Craig David’s music proves he is ‘heterosexual’

OHMYGOSSIP — Craig David believes his music proves he is “heterosexual”.
The 36-year-old singer has admitted he leaves his love life “open” because he doesn’t feel he needs to “reinforce” his sexuality, but he also thinks his songs, which are mostly centred around seduction and romancing a female, is “very evident” to any doubters about his beliefs.
Speaking to The Sun’s Bizarre Life podcast about the speculation surrounding his romantic life, the ‘7 Days’ hitmaker said: “You know what? I leave it very open because at the end of the day it’s one of those things where I shouldn’t have to reinforce and state, ‘No, I’m a heterosexual’ — because that’s all nonsense.
“I think it’s very evident in the way my songs are and how I speak about relationships so I wouldn’t even go into it. It’s like if that’s what you feel it’s what you feel.
“The only person that it really matters is the relationship that I’m in and I know, I know.”
And the artist thinks it is “strange” people are always trying to “define” others based on their beliefs.
He continued: “I feel in the sense that if you’re heterosexual, if you’re bisexual, if you’re gay, if you’re a lesbian, if you’re transgender, whatever the vibe is, that’s what you represent.
“I’ve always found it quite strange that we always like to try and define people and say this is how it is and this is how it should be.
“That’s one of the things that the internet and social media have really opened up and allowed.
“People have got a voice now. We’ve got to stop the nonsense now and open it up.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Fill Me In’ vocalist has revealed he would love to start a family of his own one day because he thinks he would be a “very good dad” as he could pass on “a lot of wisdom” to his brood.
Speaking about his future goals, he said: “It would be amazing to share my journey with somebody and that’s the big difference.
“I’d love to have kids. I think I’d be a very good dad and I think I’d have a lot of wisdom to share.
“But even with age you’ll just know, you’ll just be with someone and you won’t think about it. You’ll just be like, ‘I want to have children with you and this just feels right’.”

Pink drunkenly asked Eminem for collaboration

OHMYGOSSIP — Pink drunkenly asked Eminem to make a guest appearance on her new album.
The ‘Get The Party Started’ singer recorded the track ‘Revenge’ with Slim Shady for her new album ‘Beautiful Trauma’, and she admitted the collaboration came up after she had “a lot of wine” one night.
Speaking to the LA Times: “We wrote the song, Johan, Max and I, and I wanted a rap Grammy. So I drank a lot of wine and I wrote a rap, and I was mediocrely impressed by my rap skills.
“Then I went home and drank more wine, because that always sounds like a good idea, and I emailed Eminem and I said, ‘I’ve loved you since you gave me your autograph in 2001 at the MTV Awards, and I’m gonna be a rapper now and you’re gonna rap with me’. And he wrote back and said OK.”
Pink – who will release the album on Friday (13.10.17) – also opened up about a potential pairing with ‘Piano Man’ legend Billy Joel.
While she asked the star to write with her in the past, he always claimed he was done working on “pop music”, but he eventually agreed to give it go.
However, it didn’t go to plan, with Pink explaining: “The problem is he’s too good for me. I clammed up. But we’re gonna keep trying.
“He goes, ‘Do me a favour: Go home, pick out the best poem you’ve ever written and send it to me, and I’ll make you a song.’ I got home and was like, ‘All my poems are the worst pieces of trash I’ve ever seen in my life.’ ”

