Bake Off’s Ruby Bhogal tricked into revealing winner

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruby Bhogal has been tricked into revealing this year’s ‘Great British Bake Off’ winner by an online prankster.
The 29-year-old project manager – who is a finalist alongside Kim-Joy, Rahul Mandal, and Briony Williams – is said to have divulged the winner of the pre-recorded series on Twitter after a guy set up a fake account posing as the show’s co-host Sandi Toksvig, and then sent Ruby a series of direct messages.
He told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “It’s actually pretty easy to do really.
“You just make a fake profile of one of their friends and then they follow you.
“You then change your name and message them and they have no clue.”
Ruby’s spoiler slip comes nearly a year after show judge Prue Leith tweeted the name of last year’s winner, Sophie Faldo, on the morning of the finale.
She wrote: “No one told me judging a #gbbo final would be so emotional. I wanted them all to win. Bravo (sic)”, and then the name of the winner appeared.
But she later expressed regret over the accidental mishap, blaming the time difference because she was in Bhutan when she sent the message.
She said: “I’m in Bhutan. The time difference is massive. I thought that they got it six hours ago. I’m in too much of a state to talk about it. I f***ed up.
“I am so sorry to the fans of the show for my mistake this morning, I am in a different time zone and mortified by my error #GBBO. (sic)”
Prue recently admitted she has been told she “ruined lives” after she spoilt last year’s finale, and admitted it was “scary” and “horrible” when she accidentally let slip the triumphant baker’s name.
She said: “It was very scary at the time and horrible. I had so many people saying, ‘You ruined my life, how could you?’
“I thought, ‘Oh my God, it’s after 10:30.’ And so I immediately tweeted. And of course it was five hours out or something.
“But it was too late. Two people had retweeted it, saying ‘How disgraceful, she has given away the secret.’ And then they gave it away!”

John Krasinski is penning A Quiet Place sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — John Krasinski is writing a sequel to ‘A Quiet Place’.
The 38-year-old actor – who directed and starred in the original movie alongside his wife Emily Blunt – has revealed that he’s already turned his attention to writing a sequel to the hit film, which was released earlier this year.
John explained: “I had this small idea for a sequel, but I didn’t think it would go anywhere. So, I said to the studio, ‘Just go do the movie with somebody else.'”
However, John found it difficult to move past his own idea for the sequel – which he eventually revealed to producer Andrew Form of Platinum Dunes.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “They heard some pitches, and I told Drew about this little idea. And he told me to think about it a little longer. And then I thought, ‘This might really work.’ So, I’m currently writing the sequel.”
Despite the success of ‘A Quiet Place’, John previously admitted to being anxious about working with his wife.
The American star – who has kids Hazel, four, and Violet, two, with Emily – said: “We were both really nervous about it for exactly that reason. It can go one of two ways, and one of the ways is horrible.
“And so what I said was, let’s approach it the way we approach our marriage, which is let’s overly communicate about this stuff so that any problems we have remain small rather than huge.”

Jamie Dornan cast in Drake Doremus’ new project

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Dornan has been cast in a new Drake Doremus-directed film.
The 36-year-old actor – who is best-known for his starring role in the ‘Fifty Shades’ series – will appear alongside Shailene Woodley and Sebastian Stan in the upcoming movie, Collider reports.
The project has not yet been given an official title, but it will tell the story of a woman who splits from her boyfriend and soon finds herself juggling two passionate romances.
Jamie will play the part of an artsy writer, while Sebastian’s character has been billed as a passionate bad boy.
The project is being produced by CJ Entertainment and filming is due to start in Los Angeles this month.
The movie has been given a working title of ‘No, No, No, Yes’, but it’s thought to be unlikely that the tentative title will eventually be used.
Meanwhile, despite being one of the movie industry’s best-known stars, Jamie recently revealed that his daughter actually thinks he’s a tractor driver.
Jamie – who has daughters Dulcie, four, and Elva, two, with his wife Amelia Warner – explained that his kids got confused about his career when he tried to explain it to them and they now get excited when they pass farm vehicles near where they live.
He shared: “I tried to tell her one time that I was an actor and because we live in the countryside with a lot of tractors, she somehow put the two together and I became a tractor driver in her head.”

