seeing Charlotte but it can be tricky because we both go to opposite sides of the globe, then we have to meet in the middle. We’re managing so far.”
And he has gushed about how “kind and pure” his wife is, saying: “Aw, she’s pure. She’s just a very kind, pure person.”
Tom also has 10-year-old son Louis with his ex Rachael Speed.

Kristin Cavallari’s reality show gets renewed

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristin Cavallari’s reality TV show has been renewed for a second series.
The 31-year-old beauty has confirmed that her hit E! programme ‘Very Cavallari’ will return to screens next year for a second instalment – made up of 10 one-hour episodes – after the first season proved a huge success with viewers.
She said in a statement: “I couldn’t be happier that ‘Very Cavallari’ will be returning for season two. I had the best time filming our first season and feel like we are just getting started, so I can’t wait to come back for more next year!”
‘Very Cavallari’ follows Kristin’s life in Nashville, Tennessee, with her husband Jay Cutler and their three children; Camden, six, Jaxon, four, and Saylor, two, as well as the drama involving the staff at her shop, Uncommon James.
The renewal means that Kristin probably won’t be returning to ‘The Hills’ – which she starred in from 2006 to 2010 – after MTV announced earlier this week that they were rebooting it as ‘The Hills: New Beginnings’ in 2019.
The updated show will reunite original cast members alongside their children, friends, and other familiar faces, and follow their professional lives in LA.
‘The Hills’, was a spin-off of ‘Laguna Beach’ and followed Lauren Conrad as she tried to make a name for herself in the fashion world. Lauren left in season five, and Kristin took over as the lead star.
Kristin previously said she wouldn’t trade her time on ‘The Hills’ “for the world”.
She said: “It got me to where I am today.”
But she admitted she can’t bear to watch old episodes of the show.
She added: “If I did watch them I would cringe. I think MTV played them a couple summers ago and my husband Jay put them on as a joke to mess with me. It was definitely cringeworthy – I know what I did! I know what happened.”

Kim Kardashian West doesn’t do cardio

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West “doesn’t do a lot of cardio.”
The ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star has managed to lose 20lbs this year – taking her from a fluctuating 140lbs to 116lbs – without running on a treadmill as she and her bodybuilder trainer spend 90 minutes a day lifting heavy weights.
Speaking to E! News, the 37-year-old beauty said: “I work out about an hour-and-a-half every single day, heavy weights. I don’t do a lot of cardio. But honestly, like even my mom pulled me aside maybe a week ago and pulls me in a closet and is like: ‘What are you doing? I don’t care what, I just need to know.’
“I’ve been working out really hardcore with a bodybuilder for one year. September is our one-year anniversary. I’ve lost 20 pounds and I’m really proud of that. I was almost 140 forever and now I’m like 116 and it just feels good. I didn’t see results right away, but when you stick with something and you’re consistent, you will.”
However, although she still likes to demolish a tub of Häagen-Dazs ice cream once in a while, she’s tried hard to cut down on the amount of sugar she has.
She explained: “I don’t really eat sugar the way that I used to. It doesn’t really do it for me. I’ve kind of been trained to just eat a lot healthier than I used to. I used to just eat anything and everything and I loved it. And so I really do control that now. … I don’t want to ruin it by just stuffing my face.”
Kim went to her trainer Melissa Alcantara last year and told her exactly what she wanted her body to look like after training with her.
Melissa said: “Kim told me: ‘I love my body. I love the way it looks and I love my hips.’ She just wanted more muscle. She wanted bigger hamstrings, which accentuates the entire leg. And she wants those cut arms and abs!”

Ice Cube is living dream life

OHMYGOSSIP — Ice Cube is living his dream life.
The 49-year-old star shot into the limelight as a rapper before dipping his toes in acting and, although he always wanted to be a basketball player, he’s glad he jumped across to films when he did because there’s more “longevity in it.”
Speaking to the New York Post newspaper, he said: “I’m going with acting, because of longevity. As an athlete, you got 10, maybe 12 years, then you’re looking for something to do. So I will go with acting as a long shelf life.”
However, the ‘Check Yo Self’ hitmaker – whose real name is O’Shea Jackson Sr. – hasn’t given up his rap career completely as he recently said that he likes to use his music to make a difference after fans asked him to run for Congress.
When asked if he’d ever consider running for office, he said: “I use my music. I use my entertainment. I’m an artist. I’d rather paint what I’m feeling than sit up and try to deal with Congress and them crazies out there. They are more crazy than the rap game, so I’ll stick with rap. We’re safe.”
Meanwhile, Ice Cube was overcome with emotion at the end of last year when he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame outside the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, California, for his contribution to the showbiz industry over the years.
He said in his speech: “Thank you mama for always supporting whatever I wanted to do, whether you was with it or not, you said: ‘As long as it kept you off the street, you can do it.’ A lot of guys don’t have their fathers around, and if you want to make a man like this, stay around your sons. Stay around your kids.”

