Lady Gaga describes working on new music as like ‘meditation’

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga has admitted making music feels like “meditation”.
The 38-year-old pop superstar has delighted fans by revealing she is still busy at work on her follow-up to 2020’s ‘Chromatica’ and loving every minute.
She captioned a series of black-and-white studio snaps on Instagram: “Just me in the studio – happy as ever making music.
“Feel so grateful, heart is peaceful. It’s like meditation.
“I can’t wait for you to hear what I’m working on.”
Back in May, during a discussion for her movie ‘Gaga Chromatica Ball’, she teased: “I have written so many songs and I have produced so many songs. It’s nothing like anything that I’ve ever made before. There’s something really beautiful about knowing that you will be loved no matter what you do.”
Meanwhile, the ‘A Star is Born’ actress recently revealed she wants to record another single with Beyonce.
The two superstars teamed up on ‘Telephone’ in 2010, and the ‘Bad Romance’ hitmaker also featured on her pal’s track ‘Video Phone’ in 2009, and after fans speculated they were recording a follow-up track earlier this year, Gaga teased it could still happen.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Whenever Beyoncé calls, I’d like to pick up the phone.”
Speculation began in February, when Beyonce’s Verizon commercial debuted during the Super Bowl, teasing her new music, and fans drew comparisons between the motifs in promo images and videos for ‘Cowboy Carter’ and the vibe of the ‘Telephone’ music video.
But while any new duet may not be happening in the near future, Gaga teased fans won’t need to wait too long for her seventh studio album.
She said: “I have been working on my new music all the time and I truly live and breathe it. I just can’t wait to give it to the fans.”
Asked when fans can expect the record, which she described as a “completely different project”, she added: “They hate when I say, ‘Soon,’ but soon.”

John Legend gives new All Of Me approval

OHMYGOSSIP — John Legend “gave his blessing” for a new release of his hit song ‘All Of Me’.
The Grammy-award winning singer originally penned the track alongside songwriter Toby Gad for his wife Chrissy Teigen back in 2013 and it remains his biggest song to date.
And now, his collaborator has re-released the song for his new album ‘Piano Diaries – The Hits’ with TikTok sensation Celina Sharma on vocals and Toby says John approves of the new version.
He said: “John is still a friend and I see him a few times a year for parties, and I asked him for his blessing on the new version with Celina Sharma and I was happy that he gave it. Celina responded to a duet challenge on TikTok and it was so incredible that we flew her to LA and recorded together. It came together so quickly over 4 days, she is a true talent and a great performer, I’ve loved working with her.”
Toby – who has accumulated 25 billion streams after writing songs for Madonna, Beyonce and Fergie – says he had no idea ‘All Of Me’ would be as successful as it has.
He admitted: “I felt it was an honest love song. I didn’t know it was going to be one of the biggest songs in music history.”
John and Chrissy celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary last year and have four children together and has previously said the song will always be special to them.
He said: “Of course, the most impactful song was the one I sang at our wedding reception: ‘All of Me’. The first time I sang it for Chrissy, I whispered it into her ear and she cried.”
As well as Celina performing John’s song, ‘Piano Diaries – The Hits’ also features Victoria Justice covering Fergie’s ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ and Angelina Jordan doing Beyonce’s ‘If I Were A Boy’ and is available to stream and buy here https://ffm.to/pianodiariesthehits.

Big Sean announces album after leaks

OHMYGOSSIP — Big Sean’s sixth solo album ‘Better Me Than You’ will be released on August 9.
Just one day after the 14-track album was leaked online, Big Sean announced the release and dropped new single ‘Yes’.
While there was speculation that Kanye West – who Big Sean has been feuding with recently – was responsible for the leak, Sean defended his former mentor, who signed him to his G.O.O.D. Music label, an imprint of Def Jam Recordings, in 2007.
He on Instagram Live: “I know he ain’t do that s***. I love Ye. Without him, there would be no me. I’ve been there since ‘Graduation’. I got to study and contribute, you know, give energy to every project… I know he wouldn’t do that. That’s trash. I know he wouldn’t do no s*** like that. To whoever did do that, just know it did f*** me up.”
He then walked into a hallway covered in his plaques and said: “You see this plaque right here? That’s 185 million records sold under G.O.O.D. Music! I love G.O.O.D. Music. S***, they made more money off of my music than I did.”
Sean left the label in 2021 in order to secure himself “a bigger cut” of the profits.
When a fan asked him on Twitter (now X): “Damn no more GOOD Music for Big Sean?”, he replied: “That’s a forever brotherhood, but business wise, I had to start getting a bigger cut! I worked my way out that deal.”

