OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Calvi has been announced as the recipient of Q Magazine’s 2019 Fender Play Award.
The ‘Peaky Blinders’ composer – who received her third Mercury Prize nomination this year for her third album ‘Hunter’ – has been selected by guitar makers Fender and the music publication for the special honour to recognise her outstanding guitar playing and will collect her prize at the Q Awards in association with Absolute Radio at Camden’s Roundhouse in London on October 16.
Neil Whitcher, Head of Artist Relations (EMEA) at Fender, commented: “It is an honour to dedicate the Fender Play Award to Anna Calvi this year.
“As an artist at the top of their game Anna’s playing prowess knows no bounds, continually exploring and pushing the sonic boundaries of the guitar.
“It has been an incredible year for Anna filled with powerful performances including a breathtaking headline show for Fender at The Great Escape to support her most recent album ‘Hunter’.”
This month’s ceremony – which will be hosted for the first time by a female artist, with Nadine Shah taking over from comedian Mo Gilligan – sees Billie Eilish and The 1975 lead the nominations with four nods each.
The 17-year-old singer and the ‘Love It If We Made It’ hitmakers have both secured a total of four nominations out of seven categories.
Billie is up for Q Best Track, Q Best Solo Act, Q Best Album, and Q Best Act In The World Today, and she will compete against her nomination rivals The 1975 in the Best Track, Best Album, and Best Act In The World Today categories.
The quartet – comprised of Matty Healy, Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald, and George Daniel – are also nominated for Q Best Live Performance.
Following closely behind with three nominations each are Stormzy – who is up for Best Track, Best Solo Act, and Best Act In The World Today – and Lewis Capaldi, who is in with a chance of winning Q Whilst Little Simz, slowthai, AJ Tracey, Liam Gallagher, Lana Del Rey and Dave all received two nods each.
The awards ceremony will be preceded by an exclusive and already sold-out pre-awards concert at the same venue on October 15, where Biffy Clyro – who are nominated for Best Act In The World Today – are set to headline.
US rockers Jimmy Eat World were recently added to the line-up for the show.

OHMYGOSSIP — Miley Cyrus has returned to the studio to record more music.
The 26-year-old singer admitted she feels “so f***ing inspired” at the moment, sparking speculation she is penning some break-up tunes following her split from Kaitlynn Carter, after a whirlwind six-week romance, and recent break-up with Liam Hemsworth after seven months of marriage.
Miley took to her Instagram Stories to share a picture of herself back in what appeared to be a recording studio and wrote: “Back in the yo! I am so f***ing inspired right now.
“Thank YOU. NEW MOON (sic)”
In May, ‘The Climb’ hitmaker released EP ‘She Is Coming’, which was due to be the first of three six-song EPs which would make up her seventh studio album ‘She is Miley Cyrus’.
Teasing the first part of the project at the time, she wrote on Instagram: “SHE IS COMING 5/ 31 Pre Save now! Or live with regret for the rest of your existence (sic)”
But last month, it was claimed Miley had stepped back from the second and third releases for now to work on different tracks following her marriage break-up.
A source said: “Miley has been back in the studio recording new music because the other songs she had made are so far removed from who she is right now.
“A lot has changed in the past few months and it would be strange for her to release the EPs as they were.
“Now she’s deciding whether to update the collections with new songs or to start something else.”
Miley dropped her sixth studio album, ‘Younger Now’, in 2016.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Scherzinger is too “busy” for a Pussycat Dolls reunion.
The ‘Poison’ hitmaker insisted she “cannot confirm” recent speculation that she’s agreed a multi-million dollar deal with former bandmates Ashley Roberts, Carmit Bachar, Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta and Kimberly Wyatt to embark on a huge world tour because she’s currently focused on other things.
She told E! News: “I’ve heard about those rumours as well. I cannot confirm those rumours.
“I love my girls, I miss touring with them, we had the best times together. But I can’t confirm anything right now.
“Because I’m so busy, I’m doing three different shows on three different continents.”
