Kate Moss wasn’t Mario Sorrenti’s muse

OHMYGOSSIP — Mario Sorrenti says Kate Moss wasn’t his muse when he snapped photos of her during their relationship in the early 90s.
The 46-year-old photographer recently released ‘Kate’, a new book of previously unpublished images of the iconic model which were shot whilst the pair were dating, and although many people regard Kate as Mario’s muse, he says they were simply “boyfriend and girlfriend taking pictures”.
In an interview with Vogue magazine, he said: “You know, it’s funny – a lot of people talk about Kate as my muse, but really for us we were just boyfriend and girlfriend – and now friends – taking pictures.
“We were really young, like kids, I was 19 and she was 17. We would crash out on people’s couches so we could be together, and I’m taking pictures all the time.
“Kate, as a model, started to look at what she did differently because, I guess, she started to understand the passion behind photography. Slowly our knowledge of it grew together.”
The Italian photographer met the fashion icon, now 44, whilst shooting a commercial in London in 1991, and says his “heart stopped” when he saw her for the first time.
He added: “We were modelling together for the same commercial – I think it was something really cheesy like a hair product or Dentyne.
“My heart just, like, stopped and I kind of clammed up. I was shy and didn’t have a lot to say. But she was very sweet and talkative.”
The pair dated until 1994, and split after Kate claimed Mario’s “obsession” with his worked spilled over into their relationship.
Despite the romance not working out, the former couple have remained good friends to this day.

Donatella Versace: ‘I am not going anywhere’

OHMYGOSSIP — Donatella Versace has promised fans she isn’t “going anywhere” – despite the Versace fashion brand being sold to Michael Kors.
The 63-year-old Italian designer recently announced the eponymous fashion label – which was founded by her late brother Gianni Versace in 1978 – had been sold to US clothing and handbags group Michael Kors for a whopping $2.1 billion.
And although fans of the brand are worried the new parent company will take over the iconic Italian brand, Donatella – who is the vice president and chief designer at the label – has insisted “Versace will remain Italian”.
Posting a professionally shot picture of herself on Instagram, Donatella wrote: “Ciao a tutti! You all know how I love the interaction that I have with all of you here. First of all, I wanted to let you know that I am NOT going anywhere, so for those who wanted to get rid of me, well…it ain’t happening!
“I also wanted to reassure you that Versace will remain Italian, made in Italy and that it will keep its glamour, daring and inclusive attitude that have made you all love it. This is just the beginning of an exciting, new adventure that I hope you will live together with me! Xoxo (sic)”.
According to Bloomberg, Michael Kors – which is changing its corporate name to Capri Holding Ltd – hope to more than double the Italian brands sales with $2 billion in revenue by selling more accessories and footwear under the Versace label.
In a statement released by Donatella earlier this week, the designer added: “It has been more than 20 years since I took over the company along with my brother Santo and daughter Allegra.
“I am proud that Versace remains very strong in both fashion and modern culture. Versace is not only synonymous with its iconic and unmistakable style, but with being inclusive and embracing of diversity, as well as empowering people to express themselves.”
Versace recently unveiled its spring/summer 2019 collection at Milan Fashion Week with a star-studded catwalk show featuring Shalom Harlow, Kaia Gerber, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski.
The show featured an artful mismatch of bold prints plaids and stripes in both block colours and floral sheer prints.
Guests such as Nicki Minaj, Rita Ora, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Luke Evans – who sported the house’s signature barocco print – graced the front row of the show.