Britney Spears’ Halsey blessing

OHMYGOSSIP — Halsey received Britney Spears’ “blessing” to sample her track ‘Lucky’.
The ‘Without Me’ hitmaker has sampled the 2000 classic from Britney’s hit album ‘Oops!… I Did It Again’.. on a song of the same name and insisted they never would have used the single without Britney’s permission.
When asked on X about Britney’s involvement in getting the sample cleared, Halsey wrote: “Yes of course! I wouldn’t even dream of doing it without her blessing!”
Halsey previously shared how much Britney meant to them growing up and how important the song was to them.
Alongside a picture of them wearing a shirt with “lucky” emblazed across it, Halsey wrote on Instagram: “When I was 5, it always felt like Britney was singing directly to me. 24 years later, these words hit different. love you forever (sic)”
The 29-year-old singer had been teasing fans by posting pictures and fake magazine covers of them pretending to be a troubled pop star, like Britney, 42.
Halsey recently shared the emotional single ‘The End’, while revealing they are suffering from Lupus and a rare lymphoproliferative disorder.
The ‘Him and I’ singer – born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane and who uses she/they pronouns – took to Instagram last month to tell fans of their struggle with serious medical issues ahead of the release of the record but did not specify which conditions.
They later updated fans in a thank you note for their support on Instagram by detailing what conditions they have been fighting.
Referencing the release their new song, Halsey said: “Thank you guys for the unbelievable amount of love for ‘The End’ and the support you’ve shown me since its release.
“I know everyone is catching up with news I’ve held in for a very long time, and I wasn’t sure how much I wanted to share.
“You’ve all been so kind so I want to share a bit more. In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. “Both of which are currently being managed or in remission; and both of which I will likely have for the duration of my life.
“After a rocky start, I slowly got everything under control with the help of amazing doctors.
“After two years, I’m feeling better and I’m more grateful than ever to have music to turn to.
“I can’t wait to get back where I belong: With you all (grey heart emoji) Singing and screaming my heart out.”

‘It’s tearing our society apart’: Fran Healy slams social media

OHMYGOSSIP — Fran Healy believes social media is “tearing our society apart”.
The Travis frontman has taken aim at influencers and the online world in the group’s new song ‘I Hope That You Spontaneously Combust’ – which features on their latest album ‘LA Times’ – and admitted he is “irritated” at the way the world has shifted so people don’t interact with one another in the same way anymore and consume damaging images and information via the internet.
He told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper’s Wired column: “This song is me getting irritated.
“In California – where nobody talks to each other and just look at each other through glass – they invented this amazing thing that is tearing our society apart.
“Look at our kids, especially our girls, and the damage it does. And look at the blind eye the tech companies are turning en masse…
“Social media has created this other universe where it’s perfectly fine to swear and it’s a trough and horrible.
“The trough is spilling out into the real world and people are interacting one-to-one like that.
“Make it more about fluffy rabbits and cats again, not making kids kill themselves. So all those people can just f*** off.”
The ‘Driftwood’ hitmaker thinks social media should be more tightly restricted when it comes to young people accessing content.
Fran – who lives in the US – added: “Now in LA, all the public schools in the district voted to not allow anyone to bring cell phones to school.
“That’s like a big thing and now they are talking about stickers or warnings on social media sites.
“You’re not allowed to smoke until you’re 18 in America, but you’re giving these absolutely destructive things covered in stars, bright colours and happy faces to 13-year-old kids who have no idea and learning socialisation on those things, and ripping their minds apart. Kids are killing themselves.”

Jack White releases surprise new album to shoppers

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack White has surprise released a new album – by secretly giving copies to shoppers in his Third Man Records stores.
The 49-year-old musician appeared to have given selected music fans a treat by tucking vinyl copies of his latest project in amongst their purchases at the London, Nashville and Detroit branches of his retail chain on Friday (19.07.24).
The record sleeve bears no information about its contents, with a plain label simply reading ‘No Name’.
Third Man Records later shared an image of the album on their Instagram Story, urging fans to: “Rip It.”
Detroit radio station WDET 101.9FM, which is situated across the street from the Detroit Third Man store, went on to air the record in full, with the show subsequently uploaded online.
It is unclear whether the album will have a wider release, as Jack’s publicist told Rolling Stone he was “as surprised as everyone else” about the new record.
The LP is the former White Stripes star’s first release since 2022, when he released both ‘Fear of the Dawn’ and ‘Entering Heaven Alive’ within a three month period.
The ‘Seven Nation Army’ hitmaker had initially planned a single album, but due to the differing styles, he felt it was best to put out two records.
He explained to the Daily star newspaper’s Wired column: “The idea for a long time was to make a single album.
“That’s the way these albums were conceived. It didn’t matter which band or name I released it under It was already a thing I was doing with the White Stripes, those albums were very varied for just a duo. (But) this time it didn’t go as planned. The soft, melodic songs didn’t go well with heavier pieces. So I started to split them into two titles. It was better to keep them in their own unique little universe.”

