Paul Hollywood has hernia from baking

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Hollywood has a hernia he’s suffered “from years of baking”.
The ‘Great British Bake Off’ judge has had to give up exerise after suffering a painful lump in his stomach, and he’s put the blame on his time rolling out dough.
Speaking during a Q&A at Chatsworth Fair, he’s quoted by The Sun’s TV Bizarre column as saying: “I don’t [exercise] really. I’ve got diagnosed with a little hernia here [pointing to his tummy]. It’s from years of baking.”
The 52-year-old star revealed he discovered the condition after experiencing cramps while training, and later deciding to get checked out.
He added: “I was starting to get into boxing and I did martial arts for 15 years.
“I started training again and I was cramping up and I didn’t know what it was.
“When it’s sorted I’ll be back training but at the moment nothing … just eating all the time. Trying to get it sorted.”
Paul isn’t slowing down though, as it was revealed last month he is heading Stateside after landing himself a new five-part cookery series, ‘Paul Goes to Hollywood’, which will see him jump on the back on a Harley Davidson motorbike for a 3,000-mile trip across the pond.
The TV presenter will visit different culinary locations which have featured in iconic Hollywood films, making pit-stops at New York’s Lenny’s Pizzeria, which featured in ‘Saturday Night Fever’, and he will head to Los Angeles to dine at Bob’s Big Boy Diner from ‘Pulp Fiction’.
Kirsty Hanson, commissioning editor at UKTV, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Paul Hollywood on this perfect combination of the nation’s love of travel, film and baking.
“This series is packed full of adventure and fun and will make an excellent show for both film fans and foodies.”

Big Brother eye revealed ahead of start date

OHMYGOSSIP — The new ‘Big Brother’ eye logo has been revealed.
The 19th civilian edition of the Channel 5 reality TV show will start on September 14, just four days after the celebrity edition comes to an end on Monday night (10.09.18).
Information on the upcoming series has been kept under wraps so far, although the logo hints at a cosmic theme with the eye described as an “interplanetary orb of luminous colours”.
Channel 5 hinted: “Big Brother is ready with a bold new series of tasks and twists to challenge and surprise the housemates.”
Emma Willis will once again be back to host the show, beginning with the live launch, and Rylan Clark-Neal will return for ‘Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’.
There is speculation the new cosmic eye logo – and the upcoming series – could be the final edition, with the future of the long-running reality show in doubt.
Speaking at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last month, Channel 5 boss Ben Frow admitted: “I have planned for a year without ‘Big Brother’. But never say never. The contract runs out at Christmas.”
However, producers Paul Osborne and Tamsin Dodgson have insisted nothing is confirmed regarding the end of the show’s time on air, as negotiations are on-going.
Paul said: “We don’t know that it’s going to be the last one at all, everything is still under negotiation and we’re very hopeful.”

Adam Thomas heard ‘white noise’ from Roxanne Pallet

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Thomas only heard “white noise” from Roxanne Pallett during her tell-all chat with Emma Willis about accusing his brother of hitting her on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ actor has been left “drained” from the situation, which has seen the soap star accuse Ryan Thomas of punching her on ‘CBB’, only for her to now back-track and apologise to the ex-‘Coronation Street’ star during an interview with ‘Big Brother’ host Emma, saying she made a “horrible mistake”.
After the chat was aired on last night’s (04.09.18) ‘CBB’, Adam tweeted: “I just heard white noise coming from her all I needed was the look on @EmmaWillis face throughout …it said it all am done with all this now it’s draining … #voteryan2win #CBBUK (sic)”
Adam and Ryan’s brother Scott Thomas later appeared on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’ to speak about the situation, and praised Emma Willis for “not sugar coating” her interview with Roxanne, admitting his brother has handled the situation “like an absolute superstar”.
During Roxanne’s chat with Emma, the emotional star apologised to Ryan and described herself as the “most hated girl in Britain”.
Roxanne said: “I am scared about the future … I just want to say I’m sorry.
“I needed to come and tell everyone that I got it wrong. I’m human. I made a massive, massive, horrible mistake.”
This comes after Adam blasted Jeremy Vine’s interview with Roxanne as “pathetic” after the TV presenter interviewed her on his new self-titled Channel 5 show yesterday, in her first TV chat since she left the ‘CBB’ house.
He tweeted: “Jeremy vine to scared to speak up too pc pathetic interview !! … to everyone that knows her and knows the real her and the lies and the stories she has spun for several years it is so frustrating to watch … good scene tho Rox annnddd cut!! (sic)”
‘Dancing on Ice’ judge Jason Gardiner agreed with Adam, tweeting: “I couldn’t agree more. I’ve only known her to be argumentative, dramatic and disingenuous. Ruthless ambition eventually destroys and leaves a wake of devastation. This is damage control. She doesn’t deserve the platform that comes with celebrity. I smell a book deal. #cynicalme (sic)”