Emilia Clarke’s haircut inspired by fellow stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Emilia Clarke has chopped her hair short after being inspired by Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow.
The 31-year-old actress took to Instagram on Thursday (27.09.18) to debut her freshly cut locks, and joked the pixie crop was inspired by both Brad and Gwyneth, whom she says sported the same ‘do in the 90s.
The ‘Game of Thrones’ actress posted a photo of herself wearing minimal make-up and wearing a hairdresser’s gown fresh from her trim.
She wrote alongside the snap: “Me: I’m thinking when Gwyneth and Brad had the same haircut. @jennychohair: I got ‘chu #nowijustneedanextra2feetoflegs @jennychohair I would follow you into any battle anytime anywhere #fortheloveofthelowmaintenance. (sic)”
The ‘Me Before You’ actress was flooded with supportive comments from fans who loved her new look.
One user wrote: “You always look stunning…Whatever you do….You’re beautiful as always. (sic)”
Another said: “Oh my god!! it looks so cute I love it!!! It definitely suits yu! Ly kween. (sic)”
Short hair isn’t the only change the ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ star has made to her body recently either, as she also got three dragons tattooed on her wrist to mark the end of hit HBO series ‘Game of Thrones’.
Emilia played mother of dragons Daenerys Targaryen on the show, and was left devastated when it wrapped filming for good earlier this year, so had her on-screen “babies” – dragons named Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion – inked on her wrist.
Taking to her Instagram account, the beauty uploaded a photograph of her new body art and captioned it: “MOD 4 LYFE!!!!@_dr_woo_ made sure this mamma ain’t NEVER forgetting her babies…. #dontworryionlybrieflypassedout
#withfyreandinkbaby #modgothookedupp #couldntbehappierifitried (sic)”
Emilia recently admitted that she had an “existential crisis” when she shot her final scene for the drama – which airs its final season next year – and she and the rest of the cast couldn’t stop sobbing.
She said: “It’s bittersweet, we’ve all done a lot of crying. There’s been a lot of crying on set … Existential crisis, like, legit, where you’re like, ‘What?'”

Ayda Field and Robbie Williams host baby welcome party

OHMYGOSSIP — Ayda Field and Robbie Williams have thrown a party to introduce their new baby to their friends.
The couple welcomed daughter Coco into the world via a surrogate earlier this month and they staged a special pink-themed celebration to show off the tot at upmarket bakery Ladurée in Beverly Hills, California, on Thursday (27.09.18).
Ayda’s friend Terri Seymour shared a photo of her pal cradling her daughter – whose face was covered by a heart emoji – and surrounded by pink-clad pals and wrote on Instagram: “We love you @aydafieldwilliams! [heart emoji] Welcome to the world sweet baby Coco [heart emojis]”
Another of Ayda’s friends, Crystal Kung, also shared photos from the bash, revealing ‘Candy’ hitmaker Robbie also stuck to the dress code in his pastel coloured suit, while the ‘Loose Women’ panellist’s mum Gwen could also be seen in one of the images.
She captioned the photo selection: “God was in love when he made you, Baby Coco. We are honored to host your welcome party today!(sic)”
Her fellow party host Zoe de Givenchy referenced the lyrics of Robbie’s song ‘Angels’ in a post about the bash.
She wrote: “Welcome to this wonderful world sweet baby Coco! You know you’ll always be blessed with love [music note emoji] (sic)”
Delighted Ayda praised the celebration as the best party ever.
She commented: “Best welcome to world party ever. thank you [heart emojis] (sic)”
The 39-year-old actress – who also has Teddy, five, and Charlie, three, with her husband – revealed the new addition to her family in a surprise Instagram post earlier this month.
She wrote alongside a photo of Robbie’s hand being touched by his three kids: “I spy with my little eye an extra little hand … So we have been keeping a very special secret! We are delighted to share with you that we have had a baby girl….welcome to the world Colette (Coco) Josephine Williams!!
“It has been a very long and difficult path to get here, which is why we have kept it on the down low. Family comes in all forms, and this little lady, who is biologically ours, was carried by an incredible surrogate mother, to whom we will be eternally grateful. We are over the moon to have this beautiful baby girl in our lives and so blessed that we live in a world which makes this possible. As with Teddy and Charlie, we ask that you respect Coco’s privacy and allow us to grow into our new team of 5! #TeamWilliams (sic)”

