The Sunday Times’ Rich List: Paul McCartney named UK’s wealthiest + The Wealthiest Young Musicians In The UK list

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney has been named the wealthiest musician in the UK. The Beatles legend’s fortune has increased to a whopping £820 million, the 30th annual Sunday Times’ Rich List has revealed.

McCartney’s growing riches is due to the royalties from the iconic group’s back catalogue, whilst it’s also been boosted by his wife Nancy Shevell’s assets. The ‘Hey Jude’ hitmaker’s 58-year-old spouse is the heiress to the US truck company New England Freight, which rakes in around £330 million yearly.

In 2015, the 75-year-old musician started benefiting from a new deal which saw all 13 records by the band – which also featured Sir Ringo Star and the late John Lennon and George Harrison – made available on streaming services.

The ‘Come Together’ hitmaker recently completed a 37-date tour across the world – including stops in Brazil and Mexico – which made him a staggering £100million from ticket sales.
Sir Mick Jagger and Keith Richards remain the wealthiest member of The Rolling Stones with £260m and £245m respectively.

Ed Sheeran’s wealth has grown by £28 million, more than anyone else on the list, with the ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker raking in £80 million. The wealthiest of the One Direction lads is Harry Styles, whose self-titled debut solo LP was his record label Sony Music’s biggest global seller in the second quarter of 2017, with £50 million.

The ‘Kiwi’ singer also starred in the war thriller ‘Dunkirk’ last year.

Niall Horan made £46 million, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson both raked in £42 million. Former member Zayn – who hasn’t toured since releasing his debut LP ‘Mind of Mine’ in 2016 – was bottom, with £35 million.

Adele tops the list of the youngest wealthiest musicians in Britain with £140 million, Little Mix are worth £40 million and singer-and-actress Rita Ora made the list, with £16 million.
Robert Watts, Compiler of The Sunday Times Rich List, commented: “For years our music millionaires list has been dominated by older acts, such as the Rolling Stones and Sir Elton John, who have an older audiences able to pay a premium to see their favourite acts. But some of the biggest risers over the past year have been amongst younger acts such as Ed Sheeran, Adele and Calvin Harris.

“Streaming services, the internet and income from endorsements are helping today’s young musicians build an international following – and with it their fortunes – far quicker than the older rockers.

He added: “We think it won’t be long before some of these relative newcomers will surpass the wealth racked up by rock legends who in some cases have been on stage for nearly half a century.”

The 30th annual Sunday Times’ Rich List is as follows:
1. Sir Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell, £820m
2. Lord Lloyd-Webber £740m

Dr Dre loses trademark dispute against gynaecologist Dr. Draion M. Burch

OHMYGOSSIP — Dr. Dre has lost a copyright infringement case against a doctor. The 53-year-old rapper – whose real name is Andre Young – had taken legal action when gynaecologist Dr. Draion M. Burch used a play on words and applied to trademark his name as Dr. Drai, but the music mogul argued similarities would result in “confusion”, especially because the medic wanted to use the moniker for audiobooks and seminars.

However, the US trademark office have now dismissed the case, ruling that although the names are similar, the ‘I Need a Doctor’ hitmaker had failed to show people would be misled into buying the medic’s products rather than his own.

And as Dr. Burch commands a fee of around $5,000 for speaking engagements, customers would be likely to exercise a “higher degree of care” before booking him and parting ways with their cash.

The Pennsylvania-based doctor argued that Dre’s reputation and popularity would actually be a “bad reflection” on him because of his controversial lyrics, and insisted there would be no confusion because the music mogul has no medical background.

He said: “Dr. Dre is not a medical doctor, nor is he qualified to provide any type of medical services or sell products specifically in the medical or healthcare industry.”

Dre can currently be seen in Netflix documentary ‘The Defiant Ones’, which chronicles his success from the streets of Compton to becoming the multi-millionaire head of Beats Entertainment, while Dr. Burch describes himself as one of America’s top health experts and has written books including ’20 Things You May Not Know About A Vagina’.

Camila Cabello has shared an emotional message with fans after supporting Taylor Swift

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello has an intense gratitude towards Taylor Swift after supporting her on the first night of her ‘Reputation Tour’. The ‘Havana’ hitmaker has recalled feeling as though she would “never be able to afford” to attend a Taylor concert after feeling envious of her friend who went to one of the star’s shows and touched the singer, and she “wouldn’t have [ever] believed” she would share a stage with the 28-year-old star one day, Independent.ie mediates.