Paddy McGuinness to host new game show

OHMYGOSSIP — Paddy McGuinness is to front a new game show which people will take part in from their sofas.
The 45-year-old TV presenter has just filmed a pilot for the new ITV programme, ‘Home Win’, which will see the host appearing on the screens of four unsuspecting contestants as they settle down for the evening.
Paddy will then announce they are on a Skype link to the studio, and the family will undertake a general knowledge quiz to earn a huge cash prize.
A source told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “Paddy was thrilled to be handed another new pilot, it’s been a great year for him career-wise and, being a comedian, the idea of surprising people by just appearing out of nowhere in their home really appealed to him.
“The show has been a long time in the pipeline, but they’ve been waiting for the right host.
“The pilot show has been filmed and bosses are hoping it will get off the ground for a whole series.”
Paddy has admitted that he himself is a fan of a night in, and says he would rather be home with his family than out partying.
He said: “I don’t have a showbizzy life. I’m always in, out and straight back home. In my job people think you’re out at every kind of party.
“I did all that years ago. I’m a lot more mellow now.
“I really like being at home, with the kids in bed, telly on, a takeaway – sometimes I’ll go salt and pepper ribs, sometimes a curry – with my shorts and T-shirt on. I like getting back to my bed.”

Dua Lipa to drop three new songs on deluxe album

OHMYGOSSIP — Dua Lipa will release three new tracks on a deluxe edition of her debut self-titled album.
The 23-year-old singer – who has been hard at work on her second record since January – has revealed she is putting out the record to mark the end of the 2017 record’s “cycle”, with new treats including an exclusive collaboration with K-Pop megastars, BLACKPINK – a South Korean girl group consisting of four members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa – for the song ‘Kiss and Make Up’, as well as the tracks ‘Want To’ and ‘Running’.
Teasing her fans on Twitter, Dua said: “So excited to release a super deluxe edition of my album on October 19th with 3 NEW SONGS!! Think of this as a little gift to wrap up this album cycle! Thank you for all the love and support.
“I’m so happy that you guys are happy! I was very excited about thissss but also sad bc it’s coming to an end. But also happy bc new music and new era!! (sic)”
Before then though, fans can get their ears around the ‘One Kiss’ hitmaker’s collaboration with Mark Ronson and Diplo, ‘Electricity’, on Friday (07.09.18) through their Silk City dance project, and the producer recently claimed she could become as big as late star Amy Winehouse.
Mark said: “I’m such a huge a fan of Dua Lipa, her voice is great, it’s got electricity.
“To watch her do her thing is amazing. She is the first UK pop solo artist to crack America since… I don’t even know.
“I mean I’m not talking about Adele or Amy, but like someone who makes really good danceable pop music.
“It feels like she has done something special, it’s like rarified air.”