Jon Clark suspended from The Only Way is Essex

OHMYGOSSIP — Jon Clark has been suspended from ‘The Only Way is Essex’.
The 28-year-old star was reportedly sent back to Essex on Thursday (27.09.18) and banned from appearing in the rest of the series after he allegedly slapped James ‘Diags’ Bennewith following a row over a girl in Tup Tup nightclub in Newcastle.
A source told The Sun Online: “Jon and Diags were both chatting up the same girl in the club. Things started to get pretty competitive between the pair. A fight broke out and Jon slapped Diags before they were pulled apart. Jon said he only lashed out because Diags slapped him first.”
The brawl wasn’t caught on camera at the time but producers are said to be furious about the public spat and will not tolerate aggressive behaviour between the cast.
The insider explained: “They weren’t filming at the time but producers found out and Jon has been sent home today. Bosses are really unhappy.”
Diags is reportedly “reeling and really upset” about Jon’s outburst.
A friend of his told the publication: “Diags was punched in the face by Jon.
“He’s reeling and feels really upset.”
However, a spokesperson for Jon has claimed that he’s decided to take a break from the show anyway because he’s going through “a lot of stuff in his personal life.”
They said: “Jon and Diags had a row over some things Diags had said about Jon to a girl they both know. She was in the club and Jon confronted Diags about it. They got into a row in the club. Jon is going through a lot of stuff in his personal life at the moment and wants to take a break from being on the show to focus on his family and helping his sister with her daughter, as well as his business Essex Tints. This has been in discussion with the show for some time now and is part of a wider plan for Jon.”

John Torode snubs Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — John Torode has turned down ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ “a few times.”
The 53-year-old celebrity chef has revealed he’s been approached by bosses of the ballroom and latin show on more than one occasion in the past – and even had meetings with them and visited the set – but he’s got no desire to slip into a sparkly number and show off his snake hips and fancy footwork any time soon.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: “I’ve been asked a few times. I’ve done the secret walk through the corridors and the secret rooms, with the secret meetings, and I’ve done all that sort of stuff. But no, at the moment, no.”
However, although he’s got no desire to follow in his ‘MasterChef’ co-judge Gregg Wallace’s footsteps after he took part in the BBC One show in 2014, John hasn’t completely ruled out reality TV as he has admitted he’s “intrigued” by shows like ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ and ‘Bear Grylls: The Island’.
He explained: “I sometimes look at things such as ‘I’m A Celeb’ and ‘The Island’ and stuff like that. Some of those things intrigue me. I’d love going to the Outback in Australia, and being given a horse and a billycan and told, ‘Right, off you go for a couple of weeks. Go and have a nice time and see if you can survive’.”
However, John will need to make sure he takes some chaffing cream with him if he does join the jungle one day as he recently admitted that he suffers with a sweaty bum crack and has to rub all-purpose flour into the crevice.
He said: “It happens when you get really hot and the sweat drips down your back and the only place it can go to is the crack in your bum. And then the sweat dries and becomes salty and it chafes together and you get chef’s arse.”

Police called to Cher’s house

OHMYGOSSIP — A man was arrested at Cher’s house on Thursday (27.09.18).
The 72-year-old singer was not at the abode in Malibu when Ventura County detectives visited the property to speak to a 23-year-old man – who is reportedly the son of her assistant – in relation to a recent drug overdose in Thousand Oaks, California.
Sgt. Eric Buschow confirmed to People magazine: “The target of the search warrant is Donovan Ruiz. His arrest is related to a narcotics overdose that occurred within the last two weeks.”
The officer stressed that Cher had nothing to do with the incident, which involved multiple patrol cars, fire trucks and ambulances.
Garo Kuredjian, a captain with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, told the publication that investigators believed the man had supplied narcotics to the victim, who overdosed in September.
Police are still serving the search warrant at the property and Ruiz has been taken into custody.
The ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ hitmaker is currently on the Australian leg of her world tour.
The ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ star recently admitted she loves to be “grubby” and shed her glamorous image when she’s at home.
She said: “It’s not a difference in exactly who I am, but it’s a heightened reality. You know, you can’t go around being glamorous Cher all the time.
“I go around just in my sweatpants. I don’t go around in makeup, I have my hair in a ponytail — I like my off time.
“I like not being glamorous. I like just being grubby.”
And Cher doesn’t “care” if people laugh at her for wearing her clothes many times.
She said: “I go around at home like I’m just raggedy. Clean, but slobby. I’ve got shirts – my favourite shirt is 30 years old. As a matter of fact, people have pictures chronicling this shirt for a million years, and I don’t care, and I don’t care how many times I wear it. One of the things I really hate and just p**ses me off is: Because everything is disposable … Once I wear this, I’ll never be able to wear it again. But that’s dumb. I don’t want to play that; that’s a young girl’s game.”

