OHMYGOSSIP — Faye Tozer never imagined Steps would reform.
The 46-year-old singer shot to fame in the pop group alongside Claire Richards,44, Lee Latchford-Evans, 46, Lisa Scott-Lee, 46, and Ian ‘H’ Watkins, 45 in the late 1990s before they suffered an acrimonious split in 2001, but have since launched a successful comeback with a string of new albums and tours.
She said: “No, I’d closed the door on [the idea of a reunion]. When we got back together in 2011, it was quite cathartic to ask ‘what did happen’, because it all happened so quickly for us. But we’ve been together now longer than we were originally. We’re in a great place and still selling out arenas, which is bonkers 24 years into the band.”
The pop star went on to claim that a “lack of communication” was behind their infamous split, which saw members Claire and H resign from the band shortly before they took to the stage for a concert, but also described the fall out as the band’s “saving grace.”
When asked about the reason behind the split, she said: “Claire and H resigned. There was a lack of communication in those days. We were such young people and probably burnt out by such a heavy schedule. In hindsight, the break-up has been our saving grace. We wouldn’t be here today if that hadn’t happened. We couldn’t have kept going happily for 24 years – we needed to figure out who we were as people.”
Steps – who scored hits such as ‘Tragedy’ and ‘One For Sorrow’ during their heyday – have recently completed their 10th tour, which was in support of their sixth and seventh albums ‘What the Future Holds Part 1’ and ‘Part 2’.
Faye – who has also carved out a career in musical theatre and was runner-up on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2018 – went on to promise fans that Steps will continue as long as the “demand is there”.
She told The Metro Newspaper: “What is nice is that we do it for a bit, then go off and do our separate projects and then come back together again. We’ve got an incredibly loyal fanbase and we’re going to keep going if the demand is there.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Cliff Richard doesn’t eat before gigs to avoid on-stage wind.
The 81-year-old music legend admitted that he avoids eating before a concert after discovering that the need to burp made things “uncomfortable” during his performances.
He said: “I don’t eat anything before I go on stage because I discovered years ago that if I ate before a show I spent a lot of time burping. It’s uncomfortable waiting to have that burp happen and trying to find a gap in the song to do it. So now I don’t eat anything. I just have some soup maybe before the show starts, but I eat after the show.”
The ‘Living Doll’ hitmaker then explained that once he has finished performing, he spends his time trying to find a restaurant that will stay open.
He is quoted by The Daily Star as saying: “So it means sometimes running off to try to get to a restaurant that will stay open for you that long or that late.”
But despite having performed hundreds of concerts during his 60 year career, Cliff admitted that he is at his happiest in the recording studio due to the “pressure” that comes with playing to a crowd.
He said: “In terms of my career the happiest I feel is when I’m recording. And the reason is very simple – there is no pressure. I’ve done it in the past. I’ve phoned the producer and said, ‘Look I’ve got a tickle in my throat’. He says, ‘Take a couple of days off. I’ll get the drummer in to do something then you can start singing again’.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles will release his latest album early next year.
The 27-year-old star is set to drop his third solo album before the end of March 2022, according to Sony Music CEO Rob Stringer.
Harry’s last album was 2019’s ‘Fine Line’ and since then he has gone on to film the movies, ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ and ‘My Policeman’, along with a post-credits scene for Marvel’s ‘Eternals’.
Harry has reportedly been working on the new album since early 2020, with a source previously telling The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Harry started working on the album in early 2020 and had a few writing sessions under his belt before the pandemic really took hold.
“As a result plans were put on ice but most of the record ended up being recorded in the UK.
“Right now exact details are top secret but the track listing should be decided soon.
“Harry is really excited about the album.”
The star recently completed his 42-date ‘Love on Tour’ shows in the US and hinted to fans that he would be back “very soon”.
He tweeted: “Thank you for 42 special nights. It’s been a privilege to play for you the last few months. To the band, the crew, and everyone working on this tour, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. The energy you brought to this one has left me feeling completely overwhelmed with joy.
“To the fans, and everyone who came to see these shows, I thank you. You made them everything they were, and I’ve never felt so genuinely supported. I can’t say it enough, you’re unbelievable.