Camila – who is supporting the ‘Style’ hitmaker on her run of gigs – posted on Twitter: “what was going through my mind at this moment: I remembered when i came to school one day (I think I was in 9th grade but could be wrong) and my friend Mariana had just seen Taylor on the speak now tour and told me she touched her hand and i was like when am I ever gonna be able to afford to go to a Taylor swift concert and touch her hand during speak now, and I just had a moment of “if you would’ve told me then what was gonna happen I wouldn’t have believed it” and I had such an intense gratitude for everything I’m experiencing right now. I love you @taylorswift13 and @charli_xcx (sic)”

Camila and Charli XCX both took to the stage with Taylor as she performed her 2014 hit ‘Shake It Off’ on the first night of her tour at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Tuesday night (08.05.18).

https://www.instagram.com/p/BiiPj6SA_Zs/?utm_source=ig_embed

Taylor opened up to the crowd about going through some “really low times” as she kicked off her ‘Reputation Tour’, admitting she didn’t know if she was going to be able to tour anymore.

She told the packed audience: “A couple of years ago, someone called me a snake on social media and it caught on. And then a lot of people called me a lot of names on social media.
“I went through some really low times for a while because of it. I went through some times when I didn’t know if I was going to get to do this anymore.”

Since the trolling, Taylor used snake imagery to promote her latest record, ‘Reputation’, and there was also a nod to the serpents when two inflatable snakes appeared as she was performing ‘Shake it Off’.

Taylor encouraged her fans to feel “strengthened” if they are ever bullied, and admitted she had learned a “really important lesson” about valuing her own reputation.
She said: “I wanted to send a message to you guys that if someone uses name-calling to bully you on social media, and even if a lot of people jump on board with it, that doesn’t have to beat you. It can strengthen you instead. I think the lesson is that you shouldn’t care so much if you feel misunderstood by a lot of people who don’t know you, as long as you feel understood by the people who do know you.”

Taylor performed a number of her hits, including ‘End Game’, ‘All Too Well’ and ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ on her opening night.

Kendrick Lamar won Pulitzer Prize for rap for his fourth album ‘Damn’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kendrick Lamar has become the first rapper to ever win a Pulitzer Prize for music. The 30-year-old musician won the prestigious prize – awarded for achievements in literature, journalism and music – for his fourth album ‘Damn’.

Previous musicians to win the prize include Bob Dylan, Hank Williams and Duke Ellington, but never a hip-hop artist. The ‘HUMBLE’ rapper’s win makes him the first non-classical or jazz artist to scoop the prize.

Lamar – who combines rap with spoken word, poetry, jazz and funk – confronts a range of issues in his lyrics, including police brutality and racial stereotyping.
The rapper told Interview magazine last year: “I don’t want anybody to classify my music. I want them to say, ‘This is somebody who’s recognising his true feelings, his true emotions, ideas, thoughts, opinions, and views on the world, all on one record.’ I want people to recognise that and to take it and apply it to their own lives.
“The more and more I get out and talk to different people, I realise they appreciate that – me being unapologetic in whatever views and approach I have.”

Reese Witherspoon was among the stars who tweeted their congratulations on the win. She wrote: “Congrats to @kendricklamar for winning a #pulitzerprize for your provocative , groundbreaking work. Keep speaking truth. [sic].

Whilst Ellen DeGeneres tweeted: “@kendricklamar is the first person to win a #Pulitzer for rap. Yep. That feels about right. Incredible. [sic]”

Conchita Wurst, who was catapulted to fame after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014, has been diagnosed as HIV Positive

OHMYGOSSIP — Conchita Wurst has been diagnosed as HIV Positive. The 29-year-old drag singer – who was catapulted to fame after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 as the entrant for Austria – took to Instagram to tell the fans following on the social media site that he is living with disease.

Conchita – whose real name is Thomas Neuwirth – wrote in Austrian on the photo sharing platform: “Today the day has come to liberate me from the sword of Damocles for the rest of my life: I have been hiv-positive for many years. this is actually irrelevant to the public, but an ex-boyfriend threatened me to go public with this private information, and I will not give anyone the right to frighten me and influence my life in the future.

