Tom Morello praises Rage Against The Machine Christmas campaign

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Morello has praised Rage Against The Machine’s fans for getting ‘Killing In The Name’ into the Christmas Number One spot.
The fiery protest song hit the top of the festive charts in 2009 as a protest against TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ claiming the honour for a fifth successive year.
Asked about the campaign as part of an online fan Q&A, Tom told The Guardian: “The Christmas No 1 was a spectacular example of People Power.
“While the band had very little to do with the dethroning of Simon Cowell’s ‘X Factor’ sugar-s**t, it was a movement of the fans that made it happen.
“The subsequent free show that we performed at Finsbury Park was the single greatest night in the history of RATM and I will remember it forever.”
Speaking about the Christmas campaign at the time, music mogul Simon after ‘X Factor’ winner Joe McElderry was beaten to the top spot.
He said: “I now realise I’ve taken too much for granted. I have got to hold my hands up. I accept there are people that don’t like the X Factor.”
The track first peaked at Number 25 in the UK in 1993 – 16 years before the campaign – and Tom has dismissed the idea that the current generation of music fans are missing their own political anthem, and urged them to either look into underground bands or even form their own.
He added in the live webchat: “Rather than lamenting that there’s no ‘Killing in the Name’ or ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ at the top of the charts, either dig a little deeper, or better, form your own band and write your Killing in the Name. We’d love to hear it.”

Jane Fonda wants to ‘fix’ men

OHMYGOSSIP — Jane Fonda has claimed men are “trained not to be empathetic and emotional”.
The 80-year-old actress has been married three times in the past – to Roger Vadim, Tom Hayden and Ted Turner – before dating Richard Perry from 2009 until last year, but she has insisted it hasn’t put her off the idea of finding a man.
She told the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column: “I haven’t given up on men. Let’s just fix them. They’re trained not to be empathetic and emotional.”
The star also opened up on the #MeToo movement, and insisted powerful men found to be abusing their role don’t deserve to return to that same position.
She said: “Bad guys shouldn’t come back. Let them work at Starbucks. F**k it!
“Poor top executive lost his job? Let him sweep floors until he learns. He doesn’t belong in the boardroom. Plenty of women belong there.”
Jane recently claimed that her life was “defined by the men” around her – including father Henry Fonda, and her three ex husbands – but when she finally started living for herself instead of aiming “to please”, she was able to be the person she was “supposed to be”.
She said: “Up until my sixties, I was to an extent, defined by the men in my life. I was brought up to please. I wanted my father to love me so I would turn myself into a pretzel to be what he wanted me to be, not necessarily what I already was. It took me getting into my sixties, and then I began to become who I was supposed to be all along.”

Tanya Franks studied drunk workers to aid acting

OHMYGOSSIP — Tanya Franks used to study drunk people at London Bridge station on a Friday night to learn how to act intoxicated.
The ‘EastEnders’ actress – who plays Rainie Branning in the BBC One soap – would regularly head to the train station on a weekly basis to see office workers who had been out for the evening “try not to fall on the tracks”, and the tactic taught her a lot about how to portray someone who has had one too many.
Speaking about how to play drunk, she said: “Go to London Bridge station on a Friday night and watch people try not to fall on to the tracks. I used to watch women, all dressed in their office gear, walking along drunk at 11pm. I was thinking they would tip over at any moment and they managed not to.
“So it was about studying other people and their physicality when they’re drunk.”
While Tanya regularly puts in pulsating performances as Rainie in ‘EastEnders’, she is “not a fan” of award ceremonies, and thinks shows should be “creating good work” for audiences to enjoy rather than trying to outdo each other.
She said: “I’m not a fan of awards ceremonies. That’s not the point of this profession – we should be creating good work for an audience to enjoy, not doing it to compete against another show.
“And it’s all completely subjective and political. I’ve always said awards ceremonies are terrible unless you’re the one that’s winning – and even then it’s lovely you or your show has been acknowledged but the other shows are equally as good.”
Tanya’s drunk studying has come in handy while portraying recovering crack cocaine and heroin addict Rainie off her head at times, and the 51-year-old star loves portraying the no-nonsense character.
She added to Metro newspaper: “I am thoroughly enjoying playing Rainie right now. I love the character and the people I’m working with. It’s a great vibe working on ‘EastEnders’ – there’s no egos flying around, it’s a lovely team of people.”
Rainie’s latest storyline has seen her marry Max Branning (Jake Wood) as part of a business deal, only for the pair to fall for each other, and she recently admitted she and Jake “can’t stop laughing” about the plot.
She said: “We really do get on and I think we were both so surprised by this storyline that it was one of those things where we can’t stop laughing about it.
“We surprised each other, and the chemistry has really worked.
“We work in a similar way and we do our homework together sometimes in the studio, so we’re really having a good time.”