OHMYGOSSIP — Cheryl Tweedy will release new music “when the time is right”.
The 38-year-old singer has not released a single since 2019’s ‘Let You’ but although their was recent speculation that she had been dropped by her record label, insiders claim she is not planning to quit music just yet.
A source told MailOnline: “Cheryl has not made that decision at all. She is still signed to Universal and they are open to more Cheryl music when the time is right.
“There are always music conversations going on. She has not left the label and they still have a business deal together.
“Cheryl’s music still does well for Universal. She still has over a million monthly listeners on Spotify despite not even releasing a new song in two and a half years.”
Meanwhile, Cheryl recently revealed she cancelled her ‘You, Me & R&B’ podcast for the BBC because it “didn’t feel right” to “revisit” it following the passing of her Girls Aloud bandmate Sarah Harding.
The series for Radio 2 was set to be 12-episodes long with the singer discussing her passion for music.
However, she took a break from recording the podcast in the summer and after Sarah lost her battle with cancer in September, at the age of 39, now she doesn’t feel it’s appropriate for her to share the series.
The ‘Fight For This Love’ hitmaker told fans on her Instagram Stories: “It was to be recorded around the same time as Sarah’s passing. I took a break from everything then, including the series, and it just didn’t feel right to revisit it again…
“Thank you again for all of your love and support these past couple months.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Adele has been nominated for four BRIT Awards.
The London-born star has been nominated in the Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Best pop/R&B categories after releasing her new album ’30’ in November.
Adele, 33, is joined on four nominations by Dave, Ed Sheeran, and Little Simz.
Dave is in contention for the Best hip-hop/grime/rap, Song of the Year, Artist of the Year and Album of the Year gongs.
Ed, 30 – who released ‘=’ in October – has also been nominated for the Album of the Year, Artist of the Year and Song of the Year accolades, as well as the Best pop/R&B gong.
Little Simz is up for the Best hip-hop/grime/rap, Album of the Year, Artist of the Year and Best New Artist awards.
Meanwhile, the Best International Artist accolade will be contested by Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift.
Olivia, 18 – who released her debut album, ‘SOUR’, in May – has enjoyed a meteoric rise this year, and she’s also been nominated for the Best International Song award.
Elsewhere, the Best International Group gong will go to one of Abba, BTS, Maneskin – who won the Eurovision Song Contest earlier this year – Silk Sonic and War On Drugs.
Holly Humberstone has already been announced as the winner of the coveted Rising Star award, following in the footsteps of artists such as Adele and Sam Smith.
The upcoming ceremony will feature a new selection of gender-neutral categories, after the organisers decided to scrap the best male and female categories and create a broader group of nominees.
The event will be hosted by Maya Jama, Mo Gilligan and Clara Amfo, and will be staged at The O2 Arena in London on February 8.

OHMYGOSSIP — Evanescence have postponed their remaining tour dates.
The ‘Bring Me To Life’ hitmakers had been due to play five more US dates in Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Newark, Camden and Worcester with Halestorm this month, but have told fans they will now not take place until January after “multiple” members of their crew tested positive for coronavirus.
Singer Amy Lee said in a statement: “We’ve done everything we could to try and make it work but with multiple positive Covid tests in our touring party it just wouldn’t be right to continue the show schedule as is.
“All the bands and crew have been so diligent with every precaution to keep this from happening but this virus is a real bitch! We are all vaccinated and nobody’s symptoms are severe, we are very grateful for that.
“This tour has been an unforgettable experience that we are so proud of. From the production, to our fantastic crew, to Halestorm and Lilith Czar and Plush- and most of all, to you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to you incredible fans for making this dream a reality, and making it mean so much more that we ever imagined it could. Thank you for your understanding. We love you!”
The group had initially announced last weekend their Cincinnati show would be delayed from 12 December to 20 December, but have now moved all of their final shows.
In their original statement last week, the group urged fans to take measures to slow the spread of the virus.
