The 28-year-old singer has teamed up with luxury ice cream brand Magnum and music producer and DJ Mura Masa, to create three mood-inspired versions of his song ‘Honey’ – with each designed to match three different themes, Euphoria, Wonder and Chill – and the all-new remixes will form part of the ‘Honey – Remix EP’.
Troye said: “Working with Magnum® on creating these tracks has been an amazing journey.
“They are a celebration of what brings us pleasure. Soojin reveals details of upcoming mini-album ‘Rizz’

OHMYGOSSIP — Soojin has revealed the details of her upcoming second mini-album ‘Rizz’.
The South Korean singing sensation, 26, has released the tracklist for the record, which will feature six songs including the single ‘Mona Lisa’.
Other upcoming tracks include ‘Rizz Me Up’, ‘Lime’, ‘Drop Top’ and ‘Summer Daze’.
The mini-album will be released on 23 May, with XSportsNews reporting the upcoming title track ‘Mona Lisa’ will be “mysterious-sounding” and feature electric guitars and synths over an Afrobeats rhythm.
Its lyrics are about the desire to captivate others with a “subtle gaze and charm”– like Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.
Soojin’s opening track ‘Rizz Me Up’ is said to be a tempo-driven UK garage song expressing “attraction to another”, while the closing track from her new record ‘Summer Daze’ will reportedly be in English.
News of the singer’s return to the spotlight was first confirmed by BRD Entertainment in April.
At the time, the agency said it wanted to showcase a “different side of Soojin” while “maintaining her unique allure”.
Soojin’s upcoming release will come about half a year after she made her solo debut with the mini-album ‘AGASSY’ in November, which featured the lead single of the same name.
The singer also recently completed the first leg of her ‘Flowering’ tour in Hong Kong, Sydney and Melbourne.
Before her solo debut, Soojin was a member of K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE from 2018 to 2021.
Her last release with the act was their fourth mini-album ‘I Burn’, which featured the single ‘Hwa’.

Nashville star Sam Palladio reveals how he enlisted the help of a Foo Fighter for new single

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Palladio decided to work on a country music track with Foo Fighters star Chris Shiflett after meeting him through a friend.
The 37-year-old actor is best known for his role in the hit US TV series ‘Nashville’ but teamed up with songwriter Ed Harcourt for new rock track ‘Tennesee’ and on a whim decided to see if guitarist Chris, 52, could also help him out.
He told The Sun newspaper: “I wanted to create a tune that sort of tipped its hat to my kind of American experience.
“I’ve had that riff in my back pocket for a couple of years. I’m not much of a lead guitar player or anything but I had that riff and I was [like] ‘oh, man, something will come of this’. So I kind of brought that to the session, plus that kind of chorus idea for Tennessee.
“Nashville itself has been an incredibly welcoming city and a place I’ve felt inspired and safe,” said Sam “And so a little bit of the storyline is kind of almost like retreating from the light Hollywood back to the south to find my southern girl and burn some fires down there.”
“So I ended up going to a bunch of Foo Fighters concerts with Danny and meeting Chris, the sweetest guy in the world. And so when I was putting this track together and thinking I think this needs a ripping solo.
“We need some fuzzed out guitars. Kind of like a Foo Fighters… Well maybe Chris [laughs]. So I just called Chris and he was like ‘I’d love to’.”
The former ‘Humans’ actor – who has been releasing music since 2012 – then received an “untouched perfect combination” of a sound from the ‘Best of You’ rocker but noted how he had managed to put a country spin on it as well. #
He said: “And then sent me back all these incredible guitars and this guitar solo that was like a one take untouched perfect combination of a sort of alternative sound but a little bit of country in his picking which is what he does really really well.”

