Louis Tomlinson admits latest award ‘means the world’ to him

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Tomlinson admitted it “means the world” to be named Artist of the Year at Nordoff and Robbins’ inaugural Northern Music Awards.
The former One Direction bandmember and solo star has added another trophy to his awards cabinet, and although he was not in attendance to collect his prize in-person at the charity awards bash at the Albert Hall in Manchester on Tuesday (23.04.24), he couldn’t be more thrilled.
In a video acceptance speech, the Doncaster-born star said: “It means the world to win artist of the year, thank you, thank you, thank you. And thanks to Nordoff and Robbins for doing such an incredible thing.”
The 32-year-old BRIT Award winner also donated his Fender Duo Sonic guitar to raise funds for the UK’s leading music therapy charity after learning to play the instrument himself and hopes it will ”encourage and help someone else begin to learn how to play.”
Spice Girl Melanie C – who hails from Merseyside – was among the winners and was honoured with the Special Recognition award for her outstanding contribution to music.
Sporty Spice, 50, also couldn’t attend the ceremony but had this to say: “Thank you so, so much for this award. Look at that, it’s gorgeous, isn’t it? I’m a little bit out of practice!
“I can’t remember the last time I got an award, especially on my own.
“I can’t quite believe it’s the first Nordoff and Robbins Northern Music Awards. Let’s face it, all the best music comes from the North, so why has it taken so long?
“I’m gutted I can’t be there. It’s great to be honoured by such a wonderful charity which does great work.”
The Courteeners scooped Band of the Year, and fans were treated to a performance of ‘Not Nineteen Forever’ and a cover of Oasis’ ‘The Masterplan’.
Frontman Liam Fray said: “It’s really nice to be in a room with this much talent … but this isn’t about us, it’s about Nordoff and Robbins and the work that they do, it’s about music, and the way they’re changing lives with music and sometimes even saving lives with music.”
Elsewhere, Mancunian rapper Aitch landed Music Moment of the Year for his 2023 Glastonbury set, The Reytons won Disruptor in Music, and rising group The K’s were named Breakthrough Act of the Year.
‘All Around The World’ hitmaker Lisa Stansfield was crowned Northern Icon and gave a performance of the 1989 classic.
The Charlatans star Tim Burgess was presented with the Northern Music Award 2024 by synth-pop icons New Order.
The Northern Awards will be held in different cities across the north every year.

Dua Lipa ‘pulling out all the stops’ for Glastonbury

OHMYGOSSIP — Dua Lipa is “pulling out all the stops” for her Glastonbury set.
The ‘Training Season’ singer is already preparing to start rehearsals for her performance because she is determined to “put on a big show” when she headlines the iconic festival in June and will be bringing an elaborate stage set up featuring moving platforms and a troupe of dancers to Worthy Farm, Somerset.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Dua is the most pop focused headliner Glastonbury have had in years and she is pulling out all the stops to impress.
“She knows how to put on a big show, and she is planning to bring all of that to Worthy Farm.
“Dua will have a dance troupe on stage and will be performing some seriously tricky choreography.
“She is taking some inspiration from Kylie Minogue and will have moving platforms on the stage like Kylie did during her headline slot in 2019.”
The 28-year-old star is expected to be joined on stage by some famous faces.
The insider said: “Dua will have special guests coming out too.”
Dua expects the huge gig will be a “really emotional” moment in her career.
The source added: “In many ways Dua feels like everything since her debut track New Love in 2015 has been leading up to this moment, so it will be a really emotional night for her.”
It was revealed in October that the ‘Levitating’ hitmaker was in talks to headline the festival, and she admitted last month when it was confirmed that she’d top the bill on Friday 28 June she would be fulfilling a long-held ambition.
Dua said: “I have dreamt of this moment all my life.
“Something that lived only in my wildest dreams and highest manifestations.
“I am so excited to see you all in my favourite place on earth and make it a night to remember.”

