OHMYGOSSIP — Joey Kramer is taking a “temporary leave of absence” from Aerosmith.
The ‘Crazy’ hitmakers recently confirmed their ‘Deuces Are Wild’ residency is returning to Las Vegas for 24 shows between June and December but they’ve now revealed their drummer won’t be involved in the concert series because he wants to spend more time with his family.
The band said in a statement: “[Kramer] regrettably made the decision to sit out the band’s concerts in 2022 so he can focus his full attention on his family during these uncertain times. He and the band look forward to his future performances with Aerosmith.”
Drum technician Jack Douglas will step in while Joey is away.
This isn’t the first time the drummer has stepped away from the band as in April 2019, he suffered a shoulder injury which left him unable to play.
He asked to rejoin the group for their GrammyWeek MusiCares tribute show but they said no.
The band said in a statement at the time: “Joey Kramer is our brother; his well-being is of paramount importance to us. However, he has not been emotionally and physically able to perform with the band, by his own admission, for the last six months. We have missed him and have encouraged him to rejoin us to play many times but apparently he has not felt ready to do so.”
The move led to Joey filing a lawsuit against the band but he rejoined the group in February 2020.
Frontman Steven Tyler announced the group’s new residency dates earlier this week.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pearl Jam have started work on a new album alongside Justin Bieber’s producer Andrew Watt.
The grunge rockers have recorded some tracks for their 12th studio album – a follow up to 2020’s ‘Gigaton’ – and rhythm guitarist Stone Gossard admitted the group are “psyched” to work with Andrew.
He said: “We’ve recorded some songs. We’re on our way. We’re making music.
“We’re psyched. Andrew is a total character. Really, like immediately, we were writing quickly. Spontaneously. Bring in a riff. Let’s knock it out. [Drummer] Matt Cameron is playing his ass off.”
The ‘Sirens’ hitmakers have been based in Andrew’s Beverly Hills basement as they try out some new tracks.
Stone added to Consequence Of Sound: “We didn’t bring any gear down. We were just doing some recording in Andrew’s basement in Beverly Hills, basically. So far, so good.”
Andrew recently worked with Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder on his solo album ‘Earthling’, and he previously worked with Justin on his record ‘Justice’, which included tracks ‘Anyone’, ‘Hold On’, and ‘Peaches’.
Eddie recently admitted the group were hoping to team up with Andrew, who has also worked on records with the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Post Malone and Miley Cyrus.
Speaking in January, he said: “We’ll make a record with Andrew, I believe. We’ve already talked about it.
“You know, the pandemic came right as we were leaving for a tour on the ‘Gigaton’ record.
“And we had a lot of shows planned.
“Then, in between, I think we’ll be recording, because now we’ve got a healthy ambition to do so.
“I think we’ll move quick for a year or two, then I can see us slowing down for a little bit.
“We have the ability to play better than ever, but also know what we want to maintain the health of the group and want to keep coming back.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mabel wishes “big stars” slid into her DMs for collaborations instead of dates.
The ‘Good Luck’ hitmaker has revealed plenty of A-List stars in the US have been getting in touch on Instagram but they’ve been more flirty than professional.
She told Capital Radio: “I have had some DMs from big stars. There are DMS in the DM place, but sadly they are not always like, ‘Would you like to collab?’
“I’m always like, ‘Let’s make a record bro’, and they’re like, ‘Yeah you didn’t read the room.’
“I always do the ‘bruh’ or the ‘bro’ or just the fist bump [emoji] or ‘mate’ but Americans don’t understand that.”
Although the 26-year-old star is interested in collaborations, she won’t be teaming up with her fellow singer mum Neneh Cherry on any future tracks.
She explained: “I am so proud of what she has accomplished. But for me I was like, ‘I want to prove I can do my own thing’.
“So we’ve kempt it very separate and done very few things together.”
Meanwhile, Mabel admitted she and her mum do share a space for their respective awards, and they decided on the bathroom to keep things “humble” while ensuring everyone will have to see them at some point.
She added: “”We put them in the bathroom because it’s humble. It’s not in your face but also everybody’s got to go to the toilet at some point.
“My mum has her BRITs and some other stuff in the toilet.”
Mabel – whose debut album ‘High Expectations’ came out in the summer of 2019 – previously promised her best music is “yet to come”.
