OHMYGOSSIP — Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood says there are no plans in place for them to make new music or tour at the moment.
The ‘Creep’ hitmakers – completed by Thom Yorke, Colin Greenwood, Ed O’Brien and Philip Selway – released previously unheard music recorded during the making of their seminal album ‘OK Computer’ on ‘MiniDiscs [Hacked]’ in June, after hackers gained access to the material and demanded a ransom.
But the band’s 47-year-old multi-instrumentalist says they are all too busy with their own projects at present to start working on new material, but as soon as they are all “free”, they’ll plan new music and a tour.
Asked about their plans in an interview with The Guardian newspaper, Jonny admitted: “I don’t know what we’re doing.
“We don’t tour until we’ve got new music and new music doesn’t happen until we get together and that doesn’t happen until everyone’s free.”
Jonny has kept himself busy launching his own classical musical label, Octatonic, scoring movies and even curated a Late Night Prom featuring his solo violin and strings.
The musician, who is primarily the band’s guitarist, says the classical work has made him more daring with Radiohead’s material.
Jonny says their 2016 track ‘Burn the Witch’ from the Mercury Prize-nominated LP ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’ – their last studio effort – ended with strings because he had the guts to leave it that way.
He said: “I’m less fearful of getting strings in now.
“With ‘Burn the Witch’, I finally had the gall to say, let’s leave this completely unfinished and let the strings finish it.
“In the past, I wouldn’t have had the brass neck.”
Meanwhile, Radiohead’s frontman Thom has also been scoring soundtracks.
The 51-year-old frontman – who released his first feature film soundtrack, ‘Suspiria’, for the horror movie in October 2018 – penned ‘Daily Battles’, which featured horns by his Atoms of Peace bandmate Flea, for the upcoming crime drama ‘Motherless Brooklyn’, which stars the likes of Bruce Willis, Alec Baldwin, and Willem Dafoe, and is helmed by Edward Norton.

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles has released a new song, ‘Lights Up’.
The former One Direction hunk has shared his first new music in almost two years with the lead single from his as-yet untitled second solo album.
Harry has shared the video to the song, in which he is largely shirtless and grinds and dances with other scantily-clad people, with the whole group soaking wet.
Other shots in the video include the singer alone in a house and on the back of a motorcycle.
The track was produced by its co-writers, Tyler Johnson and Kid Harpoon.
Earlier this week, fans spotted billboards around the world which they suspected were connected with Harry’s new music.
The huge posters, which were seen in London, Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles and Australia, bore the words ‘Do You Know Who You Are’, with the only clue they were promoting the 25-year-old star being his signature motto, TPWK – Treat People With Kindness – also spotted on the bottom.
And the question, “Do you know who you are?”, forms part of the chorus on ‘Lights Up’.
The ‘Carolina’ singer recently revealed he was “nervous” playing his new album for his friend Stevie Nicks.
He said: “It’s a double-edged thing. You’re always nervous when you are playing people music for the first time.
“You’ve heard it so much by this point, you forget that people haven’t heard it before. It’s hard to not feel like you’ve done what you’ve set out to do.
“You are happy with something and then someone who you respect so much and look up to is, like: ‘I really like this.’ ”
Stevie has described the highly anticipated follow up LP as “spectacular”, and she claimed it is a world away from the music he made with One Direction – and indeed from the material on his first standalone effort.
She said: “It’s not like his last album. It’s not like anything One Direction ever did. It’s pure Harry, as Harry would say. He’s made a very different record and it’s spectacular.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi suffers from “imposter syndrome”.
The ‘Someone You Loved’ hitmaker admits he sometimes questions why he is the one selling out arenas because he’s “no better” than other artists.
He said: “I’ve got no clue. ‘What right do I have to be playing arenas?’ is what goes through my head. Imposter syndrome. I’m not better than any of these people, I’m not better at writing songs or singing.”
And the 23-year-old singer – who hails from Glasgow – has been singing since he was 11 but didn’t “fall” into his voice until he was 18.
