Duchess of Sussex compares pregnancy to ‘jet lag’

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duchess of Sussex has been waking up in the early hours to do yoga because she cannot sleep.
Pregnant Meghan and Prince Harry – who married in May – hit Sydney’s Bondi Beach on Friday (19.10.18) as part of their tour of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, and she told Charlotte Waverley, 35, about her sleepless nights, and how her pregnancy feels like “having jet lag”.
Charlotte – who is also pregnant – told the Daily Mail newspaper: “Meghan told me that pregnancy was like having jet lag. She said she was up at 4.30am this morning doing yoga in her room as she couldn’t sleep.
“It’s a bit of a double whammy for her, she said, as she has both the baby and the jet lag to content with.
“We both talked about how you feel jet lagged even though you have not travelled anywhere.
“Even in her jet lag she got up to do yoga this morning at 4.30. Physical activity like yoga and surfing is so good for healing your mind.”
The royal pair met a group practicing yoga on the beach, and one of the locals, Nio Poniatowski, 25, told how Meghan loves to take part in the physical, mental, and spiritual practice because it keeps her “grounded”.
She said: “Meghan said it was her ‘leveller’, it’s what keeps her grounded, like surfing does for us. She said it was her escape.”
Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, sat in a circle with a community surfing group called OneWave, which raises awareness of mental health, and the royal couple shared a big hug with the group members following a discussion about psychological well-being.
Surf instructor Sam Schumacher, 31, said: “The circle time was great. Two or three of us shared our personal stories.
“This visit will really raise the profile of what we are trying to do and the fact that mental health doesn’t discriminate.
“It can affect anyone and that we all need to try and look after each other.
“I can see the passion in their eyes.”

Rachel Shenton is married

OHMYGOSSIP — Rachel Shenton has got married.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actress tied the knot with her partner Chris Overton in an intimate ceremony in front of friends and family “not that long ago” and the brunette beauty admitted that, after their Oscar win for short film ‘A Silent Child’ in March, she’s not sure how she’s going to top such a “very good” year.
Rachel told The Sun Online: “We got married not that long ago in amongst all the madness!
“It was a very private event, we wanted to keep it private, but I am so happy though.
“It has been a very good year, I don’t know what we are going to do next year!”
Though the 30-year-old star insisted winning an Academy Award hadn’t changed her and Chris’ everyday lives, they have found it’s put them in a better position professionally and they are excited about the opportunities opening up for them.
She said: “I mean Chris and I are a bit boring and normal so I don’t think it has changed that much day to day really, but it has certainly changed us creatively in terms of what we want to do and the meetings we’ve found ourselves in and doors that have been opened.
“Both sides of the pond we’ve had great meetings and we are just very excited for the next projects and things.”
‘A Silent Child’ was directed by Chris and follows a deaf four-year-old girl named Libby (Maisie Sly) who lives in a world of silence until a social worker Joanna (Rachel) starts to teach her how to use sign language to communicate.
And while accepting her award at the Oscars, the actress gave her speech in sign language as it was a promise she made to her young co-star.
She said afterwards: “Every time we thought about preparing one, we felt weird in case it didn’t go our way.
“But I promised Maisie I’d do it in sign language if we won – and as Chris and I were going to be up on stage, I wanted her to be looking at us, not her interpreter.”