They said: “Even when you have every precaution in place, you can still get and transmit this virus. Grateful we are all vaccinated and nobody’s symptoms are severe. Please be smart and stay safe this season, get the vax, wear a mask, care for one another. We will get through this together.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Eric Clapton has successfully sued a woman who was selling a bootleg CD for just £8.45.
The 76-year-old actor had taken legal action against a 55-year-old German woman identified only as Gabriele P, who had claimed she was unaware she was committing copyright infringement by listing ‘Eric Clapton – Live USA’ – which contained recordings of performances from the 1980s – on auction site eBay.
Lawyers in Germany had sent a letter to the woman about the listing, and she had replied: “I object and ask you not to harass or contact me any further. Feel free to file a lawsuit if you insist on the demands.”
An injunction was filed and the court found in the ‘Wonderful Tonight’ hitmaker’s favour, with the woman then appealing the verdict, stating she had removed the listing after one day and that her late husband had originally bought the CD in 197 at a popular German department store.
Gabriele lost her appeal, with the judge insisting it was irrelevant she didn’t buy the CD herself. The court ordered her to pay both parties’ legal fees, which totalled £2,889 and warned her that if she continued to list the disc for sale, under German copyright law she could be fined up to £212, 353 or jailed for six months.
Michael Eaton, the singer’s manager, said: “Germany is a country where sales of bootleg and counterfeit CDs are rife, which damages the industry and customers with poor quality and misleading recordings.
“Along with a number of other major artists and record companies, over a number of years Eric Clapton has, through German lawyers, successfully pursued hundreds of bootleg cases in the German courts under routine German copyright procedures.
“Costs are usually minimal unless the case is argued in court, which is what happened here as the lady instructed her own lawyers. Now that the full facts of this particular case have come to light, the intention is that the formal German proceedings will not be pursued any further.”
The woman’s lawyer told Bild newspaper that they intend to appeal again.

OHMYGOSSIP — Supergrass have cancelled their remaining gigs for the year because performing would be “the wrong thing to do” amid rising coronavirus cases in the UK.
The ‘Richard III’ hitmakers had been due to perform their first homecoming gig in 12 years at the O2 Academy Oxford on Saturday (18.12.21), followed by a night in Glasgow and a show in London on Monday (20.12.21) but they have confirmed all three dates will now be rescheduled for next year due to “uncertainty” caused by the rise of the new Omicron strain of COVID-19.
They announced in a statement shared to Twitter: “Folks, we’re so sorry but we’re going to have to postpone our December shows. A lot has changed over the last few days with the rise in Omicron cases. It’s been an incredibly tough call to make but we feel to play these shows at this point in time would be the wrong thing to do for all concerned.
“We want to give you all the best show we can, everyone to feel safe and for no fan to lose out at Christmas time due to all the uncertainty at the moment. We’re gutted to have to do this and we hope you all understand.”
Last week, it was announced that attendees at gigs and nightclubs must show proof of full vaccination or provide a negative test result.
But Prime Minister Boris Johnson has insisted there are no plans to close entertainment venues or pubs, but urged the public to think carefully about the events they choose to attend, sparking concern for the hospitality sector as no financial support is available despite dwindling attendances.
Last year, Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes urged the government to help smaller venues survive.
He said of the Emergency Grassroot Music Venues Fund: “Fingers crossed some of this money from the government can go towards correcting things, fixing things, helping these venues out because it’s just so vital.
“It’s really concerning, the main stream pop world is a different beast, I think it comes in at a different level.
“It’s a different approach, but for indie music, or for rock and roll bands and artists, that whole idea of starting out with a group of fans that see you in a small room with 100 people, to share that start of a journey with a band is kind of fundamental, it’s the foundation of live music.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Pink Floyd are to release a restored version of their concert film ‘P.U.L.S.E.’.
The band will drop ‘P.U.L.S.E. Restored & Re-Edited’ on Blu-ray for the first time on 18 February 2022, nearly 27 years after ‘P.U.L.S.E.’ was originally released as an album in May 1995.
The new release will feature the reintroduction of the iconic pulsating light, which was on the original 1995 CD.
Drummer Nick Mason said: “Essentially, it’s a device which we thought was entertaining.