Richard Ashcroft respects Ed Sheeran

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Ashcroft respects Ed Sheeran because he has earned his success through hard work.
The former Verve frontman is always disappointed when he hears or reads criticism directed at his fellow singer/songwriter because Ed, 27, is an artist who has made it to the top charts on his own terms just like him and other acts like Oasis.
However, Richard is not a fan of all his songs, especially his 2017 single ‘Galway Girl’.
In an interview with The Sun newspaper, the ‘Lucky Man’ hitmaker said: “Ed Sheeran, I don’t like the fact he gets a lot of stick. I like the fact he works hard, and God knows how much money he pays to the tax man each year. He might have overstepped the mark with that Irish tune but success is not worth hanging and trying someone for. Success is hard to come by. The success where you have worked damn hard and are doing your own thing and suddenly, the mainstream get to hear it and it all comes together.”
Richard – who has just released his fifth solo album ‘Natural Rebel’ – thinks Ed gets a similar response from his fans when he walks on stage that he and his friend Liam Gallagher do, because they know they’re playing real music.
He added: “Touring places I’ve never played before and making Natural Rebel has energised me and that’s why I’m buzzing now. I saw footage of me leaving the stage in Mexico and there were fans screaming like it was Eddie Cochran in the 1950s. It made me think, ‘What happened to all the icons?’ Who would go through this situation like a bull in a china shop? Or take a left turn when everyone is going right? So that is what I’m into. In the end, that is what everyone is going to be hungering for – a bit of originality and uniqueness to a person or an act. Everyone is so tame nowadays. They want to be rich and famous. You’ve got an amazing ar*e and suddenly you are on the front of everything! I’m talking about the feeling that comes with performing real music, walking on and walking off with the crowd not knowing what you’re going to do.”
Richard supported former Oasis singer Liam, 45, on his ‘As You Were’ solo tour of North America and at his mammoth UK concerts this summer at Old Trafford cricket ground in Manchester and Finsbury Park in London.
The pair’s friendship began back in the 90s when Oasis and The Verve toured together and he insists their popularity endures to this decade because they represent the “real rock and roll” spirit.
He said: “People believe in proper live gigs and me and Liam have lived it, so fans respect us for that. We grafted and sweated and took s**t but we carried on. We both have a mutual, symbiotic relationship with our crowds. They know it’s time for real rock and roll.”

Ayda Field to place bet on her X Factor acts

OHMYGOSSIP — Ayda Field is so confident one of her ‘X Factor’ acts will win the show she plans to place a bet on each one.
The show judge is putting her money where her mouth is by forking out her hard-earned cash to support her wannabes Danny Tetley, Giovanni Spano, Olatunji Yearwood and Janice Robinson, and “100 per cent” thinks she has the winner in her Overs category.
Ahead of the live shows, which begin tomorrow (20.10.18), she said: “I’m really excited. I keep asking myself if I’m nervous yet because I haven’t felt nervous yet. I’m sure tomorrow I will.
“I think I’ve got the winner for sure, 100%. Listen, I’m going to put money on all of them, every single one of them.”
While she has been supporting her contestants, Ayda has also received some judging support from her six-year-old daughter Teddy – who she shares with her husband and fellow panellist Robbie Williams – and admitted the youngster inspired her to say yes to some of her acts.
Ayda said: “She loves it. When she came to auditions she kept getting mad at me if I said no to somebody.
“I was being judged by my daughter – she was telling me the rights and wrongs. On a few of them I knew my daughter was right and I was like, ‘It’s a yes from me.’ ”
While the 39-year-old star is enjoying working with her four acts, she admits it is a “big responsibility” playing such a huge part in their dreams.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, she added: “It’s a big responsibility to kind of say yay or nay to someone’s dreams and their career. It’s something I take very seriously.
“I love them [my acts] as humans. They’re really nice. That was a really big thing for me. Robbie and I both like to work with people we like.
“You’re spending lots of time and energy to be around people you vibe with. My four are the kindest, most compassionate, interesting contestants of the entire competition.”
Ayda looks set to make some big money if one of her ‘X Factor’ acts triumphs in the competition – because all four are outsiders to win the series.
Bookie William Hill has priced both Danny and Janice at 25/1, Olatunji is a 28/1 shot, and some serious money could be made on Giovanni with his 100/1 odds.
If the bookies have it right then Ayda’s husband Robbie could be the happiest judge on final night because his Groups act Misunderstood are currently 5/2 favourites to win the competition.