Fontaines D.C. frontman Grian Chatten ‘always hated’ his voice

OHMYGOSSIP — Fontaines D.C. frontman Grian Chatten “always hated” his voice.
The 29-year-old Irish singer admits making his debut solo record, 2023’s ‘Chaos For The Fly’, gave him the chance to “lean into” his character more and he came away liking his vocals “for the first time in my life”.
Asked if it impacted the ‘Starburster’ group’s upcoming fourth studio LP ‘Romance’, he told MOJO magazine: “I got a fair bit of confidence with arranging strings and brass, trying out different styles. Vocally, I probably learnt to lean into my own character a bit more. I love my own voice now for the first time in my life. I always hated it, really. And maybe because of that solo record I understand what makes it potentially interesting.”
The post-punk group have been experimenting with the atmosphere and visuals for their follow-up to 2022’s ‘Skinty Fia’ and have been “embracing the risk” that people might not connect with it.
He explained: “There’s nothing better for establishing the sense of creative freedom than embracing the risk that people might not like what you’re doing at the moment. That’s f*****’ exhilarating, in a way.
So it’s just another creative outlet. We’ve got a lot to say in terms of the atmosphere and the mood of the record, and I think it’d be a shame if we just walked out and didn’t commit to the theatre that we created there.”
‘Romance’ is released on August 23.

As with his last tour, the shows will be phone-free, with fans set to be asked to put their mobiles in secure pouches that automatically shut when in the venue – and unlocks when outside the halls.

His hits have been covered by everyone from Jimi Hendrix, whose ‘All Along the Watchtower’ is considered a seminal version of the track, along with The Rolling Stones, The Byrds, Joan Baez and Adele.
The Royal Albert Hall has a key place in Dylanology, with a 1966 live recording called ‘The Royal Albert Hall Concert’ marking the moment he was hit with heckles after “going electric” to the jeers of the crowd – with one shouting he was a “Judas”.
Despite the name of the record, it was actually recorded at Manchester Free Trade Hall – but has retained its title and been released as part of the Bob ‘Bootleg’ series.
Dylan’s stage time for the 2024 Royal Albert Hall concerts will be 8pm, and 7.30pm at all other venues.

Jelly Roll provides official theme songs for WWE SummerSlam and teases performance

OHMYGOSSIP — Jelly Roll will provide the official theme songs for ‘WWE SummerSlam’ and appears set to perform at the event.
The ‘Save Me’ hitmaker will have two tracks – ‘Dead End Road’ from ‘Twisters: The Album’ and ‘Liar’ from his upcoming record – connected to the huge show at the Cleveland Browns Stadium on August 3 in Cleveland, Ohio.
WWE boss Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Excited to have my friend Jelly Roll back with two official #SummerSlam theme songs: ‘Dead End Road’ off Twisters: The Album, and ‘Liar’ off his album coming this fall.
“Btw, @JellyRoll615 – let me know if you’re free on Aug. 3 to play a few songs for the @WWEUniverse.”
It didn’t take long for the 39-year-old musician to respond, and it seems like he will be there in person next month.
He replied: “Sounds like a good time to me, Bubba! I’ll have my people call your people!”
He has worked with WWE before with appearances in his hometown of Nashville, including in November 2023 when he got involved in a match between Randy Orton and Dominik Mysterio.
Back in the music world, he recently collaborated with Eminem on ‘Somebody Save Me’, which uses the chorus from his own track ‘Save Me’ and serves as the closer on the hip hop icon’s new album ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace)’.
After the LP dropped on Friday (12.07.24), he wrote on Instagram: “As a teenager (and still today) I could recite every song on the ‘Slim Shady’ album, the ‘Marshall Mathers’ album and ‘The Eminem Show’.
“When I bonded out of jail at 17 years old and was sneaking into cyphers and battles in Nashville they would also play the ‘Lose Yourself’ beat when I came out on stage at the freestyle battles…
“I related to every word Eminem wrote. I understand him and felt like he understood me, which was rare cause I spent most of my life feeling misunderstood.”

