Damon Albarn wants to be hologram

OHMYGOSSIP — Damon Albarn hopes to live on as a hologram after his death.
The 49-year-old singer is fascinated by the fact his animated band Gorillaz have recorded with a number of now-deceased stars, including Bobby Womack, Lou Reed, Ike Turner and Dennis Hopper, but they will still be able to appear with his group in digital form, and hopes his own virtual likeness will be belting out his hits in the years to come.
He said: “We could almost have a whole evening of people who aren’t here any more.
“I love the idea that eventually when I am here no longer I’ll be just a hologram. They’ll just press that button and up I pop.”
As well as Gorillaz, Damon works with a string of other acts and projects, including Blur, The Good, The Bad and the Queen, and Africa Express, and compares his diverse career to being a farmer.
He explained: “I’m like a rotational crop farmer. I wanted to be a farmer as a child.
“I don’t think you should push anything unless it’s fertile ground.”
Damon – who is joined by the likes of Jehnny Beth, Noel Gallagher and De La Soul on the new Gorillaz album – loves collaborating with new people and seeing what happens when they get into the studio.
He said: “I love that journey of meeting someone, playing an idea, talking around it, and then starting to move towards your destination.
“You’ve got to put people at ease. I never say, ‘You’ve got to do this’. Maybe that’s the secret, just let people be themselves.”
Though the likes of Morrissey, Dionne Warwick and Sade declined the chance to appear on the new Gorillaz record, Damon didn’t get upset.
He told Q magazine: “I don’t take rejection personally. The more people you put your arms around, the better it is.”

Harry Styles' bathroom worry

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles is “a bit worried” about toilet breaks now he’s a solo artist.
The ‘Sign of the Times’ singer used to be able to step off stage to relieve himself mid-show when he was touring with One Direction, but now he’s going it alone, all eyes will be on him and he won’t be able to discretely disappear for a few minutes.
He said: “I mean, when 1D used to tour, there used to be times when I could pop off stage and go for a wee during the show if I needed to, because someone else was doing something – and I can’t do that anymore. I’m a bit worried about it.”
While Harry is now with Colombia records, he still values the opinion of his former Syco label boss, Simon Cowell.
He told radio station Key 103: “I did play [my single] for Simon actually. I will still be asking him to download it though.
“It was amazing to be able to work with him for so long and now it’s amazing to be able to go to him and ask what he thinks of my song and talk to him as a friend.”
As well as Simon, the 23-year-old hunk also values the opinions of fellow singers Adele and Ed Sheeran.
He said: “I love the way [Adele] does things. She’s classy and I think she very much leads by example in terms of doing things you believe in.
“I think Ed is one of the most talented dudes I’ve met. He’s definitely a special person.
“Obviously, as you can see from how the new album’s done, he’s an outrageous musician.”

