Gemma Ward offers advice to aspiring models

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Ward thinks hard work and politeness are key to becoming a successful model.
The 30-year-old beauty has offered some advice to aspiring models, urging them to be kind to every person they meet in the fashion industry and stressing the need to be “present in what you’re doing”.
In an interview with Vogue Australia, Gemma advised: “When you show up to work, really show up. Be present in what you’re doing and be on time.
“Be kind to everyone in the room and know that nothing happens overnight. Hard work comes with its rewards.”
The blonde beauty recently made her return to the runway for the spring/summer 2018 season, 11 years after taking a break from the industry to work on her mental health.
The Australian star was picked out to be a model as a teenager at a time when she “looked pretty scary”, having lost a lot of weight due to depression – but Gemma is now in a healthy and happy place in her life.
She said: “It’s amazing what the human body can endure, and what you can kind of get yourself into mentally. For a long time, I wanted to talk about what I was going through, but I was still in it.”
Gemma found solace by reading biographies about other female celebrities who had endured problems with their body image and fame, such as the late Princess Diana and Jane Fonda.
She said: “I always wanted to get to that place where I could talk about it, because it would mean that I was no longer in it.”

Holly Willoughby dresses as Morticia Addams for Halloween

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Willoughby dressed as Morticia Addams for a Halloween-themed episode of ‘Celebrity Juice’.
The 37-year-old TV presenter swapped her usual bubbly blonde look for a spookier style – after transforming herself into the Gothic fictional character from ‘The Addams Family’ television and film series for an appearance on the British comedy show.

Holly was flooded with comments from fans who loved her look, with one even suggesting she should play the iconic role in a remake of the show.
One user wrote: “I was thinking remake of Addams family. You’d be swell as Morticia (sic)”
Holly wasn’t the only panellist who dressed up for the occasion, with her co-star and long-time friend Fearne Cotton channelling her inner assassin in a replica of the yellow ensemble worn by Uma Thurman in ‘Kill Bill’.
The TV personality appeared in an exact copy of the outfit worn by Uma in Quentin Tarantino’s gory thriller – complete with a long blonde wig, a Samurai sword and cuts and bruises on her face.
Meanwhile, Keith Lemon – who hosts the comedy show – dressed up as David from 1987 vampire flick ‘The Lost Boys’, complete with prosthetic eyebrows, fake fangs and amber contact lenses.

Duchess Meghan wears chic maxi dress

The 37-year-old royal – who is expecting her first child in the spring – has showcased two new looks by her go-to designers Martin Grant and British favourite Roksanda during the fourth day of her 16-day tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji with her husband, Prince Harry.
The Duchess opted for a striped Martin Grant maxi dress and Castañer espadrilles during a visit to Bondi Beach, where the couple met a local surfing community group, known as OneWave, and helped to raise awareness for mental health and well-being.
The former ‘Suits’ actress – who was previously known as Meghan Markle before getting married in May – has had websites crashing with fans eager to get their hands on the coveted pieces the royal is pictured in.
Meghan recently stepped out in a sleeveless shift dress by Karen Gee after announcing her pregnancy, causing the label’s website to crash.

Care Delevingne: I used to hate my eyebrows

OHMYGOSSIP — Cara Delevingne used to hate her eyebrows.
The 26-year-old model-turned-actress is known for her signature full eyebrows, but Cara has admitted that when she was younger, she tried to make them smaller as they looked “like giant slugs” on her face.
The British beauty told InStyle magazine: “I did [hate my brows], and my mum would always tell me they were my best feature.
“I was like, ‘They look like giant slugs on my face and you think they’re my best feature?’ I wanted small eyebrows, and I’d try to tweeze them down. I was also naturally skinny, but I wanted curves.”
The ‘Suicide Squad’ star believes that a lot of women harbour insecurities about their appearance.
However, Cara feels that “real beauty” comes from within and has argued that less importance should be attached to looks.
She said: “I don’t know why we do that as women. I didn’t start appreciating my brows until everyone else did.
“We want to be skinnier, we want to be taller, we want to have a big bum, those are fads, and real beauty is from within.
“I mean … we can all be vain at times, but for me, looks are one of the least meaningful things in my life.”
Although Cara considers beauty and fashion to both be an “endless pool of creativity”, it still took her a while to begin experimenting with make-up and different styles.
She explained: “I wanted to be a kid for as long as I could. I treated make-up like a costume or a disguise, whether it was me being a clown or a superhero.
“When I started working, I delved into make-up and began to discover my femininity in so many ways. Beauty and fashion created an endless pool of creativity and wonder for me.”