Amber Stevens West becomes a mother

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Stevens West has welcomed her first child with husband Andrew J. West.
The ‘Happy Together’ star confirmed she and her spouse became proud parents to daughter Ava Laverne West on October 7, which is also the newborn tot’s mother’s birthday.
The couple are “completely obsessed” with their new arrival and are looking forward to watching her grow.
Confirming the news to PEOPLE.com, Amber said: “We feel like we’ve been waiting our entire lives to meet our daughter, Ava.
“Now that she’s here, we’re completely obsessed. She’s already introduced a new and unique type of love into our lives and we’re so excited to see what else she will show us and teach us in the years to come.”
Ava was born at 6.03pm at a hospital in Los Angeles, and weighed a healthy 8lbs and 9 ounces.
The little one’s first name is inspired by one of her grandparents, whilst Laverne pays homage to both Amber and Andrew’s great-grandmothers.
The 32-year-old actress took to Instagram earlier this year to announce that she and Andrew were set to become parents.
Alongside a collage of pictures – which featured Amber’s blossoming baby bump, she wrote: “The best is yet to come! #comingthisfall (sic)”
The ’22 Jump Street’ star had really started to embrace her pregnancy curves as she later took to her Instagram Story to show off her expanding waistline.
She said: “My new look … So… This is new.”
The brunette beauty started dating Andrew after they met while co-starring in ‘Greek’ – in which she played Ashleigh Howard alongside his Fisher – in 2009.
They then tied the knot in December 2014 in front of friends and family at the Carondelet House, an Italian villa-style venue, in Los Angeles, California.
And, although the couple are relatively coy about their relationship, Amber couldn’t resist gushing about her beau on his 30th birthday back in 2014.
She wrote: “After 6 years I still wanna kiss you in dark corners,” she wrote on his 30th birthday. “Happy Birthday @andrewjwest #lifepartner. (sic)”

Paloma Faith blasts Seann Walsh and Katya Jones

OHMYGOSSIP — Paloma Faith has hit out at Seann Walsh and Katya Jones – insisting they should’ve taken their affection for one another back to their partners.
The 37-year-old singer admits it is “ironic” she is due to sing her hit ‘Loyal’ on the programme on Sunday night (21.10.18), after the comedian and the pro dancer were caught kissing on a night out, despite Katya being married to fellow ‘Strictly’ pro Neil Jones, and Seann having a girlfriend at the time.
She said: “It’s ironic the song I’m singing on it is called ‘Loyal’.
“There’s something really important and good to be said about fancying other people, as long as you don’t act on it.
“It’s important for your relationship. I think you’ve got to go out there and fancy somebody else, then go home to your person and be like, ‘bring it’.
“I’m a big believer in trying to have a love affair with your partner. Book a babysitter, have a weekend away, remember the person you got with in the first place, rather than go on ‘Strictly’ and snog someone else. Or go home and dance with your wife!”
Paloma – who has dated artist Leyman Lahcine for five years – says it is “terribly unfair” how the woman is often seen as a homewrecker when such incidents occur, insisting Seann should’ve kept “the flame alive” for his girlfriend, Rebecca Humphries, who dumped him after his and Katya’s kiss was exposed.
During a guest editing stint on The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, she added: “This poor victim! Seann, taken away … against his will.
“I think it’s terribly unfair. It’s as much a man’s duty in his relationship to keep the flame alive for his woman as it is for his woman.”
Paloma’s comments come after ‘Strictly’ judge Craig Revel Horwood blamed Katya for the snog scandal, insisting she shouldn’t have let it happen because it was like a “teacher snogging a student”.
He said: “I think I would put the ball in Katya’s court, she should not have allowed it to happen. One, she’s married, number two, he was in a relationship that is no longer, I’m talking as Craig Revel Horwood, this is not the view of the BBC, let me say.
“It’s a teacher snogging the student. It’s not the first time in anyone’s life, but these things do happen in real life.”

Judi Dench set for Cats movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Judi Dench is to star in the movie adaptation of ‘Cats’.
The 83-year-old actress – who was due play Grizabella in the original West End production in 1981, until she was forced to withdraw through injury – is set to appear as Old Deuteronomy in Tom Hooper’s film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famous musical, according to Deadline.
Deuteronomy was played by Brian Blessed in the original musical, so some lines look likely to change, particularly when the veteran moggie says he has buried “nine wives”.
Idris Elba looks set to play villain feline Macavity in the movie, and his alter-ego and his minions capture Deuteronomy in the musical, which is based on ‘Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats’ by T. S. Eliot.
Sir Ian McKellen, Jennifer Hudson, James Corden, and Taylor Swift are also set to appear in the motion picture, which will be produced by Hooper, Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Debra Hayward, while Steven Spielberg will be one of the executive producers of the project.
Hudson is to take on the prominent role of Grizabella, also known as ‘The Glamour Cat’, and will be lending her powerhouse vocals to the musical’s hit ‘Memory’.
It’s not yet known who Swift, Corden and McKellen will play, but other big parts include Skimbleshanks and the Rum Tum Tugger.
‘Cats’ was first performed in 1981, and follows the tale of a tribe of felines named Jellicles, who have to decide which of them should go to the mystical Heaviside Layer to be reborn.
The much-loved musical is the sixth longest-running show in West End history, and fourth longest in Broadway history.

