Ben Jardine tells Roxanne Pallett’s fiance to ‘re-evaluate’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Jardine has suggested Roxanne Pallett’s fiance should “re-evaluate” their relationship.
The ‘Married At First Sight’ star and the 35-year-old actress – who is engaged to Lee Walton – were seen flirting in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house, and Ben believes Lee should look into their romance.
When asked on talkRADIO if he feels bad that the former ‘Emmerdale’ star and Lee are still together, he said: “No – I don’t want to be that guy. At the same time he needs to do what I had to do after 13 years, he needs to re-evaluate the situation.”
Ben, 36 – who is currently divorcing wife Stephanie after they met on the dating show – has promised to never see Roxanne again, and admits he “had to stop [himself]” from flirting with her because she has a partner.
He added: “I ain’t going to be that guy. I’ll be honest, single? Yes that would’ve happened.
“But I had to stop myself and I was the one who walked away from that. All I can say is eyes don’t lie.
“I know I need to get myself back to Specsavers but eyes don’t lie and if someone’s there for ten seconds they ain’t there for their health.”
Ben was evicted from the reality TV show last month, and went on to suggest Roxanne is a “lovely girl”, but admitted he felt “a little bit of a mug”.
He said after leaving the house: “All I’ll say is she’s a lovely girl, she does what she does.
“I do feel a little bit of a mug sat here right now … she was a comfort blanket for me … I think she’s a lovely girl, that’s all I can say … I do feel a bit upset, played.”
Roxanne has since been forced to apologise after falsely accusing former ‘Coronation Street’ actor Ryan Thomas of punching her in the reality TV show digs.
The former ‘Waterloo Road’ star said sorry in a TV interview and admitted she had “got it wrong”.

Lauren Steadman ‘fears early Strictly exit’

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Steadman is said to fear an early exit from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The Team GB athlete is set to fly to Australia for the Paratriathlon World Championships, and she’ll return just days before the first round, meaning she won’t have much time to rehearse with her professional partner AJ Pritchard.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “AJ knows they have a lot of work to do and faces arguably the toughest task out of all the pros. Both himself and Lauren know her disability won’t be a problem, but they still need to time to practice and they’re not going to get it.
“They know are already behind other couples and nobody wants the embarrassment of being the first act voted out – but they are determined not to be.”
The 25-year-old star – who has competed at both the 2008 and 2012 Paralympics as a swimmer – was born without a complete right arm, and she admitted there could be some difficulties learning to dance a certain way.
She previously said: “I think there will be difficulties with having one arm but I think it’s just a case of learning how to do things slightly differently or a different hold.
“There is always a way round it and the lifts that we did do two weeks ago, there were some things that I had to change slightly but not major changes.”
However, it was previously revealed Lauren can salsa dance, and has even taught lessons herself.
A spokesman said: “She has salsa danced socially for several years and on occasion, due to shortages of teachers, she has helped beginners.
“She’s not formally trained or qualified. She does it because she loves it!”

Elton John set for ‘£5m John Lewis advert payday’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John has reportedly signed a £5 million deal for this year’s John Lewis Christmas advert.
The legendary singer is set to earn a huge payday with a one-off appearance on the huge seasonal gig, which has previously featured songs by the likes of Lily Allen and Gabrielle Aplin, and the ‘Rocket Man’ hitmaker is said to have spent four days on set filming his appearance in the commercial at Pinewood Studios.
A source told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: “John Lewis wanted to win the battle of the Christmas adverts this year and it has cost them a significant sum to do it.
“But they think having Elton on board will guarantee its popularity and blow Marks & Spencer out of the water.
“It’s a tear-jerker but also very sweet, and follows Elton from a child, through his teenage years, into how he is today. It is all very, very charming and the exciting crescendo at the end will be Elton playing his famous piano.”
Scenes in the advert will reportedly show Elton playing piano at its conclusion, while actors play him as a boy opening presents with his family earlier in the clip, which has become a big part of festive TV.
Elton is set to sing his 1970 ballad ‘Your Song’ for the commercial, which was previously performed by Ellie Goulding in the 2010 edition.
His appearance comes after his announcement earlier this year that he was stepping away from live performing after his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour’ to spend more time with his family.