The author will also executive produce, along with Mark and the series’ director, Derek Cianfrance.
Mark has been kept busy of late working on the fourth ‘Avengers’ movie – in which he returns as Hulk – and recently admitted reshoots mean he and his co-stars don’t know how the film will end.
He said: “We don’t even know what it’s gonna be yet. We’re not just doing reshoots. We’re going to finish the movie, which we really didn’t get to finish totally when we left it last year.”
In fact, Mark suggested that the directing duo – Anthony and Joe Russo – are currently uncertain as to how the movie will end.
He added: “I don’t even know that [the Russos] really know exactly.
“Some of it is happening while we’re there. It’s pretty amazing. And we’ll shoot some stuff and a few days later come back and reshoot it ’cause we wanna take it in another direction.
“It’s a very living organism; even as we approach it being a locked picture, we’re still working on it.”

The couple may have gone their separate ways last month, but the businessman is determined to win back the ‘Jersey Shore’ star – the mother of his children Meilani, four, and two-year-old Greyson – and has been reflecting on their happier times.
He shared a photograph taken at their wedding on Instagram and wrote: “This happened 3 years ago today. 8 years together total. 3006 days together. Not one of them was a flawless day. Not one of them would I change (sic)”
And because he is “corny”, Roger also shared a link with fans to watch their wedding video.
Though the couple have split, they have been spotted out and about with their children and even had an anniversary dinner together this week.
Roger shared a photo from the meal on Instagram and wrote: “Rome wasn’t built in a day.”
Meanwhile, the businessman previously vowed to “win back” his wife.
He said: “I’m not done fighting. I am going to win my wife back. I’m going to win her affection back, I am going to win her love back. I have no intentions on being a single dad. We’re in counseling so there is hope. It ain’t over ’til the fat lady sings.”
Jenni filed for divorce from last month, citing “irreconcilable differences”.
The court documents state that Jenni would like “primary residential custody” of their two children but is asking Roger to pay child support, health insurance and other expenses related to healthcare.

Duchess of Sussex ‘took out trash’

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duchess of Sussex’s first job was “taking out trash”.
The former actress was just 14 when she started on the employment ladder and though she didn’t have a very glamorous occupation, she thinks it instilled good values in her.
Speaking to students at the all-female Macarthur Girls High in Sydney, Australia, she said: “My first job when I was 14, I remember taking out the trash, all sorts. It give you a good work ethic, right?”
Meghan, 37, felt a connection with the teenagers at the school because the former ‘Suits’ star – who is expecting her first child with husband Prince Harry – also went to a single-sex high and she praised the group for the work they are doing through the ‘”In League in Harmony Youth Advocate’ scheme, which aims to unite and inspire young people to be advocates for cohesion and inclusion in their communities.
She said: “You guys all remind me so much of myself when I was growing up.
“I went to an all girls school which was incredibly diverse as well. I think being around such empowered young women, it becomes something that you all just grasp onto to understand your world. It’s made you confident, well-spoken.
“You have an intention set to really do something to change the world, and you have to keep it up.
“It makes me so emotional. You’re doing really, really good work and I’m so happy that we’re here. We give you our full support.”
Harry, 33, also addressed the group about the strength or women and told them men also needed to push for changes.
He said: “Men can help as well by getting involved, we have to.”
The prince also climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge on Friday (19.10.18) to view the raising of the Australian flag to officially open this year’s Invictus Games, but his wife stayed on the ground.

