The superstar DJ and the pop star are anticipated to perform their mega-hit ‘Miracle’ at the awards ceremony at London’s The O2 arena on March 2.
Calvin said: “Can’t wait for a VERY SPECIAL performance with Ellie!”
The pair previously collaborated on the dance-pop anthems ‘I Need Your Love’ in 2012 and ‘Outside’ in 2014.
The star-studded bash will also see Becky Hill and Chase and Status come together for a “celebration of drum and bass”.
The ‘Disconnect’ hitmaker and the drum and bass duo – comprising Saul Milton (Chase) and Will Kennard (Status) – are nominated for Best Dance Act and Group of the Year, respectively.
Becky is no stranger to the BRITs, having previously performed in 2023 alongside David Guetta.
She said: “I can’t wait to perform again on the BRITs and it’s been difficult trying to top flying from the ceiling of the O2 last year, but I’m excited about what we have planned for this year’s performance. I’ve been a fan of Chase and Status my whole life, so to have them on stage performing with me is going to be really special. It’s a real celebration of drum and bass – my favourite genre of music!”
Chase and Status added: “For us as producers and artists, being nominated for a BRIT is a special thing. It is a representation of where British music is at, at the highest level, so to be in that category is an honour. Also to be performing with Becky, a fellow BRIT nominee, is pretty special too.”

Ariana Grande blends house music with ‘a little R’n’B on Eternal Sunshine

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande’s new album ‘Eternal Sunshine’ boasts “house music and a little R’n’B”.
The 30-year-old star’s label boss has teased what fans can expect from the eagerly awaited follow-up to 2020’s ‘Positions’.
Republic Records co-president Wendy Goldstein said in new behind-the-scenes video shared by Ariana on Instagram this week: “Between you and Max [Martin] it’ll just be perfect. The vocals are great. The changes, the tempos, the house music of it, then there’s a little R’n’B. It’s you. It’s like an elevated version of all the albums that came before like ‘Sweetener’ meets kind of a ‘Thank U, Next’.”
So far, fans have heard the lead single ‘Yes, And?’ – which subsequently got a Mariah Carey-featuring remix – and they won’t hear anymore singles before the record drops next month.
The Grammy winner recently insisted she wants her supporters to listen to this LP in full when it’s released on March 8, rather than being drip-fed the material bit by bit.
She wrote on her Instagram Story earlier this month: “We are a little over a month away from ‘Eternal Sunshine’ and I don’t think it’s possible to articulate how grateful I am for your love, support and excitement!
“I wanted to say…as hard as it is to resist the urge to share another song or single with you all asap, I would really love for you to experience the album in full this time.
“There will of course be more singles off of this project once it is out (and we may have a little surprise or two up our sleeves to hold you over until then so don’t you worry) but waiting a little longer for you to be able to listen fully through first really is my ideal way for you all to experience this body of work.”
Ariana thanked fans for trusting her “vision and plan” for hotly anticipated album.
She continued: “You have waited so long for new music from me and I am so grateful for your patience!
“I look forward to savoring every second of this new era with you all and I sincerely cannot wait for it to be yours!
“It’s going to be (and already is) so special. I am so excited for all that is to come. More than ever.
“Love you so so so!!! (sic)”
Ariana herself described the record as “a concept album”, noting that a lot of the songs are “really vulnerable”.
In a previous post on Instagram, she explained how she invited family, friends and members of her team at Republic Records to listen to an advanced preview of the collection.
She said: “I’m nervous, but I wanted to share this with you because it’s kind of a concept album.
“It’s all different, heightened pieces of the same story [and] of the same experience. I’m weirdly emotional but… this is what’s going on.
“Some of them are really vulnerable, some of them are [me] playing the part that people expect me to be sometimes and having fun with that.”

