Kimberley Walsh predicts Girls Aloud reunion in ‘a couple of years’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kimberley Walsh thinks a Girls Aloud reunion could happen “in a couple of years”.
The 37-year-old star doesn’t think the ‘Biology’ hitmakers will be getting back together anytime soon, but won’t rule out the possibility, particularly because she still regularly sees bandmates Cheryl and Nicola Roberts.
She said: “A reunion isn’t on the cards anytime soon.
“It doesn’t seem like the right time really.
“For anyone else, a reunion and seeing us together might be like, ‘Yay!’ – but Cheryl, Nicola and I are really close and we’re together all the time anyway.
“But who knows in a couple of years? We’ll see.”
But Kimberley insisted there is no rift with remaining members Nadine Coyle and Sarah Harding as they were never as close to them.
She told Closer magazine: “Cheryl, Nicola and I were always really close in the group.
“Nadine and Sarah always had their own things going on with their own friends and family and us three were just really connected and had a genuine friendship that I don’t think will ever go.
“Whereas, for the others, it was more like ‘work friendships’.”
Kimberley recently admitted she doesn’t think there is as much demand for a Girls Aloud reunion as there was for the Spice Girls’ comeback.
She said: “There is no Girls Aloud reunion on the cards right now. “The Spice Girls had a phenomenal career but it was very short, over four or five years.
“We literally lived and breathed each other so I think more time needs to have passed for anybody to get those feelings of getting us back together.
“There is less urge and desire to bring it back because we did it all.”

Kelsea Ballerini admits to ‘writing like crazy’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelsea Ballerini has been writing “like crazy” as she’s been making her new album.
The 26-year-old country star has admitted to changing her creative process whilst making her upcoming album, which is markedly different in tone to ‘Unapologetically’.
Asked what stage she’s reached in making her upcoming album, Kelsea shared: “We have 10 songs done, hundreds written, and we’re trying to figure what other colours and textures we need.
“There’s a song with horns, a song with a string quartet, two collaborations that are polar opposites, musically. I’m just having fun.”
The singer’s previous album touches on a painful break-up, as well as her marriage to Morgan Evans.
However, her new album won’t have an identifiable “concept”.
Speaking to the BBC, Kelsea explained: “This time, I took the pressure off having a concept and just let myself write. And I wrote like crazy. I wrote more country than I’ve ever written and more pop than I’ve ever written. We put the saddest song out first.”
Meanwhile, Kelsea also revealed the inspiration behind her new track ‘Homecoming Queen?’.
She said: “I was touring really heavily and on [social media] I was only really showing the really cool moments of my life – on stage or on a red carpet, all that kind of stuff.
“What I wasn’t showing was that I was feeling really painfully insecure. So I wrote this song to say it’s OK to feel what you feel, and it’s also OK to share it, because we’re all human. You’re allowed to have a bad day, you know?”

Beyonce, Adele and Chris Martin record song for OneRepublic’s album?