Questlove leads tributes to Tom Coyne

OHMYGOSSIP — Questlove has led the tributes to Tom Coyne.
The renowned mastering engineer – who has worked with artists including Beyonce, Mark Ronson, Britney Spears, Common, George Michael, Adele and Amy Winehouse – passed away this week at the age of 62 and a number of stars rushed to pay tribute to him.
Questlove took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute to his late friend, whose cause of death has not yet been revealed.
He wrote: “Man this hurts. The only dude I let master all of my product #TomCoyne passed away. Coming to his mastering studio was always my fav part of making records. He was so patient w me ESPECIALLY the way the I get down with sequencing and segue timing on albums. He knew I placed songs in rhythm like they were being spun at a club so damn near every Roots album would take an unusual 40 hour process. Not to mention all of those album intros listen to #ThingsFallApart’s “Act Won” intro w MoBettaBlues dialogue–it was his idea to match the Roots commentary w Denzel/Spikes dialogue “if we had to depend on black people to eat we would starve to death/everybody wake up” “you see everybody but our people/ghead w yourself” “it incenses me/BDAHADAHDADHADA!!!!!”—he suggested it would be cool if you guys had sound bites from your own work that mirrored what the dialogue was saying. But man ALL my records and Common’s albums and D’angleo—-matter of fact I forgot we used Tom because he friggin did all the classic records.
“His ears were bar none THE BEST. All of #KoolAndTheGang’s post Ladies Night albums, #BillyOcean’s Suddenly album. #Whodini’s Escape & the 1st #FatBoys lp. #SexPackets by #DigitalUnderground. #BDP’s #Edutaiment & #SexAndViolence all the #DeLa classics all the #Tribe classics #93ToInfinity #Reachin #WolfInSheepsClothing #BlowoutComb #ReturnToThe36Chambers #LiquidSwords #OnlyBuilt4CubanLinx (his stories from this mastering session about them acting out THE ENTIRE Killer movie will be the GREATEST studio story I’ve ever heard) #MrSmith #ItWasWritten #Embrya #12Play #LoveDeluxe #MamasGun Brittany Robyn Beyonce 1Direction, Maroon5, Macklemore & Ryan, Pink, Mary J, Ronson, Taylor Swift—I forgot even Hamilton!!! This guy was the pair of ears we trusted to bring the music to you.
“Much love to his family and his children. For friggin at least 20 albums I’ve driven you crazy & learned so much about how people hear music (tip: most of the time we’d use a cheap clock radio speaker because if it sounds great on Horrible equipment then imagine how it bumps elsewhere!) thank you for all the lessons you’ve taught me Tom Coyne!!!! Music Will Never Be The Same Again (sic).”
Mark Ronson also tweeted: “so sad to hear the news about Tom Coyne, the legendary mastering engineer. so talented and kind. he’ll truly be missed by many of us (sic).”
And DJ Premier wrote: “Rest In Peace to Tom Coyne…One of the most Legendary Mastering Engineers of our Era for HIP HOP Labels and Black Music Period… (sic).”

Blondie's producer worried about hositility

OHMYGOSSIP — Blondie’s producer once feared they would “shoot” one another.
The ‘Rapture’ hitmakers relationship had deteriorated and become so hostile by the time they recorded ‘The Hunter’ in 1982 that Mike Chapman found making the album “dangerous”.
Mike – who was lodging at Chris Stein and Debbie Harry’s New York apartment – recalled: “The whole album give me the creeps. I had a room at the top and so many nights I’d hear something and look down and I’d see Debbie sat in this chair beneath a black mosquito net, surrounded by candles, just sitting there, doing God knows what.
“By then, the whole band, it was like everybody hated each other. I felt at any point somebody was going to pull out a gun and shoot someone. Really. It was a dangerous vibe in the studio.”
And with hindsight, most of the band recognise that drugs were a problem within the group.
Clem Burke said: “Three people in the band were seriously into drugs. But we all used them recreationally, Mike included.
“I just remember stacks and stacks of beer cans in the studio. We would toss them into the corner and by the end of the session it was like the Empire State building of beer cans.”
Chris added: “We did way too many drugs. Everyone was doing f***ing tons of cocaine and that was considered OK. But if you were doing heroin that was like, ‘I can’t talk to you anymore.’
“So there was this big line drawn and it all got very weird.”
However, singer Debbie insists the main problem was a lack of time off.
She told Q magazine: “I don’t think the drugs were the real problem in Blondie. We’d worked years without a vacation, we were expected to produce a huge amount of material, we didn’t have proper management and we had a bad record deal. I mean, how much can one take?”

