Lauryn Hill and the Fugees to resume The Miseducation anniversary tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauryn Hill and the Fugees are heading to the UK later this year.
As well as a series of shows in the US August through to September, the 49-year-old ‘Ex-Factor’ singer – who postponed most of the remaining dates on her tour last year after battling “serious vocal strain” – will bring the ‘Miseducation Anniversary Tour’ to the Co-Op Live arena in Manchester and The O2 in London in October.
The run kicks off on August 8 in Tampa, Florida, and wraps on October 22, in Amsterdam.
As well as performing tracks from her seminal 1998 solo album, ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’, she and her Fugees bandmates – Wyclef Jean, 54, and Pras Michel, 51 – will play tunes from their 1996 LP ‘The Score’.
Before postponing the rest of the jaunt, Lauryn, 49, had been “making it through” each gig by taking a prescribed medication to help her voice, but claimed it was “detrimental to the body when taken in large amounts over long periods of time.”
As a result, Lauryn was forced to “take time off to allow for real vocal recovery.”
She wrote on Instagram at the time: “I’d like to start this off by saying how much I’ve enjoyed being on the road, and how much I appreciate all of the fans who have come out to celebrate this incredible milestone anniversary and history making reunion with us. Being able to tour this album to sold out crowds after 25 years has been an emotional experience! I’ve loved sharing the stage again with Wyclef and Pras. The Return of the Fugees has been powerful and amazing – those who’ve witnessed it can testify. The tour itself reminds us the artists, and the audiences alike of earlier, perhaps less complicated times when ‘It could all be so simple…’ or ‘Ready Or Not, here I come!’ were on repeat on the airwaves. Simply put, classic. Classic music, classic performances with audiences who love those classics has been nothing but…wait for it … EPIC. (I almost said classic again!)
“As many of you may know, I’ve been battling serious vocal strain for the past month. I made it through each show by taking prescribed prednisone, but this can be detrimental to the body when taken in large amounts over long periods of time. In order to prevent any long term negative affect on my voice and my body, I need to take time off to allow for real vocal recovery so that I can discontinue the medication completely.
“For this reason we have to reschedule most of the remaining shows this year. The shows that were cancelled this year will be rescheduled for early 2024 AND because of the overwhelming response, we’ll be adding new cities to the tour, including overseas.
We’re working on the new calendar now, and announcing soon. (sic)”

Hozier duets with Ed Sheeran at Pinkpop 2024

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran was a special guest during Hozier’s set at Pinkpop festival.
The ‘Too Sweet’ hitmaker, 34, introduced the 33-year-old Grammy winner to the stage as “one of the biggest artists on the planet” and said he was “so honoured” to get to share a stage with him before they launched into ‘Work Song’ from Hozier’s 2014 self-titled debut album.
He said onstage at the festival in Landgraaf, Netherlands: “For this next song, this is such a treat and I feel so, so honoured that I get to do this. This is going to be so much fun. I would like to invite to the stage one of the biggest artists on the planet. Aside from that and [being] an incredible songwriter but a wonderful person and a wonderful guy.”
Ed had already jumped onstage with nu-metal legends Limp Bizkit for a cover of The Who’s ‘Behind Blue Eyes’ at the music extravaganza.
Meanwhile, Hozier previously revealed he was blown away by how “f****** talented” Ariana Grande is.
In a video for ELLE, he said: “I love her music. I think she’s an excellent pop artist, I really do. I think she’s incredibly talented. I think every time I hear her sing, I’m reminded of just how f****** talented Ariana Grande is.”