Demi Lovato’s alleged drug dealer not being investigated

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Lovato’s alleged drug dealer will reportedly not be investigated.
Brandon Johnson, who recently claimed the singer “knew the risks” of taking drugs, is not going to be questioned by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) after the ‘Sober’ hitmaker suffered a suspected overdose in July, law enforcement sources have told TMZ.
This is believed to be because an overdose is deemed a “medical emergency”.
News of Brandon not being interviewed by cops comes after he revealed the 26-year-old pop star called him and asked him to come over to her house in the early hours of July 24 and said she “100 per cent knew what she was taking”.
He told the gossip website previously: “She texted me at 4am because she’s a girl and she wanted to kick it. We hung out.
“She has long hours and stressful days so she wanted to unwind. 100 per cent she knew what she was taking. They’re after market pills and they’re much stronger. She [Demi] understood fully and it’s unfortunate what happened.
“It’s a wake-up call for her and it opens my eyes to the dangers. They’re fun, but they can be harmful. I’d hate to hurt anybody. I hope she’s OK. But for anyone to think there was any misconception on my behalf is absolutely ridiculous. I’m not here to hurt anybody. I care for her very much, she means a lot to me. It’s just something that happened. It’s unfortunate.”
Brandon also claimed he left Demi’s house at 7 or 8am and she was asleep.
The star was later found unconscious by an assistant around 11.30am and revived with Narcan, a medication used to block the effects of opioids, especially in overdose.
He said: “When I was with her she was fine. When I showed up she was a little drunk, but nothing out of the ordinary. When I left she’d fallen asleep. She’d passed out, but it was already 7am or 8am. I tucked her in.”
Brandon did not reveal the drugs he and Demi – who is currently in rehab – took, but it was previously reported to be Oxycodone possibly laced with fentanyl.
And he was arrested just a month before her overdose, when he was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and being in possession of cocaine.
A few months prior to that he was arrested in North Hollywood, California, after he was allegedly found in possession of narcotics, a fully loaded semi-automatic handgun and $10,000 in his pocket.
Police then searched his home and allegedly found more guns and drugs, but he’s yet to be charged.
A source close to the dealer said that he’d been telling people he was in a “romantic relationship” with Demi prior to her overdose and he’s adamant he never sold her any drugs.
However, Demi’s friends denied their relationship was romantic.

Ed Westwick ‘splits from model girlfriend’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Westwick has reportedly split from his model girlfriend Jessica Serfaty.
The ‘Chalet Girl’ actor and the 27-year-old blonde beauty are said to have moved out of their Los Angeles home which they shared together to spend some time apart, though an insider close to Jessica says the pair – who started dating in May last year – “still love each other”.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Ed did not dump Jess, I think they still love each other — they’re just taking time apart to work on themselves and their careers.
“They had a flat together and remodelled and furnished it, but she is now living in her own apartment elsewhere.
“They still talk, but Jess has booked a film and has been spending a lot of time away shooting recently.”
The ‘FML’ actress had stood by Ed throughout his recent ordeal which saw him accused of rape and sexual assault.
After he was cleared of the serious allegations the pair went partying together, and Jessica wrote on her Instagram of the news: “Very happy for this man. After everything, justice was served.”
The ‘Gossip Girl’ star was accused in November last year of raping two women and sexually assaulting a third in incidents dating back to 2014, but it was revealed in July that the allegations had been dismissed as Los Angeles County prosecutors didn’t have sufficient evidence to charge him.
Shortly after the news came out, Ed was spotted letting his hair down at SBE’s Sunset Strip hotspot Hyde in La La Land with Jessica and friends.
A source said at the time: “Ed was in great spirits and seemed much happier now that the drama is behind him. He was lovey-dovey all night with his girlfriend.”
The 31-year-old actor had previously denied the allegations made against him by Kristen Cohen, Aurelie Wynn and Rachel Eck on social media, but earlier this year removed his statements from his accounts.
After Kristina accused Ed of raping her in 2014, the actor tweeted: “I do not know this woman. I have never forced myself in any manner, on any woman. I certainly have never committed rape.”
He took to social media again after Aurelie accused him of a similar crime, where he slammed the allegations against him as “provably untrue”, and insisted he would never do anything so “vile”.
He wrote: “It is disheartening and sad to me that as a result of two unverified and provably untrue social media claims, there are some in this environment who could ever conclude I have had anything to do with such vile and horrific conduct. I have absolutely not, and am cooperating with the authorities so that they can clear my name as soon as possible (sic).”