Beyoncé makes history as first Black woman to top country chart

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyoncé has become the first Black woman to top Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.
The ‘Crazy in Love’ hitmaker surprised fans when she dropped two new country music songs – ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ and ’16 Carriages’ – and she has now made history with the former hit after it debuted at No.1 on the US chart.
A week after they dropped, ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ garnered 19.2 million streams and ’16 Carriages’ earned 10.3 million.
The 42-year-old Grammy winner confirmed plans to release a country-themed album in an advert for Verizon which aired during the Super Bowl VIII on February 11, in which she attempted to break the internet with stunts including a hologram called Beyonc-AI and a film called Barbey before she declared: “OK, they ready. Drop the new music. I told y’all the ‘Renaissance’ is not over.”
‘Renaissance Act II’ – the second part of her planned ‘Renaissance’ trilogy – will land on March 29.
However, not everyone is pleased with the R’n’B superstar’s interpretation of country music, namely, including outspoken ‘212’ hitmaker Azealia Banks, who went as far as accusing Beyoncé’s husband, music mogul Jay-Z, of “bullying” her into doing it.
The 32-year-old rapper began her Instagram Stories post: “I love you down, but them R’n’B runs over the Leslie feist back beats is giving Pickmesha.
“Nothing country about it. You’re setting yourself up to be ridiculed again. There’s a theatrical element to country music. Them [country] critics are not just going to accept an ugly blond wig and bullying from Jay-Z. It’s giving big-time musical grift. (sic)”
Referring to country star K. Michelle (aka Puddin), 41, she continued: “Yes, Black girls can make country music, but you’re just really not hitting the button.
“K. Michelle, this is your turn to really execute. It’s no shade, but K. Michelle truly understands the assignment.”
Turns out, Michelle – whose real name is Kimberly Michelle Pate – is fully behind Beyoncé’s foray into country.
She posted to X (formerly Twitter): “Y’all been mentioning me all night.
“I’m just happy to be spoken about in my genre. I love Bey and will be supporting her like I always do.”

James Brown’s daughter says Michael Jackson and Usher wouldn’t exist without her father

OHMYGOSSIP — James Brown’s daughter has declared there would be “no hip-hop, Michael Jackson or Usher” without her late father.
Deanna, 55, says the soul and funk legend – who died aged 73 in 2006 – was hugely influential on the late King of Pop and the ‘My Boo’ hitmaker, as well as several genres, including hip-hop, and music wouldn’t be the same without him.
Speaking to PEOPLE to promote A+E’s four-part docuseries, ‘James Brown: Say It Loud’, she said: “There would be no hip-hop. There would be no rap, because he’s the most-sampled artist.
“There would be no Michael [Jackson], there would be no Usher, there’d be no Chris Brown — all these people who took from him.”
Deanna continued: “I mean, where would it be? You could ask a lot of these musicians, they’ll tell you the same thing. It would probably be zero. I think LL [Cool J] says that in the documentary that the trajectory of music would be — he can’t even imagine where it would be without James Brown.”
His other daughter, Yamma, 50, discussed her father being the creator of funk and influencing many genres.
She said: “Somebody sitting at home maybe watching it and think, ‘His story is not that dissimilar than mine and look what he went on to do.’ And if you can inspire somebody to be the greatest at what they can be, that’s amazing.”
On what her father would have made of the series, she added: “I just wish he was still here to see some of this. He would not believe it.”
The ‘Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine’ hitmaker’s five-decade career saw him start out as a gospel singer before pioneering and experimenting with funk, soul, blues, jazz, R’n’B and rock and roll.
His sweat-inducing live shows saw him dance intensely, including dropping to his knees while clutching the microphone stand in his hands, and often went on for hours.
Brown – who has nine children – famously sang in a rowdy, shouty style.
In a 1988 interview with SPIN magazine in 1988, he shed some light on the invention of funk.
Brown explained: “Funk is the root of the blues.
“It’s soul, jazz, and gospel. Funk is coming down on the one. If it’s on the one, then it’s funky. But it’s hard for me to get people to understand that.
He continued: “It took me four or five years to get Bootsy Collins to understand what ‘on the one’ was. Most people didn’t know what it was. They know now. ‘Take me to the bridge,’ I heard someone use that expression maybe 45 years ago, referring to the middle part of a song, and I changed it to mean a release.”