Guns N’ Roses have wealth of songs for new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Guns N’ Roses’ first album in 25 years is in good shape as guitarist Slash says he’s writing all the time.
The iconic guitarist hasn’t appeared on a GN’R album since 1993’s ‘The Spaghetti Incident?’, as 2008’s ‘Chinese Democracy’ was recorded by frontman Axl Rose with a host of other musicians.
However, the ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ band’s reunion ‘Not In This Lifetime World Tour’ has been going so well that Slash has been inspired to make new tunes for his band.
On the prospect of releasing another record with the group – also comprised of Duff Mckagan, Dizzy Reed and Richard Fortus – he said: “We want to do something. We’ve been on the road this entire time, we have another leg coming up in November in Asia, then we’re going to start looking at what the next step is going to be.”
And on what’s been providing him with inspiration for the new music, he added: “I write when we’re on the road, in dressing rooms and on the bus, wherever I happen to sit for any span of time.
“I’ve been working on things that have to do with horror movies and thrillers.
“It tends to be orchestrated.
“I was reminded of the significance the band and the records have had for people. That is almost a surreal kind of feeling.
“After being away from it for so long, and going out and having the enthusiasm and love that people have show the band, it’s very humbling.
“You feel very fortunate being involved in a situation that has stood the test of time for so long.”
The 53-year-old rocker says the band have genuinely enjoyed being in one another’s company again.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “There was really great camaraderie from the get go since we got back together. It’s been really healthy”
Slash previously revealed that Axl too has been penning lyrics on the road and that he doesn’t see them calling it a day any soon with the wealth of material they can in the bag.
He said: “I think we’re going to go well on into the future.
“I mean, Axl’s got a ton of s**t that he recorded already, so we’re going to get in there and just start getting into that thing, and then if we do a record and then do a tour, I could see that cycle going on endlessly.”

Rita Ora hits studio with Clean Bandit

OHMYGOSSIP — Clean Bandit appear to be working on a song with Rita Ora.
The British pop trio – comprised of Grace Chatto and brothers Luke and Jack Patterson – shared a short video of the ‘Let You Love Me’ singer in a recording booth on their Instagram Stories on Tuesday (25.09.18).
Rita could be seen dancing along to a track, and the ‘Rather Be’ hitmaker’s cryptically captioned the post: “What is?”
They then followed up the question by asking fans to send in videos of their answer to “what love is”.
They wrote: “We wanna know what love means to you..
“Please DM your videos telling us!”
Grace then says in the next clip: “Love is the opposite of fear.”
The ‘Rockabye’ hitmakers have also teased that their new album is almost complete, but they have invited fans to suggest who they should collaborate with to finish the record off, leaving room for a Rita track.
They tweeted: “Finalising our album! Who should we have on it?”
The chart-topping group previously said they would love to get Madonna on a song after she lip-synced to their Demi Lovato-featuring hit ‘Solo’.
The Queen of Pop shared a clip of her voicing the words on her Instagram celebrate LGBTQ + Pride Month in June, and the trio couldn’t believe it and are now desperate to work with the 60-year-old music icon.
Jake said: “We couldn’t believe that. We’re big fans. We’d love to work with her . . . if she’s reading this.”
The shocked ‘Symphony’ hitmakers replied to Madonna’s message at the time, writing: “OMG glad you’re enjoying Solo @madonna [sic]”
And ‘Tell Me You Love Me’ hitmaker Demi was just as gobsmacked, adding to her account: “THE QUEEN HERSELF SINGING SOLO!!!!! What is life…?!?!!!! [sic]”
The band were thrilled to get Demi, 25, to be their latest guest vocalist, with the American pop star joining a long list of singers who they have collaborated with. Others include Anne-Marie, Jess Glynne and Zara Larsson.
Unfortunately, the trio couldn’t get in the studio with Demi but were able to use modern technology to still achieve a live feel.
Grace explained: “We recorded it over FaceTime. It was crazy. She was in Alabama in a studio and we were over here. You know when the connection is bad and the speed fluctuates? We couldn’t hear that well, but it turned out really well.”