Slipknot’s new album to be ‘most ambitious yet’

OHMYGOSSIP — Slipknot’s new album will be their “most ambitious, experimental” record to date.
Frontman Corey Taylor claims the group have written their “heaviest song” for the hotly-anticipated record – a follow up to their fifth studio album, 2014’s ‘.5: The Gray Chapter’ – and says their new material is “crazy”.
He said: “At a time when most bands are slowing down, I think we’ve written our heaviest song – one of them anyway – on this new album.
“It’s going to be f***ing crazy. People are going to s**t their pants when they hear it.
“It’s also us at our most ambitious, our most experimental, also us doing what we f***ing do best which is basically when everybody thinks they’ve got us figured out, we just smack them in the face with everything we’ve got.”
Corey says the band have taken inspiration from their second studio album, ‘Iowa’, which was released in 2001, for the new LP, admitting the new material will be a more “mature” version of that album, featuring some “really cool melancholic melodies” alongside fast riffs.
He added to Metal Hammer magazine: “The way we’ve been describing it is, ‘What if the guys who made ‘Iowa’ matured? What if the kids who made ‘Iowa’ grew up?’
“That’s kind of the way we’re looking at it because some of this s**t is so heavy – but there’s melody, there’s really cool melancholic melody going on.
“Some of this s**t is just so hard and dirty fast. It’s f***ing really good.”
Corey revealed in April that the heavy metal outfit – who entered a temporary hiatus in 2016 – were working on new material.
He said at the time: “The guys are writing tons of music and I’ve written lyrics to almost all of it.
“We’re going to start trying to put together demos here and there with the time off that I have and really try to get ahead of the curve as far as what happens next.”

Ed Sheeran and Jess Glynne’s studio therapy

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran and and Jess Glynne’s writing sessions turned into therapy.
The British pop stars have both been affected by the spotlight and when they were working on the song ‘Thursday’ in the studio, which is about the pressures placed upon social media users to look a certain way, talk soon turned to coping with being in the public eye.
Jess, 28, spilled to the Daily Star newspaper: “Me and Ed chatted about the pressure of the industry, how it’s changed our lives and how we deal with things.
“It was interesting talking to another artist who has had uber-success because he’s experienced certain things people outside of the limelight don’t understand.
“So it was good to have the perspective of somebody who gets it. It turned into a bit of therapy session – that’s where the song (‘Thursday’) came from.”
The flame-haired pair – who have also co-written Little Mix’s latest single ‘Woman Like Me’ featuring Nicki Minaj – also tackled ginger prejudice on the song from her forthcoming LP ‘Always Inbetween’.
The ‘Rather Be’ hitmaker said previously: “We talked about that (being redheads).
“It’s weird. I don’t understand why there is such a prejudice about it in this country.
“I’ve definitely heard all the ginger jokes. But guys get it a lot harder. I think it affected Ed more. But maybe people like Ed and me, we’re changing that. I love my hair. It is what it is, right?”
Jess has admitted she has felt “insecure” about her appearance over the years.
She confessed: “In this business, you are being judged all the time.
“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel insecure, like I wasn’t good enough or pretty enough, and it wasn’t enough just to have my music.”
Whilst they were influenced by their own experience of being judged by their hair colour on the song, it’s generally about the pressures young people face to post “perfect” photos of themselves on social media.
Jess explained: “Instagram and Facebook create so much pressure on kids. Nobody is perfect. People wake up and have scruffy hair and spots on their face, and that is all a part of life. I thought it was important for someone with a platform to say that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Claflin is among new cast members for the new series of ‘Peaky Blinders’.