Noel Gallagher and Gibson selling 20 signed ’78 Les Paul Custom guitars for charity

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher has teamed up with Gibson to release 20 signed ’78 Les Paul Custom guitars for charity.
To celebrate the Grand Opening of the Gibson Garage London, the former Oasis guitarist has inked his signature on a limited run of the instruments that will go on sale in-person only at the official opening of the new flagship store on Saturday, February 24, 2024.
Profits from the sale of the guitars will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust, of which the ‘Wonderwall’ hitmaker is an ambassador.
The guitar is inspired by the one the Britpop legend received from his pal Johnny Marr, 60, formerly of The Smiths, who recently admitted he stopped drinking alcohol after he happily agreed to replace the smashed-up guitar he kindly gave Noel.
The ‘Some Might Say’ hitmaker used it to defend his younger brother, former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, 51, when a stage invader tried to attack him at a gig in Newcastle.
Generous Johnny had also given Suede’s Bernard Butler another Gibson guitar.
He told The Guardian last year: “It’s just to be nice. As simple as that. Bernard is a good friend and I knew he’d love that guitar. And me giving Noel those guitars has become such a big story over the years, but people don’t realise that at the time he wasn’t who he is now.
“He was just a kid from Burnage. I had no idea Oasis were going to go on to such big things. I did it because he was in need, because I was lucky and had lots of guitars, and because I wished someone had done it for me.”
However, he admitted he was far too kind when he agreed to give Noel a replacement whilst hungover and it was from then on, he decided to ditch booze.
Johnny – who often gets mistaken for Noel – added: “I must confess it’s why I quit drinking. I wasn’t drunk, but the chances are I was very hungover when I agreed to that.”
Noel famously used the instrument on Oasis’ 1994 tune ‘Whatever’ and other recordings.
The Les Paul Customs boast a lightly aged Ebony finish by the Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab and the 56-year-old musician’s handwritten signature.
Noel said: “The Les Paul Custom that Johnny gave me in 1994 was always one of my favourite guitars and it carries a lot of history. The reissues are great, they feel almost identical. I am delighted they are being sold to support the Teenage Cancer Trust.”
Lee Bartram, Head of Marketing, EU and UK, Gibson Brands, commented: “As Gibson continues the relationship with Noel Gallagher there is no better way to start 2024 by supporting a truly amazing cause which is close to both our hearts and minds.
“We have worked closely with The Teenage Cancer Trust for many years, and it’s always an honour and privilege to support them in raising much needed funds and awareness for the work they do.”
Jane Ashton, Head of Music and Entertainment, Teenage Cancer Trust, added: “Teenage Cancer Trust’s musical history started in 2000 with the launch of our iconic annual series of shows at the Royal Albert Hall. Noel Gallagher was there for that very first performance, and as an ambassador of the charity has been relentless in his support of young people with cancer ever since.
“These guitars are steeped in their own musical history celebrating the iconic moment one British music legend gifted a priceless guitar to another, like the handing of a baton. Our sincere thanks to Gibson guitars, long-term supporters of Teenage Cancer Trust, and our Ambassador Noel Gallagher. The money raised will make an enormous difference in the lives of young people with cancer and could fund two Outreach nurses for an entire year, helping us to reach more young people in the UK no matter where they live.”
The Gibson Garage London is located at 61-62 Eastcastle St, London, UK (one block from Oxford Street) and is open daily Monday-Saturday from 10am to 7pm and from 12pm to 6pm on Sunday. For the latest news and updates on the Gibson Garage London, follow @GibsonGuitarUK on Instagram.