“Since I received the diagnosis, I have received medical treatment and for many years I’ve been under the detection limit, so am not able to pass on the virus. [sic]”
The ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’ singer had chosen not to speak out about the diagnosis in order to protect family members from public scrutiny.

Conchita added: “Secondly, it is information that I believe is mainly relevant to those people with whom sexual contact is an option. Coming out is better than being outed by a third party. I hope to build up courage and take another step against the stigmatisation of people who have become infected by hiv, either through their own behaviour or through no fault of their own. To my fans: the information about my hiv status may be new to you – my status is not! I’m well, and I’m stronger, more motivated and liberated than ever. Thank you for your support! [sic]”

Since sharing the news, Conchita has been flooded with messages of support from fans on social media.

Celine Dion is cancelling three weeks of Las Vegas shows to undergo surgery on her ear

OHMYGOSSIP — Celine Dion (49) is cancelling three weeks of Las Vegas shows to undergo surgery on her ear. The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ hitmaker has been forced to cancel all her shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas between March 27 to April 18 so she can have surgery to correct an ear problem.

Her team wrote on her Facebook account: “Céline has been dealing with a condition in her middle ear known as Patulous Eustachian tube, which causes hearing irregularities, and makes it extremely difficult to sing. She has been experiencing this condition for the past 12-18 months but it has been successfully treated with various ear drop medications. During the past couple of weeks these medications have no longer been working to treat the condition, so she will undergo a minimally invasive surgical procedure to correct the problem.”

https://www.facebook.com/celinedion/posts/10155301122981651

Whilst Celine Dion added in a statement: “My luck hasn’t been very good lately … I’ve been so looking forward to doing my shows again and this happens … I just can’t believe it! I apologize to everyone who planned to travel to Las Vegas to see my show. I know how disappointing this is, and I’m so sorry.”

Celine is expected to resume her performances from May 22. The 49-year-old singer had to cancel some shows in January as she was struck down with a fluey bug. She shared: “I had a pretty rough time during the last couple of weeks … a lot of people have been hit with cold and flu bugs… but I’m doing much better now. Wasn’t able to do all my shows, but was thrilled that Adele came to one of them … I love her so much!”

Keith Richards: It would take somebody keeling over to end Rolling Stones

OHMYGOSSIP — Keith Richards says it would take a death in the band to stop them touring. The 74-year-old guitarist insists the ‘Start Me Up’ group have never discussed the possibility of retirement, despite drummer Charlie Watts recently admitting he wouldn’t be “bothered” if they split up for good, and has reassured fans they won’t be parting ways in the “near future”.

In a candid interview with the The Telegraph newspaper, Keith was asked what it would take for the band to end, and he replied: “Somebody keeling over. There’s never ever been a word about it muttered among ourselves. I guess the day’s obviously going to come, some day. But not in the near future. We’re all looking forward to doing what we’re doing, especially back in Blighty.”

The legendary rockers – completed by Sir Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood – are set to tour the UK for the first time in five years this summer, and they also have a new album in the pipeline, the follow-up to their 2016 covers LP ‘Blue & Lonesome’. Speaking earlier this week, Charlie claimed he wouldn’t mind if they decided to call it a day, theguardian.com mediates. He said: “I love playing the drums and I love playing with Mick and Keith and Ronnie, I don’t know about the rest of it. It wouldn’t bother me if the Rolling Stones said that’s it … enough. I don’t know what I would do if I stopped. Keith is a great one for saying once you’re going, keep going. The big worry for me is being well enough. We don’t work like we used to fortunately. There are huge gaps between each show.”

However, he hopes if they ever did decide to go their separate ways that it would be an amicable decision because he’d hate it if it turned into a blazing row. He explained: “I would hate it to dissolve not amicably. I would like Mick to say, or me or Keith or whoever … I don’t want to do it any more, for whatever reason, and we just say that’s it. I wouldn’t want it to be an argument or whatever.”

Adam Lambert promises new music is coming in 2018: I have been working really hard on it! The album is gonna be yummy!

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Lambert has promised fans he’ll have new music dropping later this year. The ‘For Your Entertainment’ hitmaker has been busy performing with Queen taking on late frontman Freddie Mercury’s lead vocals, but on Wednesday (14.02.18), he exchanged tweets with some of his 2.6 million followers, letting them know he’s hard at work on his much-anticipated follow-up to 2015’s ‘The Original High’.