Pearl Jam's ex-drummer claims he wasn't invited to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony

OHMYGOSSIP — Pearl Jam’s former drummer David Abbruzzese has claimed he wasn’t invited to their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction earlier this month.
The 48-year-old musician was the drummer for the rock band from 1991 to 1994, and has claimed that he, along with former drummers Jack Irons and Matt Chamberlain – who were all not formerly inducted into the hall – were never invited to the ceremony.
In a lengthy post written on Facebook, David – who provided the drums for the 1994 album ‘Vitalogy’ – said he gave the band “all he had” and said he “never let the fans down”.
He wrote: “The band and the hall did not invite or contact me.. The band tweeted that they welcomed the idea of the event granting the possibility of all the drummers to be in the same room. That isnt an invite.
“I personally have deep respect for all drummers and of course the five that participated in the pearl jam bands carreer… I am going to say this; For the band to put me in the same light as Matt Chamberlain & Dave K really was a slap in the face. Nothing to do with those guys as people or players. Respect… but as a contributor? A band member? A definitive contributor to the energy and power of where the band went? …the sacrifices, the work, the physical and emotional contributions…not to mention the personal weight of carrying onthrough and after unceremonious and disrespectful way I was fired.
“I gave this band all I had to give every single moment I was in it. I never played for a paycheck. I never let the band down. I never let the music down. I never let the fans down… not once. I suppose that is why I am still such a point of contention. Truth be told, if I would have been inducted, I would have requested my tech, Jimmy Shoaf Jr. and my daughter, Francesca to say a few words on my behalf. IF THEY HAD invited me to be there to witness the bands induction? Nope. To do that would justify the mistake and disrespect the core fans that took this band to heart back when all we were to become, we had to earn and also, most importantly, we had to prove we deserved every single time we took the stage. And we did that.
“We, the Pearl Jam band & original crew, deserved to be inducted & respected. I’m proud of my old friends for managing it all so well. I dont know if I heard anyone say it, but you’re welcome and thank you, too.
“Okay. There, I said it. I own it. I have to clarify that I mean no disrespect at all to pearl jam, it’s management or anyone who has ever been or currently is a member of the organization. (sic)”
Pearl Jam were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 8, and saw frontman Eddie Vedder, bassist Jeff Ament, guitarists Stone Gossard and Mike McCready, and drummers Dave Krusen and Matt Cameron formerly inducted.

Atomic Kitten planning new songs

OHMYGOSSIP — Atomic Kitten are going to record a new album.
The ‘Whole Again’ group – which currently features Kerry Katona, Natasha Hamilton and Liz McLarnon – know the fans who go and see their shows are keen to hear their old hits, but they have also been busy writing new songs.
And after touring Australia and New Zealand with a string of other groups, the Kittens – which featured Michelle Heaton in place of Liz during the gigs as she has a fear of flying – were pleased to see how positively audience responded to B*Witched’s new material.
Kerry said: “People just want to be nostalgic and hear our old hits. But Natasha has written some amazing songs. I keep saying let’s record them. We might as well.
“That’s what B*Witched did on the tour and they ended up reaching number 11 in New Zealand. We were so proud of them.
“That was just amazing and it made us think, why can’t we do that too?”
But for now, the band are focused on a number of other upcoming overseas date.
Kerry told OK! magazine: “We’re going to India and Asia. It’ll be me, Michelle and Tash. It’s just gone a bit mental after the Australian tour.
“I have no idea [if we were big in India]. I’ve never been to India, but I’ve longed to go there.
“It’s one of the great things about being back with Atomic Kitten. First time around I didn’t really appreciate seeing other countries. Now I just think, how lucky am I?”
But the mother-of-five does find it tough being away from her kids when she’s on tour.
She said: “I rang them every morning. At one point I did burst into tears and feel like going home.
“But thank God for all the technology we have now, you can FaceTime people.”