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce, Adele and Chris Martin have recorded a song for OneRepublic’s new album, according to Ryan Tedder.
The band’s frontman – who has co-written tracks for both Adele and Beyonce – dropped a major teaser for their upcoming LP ‘Human’ by claiming that the two global superstars and Coldplay frontman feature on the collaboration, which sees the latter play piano.
Ryan told New York radio station Z100: “The bottom line is, we do have an album’s worth of material, and that’s the good news.
“So we’ve been dropping song after song. [Recent single] ‘Rescue Me’ was kind of the first … getting the wheels turning again, and we have a lot more songs to come. We have one song featuring Beyoncé and Adele, with a Chris Martin piano solo in the bridge.”
The songwriter and producer co-wrote Beyoncé’s singles ‘Halo’, ‘XO’ and ‘I Was Here’, and worked with Adele on her tracks ‘Remedy’, ‘Rumour Has It’ and ‘Turning Tables’.
However, since a video of the interview was shared on social media, some users have suggested that the ‘Stop and Stare’ hitmaker may have been joking about the all-star collaboration.
Adele is said to be preparing for her comeback with an upbeat track about her divorce.
The 31-year-old singer/songwriter and her husband Simon Konecki recently filed for divorce after splitting up earlier this year, and the ‘Chasing Pavements’ singer is ready to move on by releasing a new song about their split.
A source said recently: “The song is upbeat and is all about Adele’s relationship with her ex-husband Simon.
“But it’s optimistic, reflective of the good times and about learning to move on from them and make new memories by yourself.
“It has been cathartic for her to put her feelings into her music. Fans can expect to hear personal details on her album.
“All being well, the song should be out in November but she is still working on everything.”
Adele and Simon – who have six-year-old son Angelo together – had been together for seven years and married for three.
And it was recently revealed that after filing for divorce, Adele is getting ready “both mentally and physically” to release her fourth album.
A source previously explained: “Adele feels free and is moving on with her life. It looks like the divorce will be straightforward at this stage. They both wants what is best for their son. She is definitely getting ready both mentally and physically to promote new music. It seems it will happen later this year. She talks about last year as a very difficult year and she’s said in the past that creating new music is almost like therapy. You can tell that she is ready to share with her fans.”
Whilst Beyonce recently released her ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ album inspired by the remake of the Disney classic.
Coldplay haven’t released new music since 2015 LP ‘A Head Full of Dreams’, but Chris featured on the track ‘Heaven’ from Avicii’s posthumous album ‘Tim’ this year.

Lewis Capaldi spends his fortune on food

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi spends all his money on food.
The ‘Someone You Loved’ hitmaker has become a breakout global superstar since he released his hit single earlier this year, but he claims he still lives with his parents in Scotland because he doesn’t earn as much as people think – while he splashes what he does have on grub.
He told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “There’s always room to earn more. I still live with my parents so I don’t think I am earning that much money!
“And all I spend my money on is food because I can’t help stuffing my face. I am splurging on food and it shows, it’s showing on my gut, my gut is expanding every day.”
Lewis admitted when he does get to enjoy some of his wealth, he has one purchase in mind.
He added: “I’d like to buy a nice watch one day but that’s if I don’t spend all my money on food…
“What do people with money buy? Exotic animals? Mike Tyson had a tiger, Justin Bieber had that monkey, Michael Jackson had a monkey too but none of these guys had big fat snakes.”
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old singer delighted fans last week when he dropped new EP ‘Bruises’, which he has now said was a treat to his fans as a way of thanking them after the huge success of his debut album ‘Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent’.
He explained: “I just wanted to put out one more bit of music before the end of the year just to thank everybody for the best year of my life.”
Meanwhile, Lewis insisted it’s important for him to keep writing otherwise it can “kind of dry up the muscle” and revealed he’s already coming up with ideas for a second album – but he’s not writing songs for commercial gain.
He added: “I think what’s important for me, is just writing tunes that I like. Whether or not they f***ing bomb commercially doesn’t matter because I enjoyed writing them.”