Olly Murs cancels Take That support gig at the last minute and unknown singer takes his place

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Murs had to cancel an appearance as Take That’s support act on Friday (03.05.24) night.
The 39-year-old singer has been joining the 1990s pop band on their ‘This Life on Tour’ show and following a string of shows at London’s O2 Arena, was due to open the gig in Glasgow, Scotland at the start of the weekend but couldn’t make it because of flight delays.
He wrote on Instagram: “So sorry to everyone at the @takethat show tonight in Glasgow, unfortunately I won’t be there, I have been at London Heathrow from 11am this morning for my flight but after several delays (check my Instagram) and then a cabin crew incident our @British_Airways flight got cancelled!’.
‘Don’t think I’ve ever missed a gig before, am so annoyed! But am now in a car heading up for our 6hr journey for the Saturday and Sundays show right now.'”
Unknown singer Daniel Rooney took the place of the former ‘X Factor’ star after being spotted by Ross King singing at a nearby hotel, and the musician was rushed over to the 12,000-seater venue in time to take to the stage.
Following his performance, he said: “It’s hard to take it in, it’s really surreal’.
‘I’m just having a chance now to look at my phone and talk to my Mrs and parents and stuff. It was fast – 20 minutes before going on I met Gary and the guys and we talked about what songs to do’.
‘It was great, I got some good singalongs with the crowd etc and it felt like they were really behind me.”
Earlier in the week, Take That – which currently comprises Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald but previously also included Robbie Williams and Jason Orange – completed a six-night residency at London’s O2 Arena and were presented with an award for a record-breaking 39 performances at the venue.

Melanie Blatt ‘back in the studio working on new solo material’

OHMYGOSSIP — Melanie Blatt is said to be back in the studio working on new solo material.
The former All Saints singer, 49, landed five chart-topping singles with the smash 1990s band, including ‘Never Ever’ and ‘Pure Shores’, which featured in the soundtrack to Leonard DiCaprio’s ‘The Beach’ film.
A music insider has now told The Sun she has been “back in the studio and is ready to release her first single in more than a decade”.
The source added: “Mel isn’t a very confident singer and it has taken a lot for her to get back in the studio.
“But she has seen her bandmate Shaznay Lewis do it this year and wants to push herself.
“The plan is for her song with KDA to come out soon and everyone around her is hoping it will encourage her to continue with more music.”
Mel is said to have teamed up with producer KDA for her latest solo effort, after he scored a No1 in 2015 with the song ‘Turn the Music Louder’, a collaboration with Katy B and Tinie Tempah.
The singer’s first push as a solo artist was in 2003 with the single ‘Do Me Wrong’, but it failed to be a hit and her last tune was in 2012, when she sang on DJ Fur Coat’s ‘Fall’s Away’.
Mel formed All Saints with Shaznay Lewis in 1993, with the pair later adding Nicole and Natalie Appleton.
Along with five No 1 singles, the band had two multi-platinum albums and won two Brit awards and an Ivor Novello.
They reformed in 2006 and again in 2013 and Mel has been DJ’ing since leaving the group.
She recently told The Guardian Prince is her music idol and said when asked how she wanted to be remembered: “Just being remembered at all would be great.”

The 34-year-old star wrapped the most recent leg of her ‘The Eras’ tour in Singapore in March and is taking almost two months off before she returns to the road in May – and she’s now revealed she can’t wait to get back on stage after her 11th studio album racked up 2.6 million in unit sales.
In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “My mind is blown. I’m completely floored by the love you’ve shown this album.
“2.6 million ARE YOU ACTUALLY SERIOUS?? Thank you for listening, streaming, and welcoming ‘Tortured Poets’ into your life. Feeling completely overwhelmed.
“I was already so fired up to get back to the tour but you doing THIS?? May 9th can’t come soon enough.”

Paris Hilton declares her new album ‘has it all’