Dave Grohl turned dressings rooms into makeshift pub at London Stadium

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Grohl opened his own pub backstage at the London Stadium.
The Foo Fighters frontman, 55, ended the rock group’s pair of gigs at West Ham’s ground on June 22 by throwing up the doors to his very own Duke of York boozer inside the dressing rooms.
Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney, 82, and U2 frontman Bono, 64, were all invited and those at the after-party allegedly drank the bar “dry” as they stayed until the early hours.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Dave knows how to party and loves a drink-up. He opened his own pub for his VIPs – and they stayed up until 6am going at it.
“They drank the bar dry after their last show and it was light by the time everyone started getting cars home.”
Dave also found himself in trouble with Taylor Swift’s fans after he poked fun at her that day.
The 34-year-old pop superstar was playing Wembley Stadium across town as part of her ‘The Eras’ tour on the same night and made a joke about the ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker to the audience.
He said: “We were joking about the Taylor Swift tour earlier. I know that she’s on her ‘Eras Tour’. I’m telling you man; you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.
“So we like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour’ because I feel like, we’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few f****** errors as well. Just a couple. That’s because we actually play live. What?”
He then went on to add: “I’m just saying, you guys like raw, live rock ‘n’ roll music, right? You came to the right f****** place.”
However, Dave did indeed appear to incur Taylor’s “wrath” as she seemingly hit back at his comments the following night when she played her third gig at Wembley Stadium on Sunday (23.06.24) and gave a shout out to her band for “playing live” for the entire set.
She told the crowd: “What you just did is an unforgettable moment in not just my life, but every very single one of our crew. The band that’s going to be playing live for you for three and a half hours tonight.
“They deserve this so much and so does every one of my fellow performers, and you just gave that to us so generously. We’ll never forget it.”

Shania Twain wants to ride to Glastonbury stage on a horse

OHMYGOSSIP — Shania Twain would love to ride a horse to the stage when she plays Glastonbury this weekend.
The ‘You’re Still The One’ hitmaker has previously performed seated on her favourite four-legged animal during her Las Vegas residency show, and if she can find a horse for her Sunday afternoon (30.06.24) legends slot and she is given permission, she’d love to ride to the Pyramid Stage in saddle.
Appearing on ‘BBC Breakfast’, she said: “I love horses. I love animals I’m going to see if there’s a horse around, I can borrow.
“I’d love to ride a horse to the stage,” but admitted, “I’ll have to find out if it’s allowed.”
The 58-year-old country pop icon admits it’s “surreal” following in the footsteps of the likes of Dolly Parton and Diana Ross playing the slot reserved for music royalty.
She said: “They are all people I consider to be music heroes and have been a big influence on my own career, so it’s surreal to have been invited
“It’s been explained to me that it is a real event, a once in a lifetime thing. Everyone keeps going: ‘Let me tell you about it. Let me tell you about my experiences.’”
As well as performing on a horse, the ‘Man! I Feel Like A Woman!’ hitmaker has also duetted with her own horse before.
For the ‘ACM Presents: Our Country’ TV special in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Shania performed in self-isolation for the virtual show with her horse and pet dog by her side in her barn.
She said: “These are crazy times, but we’re gonna do what we always do, and pull together get through it. From our homes to your homes, with stories, songs, and all of us because let’s face it, we’re all in this together.”

Megadeth ‘actively working’ on new album with David Ellefson’s replacement

OHMYGOSSIP — Megadeth are “actively working” on their next studio album.
The Thrash metal legends have been busy in the studio making the follow-up to 2022’s ‘The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead!’
Bassist James LoMenzo told Portugal’s ‘Metal Global’: “We’re actively working on music right now.
“We’re talking with Dave [Mustaine, Megadeth’s singer/guitarist] every day. Dave really wants to do another record and just get something fresh out there.”
James didn’t appear on the previous outing, with session player Steve Di Giorgio recording the bass parts, as he had only just replaced David Ellefson, who was let go amid a sex scandal.
He said: “The last one I thought was great.
“When I had just joined the band, they just finished recording it. I begged, I pleaded, I said, ‘I know, I know, I know, but could I please play bass on this?’ ’Cause there’s a few things I had heard were so great.
“And they were, like, ‘We’ve been doing this for two years. We just have to get on the road. It’s done.’ I was, like, ‘All right.’
“But Steve Di Giorgio did an amazing job. I really love the way he played on this. And I enjoy playing his style.”
Dave was going through treatment for throat cancer in 2019, but still soldiered on with the record.
However, the hardest part of all was dealing with “chemo brain”.
He told Total Guitar in 2022: “I think it did (distract him), to a degree.
“The toughest part wasn’t the process of going through all the radiation and chemotherapy, a lot of the cancer medication they gave me f***** with my memory really bad.
“They call it chemo brain, so I’ve been having a hard time staying in the moment, but it’s getting better.”
And when asked whether he’s thinking of retiring, Dave insisted for as long as he can still pick up and play his instrument, he’ll keep shredding.
He replied: “When I got sick I had been talking a lot about playing out a little less.
“Now, if anything, I want to tour more and just carry on until the end when I actually can’t do it anymore.
“I’m not talking about the time when I don’t want to do it anymore.
“I mean when it’s not possible for me to do.
“When I can’t do it, that’s when I’m not gonna want to do it.”