Roger Daltrey finally feels ready for his memoir

OHMYGOSSIP — Roger Daltrey will release his memoir in 2018, after finally having enough “perspective” to justify publishing the book.
The 73-year-old legendary rocker has been a member of The Who for more than 50 years, and while he’s “resisted” the idea of penning the project for a long time, he has accepted that it’s now time to tell his story.
In a statement, he said: “I’ve always resisted the urge to ‘do the memoir’, but now, finally, I feel I’ve enough perspective … When you’ve spent more than half a century at the epicentre of a band like The Who, perspective can be a problem.
“Everything happened in the moment. One minute, I’m on the factory floor in Shepherd’s Bush, the next, I’m headlining Woodstock.”
The book – which is currently untitled – will be released in August 2018 through Henry Holt and Co. in the United States and Blink Publishing in the United Kingdom.
Daltrey admitted it’s been a long journey to piece the memoir together, and said it’s “nothing short of a miracle” that he’s still around to share his story with the world.
He added: “It’s taken three years to unpack the events of my life, to remember who did what when and why, to separate the myths from the reality, to unravel what really happened at the Holiday Inn on Keith Moon’s 21st birthday … I hope the result is more than just another autobiography.
“I’ve been lucky enough to live in interesting times. I’ve witnessed society, music and culture change beyond recognition. That I’m still here to tell my tale when so many others around me didn’t make it is nothing short of a miracle.”
Last year the frontman discussed the possibility of the book, and insisted he’d only push forward with it if he felt it was really worth it.
He said at the time: “I’ll only release it if it’s a good book. I don’t care how long it takes … Most of the rock biographies that I’ve read I kind of got bored with about halfway to two-thirds of the way through. I hope not to fall into that trap.”

James Arthur pens song about his favourite tipple

OHMYGOSSIP — James Arthur has penned a song about his penchant for wine.
The 29-year-old singer got the chance to spend some time writing with Ryan Tedder whilst on tour with his band OneRepublic in the US this summer, and has revealed he already has the track they wrote called ‘Drink The Wine’ for his next record.
The ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ hitmaker – who is a recovering drug addict – says he enjoys the odd alcoholic beverage after he’s performed to “unwind” after the “comedown” from the adrenaline rush from performing live.
He said: “There’s a new album in the making.
“Ryan’s an incredible songwriter. We wrote a few songs together, we’d have a glass of red wine.
“We wrote a song called ‘Drink The Wine’. A beer, or a glass of whiskey or a glass of red wine, is my treat after a show.
“It helped me unwind, so that’s been the treat. It’s such a weird thing after a show; you have this comedown because it’s a climax when you’re on stage.”
James plans to return to the studio in December after his UK tour to focus on his next record, after the success of 2016’s ‘Back From The Edge’.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: “Hopefully, I’m spending the December period making music.”
The British star – who shot to fame after winning ‘The X Factor’ in 2012 – previously admitted he “fangirled” for a week when he heard Ryan loves his work.
He said in June: “I’m beyond stoked for [the tour], it’s going to be sick. I’ve never done a full band show in America and my first one is going to be supporting OneRepublic.
“We’ve done a lot of acoustic kind of stuff here, but I can’t wait to show people the whole production.
“Ryan Tedder is one of the best in the world, in terms of singer-songwriters. I was told that they were fans of me and asked and I was like, ‘Are you f***ing kidding me?’ It was a no-brainer.
“It’s weird about him saying that my voice is bonkers – I was fangirling over that for a good full week.”

Dua Lipa has been working with Naughty Boy

OHMYGOSSIP — Dua Lipa has recorded new music with Naughty Boy.
The 22-year-old singer has revealed she’s been busily collaborating with the British DJ, and she’s confirmed that their effort could even appear on Naughty Boy’s new album.
She shared: “We went to write a song for my album. I was in the studio with him and this songwriter called Emily Warren, who actually wrote ‘No Lie’.
“We wrote a song together and he really liked it so it might be on his album.”
The London-born star also revealed the unreleased track is very “personal”, although she remained tight-lipped about the subject matter.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I really don’t know what the future holds for that song but it’s a personal song. I feel really close to it.”
Dua released her self-titled debut album earlier this year, and the singer subsequently confessed that the experience of recording the album taught her a lot about herself.
Reflecting on the process, Dua said: “I learned a lot about myself. I learned about the way I like to work, I learned to try to be as much of an open book as possible.
“That was really important to me to learn to be more honest with myself.”
Dua also said that the process of recording the album and later, performing her songs on stage was “magical”.
The singer explained: “Being able to work with so many incredible songwriters, to get to experience how their brains work and what it takes to write a song. I think that’s really magical.
“Being able to perform songs live, and every night when I go out on stage that’s the closest I’ve ever been to magic. It’s really real.”