Nadine Coyle lands panto gig

OHMYGOSSIP — Nadine Coyle is set to star in a ‘Grease’-inspired Christmas pantomime in Liverpool.
The Girls Aloud star was forced to cancel her solo tour in May due to production issues, but that hasn’t stopped the ‘Love Machine’ singer from bagging herself a new stage role.
The Irish singer will make her debut in Bongo Bingo’s festival musical extravaganza at the Northern city’s Camp And Furnace theatre later this year.
As well as classic songs from the popular musical, the 33-year-old star is also set to sing Girls Aloud’s hits too.
The run kicks off on November 27, with shows schedule to run until December 29.
A source says Nadine has signed a contract which will see her perform for three weeks for a “five-figure” cheque.
They told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Nadine has been a huge draw already and has accepted a five-figure sum for the three-week stint. She has also had to sign a contract to say she will perform a couple of Girls Aloud tracks during the shows.
“Most of the shows have already sold out since Nadine was announced as the star of the show.”
As for the shows she axed earlier this year, the Irish star didn’t say whether she would be rescheduling or playing anymore dates in the future.
Nadine had planned to perform the girl group’s songs on her own, after a reunion with her bandmates – Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh and Cheryl Tweedy – proved too difficult, and due to the demand from fans on social media.
Speaking previously, Nadine said: “I love the Girls Aloud songs and get messages from fans asking to hear them performed live again. So this is giving them what they want.
“This tour is gonna be one big party night out. All the hits the fans love plus the new songs I’ve been working on over the last few years. I literally can’t wait to get out back on the road again.”

Ryan Thomas’ mum will never forgive Roxanne Pallett

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Thomas’ mum will never forgive Roxanne Pallett for accusing her son of punching her.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star’s mother Sandra has been left “really distressed” watching the ex-‘Emmerdale’ actress accuse her son of hitting her in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house, and hopes he can “feel good in his own state of mind” and “be normal again” when he departs the abode.
Sandra can no longer watch the show following the former ‘Emmerdale’ star’s claims, which she has now back-tracked on since departed the house, and admitted she made a “horrible mistake”.
Ryan’s mum said: “She needs to apologise to Ryan personally. He needs to get his warning taken off him, and I feel like she’s getting a lot of air time and is still almost the only one who is speaking out.
“I don’t think I’ll ever forgive her. I just want Ryan to feel good in his own state of mind. That will help me forgive Roxy more, when he gets over it and he can be normal again.
“It’s how she apologises to him.
“I can’t watch him cry. It makes he really distressed, it really does. It hurts.”
Roxanne told Big Brother than Ryan had punched her “like a boxer would punch a bag”, which saw him receive an official warning, and Sandra believes show producers could have dealt with the situation differently.
She said: “I don’t think he could believe it himself. That’s when his morale started to go.
“I think it could’ve been dealt with a little bit easier than just her saying an accusation and him getting a formal warning, and that was it.
“I don’t know what the reason for that is [giving Ryan the official warning].
“Seeing it, it’s just upsetting.
“When she said to the Diary Room that she didn’t feel like she could sleep in the same room it was just like, ‘What on earth?’
“She had a little giggle saying, ‘I’m going to do your laundry and now I might shrink it.’ I never dreamt the response from Roxanne.”
Sandra says Ryan was “looking forward” to taking part in the reality TV series, and is hoping the support of the nation “will help him” when he departs the house.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she added: “He went in there for a challenge. He was looking forward to it. He loves people. He loves being around, laughing and joking.
“He’s the godfather of the family. He’s always looked after us. And now because he’s in that situation we want to look after him, and we can’t do anything.
“The nation, when he comes out, will help him. Plus, his girlfriend [Lucy Mecklenburgh], who will smother him with kisses and hugs.
“But it’s what it’s done to him inside, how long he will it take for him to ever … [pick himself up].”

