OHMYGOSSIP — Beyoncé approached Ed Sheeran about collaborating after she saw him on YouTube.
The pair recently topped the UK charts with a duet of Ed’s single ‘Perfect’ but musician Jools Holland revealed that Beyoncé was impressed with Ed after spotting him on a clip from ‘Jools’ Annual Hootenanny’, which she saw on YouTube.
Jools told Event magazine that Beyoncé saw Ed sing Stevie Wonder’s ‘Master Blaster’ on his 2014 show and Jools added: “I can’t believe Beyoncé has seen me on YouTube. She said to Ed, ‘I saw you on Jools.’ My head became so big I could hardly get out the door.”
Jools also revealed he is a huge fan of Ed, who is performing on the BBC ‘Hootenanny’ again this year, and said he reminds him of legendary musician Ray Charles.
He said: “I remember when he first came on the show. He had such a strength of conviction in the delivery of a song that it cut straight through. It wasn’t phoney or fake. It was like Ray Charles said years ago, ‘You can like my music, or not like my music, you can like me, or not like me. As long as you know what I am doing is telling the truth.’ I see a lot of that in Ed.”
However, he worries the 26-year-old star is too nice for the music business.
He said: “Nobody likes a nice bloke in music. want a pantomime villain or somebody who is a bit odd. Ed’s a nice fellow but I think, in a way, that makes it harder for him.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran’s ‘÷’ has enjoyed more spells at number one than any other male solo artist in the UK.
The 26-year-old singer-songwriter has had an incredible 2017 with the release of his third album, which features hits such as ‘Perfect’ and ‘Shape of You’, and now Ed has achieved another record-breaking feat with which to complete the year.
The Brit recently returned to the top of the album charts and in the process, achieved an unprecendented seventh stint at the summit of the music industry in the UK.
Ed beat the record previously set by Sam Smith following the release of his debut album ‘In The Lonely Hour’ in 2015.
In total, Ed’s third album has now spent 19 weeks at the top of the UK album chart.
Meanwhile, Ed recently revealed that although life on the road as a solo star can be lonely, he has invited some of his old schoolmates, who he sang about on the song ‘Castle on the Hill’, to join him on tour.
Ed feels especially grateful towards them as his friends are married with kids and he appreciates that, in reality, they probably don’t want to “go out in Tokyo at two o’clock in the morning”.
He explained: “I’ve had three mates on tour with me and next year I’ve got four, who are my schoolmates. They are all the ‘Castle on the Hill’ people.
“I don’t have a band and all of my team, God bless them, are married with kids so don’t want to f***ing go out in Tokyo at two o’clock in the morning.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne drinks warm milk and smokes cigarettes while recording new music in the studio.
The 24-year-old singer – who kicked off his solo career this year with ‘Strip That Down’ – has a number of unusual habits in the studio, according to his ‘Bedroom Floor’ collaborator Charlie Puth.
Charlie told Billboard: “I played it for Liam when he was in the studio. And fun fact, he has no air conditioning in the studio. He keeps it at about 80 degrees. He drinks warm milk, I think smokes a bunch of cigarettes, and sings the song perfectly. I don’t really understand how that’s possible. I mean, it works for him. I don’t know if I would be able to pull that off – I go to bed at like, 9 pm every night.”
Charlie also revealed the song was inspired by leprechauns.
He explained: “That was the most fun I had ever had, writing that record. It was with Little Aaron [Aaron Jennings], Noell [Zancanella], J Kash [Jacob Kashner] and Ammar Malik – really, really talented writers. And we were all at Conway, which is a really nice recording studio. And we were all just messing around; nothing was really coming when we were writing.
“I just pictured what a leprechaun would sing, because I think there were Lucky Charms in the room or I had had them for breakfast. Like, what would a leprechaun melody be? And Noel, who works with Ryan Tedder and OneRepublic, had this cool sound like ‘boom boom boom’ and I was thinking, ‘Oh, it could be like a dance record or something like that.’ And out of nowhere, that melody, that joke melody I had, fit perfectly on to one of the dancey chords. The song originally started [with] two parts and we flipped the two parts and then it was over, and we were like, ‘Oh it’s so great! Your clothes are talking!’ We were dancing around, such a fun songwriting session.”