In a statement, Sam said: “I couldn’t feel more privileged to be invited to join this iconic show.”
A tweet on the official ‘Peaky Blinders’ Twitter account announced: “**Big cast news** We’re delighted to announce that @SamClaflin, #BrianGleeson, #NeilMaskell, @dickie_kate, @CosmoJarvis and @EmmettScanlan will be joining #PeakyBlinders for series 5. @BBCOne’ Other new cast include Elliot Cowan (The Spanish Princess, Krypton), Charlene McKenna (Ripper Street), Andrew Koji (Warrior, The Innocence) and Daryl McCormack (A Very English Scandal). (sic)”
The latest casting follows the news that Anya Taylor-Joy has joined the gripping programme’s next instalment along with returning cast members Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Sophie Rundle, Finn Cole, Kate Phillips and Natasha O’Keefe, as will Aidan Gillen and Jack Rowan, Kate Phillips (Linda) and Natasha O’Keeffe (Lizzie).
Cillian Murphy’s character is set to face his “darkest force” yet in the upcoming series.
The 42-year-old actor’s alter-ego Tommy Shelby will be up against it more than ever when the popular drama returns as the Shelby family try to deal with the 1930s following the financial crash of 1929.
Creator Steven Knight said: “The story of the Peaky Blinders and of the Shelby family gets woven into the political fabric of Britain and Europe as the 1920’s end and the thirties begin.
“Tommy Shelby faces the darkest force he has ever faced and his struggle is as relevant today as it was then.”
The series will see Tommy approached by a charismatic politician who has a bold vision for Britain, but his response will be a huge decision for both his family and Britain.
Caryn Mandabach, executive producer, added: “Steve’s Birmingham saga becomes more fascinating and more relevant with every chapter. This one promises to be the best yet.
“I’m truly grateful to the BBC for their support of such thrilling, immersive and resonant storytelling.”
The fifth season will see the show make the move from BBC Two, which has been the programme’s home since 2013, to BBC One, following huge ratings and several awards.
The most recent series of the gangster drama reached an average audience of 3.3 million, and the show scooped a BAFTA for Best Drama Series.

Katherine Kelly: Coronation Street return would be hard

OHMYGOSSIP — Katherine Kelly says it “would be hard” for her ‘Coronation Street’ character to return to the cobbles.
The 38-year-old star portrayed Becky McDonald on the ITV soap from 2006 to 2012, and while it is possible she could return, the ‘Happy Valley’ actress thinks her alter-ego was very much “of the time”.
She said: “I’ve been asked this question so many times, that I actually think about it very deeply. I think that even though it was left open, it would be hard for her to go back.
Katherine thinks fans would feel “let down” if Becky returned to Weatherfield looking and acting like she used to.
Speaking to OK! Online, she added: “She couldn’t go back looking like she did. I think it would be a let down. I think some things are better left as they are.”
The ‘Mr. Selfridge’ star recently admitted her character would be in danger of coming across as a “caricature” if she returned to the cobbles as the “ladette” she was previously.
She said: “She was the first sort of ladette on those kind of shows so she couldn’t go back like that because I’m seven years older as well.
“So it would feel like a caricature and it felt so real at the time and things have moved on since then.”
Becky departed Weatherfield in 2012 when she went to live in Barbados with her boyfriend Danny Stratton (Jeremy Sheffield).
She was left devastated four years later when told her sister Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) had been killed, but couldn’t make the funeral due to an ear infection.