Speaking to The Guardian newspaper, he added: “I could always sing loud because I was playing pubs when I was 11, and you’ve got to sing loud there. But I saw Joe Cocker on some Beatles documentary, and I was floored. I tried to sing like that, and I was f***ing terrible, as you would expect from someone going through puberty trying to give it the raspy voice. But then I finally fell into it at around 18. I don’t know if I’ve done some irreparable damage to my voice trying to get here. I never had any lessons, but obviously now I’ve had coaching to keep it going. I get really bad acid reflux, so I’ve got to watch myself on tour: no spicy foods, as little alcohol as possible. See Mick Jagger, Elton John, all these ***** on tour in the 70s, going around doing everything, taking all these drugs, sounding great. I take one drink of Red Bull and I’m choked.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Westlife says Ed Sheeran helped them reunite.
The band – which comprises of Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne – are back with a new album and they have quipped that the pop superstar, who penned a number of tracks for their album ‘Spectrum’, was the “only” man who “could get Westlife out of bed”.
Nicky said: “When the opportunity came up last year to reunite … who gets a second bite at the cherry, you know? We never knew if the tour would just be a nostalgia one-off – you know, you say hello to the fans, and then goodbye. We thought, ‘We’d love to give it more than that, and try to make a new album’, and that’s when Ed Sheeran, to be fair, stepped up. I think if there’s probably only one man that could get Westlife out of bed, it was Ed Sheeran. He was writing these songs. He said to Steve at the time – Steve Mac – he said, ‘I remember growing up listening to ‘Flying without Wings’, and learning how to play guitar and stuff like that to ‘Flying without Wings.'”
And Kian feels like Westlife has a “whole new lease of life” now.
He added to Smooth Radio: “I think since the reunion, it kind of feels like Westlife is taking a whole new lease of life – from the tour that we’ve just finished, to now announcing that we’re going to play Wembley Stadium for the first time in our careers. It’s 20 years of being a band, and then, you know, releasing what we feel is the strongest album we’ve ever made. We just kind of feel like we’re living the dream for the second time around – if not better and bigger this time around. It’s just been kind of an incredible year for us, and hopefully the next year will be just as incredible, and this place will be sold out on August 22, and we’ll have the biggest part of our lives.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Boardmasters is to return in 2020 after this year’s event was cancelled.
The music festival was scheduled to be on from August 7th to the 11th with Florence + the Machine, Foals, and Wu-Tang Clan headlining, but had to be called off due to the inclement weather conditions expected to hit Cornwall, south west England, that weekend.
But the spectacle will return next year after the Boardmasters Twitter account confirmed the dates as August 5th to 9th 2020.
Those who were due to attend this year’s event will be able to apply for tickets before they go on general sale.
This year’s event – which was also due to see the likes of Razorlight, Dizzee Rascal, Jorja Smith, The Wombats, Rudimental and Plan B play – was axed just days before it was due to get underway.
Festival organisers said in a statement at the time: “Due to forecasted severe weather conditions, specifically high winds, Boardmasters 2019 has been cancelled.
“Following full consultation with all of the relevant authorities including independent safety advisors, Devon and Cornwall Police, emergency services and the Met Office, a final decision was made this evening.
“The safety of you, the fans and attendees, as well as performers and crew comes first, and the potential risk is too severe for the event to go ahead at this time.
“Refund advice will be shared as soon as possible – please follow Boardmasters’ social media for official updates.
“We sincerely regret the disappointment to fans, and apologise for any disruption caused to local businesses, performers and crew who were looking forward to Boardmasters as much as we were.”
The decision came after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for several parts of England for the weekend Boardmasters was due to take place.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Kinks legend Sir Ray Davies wants to write an opera.
The 75-year-old musician has had a life-long ambition to create a grandiose theatre show and he now feels as though he has the time to make his dream a reality.
In an interview with The Sun newspaper, he said: “I’ve got this mad idea to do an opera, my kind of opera. It will have a groove.”
The Kinks’ music has had a major influence on numerous bands and artists over the years, such as The Jam, James Bay, Oasis and Blur, and Ray is pleased that his tracks have played a part in inspiring so many other songwriters.
He said: “It’s flattering. They saw something in us worth being inspired by.”