Back in 2020, the star – who has since released hits like ‘Let Them Know’ and ‘Time After Time’ – said: “There’s some cool stuff coming, I’m excited. My best work is yet to come.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nile Rodgers + Chic, Becky Hill and Tom Odell lead the new additions added to the bill for the Concert for Ukraine.
The televised two-hour fundraising event is set to air on March 29 and will see a host of major music stars come together to perform in a bid to raise money for the Disasters Emergency Committee’s (DEC) humanitarian appeal for Ukrainians amid Russia’s invasion.
Nile said: “In times of trouble you can always count on great musical artists to come together to help bring focus on what really matters. At this moment in time nothing is more important than showing the people affected by conflict in Ukraine that we stand with them, that we are family. I’m therefore delighted to be joining Ed Sheeran, Camilla Cabello and all the wonderful artists coming together to make this a success. As we say in our song Everybody Dance, ‘Music never lets you down.’ ”
Welsh rock legends Manic Street Preachers and The Kingdom Choir – who performed at Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s wedding in 2018 – complete the latest lineup announcement.
The choir said: “We stand with all those who are fleeing their homes to escape conflict in Ukraine. As a gospel choir, we sing of love and pray for peace throughout the world. Dr Martin Luther King Jr said: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”. All people of Ukraine deserve to be free from threat and danger.”
Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, Snow Patrol, Emeli Sande, and Gregory Porter were the first performers confirmed to take to the stage at Birmingham’s Resorts World Arena.
Spice Girl Emma Bunton, Capital FM’s Roman Kemp and JLS’ Marvin Humes are set to host the concert.
The live show will be broadcast across ITV, STV, ITV Hub and STV Player.
A press release states: “All sponsorship and advertising revenue generated from the broadcast of the event (primetime across both linear and simulcast), which is expected to raise over £3 million, will also be donated by ITV to the DEC appeal.”
There will be “emotive music performances with short films recognising the ongoing relief efforts and the plight faced by people affected by the conflict in Ukraine.”
Viewers will be encouraged to make donations throughout the evening.
More artists will be added to the bill in the coming days.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran learned Spanish for a batch of new songs with Latin superstar J Balvin.
The ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker and the Colombian reggaeton spent a day in the studio after bonding over lunch and afternoon tea – a British tradition – and fans are set to hear the first two tracks they recorded together, ‘Sigue’ and ‘Forever My Love’, shortly.
Ed tweeted: “I met J Balvin in a gym in New York last year.
“I recognised his voice when he was on the phone so I just went up and said hi.
“We chatted so long we ended up having lunch and then afternoon tea. Then just went to being mates who chatted non-stop.”
The 31-year-old Grammy winner – who previously learned Italian for a version of his song ‘Perfect’ featuring Andrea Bocelli – admitted it was “a proper challenge” getting to grips with the Spanish language.
He added: “I was in New York at Christmas for shows so we decided to have one day in the studio.
“That led to so much more, which you’ll find out about soon.
“But the first two songs we wrote are Sigue and Forever My Love, they are out soon.
“He wanted to bring me into his world, and I wanted to bring him into mine. It was a proper challenge learning Spanish for this.”
The pair have also filmed at least one music video for the songs together.
However, instead of somewhere sunny in Spain, he and the 36-year-old star opted for the French capital in winter.
Speaking at the BRIT Awards in February, Ed said: “I’m getting up at 5.30am to go to Paris tomorrow. I’m shooting a video with J Balvin.”
Ed recently explained that he has planned lots of collaborations for this year because being a solo artist can be a “lonely” experience.
He explained: “This year is actually going to end up being busier than last year, which I’m really excited about. There’s a lot coming out.
“I’ve wanted to span genres. I had a load of people hit me up in different genres, ranging from metal to drill music, and I just said yes to everything. It’s been a really interesting collaborative process.”
The ‘Bad Habits’ hitmaker has plans to work with a number of big-name artists, as he continues to push his own boundaries.
And the ‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker – who has previously collaborated with the likes of Stormzy, Taylor Swift, Bring Me The Horizon and Camila Cabello – admits it’s “quite exciting” to join forces with other musicians.
He added: “It’s quite lonely being a solo artist sometimes and it’s quite exciting, like I did a session this morning at 7am with a guy called Kodak Black who’s from America and after that I did a session with a guy called Kwengface who’s from Peckham.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan Thee Stallion’s record label has countersued the star over ‘Something for Thee Hotties’.