Emmerdale to air ‘fantasy episode’ after Chas and Paddy’s baby’s death

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Emmerdale’ will air a “fantasy episode” next week where Paddy Kirk and Chas Dingle’s dying daughter Grace will be seen as a toddler and teenager.
Dominic Brunt – who plays the bumbling vet in the long-running soap – has urged viewers to tune into Monday (01.10.19) night’s episode because they will be taken into the future and get to see the little one’s life if she had survived.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Friday (28.09.18), he said: “It’s an incredible episode, it’s done very cleverly. Very early on, Lucy had a line that said: ‘If this baby lives for three seconds, or three minutes or 30 minutes, that’s her life and we have to give her the best life we possibly can.’
“So it’s kind of a fantasy episode where we jump into the future, where she’s three and 12 and she has a life. It’s not as depressing as it sounds!”
Viewers have spent the past nine months watching the couple come to terms with the fact that their daughter wouldn’t survive for very long outside of the womb after it was picked up at Chas’ (Lucy Pargeter) 20-week scan that she was suffering from bilateral renal agenesis.
Dominic explained: “I think the writers and producers have treated it with real reverence. They’ve not exploited it in anyway, they’ve done it really delicately and it’s been hard to read. They’ve done a really great job on it.
“I’m not sure if I’d tune into an episode where the end is the death of the baby but they’ve really turned it round and given it real love, real hope and it really is incredible and I urge everybody to tune in.
“It goes in real time from the birth to the end and it’s done with real love.”
The 48-year-old actor found it particularly hard to shoot the storyline because his own son Danny, now nine, had to undergo life-saving surgery at eight months old.
He explained: “It’s resonated an awful lot as a parent … I think even if you weren’t a parent – just as a human being – that situation would affect you but I suppose I can mirror that scenario. He’s nine now but he was eight months at the time.
“It was mother’s instincts because the doctors said he was fine, he’s got a hole in the heart which is quite common but it wasn’t and Jo, my wife, just knew.
“I kept saying: ‘Listen to the doctors, they know what they’re doing.’ And she said: ‘Absolutely not, I’m going for a second opinion.’ And she was right!”

Alison Hammond wants to host Lorraine

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison Hammond wants to host ‘Lorraine’.
The 43-year-old television star has become a fan favourite since she joined ‘This Morning’ 16 years ago following her memorable stint on ‘Big Brother’ back in 2002 and, although she’s interviewed some of the big names in Hollywood and chased after royalty during that time, she has admitted her ultimate goal is to stand in for Lorraine Kelly one day when she’s on holiday or off sick.
Speaking on the early-morning breakfast show today (28.09.18), Alison said: “If you want me to stand in for you at any time, I’ll be here.”
To which Lorraine, 58, replied: “Alison, that’s a brilliant idea.
“What a great idea, we shall make that happen.”
As well as impressing viewers with her comedic outbursts, Alison has also won over the hearts of Hugh Jackman and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
She explained: “I forget that I’m on TV and then I become Alison.
“Most of these celebrities, they’re in these rooms ding these interviews. They kind of want to enjoy themselves and I think they just go with it.”
And even the interviews that don’t go according to plan turn out to be a success as her giggly exchange with Harrison Ford ended up going viral.
She said: “I just don’t think he’s into doing the interviews. He’s an older guy. I think I was just being really cheeky. It was a kind of crazy time to be honest with you. I think I’ve done much better interviews than that.
“I don’t think I got any content. I think I went back to ‘This Morning’ and said ‘listen guys, I don’t think we got anything with this one, might as well shelf it.’ They were like ‘no we’ll do something with it.’
“It was just us laughing, and that went viral. It just shows that people nowadays want to laugh and want to smile and if I can give people that that’s brilliant.”