This month marks the 50th anniversary of the band’s acclaimed seventh studio LP ‘Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire)’, which was inspired by his older sister Rosie and her husband Arthur Anning who both turned their back on post-war Britain to emigrate to Australia in the 1960s.
Ray thinks the themes of disillusionment and despair contained in some of the songs from that album resonate with what is happening in politics in the UK today.
He said: “Poor old Arthur. I think he’s one of the forgotten masses. He was an enigma, just a plain, ordinary man, working class. I’ve always been attracted to those characters, the silent majority.
“Arthur felt betrayed like so many servicemen after the war. I got a feeling of despair from him because he thought that what his generation fought for was being lost … He saw the future and that’s why he had to get out.
“There’s an eerie connection with now. Arthur felt trapped and lots of people in this country feel trapped. They have no voice, they don’t live in London and they don’t have access to all the right media. It’s a pop-up society and pop-ups only give you limited information.”
Ray’s opera plan could quash the hopes of Kinks fans who have been hoping for new music and concerts from the band after the ‘Waterloo Sunset’ singer patched up his strained relationship with his bandmate and brother Dave Davies in 2018.
The siblings founded The Kinks in 1963 and split in 1996.
The brothers last performed together in 2015 when Ray joined Dave at a gig in London for a rendition of ‘You Really Got Me’.
It was the first time in almost 20 years they had shared a stage with one another.

OHMYGOSSIP — Iggy Azalea is “extremely excited” for her EP to be released.
The ‘Fancy’ hitmaker can’t wait to unveil her new music for her fans and promised it would be here by the end of next month.
She wrote on Twitter: “I’m starting to get extremely excited for you to hear my EP. f***************kkkkkkkk…… (sic)”
When someone asked her what her favourite track was, she added: “F**kkkkkk I don’t know!!! This is a trick question to get me to confirm the names isn’t it? … One track (not the lead single) is called: Stupid people (sic)”
Iggy also confirmed the song had been produced by Carl Falk.
Asked who was working on it behind the scenes, she added: “Carl Falk! Most of the songs are produced by him on this EP, and some work by Jwhite too of course! … I’m not sure there may be a juicy J track on there but I haven’t finalised the track listing so I can’t say 100% everyone yet. (sic)”
Iggy refused to reveal exactly when it would be released but promised her fans it would be next month.
She wrote on the site: “You guys will get it in November.”
Meanwhile, Iggy previously confessed she “hates” some of her own songs and doesn’t think some of her hits have “aged well”.
The rapper said: “Of course I get sick of my own songs. In fact, some of them I hate. Some songs I make and then they don’t age well, and like a year or two later I’m like, ‘ugh, what was I thinking?’ Some of the songs I decide I hate, I still have to perform because the fans want to hear them … I think sometimes I feel defeated because I look at the chart and see how much streaming impacts it, and think, ‘How can I win when I’m up against THAT?’ But I also feel like: ‘Okay, and?’ There are two options. Quit. Or shut up and just keep fighting. So I’ll keep on fighting!”

The 26-year-old singer has released her first new song in a year and admits it has been the “most rewarding so far in her career”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Bieber has confirmed he will drop his new album by the end of the year.
The ‘Never Say Never’ hitmaker and his wife Hailey Bieber took to social media to reveal he will release his fifth studio album, a follow up to 2015’s ‘Purpose’, in the next couple of months.
In an Instagram Live video, Justin could be seen roller-skating around his kitchen while announcing: “I’m putting out an album this year.”
Hailey replied: “This year meaning before 2020? I thought you already were doing it this year?”
Justin said: “Album coming out this year … legit though, like this year.”
This comes after the 25-year-old pop star released a collaboration with country music duo Dan + Shay last Friday (04.10.19).
Sharing a 26-second teaser clip of the track, he wrote on Twitter: “New music. Wedding music. @DanAndShay and this guy. FRIDAY (sic)”
Justin teased earlier this year that his new album is “coming soon”.
Breaking his hiatus to perform with Ariana Grande at Coachella in April, he said: “So anyways this is my first time on stage in two years. I had to get my groove back, my swag back. By the way, album coming soon.”