The ‘Sweetest Pie’ hitmaker – whose real name is Megan Pete – had filed a lawsuit against 1501 Certified Entertainment in February, “seeking a declaration that her album, ‘Something for Thee Hotties’ constituted an ‘Album’ as defined in the parties’ recording agreement.”
The record in question was released on October 29, 2021.
The rap megastar claimed she was told on January 5, that the collection was not classed as an album under her recording contract.
Her lawyers said in the filing: “1501’s new position, taken months after the album’s release, is clearly a ruse in an effort to try to take further advantage of Pete, at great expense and not in good faith.”
However, 1501 has since filed a fresh lawsuit claiming the release was “made up of 21 recordings and includes spoken interlude recordings on which MTS does not appear as well as several previously-released recordings.”
The label is arguing that the ‘Savage’ hitmaker is only featured on the whole release for less than 30 minutes and that her contract with them includes a clause which states that for it to constitute an album it “must include at least 12 new master recordings of her studio performances of previously unreleased musical compositions.”
However, Megan’s side insisted she was only told that it would have to be 45 minutes long.
Her lawyer Brad Hancock told TMZ: “This is yet another absurd attempt by 1501 to disregard Megan’s album and squeeze more money and more free work out of her for as long as possible. We will ask the court to protect Megan from this type of abuse.”
The ‘WAP’ hitmaker herself took to Twitter to call out the label for allegedly telling her she doesn’t make enough money for them one minute and wanting to make more money from her the next.
She penned: “First the man over my label said I don’t make him any money … now he counter suing trying to keep me on his label because he wants to make more money lol if I ain’t making you no money why not just drop me? (sic)”
Megan is fed up with being made out to be the “bad guy”.
She fumed: “I choose not to say nothing back abt court and address s*** online but im getting tired of being painted the BAD GUY 2/47 the last girl on 1501 mad at this man too!”
In 2020, Megan accused the label of blocking the release of her new music.
The ‘Hot Girl Summer’ rapper explained that she tried to negotiate aspects of her contract with 1501 after signing a deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation management – who enlightened her to some of the clauses in the deal.
The 27-year-old star insisted she is “not a greedy person” and doesn’t like “confrontation”.
She said at the time: “I’m not a greedy person. I’m not a person that likes confrontation. I’m nice and I’m real family-oriented.”

The ‘Juice’ hitmaker appeared on ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’ on Monday night (21.03.22), where she gave fans a preview of her upcoming single, ‘About Damn Time’, which she teased is set for release on April 14.
After being cheered, she said: “Thank you. It’s out April 14th everywhere, y’all.”
The song is taken from the 33-year-old star’s eagerly-awaited follow-up 2019’s Grammy-winning ‘Cuz I Love You’.
And Lizzo revealed her family always give her their honest opinion of her music, especially her Virgo mother.
She told the host: “They’ll tell me … They will be like ”this ain’t it girl” and if it starts working they will be like ‘this is it’.
“And then I’ll play it for my mama but she is the last to hear it. She’s a Virgo woman and a harsh critic.”
Last month, the singer’s song ‘If You Love Me’ was featured in a Google Pixel 6 Super Bowl commercial.
Meanwhile, Lizzo has just reached a settlement over the songwriting credits for ‘Truth Hurts’.
The ‘Good As Hell’ hitmaker has been locked in a legal battle over the track since 2019 after she was accused of lifting the “melody, lyrics and chords” from a demo titled ‘Healthy’, including one of its most famous lines, “I just took a DNA test, turns out I’m 100% that b****.”
Lizzo denied the allegations and sued brothers Justin and Jeremiah Raisen and Justin ‘Yves’ Rothman over their claims, seeking a “judicial declaration” that the trio “did not co-author” the song and as such “have no right to co-own that work or to share in its profits.”
The writers subsequently countersued Lizzo.
And last week, attorneys for both sides stated the parties had reached a settlement and asked for “dismissal of the entire action without prejudice”.
A federal judge moved to make the dismissal, and although no details of the agreement have been made public, each side will be required to pay their own legal fees, Rolling Stone reported.

OHMYGOSSIP — George Ezra hates collaborating with other artists.