Lily Allen penning country and western-style songs after slating Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily Allen has revealed her new songs are “country and western” – weeks after slamming Beyoncé’s country collection ‘Cowboy Carter’.
The ‘Smile’ hitmaker has been to Nashville – the home of country – and been penning some new tunes in the narrative style.
Speaking to Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett on the ‘Dish’ podcast, Lily teased: “I’m just making some space for some music. For some music to reveal itself.
“It’s not an album, it’s just, yeah, I’m just, you know, trying some stuff out, see if it works. I do love country and western music. And also I feel like with my writing, it’s quite storytelling, sort of like narrative led music.
“Because I don’t feel things, so it’s never about emotions. So… yeah, and country, country and western music lends itself quite well.”
Lily hasn’t released a record since ‘No Shame’ in 2018, but she’s been slowly working away at building a collection.
Speaking on her ‘Miss Me?’ podcast with close friend Miquita Oliver, she spilled: “I’m in Nashville where everyone is really good. There’s so much legacy.
“I have to say it’s quite intimidating being here. People are really talented.
“I wrote a song yesterday which was quite good, I’m happy with it.”
Lily branded Beyonce’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ “calculated” and shaded her for covering the biggest Dolly Parton hit ‘Jolene’.
Speaking on ‘Miss Me?’, she said: “It’s quite an interesting thing to do when you’re trying to tackle a new genre, and you just choose the biggest song in that genre to cover.
“I mean, you do you, Beyoncé.
“And she literally is doing her — or is she doing Dolly?”
Lily went on to recall Beyoncé’s music mogul husband, Jay-Z, calling out the Grammys for never awarding his wife the Album of the Year prize, adding: “When Jay-Z got up and said that thing, that was part of this campaign.”
Co-host Miquita quipped that it’s ironic that Lily is doing a country album, to which she replied: “It was before the album had come out or even been announced, and she was wearing the blonde wig and a cowboy hat.
“It’s a bit about challenging these institutions that have thus far rejected Beyoncé as the icon and institution that she is of herself. Now she’s the most played woman on country radio.
“But I’m not, like, trying to conquer the country market. I’m here because I’ve loved country music and always have loved country music — not saying Beyoncé doesn’t — but I tell stories in my songs, and quite a lot of country music does the same thing. I think it’s well-suited to what it is that I do.”

Posthumous Johnny Cash album, Songwriter, set for release

OHMYGOSSIP — Unreleased Johnny Cash album, ‘Songwriter’, is set for a posthumous release after being reworked by his son John Carter Cash.
The 11 songs, which were recorded as demos in 1993, have been stripped back to just Cash’s signature bass-baritone voice and acoustic guitar by his and the late June Carter Cash’s 54-year-old son.
Cash died, aged 71, in 2003, and he had recorded the tracks at LSI Studios in Nashville a decade prior to his passing.
The tapes were abandoned when Cash decided to record ‘American Recordings’ with super-producer and longtime collaborator Rick Rubin, however, the re-recordings of ‘Drive On’ and ‘Like A Soldier’ were used on that record.
His son said in a statement: “I wanted it to be songs that mostly people hadn’t heard and that paid close attention to who he was as a songwriter and who he was as an American voice.
“One of my most important focuses in the past 10 years is to make sure that history, as best that I can possibly, is to give history the opportunity to notice him as the great writer he is. Bob Dylan says he’s one of the greatest writers of all of American written music and I agree.
“I want to put that in the forefront. His writing voice specifically is a certain voice, that I think if America wants to know their history, that’s a good place to look. Johnny Cash is definitely one true voice that we can listen to, specifically to his writings.”
Cash and Rubin’s recording engineer, David R. Ferguson, joined forces with John to select musicians who previously worked with the late country legend to appear on the record.
He said: “I would think Johnny would say what he said about every record that I worked on with him, every record I think he ever made, when he got to the end of it, he always said, ‘I think it’s the best record I’ve ever made.’
“You could count on that. I could just hear him say that. I think he’d be really proud of it.”
Among the players are guitarist Marty Stuart, late bassist Dave Roe – who passed away last year aged 71 – and drummer Pete Abbott.
Singing their praises, John added: “Nobody plays Cash better than Marty Stuart, and Dave Roe of course played with dad for many years.
“The musicians that came in were just tracking with dad, you know, recording with dad, just as, in the case of Marty and Dave, they had many times before, so they knew his energies, his movements, and they let him be the guide.
“It was just playing with Johnny once again, and that’s what it was. That was the energy of the creation.”
The joyous first track, ‘Well Alright’, is out now.
Among the collection is the poignant number ‘I Love You Tonite’ in honour of his wife, whilst ‘Like A Soldier’ chronicles his addiction battle.
‘Songwriter’ is released on June 28.