Kanye West borrows from ‘religious texts’ for lyrics on Jesus Is King

OHMYGOSSIP — Kanye West borrows from “religious texts” for the lyrics on his long-awaited album ‘Jesus Is King’.
The 42-year-old rapper has been hosting a Sunday Service, which features a gospel choir and other musical performances, since January, and his much-delayed ninth studio album continues to document his Christian beliefs and also sees him address the state of the world and society’s obsessions with social media.
According to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, the track ‘Water’ sees Kanye – who has children North, six, Saint, three, Chicago, 20 months, and Psalm, four months, with reality star Kim Kardashian West – claim that humans are made up of 90 per cent water, 30 per cent less than scientists believe.
Whilst on ‘Closed On Sunday’, he asks people to “put the ‘gram away”, despite his wife using the app as an income.
On ‘LA Monster’, the hip-hop superstar hits out at Los Angeles – where he lives a life of luxury with his family – for “lettin’ Satan run they streets (sic)”
He raps: “It’s the ugliest nightmare born from the prettiest dreams; millions of people trying to get on the scene; and everyone selling their souls, everyone saying they woke, but they sleepwalking, dead, eyes closed.”
Elsewhere, ‘Hands On’ appears to be Kanye asking for another chance after he previously controversially suggested slavery was a “choice” before apologising last May.
He belts out: “Thirteenth amendment, three strikes/ Made a left, when I should’ve made a right.”
According to the tabloid, Nicki Minaj has been dropped from the song ‘New Body’, with only Ty Dolla $ign appearing on the track.
Kanye was set to release his new album on Friday (27.09.19), but his wife Kim then revealed that her husband was still working on the final mixes for the project and will release it after listening sessions, which took place in Detroit and Chicago at the weekend.
She wrote in an Instagram story: “Kanye is doing a listening session in Chicago tomorrow, then NYC Sunday. He’s dropping the album Sunday. Just a few final tweaks to the mixes.”
He is also planning to release an IMAX film in October called ‘Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Experience’, which he recently previewed a “small clip of”.
Kim added: “I can’t wait for you guys to see this @imax film in October.”
Kanye last dropped an album in June 2018 when he released eighth record ‘Ye’.
Just three months later, he revealed his next album would be called ‘Yandhi’ but the release was then postponed indefinitely.
Kim previously admitted she thinks the ‘Jesus Walks’ hitmaker has been “saved” by his Christian beliefs.
She said: “It started off as something that was really healing for him and it was really small and personal, and it grew and grew, and he really has been saved by Christ and it’s like [he’s] born again, and dedicates his whole life to the church.
“It’s a musical ministry. If pastor friends are in town, they’ll come and say a few words. It’s travelling to other churches. It’s just become this amazing thing.”

Tinashe is ‘back and better’ after going through some ‘changes’ creatively

OHMYGOSSIP — Tinashe is “back and better” after taking more than a year away to work on new music.
The ‘All My Friends’ singer left RCA Records in February, following the much-delayed release of her second studio album ‘Joyride’, and after taking some time to herself she has been through “a lot of changes” and now feels “inspired and free” to make the music she wants to make.
In an video updating her fans posted on Instagram over the weekend, the 26-year-old star said: “I know that I have been quiet for a minute, I’ve been in my cave, I’ve been working … but I am so inspired lately and feeling so free throughout the last year and a little bit more.
“I’ve been going through a lot of changes.
“Creatively, I just feel like I needed to go through what I went through in order to be the person that I am today and to get back to my roots.
“It’s so f***ing crazy. You pretty much put your heart and soul and emotions into all these songs and then you put them out there for the world to judge and tear down and pick apart. It’s terrifying and it can really mess with your head.
“You know, f*** the system. F*** anyone who tries to put you in a box and tries to limit you and tries to tell you that you can’t be this and that, that you have to be this or that.
“Music and art are supposed to be these wonderful beautiful things that bring people joy and happiness, and that’s really why I started making music in the first place – to give people something that means something to them.
So thank you for allowing me to do that.
“I love you, bye.”
Tinashe captioned the post: “I’m back and I’m better.”
The ‘Slumber Party’ hitmaker didn’t say when fans can expect her hear the new music she has been hard at work on.
The R&B pop star’s songs have been criticised in the past for being too much of one style, and she previously called for people to stop pigeonholing artists because no one should feel boxed into a corner creatively.
She said: “I think genres should just die.
“As a human being, you don’t limit yourself to being one thing or other; I don’t think people think of themselves in that way.
“It’s the same for how I present my music, how I listen to music, how I dress, how I live my life. It’s not black and white. Who you are is actually much more complex.”