OHMYGOSSIP — Paris Hilton claims her upcoming second studio album “has it all”.
The billionaire hotel heiress, 43, has released 15 singles and recently had her ‘Stars are Blind’ track used in Emerald Fennell’s popular film ‘Promising Young Woman’, and is now set to release a follow-up to her self-titled 2006 album that she says features everything from pop music to ballads and a “really important” message about the perils of fame and vanity.
She told Flaunt magazine about the upcoming LP, due out in autumn: “The album has it all. I love pop music so much and it feels like someone needs to save it so I’m here to do it.”
Paris added the record has “pop bops” and songs inspired by her autobiography ‘Paris: The Memoir’.
The former reality TV regular added she has also included emotional ballads on the record as “Sia is the queen of that”.
It also features an updated ‘Stars Are Blind’ track is called ‘Paris’ Version’, while another song on the album is called ‘Fame Won’t Love You’.
Paris – who has 15-month old son Phoenix and five-month-old daughter London, both born via surrogacy, with her 43-year-old entrepreneur husband Carter Reum – added about the track: “It’s a really important message, because I feel like I don’t want anyone, especially my kids, to put so much of their self-worth on things like fame or beauty.
“I look at love in a completely different way than I did before. Before I had been through so much trauma and pain and had built such a big wall around my heart that I wouldn’t let anyone in.
“It wasn’t until being with my husband that I felt so safe that he made those walls crash down.
“Now with my baby boy and my baby girl, I’m just feeling this love that I’ve never felt before.
“I’m so grateful I found him at this perfect time in my life. Because I wouldn’t have been ready for this type of love had I not done my documentary.
“Now to have a real life – everything feels amazing!”

Shakira reveals family’s money woes have given her relentless drive to succeed

OHMYGOSSIP — Shakira’s family’s financial woes made her such a “driven person” she always feels like she has more to achieve in music.
The Colombian ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ singer, 47, was an only child from a middle-class background, but has previously spoken about how her family became “poor almost overnight” when she was seven in the wake of her dad William Chadid’s jewellery business crumbling.
She has now told Marie Claire about how she now never feels satisfied enough with her career as a result of the trauma: “Maybe it’s a combination of the place where I was born, the way I was raised, the challenges I had to face growing up. It’s just made me a very driven person.
“l always have the drive for more. There’s never a time that I come off stage and don’t think there’s something I could have done better.
“I can never say no to a challenge. There are always new mountains to climb.”
Shakira was taken by her father after his business folded to a park where street children were living to show her they were still privileged.
Her Marie Claire profile says she saw many of them orphaned and barefoot, and made her determined to make money and give back to those less fortunate.
It added she is still dogged by a fear of not “providing” as a result.
Shakira has recently struggled with life as a single mum to her two sons Milan, 11, and Sasha, nine, who she had with her Spanish footballer partner Gerard Piqué, 37, before their painful split in 2022 after 12 years together.
But she says she always draws joy from the roar of her fans at her shows.
She added about having a conversation with her mother Nidia Torrado after one of her gigs about how she should always stay grateful: “Mom was almost in tears. She was very emotional. She said to me, ‘Remember, always be thankful to your fans.’
“One of the things mom always made very clear to me is my huge responsibility and duty as a public figure to other women, and people generally.”

Luke Hemmings hopes new EP will prepare him for fatherhood!

OHMYGOSSIP — Luke Hemmings is hoping his new EP will prepare him for being a dad.
The 5 Seconds of Summer guitarist and singer, 27, says he is soon planning to start a family and revealed he wrote his solo project ‘Boy’ with the aim of it helping him mature ahead of having a child with his songwriter wife Sierra Deaton, 33, who he confirmed this year he had married.
He told Rolling Stone Australia: “As I get older and (am) thinking about having kids at some point, I’m reflecting on myself at that age, still being that struggling boy deep down inside.
“There can be a tendency, especially for men as they get older, to bottle things up inside and not address them until it’s maybe past the point of no return.
“This EP is about uncovering emotions or experiences from my younger years, getting in touch with that inner boy, that inner child, so to speak, in order to become a fully realised version of myself.”
Luke has a solo tour on the horizon including one in his homeland of Australia in June, and said he has to battle moments of panic over how his new material will be received by fans.
He added: “There’s still anxiety about putting anything out, whether alone or with others.
“But you just have to break down the walls and take it as it comes.”
Luke went on about his solo writing approach: “I write in short bursts, over different periods of life.
“Sometimes I’ll start a song and then come back to it months later to finish it. “But lately, I’ve been trying to get across more emotion with less words. In the past, I’ve tended to overcomplicate things lyrically by saying too much. A lot of these new songs aim to be as concise as possible.”