Dave Spikey admits Phoenix Nights disappointment

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Spikey has admitted his disappointment that Peter Kay and Paddy McGuinness “rode away into the sunset” rather than make a third series of ‘Phoenix Nights’.
The 67-year-old comedian portrayed Jerry St.Clair in the Channel 4 sitcom, and has admitted there “should have” been another season of the programme because the ideas were in place, but Peter and Paddy, who played bouncers Max and Paddy respectively, went on to make spin-off ‘Max and Paddy’s Road to Nowhere’.
He wrote on Twitter: “You can never go back. Should have done a third series and a Christmas special. The ideas and storylines were there
“Series 3 was never written although the ideas were there. Max and Paddy rode away into the sunset and sadly that was the end of that (sic)”
Following his tweets, Dave received several messages from fans asking if a third series could ever happen, but insisted it is a “lost cause”.
He tweeted: “Lost cause I’m afraid (sic)”
Dave also liked a tweet from one fan who suggested he is “better” on his own.
The message read: “You’re better on your own Dave , still not been able to get over to see you , you’ll have to come to Jersey next tour (sic)”
‘Phoenix Nights’ aired for two series from 2001 to 2002 and told the story of the goings-on in a working men’s club in Bolton, and largely centred on Brian Potter’s (Peter) ambition to make the club the most popular in the Greater Manchester town.

Doctor Who episode to tackle racism

OHMYGOSSIP — A new ‘Doctor Who’ episode is to tackle the issue of racism.
Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Time Lord will land in America’s Deep South on Sunday night’s (21.10.18) episode where she will go up against an evil alien who is disputing the real-life events in which civil rights campaigner Rosa Parks rejected a bus driver’s order to relinquish her seat in the “coloured section” to a white passenger in 1955.
She was arrested, but the incident, which took place in Alabama, sparked the beginning of the historical civil rights movement, a decades-long movement in which African Americans sought legal rights.
The episode will see the Time Lord try to ensure the incident is not sabotaged.
Elsewhere in the ep, the Doctor’s sidekicks Ryan Sinclair and Yasmin Khan are both discriminated against when they are refused entry to a motel.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Ryan – who is portrayed by black actor Tosin Cole – says: “It’s not like Rosa Parks wipes out racism from the world forever.
“Otherwise how come I get stopped by police way more than my white mates? Tell me you don’t get it?”
Police officer Yasmin (Mandip Gill) says: “Of course I do, especially on the job. “I can be a police officer now because people like Rosa Parks fought for us.”
She also predicts there will be a black president of the US in 2008 – which is the year Barack Obama took take charge of the White House, 53 years after Rosa’s arrest.
Yasmin says: “In 53 years they will have a black president. Who knows where they will be 50 years after that? That is proper change.”

Dianne Buswell and Anthony Quinlan split

OHMYGOSSIP — Dianne Buswell and Anthony Quinlan have split.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional – who is partnered with Joe Sugg on this year’s series – and the ‘Emmerdale’ actor have gone their separate ways in an amicable break up, but “remain close friends”.
Her rep said: “Due to their busy schedules and the distance they have separated but they still remain close friends.”
The split confirmation comes following reports the pair had ended things a few weeks ago.
A ‘Strictly’ source told The Sun newspaper: “Everyone on set’s been discussing how close they’d become. It did not go unnoticed by Anthony.
“They are quite a fiery pair and have been clashing a bit more than often lately.
“A couple of weeks ago they just decided enough was enough and ended things. It was only a few days after the Katya and Seann pictures emerged.”
Despite the 29-year-old dancer’s break up with the Dales star – who plays Pete Barton on the ITV soap – Dianne is said to be having “a lot of fun” on the programme.
The source said: “He’s up north and she’s down south and things just weren’t working any more so they’ve knocked it on the head despite being quite serious.
“She’s having a lot of fun with the show at the moment and is enjoying spending time with her dance partner Joe.”
Dianne’s split comes after ‘Strictly’ contestant Seann Walsh was dumped by his girlfriend earlier in the series after he was caught kissing his pro partner Katya Jones, who is married to fellow show performer Neil Jones.