Stephanie Davis: Hollyoaks comeback is like going home

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis admitted returning to ‘Hollyoaks’ is like “going home”.
The 25-year-old actress was fired from the soap three years ago but recently reprised her role as Sinead O’Connor, and though initially getting back on set “was weird”, the brunette beauty couldn’t be happier to be back.
She said: “It’s amazing, it’s been one big journey then to come back after so long was weird, because it felt like I’d been away for ages and then it was like I’d never left.
“Obviously, Bryan [Kirkwood, executive producer] has been amazing, and all the cast, it’s just like going home.”
Stephanie reached out to showrunner Bryan about the possibility of a return to the soap earlier this year, and was unaware he’d already contacted her representatives, so they are both thrilled her comeback has worked out, and the actress is much more appreciative of the show now than previously.
Speaking at a screening of the show’s upcoming Storm Week episodes, she said: “It was weird, I was just sat there one day and thought, ‘I’m missing doing what I love, I’m gonna text Bryan,’ and I did but I didn’t know he was speaking to my agent as well, but he invited me back and it was quite emotional actually.
“It’s been a long journey, I was there when I was 16, I grew up with the show so it’s amazing to go back.
“I appreciate that a lot more now and how amazing it is, the scripts, the show and everyone I’m working with. It’s like a big family.”
Bryan added: “We’re very, very proud of her.”
Stephanie played Sinead from 2010 to 2015 when she was axed from the role, and in 2016 she appeared in ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, where she met Jeremy McConnell, and the pair later embarked on a relationship outside the house.
In February, Stephanie said she was an alcoholic and that she admitted herself to rehab following her split from Jeremy, who she has 21-month-old son Caben with.
Jeremy was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison after assaulting Stephanie, but insisted in July that he is now a “different person” following a stint in rehab.

Kylie Jenner opts for ‘natural’ look with fillers

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Jenner favours a “natural” look with her lip fillers.
The ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star – who has eight-month-old daughter Stormi with boyfriend Travis Scott – recently revealed she’d had her pout plumped again, less than three months after deciding to opt for her natural shape, and now her nurse has explained the 21-year-old beauty just likes a bit of help to “add a little pout”.
The injectables expert, who works at Motykie Med Spa, told Refinery29: “Just a small touch-up on her lip fillers. She doesn’t do anything else, just lip fillers.
“My philosophy has always been ‘less is more.’ We’re more of a conservative, natural practice, but the size does depend on the patient. Some people like to go really big and some people like to keep it natural.
“We went the natural route for [Jenner’s] touch-up since she’s so naturally beautiful and a new mom. A lot of people get fillers because they’re getting older and losing the hyaluronic acid in their lips, but she’s so young that it has nothing to do with aging.
“For her, it’s just about adding a little pout to her lips.”
The ‘Life of Kylie’ star has previously told how she opted for lip fillers when she was just 17 after being teased over her small mouth, and the nurse admitted the treatment is a great safe procedure to “boost confidence”.
She said: “We see people of all different ages come through the Motykie Med Spa for different procedures, but I definitely have younger people, especially women between 21 and 30, come in for the lip fillers.
“If someone has had small lips all their life, was teased in high school, and are looking for a safe cosmetic procedure to boost their confidence, this is it.”
The Lip Kit mogul first admitted in May 2015 she had been using fillers and explained last year she took the plunge after a guy thought she’d be a bad kisser because of the naturally thin shape of her lips.
She said: “I was 15 and I was insecure about my lips. I have really small lips. And it was like one of my first kisses and a guy was like, ‘I didn’t think you would be a good kisser because you have such small lips.’ But I took that really hard.
“Just when a guy you like says that, I don’t know, it just really affected me. I just didn’t feel desirable or pretty. I really wanted bigger lips.”

