Jamie Oliver confronts would-be burglar

OHMYGOSSIP — James Oliver chased a would-be burglar and pinned him to the ground until police arrived.
The 43-year-old chef has been hailed a “hero” by his neighbours in Highgate, north London, for his “selfless” behaviour in apprehending the unnamed man after he tried to break into his home.
While Jamie – who has five children, Poppy, 16, Daisy, 15, Petal, nine, Buddy, seven, and two-year-old River, with wife Jools – held down the man, other local residents called police.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It was just a brave, selfless thing to do.
“Despite the clearly very hairy situation, Jamie was laughing and joking with the coppers saying they’d done a great job to arrive so quickly after the 999 call.
“Everyone is really thankful for his quick thinking and courage.”
Jamie was at home with his family when he confronted the would-be burglar last Tuesday (04.09.18).
The source said: “Jamie was alerted to something wrong when he heard a massive commotion coming from his neighbour’s house.
“He was set to investigate but before he knew it, he was face to face with the burglar himself as he tried to smash his way into his house as well.
“Jamie went absolutely mad and sprinted after the man down the street before catching up with him and pinning him down to the floor.”
Police have confirmed an “aggressive man” was arrested but later released without charge.
A spokesperson said: “At 7.13pm on Tuesday, September 4, police were called to reports of an aggressive male attempting to gain entry to residential addresses in N6.
“The male was apprehended by members of the public and was subsequently detained by police.
“He was taken to a north London police station and was subsequently released with no further action.”

Denise Richards’ 24-hour wedding dress

OHMYGOSSIP — Denise Richards’ wedding dress designer had just 24 hours to create her gown.
The 47-year-old actress tied the knot with Aaron Phypers on Saturday (08.09.18), just days after they got engaged, and Mark Zunino has praised the star for her “calm personality” as it helped im and his team get the outfit together quickly.
He said: “With a 24-hour turnaround there wasn’t a moment to spare. Denise’s calm personality gives a wonderful vibe of confidence, which immediately rubbed off on my team. They would do anything for a client they love and respect.”
The ‘World Is Not Enough’ actress opted for a high-low white dress featuring a lace strapless romper and a tulle skirt and luckily, she fit into an archived sample garment as her original idea would have taken too long to make.
Mark explained to ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “When I met with Denise and Aaron, she had several images of my gowns of interest but had one specifically in mind. It was a romper (a true romper a.k.a. shorts, not a mini-dress) of an Italian laser-cut 3D floral pattern on silk illusion, over nude with hand beadwork.
“The problem was it takes 3-4 weeks to get that fabric from Europe, and, at minimum, one week of labour with three seamstresses working around the clock.
“I mentioned to Denise the possibility of having her try on my archived original runway sample. It was brand new, having only been worn five minutes during its catwalk debut, but was in a customised model size that was extremely small.
“We slipped it on Denise. Aaron’s eyes lit up. Denise had an enormous smile, and said, ‘This is it!’ ”
The designer added some personal touches to the gown to give it a more “romantic” appearance.
He said: “Denise is so incredibly beautiful, simplicity is best for her. We decided to add some silk floral scattering on the layered silk organza overskirt. I hand painted faint white flowers, intermingled with the silk flowers, to achieve a delicate, romantic look. Denise and Aaron are both so extremely relaxed, easy going and genuinely sweet. The relaxed aesthetic of the romper with detachable over-skirt was the perfect look of sexy sophistication, playful and ultimately romantic.”