Replying to one fan, he wrote: “I have been working really hard on it! The album is gonna be yummy! (sic)”

The ‘American Idol’ alumni says he has penned around 35 tracks, but that none of them are single-worthy yet. He wrote: “Probably written about 35ish … Not far enough in the process to pick a single. Still lots to be done.”

And when quizzed on when to expect new tunes, he added: “There will be music out this year (sic)”

In the meantime, Adam will join Brian May and co on an extensive European and UK tour this summer. The rock legends – who were fronted by the late Freddie until his death from HIV/AIDS in 1991 – already sold out two shows at the 20,000-capacity venue in the British capital in December, Metro.co.uk mediates.

Describing the new dates as “one more around the block”, Queen’s guitar maestro May said: “The almost unanimous reaction to our last round of dates in Europe was this is absolutely the best production we’ve ever mounted. There has been a great demand for us to go back and cover the cities we missed! So, while we’re still physically able to perform at those high energy levels on this massive scale, we thought … ‘YES !! One more around the block!’ It’s live, it’s dangerous, and it takes every ounce of fitness we can muster. But it’s still fun!”
And Lambert added: “I enjoyed every second of the recent European tour and really felt the love in every city. I can’t wait for us to get back there again in the spring!”

Fans will be able to experience 300 moving lights during the show choreographed by acclaimed lighting designer Rob Sinclair, who has illuminated tours for major artists including Adele, Peter Gabriel and Kylie Minogue. The run kicks off on June 13 in Cologne, Germany at the Lanxess Arena.

Prince collaborator selling ‘Soft and Wet’ songwriting stake on eBay: Anyone who buys this probably shouldn’t be doing it for financial purposes

OHMYGOSSIP — A songwriting credit on Prince’s first solo single is for sale on eBay. The ‘Diamonds and Pearls’ hitmaker – who passed away from an accidental overdose in April 2016 – co-wrote ‘Soft and Wet’, with Chris Moon, and now his collaborator has put his stake in the song up for sale on the auction website, listing the unusual lot with a Buy It Now price of $490,000, RollingStone.com mediates.

Chris – who was credited with nurturing Prince’s career in the late 1970s – told the Star Tribune newspaper: “It’s very unusual, but it’s completely real. Nobody has ever done anything like this before that I know of, so I understand why some people don’t believe it.”

While the buyer wouldn’t be recognised as Prince’s co-songwriter on the track, which appeared on his 1978 album ‘For You’ and peaked at number 92 in the Hot 100 chart, the new owner of the rights would receive songwriting royalties, revenues from streams and album purchases as well as any future earnings the song generates. But as the song isn’t particularly well known, Moon – who also owns the ‘Purple Rain’ singer’s demos which secured his record contract with Warner Bros., and the full rights to an unreleased song called ‘Make It Through The Storm’ – admitted the buyer is very unlikely to make a profit from buying the credit.

He said: “Anyone who buys this probably shouldn’t be doing it for financial purposes. It’s more about owning one of the most unique collectibles ever related to Prince.” ‘Soft and Wet’, which is one of the few Prince songs to have a co-writing credit, was sampled by MC Hammer for a track on his 1990 album ‘Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt ‘Em’ and it is that which has generated the most money for the song.

Chris wrote on his eBay listing: “Around 1990, MC Hammer came out with one of the top albums of the year. When it came out he sold 10,000,000 copies of that album which meant I sold 10,000,000 copies of Soft & Wet. To date that MC Hammer album has now sold over 22 Million copies worldwide … and each time that album sells so does a copy of SOFT & WET.(sic)”

Jay-Z paid a touching tribute to Trayvon Martin at the sixth annual Peace Walk and Talk in Miami on Saturday

OHMYGOSSIP — Jay-Z paid a touching tribute to Trayvon Martin at the sixth annual Peace Walk and Talk in Miami on Saturday (10.02.18). The ’99 Problems’ hitmaker spoke about the legacy of the late 17 year old – who was shot and killed by neighbour George Zimmerman in 2013 – and said he would be a “beacon of light” alongside the likes of Martin Luther King and Ghandi, The Fader mediates.