Dwayne Johnson’s father gets his own biopic

OHMYGOSSIP — Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s father is to get his own biopic.
Rocky Johnson is a retired professional wrestler whose dramatic life story has inspired independent filmmakers Jonathan and Justin Gajewski to chronicle his journey from Canada to the wrestling rings of the US.
Looking forward to the project, Jonathan and Justin told The Hollywood Reporter: “We are very excited to bring Rocky Johnson’s incredible story to the world.”
Rocky – whose real-life name is Wayde Bowles – was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, and began his wrestling career in 1964, when he started to appear in shows around Toronto.
He subsequently headed to America during the Civil Rights movement era, where he was forced to deal with a significant amount of racial prejudice.
‘Ring King’ will show how Rocky ultimately managed to establish himself as one of the first black wrestlers to demand and receive a contract.
Currently, there is no word on whether Dwayne will be involved with the movie in any capacity.
Last month, Hiram Garcia – who works with Dwayne at Seven Bucks Productions – hailed his long-time friend’s incredible work ethic and described the wrestler-turned-actor as the “busiest guy in the world”.
Recalling how Dwayne was cast in 2017’s ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’, Hiram said: “Our agent had kind of flagged ‘Jumanji’ for us. He was like, ‘Hey, I have this script. It’s ‘Jumanji’. I think you should check it out. It feels like this is right up our alley.’
“It was a testament, especially to Dwayne, who’s the busiest guy in the world, but something about that night – I feel like we were maybe at a WrestleMania or something like that. I’m horrible with references in time, but I believe we were at an event like that. We had just landed … Dwayne read it that night. I read it that night, and it was just there. Right away on first reading, you just kind of got it.”

John Legend achieves EGOT

OHMYGOSSIP — John Legend achieved EGOT status at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Sunday (09.09.18).
The ‘All of Me’ hitmaker’s work as executive producer on ‘Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert’ earned him the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) prize at the second part of the annual ceremony, making him one of a select group to have picked up Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award, and the youngest artist to achieve the honour.
And his fellow producers on the musical, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sir Tim Rice, also completed their EGOT with the win.
John, 39, shared a photo of the three of them together backstage at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theatre on his Instagram page and wrote: “Before tonight, only 12 people had won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony in competitive categories. Sirs Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice and I joined that group when we won an Emmy for our production of their legendary show Jesus Christ Superstar. So happy to be part of this team. So honored they trusted me to play Jesus Christ. So amazed to be in such rarefied air. #EGOT (sic)”
The musical also picked up four other awards, for production design, lighting, technical direction and sound mixing, making it one of the night’s biggest winners.
Late chef Anthony Bourdain – who took his own life in June – was honoured with five awards for his ‘Parts Unknown’ show, and the programme’s executive producer, Lydia Tenaglia, broke down as she accepted the prize for writing for a non-fiction programme.
She admitted taking the award gave her a feeling of “tremendous bittersweetness” as Anthony had been nominated in the past but never won.
She added: “He’s off on a journey to parts unknown. We wish we could be there to shoot that journey with him. I think he would have written the hell out of that episode.”

John Legend’s surreal honour

OHMYGOSSIP — John Legend admitted achieving the EGOT is “kind of surreal”.
The 39-year-old singer became the youngest person to achieve the coveted career milestone when he picked up an Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) as producer of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert’ at the Creative Arts Emmy awards on Sunday (09.09.18), adding to his 10 Grammies, 2015 Oscar win for Best Original Song and the Tony he picked up in 2017 for co-producing ‘Jitney’.
And John “never dreamed” he would join the elite group of stars to have won at all four major awards ceremonies.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “It’s kind of surreal. It’s something I never even thought about when I started my career. I probably wanted to win some GRAMMYs and sell a lot of records, and all that started happening pretty quickly, but I never dreamed that I would be here, winning an Emmy, and being in that rare group of people that have won all four of these major [awards].”
And John hailed his Emmy win as a “huge honour”.
He added: “I’m happy I was part of such a great show.”
The ‘Ordinary People’ singer was particularly pleased he won at the Emmys because his wife Chrissy Teigen – the mother of his kids Luna, two, and Miles, three months – had rearranged her work schedule in order to join him at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theatre.
He said: “She was supposed to be taping ‘Lip Sync Battle’ while we were here, and she convinced her producers to push the second show back so she could come here in between shows and see if we would win this EGOT.
“I was hoping that I would not disappoint her and make her trip a waste of time.
“She was very supportive and I’m glad we made it worth her while.”
When the Creative Arts Emmy Award nominations were announced in July, Chrissy predicted John would win and joked she’d have to move her own Spike TV Award to make way for an Emmy statuette, but the ‘Glory’ hitmaker insisted that won’t be necessary.
He joked: “We have plenty of room at the house. We’ll make room for all the trophies.”