Joe Tracini opens up about suicidal thoughts

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Tracini suffers from suicidal thoughts which write off “whole days”.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ star – who plays Dennis Savage on the Channel 4 soap – has opened up about nearly taking his own life six years ago and admits that while the years have passed “it doesn’t mean the thoughts have gone”, and he has an “underlying shame and fear” when he is experiencing “any moment of happiness”.
To highlight World Suicide Prevention Day (10.09.18), Joe wrote on Twitter: “Hello you. I’ve written this for anyone, like me, that’s living with suicidal thoughts, and to try and make sense of them for anyone that isn’t x
#WorldSuicidePreventionDay (sic)”
In the piece, he wrote: “It’s been 6 years since I stood on top of a bridge, staring at the London skyline, considering what my life and soul were worth.
“But just because the years have passed, it doesn’t mean the thoughts have gone. They still come, and they still go.
“If you’re like me and feel like that sometimes, the most important thing to take from this is that they ALWAYS go.
“See it, recognise it, accept that it’s there if you can, and try and wait it out. Sometimes I have to write off whole days.
“I’ve had the luxury of many years of therapy, so I have lots of things to try and do to get through it. But often, that’s not enough. I just have to go “ok. You’re here today then”, and I tell somebody, and I wait (sic)”
Joe admitted it is “really hard” to tell someone that he feels like taking his own life, and such feelings can come on when he is “absolutely fine”.
He wrote: “The moments I’m not thinking about killing myself far out way the moments that I am. But when they’re there, they’re alone. Very flat. Unfeeling. Kill yourself.
“I can be absolutely fine, then for the slightest reason (often no reason at all), I’ll skip the entire spectrum of human emotion, straight to the end. Kill yourself (sic)”
Joe admits he is “terrified” and “ashamed” about feeling happy, which leaves him “exhausted”.
He added: “There is underlying shame and fear within any moment of happiness. As if the thoughts are asleep, and I’m scared that it’ll wake them up. That they might hear my happy and be like, “LADS, he’s feeling good, let’s do this.”
“Imagine that, being terrified and ashamed of feeling ok. It is exhausting (sic)”
In May, Joe opened up about previously contemplating suicide in a piece for Mental Health Week, and revealed he had been diagnosed with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder, also known as Borderline Personality Disorder.
He wrote: “I was a drug addict. I don’t do drugs now. I was an alcoholic. I don’t drink now. I was suicidal. I’m alive. If you are, or have been, any of those things, know now that I am proof that, even if it’s only for a limited period of time, change is possible.”

John Simm would ‘love’ to return to Doctor Who

OHMYGOSSIP — John Simm would love to star opposite Jodie Whittaker in ‘Doctor Who’.
The 48-year-old actor has played The Master in the sci-fi series on and off from 2007, and the ‘Life on Mars’ star says it would be a “pleasure and a joy” to reprise his role on the show because he thinks Jodie, who has been cast as the first-ever female Time Lord, is “fantastic”.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, John – who last appeared in ‘Doctor Who’ in 2017 – said: “I have no idea but if they asked me I’d absolutely consider it because she’s fantastic.
“It’s always a pleasure and a joy to go back and do that show and be that guy.”
John’s latest role will see him star in ITV’s compelling new thriller ‘Strangers’ – which follows his alter-ego, sociology lecturer Jonah Mulray, whose life is thrown in into turmoil when his wife dies in a car crash in Hong Kong – and the actor thinks the twists and turns in the plot will captivate audiences.
Speaking to the i newspaper, he said: “I’ve got form when it comes to wandering around looking confused in a city I don’t seem to recognise, maybe that’s why they cast me.
“Jonah is completely bewildered and discombobulated by Hong Kong. He feels very ill at ease. He is an absolute fish out of water.
“He doesn’t speak the language, he hates flying and he’s never been there before. For him, Hong Kong is a very different culture. The city is an assault on the senses. He is an alien landing on another planet.
“Nothing is quite what it seems in this drama and that’s brilliant for the audiences.”
The ‘Mad Men’ star admitted he enjoys playing characters that are in turmoil, because they are more interesting.
John said: “To me they are always the most interesting characters to play; there are many layers to them. You’re the eyes of the audience.
“You’re trying to get people on your side and make this character remarkable even though he’s not.”