N-Dubz '100 per cent' reuniting

OHMYGOSSIP — N-Dubz are “100 per cent” reuniting.
The London-based band, which was comprised of Dappy, Fazer and Tulisa, decided to go their separate ways in 2011 to focus on their solo careers, but the group have confirmed they will “definitely” be making a comeback “soonish”.
Speaking about their plans to reform as a trio again, Fazer – whose full name is Richard Rawson – told OK! Online: “100 per cent, that’s definitely going to come really soonish.”
However, the ‘Papa Can You Hear Me’ hitmakers’ are still focusing on their individual projects for the time being, but as soon as the moment is right they will come together again.
The 30-year-old rapper explained: “Not right now, we’ve all got individual things we’re focusing on at the minute, but obviously it’s all about timing.”
The group decided to take some time apart because they had been together for over 10 years and they all felt it was time they enjoyed “some holidays” and spare time alone with their close friends and family.
Speaking about the reason behind their break up, Fazer explained: “We’d been in the group since 11 and 12 years old, before we got our first break at like 21 years old, so for ten years of our life every single day.
“I was 26 at the time, we just thought it’s time to go on some holidays, spend time with friends and family and then we’ll bring it back.”
Despite rumours the threesome parted because their friendships had broken down, the dark-haired musician has stressed the reason for their hiatus was “never” because they fell out, as they all still see each other and keep in contact.
He added: “It was never a fallout, we took a break when we were at the peak. We’d literally just finished an arena tour, so we thought, ‘Let’s do it while we’re on a high’.
“They’re family. Dappy was at my house Christmas Day, I left Christmas Day and four or five days later I ring my mum like, ‘Alright mum, how you feeling?’ and she says, ‘I’m good, you know Dappy’s still here, I’ve been cooking for him every day, he won’t leave.’
“And T [Tulisa] has been in the family for years, obviously her mum had her issues and stuff, so sometimes she’d be in hospital with her and I’d come home at three or four o’clock in the morning, T would be in my bed sleeping, so I’m like, ‘Okay, something’s happened, she’s here’.”
N-Dubz last record was 2010’s ‘Love.Live.Life’.

Original Jamiroquai keyboard player Toby Smith dies

OHMYGOSSIP — Original Jamiroquai keyboard player Toby Smith has died at the age of 46.
The musician and producer – who was in the funk pop band from 1992 to 2002 – passed away on Monday (10.04.17), according to a post on the ‘Hot Property’ group’s fan page, Funkin.
A statement read: “It is with great sadness to hear and relay the news that original Jamiroquai keyboard player Toby Smith died on 11th April 2017.(sic)”
The cause of the star’s death is not yet known.
Toby – who was a popular producer and also managed the band The Hoosiers – was responsible for co-writing a lot of the group’s songs with frontman Jay Kay during his 10-year career with the ‘Cosmic Girl’ hitmakers, including 2001’s ‘A Funk Odyssey’.
He also produced the music of ‘X Factor’ winner Matt Cardle at his own Angelic Recording Studios based near Banbury in Oxfordshire.
Jamiroquai’s original bass player Stuart Zender has taken to Instagram to share a touching tribute to Toby by sharing a throwback picture of them together, and hailed him the “most talented musician”.
He wrote: “I love you so much. My big brother Toby crossed over to the other side last night. All my fondest memories are of him and the band that we created. The most talented musician I have ever had the honour to make music with. There will never be another like you Toby. Your light will shine on eternally
“Thank you for making mine and everyone’s life so bright. I celebrate your love and life! Rest in Love. Your bald brother Stu (sic)”
Jay Kay and the rest of the band are yet to comment on their former band mate’s tragic passing.
Jamiroquai recently made a comeback with their new album ‘Automation’ and are on tour this summer in the UK and Europe.

Jessie J's new album will be 'honest' and 'herself'