He told the crowd gathered at the Betty T. Ferguson Amphitheatre: “Trayvon serves as a beacon of light to all the people out here so you guys would never have to go through the pain and the hurt these guys went through. His name will sit alongside some of the greats whom lost their life to push our culture forward. The Martin Luther Kings, the Ghandis, that’s the intention that we set, that his name serves as a beacon of light and hope and push us in a better direction.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lroegGX2HE

Trayvon’s death sparked outrage and debates on gun laws and racial profiling after Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges over the teenager’s death because of Florida’s controversial Stand Your Ground law, which meant he could protect himself from what he perceived to be a threat. And Trayvon’s loved ones were pleased to have Jay – whose real name is Shawn Carter – turn out to offer support at the rally.

Brenda Martin Providence, a friend of his mother, Sybrina Fulton, told Complex: “It means a lot to the community when you see people like Jay Z who come out to support your cause. With everything going on, we all need to support the cause because our youth are dying in the streets. A lot of mothers are missing their children. For me, personally, my son will be 40 in a couple of days, and I have two grandsons. We all need to come out and show our support and walk for the community.”
The 48-year-old rapper previously announced plans to team up with the Weinstein company for a movie and docuseries about the murdered teenager, but because of the Harvey Weinstein sexual misconduct scandal, it is unclear what will happen to the project now.

James Bay previews new album Wild Love: It’s a departure from what I’ve done

OHMYGOSSIP — James Bay’s new album Wild Love is a “departure” from his usual music. The ‘Let It Go’ hitmaker is gearing up to release his new LP and says it is drastically different from his previous music.

He said: “It’s a departure from what I’ve done. If I’m not moving forward I’m standing still and standing still is pretty boring. The first album for me was everything from Ryan Adams to Bruce Springsteen and Kings Of Leon, but I loved Prince and Michael Jackson and LCD Soundsystem but it wasn’t as relevant to that music. So coming out of touring ‘Chaos And The Calm’, one of the most exciting things for me was being able to really dive head first into those influences and more. I know I’m late to this party but Frank Ocean’s ‘Channel Orange’ is an incredible album, that did loads for me.”

And the 27-year-old singer has dramatically changed his look too. He added to NME magazine: “When you make a certain sound and look your thing, it makes it all the more impactful to drop that and start with a new thing. So I cut my hair off and lost the hat. It felt only natural to me to tear that canvas down and put a new one up. That’s where so many of my favourite artists, from Bowie to Michael Jackson, they were chameleons and liked to reinvent themselves.”

Brent Faiyaz on the success of Sonder Son and his love for Lauryn Hill

OHMYGOSSIP — Brent Faiyaz’s ‘Sonder Son’ was inspired by Lauryn Hill. The 22-year-old singer’s debut solo LP was a smash hit last year and Brent admitted Lauryn’s ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ has had a huge influence on his career.

He told Billboard: “She’s one of my favourite artists. The whole plane ride over to DR, I was listening to ‘Miseducation’. That was it. I was like, ‘F**k that, I gotta make some shit that’s not out right now.’ Everybody’s making the same shit, I gotta do something different.”

Brent has gone on to find huge success in his career, after switching from rap to singing. He explained: “I was doing both, on my Lauryn Hill s**t, I guess. There’s so many rappers out. I remember sending music around, sending emails all day everyday for damn near two years. Nobody was really giving me the response I wanted. The thing is, because it’s so many rappers, if I’m not referred by somebody, I don’t even wanna listen. Versus singing, somebody can press play, and like three seconds in you might be somebody’s favorite singer off of one song. You don’t gotta hear a whole catalog. It was a no brainer.”

However, he hasn’t completely given up on succeeding as a rapper too. He said: “I still got bars, I just use ’em differently. I’d say I’m a better singer than I am a rapper at this point because I’ve been sharpening my sword. If I really hopped back into rapping, I’d f**k [everyone] up.”

MGMT made new album via email because Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden have had a notoriously difficult relationship in the past

OHMYGOSSIP — MGMT made their new album via email. Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden have had a notoriously difficult relationship in the past and although they say that they are now in a better place, they prefer to work over email as Ben lives in Los Angeles and Andrew is based in New York.

Speaking to The Guardian about their new record ‘Little Dark Age’, Patrick Wimberly, who co-produced the record, explained: “They’re not attached to each other because of contracts or obligations. They’ve tapped into a connection that encourages them both to dig deep into their own ideas. At times it seems like they have their own language.”
However, both Ben and Andrew are happy with their relationship at the moment.