Bradley Cooper: I was terrified of directing

OHMYGOSSIP — Bradley Cooper delayed directing a movie because he was “terrified” by the idea.
The 43-year-old actor has made his directorial debut with the new musical romantic drama ‘A Star Is Born’, which features Lady Gaga, and although Bradley has always harboured ambitions to direct, he’s also been reluctant to take the risk.
He confessed: “I always knew I wanted to direct since I was a kid. I was just terrified of it. As I get older, time is the bigger currency.”
Bradley said turning 40 triggered a change of heart, and he came to the conclusion that it’s “time to do it”.
Gaga, 32, relished the experience of working with the Hollywood star, admitting that their friendship made the experience much easier.
She told Variety: “I think Bradley is an incredible filmmaker.
“I have acted before, but I’ve never been the lead actress of a feature film. Every day on set was such a thrill to watch him work. You can see the gears turning while he’s working even when he’s in character.”
Gaga also revealed how Bradley guided her performance in the new movie.
She said: “I had the lines memorised.
“He told me the most important thing was to know what I was trying to say. To tell the story I was trying to tell in the scene. I could just throw it all away and exist in this precise but completely liberating environment. It was not rigid. It was an artistically free experience.”

Vinnie also insisted he’s happy to continue to play the role of a bad boy.
Speaking in 2013, the actor – who previously starred in ‘Snatch’ and ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ – said: “I don’t tire of playing the bad boys. John Wayne was a cowboy – I’m just the badass that bashes everybody up.

Gemma Chan says Crazy Rich Asians is a landmark moment

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Chan thinks the success of ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ represents a landmark moment in Hollywood.
The 35-year-old actress – who parents previously moved from Hong Kong to Britain – has admitted she felt emotional watching her culture being depicted on screen.
Gemma – who stars as Astrid in the romantic comedy – told the Evening Standard newspaper: “I remember just even a few years ago this film would have felt implausible, impossible.
“I felt really emotional the first time I watched it because it’s the first time I’ve seen faces that look like my grandma, my granddad, my mum and dad.
“It was really, really emotional seeing the food that my family ate when we were younger and seeing it on screen for the first time. I feel more optimistic that things can change and shift.”
Meanwhile, Gemma’s ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ co-star Constance Wu recently admitted she doesn’t “think anything through”.
The actress has developed a reputation for being outspoken on a number of issues concerning the Asian-American community and the film business in general.
She said: “I don’t think anything through. I am very impulsive and reactive. I have always been a person who is kind of outspoken, but nobody knew who I was before.
“Now I have this weird thing called fame, and I wasn’t looking for it, I didn’t ask for it, but if you have it, you might as well use it for something good. And the best thing I think I can do is help amplify the voices of people who don’t feel heard.”

Said Taghmaoui cast as Bond 25’s lead villain prior to Danny Boyle’s exit

The 45-year-old actor – who is, perhaps, best-known for starring in the Mathieu Kassovitz-directed ‘La Haine’ – has revealed he’s already accepted the role of the villain in the new movie, although the situation is now uncertain following Boyle’s decision to walk away from ‘Bond 25’ over “creative differences”.
He said: “I’m supposed to do the next James Bond, playing the lead bad guy.”
Said admitted he’s unsure how the movie will develop in light of Boyle’s departure.
He told the National newspaper: “I was cast by Danny Boyle, and just now he left the project, so of course there’s some uncertainty.”
Said confessed he doesn’t know who the new director of the film will be, and the producers may still decide to replace him as the lead villain.
The actor – who also starred in 2017’s ‘Wonder Woman’ – explained: “We don’t know who the director will be, and the producers don’t know if they’re going to go Russian or Middle East with the baddie right now. I literally just received a message saying: ‘If they go Middle East, it’s you. If they go Russian, it’s someone else.’
“It’s the story of my life. Always on that line between something that could change my life and something that disappears.”