The BBC pays tribute to Postman Pat creator John Cunliffe following his death

OHMYGOSSIP — The BBC has paid tribute to John Cunliffe following his death last week.
The broadcaster has released a statement praising the ‘Postman Pat’ creator on his work over the past 40 years after it was announced that he had sadly passed away near his home of Ilkley, West Yorkshire, on September 20 at the age of 85.
Director of BBC Children’s Alice Webb said in a tribute: “We are saddened to hear the news of John’s death.
“‘Postman Pat; has been a hugely popular character on the BBC for nearly 40 years and was an absolute favourite from my own childhood.
“Postman Pat’s enduring popularity speaks to the genuine charm and warmth that John imbued in the characters that populate Greendale.
“It’s a world you’d like to be part of – a community that cares, is full of heart and full of fun – and that is a lovely thing to show audiences, both young and old.
“John created a real and relatable world that will continue to entertain our audience for a long time to come and I count myself lucky to be one of millions of children whose childhoods were enriched by John’s creations.”
The screenwriter, who also created ‘Rosie and Jim’, was born in Colne, Lancashire, but later moved to Kendal in Westmoreland – and it was there that he was inspired to create Pat’s fictional village Greendale in Longsleddale.
John initially got in touch with the BBC when he applied to be a producer of children’s programmes but, although they didn’t offer him the job, they did ask him to create a series for young children.
The show he created turned out to be ‘Postman Pat’, which first aired in 1981, and it has since been shown around the world in different languages.
He said in 2006: “I went back to Kendal, and sat down to create ‘Postman Pat’ … and the rest is history!”
Ilkley Gazette announced the news of his death this week, writing: “Left his Ilkley home in a deluge of rain on Thursday, September 20, never to return.
“Even the skies wept for John the gifted creator of ‘Postman Pat’, ‘Rosie and Jim’ and author of many earlier published collections of poetry and picture story books for children. John’s last poetry collection, significantly entitled ‘Dare You Go’, has now come to fruition for John has dared to go and he has gone.”

Ralph Fiennes to star in Kingsman prequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Ralph Fiennes is set to star in a ‘Kingsman’ prequel.
The 55-year-old actor has reportedly been cast in Matthew Vaughn’s new story in his spy franchise which will take place before the events of the first two movies – ‘The Secret Service’ and ‘The Golden Circle’.
According to the Daily Mail newspaper, the prequel will be set during World War I and will explore the origins of the intelligence agency, as Fiennes’ character becomes Kingsman’s first official agent.
The film is due to start shooting early in 2019 and is scheduled for a November 8, 2019 release.
The prequel will also feature rising star Harris Dickinson, and although plot details are under wraps it is thought that the new script will be a fictional storyline focused around the real life Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment which for over a 100 years has included Kingsman as a unique rank, the equivalent of private.
The first ‘Kingsman’ movies focused on Taron Egerton as Eggsy – a young man recruited to be a special spy by Colin Firth’s character, Harry Hart – and the ‘Robin Hood’ actor has admitted he idolises his co-star.
The 27-year-old actor is in awe of Firth and admits he finds it impossible to hide his admiration for the Oscar-winning actor.
He said: “I think even if I tried to pretend that I don’t like Colin, I wouldn’t get very far. I’ve seen so many shots of me looking like I want to marry him. He’s just every bit as affable and pleasant and kind as he seems. He has this persona of being a landed gentry type, but he’s very down-to-earth and sweet and cool. He’s just a dad, a family man who occasionally pretends to be a super spy.”