Stephanie Davis teases Sinead and Sienna clash

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis has teased her ‘Hollyoaks’ alter-ego is set to clash with Sienna Blake.
The 25-year-old actress is making a return to the soap as Sinead O’Connor alongside Kyle Pryor, who will play her husband, Hollyoaks High’s new Deputy Headmaster Laurie Shelby, and she’s warned that the reformed schemer – who is hoping to become a teacher – needs to watch out for trouble.
Asked who should be most worried about Sinead returning to the village, she teased: “That’s a good one. I don’t know actually, I think with the new storyline with my husband, a lot of that takes the focus so I would say … I don’t know if I’m allowed to say … Probably Sienna.”
Sinead’s return sees her rescued from the storm by Sami Maalik (Rishi Nair) and it doesn’t take long for the pair to get intimate in the lawyer’s car – and Stephanie has warned fans to expect some fall out from their encounter in the months to come.
She said: “There’s actually a little twist – she’s married. so my husband, Kyle Pryor, Laurie comes in, not long after with my daughter Hannah, he’s got her, and then obviously she’s been getting it on with Sami – and Rishi has been great to work with as well – and then it all kicks off.”
And Stephanie insisted she’s not disappointed that her alter-ego hasn’t changed her ways in her three years off screen.
She said: “I love my character, there’s a lot to her. She’s trying her hardest to be this new wife, everything’s together but she’s still got that fire inside her and you’ll see more when Kyle who plays Laurie comes into it, he’s great, there’s a real dynamic with them and you’ll see why she’s like that play out in the next couple of episodes.”

Georgia Steel and Sam Bird to reunite at nightclub

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia Steel and Sam Bird are to make a joint personal appearance together on Friday night (19.10.18) in the wake of their separation.
The former ‘Love Island’ couple announced their split on social media this week but although they are no longer together the will be reuniting for a pre-booked PA at Gloucester nightclub ‘ATIK’ because they don’t want to let their fans “down”.
Speaking to The Sun Online, a source said: “Both Georgia and Sam are still booked to attend the PA. They don’t want to let anybody down by pulling out – so they’ll both do it together as planned.”
The 25-year-old personal trainer confirmed that he and Georgia – who got together on the ITV2 reality show – had split in a Twitter post, which read: “I’m devastated to announce me and Georgia have split up for reasons I cant bring myself to comment on at the moment. As always I wish her all the best.”
Amid speculation Georgia had been involved with an ex-lover again, the brunette beauty – who created her own catchphrase on ‘Love Island’ with her constant proclamations that she is a “loyal” person – took to her Instagram to tell her followers that Sam had falsely accused her of cheating.
She posted: “Last night Sam told me he was going to the press so I just want to make clear ahead of any interviews he does that there was NO third party involved in the break up between them and I.
“Sam thinks I cheated because he went through my phone, read and took screen shots of banter I had between me and my best mate … The banter was about my ex boyfriend from which he’s then put two and two together and come up with an imaginary scenario. (sic)”
Despite the pain of the break-up, Georgia also insisted she would “always care” for Sam in an Instagram Story.
She said: “I’m very sad to say me and Sam have split. I will always care about him. However please understand this is a hard time for us both. Thank you.”
The shock split came after their public display of affection at the ITV Palooza event in London on Tuesday (16.10.18).