The ‘Anyone For You (Tiger Lily)’ singer – who is gearing up to release his third studio album, ‘Gold Rush Kid’, on June 10 – has no desire to team up with his music peers as he doesn’t think his style of music is made for duets.
He said: “I don’t like collaborating.
“I’ve got no interest in collaborating with other artists, full stop, I don’t want to. It’s not that I don’t like it when other people do it. Sometimes it’s great. I just don’t.”
Speaking about his discussions on his ‘George Ezra and Friends’ podcast, which has seen him interview the likes of Ed Sheeran, Sir Elton John and Sam Smith, he added: “Everyone I interview on the podcast, the thing I hear most is that if a song is written in a session, the production is 80% there by the end of the day.
“I’m more like, ‘Should we do the acoustic version? Yeah let’s do that and live with it for a few weeks…’”
The 28-year-old singer-songwriter has a songwriting partner in former Athlete frontman, Joel Pott, and admitted he’s been a great mentor.
He told Music Week: “My relationship with Joel is one that I probably take for granted until I sit down with someone and talk about it.
“I found myself saying to him on this record that I feel like we’re a band, it’s just that only one of us tours.
“He will have taught me things knowing that there’s a lesson in there for me without highlighting that there’s a lesson in there, and that’s a good teacher.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Royal Blood have released the new song ‘Honeybrains’, ahead of their UK arena tour.
The pop-rock duo – comprising Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher – have given fans a little taste of what they’ve been working on ahead of their ‘Typhoons’ tour, which kicks off at the brand new Swansea Arena in South Wales on March 19.
They announced on Instagram: “Instead of sitting on new music, waiting for it to grow old, we thought it’d be fun to let you in on what we’ve been working on over the past few weeks before we head out on our biggest tour so far! It’s as new to us as it is to you. Crank it.”
Royal Blood dropped their third album, ‘Typhoons’, in April 2021, after working on it through much of lockdown.
Meanwhile, Ben recently admitted the pair want to play a dream gig at Brighton and Hove Albion’s stadium.
The ‘Trouble’s Coming’ hitmakers – who formed in the seaside resort on the East Sussex coast – love to play hometown shows and drummer Ben thinks taking to the stage at the American Express Community Stadium would be truly special as a fan of the football club.
He said: “The obvious one for me is The Amex. For the obvious reasons, it’s a big, big place.
“The beach would be like a fabulous thing that would be fun. With those places, there’s a lot of organisation that needs to go into those things and it can be very costly as well.
“Whereas you have the Brighton Centre which is set up already and is the biggest place around really.
“We love playing The Dome as well, which is one of my favourite venues to watch other bands. But want to get those extra fans in.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Muse’s forthcoming album is informed by “the increasing uncertainty and instability in the world.”
The Matt Bellamy-fronted rock trio – completed by Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard – have unveiled their ninth studio album,‘Will Of The People’, and revealed penning the collection was their way of processing this “worrying and scary time” amid the war in Ukraine, the coronavirus pandemic, “rising authoritarianism” and the climate crisis.
Sharing the themes behind the record, Matt said: “A pandemic, new wars in Europe, massive protests and riots, an attempted insurrection, Western democracy wavering, rising authoritarianism, wildfires and natural disasters and the destabilisation of the global order all informed ‘Will Of The People’.
“It has been a worrying and scary time for all of us as the Western empire and the natural world, which have cradled us for so long are genuinely threatened. This album is a personal navigation through those fears and preparation for what comes next.”
The ‘Plug in Baby’ rockers have presented the second single, ‘Compliance’ – along with a chilling music promo filmed in Poland – which follows January’s ‘Won’t Stand Down’.
On the meaning behind the synth-heavy track, he added: “‘Compliance’ is about submission to authoritarian rules and reassuring untruths to be accepted to an in-group.
“Gangs, governments, demagogues, social media algorithms and religions seduce us during times of vulnerability, creating arbitrary rules and distorted ideas for us to comply with. They sell us comforting myths, telling us only they can explain reality while simultaneously diminishing our freedom, autonomy and independent thought.
“We are not just coerced, we are herded, frightened and corralled to produce a daily ‘two minutes of hate’ against an out-group of their choosing and to turn a blind eye to our own internal voice of reason and compassion. They just need our Compliance.”