Andrew said: “We’ve gone through different phases of hanging out and being, like, normal friends, and that’s not easy these days because Ben lives in LA. He’s got a dog with a backyard, and I’m in Rockaway and so we’re not like staying together and walking through parking lots like we were at college. We’ve gone through times where we had disagreements or it’s been tense. But we rode it out and it seems good now.”

And the new record has been inspired by recent events in America. Andrew said: “There’s a lot of stuff on the record relating to the last year. What Trump has done is just expose a whole lot of things that were there already. Like: is America bad? In ‘When You Die’, when we’re saying “I’m not that nice”, it’s owning up to existing in a modern United States of America: you’re kind of part of this evil whether you want to be or not.”

Chris Brown wants to do a world tour with Beyonce, Rihanna and Bruno Mars

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Brown wants to do a world tour with Beyonce, Rihanna and Bruno Mars. The 28-year-old singer took to Twitter to reveal his wish to join forces with the three superstars – including former girlfriend Rihanna, who he was convicted of physically assaulting in 2009 – for a world tour.

He tweeted: “Just thinking…. A CRAZY WORLD TOUR would BEYONCE, RIHANNA, BRUNO MARS, CHRIS BROWN. “2 for 2″. And if y’all decide to do it without me… give me 10 per cent (sic).”

Chris pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault and served probation for the crime against Rihanna, following a pre-Grammys party. Speaking previously about the assault, which he claims happened during a fight between them, Chris said: “I really hit her. With a closed fist, like I punched her, and it busted her lip, and when I saw it I was in shock, I was “f**k, why did I hit her like that?”

“So from there she’s…spitting blood in my face, it raised me even more. It’s a real fight in the car, and we driving in the street.”

Rihanna has previously said she found it hard to move on from her first love. She said: “I lost my best friend – like everything I knew switched in a night, and I couldn’t control that.
“So, I had to deal with that and that’s not easy for me to understand, interpret and it’s not easy to interpret on camera, not with the world watching.”

Liam Gallagher has accused the organisers of the BRITs of being too scared to let him to perform at the ceremony

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher has accused the organisers of the BRITs of being “too scared” to let him to perform at the ceremony. The 45-year-old rock star has revealed he’s been offered the opportunity to host the annual bash in London later this month, but his real ambition is to perform for his fans.

Liam wrote on Twitter: “So the Brit awards have ballooned it again as you were LG x

All I wanted to do was play LIVE but there too scared too cosy the cheeky ***** asked me if I wanted to host it are they having a laugh LG x (sic)”

Liam has been nominated for the Best Male Solo Artist gong at this year’s bash, where he will go up against Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Loyle Carner and Rag N’ Bone Man for the coveted crown.

However, the controversial singer has not been afforded the opportunity to perform at the event, with that honour instead being handed to the likes of Foo Fighters, Rita Ora, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Sam Smith, Stormzy, Rag N’ Bone Man and Jorja Smith.

Liam made an impressive return to the music scene in 2017, when he released his comeback album ‘As You Were’. The record – which features the hits ‘Wall of Glass’ and ‘For What It’s Worth’ – was recently certified platinum in the UK, and Liam feels that his return has helped to inject some energy into the music scene.

He previously said to ES Magazine: “No one’s cranking it up and having a bit of aggro. They’re all going to the same parties, they’re all f***ing hanging out, they’re all drinking from the same cup, they’re all eating at the same f***ing restaurants, and, dare I say it, they all look the same, and dress the same. Someone needs to counteract that. And I’m here to do that.”

The family of Manic Street Preachers star Richey Edwards claim to have “vital new evidence” in his disappearance

OHMYGOSSIP — The family of Manic Street Preachers star Richey Edwards claim to have “vital new evidence” in his disappearance. The musician disappeared from the Embassy Hotel in central London in February 1995, aged 27, and he was officially presumed dead in 2008 – but Edwards’ sister Rachel Elias has revealed that new evidence has now come to light.

Edwards’ car was found near the Severn Bridge shortly after his disappearance, and Elias has explained the significance of the new evidence. She said: “We were told that Richard crossed the bridge at 2:55pm. And we have the toll booth receipt that says 2:55. So we were led to believe there was an eight-hour window between his time of departing the hotel to crossing the Bridge on that same day. But it’s since come to light by tracking down the person who made the [bridge’s time recording] machines and making enquiries that that was a 24-hour clock, it always was.