And that’s not all because the ‘Masked Singer’, ‘Australia’s Got Talent’ and ‘X Factor Celebrity’ judge is also working on new solo material in the recording studio.
She quipped: “[I’m] making sure I have creative Nicole time.”
However, the 41-year-old star admitted she “wouldn’t rule” out a reunion altogether and believes the ‘Buttons’ hitmakers are like a “fine wine” and get better with time.
According to the recent report, the group – who split in 2009 – would be heading out on the road in 2020.
A source said: “Nicole has long turned down offers for a reunion but with the 10-year anniversary of their hiatus passing, she finally said she was ready.
“Nicole was made a multi-million pound offer to re-join the group and was given a huge advance which made it impossible for her to turn down.
“The tour is going to be huge and the group will be playing their greatest hits. But there has been talk of the possibility of them recording new music.
“It’s in the early stages but now they’re going to be back together, a couple of them, including Nicole, have said they’d be open to working on some new sounds together.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher insists Morrissey’s controversial political opinions wouldn’t stop him collaborating with him.
The 52-year-old ex-Oasis star has made no secret of the fact he wants to write a song with the 60-year-old former Smiths frontman, and he says he doesn’t care what he’s been saying because all that matters is that he’s “got a great voice”.
The ‘Black Star Dancing’ hitmaker would also love to write a song with his close friend Bono, too.
Asked if he’d like to pen a track with the U2 singer, Noel said: “Eh, I’d like to. ​’Cause his lyrics are great.”
He then added: “I’d like to write a song with Morrissey.”
Defending his desire to work with the fellow Mancunian, Noel added to The Face magazine: “When I say I want to write a song with Morrissey, I’m talking about the guy who was in The Smiths.
“I’m not talking about whatever he’s up to now with his stance on politics.
“Because his voice is embedded in my youth, in my bedroom. I would love to write a song with.
“Because he’s got a great voice.”
The ‘Wonderwall’ hitmaker is also keen to get in the studio with another musician from his hometown, Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder.
He said previously: “If I could write a song for Morrissey that would be great because he was a big part of my teenage years.
“I’d like to write a song with Shaun Ryder as well, that would be great fun. I would work with anyone and everyone.”
Noel’s High Flying Birds’ latest single ‘A Dream Is All You Need To Get By’ is inspired by The Smiths.
The track taken from the ‘This Is The Place’ EP is intended to sound like one of the many “iconic B-sides” by his idols, but Noel admitted it would never be “as good” as Morrissey and co.
He said: “To my ears it sounds like one of those iconic B-sides by The Smiths, only obviously not as good.
“A song that was born very quickly which is always a good sign … like it’s always existed … somewhere … Manchester probably.”
Noel previously revealed the track ‘Riverman’ from his second solo LP ‘Chasing Yesterday’ was inspired by Morrissey playing him ‘Pinball’ by Brian Protheroe on a drunken night out with the ‘How Soon Is Now’ hitmaker and comedian Russell Brand in Los Angeles.

OHMYGOSSIP — Mike Skinner appears to have shared a preview of a new song by The Streets.
The ‘Fit But You Know It’ hitmaker took to Instagram on Thursday (02.10.19) to share a black and white picture of the remains of a property in Birmingham, and upon clicking the play button on the visual, a drum and bass track plays.
Sharing some of the lyrics in the caption, Mike wrote: “melodies of love, all selling the dream, everyone in the club is smelling their keys. men are weird at the close of the PM, just ask a pretty girl to show you her DM’s (sic)”
The image is stamped with The Streets and a title, ‘Take Me As I Am’, which he also tagged the location as.
Back in July, The Streets teamed up with Flohio on ‘How Long’s It Been’, but the ‘Dry Your Eyes’ hitmakers’ last studio album was 2011’s ‘Computers and Blues’.
The British rap group went on hiatus after touring that record – their fifth studio LP – but reunited last year for ‘The Darker The Shadow The Brighter The Light Tour’ and ahead of those shows they unveiled fresh song ‘Boys Will Be Boys’ in the March.
Mike previously revealed he’s working on two albums.