Damon Albarn wished he worked with John Lennon

OHMYGOSSIP — Damon Albarn wishes he could have worked with his idol John Lennon.
The Blur and Gorillaz star says the late Beatles frontman – who was shot dead outside his New York home in 1980, aged just 40 – was the “pivotal influence” in him taking up songwriting when he was at school, particularly Lennon’s 1971 hit solo song ‘Imagine’, which was inspired by his widow Yoko Ono.
Asked if there are any artists he’s not worked with that he would have liked to, Albarn told Rolling Stone magazine: “I would have loved to work with John Lennon, but I was in school when he was shot.
“He was a pivotal influence on me when I was young — his ideas, his attitude, everything. I
” started exploring my own songwriting by playing other people’s songs on the piano, and ‘Imagine’ was one of the most influential songs on me as a songwriter.
“It’s not the coolest song to cite, probably, but it’s the most honest for me.”
The 50-year-old rocker managed to get another one of his heroes, George Benson, to play guitar on the track ‘Humility’ on Gorillaz’s latest LP ‘The Now Now’.
And Damon confessed that the soul legend’s songs soundtracked his “awkward” attempts to as girls on dates when he was a teenager.
Asked if he is a fan of the soul legend, he said: “The sound that he created for songs like [1980’s] ‘Give Me the Night’ is right up there with all the slickest classic Michael Jackson grooves.
“It’s closely associated, for me, with the time when I started trying to ask girls to dance at youth clubs.
“All that horrendously awkward stuff.
“I was about 14, and he was a superstar. But [the music] is even more magnificent because it was the backdrop to that, you know?”

Terry Hartill and Karen Wright eliminated from The Great British Bake Off

OHMYGOSSIP — Terry Hartill and Karen Wright were axed from ‘The Great British Bake Off’ last night (25.09.18).
The 56-year-old former air steward and the 60-year-old sampling assistant were given the boot from the Channel 4 show in the programme’s first-ever double elimination after they failed to impress during Spice Week.
Terry – who missed last week’s episode through illness, resulting in nobody leaving – said afterwards: “If I had gone on week one I would have felt happy to have run the race as far as I did. At week five I knew it was the end of it for me, but not in any way shape or form was I bothered about the result on the day.
“I think it was a fair result of the judges, as it has been throughout the series. It wasn’t the baking result I wanted but that is what it was. It’s all been about how this has been a massive change in my life, it has brought me away from a place that I was in.”
Before the final verdict was revealed, Karen had a feeling she might be getting the chop from the show, and later admitted she made a “lot of silly mistakes”.
She added: “But I kept smiling through them, when you are in that kind of situation you just keep going. I thought if I kept pouring brandy in the ginger cake, I would make it work, but it had the opposite effect and became a brandy cake.”
The bakers were tasked with making a signature ginger cake, shortbread pastries Ma’amoul for the technical part of Spice Week, and a spiced biscuit chandelier as their showstopper.
Mental health specialist Kim-Joy was named as the week’s Star Baker, but judge Paul Hollywood was forced to fly solo during the showstopper challenge after Prue Leith pulled out due to illness.