Björk has flute obsession

OHMYGOSSIP — Björk is obsessed with the flute.
The Icelandic singer was forced to learn the harmonious instrument as a child because her mother couldn’t afford the oboe and, at the time, thought it was really “uncool”, but she has thoroughly enjoyed incorporating the sound into her forthcoming ninth album ‘Utopia’ and revisiting something she once hated.
Speaking to W magazine, she said: “Well, I wanted to learn the oboe as a child and my mother couldn’t afford it so I learned the flute and a little bit had this strange immature feeling that it was my second choice for the six or eight years I studied it, depending how you count (recorders included or not).
“But it was crazy for this album now coming back to it after all those years later, like looking at a not so cool part of my childhood, flutes were always a bit naff, and looking at it so much later through a timeglass and seeing another thread and linking it together and bringing it forth to now.”
‘Utopia’ will be the follow up to her 2015 experimental electronica album ‘Vulnicura’ and, after keeping fans waiting for almost two years, she has confirmed the LP is finally ready for release on November 1 after she finished up in the studio recently.
She explained: “I’ve been in the studio a little too long sooo I’m all sleepy but happy here, just having sent the last files to mastering, album ready (sic).”
The 51-year-old singer has once again worked with Alejandro Ghersi – also known as aka Arca – who co-produced on the album.
She said: “At the end of ‘Vulnicura’ I felt a deep musical connection with him. I felt guilty having dragged him through such a dramatic and difficult subject matter and that we had earned a lightness. I can merge with a male producer and not be paranoid about being typecast as just the vocalist and so on.”

Michael Ball and Alfie Boe in record attempt

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Ball and Alfie Boe are to attempt to break the world record for the most public visits by a musical group.
The classical singing duo will attempt to beat the current record held by Irish boyband Westlife, who visited five cities in 36 hours in 2002.
The pair will head to five cities in 24 hours on the release date of their second album ‘Together Again’, which is released on October 27, kicking off in Alfie’s hometown of Blackpool before they hit HMV stores in Sheffield, Manchester and Nottingham to sign albums for fans.
Of the record attempt, Michael and Alfie said in a joint statement: “We are ecstatic (and slightly nervous) to be taking on a new challenge, especially one that allows us to meet fans all over the country! What better way to celebrate the new album?”
Ball and Boe bring the West End, Broadway and Movie classics back to life on ‘Together Again’.
The record features a wealth of hits from a ‘West Side Story’ medley to ‘New York New York’, As If We Never Said Goodbye and Bring Me Sunshine.
The second album is part of a partnership with Decca Records as the label announced three new signings: Michael Ball joins as a solo artist, Alfie Boe returns as a soloist, and Ball and Boe reunite as a duo.
The pair will also be returning to screens for their own ITV Special ‘Ball and Boe Back Together’ later this October, following the huge success of their first special last year.
The pair will bring their live show to arenas across the UK later this year, starting in Cardiff on November 30 and concluding at London’s The O2 on December 14.

Jack Savoretti unveils new LP Songs From Different Times

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack Savoretti has announced details of his new album ‘Songs From Different Times’.
The 34-year-old singer/songwriter will release his sixth record on November 3, to mark 10 years since the ‘Whisky Tango’ hitmaker signed to original label, De Angelis Records.
The release is comprised of some of his lesser known tracks from his 2007 debut breakthrough LP ‘Between The Minds’ and 2009’s ‘Harder Than Easy’.
It will be the first time many will get their ears around the songs as a lot of them have been very difficult to get hold of on CD, especially outside the UK.
Last month, Jack had the chance to perform at arenas around Europe as the opening act for US R&B superstar John Legend.
Jack said the experience was daunting at first, but “kept him on his toes”.
Speaking after the gig, he said: “It’s hard not to be overwhelmed by it, but we came from festival season where you’re always out of your comfort zone.
“You’re not always playing to your own crowd, there’s always something that can go wrong – it keeps you on your toes.”
The folk rocker will perform a headline show at the Indigo at The O2 on October 27.