“It’s an idea of Storm Thorgerson’s which related to ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ and the pulse, and it’s a live album so the box is ‘alive’.
“After that, in terms of seriously deep meanings, one might be struggling a bit.”
The ‘P.U.L.S.E.’ concert film has been helmed by director David Mallet, and it will be available as two Blu-ray and two DVD deluxe box sets.
What’s more, the video footage has been re-edited by Aubrey Powell/Hipgnosis, and the cover design – originally created by Storm and Peter Curzon for the 2006 DVD – has been updated with photography by Aubrey Powell/Hipgnosis and Rupert Truman/StormStudios.
Fans can expect the deluxe packages to feature music videos, concert screen films, documentaries, ‘Pulse Tour’ rehearsal footage and much more, as well as a 60-page booklet.
It comes after ‘P.U.L.S.E.’ was released as an album in 1995 after a recording was made on the European leg of Pink Floyd’s ‘Division Bell Tour’ on October 20, 1994, at London’s Earls Court.
Some of the songs performed on the night included ‘High Hopes’, ‘Wish You Were Here’, ‘Comfortably Numb’, ‘Keep Talking’, ‘The Great Gig In The Sky’, and ‘Sorrow’.

The late musician – who played bass for The Roots from 1992 to 2007 – has passed away after a battle with multiple myeloma, which is a rare form of blood cancer he was diagnosed with 14 years ego.
His wife Stephanie confirmed the sad news to the Philadelphia Inquirer, and revealed he had been in remission until last month.
Hubbard had continued to work on more music in recent years, but he was hospitalised on Wednesday night (15.12.21).
He had been working on a new album featuring artists like Jill Scott, Vernon Reid and Ben Harper, which was completed just last week.
Stephanie added: “He wanted to be known for the type of music he was composing.
“And before he died, he was sitting there at night listening to the music, and he was so happy with it.”
Taking to social media, The Roots said in a statement: “It’s with the heaviest of hearts that we say goodbye to our brother Leonard Nelson Hubbard.
“May your transition bring peace to your family to your friends to your fans and all of those who loved you.”
Hubbard joined The Roots just before their debut album ‘Organix’ dropped in 1993, and he went onto play on a number of records such as 1996’s ‘Illadelph Halflife’, 1999’s ‘Things Fall Apart’ and 2004’s ‘The Tipping Point’.
His final LP with the band was ‘Game Theory’ in 2006 as he left the following year, but he had occasional reunions with the group over the years.
In 2016, he sued his former bandmates Black Thought and Questlove as he alleged while his contract with the group made him a co-owner, he wasn’t being compensated as one.
The lawsuit is yet to be settled.

LadBaby were “overcome with emotion” when Sir Elton John sang ‘Sausage Rolls For Everyone’.
The festive comedy hitmakers – made up of married couple Mark and Rox Hoyle – couldn’t believe the “surreal moment” the ‘Rocket Man’ legend joined them on their latest Christmas single, which also featured Ed Sheeran.
Mark told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “It was a surreal moment when we met Elton, and I was overcome with emotion when he started singing because it’s Sir Elton John”
“I went, ‘Oh my God that’s his voice singing about sausage rolls, this is insane! It was a real moment, me and my wife stood there and the whole room went silent.
“And he did it in one take unlike me who had to do it about 40 times. Talking about it just gives me goosebumps.”
He revealed the collaboration was Ed’s idea as he encouraged them to release another single, while Elton through himself into the session.
Mark added: “What a legend, in the morning Elton was getting something above a knighthood at Windsor Castle and then he comes and sings about sausage rolls with us in the afternoon.
“What was quite sweet is we recorded with Elton at his company Rocket and it turned out being the last song recorded there before their move offices.”
LadBaby has raised millions of pounds for the Trussell Trust charity with their previous three festive parodies – ‘We Built This City’, ‘I Love Sausage Rolls’ and ‘Don’t Stop Me Eatin” – all making it to Christmas Number One.
However, LadBaby aren’t concerned about landing a fourth chart topper this year, although he’s worried people won’t stream support the track because they think it’s a done deal.