Metallica’s Black Album becomes 4th album in history to mark huge chart milestone

OHMYGOSSIP — Metallica’s “Black Album” has become the fourth album in history to spend 750 weeks on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
The heavy metal outfit’s self-titled fifth studio album, which was released in 1991 and has become commonly known as “The Black Album”, has followed in the footsteps of the likes of Pink Floyd’s legendary record ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’, which has amassed a staggering 990 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart.
Bob Marley‘s ‘Legend’, which has spent 843 weeks on the Billboard 200, and Journey’s ‘Journey’s Greatest Hits’, at 813 weeks, are the only other records to have achieved the feat.
A post on Billboard Charts’ X account read: “@Metallica’s ‘Metallica’ has now spent 750 total weeks on the #Billboard200 (No. 178 this week).
“It’s the fourth album in history to reach the milestone, after @pinkfloyd’s ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ (990 total weeks), @bobmarley’s ‘Legend’ (843) and @JourneyOfficial’s ‘Journey’s Greatest Hits’ (813).”
Metallica’s Black Album produced five singles – ‘Enter Sandman’, ‘The Unforgiven’, ‘Nothing Else Matters’, ‘Wherever I May Roam’, and ‘Sad But True’.
What’s more, in 2019, the record became the fourth album to hit the 550-week milestone on the Billboard 200.
In May, Metallica’s James Hetfield told how he had been busy penning new music, and revealed he had been inspired by Sir Elton John.
Speaking on ‘The Metallica Report’ podcast, he spilled: “The time off has been pretty fantastic but, at the same time, I missed playing with the guys. And I let them know, ‘Man, I miss jamming with you guys!’
“We’ve done a few things here and there.
“The Elton John thing [covering Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding on TV in April] was so fantastic. Had a blast there. Elton, what a beautiful soul.
“[I’ve] been doing some skiing, getting up on the mountain – there’s been tons of snow in Colorado, where we’re at, so a good snow season – and writing loads of music.
“[I’ve been] playing guitar pretty much every day. I have to. It’s like breathing.”

Eagles extend Sphere residency due to ‘overwhelming demand’

OHMYGOSSIP — Eagles have extended their Las Vegas residency at the state-of-the-art Sphere until January 2025.
The ‘Get Over It’ rockers have set 20 shows between September 20 and January 25, due to “overwhelming demand”.
Tickets are priced from $175.
Don Henley and co’s Sphere residency follows those by U2, Phish, and Dead and Company.
Veteran rockers U2 played 40 gigs at the futuristic venue with the run coming to an end in March.
Last summer, founding member Randy Meisner sadly passed away aged 77, following a long period of ill health.
The bassist – who formed the band in the early 1970s alongside Don, Don Felder, Glenn Frey, and Bernie Leadon – passed away due to complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
The band said in a statement shared to their website: “The Eagles are sad to report that founding member, bassist, and vocalist, Randy Meisner, passed away last night (July 26) in Los Angeles at age 77, due to complications from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease (COPD).
“As the original bass player for the pioneering country-rock group, Poco, Randy was at the forefront of the musical revolution that began in Los Angeles, in the late 1960s…
“Randy was an integral part of the Eagles and instrumental in the early success of the band. His vocal range was astonishing, as is evident on his signature ballad, ‘Take It to the Limit’.”
Randy quit the band in 1977 and was replaced by Timothy B. Schmit, the same person who had taken on bass playing duties when the musician had left his previous group Poco. He went on to release a number of solo albums, including a self-titled record in 1978 and ‘One More Song’ in 1980.
Although he wasn’t part of the ‘Desperado’ hitmakers’ reunion tour in 1994, he appeared beside his former bandmates in 1998 when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in New York, where they performed ‘Hotel California’ and ‘Take It Easy’.
He was invited to take part in the ‘History of the Eagles’ world tour in 2013 but had to decline due to his health issues.