Louis Tomlinson announces surprise song

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Tomlinson is set to release new song ‘Just Like You’ at midnight tonight (11.10.17).
The 25-year-old singer took to Twitter on Wednesday afternoon (11.10.17) to announce the surprise track, which he can’t wait to share with fans as it really “sums him up” and is his favourite from his forthcoming debut solo LP.
In a series of tweets, Louis revealed: “So I wrote a song called Just Like You a few months ago. After a few conversations with the label I told them that I wanted to release it … My next single will be a bit later this year but I wanted to share this with you now. This is for you lot ! #JustLikeYou … The song will go live on the usual platforms at midnight local time . NZ and Aus be ready … This is one of my favourites from the album. Conceptually I think it’s sums me up ! (sic)”
Louis recently said fans can expect some real “honest” and “vulnerable” songs unlike the majority of pop music, which Louis says is oversubscribed with “fairy tale” storylines.
He said recently: “It’s for me important across my lyrics very matter of fact, very honest, vulnerable cause actually I don’t think there’s enough of that in pop. Everybody writes about these fairy tale scenarios when in reality I think life’s pretty interesting.”
And the pop star recently admitted being a solo artist is much “easier” than being in One Direction.
The ‘Just Hold On’ hitmaker love being “in control” and getting to make choices for himself.
He said: “It’s easier, it’s easier because from a writing perspective or even a marketing perspective or anything like that. We’d all have to be on the same page which takes a bit of working out before we get there.
“So it’s nice to be kind of in control of my destiny completely and there’s more pressure obviously but again it makes me feel like I can be open. ”

JP Cooper and Kojey Radical record live-to-vinyl

OHMYGOSSIP — JP Cooper has recorded a “live-to-vinyl” for a new partnership between Hennessy Cognac and Abbey Road Studios.
The ‘She’s On My Mind’ hitmaker teamed up with a collaboration with hip-hop star Kojey Radical.
The two artists headed to the famous London studios – where The Beatles and Pink Floyd recorded – to lay down the track as part of ‘Masters of Potential’, a new partnership between Abbey Road and the whisky.
A panel of music industry experts will be uniting further top artists for exciting collaborations as the partnership continues.
JP said: “We’re gonna be recording some very very live versions of songs for ‘Masters of Potential’ – and we’re gonna be recording live to vinyl, which is a first for me.
“You get some really amazing results when you mix [it] up with somebody who’s coming from a very different world, whether it’s sonically, whether it’s where your message is coming from, just artistically in general it’s an amazing thing to see [the results] when you collaborate with other people.
“The song we’re doing is about having a party for the end of a relationship … which is actually quite weird.
“For people to be able to come in here and still feel the spirit of the place [Abbey Road], I think it’s an incredible initiative.
“Hennessy and Abbey Road have got an incredible history in music. it’s a real honour to finally be asked to be a part of that.”
JP’s 10-piece band joined the pair to exclusively record the first and only live performance of the song ‘Party’ as the first instalment in the ‘Masters of Potential’ series. The double-sided vinyl will also feature a live performance of ‘She’s On My Mind’.
A video of the live-to-vinyl recording of ‘Party’ can be found here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0jzzprc86w

Liam Gallagher is a Bradley Walsh fan

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher thinks Bradley Walsh is cooler than Pete Doherty.
The former Oasis frontman gets annoyed when people like The Libertines frontman and his brother and bitter rival Noel Gallagher refuse to label themselves rock stars and instead call themselves “poets”.
Speaking to Music Week about Pete, Liam moaned: “He’s not a rock star though is he?
“I don’t know what he is, but he shied away from all that. There’s a lot of people that think ‘rock star’ is a dirty word these days. ‘Ooh, I’m not rock n’ roll, I’m a poet’.
“F**k off mate, when you joined a band when you were 17/18, you wanted to be like Keith Moon or Keith Richards.
“People like that p**s me off.
“I’ve heard our kid turn around and go, ‘oh I’m not a rock star’. Yeah, you can f***ing say that again mate. I’m proud to be one and I do exactly what it says on the f**ing tin.”
And on his admiration for the TV presenter – who recently announced his second covers album ‘When You’re Smiling’ – the ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker added: “I’m having him! He’s cool man.
“I like him. I haven’t got a problem with that because he’s not a real musician, he’s just having a little singsong. I’ve not heard it and that but I like him, I think he’s all right. He doesn’t take himself seriously, like myself.”
Liam and Pete have been at loggerheads for years, recently the ‘Can’t Stand Me Now’ hitmaker said he was stressing out because Liam has pinched his Babyshambles bass player Drew McConnell.
He said: “Stressification on the band front, Drew playing bass guitar for Liam Gallagher’s new tour.”
The pair have another mutual person in common as they both have children by 90s indie rocker Lisa Moorish.
The ‘Live Forever’ hitmaker has 20-year-old daughter Molly with the former Kill City singer and Pete has 14-year-old son Astile.
They have feuded several times over the years, one of the most notable though was At V Festival in 2005.
Liam labelled the Babyshambles star “one big c***” on stage after he didn’t turn up for his support slot with Oasis at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, South West England.
He said on stage at the event held in Chelmsford, Essex: “It’s good to see Pete Doherty turned up. One big c***.”