Mark explained: “The thing I’m most nervous about is there are a lot of people thinking we’ve already done it and that LadBaby is number one because the bookies have us as favourites.
“You often see it on Saturday night TV like ‘X Factor’, ‘Ah, they’re gonna win it’, then nobody votes for them because they think they’re gonna walk it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Damned have postponed their UK tour until late 2022.
The punk legends planned to reunite and head out on the road with their original lineup – including founding members Dave Vanian, Rat Scabies, Captain Sensible and Brian James – in July 2021 after announcing their comeback last year, but now they have delayed the dates due to the pandemic.
In a statement, they said: “As a result of all the current uncertainty surrounding COVID, we have taken the tough decision to postpone the original Damned line-up shows to later in 2022.
“All current tickets are valid for these shows and the support line-up will be as planned.
“We understand that this is disappointing news, but we have to consider putting these shows on in the most Damned-spirited and safest way possible.
“Right now, February just doesn’t feel like the right time to be able to do that. We shall see you all at the end of October 2022.”
Original tickets for the shows will remain valid, while the support acts will also stay the same.
The tour will kick off with the first of two shows at London’s Eventim Apollo on October 28 with Skids and TV Smith and the Bored Teenagers, while The Damned will be back the next night with Wildhearts and Penetration.
The tour resumes at the O2 Apollo in Manchester on November 3, followed by dates at the O2 Academy in Glasgow (November 4) and the O2 Academy in Birmingham (November 5).
For the non-London shows, the support acts will be Penetration, and TV Smith and the Bored Teenagers, with more guests set to be announced.
The tour will see the ‘New Rose’ legends play tracks from their first two albums – ‘Damned Damned Damned’ and ‘Music For Pleasure’, both released in 1977 – plus b-sides and covers that the original line-up played at the time.

OHMYGOSSIP — George Ezra has learned how to cut loose.
The 28-year-old star – who has been open about his struggles with anxiety and OCD in the past – revealed he is ready to “turn it up a gear” as his mindset has changed due to the pandemic.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper’s Guilty Pleasures column, he said: “I’m having a lot of fun at the moment and I feel like, let’s turn it up a gear.
“Having missed out – all of us having missed people, experiences – it’s just, lean into them, now knowing what it feels like without them. When opportunities arrive, grab them.”
The ‘Blame It On Me’ singer admitted he is in a different place than he was when he was promoting his 2018 album ‘Staying At Tamara’s’.
He added: “I ended the last album wired, I was quite wound up. I was an uptight person, which I had never been before. It was an idea of control – and lack thereof.”
However, lockdown gave him time to sit back and reflect on his career thus far, and the success he’s achieved.
He said: “I’ve only ever known this thing as being full-on, all-consuming madness. At this point though – I don’t want my manager to hear this – I’m up for it.
“I feel so fortunate with the conversations going on. We’re talking about future shows and different artworks and what a show might look like.
“I don’t know what it is that’s changed in me, but something has. I go, ‘This is real life, this is what you get to talk about’. It’s a really beautiful thing to wake up and be involved in something creative.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bastille frontman Dan Smith has been working with Lewis Capaldi on his new album.
The ‘Pompeii’ hitmaker – whose band took the ‘Someone You Loved’ singer on tour in 2019 – has been writing with the 25-year-old star on new material, and he’s excited to see what Lewis does next.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I did some writing with him and it was really great to see him.
“Obviously he has had the most amazing time and I think he is just taking his time writing lots of music and living his life.
“We f****** love Lewis and we’re so proud of everything he’s done all over the world. It’s exciting to see what he’s going to do next.”
Dan has also been writing a track with Rihanna in mind, but he doesn’t think the ‘Diamond’ star will end up using it.
He added: “I imagine with that project, they heard and work on so much music and will just know when it’s right.
“There was a minute last year where I thought I’d done it. But I don’t think it’s happened.”
Meanwhile, Dan and his bandmates Kyle Simmons, Will Farquarson and Chris Wood have an MTV Unplugged special set to air at 9pm on December 3, and as well as teasing some guest performers for the show – which was filmed weeks ago – he opened up on what fans can expect.