While he hasn’t dropped an album for four years, Justin has appeared on a number of collaborations, including ‘I Don’t Care’ with Ed Sheeran and a remix of Billie Eilish’s ‘Bad Guy’.
In March, the ‘Love Yourself’ hitmaker said he wouldn’t be rushing his return to music because he wanted to take the time to make something he could be proud of.
He wrote in a lengthy social media post: “So I read a lot of messages saying you want an album .. I’ve toured my whole teenage life, and early 20s, I realised and as you guys probably saw I was unhappy last tour and I don’t deserve that and you don’t deserve that, you pay money to come and have a lively energetic fun light concert and I was unable emotionally to give you that near the end of the tour.

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams’ eldest daughter Teddy features on her dad’s upcoming Christmas album.
The former Take That star has some “special guests” featuring on his festive record, including seven-year-old Teddy, however, his wife Ayda Field has revealed that she didn’t make the “cut” to sing on one of the songs and neither did the couple’s daughter Coco, 13 months, and four-year-old son Charlie.
Speaking on Instagram Live, the ‘Let Me Entertain You’ hitmaker shared: “Appearing on her first Robbie Williams song this Christmas is Theodora Rose Williams.”
Ayda responded: “You’re going to have to start including the other children.”
However, Robbie bluntly told his spouse: “Teddy is the only one who can sing.”
And Ayda said: “On one of them I’m singing … It didn’t make the cut.”
The news of the 45-year-old singer’s Christmas album comes hot off the heels of him announcing he’s recorded the theme song for ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’.
The ‘I Love My Life’ singer has joined forces with composer David Arnold and lyricist Don Black on ‘Hey Tiger!’ as the theme song for Channel 4’s TV movie adaptation of Judith Kerr’s classic children’s book.
Robbie said: “This book has played a big part in me bonding with my kids. I’ve read it possibly 150 times to my first daughter, Teddy, and she is the reason I’m singing the song – I’m honouring those moments with her.
“She loved the book and I got a real heart-warming kick reading a line and her finishing it, so it will be forever in my heart. Plus I’m a massive fan of Don Black and it’s an honour to be singing the words he’s written.
“The song reflects the tiger’s wonderful, magical and mischievous character – it’s whimsical and just what a song should be in this film.”
The original 1968 book follows young girl Sophie, her mother and a tiger who joins them for a hilariously chaotic teatime meal.

OHMYGOSSIP — Coldplay will reportedly release their first album in four years next month.
Chris Martin and co haven’t released a record since 2015’s ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’, but according to an insider they are planning to drop an “experimental” record in November, followed by a “mainstream” studio effort next year, which will likely be followed by a huge tour.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “The first album is the more experimental side of Coldplay, they probably won’t tour until 2020 when the next one arrives.”
Before releasing ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’, the ‘Yellow’ hitmakers released stripped-back LP ‘Ghost Stories’ in 2014, which was believed to be inspired by Chris and ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow’s split in 2014.
In April, it was reported that band members Will Champion and Jonny Buckland had registered a new song titled ‘Conscious Pilot’.
Whilst in November, Mat Whitecross – who directed the band’s documentary ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ and has helmed many of their music videos – teased that the Grammy-winners were planning to drop new material in 2020.
He said: “They’re on a sabbatical at the moment so they’ve been ruthlessly on holiday for a year.
“They’ve never done that before. I don’t know if you can call Chris a workaholic because he loves what he does; he’s in and out of the studio writing three or four songs a day.
“This year, they decided to take off. They haven’t been doing anything as far as I know, but they do have plans for next year however I’ve not been party to them.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ally Brooke wants to release more Spanish-language music.
The former Fifth Harmony member is currently working on her debut solo album, and after teaming up with Kris Kross Amsterdam and Messiah on the Latin track ‘Vámonos’, she is keen to record more tracks in the language to pay homage to her Mexican roots.
In a clip from FUSE’s upcoming ‘Made From Scratch’ series , she teased: “I’m constantly working on my craft and working on other things too … an eventual tour, and I’m working on an album right now … different collaborations.
“I’m so excited – you know some of the collabs that I have!”
Ally’s aunt Diana then asks her: “Are you going to do Tejano?!”
To which she replied: “I would love to eventually, auntie!