Katy Perry teases ‘biggest song’ yet co-written by rising star Lu Kala

OHMYGOSSIP — Katy Perry has teamed up with Congolese-Canadian singer Lu Kala on one of her “biggest songs that has yet to come out”.
The 39-year-old pop star teased the track during an ‘American Idol’ event this week.
With her arms wrapped around Lu, the ‘I Kissed A Girl’ hitmaker said: “She helped me write one of my biggest songs that has yet to come out. But it’s coming out.”
The 28-year-old co-writer – who appeared on Latto’s song ‘Lottery’ last year – captioned the Instagram clip: “I was not expecting any of this, wow. Thank you @katyperry for letting me be the tiniest part of what you have coming. I can’t wait for the world to hear it.”
Katy recently teased that her new album will be “pure joy and fun”.
The ‘Firework’ singer – who has three-year-old daughter Daisy with fiancé Orlando Bloom – teased the follow-up to 2020’s ‘Smile’ and is looking forward to her seventh studio LP being inspired by her feeling “really happy and whole”, even if other artists would dismiss that as “boring”.
She told ‘Access Hollywood’: “I just have yet to make a record from a place of feeling really happy and whole and full of love.
“Sometimes artists are like, ‘Oh, that’s boring, you want to make music from kind of like a tougher place,’ but actually it’s very bright and joyful, like pure joy and fun and playful and celebratory and a party.”
Her comments echo what she previously teased about her new music, though she admitted it would take time for fans to hear because of her commitments to her daughter.
She told ‘Good Morning America’: “I haven’t put any new material out since my darling Daisy.
“I think that I’m writing a lot and have written a lot from a place of love, because I’m feeling so much of it – so much unconditional love, that love you never knew existed.
“I’m always writing, I have been, but I think what’s really important to me is to be celebrating the world that I’ve got to build with all of these wonderful songs and to be responsible for a life for a three year old.
“I will be back, but let me get this right.”
The ‘Roar’ hitmaker is expected to go on a world tour in support of the record, the first time she has been on the road since ‘Witness: The Tour’ which ran from 2017 to 2018, with her most recent live shows coming as part of her ‘Play’ residency in Las Vegas.
A source previously told The Sun newspaper: “After so long spent on the West Coast of the US, she feels ready to tour again.
“The demand is there because she has so many hits, so taking her show on the road is bound to be a big draw.
“The hope is that she can head out towards the end of 2024, but it is still being worked out.”

Coachella facing a $28,000 after Lana Del Rey was 13 minutes late to stage

OHMYGOSSIP — Coachella is facing a $28,000 (£22,524) fine due to Lana Del Rey’s set running 13 minutes over the curfew.
The ‘Say Yes To Heaven’ singer was again late to the stage when she performed at the Empire Polo Club on Friday (19.04.24), and a representative for Indio in California, where the world-famous music festival is held, has confirmed to TMZ that the organisers are liable to pay the fine.
Considering they were fined a whopping $117,000 (£94,121) for the first weekend last year, as all three headliners were delayed, it’s not the most they’ve been charged for exceeding curfews.
Lana is no stranger to keeping fans waiting.
The ‘Summertime Sadness’ singer was half an hour late at Glastonbury, then blamed the fact she was getting her hair done for her tardiness – only for her hairdresser to appear on stage to finish tending to her tresses as she sang.
After performing ‘Cherry’, Lana said: “Thank you so much, I’m so happy to be here.
“I was so f****** late and I am about to rush this set. If they cut power, they cut power, I’m super f****** sorry.
“My hair takes so long to do. Let’s keep on running the set as it’s supposed to go.”
Her show had been due to end at 11.45pm but was still going on more than 15 minutes later and because of the site’s curfew, her microphone was then cut mid-performance as she sang ‘White Mustang’.
After some moments of confusion, Lana had discussions with someone on stage, and then mouthed the words: “I’m sorry.”
The audience booed and chanted: “Let her sing!”
But Lana then organised her fans into a sing-along of her 2012 hit ‘Video Games’ and walked down to the crowd to take photos and sign autographs for fans.