Lady Gaga pays homage to Alexander McQueen

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga donned an Alexander McQueen “masterpiece” for the London premiere of ‘A Star is Born’.
The 32-year-old singer-turned-actress pulled out all the stops at the premiere for the movie – which she stars in alongside Bradley Cooper – as she stepped out in an Elizabethan style gown designed by Alexander McQueen’s Creative Director Sarah Burton, and paid “tribute to the actual runway show” by wearing her hair in a classy updo.
The show-stopping gown – which appeared on the runway in 2013 – featured a fitted halter-style bodice with intricate gold and pearl beading, cut-off balloon sleeves and an decadent lace ruff, similar to what Queen Elizabeth I was known for wearing.
Speaking to WWD, Gaga’s longtime hairstylist, Frederic Aspiras said: “The dress is such an amazing masterpiece, so we had to do something that was complimentary to it and to show London a little bit of [Gaga’s] style.
“I wanted to do something that was a modern Elizabethan-type hair, so I did my research on that era. Also, I wanted to pay tribute the actual runway show with the pin curls.”
The film premiered on Thursday night (27.08.18) and the ‘Just Dance’ hitmaker was joined by former Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher, 51, and his wife Sara MacDonald, 46, co-star and film director, Bradley Cooper, 43 and Princess Diana’s niece, Lady Kitty Spencer.
Frederic admitted he wanted Gaga’s look to be “elegant and real” for the London premiere, but keep the “original and classic” Hollywood glamour we’re accustomed too.
The celebrity stylist added: “At Haus of Gaga, we plan ahead and we test the look before. A lot of people can [re-create this look]. It’s different than your normal chignon bun. It’s a bit more elegant and regal.
“Everything has to be new, but still have a touch of the original and classic beauty of Hollywood. Here, it’s about the movie – not being the character, just promoting the movie – whereas the music, it’s about the feeling of the album, the songs. It’s definitely different. It’s also nice to change it up and not be conventional and still add a touch of Gaga into it. People have been very accepting of it.”
Gaga and the fashion brand’s founder Alexander McQueen had been close for year before the designer tragically passed away in 2010 after battling with depression, and Alexander even designed her notorious Armadillo boots that featured in her 2009 ‘Bad Romance’ music video.

EastEnders hit with complaints over paedophile line

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘EastEnders’ has been slapped with complaints after Mick Carter was accused of being a paedophile.
The BBC One soap has found itself in hot water after viewers complained to Ofcom – the UK’s communications regulator – after the loveable pub landlord (Danny Dyer) was wrongly imprisoned for shooting Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) and later called a “n****” by his fellow inmates.
A spokesperson told the Daily Star newspaper: “I can confirm we have received six complaints about the Mick Carter/Stuart Highway storyline [which aired last Monday].”
Show fans were left glued to their seats earlier this week when fellow inmate Fraser backed Mick into a corner in his cell before accusing him of being a paedophile after Stuart began to fear that he may be released from prison due to a new lawyer he had employed.
Fraser said: “Stuart, he’s a legend in here. Says he tracked you down, had you cornered like the rat that you are. He was going to destroy you and you stopped him, didn’t you?”
Mick hit back: “He’s lying.”
To which Fraser replied: “You’re one of them – a vile, twisted little n****.”
Although viewers are devastated to see the loveable Mick behind bars, Danny is really excited about exploring the dark storyline.
He said recently: “What I was really pleased about was we don’t just leave it at the gates, we actually delve into the darkness of what it’s like to try and survive in prison. I’m happy to be focused on that. With Stuart all bets are off, anything can happen, so it’s tied in lovely with that storyline.”
Danny “didn’t feel” as though he was appearing in ‘EastEnders’ during the prison scenes, but has praised the casting of Mick’s fellow cons.
He added: “The job changes when you go off the Square. We built a set within the studio and I was interacting with different characters so it didn’t feel like ‘EastEnders’ for a bit.
“I really think we’ve nailed it, it’s been very well cast.
“It was nice to get a bit of a fresh intake on how Mick would survive away from his family.”