Ginger Baker’s ‘holding his own’ after hospital admission in ‘critical’ condition

OHMYGOSSIP — Ginger Baker is “holding his own” after being admitted to hospital in a “critical” condition.
The family of the 80-year-old Cream drummer – who underwent open-heart surgery in 2016 – revealed last week that the legendary musician was seriously unwell with an unknown illness, and now they have taken to Twitter to update fans on his progress.
They wrote: “UPDATE! Ginger is holding his own & thank you for all your good wishes. He is receiving visits from close family & very special friends. (sic)”
The original tweet about Ginger’s admission to hospital read: “The Baker family are sad to announce that Ginger is critically ill in hospital. Please keep him in your prayers tonight.”
Three years ago, the sticksman’s daughter Leda – whose mother is Liz Finch – revealed he had an operation to improve his health and was on the “road to recovery”.
She said at the time: “Ginger is on the road to recovery. After open heart surgery and a bad fall he is miraculously recovering well.
“He called the day after his surgery to say he was OK, albeit it was a rather disorientated and unintelligible conversation but he was at least awake and aware.
“The fall has resulted in swollen legs and feet which he is seeing a doctor about in the next day or so.”
However, Leda – who has an older sister Ginette and younger brother Kofi – admitted she didn’t think her dad will be in a position to perform live again with his band Air Force 3 or anyone else for some time, if ever again.
She added: “Although he is recovering any performance in the near future seems over ambitious.”
Ahead of his operation, Ginger opened up on what his options were and his hopes to play drums again on stage.
He said: “There are two options for surgery. Depending on how strong my old lungs are, they may do both. The doctor says he’s going to get me playing again.”
Ginger founded legendary rock band Cream in 1966 with late bass player Jack Bruce and guitarist Eric Clapton and their rock/blues sound resulted in songs such as ‘Sunshine of Your Love’, ‘I Feel Free’ and ‘Crossroads’.
The British band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.

Dave Grohl ‘cried a little’ hearing Weezer cover Nirvana’s Lithium

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Grohl “cried a little” when Weezer covered Nirvana’s ‘Lithium’.
The Foo Fighters frontman was emotional after Rivers Cuomo and co performed a rendition of his former band’s 1991 hit at Brazil’s Rock in Rio on Saturday (28.09.19) before their own set.
Introducing the track, Rivers told the crowd: “We’re gonna cover a song from Dave Grohl’s old band to tide you over until the main course in a few minutes.”
Dave and his bandmates then returned the compliment, by doing a rendition of Weezer’s 1996 track ‘Big Me’, and he admitted he really misses playing ‘Lithium’.
He said: “Tonight I’m gonna dedicate this one to Weezer.
“I was backstage and I heard Weezer play the ‘Lithium’ song. I gotta be honest, I cried a little bit. I did!
“I miss playing that song. I miss it, so I’m happy to hear Weezer play it again. So this one goes out to the sweet Weezer.”
Hearing and playing Nirvana songs is particularly emotional for Dave after frontman Kurt Cobain’s death from suicide, aged just 27, in April, 1994.
Last year, the ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ drummer performed ‘In Bloom’ for the second only time since Kurt’s passing.
He took to the stage with Trombone Shorty at Voodoo Threauxdown Festival in Los Angeles for a rendition of the track from the grunge band’s seminal 1991 LP ‘Nevermind’.
The last time he played the song was when the band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
The likes of Lorde, Joan Jett, Kim Gordon and St. Vincent joined forces for the special performance.
Speaking previously on why he struggles playing Nirvana songs live since his late bandmate’s passing, Dave explained: “For years I couldn’t even listen to any music, let alone a Nirvana song.
“When Kurt died, every time the radio came on, it broke my heart.
“I don’t put Nirvana records on, no. Although they are always on somewhere. I get in the car, they’re on. I go into a shop, they’re on. For me, it’s so personal.
“I remember everything about those records; I remember the shorts I was wearing when we recorded them or that it snowed that day. Still, I go back and find new meanings to Kurt’s lyrics.”