Gwen Stefani ‘almost throws up’ singing old No Doubt hits

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwen Stefani “almost throws up in her mouth” singing old No Doubt songs.
The 54-year-old star is set to reunite with her group at Coachella in April – which will mark her first performance with the ‘Just A Girl’ ska punk hitmakers since 2015 – but she’s nervous about delving into their classic back catalogue.
As quoted by the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column, she said: “I can’t listen to a lot of songs because they speak so clearly to me.
“You have regrets, you make mistakes, and a lot of songs are about that.
“When I do ‘Ex-Girlfriend’, when I say it I almost throw up in my mouth because I just know exactly where I was at the moment to write that song. It brings you right back.”
In the first verse, she sings: “I kinda always knew I’d end up your ex-girlfriend, I hope I hold a special place with the rest of them.
“And you know it makes me sick to be on that list, but I should have thought of that before we kissed.”
Gwen is excited to be back on stage with her bandmates, and despite any nerves about the performance, she knows it will be “like riding a bike”.
Speaking on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ last week, she said: “It’s going to be amazing. I’m so excited and I think what is going to be hilarious is I know what’s going to happen.
“I’m going to get on stage and look around and just start cracking up. It’s just going to be like riding a bike.
“We’re going to be like, ‘What are we doing? We’re in the future right now.’ ”
However, there could be an issue with the lyrics as Gwen – who accidentally revealed ‘Different People’, from 1995 album ‘Tragic Kingdom’ will be on the setlist – admitted she doesn’t recall all the words.
She confessed: “I don’t remember them, no. Not at all. I think I’m going to have to learn like eight or nine.”

‘See you this summer!’ Swedish House Mafia to play 6-week Ibiza residency

OHMYGOSSIP — Swedish House Mafia are to play a six-week residency at Ibiza’s Ushuaïa.
The house supergroup – made up of Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso – took to social media to confirm they will play over six Sundays in July and August this year.
Swedish House Mafia wrote on Instagram: “Our first Ibiza residency in over a decade. 6 Sundays only at @ushuaiaibiza. Tickets available now in bio. See you this summer!!! (sic)”
This comes after Steve recently revealed the group have been in talks with Coldplay’s Chris Martin about working together again, after they remixed the Grammy-winning band’s 2011 track ‘Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall’, which samples the 70s’ hit ‘I Go to Rio’ and reached the Top 10 in the UK.
Steve recently told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “We’ve spoken to Chris Martin about it.
“It would be cool to do something, so hopefully we can get it in the studio.
“That would be sick, because his vocals and the writing style would work really well with how we sound.”
In 2022, Steve admitted the group hadn’t ruled out following in ABBA’s footsteps and performing as avatars when they are “too tired” to get up on stage.
He said: “When we are too tired to go out there and when we are not addicted to the energy of the fans, yeah, maybe.
“The tech will be amazing. In 20 years you may not notice the difference.
“We will be walking holograms that run around on stage.
“Right now we are too addicted to the energy in the room so we won’t turn into avatars quite yet.”

Swedish House Mafia’s Ibiza Residency:

July
21 – Ushuaïa, Ibiza
28 – Ushuaïa, Ibiza

August
04 – Ushuaïa, Ibiza

Idles’ Joe Talbot is reading a tale on CBeebies’ Bedtime Stories

OHMYGOSSIP — Idles’ Joe Talbot is set to read a tale on CBeebies’ ‘Bedtime Stories’.
The 33-year-old frontman of the British rock band is thrilled to have landed the gig as he loves reading to his own child.
He said in a statement: “It’s an honour to announce that I am reading a CBeebies Bedtime Story.
“I can NOT express how much I love reading to my kid so this was a welcome twist in an already beautiful career. All love.”
The ‘POP POP POP’ songwriter will read the tome ‘Under the Love Umbrella’ by Davina Bell.
The likes of Dave Grohl, Sir Elton John, Harry Styles, and Dolly Parton have read a story on the popular children’s show.
Joe’s episode will be broadcast at 6.50pm GMT on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.
Meanwhile, Joe recently admitted that becoming a dad made him more “delicate” and that is apparent on their new album, ‘Tangk’.
In a recent interview with NME, he explained: “‘Delicate’ is the word. Since becoming a father, I’ve addressed that in my art. I was a very impatient man; even after sobriety. I was nasty back in the day when I wanted to be, and I hurt a lot of people. I wanted to stop, and that takes time and forgiveness. I found patience, but in the most beautiful way…”
He added: “I’ve learned from being a dad that to go through things with grace, be delicate and to celebrate the small beautiful things that you can overlook so easily if you’re impatient with the world, you miss out on a lot of tiny details that will make your day. It’s got to come out in my art, because that’s how I am.”
The LP has just topped the Midweek UK Chart and looks likely to nab No.1, in front of Paloma Faith’s ‘The Glorification of Sadness’, which is new at No.2.
‘Tangk’ is the follow-up to 2021’s ‘Crawler’, which was a Top 10 in the UK.