He said: “We saw it as a new challenge and tried to nod to each album that we’ve made, the mixtapes and some covers.
“The whole thing made us think about the music we will be making in the future. We’re about to release an album [‘Give Me The Future’ in February 2022] which is very electronic, thinking about the future and technology.
“So in and amongst that, to have this two-week break – to go in the opposite direction and only play acoustic instruments – was an interesting counterpoint to everything we’ve been up to.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora has collaborated with Sean Paul on a reggae track.
The 31-year-old pop singer has recorded an “unconventional” reggae song with the dancehall star, and Sean revealed that she sounds “dope” on the track.
He told The Sun newspaper: “We recorded a reggae song together. It is unconventional for her to do – I have never heard her on a reggae song before. She sounds dope on it.
“I think it would really make a difference if we released it one day. It’s not on my next album but I do hope we can put it out. For me a reggae song like that is a classic, especially with someone who is that big in the pop world who has never done reggae before. She killed it.”
Rita hasn’t released an album since 2018’s ‘Phoenix’, but she admitted during lockdown that music has “always been [her] escape”.
She shared: “I’m definitely all about making music at the moment and I’ve been like that for a long time. I can’t wait to put out another album and go on tour, I love performing live, it’s my favourite part of the job.”
Rita also explained that she’s evolved as an artist during the course of her career.
She said: “You creatively evolve, you start wondering and feeling different things, that’s what you want to portray. I’m definitely not where I was at when I put out ‘Ora’, I’ve grown into myself as a woman.
“People have their own vision of what pop music is, it’s a very vague thing. Pop music can be anything right now, it could be hip-hop, urban, it’s such a big, vast description of a genre. I’ve always thought pop was music that made me feel great, happy, and takes me out of myself. I try and make people feel good when they listen to music, that’s what it’s about.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher has revealed he was approached about a musical solely about himself.
The 54-year-old rocker has previously revealed it’s likely a musical about his and his estranged arch-nemesis brother and former bandmate Liam Gallagher’s iconic band Oasis will see the light of day, but he’s now revealed he’s been suggested one all about himself.
He told his friend Matt Morgan on YouTube: “The idea of a musical has been floated to me on more than one occasion.
“An Oasis musical and one about me. Somebody had an idea of like a Noel Gallagher one called ‘Everybody Is On The Run’ and then there was an idea for an Oasis one.”
The ‘Some Might Say’ hitmaker – who has daughter Anais, 21, with ex-wife Meg Matthews, and sons Donovan, 14, and Sonny, 11, with current spouse Sara MacDonald – then discussed his 10-year solo career with High Flying Birds, but admitted he is more proud of his youngest son.
He told his comedian pal: “My solo career is 10 years old, which is the same age as my son.
“I would have to say I am most proud of my son, as they both give me an extraordinary amount of joy. I have to say my son.”
He joked: “I really mean my career, but I am going to have to say my son.”
Noel continued: “I would not say I am proud of my career but I am proud of Sonny boy though.
“I am not proud of what I do as I expect it to be great and I move on to the next thing.
“I don’t stand there saying: ‘Isn’t this wonderful?’”
In 2019, the ‘Slide Away’ songwriter and guitarist revealed he had been approached by producers who want to put together a stage show based on his and Liam’s rise to fame with Oasis and Noel even admitted he will go and see it when it finally gets made.
He said: “The musical! People have been on to me about that for the last 10 years. And funnily enough ‘Live Forever’ is always the title.
“I spoke to an English guy who works on Broadway who knows about these things and he was like saying, ‘Your journey from rags to riches’. And I was like, ‘Do you have to make it so Dickensian? I never wore any rags’. People do love that sh*t, I know. It’s inevitable it will happen one day. I will go and see it once.”
Oasis split in 2009 following backstage bust-up between the feuding siblings at their final concert in Paris.
Both Noel and Liam, 49, have gone on to have successful solo careers.
The former has released three albums with High Flying Birds between 2011 and 2017, and the latter is gearing up to release his third solo effort, ‘C’mon You Know’, next May.