Davina McCall believes Big Brother needs a rest

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall thinks that ‘Big Brother’ needs a rest so that it can return bigger than ever.
The 51-year-old presenter hosted the show when it aired on Channel 4 between 2000 and 2010 and although she can accept that people are disappointed that Channel 5 have decided to cut the show from the schedule she believes it will come back under the stewardship of another broadcaster bigger and better than ever.
In an exclusive interview with HuffPost UK, she said: “I definitely think it needs resting for a little bit. I think if you rest it, you can muck about with it a little bit and come back to a new audience. The ‘Big Brother’ addicts will still be there, the transient viewers will move on and then you’ll be new and fresh to a whole new, young audience.”
Davina contacted current ‘Big Brother’ host Emma Willis – who has presented the live shows from 2011 to 2018 – in the wake of the cancellation and they spoke about how much of a big influence the Big Brother House had on their lives.
She said: “I spoke to Emma quite quickly afterwards. I know what that’s like – it’s weird. It’s been a big part of her life, and it was a massive part of mine for a number of years. It’s like saying goodbye to a friend.
“Emma’s got an amazing career, so she’s got nothing to worry about, it’s just weird.”
Davina isn’t sure if she can be part of the ‘BB’ finale that’s coming up as she’s filming a new series of ‘The 100K Drop’ in Manchester, but she thinks it should be 42-year-old Emma’s job to say goodbye to the show this time.
She added: “If I’m honest, I’d love to say goodbye in some way, but I think this is Emma’s moment. It’s her series and I think she should get to do it all on her own.”

Paul Greengrass says 22 July ‘is relevant to every country’

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Greengrass thinks ’22 July’ is “relevant to every country”.
The 63-year-old director’s latest project tells the story of the terrorist attack carried out by Anders Breivik in Norway in 2011, and Paul has explained why he thinks it was important to make the new drama film.
He explained: “You’ve only got to look around the world, everywhere we look the hard right is on the rise.
“There’s a neo-Nazi party holding the balance of power in Sweden and in Austria, an extreme right-wing government in Italy, look at Tommy Robinson in the UK, Brexit, Trump, Steve Bannon.
“It’s important to make the point, that by and large they don’t agree with Breivik’s methods, but his opinions, which in 2011 were considered marginal are today mainstream. That argument that goes on about the betrayal by the elites, that’s all standard stuff.”
Paul stressed that, at its core, ’22 July’ isn’t really about the terrorist attacks in Norway.
Instead, the filmmaker – who previously helmed the biographical drama ‘United 93’ about the terrorist attacks in America in 2001 – is hoping to make a broader point to his audience.
He told the Belfast Telegraph newspaper: “I wanted to make a film that dramatised it because the story of how Norway had fought for her democracy is what the film is really about.
“It’s not about the attack, although the first chunk is, but the story of how Norway fought for her democracy in the aftermath of the attacks is a story of today. It’s relevant to every country.”

Rami Malek reveals his Bohemian Rhapsody doubts

OHMYGOSSIP — Rami Malek constantly doubted himself while filming ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
The 37-year-old actor plays Freddie Mercury in the upcoming biographical drama, but Rami has admitted to frequently wondering whether he was the right man for the coveted role.
He explained: “When I met [the film’s producers] Graham King and Denis O’Sullivan about playing the role, I told them, ‘Listen, I’m not a singer, I’m not a piano player. There are things about Freddie I will be able to give you but know that those things are going to be tricky.'”
Rami worked diligently to meet the demands of the role, but he never felt like it was quite enough.
He told The i newspaper: “Every time I thought I got something, another challenge came.”
At times, Rami wondered whether the makers of the film – which also stars the likes of Ben Hardy and Mike Myers – had make a mistake in casting him.
He confessed: “There were moments when I thought, ‘This is not my bag. I don’t think I’m going to be able to do this part of it.'”
Meanwhile, Rami previously insisted that ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ doesn’t “shy away’ from Freddie Mercury’s sexuality or battle with AIDS.
Responding to criticism of a teaser trailer – which seemingly glossed over the subjects – Rami said: “It’s a shame that people are making remarks after a minute teaser where you just wanna see the music.
“It’s difficult. First, let me say that I don’t think the film shies away from his sexuality or his all-consuming disease, which is obviously AIDS.
“I don’t know how you could avoid any of that, or if anyone would ever want to. It’s a bit absurd that anyone’s judging this from a minute trailer.”