Meanwhile, Liam recently admitted he can’t believe how his solo career has taken off.
The One Direction singer is amazed by how well his solo tracks have been received this year and says performing on his own at Wembley Stadium has been one of his highlights of 2017.
He wrote on Instagram: “I’ve got to perform to some amazing crowds this year, starting with 80,000 people at Wembley Stadium! With the boys you had the chance to bounce off each other, when you’re on your own it’s just you and you have to get out and just do it! (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — T-Pain has claimed he was meant to feature on Post Malone’s hit track ‘Rockstar’.
A version of the top-charting track featuring him and Joey Bada$$ leaked online this week – sparking speculation they’d done a remix – but the 32-year-old rapper – whose real name is Faheem Rashad Najm – has claimed he was always on the song but was taken of at the last minute and replaced with 21 Savage.
Taking to his Twitter account, he wrote: “That’s the original. They took me off. And put 21 on. Me and Joey had it first.”
Bada$$, 22, backed up the claims and even said he co-wrote the song with Post.
He said: “This is facts. I actually co-wrote the song w post quietly got my first #1 off that. (sic)”
Meanwhile, Malone recently admitted that he once received career advice from Bob Dylan, whom he has a tattoo of, who suggested he work harder at his lyrics.
He said: “I’m a big Bob Dylan fan. I have a nice Bob Dylan tattoo.
“He’s a genius and I heard that his grandson played my music for him and he liked the music be he said I need help with lyrics.”
Dylan also influenced him to pick up the guitar on his forthcoming project ‘Beerbongs & Bentley’, which features the chart-topping single ‘Rockstar’.
He explained: “I played a lot more guitar on this album.
“I wanted to push boundaries and change the standard of what music is, and it’s a genre-less style of music instead of hip-hop.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Clive Davis is still in shock over Whitney Houston’s death.
The 48-year-old singer drowned in a bathtub in 2012 at the age of 48, just hours before she was due to attend Clive’s pre-Grammys gala at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles and the music veteran admitted he still finds it hard to believe his protege is dead.
Speaking on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, Clive said: “Her death was just a tremendous shock. I had just been with her 48 hours before, and she was vibrant and looking forward to making a new album.”
And Clive, 85, will always consider Whitney one of the greatest singers of all time.
He said: “The three greatest singers of all time are Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand and Whitney Houston. Whitney could do anything.”
Meanwhile, unreleased Whitney Houston recordings were made public as part of a brand new soundtrack to mark the 25th anniversary of ‘The Bodyguard’ this year.
The collection called ‘Whitney Houston – I Wish You Love: More From The Bodyguard’ was released on November 17, and featured a host of unheard pieces from the late singer’s legendary career.
The collection was released exactly 25 years after the release of ‘The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album’, which the ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ singer co-executive produced with Clive.
The Grammy Award-winning album was the first record to sell more than one million copies in a single week, and has sold more than 45 million across the world to date.
It’s the top-selling soundtrack of all time – while ‘The Bodyguard’ marked the star’s movie debut – and it has gone on to become one of the best selling albums of all time.

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Timberlake has dropped hints that he is set to tour after the Super Bowl.
The 36-year-old singer will headline next year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 4 and it is believed he will release new music and embark on a tour afterwards.
Justin recently trademarked the phrase ‘Man of the Woods’ and now his official website, JustinTimberlake.com only directs to a mysterious logo with the letters MOTW.
According to documents previously obtained by TMZ, Justin has trademarked the phrase in order to use it for “CDs, DVDs, downloadable music, clothes, concert posters and live performances and tours”.
In October, Justin confirmed his performance at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota on his Twitter account via a short clip alongside talk show host Jimmy Fallon.
In the skit, Justin asks Jimmy if he has the time and he replies with the same question to which the ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ hitmaker says: “I do have the time.”
Jimmy then says: “You do half time?”
Justin replied: “I do half time.”