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessie J learnt on her break from recording to just “be herself”.
The ‘Price Tag’ hitmaker is currently working on her follow-up to 2014’s ‘Sweet Talker’ and during her hiatus she came to realise that the most important thing in life is to not “compare” herself to anyone else and follow her own path both personally and musically.
Asked what she learnt about herself during her time away from the spotlight, she said: “That to compare is actually a negative. You have to focus on your own inner path and light, signature and individuality. I’ve definitely learned to act on my instincts and trust them. Valuing myself and understanding that you have to do what you love. That sounds so easy but it’s hard to do, especially in this industry. I’ve got to an age where I just want to live out my truth.”
As for what to expect for her fourth studio LP, the 29-year-old pop star says she is going back to her “roots” by interjecting honesty.
She explained: “I’ve recently let my friends know that I’m working on new music. It’s been a very incredible process for me in the last two years. With this next lot of music, I’m very much going back to my roots like on my first album [2011’s ‘Who You Are’], which was very honest. I needed to go back to where it all began; to take a break in a good, positive way. From the ages 25-30, you learn so much and grow as a person. You become who you’re going to be for a long time. I’ve also enjoyed the process of just getting back to songwriting on my own. Where I’m at with the new music, everything written thus far I’ve written by myself. I’m really proud of it. It doesn’t reflect anything I’ve ever done before, which is exciting.”
Jessie has teamed up with producer DJ Camper – who has worked with the likes of John Legend and Tamara Braxton – for the record and she is waiting for the right time to put it out.
She told Billboard magazine: “It’s an album musically that I’ve wanted to make for a long time and had to find the right time. Everyone who’s heard the album so far says it’s very honest and very grown.
“I’m speaking on issues that a 29-year-old goes through which is different from what I’ve sung about in the past.
“But I have to be true to what’s in my mind and heart. I’m working with one producer, DJ Camper [Mary J. Blige, John Legend], on this cohesive piece of work.
” It’s a piece of music as opposed to singles and album fillers. I feel like I’m making music. I don’t know when it will be out. I’m just enjoying the process that everything happens for a reason, trusting in time and feelings.”

Harry Styles' solo album tracklist and release date revealed

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles will release his debut solo album on May 12.
The 23-year-old singer has taken to Instagram to share the tracklist for the record and reveal its release date.
Songs on the 10-track album include his debut solo single ‘Sign of the Times’, along with tunes including ‘Meet Me In The Hallway’, ‘Carolina’, ‘Two Ghosts’, ‘Sweet Creature’, ‘Only Angel’, ‘Kiwi’, ‘Ever Since New York’, ‘Woman’ and ‘From The Dining Table’.
And it appears as if the album will be simply called ‘Harry Styles’ as he included the caption: “HARRY.STYLES //12.MAY.17// (sic).”
Harry also shared two new pictures of himself, shirtless in a pool of pink water.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, Harry compared releasing his new music to giving birth.
The One Direction heartthrob admitted that branching out on his own away from the band has left him feeling “vulnerable”.
He recently explained: “It’s very much like giving birth – without the pain, obviously. It was very exciting. It was nerve wracking. Also, very exciting to have a job again.
“But I think honestly, any time you are putting something out that’s kind of a piece of you, I guess it’s quite a vulnerable feeling. But it is exciting. I like it. And I think that helps in terms of the nerves. I think if I was putting something out that I didn’t like, then I’d be much more nervous.”
But his solo career got off to a shaky start when a Spotify glitch prevented users from listening to the track.
A source explained: “This is a nightmare start for Harry’s solo career and his record label won’t be happy.
“The Spotify malfunction meant many of his fans simply couldn’t find his song to listen to online when they searched for it.
“The potential ramifications are big and it’s likely he has missed out on hundreds of thousands of streams as a result. That could really affect his chart position.
“Harry’s launch is one of the industry’s biggest this year and everyone expected him to hit the ground running by topping the charts.”