Rita Ora teases 2025 tour: ‘It’s the only reason I put music out’

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora is “definitely touring” in 2025.
The ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ hitmaker is gearing up to release her follow-up to 2023’s ‘You and I’ sometime next year and is counting down the days until she is back out on the road, dubbing it her “favourite part” of her music career.
Rita told a US outlet, via The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I’m definitely touring with this new record that I’m going to put out next year. I wanted to change it up. All the festivals I’ve been doing this summer have been so much fun.
“Getting to perform live is my favourite part. I hate the studio. I love seeing the crowd and I really connect with the energy. The tour is the only reason I put music out.”
Last month, Rita admitted she is taking the record “one song at a time”.
The 33-year-old singer told Bizarre: “The album is going really well. I’m taking it just one song at a time to be honest.
“I’m not sure it will be ready for this year though. But the great thing about my label [BMG] is that I have the time and they are really chill like that.”
She has still been treating fans to new material, having recently dropped the singles ‘Ask And You Shall Receive’ and ‘Love Ain’t It’, with Brandy and Kylie Cantrall, from the movie ‘Descendants: The Rise Of Red’.
Her latest album, ‘You And I’, was heavily inspired by her relationship with Hollywood star Taika Waititi and their 2022 wedding.
However, she wants to move on from that as her source of inspiration, and instead find a different spark for her music.
She explained: “I’m a bit bored of that now [as inspiration].
“I want my music to move on, have fun and do what makes me feel good.
“If it doesn’t make me feel good, I’m not doing it, and I’ve found that very liberating.”

Adele to take ‘big break’ from music

OHMYGOSSIP — Adele has no plans to release new music anytime soon as she prepares to take a “big break”.
Following the conclusion of her Las Vegas residency in November, the 36-year-old superstar is planning to take things easy and spend quality time with her sports agent partner Rich Paul, 42, and her 11-year-old son Angelo – whom she has with ex-spouse Simon Konecki.
The ‘Hello’ hitmaker has a Germany residency in Munich this summer and told German outlet ZDF: “I don’t have any plans for new music, at all.
“I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
Adele has made no secret of the fact that she is also keen to have another baby.
The ‘I Set Fire To The Rain’ hitmaker previously confessed she is a long way off from returning to the studio to work on a follow-up to 2021’s ’30’, however, the Grammy winner, who suffers from anxiety performing in front of massive crowds, promised that when she does return with a new record, she will do a world tour.
She told gig-goers at her ‘Weekends With Adele’ Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace earlier this year: “I just don’t think I’m gonna write an album for quite some time.
“But next time I do, I’ll come to wherever it is you live.”
The singer extended her Sin City residency and reflected on how performing and having intimate interactions with her fans has helped her “reconnect” with her music.
She posted to X last year: “I needed to reconnect with my songs and remember what they mean to me, and I have!
“Being on stage over the last year so up close and personal with an audience again after all these years has been a truly extraordinary restorative experience that I’ll never forget. All the hilarious, soulful, wild and heartbreaking interactions we’ve had are banked in my mind for life. The looks on your faces, seeing you laugh and cry together singing your hearts out and hoarding bags of confetti. All the simi dolls, friendship bracelets, flowers, facetime calls and flags. It’s crazy how joyful a show full of sad songs can be!!”
The ‘Chasing Pavements’ singer also explained why she started disappearing from the limelight for long periods before releasing a new album.
She said: “Sometimes I wonder if people think I’m calculated when I disappear for years on end and I’m elusive and I believe that less is more or something like that.
But the real reason that I’ve only had four albums and I don’t think that many people know this – they know that I have a child – my son is 11 years old. So if you do the math, that means that at the height of ‘21’… I fell pregnant. To many that would be, and it was, considered career suicide.
“It was there and then that I chose to reject the scarcity of success, and the idea that you have to be constantly relevant to be successful.
“And that perhaps, just maybe, I could be a hit both on and off the stage. And you’ll never guess what — I [redacted] got away with it!”