The 40-year-old frontman said fans can expect a “duets album” from and the soundtrack for a film about a DJ, which Mike worked on last year, which won’t be released until 2020.
He said: “One of the reasons that I started it again is because I’ve written a film, which is about a DJ.
“And the album that I’ve written is kind of a musical; it’s part of the film.
“While that’s happening, I’m doing a mixtape, which is a collaborations album – and that will be out hopefully at the end of the summer.
“That’s kind of like a Streets duet album.”
Skinner’s film is inspired by US teen TV series ‘Dawson’s Creek’ – which began in 1998 and starred Katie Holmes and James Van Der Beek – and is a “farce” which centres around boys and girls getting into trouble in a club.
Speaking previously about his project, he said: “It’s a farce about guys and girls getting into trouble in a club. The story isn’t clever, it’s all in the dialogue, and that’s what I love. What was that teen show where everyone’s a philosopher? ‘Dawson’s Creek’ – it’s a bit like that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Bieber is releasing a new song titled ‘10,000 Hours’ with country duo Dan + Shay on Friday (04.10.19).
The ‘Sorry’ hitmaker has suggested that the new collaboration was part of his “wedding music” at his and wife Hailey Bieber’s second wedding ceremony earlier this week.
Sharing a teaser 26-second clip of the cinematic track, he wrote on Twitter: “New music. Wedding music. @DanAndShay and this guy. FRIDAY (sic)”
Dan + Shay – comprised of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney – also shared a mint green background with a red cross in the middle with the release date on their social media accounts and posted a pre-save link for the song, which Billboard has described as “mid-tempo”.
The ‘Love Yourself’ singer and his 22-year-old model spouse – who originally wed in September 2018 – tied the knot in front of around 150 guests including famous friends such as Ed, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Travis Scott, Usher and Jaden Smith in the Somerset Chapel and family including both sets of parents and the bride’s uncle Alec Baldwin within the grounds of the Montage Palmetto Bluff hotel in South Carolina on Monday (30.09.19) evening.
According to reports, the ceremony was conducted by Justin’s pastor Judah Smith, while Hailey’s sister Alaia Baldwin and cousin Ireland Baldwin were her bridesmaids.
A source said the “guests [were] cheering” after the pair exchanged their vows.
Meanwhile, Justin teased earlier this year that his new album is “coming soon”.
Breaking his hiatus to perform with Ariana Grande at Coachella in May, he spilled: “So anyways this is my first time on stage in two years. I had to get my groove back, my swag back. By the way, album coming soon.”
Justin – whose last studio album was 2015’s ‘Purpose’ – has appeared on a number of hit songs this year, including ‘I Don’t Care’ with Ed Sheeran and a remix of Billie Eilish’s ‘Bad Guy’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Petras wants to be “taken seriously as an artist” not as a “transgender artist”.
The 27-year-old pop star – who underwent a gender transition when she was 16 – writes songs that are “relatable to anybody” and she doesn’t want her career to be centred on her gender identity.
She said: “I don’t ever want that to be in my songs much.
“I feel like my songs are good because they’re relatable to anybody. I feel like that is a big part of the equality that I want: for people to realise that everybody’s just equal and the same and have the same issues and go through the same things emotionally.
“I just want to be taken seriously as an artist — not as a transgender artist.
“I don’t want my career to be about my gender identity.
“I’ve written too many songs and worked too hard for that.”
However, that doesn’t mean that the ‘Heart to Break’ singer won’t stop being a voice for her community.
She added to PEOPLE: “I love being a voice for transgender rights and fighting for what I think is right and making the world a better place.
“Maybe the next generations will have it easier than me.
“I care so much, but at the same time I don’t want it to become about [my gender], because I’m really proud of my music.
“I work really hard on my music. It has nothing to do with me being transgender.”
Kim recently applauded Taylor Swift for flying the flag for the LGBTQ+ community in her music video for ‘You Need To Calm Down’.
The 29-year-old singer featured a number of stars from the community – including singer Hayley Kiyoko, YouTuber Hannah Hart, Olympic figure skater Adam Ripper, and ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ star Todrick Hall – in her promo for the song on her LP ‘Lover’, and said her decision to do so came as she wanted to be more vocal about her support for the community.