“I would love to do even more songs in Spanish.”
Ally – who is currently competing on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ – previously spoke about how “proud” she is of her family’s culture.
She said: “Being Latina means being strong and courageous and I think the number one thing is [to be] passionate.
“We love with such passion and we are so dedicated to our families, to our friends, to our loved ones.
“We care so much about people.
“We want people to come into our homes and feel like its their home, all are welcomed.
“That’s such a beautiful thing about our culture is that we represent that, we rep family, and that is something that’s so magnificent and I’m so proud.
“We have such beautiful culture with out music, with our dancing, with our food. I am so thankful that I am Latina,” she continued. “I am so thankful that I’m Hispanic and everything that it represents, everything that my family represents… that true embodiment of love, and following your heart. That’s what it’s about.”

OHMYGOSSIP — FKA twigs’ new song ‘Home with You’ is about her getting back in touch with “family” and “nature”.
The 31-year-old pop star – whose real name is Tahliah Barnett – has shared the new single from her hotly-anticipated album, ‘Magdalene’, and explained that the song came out of a “flow of consciousness” when she headed back down to the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire to visit her family.
Twigs told Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio: “‘Home with You’ is a record that I’ve written from the heart, and it talks about really just me going home to the suburbs where I’m from in Gloucestershire.
“When in doubt, I just follow my gut and try to be around nature, go back to the Cotswolds, and get in touch with my family.
“Sometimes when I’m in the studio, I can write sort of six ideas a day, seven ideas a day, and then you don’t really realise what you’ve done.
“And I remember with ‘Home with You,’ I had the MP3 on my phone and then I came back to it the next day and I was like, ‘Wow, we really did that.'”
The ‘Pendulum’ singer’s long-awaited follow-up to her 2014 debut album, ‘LP1’, also explores the tumultuous five-year period between her two records, which saw her undergo high-profile heartbreak following her split from Robert Pattinson, as well as the effects of laparoscopic surgery.
She said in a press release about the record: “I never thought heartbreak could be so all-encompassing. I never thought that my body could stop working to the point that I couldn’t express myself physically in the ways that I have always loved and found so much solace.
“I have always practiced my way into being the best I could be, but I couldn’t do that this time, I was left with no option but to tear every process down.
“But the process of making this album has allowed me for the first time, and in the most real way, to find compassion when I have been at my most ungraceful, confused and fractured.
“I stopped judging myself and at that moment found hope in ‘Magdalene’. To her I am forever grateful.”
‘Cellophane’, the album’s lead single, was released in April this year, and came as the first solo track she had released since 2016’s stand-alone single ‘Good to Love’.
And in a recent interview, twigs said the album was inspired by the “sad place” she had found herself in mentally.
She explained: “I was in a sad place, mentally, and I didn’t want to come out of it. I don’t have many friends there, and wasn’t communicating with my friends or family here. I just went and locked myself off.”
‘Magdalene’ is released on October 25.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Black Keys star Patrick Carney doesn’t care about Grammys.
The rock duo might have won four of the prestigious music ceremony’s awards in the past, but the drummer has admitted he thinks the accolades are meaningless.
Appearing on the ‘Joe Rogan Podcast’ with bandmate Dan Auerbach, he bemoaned: “None of my favourite bands have f****ng Grammys.
“The Clash don’t have a f****ng Grammy. … What is a f****ng Grammy?
“Like, what is this s***?
“We’re just j****ng ourselves off and congratulating ourselves.
“Does anybody watch this s*** that really cares about us? I don’t think so.”
The ‘Fever’ rockers’ 2014 LP ‘Lonely Boy’ was nominated for Record of the Year, and the 39-year-old sticksman has admitted he believes winning the prize would have screwed up the band.
He explained: “If we would have won that Grammy, it could have f****d our whole band up.
“I’ve seen it happen with lots of bands.
“You become playschool level.
“We wouldn’t have changed, but the thing is, you start acquiring a fan base that’s more fickle and maybe more annoying.”
The Black Keys returned in June with their first album in five years, ‘Let’s Rock’ – the follow-up to 2014’s ‘Turn Blue’ – and Patrick recently admitted their hiatus was much-needed because the band was taking up their entire lives.