Rita Ora's new album will 'shock' people

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora says her new album will “shock” people.
The ‘Body On Me’ hitmaker is gearing up to release her first record since her 2012 debut LP ‘Ora’, and has teased that it will touch on more “personal” aspects of her life as she admits she has always tried to keep her private life out of the limelight, but she is ready to bare her soul on her second record.
She told the My issue of the UK’s Shape magazine: “Of everything I’ve accomplished, I’m proudest of my new album. It’s going to shock people. I think it’ll be like, ‘Wow, I didn’t know she had those emotions.’ Because I don’t think they really know me … They see pictures of me, they watch me on TV, but I try to keep my personal life as private as possible, and I don’t post pictures of who I’m seeing. On this album, though, I say things I think people have been wanting to know. But it’s done in a moving-forward way. It’s a positive, uplifting album.”
It was recently revealed that the blonde beauty has tapped David Bowie’s former drummer, Mick ‘Woody’ Woodmansey – who is known for his work with the late music legend’s band The Spiders from Mars and for performing with the ‘Starman’ hitmaker during his Ziggy Stardust phase – for the album.
The 66-year-old sticksman, who was unsure as to Rita’s singing abilities but was “pleasantly surprised”, recently said: “I was like ‘are you sure you want what I do? I’m a hard-hitting rock guy’ but it was exactly what she wanted.
“I had her in this bag with the modelly, X Factor singers that probably need auto-tuning.
“But when we came together in the session she can really sing. I was really pleasantly surprised, she’s got a great voice.”
The ‘R.I.P.’ hitmaker earned £3 million in 2016 – despite not releasing a single track of her own last year.
The singer-and-actress hasn’t released a new song since ‘Body On Me’, ‘Coming Home’ and ‘Poison’ in 2015, but she has kept the money rolling in thanks to her promo work with various brands including Adidas and Coca-Cola, and from starring in the two films in the ‘Fifty Shades’ franchise.
Last year Rita signed a new deal with Atlantic Records UK – a subsidiary of Warner Music Group – following her departure from Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation and insisted that her second album will be deeply personal.

Morrissey cancels gig due to 'health concerns'

OHMYGOSSIP — Morrissey was forced to cancel his Texas gig on Wednesday night (12.04.17) due to “health concerns”.
The former Smiths frontman axed his show at the San Antonio’s Tobin Centre just two days after his set in Arizona was cut short after just six songs.
A statement on the venue’s website reads: “Following health concerns stemming from Morrissey’s appearance in Tucson, it is with great sadness that tonight’s sold out engagement in San Antonio at the Tobin Center is cancelled to allow him to fully recuperate. your purchase will be refunded to the original transaction credit card, or if purchased by cash or check a check will be mailed to the name and address on the original transaction. According to Tuscon.com, the 57-year-old rocker’s voice cut out during his set in Tuscon on Monday (10.04.17).
The singer was mid-way through performing ‘Everyday Is Like Sunday’ when he stopped the gig.
He told the crowd: “It seems I have left half my mouth in Guadalajara.”
Gustavo Manzur, Morrissey’s keyboard player on tour, said at the gig: “His voice is shot. You heard it, you heard it.
“He’s been trying, trying really hard. He came out, he tried. His voice is really shot. We’re sorry. He’s sort. You know he tried.”
Despite Morrissey trying to perform he was unable to continue and promoters emailed the fans apologising to them.
The message read: “Obviously this was out of our control and we are doing what we can to determine whether we will be able to reschedule Morrissey’s concert in the not-too-distant future.
“We appreciate your patience while we are negotiating with Morrissey’s management team.”
The tour is expected to resume in Houston, Texas, from tomorrow night (14.04.2017).
Last year the ‘Girlfriend in a Coma’ singer cancelled a rescheduled US tour and gave fans a health update following his cancer treatment in 2014.
Speaking in an interview with Israel’s ‘Walla’ in 2016 he said he thinks cancer treatment has slowed him down.

New Kids On The Block want Mark Wahlberg to rejoin pop group

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Wahlberg is wanted to rejoin New Kids On The Block for their new tour.
The 45-year-old Hollywood actor’s brother and former band mate, Donnie, has revealed the group – which he quit in 1988 before they got famous with their hits ‘Hanging Tough’ and ‘You Got It (The Right Stuff)’ – are desperate for him to perform with them for their upcoming shows.
Donnie would settle at his sibling – who most recently starred in 2016’s ‘Deepwater Horizon’ – reforming his hip-hop outfit Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, who were signed to Atlantic Records from 1989 to 1993, and had a hit with ‘Good Vibrations’, which made it to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1991.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, Donnie – who is currently joined in the band by Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Jonathan Knight and Danny Wood – said: “We got back together in 2008, and I think the entire band can agree we have had more success this time round than when we were younger and we are really enjoying it now.
“We really are having a lot of fun and, yeah I would love to see Mark perform with New Kids.
“Or even perform as Marky Mark just one more time – it would be a lot of fun and he’s got some hidden talents.”
Those expecting the ‘Step by Step’ hitmakers to bust out crazy dance moves like they did back in the day will be disappointed on this tour as they are toning it down.
Donnie said: “We still do some moves, but we have reduced the choreography about 20 per cent and each tour because we are getting a little older.
“Also we don’t need to do it as much, we are letting the fans dance more than us.”
During their career spanning more than three decades New Kids On The Block have released six studio albums.
The group recently dropped the single ‘One More Night’ from the upcoming EP ‘Thankful, which drops in May to coincide with their tour, which kicks off on May 12 at the Value City Arena, Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Ellie Goulding prepping album four