Kim said she was “thankful” to the pop superstar for being “brave” enough to use her huge platform to speak out to the large percentage of her fans who are straight.
She said: “Taylor Swift’s fan base is so mainstream and so middle America, where it’s not as progressive as some other parts.
“It’s great that she is spreading that message to her fans who maybe don’t have gay friends.
“I am thankful to her for doing that as part of the LGBTQ community.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Stormzy has joined the lineup for the KISS Haunted House Party.
The ‘Crown’ rapper – who headlined Glastonbury in June – will play the annual spook fest at London’s The SSE Arena, Wembley on October 25.
The grime superstar will be joined by Liam Payne – who played last year – ‘Friends’ hitmaker Anne-Marie, house DJ Jax Jones, rapper Aitch and Majestic, who will play a DJ Set.
‘Temperature’ hitmaker Sean Paul and rap duo Young T & Bugsey were previously confirmed.
Sean said: “I always love doing shows in London and I heard that KISS Haunted House Party is always a great vibe, so I’m looking forward to smashing it! “Wembley better be ready!
“I’ve got all the KISSTORY anthems and of course my new tune ‘When It Comes To You’.”
Liam, Rita Ora, Clean Bandit, Stefflon Don and Jess Glynne were among those to play the concert last October.
Rita was the talking point of the concert, which sees stars pull all the stops out with their creepy costumes, as she transformed into rapper Post Malone.
The ‘Anywhere’ hitmaker shocked her fans when she dressed up as the ‘Wow’ hitmaker but she later claimed her transformation didn’t require much effort.
Shown a picture of herself as Post, she said: “That’s literally me with no make-up, all that happened was they drew some face tattoos and I put a wig on and had no make-up touch ups, so that’s scarily what I look like in real life.”
Despite her dramatic transformation, the 28-year-old singer was stunned when the audience didn’t recognise her.
She said: “I literally did a concert and they didn’t clap because they were like ‘Who is this weird human being on stage?’
“I had to talk in the mic and still they didn’t believe me and then I had to sing and they were like ‘OK, we believe her.’ ”
More acts for this year’s gig will be announced in the coming weeks.

OHMYGOSSIP — Guy Garvey has warned Elbow’s new album is “very bleak”.
The ‘One Day Like This’ hitmaker insists he and his bandmates – bassist Pete Turner, keyboardist/producer Craig Potter, guitarist Mark Potter – are “proud” of ‘Giants Of All Sizes’ but it’s not very “uplifting” because the 45-year-old singer “can’t find any joy” in the world.
He said: “It’s certainly not an uplifting album. It’s very bleak.
“We wanted to make a record that reflected how we felt and was made in the times that it was made.
“I can’t find any joy in these times. Elbow are making work we are proud of despite what is going on.
“Everyone is f***ed so it’s a dark record. And we are a band not known for that. We are known for the opposite, but I don’t want to listen to happy music when I am sad. You want something to connect to.
“‘Giants Of All Sizes’ is a record of the times.”
Guy admitted a lot of the lyrics on the record are “personal and political” because of his strong views about the state of the UK amid such uncertainty surrounding Brexit, as well as being shaped by other tragedies.
He told The Sun newspaper: “That’s the backdrop of the record. Personally, I’m really not looking forward to not being a part of Europe.
“There’s this horrible division down the country with everybody thinking they are right…
“It’s definitely wearing it all on its sleeve. Some of the lyrics were so personal and political, there was some debate as to whether we should go there. But I can’t help these feelings.
“I’d just moved to London when Manchester Arena was bombed, then Grenfell happened so close afterwards…
“[With Grenfell] people were dying because they were poor.
“The slow erosion of civil liberties has led to health and safety checks not being carried out and poor people not being looked after and burning to death on account of people cutting corners.
“And no one will go to jail for that. Then the Manchester Arena bomb was such a hideous, evil thing, done by a son of Manchester.