The pair repeated the same questions and answers a few times before an excited Jimmy asked: “You’re doing the Halftime Show at the Super Bowl?”
Justin pulled a face and looked at the camera before shouting, “I’m doing the Halftime Show”, while he and Jimmy jumped around the room.
He captioned the clip: “I DO have the time. Half the time…#PepsiHalftime #SBLII @Pepsi @NFL @JimmyFallon @FallonTonight (sic)”
Justin’s last Super Bowl performance was a controversial one in 2004 when he ripped off part of Janet Jackson’s outfit, exposing her breast for a brief moment.
In August, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo said it would be a “home run” if Justin were to perform at the Super Bowl.
He said: “Oh, I love Justin, I think he’s a great guy. I think if they got Justin, it would be a home run. I think he’s one of the rare guys that everyone thinks is great and he’s super talented.”
Super Bowl LII will take place on February 4 in Minneapolis.

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Puth never thought he would collaborate with Selena Gomez.
The 26-year-old singer and producer teamed up with the beauty for their hit single ‘We Don’t Talk Anymore’ in 2016, and has admitted that even though he asked her at party if they could work together sometime, he never believed it would actually happen.
Recalling their meeting, Charlie said: “Taylor Swift introduced us at this VMA afterparty a while back. I think I even was like, ‘We should do something sometime.’ I say that to every artist I meet, because I just can’t believe I’m in this position where people want to work with me. But I didn’t actually think it was gonna happen.”
The ‘Attention’ musician played Selena, 25, the track over FaceTime four months after they met, and he admits it wasn’t until he got the star’s approval that he decided the hit song would make an excellent duet.
He explained: “I think four months went by, and it happened – but in a very strange way. I had sent the demo of ‘We Don’t Talk Anymore’, where it was originally all me, and I played it for her over FaceTime – I was in the Philippines. She was like, ‘I love this’, and it hit me. I was like, ‘This could be a duet.’ Everybody has experience with the sentiment of the song meaning, I think. I certainly have, she has, so it just felt very real when she performed it.”
Selena rushed from Vegas to Los Angeles to record the track with Charlie, which he claims was done in a “makeshift recording booth” that he set up in his closet in the early hours of the morning.
Speaking to Billboard magazine, he said: “Selena was in Vegas. She flew herself to my house I was renting at the time in the Hollywood Hills. She came over at like 2 o’clock in the morning and recorded this part in a makeshift recording booth in the closet. It was very, very not glamorous. I had to go to London the next day – I was kind of hungover, I just came from a party. But I had to get the vocals all done. So it was quite challenging to just push through it at 5 o’clock in the morning. But when I listened to it when I woke up the next day, it was all worth it, because she sounded great.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jay-Z has dropped a teaser for his upcoming new music video for ‘Family Feud’.
The 48-year-old rapper’s teaser of his newest track – which appears on his 18th studio album ‘4:44’ – sees both his wife Beyonce and their daughter Blue Ivy feature in the 34-second clip.
In the brief video, Jay-Z is seen walking through an empty church with his daughter at his side as they make their way towards Beyonce, who is standing at the pulpit.
The ‘Empire State of Mind’ hitmaker then goes into a confessional, where his wife waits to hear what he has to say on the other side of the screen.
Then, the camera cuts to two unidentified lovers whose encounter soon turns violent.
Beyonce – who was recently announced to be voicing Nala in the live-action remake of ‘Lion King’ – also features on the single.
The release of the teaser comes shortly after Jay-Z’s latest album received eight Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year and Best Rap Album.
The rapper – who has five-year-old daughter Blue Ivy and seven-month-old twins Rumi and Sir with Beyonce – is also set to be honoured with the Salute to Industry Icons Award at the ceremony in 2018.
The ‘Empire State of Mind’ hitmaker – who has won 21 gongs from the glitzy award ceremony in the past 18 years – will join the likes of Clive Davis, David Geffen, Berry Gordy, and Antonio ‘L.A.’ Reid when he is formally awarded the honour in January.

OHMYGOSSIP — Slash misses his late pal Lemmy Kilmister a great deal.