Paula Lane ‘doesn’t think about’ Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Paula Lane “doesn’t really think about” ‘Coronation Street’ nowadays.
The 32-year-old actress played Kylie Platt in the ITV soap from 2010 to 2016, and while she “really mourned” the character – who was killed by Clayton Hibbs (Callum Harrison) – following her departure from the show, she has “too much going on” to think about the cobbles now.
She said: “I’m moving into a completely new world. I don’t really think about it anymore, to be honest, there’s just too much going on.
“And that’s a lovely thing, don’t get me wrong.
“When I left, I really mourned that part, it was like a process I had to go through as an actress.
“I’d been playing her for so long and I loved my fellow cast members dearly and I genuinely mean that.”
Since departing the cobbles, Paula has starred in stage production ‘#BeMoreMartyn: The Boy with the Deirdre Tattoo’, which celebrated the life of Martyn Hett, one of the soap’s biggest supporters who was tragically killed in the Manchester Arena bombing last year.
And she recently landed the role Lauren in musical ‘Kinky Boots’, which she says is “exactly” where she “wants to be”.
She added to Express.co.uk: “I was about to have a baby as well, so emotionally that didn’t really help! But now, things have changed for me.
“I’m exactly where I want to be.”
After the actress was cast in ‘#BeMoreMartyn: The Boy with the Deirdre Tattoo’, Paula admitted she had landed the part “for a reason”.
She said: “He was such a big fan that he had a tattoo of Deirdre Barlow on his calf. I know he will have watched me as Kylie Platt on TV all the time.
“I also have a feeling our paths may have crossed at some point.
“Martyn would be totally made-up to know about this play and I feel it’s been sent my way for a reason.
“I’m sure some of my ‘Corrie’ colleagues will be coming to see me, plus I’m really looking forward to taking the play to Brighton and London.”

Fantastic Beasts producer praises ‘extraordinary’ Johnny Depp

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Fantastic Beasts’ producer David Heyman says Johnny Depp is “extraordinary”.
The 55-year-old actor has reprised his role as Gellert Grindelwald in the sequel ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ despite protests from fans over his controversial divorce from Amber Heard in 2016, in which she claimed he’d been abusive towards her throughout their marriage.
The pair later settled their divorce out of court with Amber dropping the charges and donating her settlement to the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union.
Both the producers and writer J.K. Rowling have backed Depp and Heyman told Yahoo Movies: “We wanted someone who was extraordinary, who was a little bit off centre, who had the charisma and the power to [match up to] the wonderful adversary [we had with] Ralph Fiennes. Voldemort was someone who was pure — you know, he knew no love, and he only knew hate. Grindelwald is a different beast.
“There’s something about Grindelwald — he’s a seducer — and he has no problem wielding his wand, as it were.”
Following on from the end of the first film, the sequel sees the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald escape from the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA).
Now the wizard is gathering followers to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.
In order to stop him and his plans, a young Albus Dumbledore [Jude Law] enlists the help of Magizoologist Newt Scamander [Eddie Redmayne] who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead.
And both director David Yates and leading man Eddie have praised Jude’s portrayal of Dumbledore.
David said: “We’re seeing Dumbledore as a young man, and Dumbledore as a young man’s quite a rebel.
“He’s a wonderful manipulator, and he has this incredible ability to sort of manoeuvre people into situations that they may not want to be manoeuvred into. And Jude brings this amazing freshness and sexiness and sensuality and sort of wit and sort of charisma to the role.”
Eddie added: “He has that sort of twinkle in his eye that was so important in the depictions of Dumbledore in the films and certainly was really important to J.K. Rowling.”

Ed Sheeran gave full creative control to Songwriter director

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran gave full creative control to his ‘Songwriter’ director.
Ed’s cousin Murray Cummings has dedicated the past 10 years to producing a documentary based on his famous relative and he revealed that Ed only suggested three small changes once the film was made.
He told Rolling Stone: “One of them was to change a shot of the back of his head because he didn’t think it was engaging; another one was a swear word that he wanted to cut, and then the last one was to change the end montage to have less studio footage and more fun stuff fans haven’t seen.”
And Murray believes the movie will appeal to both 27-year-old Ed’s fans and people who are just interested in the process of writing music.
He explained: “I see the genre that Ed is in as ‘singer-songwriter’. So I just crossed out ‘singer’, called it ‘Songwriter,’ and focused on that.
“I really just want it to cause people to pick up the guitar or whatever they’re into. I wanted it to work on a couple of layers, whereby fans will love it because they get to see what he’s like away from the stage. Songwriters who are interested in music and how it comes to be can be appreciate it on that level. And then also people who either don’t know Ed or don’t think he’s their cup of tea can get interested and get a bit of respect for how hard he works and how he gets songs written.”
Murray captured Ed while he was writing his latest album ‘Divide’ and he said the star’s writing style has changed massively since he started out.
He explained: “Ed’s style of how he writes has changed. I was extremely lucky to be filming him at this time where he changed from being quiet and writing stuff down with a pen of paper to actually singing stuff out loud as he writes it. You get to hear his thought process out loud which didn’t happen that often before this album. From a film standpoint it’s just really interesting to be able to hear what he’s thinking.
“Sometimes Ed would kind of forget what he had sung and then he would look at me and go ‘You filmed that, right?”