Coleen Nolan almost quit Loose Women over Kim Woodburn ‘bullying’

OHMYGOSSIP — Coleen Nolan almost quit ‘Loose Women’ over the “revolting bullying” she received following her on-air spat with Kim Woodburn.
The 53-year-old presenter has been inundated with threats after she and her former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ co-star clashed on the brunch-time programme last week, and trolls messaged her saying they hope she “dies like [her] sister” Bernie Nolan, who passed away from breast cancer aged 52 in 2013.
Bursting into tears on ‘This Morning’ while referring to her spat with Kim, she said: “I don’t know what I did wrong? I didn’t say anything. I said about two things. She needs help. I feel terribly sorry for her.
“I’ve never called her names. She’s called me every name under the sun. But to be called a bully … and then to have messages going, ‘Why can’t you die like your sister?’ ‘Can’t you get cancer like your sister?’
“In 50 years of doing a job I really love … there’s a campaign to get me fired. They sent me revolting things to the point where I phoned my management and said to my kids, ‘I can’t.’
“I cancelled everything last week after it. I just said, ‘I can’t do it, I don’t want to do it anymore.’ ”
Coleen was “genuinely shocked” by Kim’s ‘Loose Women’ appearance, which saw the 76-year-old TV presenter brand Coleen “lying trash” and a “piece of filth” before storming off the set after a heated row.
She had appeared on the show for what fans thought was going to see the pair make-up after they fell out following their 2017 ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ appearance.
Coleen said: “I don’t know what to say. If I could go back in time I’d change the whole thing.
“I genuinely thought she was coming on to make amends.
“So, it was like, ‘Let’s put it to bed, let’s have a laugh with it, let’s make amends.’
“It didn’t go that way, obviously, from the moment she came out. It was so shocking. Genuinely shocking for all of us, none of us wanted that. I don’t like to see anybody in that much distress, how she was in the end. It’s been the worst week of my life.”
Coleen admits she “wouldn’t wish” the “revolting bullying” she’s received on anyone, and insists she doesn’t hate Kim.
She added: “I think I’m strong. I feel strong. I’ve dealt with trolls and everything before.
“It’s revolting bullying. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I don’t hate Kim. We’ll never be friends that’s fine.
“But I would never set out to bully her. It’s just been a really hard week.”

Kele Okereke announces theatre debut

OHMYGOSSIP — Kele Okereke has announced his theatre debut in ‘Leave The Remain’.
The Bloc Party frontman has announced his first stage project, scoring the new play – directed by Robby Graham – alongside Matt Jones.
The production, which opens in Hammersmith in January, follows the story of a young gay couple suddenly faced with an uncertain future.
The story is “told through a mixture of music, drama and movement” and the ‘Streets Been Talkin’ hitmaker drew from his own experiences while creating the soundtrack to the play.
He said: “‘Leave to Remain’ is the story of what happens when a marriage forces two very different families to come together.
“For the music for this project I took cues from the records that my parents would play in our house when I was growing up, West African high-life music, and I tried to combine those sounds with the electronic dance music I hear in clubs today.
“It was important to me to make something that represented the meeting of two very different worlds.”
The show will feature Olivier Award nominated actor Tyrone Huntley in the lead role of Obi, with the full cast to be announced shortly.
The musical features songs such as ‘Not The Drugs Talking’, which gives off a similar vibe to the electro-rock sound in Kele’s debut solo album and Bloc Party’s ‘Intimacy’.
The musician and his boyfriend of almost 10 years became fathers to a daughter in 2016 to and he knows that gay couples can provide as much love as a traditional family setup.
He said: said: “I don’t feel it’s my role to explain myself to people or explain how I live my life. There will be some people who don’t get it. There are always going to be people that will have a problem with you and you don’t have to go round appeasing them.
“You just have to do you in the best way you can. That’s what I’m going to instill in my daughter.”