Missy Elliot’s song sent into outer space

OHMYGOSSIP — Missy Elliott’s debut solo single ‘The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)’ has been set into outer space.
NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California used their Deep Space Network to transmit the song 158million miles from Earth to Venus at the speed of light, taking just 14 minutes to land.
The ‘Get Ur Freak On’ rapper posted to X: “YOOO this is crazy! We just went #OutOfThisWorld with NASA and sent the FIRST hip hop song into space through the Deep Space Network.
“My song ‘The Rain’ has officially been transmitted all the way to Venus, the planet that symbolizes strength, beauty, and empowerment. The sky is not the limit, it’s just the beginning.”
Brittany Brown, Digital and Technology Division Director at NASA’s Office of Communications, told Pitchfork: “Both space exploration and Missy Elliott’s art have been about pushing boundaries. Missy has a track record of infusing space-centric storytelling and futuristic visuals in her music videos, so the opportunity to collaborate on something out of this world is truly fitting.”
It’s been a period of firsts for the hip-hop legend as before having a song transmitted into space, Missy become the first female rapper inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, something she always felt “seemed so far out of reach.”
Appearing on ‘Good Morning America’ ahead of the ceremony last year, she said: “Words cannot describe.
“It just hasn’t clicked.”
The 53-year-old superstar admitted she owes everything to the women who came before her, including Queen Latifah, 54.
She said of her fellow rapper: “She’s somebody that, like I said, ‘come before me, open that door, left it open.’
“And I owe so many flowers, bouquets. It’s not enough bouquets for those women that came before me. And she’s one of those women.”
The ‘Lose Control’ hitmaker said rock and roll is like hip-hop, in that it incorporates many other genres.
She explained: “Rock and Roll to me is a gumbo of different styles of music.
“I think we get this thing where, rock and roll, you gotta have a guitar. It’s like saying hip-hop is just rap when we have incorporated jazz, we have incorporated blues.”
Other inductees included Rage Against The Machine, Kate Bush, The Spinners, the late George Michael, and Bernie Taupin.

Westlife used AI to release new single entirely in Mandarin

OHMYGOSSIP — Westlife has used artificial intelligence to release a song entirely in Mandarin.
The ‘Flying With Out Wings’ boy band have embraced AI in a bid to make it in China, and they have worked on a cover of Jason Zhang’s 2016 hit ‘Love + Courage’ using teaching software Kogou AIK.
They said in a statement; “The fan response from us singing ‘The Ordinary Road’ in Mandarin was truly overwhelming and this just felt like it could be another fun thing to do for our Chinese fans.
“It took months to get it right as we wanted it to be the perfect reflection of our voices and we are thrilled with the final version.
“It’s hugely exciting. We are delighted it is one of Jason Zhang’s songs as we performed with him on a previous tour. We hope our Chinese fans love it!”
The quartet – made up of Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan – didn’t actually sing on the track, which was created using the world’s first multilingual AI singing technology to sound like them.
However, they were still heavily involved in the creative process, which resulted in the song being streamed more than a million times in its first week.
Tencent Music Entertainment added: “Since the release of their album Wild Dreams in 2021, Westlife have continued to deepen their connection with China and Tencent Music Entertainment.
“In 2022, Westlife took their love for their Chinese fans to new heights by deeply participating in Tencent Music Entertainment Group’s annual non-profit programme If Music Has a Shape, demonstrating their love for their Chinese fans through the campaign.
“This ongoing mutual dedication is why we have chosen Westlife as the first international artist to collaborate with to release AI music.
“We hope to use AI technology to bring Westlife ‘a bit closer’ to their fans in China.
“This aligns perfectly with Tencent Music Entertainment’s corporate mission of ‘creating endless possibilities with music and technology.'”

Coldplay planning 10-night Wembley residency?

OHMYGOSSIP — Coldplay are planning a 10-night residency at Wembley Stadium.
The ‘Viva La Vida’ group are preparing to release their new album ‘Moon Music’ in October but rather than embark on a traditional tour to support the release, they are exploring alternative options in order to help reduce their carbon footprint, which could be done by keeping their stage production in one place.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Coldplay want to do something super special for ‘Moon Music’ and they have discussed the idea of doing a set residency rather than touring across the UK.
“Wembley has been mooted as a possible location which would work for a ten-date residency, for example.
“It means they would be able to play to almost a million fans, all while keeping down their carbon footprint.
“On their last tour the band went all out to try to reduce the impact of their work on the environment.
“By keeping the shows in one place they are removing the need for HGVs to drive the stages and kit across the country, for example.
“Plus seeing acts like Adele setting up shop in one place has given them real food for thought.
“Nothing is set in stone yet but they hope they can get a residency to work.”
Last month, the ‘Yellow’ hitmakers revealed that the first two years of their ongoing ‘Music of Spheres’ world tour had seen a 59% reduction in carbon emissions compared to their concert series in 2016-17.
To reduce their environmental impact, the band – which includes Chris Martin, Will Champion, Guy Berryman and Jonny Buckland – cut down on air travel, used sustainable materials for their stages and employed more efficient lighting. They also designed kinetic dancefloors, which meant fans could help generate electricity with their movements.

“But we’re grateful for everyone’s help so far and we salute everyone who’s making efforts to push things in the right direction.”