Ayra Starr talks ‘crazy’ Glastonbury debut and studio time with Chris Martin

OHMYGOSSIP — Ayra Starr admits it’s “scary” thinking about the fact she’s set to play the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.
The Afrobeats star, 22, is set to perform on the main stage at the world-famous music festival at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, on Saturday (29.06.24), and she cannot believe it’s happening.
Speaking to the BBC, she said: “It’s actually crazy. I’ve wanted to do Glastonbury for so long.
“The fact that I get to do it on the main stage is kind of scary… but I love scary.”
Along with Burna Boy, 32, they are the first Afrobeats stars to play the festival’s main stage.
She said: “It’s our time. We’ve been waiting for the globalisation of Afrobeats, and it’s happening now.
“But it’s not just what you’re seeing today. It’s years and generations of musicians and hard work that’s made it what it is.”
And she gets to celebrate the genre alongside one of her idols.
Asked who she is inspired by, she said; “I used to listen to Burna Boy, Wizkid, 2face and all the Afrobeat artists – but Rihanna was my number one.”
Talking of the ‘We Found Love’ hitmaker, the ‘Rush’ star got to meet her hero and described it as a “spiritual experience” and had her mind blown when she told her she was a fan of her music.
She told reporter Mark Savage of meeting the 36-year-old Bajan superstar: “Oh, Mark, it was a spiritual experience! And I didn’t just meet her – she knew me and loved my music.
“I was just like, ‘Naaaah, this is crazy!'”
Coldplay’s Chris Martin, 47, has also been in the studio with her and provided some advice after she played him her latest LP, ‘The Year I Turned 21’.
She said: “Oh, my. Yes. I’ve loved Chris for so long, and he’s been very supportive.
“We met in a studio and I played him my album before it came out. He was giving me tips, and [his producer] Max Martin was giving me tips.
“I took them all. I was like, “Yes, I’ll do all of that!”
Ayra refused to say if she has contributed to the ‘Viva La Vida’ group’s upcoming album, ‘Moon Music’.
Asked if she was with them to work on the project, she replied: “I don’t know. I don’t know about that!”

Perrie Edwards hints at new solo song about former Little Mix bandmate Jesy Nelson