‘Will Of The People’ – the follow-up to 2018’s ‘Simulation Theory’ – is released on August 26.

OHMYGOSSIP — Normani felt “uncomfortable” sharing her “most vulnerable” song to date, ‘Fair’.
The former Fifth Harmony star – who stripped naked for the single’s striking artwork – has admitted she has been guarded with her lyrics in the past and was nervous to share the honest new breakup ballad.
In a press statement for the song, she said: “This song really captures me in one of my most vulnerable moments.
“Sharing this record makes me uncomfortable because you have never really seen me in this light. Definitely aware that you might feel like you don’t know much about me but that’s only because it’s what makes me feel protected.
“I am really forcing myself to let go here. This is huge for me and hopefully this piece of art resonates. Love is beautiful yet so soooo terrifying. I adore you guys to the moon and back.”
The track is the latest taken from Normani’s long-awaited debut solo album and follows the single, ‘Wild Side’, featuring rap megastar Cardi B.
Normani recently admitted it’s scary putting out the “deepest part of me” for all the world to hear as she is opening herself up to criticism, but she has never felt more confident about her music.
She said: “I think people really underestimate how hard it is and how much effort we put into one project, one body of work.
“When you give your baby out to the world – which is, y’know, our music – that’s the deepest part of me, [and] you give people the opportunity to kind of pick it apart and have an opinion on it; but I believe in what I’m doing now, for sure.”
The ‘Dancing with a Stranger’ hitmaker previously teased that her first record will “finally allow people” to get to know “the real” her.
She said: “I am definitely going to be prioritising real-life experiences and making sure it’s my truth – me as a woman, right now.
“[It] will finally [allow] people to get to know the real me, the real Normani.”
Normani had been “bottling up” her solo greatness and she knew she had it “within her” long before she unleashed her debut solo single, ‘Motivation’, two years ago.
She added: “To the rest of the world it’s like, Oh my gosh, where has she been? What is this?
“For me, this is what I knew I’ve had within myself for such a long time.
“I have just been bottling it up, and I’m so eager to share it with the rest of the world.
“God, like, saved me until he knew that the moment was right – which is now!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran tis taking his baby daughter on tour with him.
The 31-year-old pop star – who has nineteen-month Lyra with wife Cherry Seaborn – was asked how he plans to deal with parenthood while away on his upcoming tour and believes that the logistics are “child friendly”.
Speaking on the ‘Carrie Tommy’ podcast, he said: “I’m fortunate enough to be in a stage where it’s weekends. We play Friday Saturday Sunday at stadiums in towns where we will just live in a hotel for the week.
“So it’s actually very child friendly. She’s super portable, she’s not anywhere near the age where she needs to go to school, and she’s going to be good.”
The ‘Thinking Out Loud’ singer explained how the tour dates and locations for his upcoming +–=÷x Tour (pronounced ‘Mathematics Tour’) make it easy to bring his daughter along.
The ‘Shape of You’ singer also compared his upcoming tour to the types of shows he used to play noting, that he started his career in much smaller venues.
Ed explained: “There’s a couple of things that are beneficial about the [Mathematics] tour that I’m on. I used to play toilet venues — tiny, tiny venues that had no dressing room. You’d go in a van and you play these things and you’d play like eight gigs in a row and stay in all shared Travelodge hotel rooms.”
The’ +–=÷x Tour’ is set to begin in April 2022 in Dublin, with the first leg of the tour taking place in European cities, followed by the second leg New Zealand and Australia throughout early 2023.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney reached out privately to The Rolling Stones to prevent a new feud.
After Paul was quoted in a New Yorker profile calling the Stones a “blues cover band”, he quickly got in touch with Keith Richards to insist that his comments were based on first impressions and not his current thoughts.
Speaking to writer Brian Hiatt for an episode of the podcast ‘Rolling Stone Music Now’, Keith, 78, said: “I got a note from Paul about that, saying ‘I was taken totally out of context’. He said (to the New Yorker), ‘That’s what I thought when I first heard them.’ Because Paul and I know each other pretty well. And so when I first read it, I said, ‘Ahhh, there’s been a lot of deleting and editing going on here.’ And the next day I got a message from Paul saying, ‘If you’ve read this s***, it’s all out of context, believe me, boys.’