Isabel Marant wanted to create ‘practical’ makeup range for L’Oreal Paris

OHMYGOSSIP — Isabel Marant wanted her L’Oreal Paris beauty collaboration to be made up of “practical” products for busy women.
The 51-year-old French designer is most famous for creating her eponymous clothing and shoe label and has dressed stars such as Kate Moss, Rachel Weisz and presenter Alexa Chung and she has now teamed up with the cosmetics company to create a new line of beauty essentials.
Isabel approached the range the same way as she would when creating garments and was fully focused on coming up with makeup which can be used on the go such as lipsticks, eye shadow and mascara.
Speaking to Vogue UK, she said: “For this collection, the question I asked myself was the same as when I design clothes, ‘What do I want to wear? What do I need that I don’t already have?’ And the answer is makeup that’s effortless because we’re all on the go. “Who goes back at home to change after a long day of work? I wanted to create products that are practical. That can be applied on the go. Products that are small enough to take with you anywhere, any time. And also what was important to me was that each of these is multi-purpose.”
Explaining which products she definitely wanted to create, she added: “Exactly what I want in my make-up bag. The essential products for every day, for life on the go. I approached this make-up collection in the same way I design my ready-to-wear collections: to be wearable anytime, anywhere. For me, Parisian cool is not about social media perfection, it is a natural elegance.
“Super-natural for day, then statement updates for night with a dark eye or a bright red lip. But never both at the same time. And always worn with a slight offbeat edge. Imperfection has a charm all its own. A makeup embracing your own personality I would say, understated not overdone. We’ve made the tones and the shades for natural looks: a nude lipstick, transparent mascara, a cheek tint for a flush that looks healthy and natural.”
Isabel didn’t want any of her makeup range to be too bold or over-powering and instead wanted the products to enhance each women’s natural elegance.
She said: “This collection is about getting ready: getting ready for a special day or getting ready for a party, the essentials to have always in your bag but still embracing yourself. Essentials that aren’t about creating an entirely new look but giving elegance to the look you have.”

Secrets of Adriana Lima’s Angel look revealed

OHMYGOSSIP — Adriana Lima’s makeup artist has shared how she creates her Victoria’s Secret Angel look.
Patrick Ta, Shiseido’s global colour artist, has revealed exactly how to achieve his famous bold lip look, which she often sports on the catwalk and the red carpet.
The beauty guru begins with the brand new Shiseido Modern Matte Powder Lipstick in Shockwave to create the neon pink lip look – which the 37-year-old supermodel loves.
In an interview with UK Glamour, he said: “It’s super creamy, it’s super hydrating.”
The stylist then applies the Shiseido Minimalist Whipped Powder Blush in Sonoya to the apple of the cheeks – in order to balance out the strong colour of the lip.
He said: “It’s super natural and it’s super effortless. I love blush and I think it ties everything together.”
Next, the artist applies the Shiseido Aura Dew highlighter in Solar to the cheeks, nose and forehead.
He said: “The next product is highlighter, look how it sparkles like diamonds; it’s literally diamonds on your face.”
“So what’s really great about this highlighter is that it has a 12 hour wear, it’s subtle when you want it to be and then it’s like impactful when you want it to be.”
Patrick then uses the 12-hour wear Shiseido Lash Imperial Ink to accentuate the eyelashes and without overpowering the bold lip.
He said: “Whenever I’m looking for a mascara I want a mascara that is really gonna amplify my lashes and still make them look natural and like twinkly.”
The makeup artist also offered up his top tips for beauty mishaps when applying your mascara.
He said: “If you ever make mistakes and get like a little bit of mascara on your skin the trick is to let it dry and then it just flicks off.”

Carrie Underwood hits out at representation in music

OHMYGOSSIP — Carrie Underwood thinks women are underrepresented on the radio.
The 35-year-old country star has suggested it could be more difficult than ever for young, hopeful girls to chase their dreams and get “the same opportunities” the male artists are presented with.
Speaking on the Women Want to Hear Women podcast, she said: “Even when I was growing up, I wished there was more women on the radio, and I had a lot more than there are today,” Underwood said. “I think about all the little girls that are sitting at home saying, ‘I want to be a country music singer.’
“What do you tell them, you know? What do you do? How do you look at them and say, ‘Well, just work hard, sweetie, and you can do it’ when that’s probably not the case right now? I see so many girls out there busting their rear ends and so many guys out there where some new guy has a No. 1 and I’m like, ‘Well, good for you, that’s great, but who are you? What’s happening?’
“And then these strong women who are super talented that totally deserve it are not getting the same opportunities. But how to change it? I don’t know. How do we change it?”
Carrie – who makes sure to support other female artists by taking the most talented performers on tour with her to give them a deserved platform – also hit out at the way women are placed against each other in the industry.
She explained: “None of us feel that way towards each other,” she said. “Any time I hear some lady — some strong, awesome, talented woman on the radio with a great song — I’m like, ‘Heck yeah!’ I don’t ever think like ‘Aw man!’ It never enters my mind.
“And I feel like the more we can talk about that and be like ‘Please don’t put me on your Top Whatever list… just don’t do it,’ the more people will be like ‘Oh.’ Maybe they don’t think anything of it. Maybe they don’t realise it’s offensive. That’s why we’ve gotta tell ’em.”