OHMYGOSSIP — Ellie Goulding has started writing her fourth studio album.
The ‘Still Falling For You’ hitmaker was meant to be taking a break from music, but she has revealed that she has been tucked away in the studio in London penning new songs for her follow-up to her 2015 record ‘Delirium’.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, she said: “Right not I am writing my fourth album, which is quite insane to think that I’m on my fourth album, at this point – but it’s coming together slowly.
“I’m writing a lot in London in a studio so watch this space.”
The 30-year-old blonde beauty previously said she planned to step away from touring and just live a normal life for a while.
She said: “I’m still going to be writing, but it’s been so overwhelming the past few years that it’s time to go away for a little bit and be out of the limelight.
“It’s really a commitment, being on the road; you almost put everything on hold – seeing family, seeing friends. I’ve missed so many weddings and births.
“It will be nice to wake up and know I don’t have anything to do.”
The ‘Starry Eyed’ singer recently opened up about the crippling anxiety attacks she suffers from and how she was afraid was “afraid of letting everyone down” when she first became a singer.
She said: “My life completely changed when my career started taking off in 2010. I was thrilled, of course – sharing my music with the world was a dream I’d been working toward for years -but it was a lot all at once. Suddenly, I was living alone in London and everything was happening so fast.
“I started having panic attacks, and the scariest part was it could be triggered by anything. I used to cover my face with a pillow whenever I had to walk outside from the car to the studio. My new life as a pop star certainly wasn’t as glamorous as all my friends from home thought. Secretly, I was really struggling physically and emotionally.
“I think part of what sparked my panic attacks was not feeling confident enough to believe in myself – I was scared I wasn’t as good of a singer as everyone thought I was. And as the stakes grew, I was afraid of letting everyone, including myself, down.”

Kasabian to perform new material at special event in London

OHMYGOSSIP — Kasabian are to perform tracks from their new album ‘For Crying Out Loud’ during an intimate gig at London’s Kentish Town Forum on April 19.
The English rock group have collaborated with Amazon Music and Twitch to give fans worldwide an online gaming and concert experience, which will see the band participate in an exclusive ‘FIFA 17’ event, take part in a Q&A session and then take to the stage to perform their new material.
Guitarist Serge Pizzorno said: “What a way that would be to kick off our run of intimate shows at the Kentish Town Forum. We’re buzzing to play our new tracks live to fans in such a small venue, it’s going to be incredible.”
Fans of the band will be able to watch the ‘FIFA’ gaming action and Q&A on the social video platform Twitch.
Steve Boom, the Vice-President of Amazon Music, said the day will allow the band – which also includes Tom Meighan, Chris Edwards and Ian Matthews – to realise their ambition of playing soccer in front of a “global audience”.
He explained: “It’s no secret Kasabian are as passionate about Leicester City and football as they are about music, so we’re excited to help them fulfil a dream of playing in front of a global audience.
“The band are one of the most thrilling, exciting acts in British music so we’re proud to help bring these global gaming and concert experiences to millions, along with giving Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers access to enjoy tracks from their new album.”
The band are set to perform a series of intimate shows ahead of the launch of their new album ‘For Crying Out Loud’, which will be released in the UK on May 5.