OHMYGOSSIP — Perrie Edwards has suggested she has a song about former Little Mix bandmate Jesy Nelson on her debut solo album.
The ‘Forget About Us’ singer, 30, and her bandmates – Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 32, and Jade Thirlwall, 31 – lost touch with Jesy, who walked away from the band in 2021, citing her mental health as a factor, and although she hasn’t named her, Perrie has revealed she cries every time she plays the unnamed track about a friendship she mourns the loss of.
She told ‘The Zach Sang Show’: “There’s a friendship that I no longer have. I wrote a song about that. That song – I can’t even listen to it without crying. It is about them and how we didn’t see eye-to-eye. It’s a really sad song. We don’t talk any more.
“They were a big part of my life so it’s sad how it all ended up.”
Asked if she thinks there is any chance of her and then friend making amends, she replied: “I’m open to it. I don’t know if they would be after they hear the song.”
Jesy previously revealed she hadn’t spoken to her bandmates since.
She told The Sun last year: “Being in a girl band, you are a machine going all the time. You don’t have a minute to breathe and take time out if you just need space. That was something I struggled with.
“For me my mental health issues were an ongoing thing while I was in Little Mix.
“I was struggling with my body issues, I was constantly being trolled and I really, really struggled. I was in it for nearly 10 years. I think I was never prepared for what was to come.
“I didn’t have social media or any of that. I was just a barmaid working in Dagenham.”
She stressed she has no “regrets” about quitting the band.
Asked if she sees herself reconnecting with the group – which shot to fame on ‘The X Factor’ in 2011 before going on to sell 60 million records worldwide – she replied: “Never say never, but I honestly wish them the best on their solo journeys now, which is so exciting. That is what is so exciting about all of us.
“We are all musically different. We will all go in our own lane. I’m rooting for all of them. I honestly do wish them all the success as they are all crazy talented.”

Kasabian ‘playing secret set at this year’s Glastonbury festival’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kasabian are said to be playing a “secret set” at this year’s Glastonbury festival.
The band was hit by heartache in 2020 when its then lead singer Tom Meighan, 43, stepped down by “mutual consent” a day before he appeared at Leicester Magistrates Court 7 July to face a charge of assault against his partner Vicki Ager – with the rocker pleading guilty to one count of assault by beating before he was sentenced to 200 hours of unpaid work.
With the band’s guitarist Serge Pizzorno, 43, not fronting the group, a source said they have been lined up to play a gig at Worthy Farm, Somerset, this weekend, a decade after they took to the stage at the festival with Tom on singing duties.
A source told The Sun about how the band has been booked to play the Woodsies site of the three-day at 6pm on Saturday (29.06.24): “Glastonbury is always a big deal but this year Kasabian really can’t wait, especially as it’s a decade since they were last there.
“They loved the idea of being a secret act and jumped at the idea when it was suggested by Glasto boss Emily Eavis.
“The set will be an hour long. Fans are going to go absolutely nuts when they realise Kasabian are playing and Glasto are ready for it to be absolutely mobbed.”
After forming in 1997, it took until 2004 for Kasabian to make it big, thanks to a string of hits on their debut album.
They have gone on to rack up six No1 albums, with all but their first hitting the top spot.
Kasabian said in a statement at the time of Tom’s departure: “Tom Meighan is stepping down from Kasabian by mutual consent.
“Tom has struggled with personal issues that have affected his behaviour for quite some time and now wants to concentrate all his energies on getting his life back on track.
“We will not be commenting further.”

Neil Young and Crazy Horse announce ‘big unplanned break’ from tour due to illness

OHMYGOSSIP — Neil Young and Crazy Horse have cancelled the remaining dates on their tour due to illness.
The 78-year-old musician admitted he and his longtime backing group have enjoyed a “great experience” on their ‘Love Earth Tour’, but they have had to shelve the remaining shows after “a couple of (the band)” were struck down with illness after their last gig.
Their last gig was at the Pine Knob Music Theatre, in Independence Township, Michigan, on 22 May, and the unnamed band members are “still not fully recovered”.
Neil said in a statement on his website: “The Love Earth Tour has been a great experience for us so far. GREAT AUDIENCES AND MUSIC. WE HAVE HAD A BLAST!
“When a couple of us got sick after Detroit’s Pine Knob, we had to stop. We are still not fully recovered, so sadly our great tour will have a big unplanned break.”
Neil and Crazy Horse are hoping to reschedule “some of the dates” when they feel ready to “rock again”.
He added: “We will try to play some of the dates we miss as time passes when we are ready to rock again! We know many of you made travel plans and we apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for your understanding and patience.”
But the ‘Heart Of Gold’ hitmaker insisted health is “number one”.
He said: “Health is #1… we want to stay and do more shows and more albums for you… and for us… with love and thanks to all of you from Crazy Horse… Neil, Micah, Ralph and Billy… Love Earth.”
Neil and Crazy Horse were due to play seven shows in Canada in July, and three in the US in late September, including one at California’s Ohana Fest on 28 September.
A post on Ohana Fest’s X account said: “We are sad to announce that Neil Young with Crazy Horse will no longer be performing at Ohana Festival 2024.
“Please stay tuned for a lineup update coming as soon as possible; in the meantime, we are wishing the band a speedy recovery.”