Chloe Ayling wants to speak to Jermaine Pennant’s wife

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Ayling wants to “speak to” Jermaine Pennant’s wife after claiming she got “intimate” with the footballer whilst in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house.
The 21-year-old model and the married football star – who plans to renew his vows with Alice Goodwin – were seen flirting and getting close during their time on the Channel 5 reality show, and Chloe has insisted she wants to tell Alice her side of the story.
Speaking to The Sun Online whilst at the National Reality Television Awards on Tuesday (25.09.18), Chloe said: “I haven’t seen [Jermaine] since the ‘CBB’ After Party. I didn’t contact his wife after I got out but I would speak to her if I saw her. It’s always better to sort this out in person.
“If I saw her tonight I would speak to her about it.”
As of the time of writing, it’s unknown whether the two women did meet during the evening, although Jermaine and Alice narrowly avoided bumping into Chloe whilst on the red carpet before the event kicked off.
Chloe’s comments come after she previously insisted that she got “caught up in the moment” and did more than kiss the 35-year-old sports star when they shared a bed together on the show – though he has denied her claims.
She said: “When me and Jermaine shared a bed one night in the ‘Big Brother’ house something intimate did happen when I was under the impression he was single, however absolutely nothing has happened between us since finding out he was married during my eviction interview.
“We played the bed swapping game and I ended up with Jermaine. I was wearing a hoodie and knickers and we got under the covers – we each had our own duvet – and we knew we had to be discreet because all the cameras where on us.
“I felt his hands on me and I kind of laughed because I wasn’t expecting it but I let him carry on because at that point I liked him and thought he was single.”

Jason Gardiner and Karen Barber to reunite on Dancing on Ice panel

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Gardiner and Karen Barber are set to reunite on ‘Dancing On Ice’ – seven years after their infamous on-air row.
Former Olympic skater Karen, 57, will return as head coach on the 11th series of the show – which will launch in January 2019 – alongside 46-year-old Jason, despite the pair’s 2011 bust-up, which prompted 3,000 complaints to Ofcom.
Karen – who dates judge Christopher Dean – said: “It’s a joy to return.”
A source told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “There is no love lost between the two of them, and there’s bound to be fireworks. In the past he’s reduced her to tears.”
The pair’s argument stemmed from a comment made by Jason after Karen had been bumped from a role as a judge to one as a coach.
He said: “If your opinion mattered you’d still be on the judging panel.”
Karen replied tearfully: “Jason you really are offensive, you bring so little to this panel.”
In spite of his cutting remarks, Jason has insisted he isn’t a bully and believes referring to him as one trivialises the experiences of real bullying victims.
He said: “As someone severely bullied in my childhood, I know what bullying is like. So to actually discount what the real term bullying is and apply it to what I’m doing on a show, I think really is a disservice to young people now who are experiencing bullying.”
Wes Nelson and Gemma Collins are among the stars expected to get their skates on for the series, which is returning to screens after three years.

Nile Rodgers to assist Louis Tomlinson at Judges’ Houses

OHMYGOSSIP — Nile Rodgers will assist Louis Tomlinson at Judges’ Houses.
The former One Direction hunk needs to whittle down the hopefuls left in his Boys category on ‘The X Factor’ so has enlisted the services of the legendary Chic star to help him select his finalists in the next round of the competition.
And his bandmate Liam Payne will also be joining the pair in Ibiza as they put the contestants through their paces for a place in the live shows.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Liam has been mooted for a while, they are mates, but getting Nile on board is a nice twist.
“He’s got masses of credibility and brings something totally different to the table.”
Though none of the assistants for Judges’ Houses have yet been confirmed, it was previously claimed David Walliams will be helping his fellow ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge Simon Cowell.
A source previously said: “Producers want to push a fun side on the show and know David will bring the comedy and banter, especially with his ribbing of Simon.
“He’s so unpredictable so no doubt he will have some tricks up his sleeve.”
David, 46, may have been shocked to have received the invite from Simon because he previously claimed he never hears from the 58-year-old star when they’re not working on ‘BGT’, even though they get along well during filming.
He has said: “We are friends when the show is being made. He will sort of invite you out for dinner and you think, ‘This is great I am having dinner with Simon Cowell’.
“And then you don’t hear from him for six months when the show is not on and then he will be back in touch in January.”
It was previously revealed that Simon is taking the girls in his category to Los Angeles, while fellow judges Ayda Field and Robbie Williams – who have the Overs and Groups respectively – will also be in the city.