Frank Turner announces massive gig to celebrate 3,000 shows

OHMYGOSSIP — Frank Turner will play his 3,000th gig at London’s Alexandra Palace.
The ‘I Still Believe’ singer songwriter and his band The Sleeping Souls – who topped the UK album charts in 2022 with his most recent LP ‘FTHC’ – are set to play a special show at the iconic venue to mark the incredible milestone since embarking on a solo career almost two decades ago.
He announced the one off gig on Monday (29.04.24) and said: “Holy cow. It’s actually happening.”
Show 3,000 will be held on February 22, 2025 at Ally Pally, which has a potential capacity of over 10,000 punters.
Pre-sale access can be gained by pre-ordering Frank’s upcoming new album ‘Undefeated’ – which drops on Friday (03.05.24) – while those who have already pre-ordered the record in any format will automatically get access.
Of his 10th record, he recently said: “19 years into my solo career, I’m still standing up and putting out some of my best work. It feels good.”
Frank’s 3,000th gig comes just eight years after he celebrated 2,000 shows at Nottingham’s Rock City, which he later live streamed for free during the pandemic.
This weekend, the folk punk musician will mark his new album release with an attempt to break the world record for most shows played in 24 hours.
Kicking off on Saturday (04.05.24), Frank is set to play 15 gigs – each at least 20 minutes – within 24 hours as part of a campaign for Music Venue Trust.
He recently said: “We’re working with 13 independent record shops and 15 independent grassroots music venues for the shows, highlighting two bits of the infrastructure of the underground that I care about most.
“It’s going to be tough, but hopefully fun too. Come down for a show!”
Starting at Liverpool’s Jacaranda at 12:30pm, Frank will play shows in Huddersfield, Leeds, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Nottingham and Birmingham before a midnight gig in Leamington Spa.
From there, he’ll move onto Leighton Buzzard, London, Kingston, Aldershot, Portsmouth, Winchester and Southampton.

Perrie Edwards nervous to make debut live solo performance at Capital’s Summertime Ball with Barclaycard

OHMYGOSSIP — Perrie Edwards is nervous about making her solo live debut at Capital’s Summertime Ball with Barclaycard.
The former Little Mix star, 30, is set to take to the stage at the music extravaganza at London’s Wembley Stadium on 16 June 2024, but she admits it will be weird stepping out on stage without her former bandmates Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
Speaking on Capital FM, she said: “I think I just have to remind myself that it’s just the initial getting out there, like on stage.
“So, the first few seconds of being on stage I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh I need to breathe so I don’t pass out. But, as soon as I’m like one minute into the song – or not even, like a few seconds in – and I see all the fans and everyone having a good time, I’m just like, ‘Oh yes’, I love it!”
As well as Perrie, fans will be able to see a myriad of dazzling pop acts at the event.
On Tuesday morning (30.04.24), more huge names were announced to play Capital’s Summertime Ball with Barclaycard on Capital Breakfast by Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby.
RAYE, Meghan Trainor, Becky Hill, Aitch, Sugababes, Ella Henderson and Paul Russell were confirmed this morning on Capital Breakfast, following yesterday’s announcement that David Guetta, Perrie, Sabrina Carpenter, Benson Boone, Rudimental, Jax Jones, Bradley Simpson and Caity Baser are on the bill.
Ashley Tabor-King CBE, Founder and Executive President of Global said: “As it’s the first Ball with the all new Capital Breakfast team, it is always going to be a very special event. With more huge artists added to the line up this morning on Capital Breakfast, this promises to be one of the best Summertime Balls ever! The whole team at Capital and Global can’t wait to enjoy this with our listeners.”

The Rolling Stones miss the ‘chaos’ and ‘quirkiness’ of late drummer Charlie Watts