The Guns N’ Roses guitarist posted a touching tribute to the late Motorhead frontman on the two-year anniversary (28.12.17) of his death from inoperable prostate cancer.
Alongside a picture of Lemmy holding a cigarette and leaning over a glass of whiskey, his favourite tipple, Slash wrote on Instagram: “I don’t think there’s a day goes by that I don’t miss #LemmyKilmister (sic)”
Lemmy’s bandmate Mikkey Dee says that the outpouring of love for the metal legend was “bigger” than Elvis Presley.
He said recently: “I already know that he’s being remembered in a proper way, because, you know, when he passed, it’s been bigger than Elvis [Presley].
“He would be very surprised and honoured if he knew. He might know, if he was peeking down to see what’s going on.
“I mean, if you saw what just happened at the Wacken festival, for instance, with a hundred thousand fans raising their hands while they played the new video, for [a cover of David Bowie’s] ‘Heroes’.
“That was the release of that song, kind of, and it was just incredible. They’re naming streets after Lemmy; they’re naming all kinds of parks and stages.”
Mikkey said previously they will honour Lemmy “when the time is right”, but only do it when there is a “craving” for it.
He said: “There is the possibility of doing that when the time is right.
“One day there is going to be a craving for something like this, and when there’s a craving for it we have to do it in a proper way.”
Th band want to make sure they take their time and make something really special for their legendary bandmate.
He said: “Only with the right formation and the right timing – to do it too soon would be a disaster.
“But I’m totally open to doing something and I’m going to do my damnedest to put something really, really great together.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bono thinks music has “gotten very girly”.
The 57-year-old U2 frontman – whose real name is Paul David Hewson – has had a career spanning almost 41 years with the band and although coming from a rock background, Bono believes men can now only express “anger” through hip-hop.
In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Bono said: “I think music has gotten very girly. And there are some good things about that, but hip-hop is the only place for young male anger at the moment – and that’s not good.
“When I was 16, I had a lot of anger in me. You need to find a place for it and for guitars, whether it is with a drum machine – I don’t care.
“The moment something becomes preserved, it is f**king over. You might as well put it in formaldehyde.
“In the end, what is rock & roll? Rage is at the heart of it. Some great rock & roll tends to have that, which is why the Who were such a great band. Or Pearl Jam. Eddie has that rage.”
U2 have just dropped their latest album, ‘Songs of Experience’.
But despite his years of experience, Bono still finds songwriting to be very “demanding”.
He said: “I gave myself to the singing in new ways, but there wasn’t a lot of going out and discovering the places we were playing, the cities that we were playing, which I really love to do.
“Stepping inside the songs was more of an ordeal than I thought it would be. They are very demanding in terms of their emotional – what word am I looking for … forthrightness.
“And then we were preparing for ‘Songs of Experience’. All that promotion takes a lot more work than I remember, but if you believe in the songs, you have to defend and present them.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Panic! At The Disco bassist Dallon Weekes has announced he is leaving the band.
The 36-year-old musician had been a member of the ‘Ballad of Mona Lisa’ hitmakers for eight years since joining in 2009, and whilst he admits he’s had an “incredible” time as part of the band, he will now be moving on to work on his own project, which he says is titled ‘I Don’t Know How But They Found Me’.
Dallon broke the news via social media when he shared a statement which was later shared on the band’s social media channels as well.
It read: “For the last eight years I’ve had the incredible opportunity to perform in Panic! At The Disco. While I’m sad to announce that my time with Panic! has come to an end, I’m excited to continue making music with my new project ‘I Don’t Know How But They Found Me’ @idkhow . I’m grateful for the chance I’ve had to be part of Panic! At The Disco for nearly a decade. I will always consider myself indebted to those who made me feel welcome to be a part of P!ATD. You changed my life. Thank you all. (sic)”
Dallon joined the ‘Nine In The Afternoon’ rockers in 2009, shortly after bassist Jon Walker and founding guitarist Ryan Ross left the band.
He began his time with the band as a touring member, before moving to full-time, and then back to touring only in 2015.