“That could have been the thing, but Paul isn’t that way. I felt for him. He replied so quickly on that. If he had meant to say it, he wouldn’t have bothered replying. Hey, Paul’s a great guy, man. I mean, Jesus Christ, look at the songs he’s written. You can’t knock a guy like that. We let little things come out in the press and kind of ignore ‘em.”
This comes after Paul, 79, previously told Howard Stern: “They are rooted in the blues. When they are writing stuff, it has to do with the blues. [The Beatles] had a little more influences. There’s a lot of differences, and I love the Stones, but I’m with you. The Beatles were better.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Keith Richards has promised new music from the Rolling Stones.
The 78-year-old guitarist – who is a founding member of the ‘Paint it Black’ rockers – confirmed that the band will “definitely” be doing something to mark the band’s 60th anniversary later this year.
Speaking on the ‘Rolling Stone Music Now’ podcast, he said: “We’re working on just about everything. At the moment we’re just feeling our way back. We’ve just finished this tour, and everyone is figuring out what to do this year.
“Obviously the Stone’s 60th is coming and I think we’re definitely going to be doing something there. It’s a little early in the year for me to say right now quite how the year’s going to pan out, especially with the old COVID on us. But hopefully we’ll be getting around all that and getting past it. There should be some interesting music this year.”
The Rolling Stones completed a US tour at the end of 2021, and are now gearing up for a 2022 leg in Europe, beginning in June.
Keith added that it’s “impossible” to actually understand just how long a 60th anniversary is.
He confessed: “Who can wrap their head around 60 f****** years? It all seems impossible that it’s been that long. The feeling is that we have to do something this year. When that feeling grips this band, something will be done.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Muna have praised Phoebe Bridgers for guiding their career.
The indie-pop trio are signed to Phoebe’s Saddest Factory Records and say they joined the label to work with Phoebe.
Guitarist Josette Maskin told Billboard: “We just respect her a lot. One of the reasons we signed to Saddest is because we really think that Phoebe is a marketing genius … every bit of her aesthetic is so her, and she’s so relatable. She is a king, and we’re just really happy to work with her.”
They also revealed that it was Phoebe’s decision for them to release Anything But Me as their new single.
Guitarist Naomi McPherson explained: “I gotta give it up, that was Phoebe’s call. We were waffling between a few different songs, and then she felt super strongly about that one. So we were like, ‘We’re gonna trust you,’ and people seem to really f****** like it … so shoutout!”
And lead vocalist Katie Gavin revealed the fan response to their new music has been overwhelming.
She said: “I think it’s still sinking in, to be honest with you — we’re just getting a lot of love, so you just try to receive it and believe it. It was really great to put out a song about something that is a hard thing in life to go through, but moving through it with a lot of trust in yourself and celebrating that, ‘I’m gonna do what’s right for me, and I believe that’s going to be good’ … This record, there’s a little bit more joy and self-assuredness, so I think that song is a good representation of that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Butler has quit Arcade Fire.
The 39-year-old musician has announced he has decided to end his 18-year tenure with the Canadian indie rock band – completed by his brother Win and his wife Regine Chassagne, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury and Jeremy Gara – for no particular reason other than he feels their direction has “changed” somewhat.
In a series of tweets, Will explained that he left before the group’s forthcoming LP, ‘We’, was recorded.
He told fans: “Hi friends – I’ve left Arcade Fire … I left at the end of last year, after the new record was complete. There was no acute reason beyond that I’ve changed—and the band has changed—over the last almost 20 years. Time for new things.”
The group’s multi-instrumentalist and backing vocalist is instead focusing on new ventures, including being involved in the music for award-winning playwright David Adjmi’s next play alongside his own solo projects.
Will said: “I’m working on a new record; booking some shows this summer. I’m working on music for a David Adjmi play (which is so good). A few other projects percolating.”
The composer – who earned an Academy Award nomination for his work on the original score of the 2013 movie ‘Her’ – concluded by thanking fans for their support over the years and paid tribute to all the people behind the scenes who helped bring the band’s “vision to life”.
He added: “Thank you to anyone who’s come out to AF shows, or bought a record, or loves our music. It’s meaningful to be part of your lives. Thank you to the crew, staff, management, label people, bands, artists, and friends who have helped bring our vision to life for so many years.”
Arcade Fire’s first album since 2017’s ‘Everything Now’ is released on May 6.