“How are we that disconnected? How the f**k does one of your kids get that lost and indoctrinated by this evil s**t and kill children?”

OHMYGOSSIP — KISS have announced a concert for sharks.
Gene Simmons and co have teamed up with Airbnb to offer eight lucky fans the chance to experience the ‘Shark Rock City’ show, which will be broadcast underwater for the sea giants.
The online property marketplace has claimed that sharks respond to the “low-frequency sounds of rock and roll” and so on November 18, in Port Lincoln in South Australia, they will play live on a boat for the Great White Sharks.
Fans will be able to buy tickets for the special event on October 14 via airbnb.com/kiss.
The ‘Crazy Crazy Nights’ hitmakers have teamed up with Airbnb for their new Animal Experiences programme, which the company states is, “a new way to meet animals with experts who care for their welfare.”
The sales from tickets will go to a welfare charity.
Those who get tickets will have to be brave enough to be submerged into the Indian Ocean to watch the performance.
Announcing the show on Twitter, the band wrote: You drive us WILD we’ll drive you crazy This November, we’re rockin’ the boat for a one-time-only concert event for great white sharks (turns out, they’re big fans too!) Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that KISS will headline Download Festival for the last time in 2020.
The ‘Rock and Roll All Nite’ group, who embarked on their final ‘End of the Road World Tour’ in January, will rock Donington Park’s main stage one last time on June 12.
Frontman Gene said: “I’ve said it before, Download Festival audiences are the best.
“They are up for whatever is thrown at them.
“KISS is going to come fully prepared to rock their world in 2020 to say Thank You for always showing up for us.”
Guitarist and co-vocalist Paul Stanley promised to bid farewell in spectacular style to thank their UK fans for supporting them for more than four decades.
He added: “Download will be the culmination of 47 years of unapologetic bombast and spectacle.
“We will make this a fitting farewell to a country and its people whose music remains the blood in our veins.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Blossoms have announced their new album ‘Foolish Loving Spaces’.
The Stockport band have unveiled their follow-up to 2018’s ‘Cool Like You’, which is inspired by the music of U2, Talking Heads and Primal Scream, and is a “celebration of love” in all forms.
The band said: “The album is a pure celebration of love in all of its splendid and baffling guises, toying with the so-called sins of lust and forbidden infatuation.”
Sharing which albums influenced the record, they added: “It’s inspired by a summer spent listening to ‘Stop Making Sense’, ‘The Joshua Tree’ and ‘Screamadelica’.”
Frontman Tom Ogden recently teased that their third studio effort is “bandy with a few more guitars” and built around their live show.
He said: “We have just finished recording and hopefully it will be out over the next few months.
“It doesn’t sound like the other two.
“The second one was synth heavy and this one is more real again.
“You know ‘bandy’ with a few more guitars, a bit of piano sprinkled over it and there’s a lot of live precision.”
The ‘Charlemagne’ rockers – completed by Charlie Salt, Josh Dewhurst, Joe Donovan and Myles Kellock – released the single ‘Your Girlfriend’ in June and its B-side ‘Torn Up’, and the band have continued working with The Coral’s James Skelly and Rich Turvey.
Blossoms will hit the road next spring, kicking off their UK run in Norwich on March 7 and wrapping at Manchester Arena on March 28.
Tom recently said their dream is to play “bigger” shows and he admitted that if they ever fell out as friends, they wouldn’t want to continue as a band.
He said: “As long as we get on we will still keep going.
“Radio seems to be picking up for us and we like playing live and want shows to get bigger.”
‘Foolish Loving Spaces’ is released on January 31, 2020.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dallas Green and Pink have discussed another You + Me album.
The City and Colour and Alexisonfire star formed a folk duo with the ‘Just Give Me A Reason’ hitmaker in 2014, when they released their debut album ‘rose ave.’ – which peaked at number 10 in the Official UK Chart – and he the singer/songwriter has revealed there could be new music from the pair in the future.
On their family-like bond and how she put him at ease in the studio and on stage, Dallas told OfficialCharts.com: “Working with her was just the greatest time of my life.