Happy Death Day 2U gets Valentine’s Day release

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Happy Death Day 2U’ will be released on Valentine’s Day next year.
Blumhouse and Universal Pictures have confirmed that the eagerly anticipated sequel to the 2017 American slasher film will drop on the romantic day on February 14.
Jessica Rothe is reprising her role as Tree Gelbman, who had to repeat the day she was murdered over and over again, and Christopher Landon is back as writer-and-director with Jason Blum producing.
Angela Mancuso, John Baldecchi, and Samson Mucke will serve as executive producers and although details of the plot have closely guarded a synopsis has spilled that Tree will discover that: “dying over and over was surprisingly easier than the dangers that lie ahead”.
When previously asked about the sequel, 31-year-old Jessica teased: “The sequel elevates the movie from being a horror movie. And I wouldn’t even say it’s just a horror movie because it’s a horror, comedy, rom-com drama, into a ‘Back to the Future’ type of genre film where the sequel joins us right from where we left off, it explains a lot of things in the first one that didn’t get explained, and it elevates everything.”
Israel Broussard returns as Tree’s boyfriend Carter Davis and Ruby Modine is back as Lori Spengler whilst ‘Life of Pi’ star Suraj Sharma and Sarah Yarkin – last seen in ‘American Horror Story’ – will join the cast as science nerds with a talent for coding.
The first film follows Tree, a college student who experiences déjà vu after waking up on her birthday in the bed of student Carter, played by Israel Broussard.
When a masked killer suddenly takes her life in a brutal attack, she wakes up magically unharmed and must relive the same day over and over until she figures out who murdered her.

Tiffany Haddish and Kevin Hart’s chemistry praised

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish have “amazing chemistry on-screen” in ‘Night School’ because of their close friendship off-screen.
The two comedians star together in the new movie and executive producer James Lopez admits their ability to improvise is incredible and comes from their close relationship.
Speaking to Variety, James said: “Their chemistry is amazing on screen and it’s because of their personal relationship. They came up as comics together, in the scene. No one improvises like they do.”
The film follows high school drop-out Teddy Walker, played by Hart, who is forced to attend evening class to get his high school diploma when he finds himself unemployed after he accidentally blows up his place of employment.
Teddy joins a class of other misfits including his former high school nemesis and it is the job of teacher Carrie, played by Tiffany, who has the responsibility of ensuring her class passes.
And director Malcolm D. Lee – who previously worked with Tiffany on ‘Girls Trip’ – is as fullsome in his praise of the pair as producer James, and the comedic talents of the rest of the ensemble cast, which includes Taran Killam, Rob Riggle, Romany Malco and Megalyn Echikunwoke.
Malcolm said: “For me, my goal, you gotta cast really funny people and that way everyone can elevate their game. It definitely gets competitive. We want that though.
“Ensemble comedies are very tough, and nowadays especially, nobody’s coming out of their house to go see one. So I wanted to make sure we had a lot of options in the editing room.”

Ashton Kutcher gives Rumer Willis ownership of shared home

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashton Kutcher has given ex-stepdaughter Rumer Willis sole ownership of the Hollywood Hills home they shared together.
The 40-year-old actor – who is now married to Mila Kunis – bought the two bedroom, four bathroom property with Rumer back in 2009 when he was still married to his first wife, and Rumer’s mother, Demi Moore, but it seems he’s set on cutting the last few ties he has with his ex, as he’s signed over his half of the home to Rumer, giving her full ownership.
According to The Blast, Ashton – who was married to Demi from 2005 to 2013 – went halves with Rumer when they first purchased the house for a total price of $971,500, and a co-ownership agreement was filed which listed both the ‘That 70s Show’ star and Rumer as the owners.
In documents filed by 30-year-old Rumer – whose father is Demi’s second husband Bruce Willis, whom she was married to from 1987 to 2000 – on August 3, it was revealed that the co-ownership agreement has now been terminated.
They stated: “All debt owing under the note, deed of trust and any related loan documents has been deemed paid and satisfied in full.”
It is unknown whether or not Ashton – who has daughter Wyatt, three, and son Dimitri, 21 months, with Mila – made Rumer fork out any cash to pay him for the half of the home he owned, however The Blast claims property records show the house was recently “sold” for $572,500.
The publication says that the payment went through at around the same time the new grant deed was filed naming Rumer as the sole owner, and as the home is worth far more than the $572,500 it was seemingly sold for, it suggests that price could be what Rumer paid to Ashton for his half.
Meanwhile, in order to part ways with the house entirely, 35-year-old Mila also had to sign a quitclaim deed as a married woman, as her marriage with Ashton gave her rights to the home as well.