Jennifer Lopez hints tour could be her last

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez has hinted her upcoming tour could be her last.
The ‘Jenny From The Block’ star, 54, has confirmed she’s preparing to hit the road this summer for the ‘This Is Me … Now’ tour which features more than 30 dates across North America including stops in Florida, Texas and California as well as Canada but she’s now suggested the massive trek could be the final time she embarks on such a massive trek.
During an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, she said of the tour: “We’re going in! My last hurrah!”
She went on to insist her goal for the shows is to make sure her fans have a good time.
Jennifer added: “That’s my goal when people come to my show. I always want people to leave and be like, ‘That’s the best show I ever saw!’That’s what I want.”
The tour is in support of her new album of the same name, and she feels like she’s already well prepared for the shows because she previously mapped out choreography for the Amazon original film she made for release alongside the record.
Jennifer explained: “Of all the albums I’ve ever made I feel like this one is really ready for the stage because of the Amazon original [film] I did with it. It’s ready. All the choreography. All of it’s ready to go.”
She also insisted that her dance background influences every song she records – because she needs to be able to see how she will perform it.
Jennifer said: “Because … I started as a dancer, everything I do is about movement. Everything is about: ‘How will I perform this?’ When I’m creating music, I tell the producers: ‘I’ve got to be able to perform this on stage. We’ve got to pick it up. Come on’.
“Even though I have that … R B mid-temp feel to my music, I always try to get that little funk in there … because I’ve got to be on stage doing my thing.”
The tour kicks off in Orlando, Florida on June 26 and concludes in Houston, Texas on August 31.

The ‘Diamonds’ hitmaker’s partner A$AP Rocky – with whom she has sons RZA and Riot – has confirmed the Fenty Beauty founder, 35, is actively getting her follow-up to 2016’s ‘Anti’ ready.
In a viral clip, fans asked about the album and the 35-year-old rapper simply replied: “She’s working on it.”
Fans are still waiting for that all important release date.
In December, the ‘We Found Love’ singer declared she is in an “era of discovery”.
The Barbadian star isn’t entirely sure what her future will look like – but she’s still excited “for what is to come”.
Rihanna told Complex: “I’m in an era of discovery. And maybe it’s rediscovery because so much is changing, and some things are fleeting. And some things are yet to be discovered, right? And I’m in the centre of all of that.
“So I’m not on a landing yet, but I’m excited for what is to come because I have the feeling of what it is. But I can’t put it into words, and I know the journey is going to be exciting of getting there. And that’s not just with fashion or my daily routine … with music, all of it! I’m really excited to explore things right now.”
The ‘Kiss It Better’ singer also revealed that she’s “open to exploring” as she works on new music.
She shared: “Musically I’m feeling open.
“I’m feeling open to exploring, discovering, creating things that are new, things that are different, things that are off, weird, might not ever make sense to my fans, the people that know the music I’ve put out. I just want to play. I want to have fun with the music.”

The collection will contain six tracks and will be accompanied by a six-part docuseries, which will “trail J-Hope’s dance journey” and see him meet street dancers in Osaka, Paris, New York, Seoul and Gwangju.
A press release from BigHit Music noted that dance is “the core of J-Hope’s artistic roots and identity.”
The first episode will arrive on Prime Video on March 27, with new episodes made available every Thursday and Friday, and the album follows on March 29.
The 30-year-old K-pop star – who is currently completing his mandatory military service – released his debut solo album, ‘Jack in the Box’, in 2022, which received an expanded ‘HOPE’ edition last year.
Meanwhile, the South Korean boy band – also comprising RM, 29, Suga, 30, Jin, 31, V, 28, Jimin, also 28, and 26-year-old Jungkook – plan to reunite in 2025.
BTS revealed at their annual FESTA dinner, in 2022, that they would be focusing on solo projects and military service.
Noting a conversation he had with his bandmate Suga during a livestream on Weverse, RM said in 2023: “He told me that there were a great number of ARMY [their fans] across the globe wanting the seven of us to reunite and perform again.”
He continued: “But as I’m working on my solo project, I keep thinking this way: ‘This is like a vacation’.
“What I mean by that is that it’s a kind of vacation that we, BTS and ARMY, need to take to successfully come back as a whole. So, I believe all our solo activities are important trips for our next chapter, and they’re also trips which we must go on in order to safely come back home.”
RM insists: “We’ll be joining together again. And that will be in 2025.”