Patrick – who married third wife Michelle Branch in April – said: “I think it’s pretty common for a band to do some stuff on a schedule.
“If you go back to the late ’60s, you’d see that a band like Creedence Clearwater Revival would make like three albums in a year and these bands would last like seven years.
“Ignore the quality of the work, and just look at: How much output can people have together before they start losing it?
“The real bottom line is this: It took us six years to have a hit record and it was unexpected, so when ‘Brothers’ took off and started selling a lot and people started really paying attention, we kind of felt like we had to take advantage of all the opportunities that were presented to us and we were afraid to say no to anything.
“We just got going and we found ourselves five years later … like I went through my second divorce. It was just unsustainable because we weren’t living our lives, we were just doing the band.”

This week saw the ‘Sorry’ hitmaker confirm he will drop his new album by the end of the year, and it looks like fans won’t have long to wait before more new material arrives.
Following the release of the pop megastar’s Dan + Shay collaboration ‘10000 Hours’, Justin tweeted: “Finished something very special in the studio tonight.”
The ‘Never Say Never’ hitmaker and his wife Hailey Bieber took to social media to reveal he will release his fifth studio album, a follow up to 2015’s ‘Purpose’, in the next couple of months.
In an Instagram Live video, Justin could be seen roller-skating around his kitchen while announcing: “I’m putting out an album this year.”
Hailey replied: “This year meaning before 2020? I thought you already were doing it this year?”
Justin said: “Album coming out this year … legit though, like this year.”
Justin teased earlier this year that his new album is “coming soon”.
Breaking his hiatus to perform with Ariana Grande at Coachella in April, he said: “So anyways this is my first time on stage in two years. I had to get my groove back, my swag back. By the way, album coming soon.”
While he hasn’t dropped an album for four years, Justin has appeared on a number of collaborations, including ‘I Don’t Care’ with Ed Sheeran and a remix of Billie Eilish’s ‘Bad Guy’.
In March, the ‘Love Yourself’ hitmaker said he wouldn’t be rushing his return to music because he wanted to take the time to make something he could be proud of.
He wrote in a lengthy social media post: “So I read a lot of messages saying you want an album .. I’ve toured my whole teenage life, and early 20s, I realised and as you guys probably saw I was unhappy last tour and I don’t deserve that and you don’t deserve that, you pay money to come and have a lively energetic fun light concert and I was unable emotionally to give you that near the end of the tour.
“I will come with a kick ass album ASAP, my swag is undeniable and my drive is indescribable his love is supernatural his grace is that reliable…. the top is where I reside period whether I make music or not the king said so. but I will come with a vengeance believe that.. (grammar and punctuation will be terrible pretend it’s a text where u just don’t care). (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Jonas Brothers say it took “a long time to crack the code” of the music industry.
The ‘Hello Beautiful’ hitmakers rose to fame at a young age and urged others who were planning on doing the same to just “get out there” and play and rehearse.
Joe said: “We just got out there and played and I think it’s something that we try to tell a lot of young artists when they ask us for advice. Just get out there and play and rehearse. For us, it started organically with Nick. He was doing a solo record. Somebody heard us and thought we’d be good as a band so it kind of started really fast but it took a long time to crack the code.”
Whilst Nick added: “I would say in addition to the love of music, I think you also have to be conscious of just how scary it can be to have a young person in this business in general because when it’s purely just about the music and the love of music, that’s one thing. But when you add all the other elements, it can go south very quickly so I think I would encourage my kids and our kids to follow their passion but know that we’re going to do our best to be good parents within that and sometimes, it means setting some boundaries.”
The musical trio are currently in the midst of their ‘Happiness Begins’ world tour and touring now has a different dynamic to when they were younger because of their relationships and families.
Kevin told E! News: “We’ve definitely taken a couple of red eyes that last couple of weeks. I think you just have to make it work. Everyone’s busy. Everyone has their own schedule. Each one of our relationships is very different in its own way and I try and do the best I can to get home and see the girls anytime I can. It’s important. When they were out on the road for most of the summer before school started, it was fantastic. It was like a giant playground for them.”