Nile Rodgers and Chic have announced a UK tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Nile Rodgers and Chic have announced a UK tour.
The 65-year-old musician is set to headline a five date arena tour in December, and the legendary disco group’s run will start in Glasgow before heading to Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff and ending at the London O2 Arena.
The announcement comes ahead of the release of his first album in 24 years, which will be released later on this month.
The ‘Le Freak’ hitmaker has collaborated with a variety of stars on his new record – including Elton John, Emeli Sandé, Lady Gaga and Craig David.
The pioneer has worked with some of the greatest artists of all time, producing for the likes of David Bowie, Diana Ross and Madonna – however it recently came to light that Nile previously refused to work on a disco song for the late Aretha Franklin.
The Chic star has revealed he was asked to work on the late soul legend’s 1979 song ‘Only Star’ from her LP ‘La Diva’, but he told the ‘R.E.S.P.E.C.T’ hitmaker to her face, he didn’t want the job because he wouldn’t want to be known as “the guy who wrote Aretha Franklin’s disco hit”.
He recalled to MOJO magazine: “We only had one meeting but she wanted to write the songs.
“And she played this song ‘I’m Gonna Be The Only Star Tonight Down At The Disco’ [later recorded as ‘Only Star’], because for some reason somebody had convinced Aretha Franklin that disco was so happening she had to do a disco record.
“And I told her, point blank, ‘There’s no way I’m going down in history as the guy who wrote Aretha Franklin’s disco hit’, at least not that one.
“She had written it and the guy who did ‘The Hustle’, Van McCoy, a terrific arranger, he did the album [1979’s ‘La Diva’ with co-producer Charlie Kipps]. I couldn’t believe he did it. It’s just not a good song …”
After hearing the sad news of Aretha’s death, Nile tweeted: “I just finished interviews in Berlin, and was informed the mighty @ArethaFranklin has passed. RIPArethaFranklin #Queen of Soul (sic)”

Gillian Anderson creates ‘ageless’ clothing line

OHMYGOSSIP — Gillian Anderson is releasing a capsule collection for Winser London.
The 50-year-old actress is making a move into the fashion industry with her own clothing line of ready-to-wear pieces which she hopes will appeal to women of all ages.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar US, she said: “Obviously, we hope that the reach is as far as possible, but I could easily see teenagers and women in their 70s wearing some of these pieces.
“The swing coat is ageless, the silk blouse is ageless, the trousers are ageless – I’m hoping everybody!”
The ‘X-Files’ star – who has three children, daughter Piper, 23, and sons Oscar, 11, and Felix, nine – wanted the clothes to be “relaxed yet stylish” and wanted a versatile range, which you can dress up or down depending on the occasion.
She explained: “One of the most important things for me in this was that the pieces felt multi-purpose. That pieces could be very easily dressed up or dressed down.
“We have a silk cotton blouse, for instance, where both the collar and the cuff could be fitted in four different ways and can look styled to be more relaxed and casual, or dressy.
“Both of the coats, and the tuxedo jacket, have the same feel of being relaxed and yet stylish and luxurious in a light wool fabric.
“The sense that the blouse or even the crewneck jumper, it’s cashmere, it’s fitted, could be easily worn with jeans or with dress pants.”
Gillian – who lives in London and is in a relationship with screenwriter Peter Morgan – admits her character from ‘The Fall’, DSI Stella Gibson, has influenced her personal style since she started portraying her alter ego in 2013.
She said: “It wasn’t so much that I ended up wearing silk shirts or pencil skirts or some of the things that were quintessentially her style, but I definitely feel like she influenced my sense of femininity, helped me to embrace feminine aspects of myself, so I guess that’s an influence.”