Dakota Johnson ‘happy’ with Chris Martin

OHMYGOSSIP — Dakota Johnson is “very happy” in her romance with Chris Martin.
The 28-year-old actress has been dating the Coldplay frontman – who has daughter Apple, 14, and son Moses, 12, from his previous marriage to Gwyneth Paltrow – for just over a year, and whilst she is reluctant to speak publicly about their romance, she has confirmed she’s enjoying her time with the rocker.
Speaking to Tatler magazine for its November issue, the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ star simply said: “I’m not going to talk about it. But I am very happy.”
Whilst Dakota and Chris, 41, might be keeping their romance out of the spotlight, the actress’ parents, Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, have both gushed about their daughter’s relationship.
Melanie said in May: “I adore him! But she is very private about her life and I respect that.”
And Hollywood icon Don previously gave his support to the actress’ romance with the singer, admitting he thought the ‘Viva La Vida’ hitmaker would be “good” for his daughter.
He said: “He’s a lovely guy. I’ve met him and you want your kids happy, no matter what shape it takes.
“That’s the goal, that’s the key. He’s a very talented and gifted musician. I’ve seen them in a concert at a small venue called the Troubadour in Los Angeles when they were first coming out and that was a memorable moment.
“I knew right then he’d be good for her. I said ‘Oh you know, that man has got something going on’.”
Meanwhile, it was recently claimed Dakota and Chris had gotten matching tattoos.
Dakota was spotted at the ‘Suspiria’ photo call at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month sporting a new inking which depicted an infinity sign crossed with two small Xs, whilst the ‘Something Just Like This’ singer was seen with an identical tattoo when he appeared at the launch of S.E.A Jeans in Los Angeles around the same time.

Heidi Klum teases Halloween costume

OHMYGOSSIP — Heidi Klum has teased this year’s extravagant Halloween costume.
The 45-year-old model has become known for the stunning and intricate costumes she dons for the spooky holiday celebrated on October 31, and has taken to Instagram to reveal this year’s design is already underway.
Heidi posted a video on the photo sharing site on Tuesday (25.09.18) which showed a prosthetic mould being made of the lower half of the beauty’s face, as well as her neck and shoulders.
She captioned the clip: “Getting ready for #heidiklumhalloween2018 @prorenfx (sic)”
The ‘America’s Got Talent’ judge always keeps her costume a secret until the big reveal at her annual Halloween party, so fans will have to wait a little longer to see what the prosthetics are going to be used for.
Last year, Heidi paid homage to Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ music video when she dressed as a werewolf, and admitted she had been planning the outfit since June.
She said at the time: “I like to keep it fun, you know. I usually start planning in June. It’s not just going to be just getting dressed easily, I always have a lot of prosthetics done with these amazing people that do this for me.”
And speaking the day before Halloween last year, the blonde beauty said she would spend a whopping six hours getting into costume on the big day.
She said: “Tomorrow I’m going to be there for six hours gluing all this stuff on. I have a lot of stuff being glued, yeah. Because last year I didn’t do anything, I was me with five clones, which I thought was just a fun idea.”
In 2016, Heidi hired five other women to accompany her to her party, who all donned synthetic replicas of her own face to create an army of Heidi Klums.
Speaking about her costume at the time, she said: “This came about because everyone always says, ‘How do you juggle it all? How do you juggle it all?’ I’m always thinking, ‘I wish there were more of me so I could have it much easier.’ One could stay at home, the other one could go work! So that’s how it happened! It’s six-times me today!”
Previously, the ‘Project Runway’ host also stunned party-goers in a prosthetic heavy Jessica Rabbit costume.