OHMYGOSSIP — The Rolling Stones miss the “chaos and quirkiness” of their late drummer Charlie Watts.
The rock legends kicked off their ‘Hackney Diamonds Tour’ at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, on Sunday (28.04.24), marking their second tour without Charlie, who passed away in June 2021 aged 80.
Although the band are impressed by Steven Jordan’s drumming skills – the musician who has taken Charlie’s place since he died – they still miss the intense energy he brought to their performances.
According to the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column, 63-year-old bassist Darryl Jones said: “You can have Steve Jordan – who is playing in his place now – who you would consider to be a more educated and learned musician.
“But he can’t create the same kind of chaos or quirkiness that Charlie did. Charlie really was an enigma.”
Singer Sir Mick Jagger, 80, admits that it has been strange to perform without Charlie, as the sticksman has been playing behind him on stage since he was 19 years old.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Mick said: “Of course, it’s hard. I mean, it’s all my life ever since I was 19 or whatever, it’s always been Charlie.
“Of course, it’s emotional, but you have to get past that in life. I love Charlie and all the things, but I still want to carry on making music.”
Guitarist Keith Richards, 80, added: “It was because of Charlie’s demise that we felt that if the Stones were going to continue, then we better make a mark of what the Stones are now.”
At the NRG Stadium, The Rolling Stones – who also include Ronnie Wood on guitar – wowed the sell-out crowd with a two-hour set that included new songs ‘Angry’ and ‘Sweet Sounds of Heaven’ and a host of their greatest hits that included ‘Sympathy for the Devil’, ‘Gimmer Shelter’, ‘Start Me Up’, ‘Honky Tonk Women’, ‘Miss You’ and more.
The group will play in 16 cities across the US and Canada on the ‘Hackney Diamonds Tour’.

Massive Attack announce line-up for Act 1.5 concert

OHMYGOSSIP — Massive Attack have announced the full line-up of artists that will be taking to the stage with them as a part of their ‘Act 1.5’ show.
The trip hop collective – which features members Robert ‘3D’ Del Naja and Grant ‘Daddy G’ Marshall – will be returning to their home city of Bristol on 25 August 2024 for their first UK show for five years.
The show celebrates 25 years of climate activism by Massive Attack.
The ‘Teardrop’ group will be joined on the bill by three-time Grammy winner Killer Mike, Lankum, ‘Let’s Walk In the Night’ singer Sam Morton and dj Milo.
Massive Attack hope to set a new precedent for decarbonising live music events by powering the show solely through green energy suppliers Ecotricity and Grid Faeries – which will hopefully see ‘Act 1.5’ become the largest show with the lowest carbon and greenhouse gas emissions.
When the group announced the show in December 2023, 3D said Massive Attack was “chuffed” to be returning to Bristol, South West England, and emphasised the band was looking to make a difference regarding climate change.
In a statement, he explained: “We’re chuffed to play our home city again and to be able do it in the right way December.
“In terms of climate change action there are no excuses left; offsetting, endless seminars and diluted declarations have all been found out – so live music must drastically reduce all primary emissions and take account of fan travel.
“Working with pioneering partners on this project means we can seriously move the dial for major live music events and help create precedents that are immediately available.”

Slipknot unveil ‘Here Comes the Pain Tour’

OHMYGOSSIP — Slipknot are heading out on tour this summer to mark 25 years since the release of their self-titled 1999 debut album.
The rockers will kick off the ‘Here Comes the Pain Tour’ in Noblesville, Indiana on August 6 following sets at the Welcome to Rockville festival in Florida and Sonic Temple Festival in Ohio in May and they will perform in cities including New York, Toronto, Dallas and Inglewood, California throughout August and September.
Founding member Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan said in a statement: “Every time I’ve walked on stage, it’s never been about how many people have been there because my culture, the maggots, always show up.
“But as we’ve grown as a band, we have had fewer and fewer of those intimate, personal moments, trading them for massive ones. So we’re gonna make it more personal on the anniversary, but how remains to be seen.
“Just get ready to have your face kicked in. Because we just do what we do, spread that maggot culture – that disease. And you’ve been infected.”
Guitarist Jim Root added: “We loved what we did with the first record but we didn’t even know if there was gonna be anything after that. We just wanted people to hear it. Selling out of records and shows, having successful tours – those are goals for any band. But the dream scenario in some ways, came true for us.”
Slipknot will conclude their North American dates with performances at their Knotfest Iowa festival in Des Moines on September 21 and at the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, California on October 11.
They will then play shows in Brazil and Mexico before heading to Europe in December for a run of shows which ends with a pair of shows at London’s O2 Arena on December 20 and 21.