Kid Cudi cancels tour after breaking his foot at Coachella

OHMYGOSSIP — Kid Cudi has cancelled his upcoming tour after breaking his foot at Coachella.
The 40-year-old rapper has revealed his planned run of shows across North America has been scrapped after he got injured during his last minute set at the festival on Sunday (21.04.24), which was cut short due to the accident as he jumped off stage to get closer to the crowd.
He wrote on Instagram: “Guys, so, I have a broken calcaneus. I’m headed to surgery now and there’s gonna be a long recovery time.
“We have to cancel the tour so I can focus on getting better to be out there in top shape to rage with you all.
“There’s just no way I can bounce back in time to give [100 percent]. The injury is much more serious than I thought.”
The calcaneus is the largest bone in the heel of the foot, and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association says it can take between three to four months to heal.
The ‘Pursuit of Happiness’ hitmaker confirmed that refunds will be available for all tickets, and he is planning to unveil new dates “as soon as possible”.
He continued: “Anyone who bought tickets will get a full refund, you’ll get an email soon.
“We will be back with new tour dates as soon as possible, and I can’t wait to get back out there with you guys and turn up how we do.”

Cudi was set to tour with Pusha T, and the duo are currently booked to go back on the road around Europe and the UK early in 2025.
As it stands, there has been no announcement about those tour dates.

‘I am loving life!’ Robbie Williams teases new music after writing ‘loads of songs’

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams has written “loads of songs”, as he gears up for one of the biggest years of his career.
The 50-year-old singer insisted he is more “ambitious” than he has ever been before, and he is “loving life” ahead of a potential chart battle.
Speaking on Virgin Radio, he said: “I’ve got loads of plans.
“I’ve written loads of songs, I’ve got my film [‘Better Man’] at the end of this year and I’m doing Hyde Park in the summer.
“I have never been busier, I’ve never been as ambitious as I am right now. I am full of purpose and I am loving life.”
Robbie’s song writing confession comes after he recently lamented the “boring” state of the current music scene.
In an Instagram post, he wrote: “How boring is the music scene right now? Im not attacking the music itself. im just lamenting the death of friction, danger, personality.
“I’ll admit I’ve vanilled myself into a corner trying to chase what’s gone. I get it everyone’s scared. No one knows what you’ll say that will get you cancelled.
“No one knows what you’ve already said or written that will end you. So many people to offend. (sic)”
Robbie also insisted he wants to inject some energy “back into [his] musical life”, while praising The 1975 frontman Matty Healy.
He added: “Matt Healy is the only commercially viable Pop/Rock star that I can see who is willing to be something other than beige. I really like Matt he’s unhinged, super smart, super talented and willing to upset. Upsetting for a cause. The cause being a complicated inner life a rebellious streak and boredom.
“I’ve gotta get some of that energy back in my musical life. Like I say “so many people to offend” I hope I have time to fit them all in.
“It’s time to take the **** again… and im looking forward to it. (sic)”

David Gilmour announces first album in 9 years

OHMYGOSSIP — David Gilmour has unveiled his first album in nine years, ‘Luck and Strange’.
The Pink Floyd legend, 78, will return with the follow-up to 2015’s ‘Rattle That Lock’ on September 6, and the lead single, ‘The Piper’s Call’, is out now.
Gilmour has once again teamed up with his wife Polly Samson on some of the lyrics after she contributed to his last LP.
As for the lyrical content, the pair tackle the heavy subject of mortality.
Samson, 61, said: “It’s written from the point of view of being older – mortality is the constant.”
Gilmour said: “We spent a load of time during and after lockdown talking about and thinking about those kind of things.”
The musician joined forces with Alt-J’s producer Charlie Andrew and loved how “direct” he was with him.
Gilmour shared: “We invited Charlie to the house, so he came and listened to some demos, and said things like, ‘Well, why does there have to be a guitar solo there?’ and ‘Do they all fade out? Can’t some of them just end?’
“He has a wonderful lack of knowledge or respect for this past of mine. He’s very direct and not in any way overawed, and I love that. That is just so good for me because the last thing you want is people just deferring to you.
“He wants to know what the songs are about, he wants everyone who’s playing on them to have the ideas that are in the lyric informing their playing. I have particularly loved it for that reason.”
Gilmour’s late Pink Floyd bandmate, keyboard player Richard Wright, who passed away in 2008, makes an appearance on the title track after they recorded their jam session at the former’s barn in 2007.
The record is comprised of eight original tracks and a cover of The Montgolfier Brothers’ ‘Between Two Points’.
The latter features their daughter Romany Gilmour, who sings and plays the harp on ‘Between Two Points’, whilst their son Gabriel added backing vocals.
Gabriel previously performed piano on the song ‘In Any Tongue’ on ‘Rattle That Lock’.
Gilmour added: “Polly and I have been writing together for over thirty years and the Von Trapped live streams showed the great blend of Romany’s voice and harp-playing and that led us into a feeling of discarding some of the past that I’d felt bound to and that I could throw those rules out and do whatever I felt like doing, and that has been such a joy.”
The record also features Guy Pratt and Tom Herbert on bass, Adam Betts, Steve Gadd and Steve DiStanislao on drums, Rob Gentry and Roger Eno – the brother of Brian Eno – on keyboards, and arrangements by Will Gardner.