He also had a hand in penning most of the tracks on 2013’s ‘Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die!’ album alongside frontman Brendon Urie, though that job was not carried over to 2016’s ‘Death of a Bachelor’, where Urie decided to mainly work with outside songwriters.
At present, Brendon Urie is the only remaining full-time member of the band, although he does have a full line-up of touring musicians.

OHMYGOSSIP — Shakira has rescheduled her ‘El Dorado World Tour’ after suffering a haemorrhage in her vocal cord.
The 40-year-old singer was due start the run of dates in Germany on November 8, but was forced to pull out of the opening show on doctor’s orders, to avoid further damaging her voice.
Now the Cologne show will take place on June 5, and the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ singer’s dates in the US, which were due to kick off in January, have been pushed back to August.
The American shows commence on August 5 in Chicago, Illinois, before the Latin beauty heads to a further 18 cities.
Shakira says the unfortunate injury has made her realise that her vocals have a “purpose”, and she is extremely thankful to her fans for supporting her.
And she’s “counting down the days” till she can perform again.
In a note announcing the new dates, Shakira wrote to her fans: “I wanted to write one more letter to express my gratitude to all of you for the immeasurable love and support that you have sent me these past few weeks. You have made me feel that my voice is not only mine but also yours, and that it has a purpose.
There were times when your prayers and messages of affection and encouragement along with those of my family were the only thing buoying my spirits.
Though I very much hoped to be able to recover my vocal cords in time to pick the tour back up in January, and after exploring many options to that effect, I have accepted that this is an injury that simply needs more time and care to heal.
I feel for all of you who planned ahead to come to these shows and who have been so patient as I took the time needed to figure out the best course of action with my doctors.
Thankfully, I am so relieved and happy to share with you that I will be getting back on the road in June 2018 with my El Dorado World Tour in Europe, and the US, with Latin America dates to be announced soon.
I am very proud of this show; I feel it’s my best yet, since it has a repertoire filled with heartfelt songs and exciting moments of music and dance. I really can’t wait for June!
I promise to give you all of me and more from the minute I get on that stage and I am counting the days till showtime! (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Chaplin believes he is “too old” to reform Keane.
The 38-year-old singer is best known for his time as the frontman of the ‘Everybody’s Changing’ rockers from 1997 until their indefinite hiatus in 2013, and whilst the band have still not official split, Tom believes that now he’s become a father to three-year-old Freya – whom he has with his wife Natalie – he has too many responsibilities to consider recording with Keane again.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: “When you’ve got dogs crapping on the kitchen floor and a small child, you think, ‘I wouldn’t mind being able to sort my own diary’. It’s a pragmatic, boring reason but a compelling one at this stage of life.”
It comes after the ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ hitmaker previously admitted he and former band mate Tim Rice-Oxley have a “complicated relationship” which would need to be repaired before a reunion could be discussed.
He said: “Me and Tim have a really complicated relationship. We have great love and respect, but there are other elements in that relationship. I think in order to do something with Keane we would have to explore ways to make it a happy and positive experience again. And at the moment it doesn’t feel for me it’s the right thing to be doing.”
Tom saw his life spiral out of control in the mid-2000s due to his addictions to drink and drugs, and after picking himself back up again, he suffered a relapse two years ago.
His decision to pursue a solo career and keep Keane in the past could be down to a fear he may relapse again, as he recently admitted he wanted to put his past behind him and set a “good example” for his daughter.
He said: “Addiction is a passive-aggressive way of expressing myself. It can be a very sadomasochistic way of living life. But now I am a father, I can finally face things and it’s a chance to be a good example. I wasn’t available for Freya and I was incredibly sad about it.
“But I am on the other side of that now. I know there is a little part of me in her and I can’t always protect her from everything. But I’m an open book and am happy to talk to my family about my past problems.”

OHMYGOSSIP — George Ezra insists his single ‘Don’t Matter Now’ was “selfish”.
The 24-year-old singer wrote the track about his battle with anxiety, and though he thinks it’s “beautiful” the song has got people talking about their own problems, he wrote it to address is own feelings, rather than to make others feel better.