Nile Rodgers wants musical made of his life

OHMYGOSSIP — Nile Rodgers wants a musical made about his life.
The legendary guitarist has enjoyed an incredible five-decade spanning career which has seen him at the forefront of the disco explosion in the 70s with his band Chic and making hit records for other artists including Diana Ross, David Bowie, Duran Duran and Daft Punk among others.
Nile has been approached on numerous occasions with film offers but he wants his story to be told on stage soundtracked by his own music first.
When asked if a movie biopic could be made about his career, he said: “There could be but I have been turning everybody down. I want to do a theatrical music version of my life first.”
Nile thinks it will be tough to find someone who can play him though because they’d have to be more talented than he is.
Speaking at the Q Awards, he said with a smile: “I don’t know who could play me but they’d have to be more talented than I am! It’s something we are floating at the moment.”
Nile was presented with the Q Legend accolade at the ceremony held at The Roundhouse in London and in his acceptance speech he admitted that if it wasn’t for iconic British band Roxy Music he would never have had created Chic with his late friend Bernard Edwards
Speaking on stage, the ‘Good Times’ hitmaker – who has just released ‘It’s About Time’, the first new album from Chic for 26 years – said: “I’ve done a lot of records in my life and in a strange way, even though I am an American, born in New York City, the UK has had so much to do with the development of my career. Had it not been for me going around with this girl, who took me to see this then unknown band called Roxy Music, I never would have come up with the concept for Chic.
“We were in a bunch of punk bands and whenever we got dressed up in the morning, that was what we went on stage in that night. I went out to this club and I saw this beautiful band called Roxy Music and they were like gorgeous. They were decked out and dressed up to go on stage. The audience was beautiful. I got on the phone and called my boy in New York. I said, Bernard, we have got to do the black version of this s**t. It changed my life and from that moment on I was meeting people like David Bowie, George Michael and Duran Duran.”

Julia Louis-Dreyfus battled cancer with humour

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Louis-Dreyfus wanted to fight breast cancer “with a sense of humour”.
The 57-year-old actress admitted she would have usually dealt with her medical situation in private, but because work on ‘Veep’ would have to be halted while she sought treatment, she went public with the news and decided to try and take a light-hearted approach to battling the disease.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Originally, I’ll be honest with you, something like this journey I’d been on, I normally wouldn’t share such a private thing publicly
“[However], I knew it would get out there because I knew we had to shut down production for a number of months in order to accommodate my situation.
“So then I thought, ‘Well, I’m just going to embrace this and attack it and try to do it with a sense of humour. I was really pleased with the reaction.”
After Julia had her final chemotherapy session in January, she shared a video her sons Henry, 26, and 21-year-old Charlie – who she has with husband Brad Hall – had recorded to support her, featuring them lip syncing to Michael Jackson’s ‘Beat It’ and the actress thought it was the perfect tribute.
She said: “It had a sense of humour and it had a kind of ‘kick cancer in the ass’ kind of point of view.”
And now her cancer is in remission, Julia is back at work on the political comedy and “savouring every second”.
She added: “All the elements [are coming] together, it’s really kind lightning in a bottle. So I am relishing every blessed second.”
Julia recently admitted she is “grateful” to be alive after her cancer battle.
She said: “I’m grateful to be alive. I’m grateful for my heroic husband and our lovely young boys, or young men, I should say, who are our boys. And my friends and family. I’m grateful I have the life I have.”

Liam Payne feels close to loved ones

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne has “never felt closer” to his family and friends since splitting from Cheryl.
The ‘Strip That Down’ hitmaker – who has 19-month-old son Bear with his former partner – has vowed to “rise above the negativity” and hopes he can support his fans in the same way he’s received help over the last few months.
He tweeted: “Time to rise above the negativity I love positive people on Twitter. I’ve actually never felt closer to my family, friends and fans as I have the past few months with me whatever I’m going through.
“I hope I do the same for you.(sic)”
The 25-year-old singer previously hinted that he wasn’t the one who initiated the split as he has admitted the decision to separate was “unexpected.”
He explained: “I didn’t really expect any of this obviously and it’s difficult. I think sometimes people need to remember that behind all those statements and things there are actually people who are going through the same sort of stuff that you go through whether they’re famous, rich or whatever they are, it doesn’t matter.”
And Liam admitted a month after the split that it had left him feeling “fragile”.
He said in August: “Yeah, no I’m feeling ok, I’m a bit fragile at times. No I’m alright you know, it’s been ok. Obviously there’s a lot of stuff I’ve still got to sort out with my life but…
“You’re tryna like, you break up and like obviously we’ve broken up and then it was like a couple of days or a couple of weeks before we actually like put the announcement out and that’s the bit when it really hits home I guess but at the same point it’s like breaking up twice like, we already did this once and now I’m having to go through all of that again just because…”