‘Luck and Strange’ tracklisting:

1. ‘Black Cat’
2. ‘Luck and Strange’
3. ‘The Piper’s Call’
4. ‘A Single Spark’
5. ‘Vita Brevis’
6. ‘Between Two Points’ (with Romany Gilmour)
7. ‘Dark and Velvet Nights’
8. ‘Sings’
9. ‘Scattered’

Meanwhile, Kim was among 200 music stars to call for the “predatory” use of generative AI in the music industry to be stopped.
An open letter – which was also signed by the likes of Billie Eilish, Sam Smith, Jon Bon Jovi, Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry – was sent to machine-learning software companies, which called for tighter regulations on the technology in the industry to “protect against the predatory use of AI to steal professional artists’ voices and likenesses, violate creators’ rights, and destroy the music ecosystem.”
The letter, which was produced by the not-for-profit organisation Artist Rights Alliance (ARA), read: “Make no mistake: we believe that, when used responsibly, AI has enormous potential to advance human creativity and in a manner that enables the development and growth of new and exciting experiences for music fans everywhere.
“Unfortunately, some platforms and developers are employing AI to sabotage creativity and undermine artists, songwriters, musicians and rightsholders. When used irresponsibly, A.I. poses enormous threats to our ability to protect our privacy, our identities, our music and our livelihoods.
“Some of the biggest and most powerful companies are, without permission, using our work to train AI models. These efforts are directly aimed at replacing the work of human artists with massive quantities of A.I.-created ‘sounds’ and ‘images’ that substantially dilute the royalty pools that are paid out to artists. For many working musicians, artists and songwriters who are just trying to make ends meet, this would be catastrophic.”
The organisation warned that unregulated machine-learning software would “devalue” the work of musicians.
The letter continued: “Unchecked, AI will set in motion a race to the bottom that will degrade the value of our work and prevent us from being fairly compensated for it.
“This assault on human creativity must be stopped. We must protect against the predatory use of AI to steal professional artists’ voices and likeness, violate creators’ rights, and destroy the music ecosystem.”

Evanescence’s Amy Lee isn’t Linkin Park’s new singer, but is open to a ‘part-time’ gig

OHMYGOSSIP — Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee has denied she is Linkin Park’s new singer – but would be up for a “part-time” gig with them.
The ‘Bring Me To Life’ hitmaker has been rumoured to be replacing late frontman Chester Bennington – who tragically died by suicide in 2017 – in the ‘Numb’ group, and although she has poured cold water on the speculation, Amy would love them to get in touch if they would have her on a “part-time” basis.
She told Canada’s iHeart Radio: “That is an incredible compliment. I have not heard that. No, I have not been contacted or anything like that. But [I’m a] huge fan feel like our worlds, our fanbases are a lot of the same people.”
Amy insisted: “No, it’s not true. But that’s awesome. They should ask me about that. I don’t have a ton of free time, but I might do it part time.”
Orgy frontman Jay Gordon recently said his words were taken “out of context” when it was reported that he had suggested the nu-metal group had recruited a female vocalist.
He told the ‘Wired in the Empire’ show on KCAL 96.7: “Don’t quote me on that. I’m not sure who the singer is going to be, but I heard it was gonna be female. They might just try to move on like that. That ought to be interesting.”
Jay later clarified: “I know nothing about any of that. People sure do love to take my words out of context. I love those guys and wish them the best.”
Linkin Park have largely been on a break since October 2017’s ‘Linkin Park and Friends: Celebrate Life in Honor of Chester Bennington’ tribute concert.
They released the unreleased song ‘Lost’ in February 2023 for the 20th anniversary of the band’s 2003 album ‘Meteora’, and a second single, ‘Fighting Myself’, followed.
Earlier this year, they put out the ‘One More Light’ outtake, ‘Friendly Fire’, and their greatest hits album,’ Papercuts’, arrived just two weeks ago.