Ralph hosted a show and a gala dinner at the Bethesda Terrace fountain in Manhattan’s Central Park in New York City at the weekend as part of New York Fashion Week to celebrate the landmark anniversary.
The star-studded guest list included Anne Hathaway, Blake Lively, Steven Spielberg, Tom Hiddleston, Lily Aldridge, Jessica Chastain and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley among others and many of them took time out to praise Ralph, 78, for his achievements in the fashion world.
‘Molly’s Game’ star Jessica, 41, recalled a story Ralph told her about starting out as a young designer in the city and insisted his ascension to the top of his profession encapsulated what the American dream is.
She said: “The 50th anniversary of Ralph Lauren and how wonderful to be in New York because I remember he told me a story about how he began in New York City making ties. You know his clothes remind me of, they have such an American feel to them, but he really is the epitome of the American Dream when you think about it so it’s beautiful to be here in Central Park.”
‘The Shallows’ actress Blake, 31, thought the best part of the event was Ralph’s family reaction to his historic collection and the love they had for each other.
She said: “The collection was just one of the most stunning collections I’ve ever seen and the most beautiful part was seeing Ralph’s family and seeing Ralph’s family looking at him.
“Which is amazing because there’s so much spectacle happening and like who knew you could make Central Park look more amazing but they have, they’ve dressed up Central Park somehow.

TOWIE stars have 24-hour access to counsellors

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Only Way is Essex’ stars have 24-hour access to counsellors.
Courtney Green and Chloe Meadows have revealed they have both made use of the ITVBe reality show’s psychologists to help them deal with any “tough” storylines they are filming.
Former PA Courtney, 23, said: “We get to talk to them every Friday if we want to.
“And if you need it more, you can have it. Last series I spoke to them every day basically.”
Ex-secretary and part-time barmaid Chloe, 25, added to the Daily Star newspaper: “If you’re involved in a tough storyline they’ll make sure you’re OK. In the past I’ve said: ‘Oh, I’m fine’, but they’ve still said they want me to speak to someone to make sure I’m coping.
“I’ve had the counsellor on FaceTime before. The producers basically want to make sure they look after us.”
The psychologists have been particularly helpful when the girls have been at the receiving end of abuse from social media trolls.
Courtney said: “The psych will talk you through stuff.
“They remind you that the people commenting online don’t know you, they only know what they see on the show.”
‘TOWIE’ follows in the footsteps of ‘Love Island’ in recruiting psychologists to keep an eye on cast members.
Producers of the dating series took precautions following the tragic death of 2016 contestant Sophie Gradon, who sadly took her own life at the age of just 32 in June.
ITV said in a statement: “All islanders are offered psychological support before, during and after their time in the villa. We take our duty of care very seriously.”
‘The Only Way is Essex’ is back on screens for another explosive series, airing on Sundays on ITVBe at 9pm.

Keith Urban had a prosthetic leg thrown at him by a fan

OHMYGOSSIP — Keith Urban once had a prosthetic leg thrown at him by a fan.
The 50-year-old singer – who is married to Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman – has revealed that the bizarre incident occurred after the fan approach him for an autograph.
Keith recalled: “I was at a show years ago and someone from the audience yells out … ‘Would you sign my leg?’ I was like, ‘This is a great moment, sure!’ Come on up here, I’ll sign your leg!'”
But things then took a unlikely turn for Keith, who wasn’t aware of what the signing would entail.
Being interviewed on ‘The Kyle and Jackie O Show’, he said: “They disappeared out of sight for a second and then I could see their head again. (Then) they lob this fricken leg onto the stage!
“So I signed the leg and then I’m like, ‘What’s the correct prosthetic leg-returning etiquette?’ Do you lob it … tell her to hop up there? What do you do? So, the crowd sort of surfed it back to her and she attached it.”
Meanwhile, Keith previously hailed Nicole for forcing him to confront his addiction issues and enter rehab shortly after they married in 2006.
The singer – who has battled with cocaine addiction – said: “My wife put an intervention together – it was love in action.”
Keith also admitted it was a “miracle” that his marriage “survived” the first year because of his troubles.
He said: “I caused the implosion of my fresh marriage. It survived, but it’s a miracle it did.
“I was spiritually awoken with her. I use the expression: ‘I was born into her’, and that’s how I feel. And for the first time in my life, I could shake off the shackles of addiction.”