Lil Nas X returning with new single that samples Crazy Frog

OHMYGOSSIP — Lil Nas X has apologised for being “so sacred” with his “art”, and excited fans by announcing his new single is dropping on Friday (28.06.24).
The ‘Old Town Road’ hitmaker will return with the tune, ‘Here We Go!’, after fans waited six months for more solo material.
Alongside the artwork, he wrote: “so excited to release the best song of all time this friday! also sorry I’ve been so scared with my art lately. I’m coming around to myself again. I will make you guys very proud.
“HERE WE GO! 6/28 (sic)”
His ‘He Knows’ collaborator, Camila Cabello, 27, commented: “nature has seasons and so do we. there is no spring without winter. it’s your time to bloom baby!!! (sic)”
The new song samples Axel F’s 2005 hit ‘Crazy Frog’ and is one of the tracks used in the upcoming flick ‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’, starring Eddie Murphy, 63, which hits Netflix on July 3.
The 25-year-old rap star released a pair of singles in January, ‘J Christ’ and ‘Where Do We Go Now’.
He also released the documentary film ‘Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero’, which profiled his 2022 ‘Long Live Montero Tour’.
Nas X released his debut album ‘Montero’ to acclaim in 2021.
Meanwhile, Nas X has been in the studio with PinkPantheress.
The music star – who has previously duetted with Billy Ray Cyrus and Jack Harlow – and the ‘Boys A Liar’ singer are both viral stars of the TikTok generation, and they could be about to collaborate.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “PinkPantheress and Lil Nas are both working on albums at the moment, and they really clicked after being introduced.
“They have a lot in common and have been in the studio together.
“It is yet to be seen what they have come up with, but they’ve certainly been inspiring each other.”
Nas X shot to fame when his country trap hit ‘Old Town Road’ went viral in early 2019 before climbing the charts.
Pantheress, 23, reached number two in the UK and Australia with the viral tune ‘Boys A Liar’, while the 2023 remix featuring rapper Ice Spice became her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking in the top five.

Van Morrison announces duets album featuring unreleased tracks with Willie Nelson and Joss Stone

OHMYGOSSIP — Van Morrison has dusted off tracks from his vault for his upcoming album, ‘New Arrangements And Duets’.
The ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ hitmaker has revealed the record contains just a “small percentage” of the unreleased material he has in his archive that he plans to release.
It features a host of duets with Willie Nelson, Joss Stone, Curtis Stigers and Kurt Elling, which were recorded between 2018 and 2019.
On Instagram, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer shared: “This album represents a small percentage of the huge amount of unreleased material we are hoping to roll out in the near future, rather than letting it gather dust in some archive.”
The collection will arrive on September 27.
Van’s last project was the covers album ‘Accentuate the Positive’.
He previously insisted he is only motivated to do things that inspire him, not what other people want him to do.
The 78-year-old musician told Vintage Rock magazine last year: “I’m not interested in what other people want me to do or what they expect. I think if you’re successful, then you should be able to do what you want. So I enjoy doing this music. I have always enjoyed it… I just do what I like with music that inspires me and has always inspired me. So there’s no particular reason. It’s just what I want to do.
I can do it, you know?”