“When we met, we immediately realised we were brother and sister. “Working with her makes me feel like I’m not making a record.
“She takes away all of the pressure I put on myself.
“Like when I’m up on stage with her… she was here in Toronto a few weeks ago and I got to sing with her, it doesn’t feel like I’m singing.
“I look at her and I’m singing for her and she’s singing to me and it’s life a safety net.
“It’s a weird feeling I don’t know how to describe fully – it’s like I don’t have to worry.”
He then spilled: “But we have been talking about making another one. Hopefully.”
Meanwhile, Dallas Green released new City and Colour album ‘ A Pill For Loneliness’ today (04.10.19) and he explained that music is his therapy but he also hopes fans can take something away from his lyrics, too.
He said: “I use music first and foremost to get out of my own head and as my own personal therapy session.
“I want to do it in a way that someone can take what they need from it.
“I remember these moments when I was younger when you hear a song and the person is singing what is on your mind. You feel less alone.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce and Jay-Z are reportedly collaborating on a new song and “steamy” music video for her new project.
The 38-year-old R&B superstar recently starred as Nala in Disney’s remake of ‘The Lion King’ and released a record inspired by the movie, ‘The Lion King: The Gift’, and she is not resting on her laurels as she and her husband have a new duet in the works.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “It’s one of her most extravagant and expensive shoots.
“It was mostly filmed in LA and has a highly choreographed routine and also a steamy, romantic scene.
“She is working with some new creatives and is ready to change things up.”
The high-profile duo teamed on the 2018 album ‘Everything Is Love’, billed as The Carters, and they also toured the record on the ‘On The Run II Tour’.
The pair are known for their big budget promos and for the album’s track ‘Ape S**t’, which was directed by Ricky Saiz, they filmed in the Louvre museum in Paris.
Both artists used the album to call out those they are unhappy with.
Jay – who was the most nominated artist at the 2018 Grammy Awards but did not win any – rapped on ‘Ape S**t’: “Tell the Grammys fuck that 0 for 8 s**t”.
And he confirmed that he turned down the Super Bowl Halftime Show, saying: “I said no to the Super Bowl / You need me, I don’t need you/ Every night we in the end zone / Tell the NFL we need stadiums too.”
Whilst Beyonce hit out at Tidal rival Spotify on the track ‘Nice’, rapping: “If I gave…two f***s about streaming numbers woulda put Lemonade up on Spotify. F**k you.”
With ‘Nice’ not appearing on Spotify.
The couple’s daughter Blue Ivy, now seven, also made a cameo on ‘Boss’ and ‘Salud’ in which she gives a shout out to her baby siblings Rumi and Sir, who turned two in June.

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Walker has slammed Noel and Liam Gallagher as “pathetic” for not reuniting at the One Love Manchester concert.
The ‘Leave A Light On’ hitmaker is a massive fan of the siblings’ former band Oasis – who split up in 2009 after a backstage bust-up between the pair – but he’s called on the feuding brothers to put their never-ending war of words behind them, whilst hitting out at them for not being able to put their differences aside to play the benefit gig to honour the victims of the Manchester terror attack at an Ariana Grande concert in May 2017.
Tom told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I’m a big fan of Oasis but they just need to sort their stuff out.
“It’s like, ‘stop arguing’, it’s pathetic at this point. It’s so annoying. When they didn’t get together for the Manchester gig I was so, so upset at them.
“They are the voice of Manchester.
“There’s nobody that could bring the people of Manchester back together more than those two.
“The fact that they couldn’t put their petty arguments aside for one day and sort it out really upset me. I’m kind of done with them.”
Oasis hit ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, which was written by Noel, became an anthem of defiance in the wake of the suicide bombing outside the Manchester Arena, which took the lives of 22 concert-goers and injured many more, and it had been hoped he would make an appearance at the event.
Although Noel did not perform because he was out of the UK, he did give his blessing for his friend Chris Martin and Ariana to sing ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ and he arranged for all royalties made from the 1996 track to go to the fundraising appeal for the victims.