Florence Welch hints at surprise Eras Tour appearance

OHMYGOSSIP — Florence Welch hinted she could pop up at one of Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ shows in London.
The Florence and the Machine singer is featured on the track ‘Florida!!!’ from the pop superstar’s latest LP ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ and has admitted she was slightly naive about “the scale” of being part of Taylor’s crazy world.
She told British Vogue: “I almost didn’t think of the scale of it. There’s the sort of bigness of [Taylor Swift the phenomenon], and then there’s the Taylor I spend time with in the studio, who is just the sweetest and most down to earth.”
Florence continued: “We had such a fun time. And then when it came out I was like, ‘Oh, s***!’”
Quizzed on whether she could appear at one of the eight concerts Taylor is playing at Wembley Stadium this June and August, she played coy: “If I was gonna do it, it would be a surprise.”
Meanwhile, Florence and the Machine are set to play a one-off orchestral gig at London’s Royal Albert Hall, performing their acclaimed debut album, ‘Lungs’, in full.
Florence teased the special concert and is “currently on the hunt for old medieval English instruments.”
‘Florence + The Machine – Symphony Of Lungs’ – which will be part of the BBC Proms – will take place at the historic venue on September 11.
She told the publication: “When [the invitation] came in, they were like, ‘We know you’re off, but would you…?’ and I was like, ‘Yes!’”
The 37-year-old singer added: “I’m so honoured.
“The background to life in my house is classical music, and especially the more obscure things. So it’s a really exciting thing to be asked to do – the Proms is just so special.”
The ‘Dog Days Are Over’ hitmakers released ‘Lungs’ on July 3, 2009, and it went on to nab the BRIT Award for British Album of the Year.
A 10th anniversary edition was released in 2019, with two unheard tracks, ‘Donkey Kosh’ and ‘My Best Dress’, which were recorded during the original recording sessions for the LP.
A special box set also included B sides, rarities, and more.

Normani to release debut solo album Dopamine this June

OHMYGOSSIP — Normani has released ‘1:59’ with Gunna and confirmed her debut solo album, ‘Dopamine’, is out on June 14.
The former Fifth Harmony star has given fans the first taste of her upcoming LP, and finally given them a release date that is not too far away.
Normani has promised fans that the new music will be worth the wait.
She told Who What Wear in February: “I know what I’ve been through. For me, this upcoming album is not just about music coming out. It feels like a representation of everything I’ve gone through to get to this moment… I know I needed time, experiences, and space coming out of [Fifth Harmony] in order to become the version of myself I needed to be. Without [all of that], I would not be able to exist within the creative space that I am in now. I would not be able to make the type of music I’m making now.”
Fifth Harmony split in 2018 and Normani released her first solo single, ‘Motivation’ in August 2019.
She went on to release songs including ‘Diamonds,’ ‘Bad to You,’ ‘Wild Side,’ ‘Fair,’ and ‘New to You’ but ‘Dopamine’ is her first full-length project solo.
Last August, the 27-year-old star joined a new management company, after she parted ways with S10 Entertainment’s Brandon Silverstein in May.
A representative for the star told Rolling Stone: “With new music on the horizon, and Asrat and Creed now at the helm of her musical career, she and the rest of her team are extremely excited to embark on this new chapter and partnership.
“She wishes Silverstein all the best.”
The singer previously vowed not to release her new album until she felt ready.
Normani explained on the ‘Today’ show: “Everybody says, ‘Oh, well, she should’ve dropped her album during ‘Motivation’, which to everybody from an outside perspective seemed like the perfect time. But for me, I was just coming out of the group and I needed to figure out what I wanted my sound to sound like.”
By taking her time, she’s been able to work out what’s important to her.
She explained: “I needed to figure out what I wanted to talk about and what was important to me. And I’ve had the time to do that. So this will really be an introduction to who I really am.”