Liam Gallagher thinks Noel’s new song ‘stinks’

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher has taken a swipe at his brother Noel Gallagher’s new single ‘Holy Mountain’.
The former Oasis frontman took to Twitter on Tuesday (10.10.17) to air how much he dislikes the lead track from his sibling and bitter rival’s forthcoming High Flying Birds LP, ‘Who Built The Moon?’.
The 45-year-old rocker – who has barely spoken to Noel since he quit Oasis in August 2009 – started off his rant by saying he had no idea “where to start” with his feelings towards the psychedelic tune, before accusing his former bandmate of “getting away with murder” with the experimental song.
He wrote: “Holy mountain eh where do I start who built the moon where do I end as you were LG x (sic)”
One fan asked: “Can you imagine if anyone else released that?”
To which Liam replied: “Dya know what I mean that po gets away with murder (sic)”
Noel recently said that his wife Sara MacDonald – who Liam is not a fan of – loves the song, and in response Liam added to the micro-blogging site: “As long as his mrs likes it as you f***ing were onwards and upwards LG x (sic)”
The ‘Songbird’ songwriter then said that ‘Holy Mountain’, which features former Jam frontman Paul Weller on the organ, will “stink” mixed with Oasis songs on Noel’s setlist.
Responding to a Twitter user who said Noel probably thinks he’s written the next ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ by The Beatles, Liam moaned: “Yeah yeah yeah blah blah blah I can’t wait for him to play that alongside 1 of the tunes I made famous it’ll stink (sic)”
The ‘Greedy Soul’ singer’s latest jibes towards his brother come after he criticised the 50-year-old guitarist’s third solo record, comparing it to a “vegetarian trying to sell you a kebab”.
Meanwhile, Liam recently hit out at Noel for charging up to $350 for a ticket to see High Flying Birds in America.
He tweeted: “350 dollars to go and see rkid in USA what a **** when will it all stop as you were LG x (sic)”

Liam Payne: I had mixed feelings during final One Direction performances

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne had “mixed feelings” during his final performances as part of One Direction.
The 24-year-old singer stars in the chart-topping band alongside Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and previously, Zayn Malik – and as he prepares to return to the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball tour for the first time as a solo artist, Liam has been reminiscing about the band’s appearance at the event in 2015.
He recalled: “It was a bittersweet feeling, because we knew we were getting a little bit of a break.
“Obviously we knew it was the end and the confusion of not knowing when it’s gonna come back, what’s gonna happen next. So there was a lot of mixed feelings around that thing. But I think it’s all happened for the best.”
Since the band embarked on a hiatus, each member has released their own solo material.
And Liam is pleased that his bandmates have all established their own unique sound.
He told Billboard: “Everybody’s really enjoyed their success at the moment. I’m super proud of them all for doing their own thing and doing it in their own way.”
Meanwhile, Liam recently revealed that he “hated” life at times during his days with One Direction.
On one particular occasion, the dark-haired hunk broke down in tears when a family meal was disturbed by a clumsy cameraman, who pushed his mother over by accident.
Recalling his lowest ebb, the ‘Strip That Down’ hitmaker explained: “I just wanted a burger with my parents.
“I cried my eyes out. I thought, ‘I can’t do this’ and I really hated my life.”