Penn Badgley was ‘molested’ by fans

OHMYGOSSIP — Penn Badgley has “literally been molested” because of his fame.
The former ‘Gossip Girl’ actor has been the object of “pretty full-on obsession” because of life in the spotlight and admitted some fans have taken things too far when they have been face-to-face with their idol.
He said: “I think as an actor you can become an object of desire, which is something women are already accustomed to more or less around the world – I’ve definitely been, I mean I don’t want to sound sensationalist, but I’ve literally been molested – just in the literal sense of the word – by many people in the moment. Because that’s what they do.”
The 31-year-old actor – who can next be seen playing stalker Joe in ‘You’ – admitted the #MeToo movement and men who have been affected by it, such as Terry Crews, has caused him to reconsider those experiences.
He added in an interview with The Daily Beast: “And it’s interesting to even hear you have that reaction, like ‘I’m sorry,’ because I didn’t even think of it that way then.
“You’re led as a man, particularly, that when it happens you should feel great about it. Particularly when it comes from someone who’s feasibly an object of your desire as well.
“And I think that’s the interesting thing about this show, is that Joe looks like me, he acts and talks like me to a degree, so I think the audience is supposed to be like, ‘Aw that might be nice if someone was that infatuated with me.’ ”
After ‘Gossip Girl’ came to an end in 2012, Penn took a two-year break from acting and admitted he has “questioned” his career choice.
He said: “I definitely had to question if I wanted to keep doing what I’ve been doing. But I’m excited–I think.”

Lady Gaga felt ugly

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga felt “ugly” at school.
The 32-year-old singer-and-actress – whose real name is Stefani Germanotta – relates to the aspiring singer, Ally, who she portrays in ‘A Star is Born’ because of her own self-doubt, which stemmed from being bullied when she was young.
She told Variety: “I see so much of myself when I was younger, when I did not believe in myself, when I was bullied in school, I felt ugly, and my only escape was music and that’s why I started to sing and write songs and act was because I wanted an escape from all of that pain.
“Little Stefani right now, she’s very humbled and she’s very surprised.”
Though the ‘Edge of Glory’ singer felt pressured to live up to expectations when she first found fame, she’s always done things her own way and stayed true to herself.
She said: “I always flipped it on its head. If they wanted me to look sexy, I wanted to look weird. I always wanted to define what it meant to be me and I always had something to say and I always made sure that no one stood in my way when I wanted to say it.”
But it was still “very important” to Gaga that her character was different to her real self.
She added: “Ally goes through these things as well as she’s navigating her career, and it was very important to me that this character was completely different from me.
“I hope the message of love between them and believing in someone…A hundred people there could be in one room and 99 don’t believe in you, but just one believes and it can change your whole life and Jackson believes in Ally and his belief in her changes her life.”

James Van Der Beek’s agony over wife’s miscarrages

OHMYGOSSIP — James Van Der Beek’s wife has had three miscarriages.
The former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star – who has five kids, Olivia, seven, Joshua, six, Annabel, four, Emilia, two, and three-month-old Gwendolyn with spouse Kimberly – shared a heartfelt post on the subject on his Instagram account, in which he hit out at the terminology used to describe losing a child during pregnancy and insisted no one should be blamed for the heartbreaking situation.
Alongside a photo of himself, his wife and their baby daughter, he wrote: “Wanted to say a thing or two about miscarriages… of which we’ve had three over the years (including right before this little beauty).
“First off – we need a new word for it. “Mis-carriage”, in an insidious way, suggests fault for the mother – as if she dropped something, or failed to “carry.” From what I’ve learned, in all but the most obvious, extreme cases, it has nothing to do with anything the mother did or didn’t do. So let’s wipe all blame off the table before we even start.(sic)”
The 41-year-old actor went on to discuss the agonising grief he’d experienced and urged people to recognise and embrace the changes caused by the situation.
He continued: “Second… it will tear you open like nothing else. It’s painful and it’s heartbreaking on levels deeper than you may have ever experienced. So don’t judge your grief, or try to rationalize your way around it. Let it flow in the waves in which it comes, and allow it it’s rightful space.
“And then… once you’re able… try to recognize the beauty in how you put yourself back together differently than you were before.
“Some changes we make proactively, some we make because the universe has smashed us, but either way, those changes can be gifts.
“Many couples become closer than ever before.
“Many parents realize a deeper desire for a child than ever before. And many, many, many couples go on to have happy, healthy, beautiful babies afterwards (and often very quickly afterwards – you’ve been warned.”
And James encouraged his fans and followers to join in a discussion on the subject.
He concluded: “I’ve heard some amazing metaphysical explanations for them, mostly centering around the idea that these little souls volunteer for this short journey for the benefit of the parents… but please share whatever may have given you peace or hope along the way… Along with a new word for this experience. #miscarriage #WeNeedANewName #MoreCommonThanYouHearAbout @vanderkimberly (sic)”