The ‘New Arrangements And Duets’ tracklisting:

1. ‘Ain’t Gonna Moan No More’ – with Kurt Elling
2. ‘Broken Record’ – with Kurt Elling

Coldplay share euphoric single feelslikeimfallinginlove

OHMYGOSSIP — Coldplay have shared their euphoric new song, ‘feelslikeimfallinginlove’, from their upcoming LP ‘Moon Music’.
Chris Martin and co recently unveiled their long-awaited follow-up to 2021’s ‘Music of the Spheres’, and after debuting the lead single live in Hungary, they’ve shared the first offering from the record.
The sweet track sees Chris – whose partner is 34-year-old ‘Fifty Shades’ actress Dakota Johnson – sing about his lover: “Oh, it feels like
“I’m fallin’ in love/Maybe for the first time/ Baby, it’s my mind you blow…”
The huge tune is produced by Swedish studio wizard Max Martin – who is best known for his work with the likes of Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd and produced their last album.
‘Moon Music’ is due for release on October 4, 2024.
The eco-conscious rock band are releasing the record on vinyl made from recycled plastic bottles.
A special copy boasts 70 per cent river plastic, taken from the Rio Las Vacas in Guatemala, with the ‘Yellow’ hitmakers claiming that will reduce the record’s carbon footprint by 85 per cent.
It comes after Coldplay recently thanked fans after they were able to cut their tour emissions by 47 per cent so far amid their ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’, compared to their 2016 and 2017 jaunt.
The group had previously vowed not to tour again until they could reduce their footprint.
Coldplay said: “This is a good start – and something that our incredible crew should be very proud of – but clearly there’s still room for improvement.
“The emissions data from the first 12 months of the tour has now been collated, assessed and independently validated by Prof. John E. Fernandez of the MIT Environmental Solutions Initiative. On a show-by-show comparison, the Music Of The Spheres Tour has so far produced 47% less CO2e emissions than our last stadium tour (2016-17).”
Next weekend (29.06.24), Coldplay will headline Glastonbury again.

Yungblud shares deeply vulnerable track, breakdown, about ‘hardest year of his life mentally’

OHMYGOSSIP — Yungblud wrote his new song ‘breakdown’ whilst being “consumed” by “inexplicable darkness”.
The ‘Fleabag’ rocker says the brooding track, which started life as poem, is a stepping stone to where his new music is “heading” and vowed to “beat” the “darkness”.
In a lengthy statement about the toughest year of his life, he explained: “I wrote this song because it’s been the hardest year for me mentally. I feel myself changing and throughout my life I’ve never felt good enough, it’s been the main thing that on the one hand has driven me forward but on the other, has eaten me up. For as long as I can remember I have felt constantly afraid of how quickly my head can turn dark.
“It’s always been so hard to fight the darkness that I inevitably have. A lot of people will say it’s a phase and it will go away. But it doesn’t and the reality of the situation is I have to find strategies to allow it to exist and to deal with it as a constant.
“A lot of us can feel like our lives are insignificant. We can feel like we have no purpose, so what is there to live for? The inexplicable darkness inside our heads can consume us. It can make it hard to get out of bed in the morning, force us to cancel plans, or back out of opportunities last minute.”
Yungblud heartbreakingly admits in the confessional lyrics that he had been feeling like wanting to “die before I open my eyes” – but now he seeks the light.
He went on: “This song was written as a message to myself to try and exist alongside my insecurities and my darkness by grounding myself and remembering what is real in life and that the world is so much bigger than me.
“In the past my art has been about highlighting the pain and letting the world know that it is there, in order to relate to others but now I want to beat it. This song is a gateway to where my new music is heading. Embracing the light, realising what’s beautiful in the world and fighting the darkness – not wallowing in it.”
On what he wants people to take away from the lyrics, he concluded: “It’s about getting out of your head and noticing the world around you, the things and people. Connect with them, the chances are they probably feel the same. Don’t let the bull**** inside your head consume you. It just wastes precious time and life potential.
“Remember what is real. Help people, be kind, help the world, help yourself. You’re probably living more than you think.”
Stream ‘breakdown’ now on all major platforms.