Asked if he thinks it’s important to write about the issues and get people talking, he said: “Not very, that wasn’t really my aim. It’s beautiful that people are now talking about it but it was more for myself, not to sound too selfish. It was a nice opportunity for me to address things I was feeling.
“I hadn’t anticipated that people would pick up and be interested but I feel its brilliant that they are.”
When he’s performing, George loves nothing more than having his fans sing his lyrics back at him.
He said: “It feels very good, I love it. It’s a lovely feeling for everyone involved in the room.
“I was at a show in Shepherd’s Bush and it felt brilliant, if you are sharing things with people it’s a nice feeling.”
Though the ‘Budapest’ hitmaker feels very grateful that his career has allowed him the opportunity to travel the world, he does get pangs to return home to his own bed so he can spend more time with his loved ones.
Asked where he’d most like to go in the world, he said: “My own bed at the moment, we have been so lucky to visit a lot of places. I would love to spend more time in South Africa. But mostly home because I don’t get to see my friends enough.”

OHMYGOSSIP — S Club 3’s comeback single was intended for the entire group to release.
Jo O’Meara, Bradley McIntosh and Tina Barrett have joined forces without the former members of S Club 7, which included Paul Cattermole, Jon Lee, Rachel Stevens and Hannah Spearitt, and the trio have revealed their latest single ‘Family’ was penned “a couple years ago” for the entire seven-piece group to sing after their 2015 reunion.
Jo explained: “We actually recorded this song a couple years ago and it was originally meant for the seven of us after we’d done the tour.
“People weren’t really ready at that particular time and then the song had just been sitting there. The fans had wanted something new for so long and they’ve been so good to us for so long and so loyal.
“I think sometimes when something has been really special and it was a reunion tour, it’s best to leave it short and sweet.”
And since releasing the single the threesome have only received support from Hannah, who wished them “all the best” with their future singing careers over social media.
Tina, 41, said: “She’s such a sweetheart, she tweeted us to wish us all the best.”
Jo thinks it is a “good thing” a few of the ‘Reach’ hitmakers are re-grouping and returning to the entertainment business because she thinks they are “mature and tolerant” and will “appreciate” their career “more” than they did when they first broke into the industry with their debut single ‘Bring It All Back’ in 1999.
Jo told The Sun Online: “We are definitely older – I think it’s quite a good thing because we are more mature and tolerant. Also, we just appreciate it more.”
Tina added: “I think it’s a good thing and it’s great that everyone loves that era so much. I actually appreciate the music so much more now than I did then.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX’s favourite moment of filming her ‘Boys’ music video was seeing Diplo get weed on by puppies.
The ‘After the Afterparty’ hitmaker got all of her male celebrity pals to feature in the fun-filled promo, including Joe Jonas, Bastille’s Dan Smith and Mark Ronson, but it was the American DJ’s scene, and getting to slap Charlie Puth in the face with a wet sponge, which stood out the most.
The 25-year-old pop beauty admitted that while she enjoyed the experience, she felt “nearly dead” by the end of the extensive project, which travelled all around the world from Los Angeles and New York to Seoul in South Korea.
Sharing some her “highlights of 2017” on Instagram, the Out of My Head’ singer posted: “k angels, over the next few days I’m gonna post about my 2017 highlights… beginning with directing the music video for “boys”. This was such a crazy headfuck experience but somehow we managed to pull it off. This shoot began in April and went all the way through to June, shooting in LA, NY, Seoul, Tokyo, London and Coachella. I was nearly dead by the end of this process but everything was so worth it. Meanwhile, Rita Ora is set to follow in the footsteps of pal Charli XCX by recruiting a star-studded cast for her new music video.
The pop babes previewed a live version of their duet called ‘Girls’ at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Hull earlier this year, and the ‘Your Song’ hitmaker has revealed her plans to get her fellow female musician friends to join forces for the girl power promo.
Rita said recently: “I have a really cool song called ‘Girls’ that has all my girls in the industry that I’m friends with, that I love.
“And they’re on the video, too.
“It’s going to be all about females.”
It comes after Charli said she’s eager to direct the video, after she enjoyed being in charge of the visuals for her song ‘Boys’.