Jamie Lee Curtis says Halloween ‘reflects changing attitudes to trauma’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Lee Curtis thinks the new ‘Halloween’ movie reflects changing attitudes towards trauma.
The 59-year-old actress – who has reprised the role of Laurie Strode in the latest installment of the horror franchise – has claimed that the new movie chimes with the #MeToo movement’s determination to reveal the long-term impact of trauma.
Speaking to the Independent, Jamie explained: “The film was written before the #MeToo movement. It was written in January of 2016 and the movement really began in August 2017.”
The #MeToo movement emerged in the wake of the Hollywood sex scandal and has helped to expose the prevalence of sexual assault and harassment.
And Jamie – whose on-screen character is a survivor of Michael Myers’ killing spree in the hit movies – explained how the latest film overlaps with the movement.
She said: “Women and men, all over the world, are starting to stand up and say: ‘This happened to me, but it does not have to be the definition of me.’
“We made a horror movie that’s super scary but at its core is the subject of trauma. But in the world, we are having a conversation that has been silenced for a very long time.”
Jamie added: “Trauma is the residual effect of violence. We know that. We know that through history, we’ve studied history. Because it’s generational.
“It gets passed on if it’s not worked out. And so, this is a movie about generational trauma.”

Liam Hemsworth to star alongside Vince Vaughn in Arkansas

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Hemsworth has been cast alongside Vince Vaughn in ‘Arkansas’.
The 28-year-old actor will play the role of a low-level drug runner who is working for a kingpin, played by Vince, in the upcoming movie.
‘Arkansas’ – which is being directed by Clark Duke – tells the story of a drug deal that goes disastrously wrong.
The movie is being produced by Patrick Hibler, Jeff Rice, Martin Sprock and Storyboard Media.
And the project – which is based on a script penned by Clarke, who also stars in the movie – is set to start filming in Alabama.
Liam recently completed shooting the action-thriller ‘Killerman’ and is poised to star alongside Rebel Wilson in the comedy movie ‘Isn’t It Romantic’, which is scheduled for release in early 2019.
The actor is part of one of Hollywood’s most famous families, with his brothers Chris and Luke Hemsworth also starring in the movie business.
And Liam previously admitted that he and his siblings have always been competitive with each other.
He shared: “We used to fight all the time.
“In the summer holidays we’d live in board shorts and we had a throwing knife, so we’d play this game where you’d have to stand about two metres away from each other and take it in turns to throw it as close to the person’s foot and stick it into the ground.
“It was really dangerous. I mean, it was kind of blunt, but it would still hurt a lot if it hit you. We used to play that a lot.
“There were a few cuts and bruises, a few shaves here and there. I think being a young, Australian guy you tend to do those kinds of stupid things.”

Debbie McGee wants to find love again

OHMYGOSSIP — Debbie McGee would remarry “if she met the right person”.
The 59-year -old widow was left heartbroken after her husband, magician Paul Daniels, passed away in 2016 at the age of 77 but after competing on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2017 she was able to regain her confidence and get a new lease of life.
Debbie, 59, has now started thinking about dating again and if she was to fall in love with another man she would consider tying the knot again.
Speaking to The Sun Online at the Women of the Year Awards, she said: “I am just enjoying my life. I’ve male friends that have taken me to dinner or for drinks – and that is lovely. I would marry again if I met the right person but I am not looking.”
Although Debbie feels ready to date again two-and-a-half years after losing Paul, the star is not actively looking for a new partner and is taking a relaxed approach to romance.
She added: “I think if you look you don’t get it. It’s like waiting for the kettle to boil and it never boils.”
Debbie was spotted in a West End show by a BBC producer who asked her to appear on ‘The Paul Daniels Magic Show’ – which ran from 1979 to 1994 – as his assistant. The pair then fell in love and married in April 1988.
Sadly, Paul – who was known for his catchphrase “now that’s magic” – died less than five weeks after he was diagnosed with a brain tumour in March 2016.
The sometime ‘Loose Women’ panellist has reflected on how making it into the final of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ with her professional partner Giovanni Pernice last year gave her a huge lift in her life.
She said: “The main thing for me is how it has helped me deal with my grief. The show allowed me to be a person in my own right.”

He said: “As soon as I arrived, William said, ‘Well, it’s been quite a big year for you hasn’t it?’ And he said, ‘Congratulations on the wedding and landing the Breakfast Show.’