Liam Payne’s solo album won’t come out until 2020

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne won’t release his solo album until next year.
The former One Direction singer finished work on the record “a while ago” but admitted fans will still have to wait some time before they can hear the finished LP, but he hopes they will be as pleased with it as he is.
He said: “The album was actually finished a while ago but I’d say probably next year, more likely.
“I feel like it’s now exactly how I’d want my first album to sound.
“It’s very hip-hop and R&B-orientated, with lots of artists that I like – an Usher and Justin Timberlake reference throughout.”
The 26-year-old star – who has two-year-old son Bear with former partner Cheryl – is delighted with his solo success so far.
Asked if his solo career has exceeded his expectations, he told OK! magazine: “Massively, in every single way. I’m so happy about it, it’s the wildest thing ever.”
Liam’s latest single, ‘Stack It Up’, was co-written by Ed Sheeran and he and the ‘Castle on the Hill’ hitmaker had a “long conversation” about the subject matter because he doesn’t want listeners to misunderstand his message.
He said: “Ed Sheeran and I had a really long conversation about the fact the song was very money-orientated.
“It’s my message and I’m putting it out there, but I have to be very careful about the way people perceive it.
“I’ve been very lucky to earn money and have a really nice lifestyle but if you don’t have anyone to share it with it’s pretty pointless.
“There’s definitely been times in my life where I’ve been very much on my own with loads of great stuff and it’s like, ‘Well this is s**t.’ ”

The star was keen to start a new chapter with ‘Si’ channel his youth, which led to collaborations with Josh Groban and even his own son Matteo.
He previously said: “I wanted to go back to my memories of being a young man, playing at a piano bar. Obviously since then, I’ve produced lots of albums, sung lots of covers, performed many other things.
“But at a certain point I said to myself: ‘Maybe the time has come to put my effort into finding new songs.’
“Like starting all over again, as it were, in my career.”

Sam Fender has his former bar manager to thank for launching his career

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Fender has his former bar manager to thank for launching his music career.
The ‘Play God’ hitmaker had spent years auditioning for acting roles and he worked in a bar to save up money to go up to London each time he got a call to tryout for a role.
But after having no luck and running out of money, he decided to give music a go.
One day his manager at the pub told him to go and sit in the corner of the room and play guitar and he ended up playing to Ben Howard’s manager, who picked up on his talent instantly.
Sam told the BBC: “I’d been slogging away for years, I started playing guitar when I was a kid but I’ve been in bands and stuff since I was 14.
“My manager discovered us when I was 18 in a pub where I was working.
“I’d completely failed my A-Levels so I was in a pub pulling pints, and my manager manages Ben Howard, who at the time had won a BRIT Award, and he walked in to celebrate because he’s from my hometown.
“My bar manager at the time – who looked like Winston Churchill and used to call me ‘stupid boy’ – went to me, ‘Stupid boy, get your guitar out and go sit in the corner and go and play.’
“And I was like, ‘Why man?’ But it’s because he knew that this guy was a music manager and it all happened there for me.”
Sam won the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award in February, has supported his idol Bob Dylan at Hyde Park and scored a number one album with debut ‘Hypersonic Missiles’.
He added: “Since then it’s been non-stop gigging and touring and in the last six months it’s just really exploded.
“It’s a bit of a baptism of fire, there’s lots of amazing things and there’s lots of crazy people on Twitter and you get all sorts but I’m kind of dealing with it well I think.”

She wrote in an Instagram story: “Kanye is doing a listening session in Chicago tomorrow, then NYC Sunday. He’s dropping the album Sunday. Just a few final tweaks to the mixes.”
And Kanye is also planning to release an IMAX film in October called ‘Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Experience’, which he recently previewed a “small clip of”.