Manny Jacinto signs up for Top Gun 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Manny Jacinto has joined the cast of ‘Top Gun: Maverick’.
The 31-year-old actor – who has recently appeared opposite ‘Frozen’ actress Kristen Bell in ‘The Good Place’ – has signed on the dotted line to appear in Paramount’s ‘Top Gun’ sequel as a fighter pilot named Fritz, according to Deadline.
Jacinto joins an all-star cast that includes Tom Cruise, Jennifer Connelly, Val Kilmer, Monica Barbaro, Miles Teller, Glen Powell, Ed Harris and Jon Hamm.
The sequel is set 34 years after the original hit the big screen and will focus on modern drone warfare and explore the end of the dogfighting era.
Cruise and Kilmer are back as their characters from the original, Maverick and Iceman, whilst Teller is to play the son of Goose – Maverick’s wingman who was played by Anthony Edwards in the original movie.
Joseph Kosinski is on board to direct and has teased that the plot will focus on Maverick’s service in the modern military.
He said: “The navy is very different now than it was in 1986. Back then, they hadn’t been in any war for 15 or 20 years at that point.
“Now, here in 2017, the Navy’s been at war for 20 years. It’s just a different world now, so you can’t remake the first movie. It has to adapt.”
‘Top Gun: Maverick’ was initially scheduled for a July 2019 release, but it was announced this week that the movie has been pushed back by just over 11 months for a June 2020 arrival in theatres.
Paramount Pictures made the decision so the team will have extra time to figure out the logistics of the flight sequences.

John le Carré set for Little Drummer Girl cameo

OHMYGOSSIP — John le Carré will make a cameo appearance in ‘The Little Drummer Girl’.
The author will make an appearance in the upcoming BBC and AMC adaptation of his espionage thriller – in the same manner famed filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock did in his own pictures – as a cafe waiter.
The writer has been seen on set dressed the part during what has been described as a “key scene” in the six-part mini series based on his 1983 novel.
It marks the second time he has appeared in a TV adaptation of his own work, with the first coming in the hugely popular series ‘The Night Manager’.
The upcoming thriller will see highly regarded filmmaker Park Chan-wook make his television debut, as he is set to direct all six hours of the programme.
It’s set to feature an all-star ensemble with Alexander Skarsgard, Michael Shannon and Florence Pugh all appearing in the highly anticipated show.
The story – set in the 1970s but described as “sharply contemporary” – sees young actress Charlie Pugh strike up a friendship with an intriguing stranger called Becker (Skargard) on holiday, before it becomes apparent his intentions are far from romantic.
He is actually an Israeli intelligence officer, and Charlie gets embroiled in a high stakes plot orchestrated by Spymaster Kurtz (Shannon).
In a previous statement, Chan-wook said: “At the core of this story is an extremely painful, but thrilling, romance…
“I am excited at the prospect of seeing how the drumbeats of Florence Pugh, the most energetic young female actor I have seen recently, will resonate with the audience.”

Georgia Steel and Rosie Williams dress up for Oktoberfest

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Georgia Steel and Rosie Williams were reunited for the first time since leaving the villa this week at a German beer festival in London.
The reality TV pair – who stole viewers’ hearts when Georgia slept outside with Rosie after she was brutally dumped by Adam Collard in the villa over the summer – let their hair down on Thursday (27.09.18) as they knocked back the alcoholic beverage at Erdinger Oktoberfest in Queen Elizabeth Park in Stratford.
Taking to her Instagram account, Georgia, 21, said: “Was nice to catch up with the one I started the journey with today. We channelled our inner German at @erdingerOktober in @queenelizabethOlympicPark (sic)”
Rosie added: “always a little gift getting to be with my best @geesteelx we may not be beer drinkers but you can’t go to #oktoberfest without having at least one! Lots of fun @erdingeroktoberfest @queenelizabetholympicpark in Stratford (sic)”
The duo spent the girly evening drinking shots and beer and even ventured into the VIP area to tuck in to a huge platter of Bavarian German sausages, cheese and bread that was featured on both of their Instagram stories.
The reality stars also decided to have a go on the dodgems – leaving Georgia in hysterics after losing control of her car.
Georgia and Rosie bonded when they joined the villa together a few days after the original line-up in order to shake things up.
However, they weren’t in together long as Rosie was dumped from the villa after Sam Bird, 25, decided to couple up with Samira Mighty – leaving the brunette without a partner and unable to stay in the competition.
Georgia later coupled up with Sam and the pair – who are still together now and even live together – quit the ITV2 show after realising they couldn’t be apart – despite initially agreeing to break up to keep their places in the famous abode.