Taylor Swift’s new album was a ‘lifeline’ for the pop superstar

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift has admitted her upcoming album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, was “really a lifeline for me”.
The 34-year-old pop megastar – who split from her longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn, 32, last year and re-recorded her early albums after a dispute over her not owning the rights to her masters – was reminded how much writing lyrics gets her “through” the ups and downs of life whilst making the follow-up to 2022’s ‘Midnights’ and confessed she was going through a lot.
Speaking to fans at her Melbourne Cricket Ground concert on Friday (16.02.24) she said in a clip shared to X/Twitter: “‘Tortured Poets’ is an album — I think more than any of my albums that I’ve ever made — I needed to make it. It was really a lifeline for me.”
She continued: “Just the things I was going through and the things I was writing about.
“It kind of reminded me of why songwriting is something that actually gets me through my life, and I never had an album where I needed songwriting more than I needed it on ‘Tortured Poets.’”
Displaying a different album cover on the screen behind her, she explained: “I wanted to show you something tonight because we’ve got an alternate cover to ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ that nobody has seen and there’s an exclusive song on this vinyl called ‘The Bolter.’”
Taylor – who is now dating 34-year-old NFL superstar Travis Kelce – added: “This is called ‘The Bolter Edition.’ Look at that cover, it’s so tortured [and] so poetic. I wanted to show that to you here in Melbourne because you’ve just been the best that you could possibly be.”
The ‘Cruel Summer’ singer announced her 11th studio album whilst accepting the Album of the Year prize for ‘Midnights’ at the Grammy Awards earlier this month.
The ‘Anti-Hero’ hitmaker later shared the 17-song tracklist for the upcoming collection with an image of herself alongside writing that said: “I love you, it’s ruining my life.
“From the desk of Taylor Swift.”
The record features two collaborations, with Post Malone and Florence and the Machine, ‘Fortnight’ and ‘Florida!!!’, respectively.

Ronan Keating and Beverley Knight to headline Kew the Music 2024

OHMYGOSSIP — Ronan Keating and Beverley Knight are the final headliners confirmed for Kew the Music 2024.
The former Boyzone star – who has had solo hits with ‘Life Is A Rollercoaster’ and ‘When You Say Nothing At All’ – will bring his hits-packed show to the botanical garden in southwest London on July 10.
Soul superstar Beverley Knight – whose hits include ‘Shoulda Woulda Coulda’, ‘Come As You Are’, ‘Keep This Fire Burning’ – will headline on July 13.
Both will be joined by special guests.
Tickets for the shows will go on pre-sale from Thursday (22.02.24) at 10am, and general sale on Friday (23.02.24) at 10am from www.kewthemusic.org.
Previously confirmed headliners include MIKA on July 9, Passenger on July 11, JLS on July 12, and Richard Ashcroft on July 14.
Known for surprises, last year Lewis Capaldi shocked gig-goers at The Vamps’ Kew the Music show by hugging singer Brad Simpson onstage – in what marked his first appearance since his Glastonbury set that led him to step back from performing for the “foreseeable future”.
Fans of the boy band – also comprising Connor Ball, Tristan Evans and James McVey – screamed hysterically as the pair embraced to the side of the stage where Lewis was watching their set.
The ‘Someone You Loved’ hitmaker – who is a Vamps super fan – came out during their performance of ‘Risk Of It All’ and grabbed Brad’s microphone before he appeared to sing, though he could not be heard over the animated audience.