Joe Alwyn praises political Taylor Swift

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Alwyn thinks it’s “important” for Taylor Swift to encourage her fans to vote.
The 27-year-old actor has praised his girlfriend for her recent social media posts, in which she endorsed two Democratic candidates and encouraged her followers to vote early, despite her previously never airing any political views.
Asked on the red carpet at the BFI London Film Festival screening of his new movie ‘The Favorite’ about Taylor’s new political stance, he told a reporter: “I think it’s great, I think it’s important.”
As well as ‘The Favorite’, Joe can also soon be seen in ‘Boy Erased’, ‘Mary Queen Of Scots’, and ‘Operation Finale’, and he’s very “happy” with the direction his career is taking, insisting he’s not worried about his high-profile relationship overshadowing his professional life.
Asked if the expectation of his now-famous name bothers him, he told Metro.co.uk: “I just feel happy to be part of films that hopefully people are excited to see.
“To be here tonight… I’m happy to be a part of it and to be going around with it – I feel very lucky to be doing so.”
Ahead of the midterm elections, Taylor recently took to Instagram to endorse Tennessee candidates Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for the House of Representatives and urged her followers to vote for policies rather than people.
She wrote “I’m writing this post about the upcoming midterm elections on November 6th, in which I’ll be voting in the state of Tennessee.
“In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now.
“I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country. I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and that any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG. I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color is terrifying, sickening and prevalent.(sic)”

Bella Thorne only had $200

OHMYGOSSIP — Bella Thorne claims she was left with just $200 by the time she was 18.
The 21-year-old actress began her career when she was just nine years old and starred on ‘Shake It Up’ for three seasons but insisted she was broke when the Disney show ended.
However, asked where her money had gone, she simply told the Los Angeles Times newspaper: “You know where it went.”
The publication suggested the situation could have been connected with the Coogan law, which requires employers to withhold 15 percent of a minor’s gross wages, preventing income from going entirely to child actors’ guardians.
And Bella admitted she always knew there was something “not right” about her situation, even though she didn’t expect it to be so tough.
She said: “I didn’t think things were going to go down like that.
“And then half of me is like, ‘Come on, Bella. Look at your whole life. Don’t be naïve. You knew somewhere deep down inside things were not right.’ ”
In the candid interview, the ‘I Still See You’ actress – who has both a boyfriend, rapper Mod Sun, and a girlfriend, YouTuber Tana Mongeau – spoke of how she smokes marijuana to deal with intense emotions, even though she used to be “super against” the “devil’s lettuce”.
She said: “I used to be super, super against weed. When I was 16, my boyfriend smoked weed and I would get so upset. I thought it was the devil’s lettuce. I was always the really good two-shoes — the one that was the teacher’s pet in that annoying sense.”
But the actress asked her brother for the drug to help her sleep after she got too emotionally involved with one of her roles and couldn’t stop crying and her opinion changed.
Bella, who shares her home with 19 cats, admitted she loves to work because otherwise she ends up in a “weird place”.
She said: “My mind is a scary place. I can’t leave myself alone too long. My mind goes to a weird place if I’m not at work all the time.”

Avril Lavigne has no marriage regret

OHMYGOSSIP — Avril Lavigne doesn’t regret her marriages.
The 34-year-old singer – who split from first husband Deryck Whibley in 2009 after three years of marriage and went on to wed Chad Kroeger in July 2013 before separating in September 2015 – “loves love” and is still on good terms with both her former spouses.
She said: “I love love. The way I looked at it is I married my long-terms.”
The ‘Head Above Water’ singer first met Chad when it was suggested by her then-manager that they get into the recording studio together and they quickly fell in love.
Recalling her initial reaction to the collaboration suggestion, she told Billboard magazine: “He’s had a ton of hit songs. He plays guitar. This could be great…
“A month later, I had a 14-carat ring on my finger.”
And the 43-year-old rocker quickly caught her attention when he arrived for their first studio session with a $3,000 bottle of Screaming Eagle wine.
She said: “[I thought] ‘Like, I’m in love.’ ”
After two days in the recording studio, Avril made the ‘How You Remind Me’ singer get a matching tattoo with her, which read ‘Vivre le moment present’ – Live in the present moment – and she admitted around 75 per cent of her inkings were done in tandem with other people, including two she has with her Deryk, a musical note and a number 30 to mark the Sum-41 rocker’s 30th birthday, which fell after they had split.
But the ‘Girlfriend’ hitmaker admitted she doesn’t always remember getting inked, and it once came as a shock to her when she discovered a constellation of stars by her inner hip.
She recalled: “I remember, like, peeing. And looking at it like, ‘What the f**k did I do!? I love it.’ ”