Paloma Faith feels ‘moved’ to be returning to Glastonbury

OHMYGOSSIP — Paloma Faith feels “honoured and moved” to be playing Glastonbury.
The ‘Stone Cold Sober’ singer is “excited” to be heading into festival season and she believes it is a sign that her work is “respected” that Emily Eavis has booked her to perform on the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm later this month.
She told Record Collector magazine: “I’m excited. Festival season is brilliant.
“It’s eight years since I last did Glastonbury. The Pyramid Stage next.
“I feel honoured and moved and a bit emotional.
“It means that I’m respected as a performer, which means a lot to me.
“I love performing. It’s my main motivator for making music.”
Paloma has been on the road promoting her latest LP ‘Glorification of Sadness’, and while she finds it “exhausting” juggling the demands of her two children with her commitment to the show, she is still enjoying being back on stage.
Asked how the tour has been going, she said: “Amazing. It’s the new album first half and then a greatest hits.
“It feels profound, an emotional journey, and a celebratory feeling.
“It’s the most exhausted that I’ve ever been on tour, now that I’m a single mum.
“When I get back home from a gig, I don’t have a partner to do the kids’ breakfasts and get them off to school. I do it all. No lie-ins now.
“Driving overnight is gruelling, awful, but my kids come with me on tour on weekends and in the holidays.”

Russell Crowe has embraced the ‘anarchy’ of musical performances

OHMYGOSSIP — Russell Crowe enjoys the “anarchy” of performing with Indoor Garden Party.
The ‘Gladiator’ actor will make his debut at the Glastonbury Festival with his band next weekend and says that the freedom of being on stage contrasts significantly to the “controlled” nature of film sets.
Speaking to Sky News, Russell said: “Film sets tend to be very controlled. You’ve got to respect the gods of film and be completely ready and have done your research. Just recently, for example, I had a 17-page scene to do with an actor, and that takes an enormous amount of preparation and quiet contemplation to get yourself in the groove.
“It doesn’t matter what you’ve necessarily prepared, the way the audience responds and everything will adjust and move that show. It’s that kind of anarchy, where you just don’t really know for sure what’s going to happen, that is really attractive.”
The Oscar-winning actor urged those who are attending his gig at Worthy Farm to forget about his acting work and come for the music.
The 60-year-old star said: “We’re going to blow that place up. It’s like, chuck all the celebrity b******* aside, or the fame for doing some other job aside. You’ll see a serious band and it’s full of monster musicians who know what they’re doing.”
Russell has appeared in movies such as ‘A Beautiful Mind’ and ‘LA Confidential’ during a successful acting career but explained that he has been playing music for far longer.
He said: “I had years and years of touring and playing in pubs and clubs before I got a feature film.
“In fact, when I first started (acting), the idea I would be in a feature film one day was ludicrous.”

Sheryl Crow blasts Drake for ‘hateful’ AI resurrection of Tupac Shakur’s voice

OHMYGOSSIP — Sheryl Crow has slammed Drake for the “hateful” act of using AI to resurrect Tupac Shakur’s voice on his song ‘Taylor Made Freestyle’.
The 37-year-old rapper utilised artificial intelligence to clone the murdered performer’s voice on his Kendrick Lamar “diss track” earlier this year – although the tune was subsequently removed after Tupac’s estate threatened legal action – but Sheryl thinks it should have never been released at all.
She told the BBC: “You cannot bring people back from the dead and believe they would stand for that.
“I’m sure Drake thought, ‘Yeah, I shouldn’t do it, but I’ll say sorry later.’ But it’s already done, and people will find even if he takes it down.
“It’s hateful. It is antiethical to the life force that exists in all of us.”
Sheryl is fearful about the impact that the “slippery slope” of AI will have on all walks of life and admits that it was a chilling experience when she used the technology to have a clone of John Mayer replacing her vocals.
The 62-year-old musician said: “I know John and I know the nuances of his voice. And there would be no way you’d have been able to tell that he was not singing that song.”
Sheryl has urged politicians to impose tighter regulation on the use of AI but does take comfort in the fact that the software will never be able to replace the thrill of a live performance.
The ‘All I Wanna Do’ singer said: “AI can do lots of things, but it can’t go out and play live.
“So as long as we have live music, as long as we have hands holding a paintbrush, all is not lost.”