Liam Gallagher admits Blur are his guilty pleasure

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher admits Blur are his “guilty pleasure”.
The former Oasis frontman might have been major rivals with Damon Albarn and co back in 90s and blasted his brother Noel Gallagher for collaborating with their frontman, but these days he’s a fan of their repertoire.
When asked during Vogue’s ’73 Questions’ series what his guilty pleasure is, the 47-year-old rocker replied: “Blur.”
The ‘Shockwave’ singer also admitted that they were the “most overrated” band, whilst Oasis were “underrated”.
Despite their rivalry, Blur bassist Alex James recently insisted they now have a lot of respect for each other.
He explained when asked if he bumps into Liam or Noel: “Yeah occasionally, I think both bands sort of really earned each other’s respect in the end. I certainly respect them.”
Liam even took to Twitter in 2015 to hail Blur’s songs ‘Lonesome Street’ from their LP ‘The Magic Whip’ “song of the year”.
He wrote: “Lonesome St by BLUR song of the year LG x. (sic)”
Despite being a fan of their music, Liam hit out at Damon calling him a “gobshi*e” for turning his brother Noel Gallagher into a “massive girl”.
The pair collaborated on Gorillaz song ‘We Got The Power’ in 2017, and Liam told his Twitter followers just what he thought of the former Britpop enemies working together.
The ‘Supersonic’ hitmaker called Noel the “creepy one from Oasis” and said there would be “war” when he next sees Damon.
In a series of tweets responding to their song, he wrote: “Now that d*ck out of blur and the creepy 1 out of oasis need to hang there heads in same as it’s no dancing in the streets as you were LG x … he’s the creepiest soul in the world watch out he’s behind you .. That gobsh*ite out of blur might have turned noel Gallagher into a massive girl but believe you me nxt time i see him there’s gonna be war (sic)”
It took Liam just two days after Damon and Noel said they were both expecting the outspoken star to come up with a “fantastic one-liner” about the song from the LP ‘Humanz’ to respond.
Damon revealed he’d always “promised” Noel a feature on the record and he thinks it is “cute” that they are singing about “love”, which could be why Liam referred to Noel as a “massive girl”.
Damon said: “In a sort of lighthearted way, I’d promised Noel he could be on this record. He was always like, ‘I want to be on the next Gorillaz record’, and I was like, ‘Sure.’ I thought it might be cute, the idea of us singing about the power to love each other. Of course, no one’s asked Liam what he thinks about the song yet. No doubt he’d have a fantastic one-liner about what a bunch of f***ing knob heads we are.”
However, Noel said he doesn’t care what Liam thinks of their collaboration.
He said: “Listen, nobody gives a f**k what Liam thinks about anything.”

Celine Dion announces UK leg of Courage World Tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Celine Dion has announced the UK leg of her ‘Courage World Tour’.
The 51-year-old Canadian superstar will kick off the run in support of her first English-speaking album in six years, ‘Courage’, at Manchester Arena on September 4, 2020.
Celine will then play two consecutive nights at Arena Birmingham starting on September 8, before heading to Glasgow for two shows at The SSE Hydro on September 11 and September 12.
The ‘Think Twice’ hitmaker will wrap up the UK leg at London’s The O2 arena on September 17 and September 18.
The tour is Celine’s first on British soil since her ‘Celine Dion Live’ shows in 2017.
The ‘Because You Loved Me’ singer played her first-ever show in London’s Hyde Park in July, when she headlined the British Summer Time Festival.
Celine kicked off the ‘Courage World Tour’ in Quebec City on September 18.
Meanwhile, the ‘I’m Alive’ singer recently joked she would have a “breakdown” if she looked at her tour dates.
The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ hitmaker – who has son René-Charles, 18, and eight-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy with her late husband René Angélil- confessed her concerts “would not happen” if she acknowledged how long it would take to complete the run of shows as she fears she’d miss her children too much.
She said: “When I go on a tour you cannot look at all the dates because you’ll have a breakdown and the tour will not happen. My heart won’t go on. ”
The ‘Power Of Love’ singer added that her upcoming album, released on November 15, will be “very fun” and “very different” to her other work and feels she’s “opened her wings” on the new record.
She said: “The album sounds very fun, very different and I did try new things. It’s still me but I have opened my wings to embrace new writers and producers.
“Just to be open to different sounds. I’m not doing like an AC/DC heavy metal, but there’s different flavours.”
Tickets for the UK dates will go on sale to the public on October 4 at 10am.