Eva Longoria’s miracle son

OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Longoria has hailed her son as a “miracle”.
The 43-year-old actress and her husband Jose ‘Pepe’ Baston welcomed little Santiago into the world on June 19 and she’s still astonished that she created a “bundle of love”.
She posted on Instagram: “My little angel is 4 months old today! It’s going by too fast!
“I still look at Santi and wonder how my body created and nourished this little bundle of love! Truly a miracle! From the moment he was placed in my arms, I knew no love like this before. Happy 4month Birthday mi Santi precioso!!! (sic)”
The former ‘Desperate Housewives’ actress previously admitted she felt lucky to have had such a “dream” baby.
She said: “He’s a dream, and he’s such a good baby. I knock on wood. He’s just been so easy, so sweet, we’ve been really lucky, he’s super healthy. It’s just been great. Everything he does is cute. His noises he makes, his smile. He’s finding his voice, so he makes all these funny [baby noises], you’re just like, ‘What was that?’ He talks a lot. I mean, he just wants to talk and talk.”
And Eva has found breastfeeding gratifying because she’s been able to see him grow bigger and stronger.
She added: “What’s amazing is seeing him grow so much from just your breast milk. And I’m like, ‘This is crazy! All you’re eating is what’s coming out of my body and you’re just like doubled in size. And it’s going way too fast already.”
There’s a possibility that Eva and Pepe – who got marred in 2016 – may have more children in the future but right now she’s still “recovering” from her first pregnancy.
She said: “Oh gosh, you know what, let me recover from this one. It’s too soon to tell.”

William Shatner misses ‘brother’ Leonard Nimoy

OHMYGOSSIP — William Shatner misses his “brother” Leonard Nimoy “terribly”.
The 87-year-old actor was left devastated when his ‘Star Trek’ co-star passed away in March 2015 at the age of 83 and admitted he doesn’t laugh very often without his friend being around.
He said: “I miss Leonard terribly. He was the brother I never had. Our lives had similar patterns in terms of marriage, divorce, death, children and the fact our careers took many years to take off.
“He was very, very funny. Sometimes he made me laugh to the point of coughing. I don’t cough any more. That laughter is gone – so I miss that more than anything.”
The ‘TJ Hooker’ star missed Leonard’s funeral because he already had a charity commitment and though he’s still sad he didn’t get to say a final farewell to his pal, he still thinks he made the right decision.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I had what you would call a Hobson’s choice.
“I had Leonard’s funeral to go to, but many months earlier, I had obligated myself to a charity event.
“It was for the Red Cross and there were millions of dollars being raised, partially in my name. So I fulfilled the obligation where I said to the audience, ‘Fame is far more fleeting than you think. In days, weeks, certainly months, the ashes are forgotten, great reputations are forgotten. But what does remain is our good deeds. They reverberate until the end of time. And their good deeds that evening will be remembered long after Leonard and I pass’.”
William himself – who has three children with first wife Gloria Rand and married fourth wife Elizabeth in 2001 – feels healthier than ever and believes he’s currently busier than ever.
He said: “I’m the healthiest human being you would ever meet,” he proclaims.
“I exercise, I eat well and try to think positively. And I say yes to life, yes to opportunities and new ideas, and to the passions of life. I’m more creative than I’ve ever been. More active, perhaps than I’ve ever been. And I ride horses competitively all the time.”