Kevin Kennedy’s ‘scary’ time on Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Kennedy found it “incredible” and “scary” to watch ‘Coronation Street’ evolve over 20 years.
The 57-year-old actor played Weatherfield favourite Curly Watts on the ITV soap from 1983 to 2003, and he admits it was “a privilege” to be on the programme alongside a “strong cast” and “tremendous” writers and see the show grow from two episodes.
He said: “‘Corrie’ was just a brilliant experience from beginning to end. I’ve been a theatre actor for a good couple of years now and when I left drama school that’s all I wanted to do – to be a jobbing actor and make a living at it.
“Being famous didn’t really come into the equation for me. And when Corrie came along and everything that goes with it, I wouldn’t change it for the world.
“I was part of a very good, strong cast, and some tremendous writers, and I loved the fact it was such a tight knit group of people who just excelled at what they did. When I started we were still only doing two episodes a week.
“To watch it evolve over 20 years was incredible, scary, interesting and mostly a privilege.”
Kevin would love to reprise his role as Curly and thinks there is a “great story” to be told of his character and the current crop of cobbles stars.
He added to website I Love Manchester: “Without a doubt. It’s no secret I’d love to go back to Corrie, purely for artistic reasons.
“My character was multifaceted and had lots of different angles to him and I think it would be fascinating to see the story of what he’s been up to since leaving Weatherfield and also for him to interlink with the current cast.
“I think it would be a great story and most importantly, fun for the viewers to watch.”
Kevin recently admitted he is keen to explore what happened with Curly’s relationship with wife Raquel Watts – who was portrayed by Sarah Lancashire – and hinted he could return with an on-screen son and daughter.
He said: “I mean, did he see Raquel again? What happened to his daughter and his son Ben?”

Eminem breaks chart record

OHMYGOSSIP — Eminem has set a new record with his ninth consecutive chart-topping album in the UK.
The 45-year-old rapper surprised everyone when he dropped his latest record ‘Kamikaze’ out of nowhere this month, and he has broken a 36 year UK Official Chart record which he previously held with ‘Mamma Mia’ hitmakers Abba.
He joked: “Does this mean I can call myself Sir Eminem?”
In the US it means he is now tied with Garth Brooks and Rolling Stones in fifth on the all-time chart toppers rankings, behind only Elvis Presley (10), Barbara Streisand and Bruce Springsteen (11 each), Jay-Z (14) and The Beatles (19).
Each of his nine Number One albums all debuted in the top spot, and he’s now the fourth act of the year – including BTS, Logic and Migos – to have two Number One albums in less than 12 months’ time, as this latest success follows 2017’s ‘Revival’.
The hip hop star – whose real name is Marshall Mathers III – isn’t resting on his laurels though, as it was revealed he is already back in the studio working on more fresh material.
Shady Records-signed producer Mr. Porter told Skoglund16 TV: “Right now, he in there working. We doing something else right now, but trust me, we’ll get to it.
“I’ll tell you this: I wouldn’t wanna be [Machine Gun Kelly]. It’s great that you took that opportunity and did that, hey, kudos to you, good for you.
“The one thing that I’m worried about . . . You remember when Thanos threw that whole planet at Iron Man? [It will be like that].”
Eminem decided to get back in the studio after Machine Gun Kelly, 28, released his diss track ‘Rap Devil’ in response to his newly-released song ‘Not Alike’.

Richard Ashcroft says music is the ‘most powerful art form in the world’

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Ashcroft has described music as “the most powerful at form in the world”.
The former Verve front man – who has unveiled his new single ‘Surprised By The Joy’ on Monday morning (10.09.18) – has gushed over the impact music can have as something to unite people at a time where so many feel divided.
Speaking to Chris Evans on BBC Radio 2, he said: “This is why music is still the most powerful art form in the world. It’s something that unifies us, it’s not something that polarises us.
“And right now, that’s what these gigs – great concerts, great artists – that’s all we’ve got really, because everything else just seems to separate us. Music’s really powerful right now, and really important more than ever. I’m excited to be part of it.”
The 46-year-old singer will release his new solo album ‘Natural Rebel’ next month, and he has explained what inspired him with his latest track.
He added: “I think this song is about that in a way, as I look on a personal level. There’s so much going on in the world, there’s so much stuff that’s polarising us, dividing us – so much fear.
“And you drown in that, you forget sometimes, and when you get out of that very simple things just give you that joy. It’s like, I’m born again every morning.”
After his fifth solo album is released on October 19, Richard will head out on a sold-out five night UK tour, featuring shows at Glasgow’s Barrowlands, on October 26 Middlesborough Town Hall (28), Nottingham’s iconic Rock City venue (29), the Albert Hall in Manchester (31) and a final night at the Kentish Town Forum in London on November 2.