The ‘Wonderwall’ songwriter later headlined the ‘We Are Manchester’ benefit concert which re-opened the repaired Manchester Arena in September 2017.
Liam played solo at One Love Manchester, joining Coldplay’s Chris for a rendition of Oasis’ ‘Live Forever.

OHMYGOSSIP — Bjorn Ulvaeus says ABBA will never play Glastonbury.
The ‘Dancing Queen’ hitmakers surprised fans last April, when they announced they had been in the studio for the first time since in 37 years and were set to release new tracks ‘I Still Have Faith In You’ and ‘Don’t Shut Me Down’ – their first new music since 1982.
Bjorn has promised fans can expect to hear “at least one” of them next year and also discussed whether they would perform at the world famous music festival.
Asked if he and his bandmates – Agnetha Faltskog, Benny Andersson and Frida Lyngstad – would consider Glastonbury, he insisted: “Uh, no. It’s a straight no.”
The 74-year-old ‘Super Trouper’ hitmaker admitted that it would take too much to get the band on stage because “one show would be the same as doing a whole year” of touring.
Speaking to Nicki Chapman, who was stepping for Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2’s ‘The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show’ on Friday (04.10.19), Bjorn said: “We recorded some new songs and you will probably hear them next year, at least one of them.
“But that is quite a different thing from going through the hassle of rehearsing.
“Just one show would be the same as doing a whole year of tours.
“But that is not what we need.
“If you take 10 years out of our lives.”
The Swedish superstars – who shot to fame after winning ‘The Eurovision Song Contest’ in 1974 – will however be giving fans the chance to see their biggest hits and new songs performed on their upcoming digital tour by computer-generated ‘Abbatars’.
The ‘Waterloo’ group went their separate ways in 1982 at the height of their career, and during their final years Bjorn, 74, divorced bandmate Agnetha, 69, whilst Benny, 72, and Frida, 73, split up, too.
And Bjorn recently admitted that their reunion is proof of “two former married couples getting along very well”.
However, he insisted that he still believes they would have disbanded whether they were still in couples or not.
He said: “We could never have just gone on with ABBA having one hit every five years or so. No! It was never in the cards.”
Bjorn has also cast doubt on the band releasing a full album of new material unless there is a “really good reason”.
He said previously: “It’s good to have a reason to do what you do and this avatar tour is a reason to come up with something.
“Doing another album is like doing ‘Mamma Mia 3’, what is the point unless there is a good reason, good script, good environment? It is such a joyful experience, so that is a reason to do it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Fender loves telling the people who bullied him at school to “f**k off” now they want to be his friend because of his music success.
The ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ hitmaker is often asked to perform at the weddings of his former classmates, despite them not liking him when they were at school together, and he takes great pleasure in suggesting he’d rather play at their funerals instead.
Asked which superhero he identifies with, he said: “I’d probably say Spider-Man because Spider-Man was a dork in school, got pushed around by a bunch of d**kheads and then he became cool as f**k.
“Spider-Man then went around braying bad guys, but my version of the story is now all of the kids that were d**ks to us in school ask us to play their wedding and I just tell them to ‘f**k off’ and it’s the greatest day ever when I do. I go, ‘Absolutely not, I hate your guts, I’d rather play your funeral.’ ”
The 23-year-old singer’s “prize possession” is his Greggs VIP card and he constantly uses the perk, which grants him free food from the British bakery chain.
He siaD: “I use it every day. Whenever we go to service stations, I buy all the boys pasties. I love it … I went in and pretty much cleared out the shop once, I got about 40 pasties. The VIP Greggs card is the best thing I’ve ever had. I’d cry if I lost it, it’s my prize possession. All the time, everyone is like, ‘Take us to Greggs, give us your Greggs card.’ I can’t keep fleecing the same store so I’ve gotta alternate between different Greggs.
“I can’t just keep f***ing up the same North Shields Greggs, people would be sick of us if I keep going in there. But also it’s getting to the point now where if I go into the local Greggs and people see us, they’re like, ‘Howay Sam, get us a pasty?’ Ah, f**k off.”