Hollyoaks’ Gregory Finnegan has high hopes for dad James

OHMYGOSSIP — Gregory Finnegan hopes his ‘Hollyoaks’ alter-ego James Nightingale can “grow into” being a father.
The gay lawyer is set to be stunned by the revelation Romeo Quinn (Owen Warner) is the son he fathered when his bullying dad Mac (David Easter) forced him to sleep with a prostitute on his 16th birthday, and he’d like to see the twisted solicitor learn from the teenager.
Asked what kind of dad James will be, he said: “I dunno! He doesn’t seem to be a great one so far, it’s gonna be a new experience and one hopefully he grows into.
“I don’t think Romeo should be taught the things he could teach about life but Romeo seems like a well-rounded character, he’s been through a lot of things so it could possibly work the other way.
“I think Mac is pretty evil, he’s had that his entire life, he’s a very different character, he’s done bad things but he’s trying to be a better man I think.”
While James has no relationship with Mac, he’s close to his mother Marnie (Lysette Anthony) so Gregory expects there’ll be a major fallout once his character ego discovers his mum has concealed the fact he has a son for so many years.
He said: “It’s been a pretty whirlwind three years for the Nightingales, there’s been a lot of fractures and I don’t think that’ll let up. Marnie knew and we’ll see James find that out soon enough, so there’s more of that to come.”
James has been locked in a love triangle with Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) and Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) for the last few months, and Gregory thinks there’s still more to come from the ‘Jarry’ relationship.
He said: “I think this is going to rumble on for a little while yet, there’s genuine feelings there, for all the debacle around the wedding, I think there’s still more.”

Kieron Richardson: Parry Glasspool is like my brother

OHMYGOSSIP — Kieron Richardson says Parry Glasspool is like an “annoying little brother”.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actor enjoys playing out his alter-ego Ste Hay’s relationship with Parry’s character Harry Thompson, but admits “deep down” he knows his on-screen husband-to-be is better suited to James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan).
He said: “Parry’s like an annoying little brother. I’m quite protective of Starry, but I know deep down Jarry is a more suited couple.”
Parry added: “I say this all the time, but Kieron is such a pro. I learn something new every time I get to work with him. He always pulls a great performance out the bag.”
Ste and Harry’s wedding looks set to come under threat from both James and a huge storm which will wreak havoc in the village, and Parry believes his alter-ego would welcome an interruption.
He said: “James has that certain something that keeps anyone coming back for more! Love is a weird thing, and once it gets into your head, you can’t think of anything but that! And in Harry’s case, that’s James Nightingale.
“I think Harry likes James’s intelligence, and the fact that he’s a bit of a bad boy at heart … Harry has a habit for bad boy types it seems!
“He kind of wants James to spoil the wedding, so he can have an excuse to not go along with it. Ideally, he wants someone else to make up his mind for him, because he doesn’t want to be blamed for ruining someone’s life.”
Hollyoaks’ Storm Week will also see the return of Steph Davis as Sinead O’Connor, and Kieron admits fans will realise “how iconic” her alter-ego is when next week’s episodes are played out.
When asked which other character he would like to play, he said: “I’d normally say Darren Osbourne, but since the return of Steph Davis, I’d say Sinead.
“Following her return, the audience now get to see how iconic the character is.”

Nick Pickard nearly missed Hollyoaks 2nd recall

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Pickard nearly didn’t go to his second recall audition for ‘Hollyoaks’ because he had a plasterer coming to a bar he owns.
The 43-year-old star is the longest-serving cast member in the soap’s history after appearing as Tony Hutchinson in the show since the first episode in 1995, but he has his mum to thank for convincing him to attend the try-out for the programme.
He said: “When I started, I signed for 23 weeks. I have a pub in London, and I nearly didn’t come for my second recall because I had a plasterer coming to the bar.
“It was my mum who actually convinced me to go along to the audition.
“Life could easily have been so different.”
While Nick is still enjoying portraying Tony, he feels old at times when some fans say how long they have been watching him on screen.
He said: “I was out at the weekend and someone said to me, ‘I’ve been watching you since I was three.’ I was 20 when I started and now I’m 43 so when you hear stuff like that you think, ‘God, I’m old.’ ”
‘Coronation Street’ actor Bill Roache is in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest-serving male TV star in a continuous role after playing Ken Barlow since the ITV soap’s first episode in 1960 – but Nick doesn’t expect to break Bill’s record during his ‘Oaks’ tenure’.
He added to Inside Soap magazine: “I never imagined it being this long, so you never know … 60 years? That’s another 40 .. which means I’ll be 80. Dear me.”
