OHMYGOSSIP — Machine Gun Kelly is a perfectionist.
The 32-year-old musician’s close pal and musical collaborator Brandon ‘Slim’ Allen revealed that Kelly is the “hardest critic” to please, when they put on a show.
He told Billboard: “Kells is the hardest critic. We’ll have an amazing show, 100,000 people, and he’ll find the one thing that didn’t go right.”
Kelly agreed but added: “I also hate perfection. So I don’t know why I get so anal about [everything].”
While Kelly and his band – guitarist Jus Lyons, drummer Rook, bassist Baze and keyboardist Slim – are playing huge arena shows these days, he used to do anything for attention when they were performing in smaller venues.
He said: “I would take my clothes off and just be in my boxers, and I would just have this lanky, stupid body. But it made people stop.”
And, along with performing at the Grammy Awards and headlining Madison Square Garden, Kelly’s hopes for his career include playing “underwater”.
He said: “I wanna perform on all seven continents. And then I want to perform in the ocean. Like, underwater. I don’t think anyone’s done it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Pearl Jam enlisted the help of local drummers after sticksman Matt Cameron contracted COVID-19.
The musician was unable to perform with the band for the first time in over 24 years on Thursday (12.05.22) and Friday (13.05.22) but rather than cancel the gigs in Oakland, California – which had previously been postponed – the ‘Jeremy’ hitmakers approached local drummers and asked them to fill in.
While professionals Josh Klinghoffer and Richard Stuverud filled in during most of the shows, on Thursday, local music teacher Josh Arroyo stepped up to play the group’s final song ‘Yellow Ledbetter’, and the following evening, teenager Kai Neukermans – who plays in a band called The Alive – was brought on stage to play ‘Mind Your Manners’.
According to TMZ, both men had been carefully scouted and selected before the shows and are believed to have had time to rehearse with the band, rather than their introduction to the stage being spontaneous.
Before falling ill, Matt had helped his band honour late fellow drummer Taylor Hawkins by taking lead vocals on a cover of ‘Cold Day In The Sun’, the Foo Fighters’ 2005 song which featured the sticksman – who died in March – on the mic during a gig at Los Angeles’ The Forum.
The musicians previously worked together in the band Nighttime Boogie Association.
And as they kicked off their tour in San Diego earlier this month, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder paid tribute to Taylor while sharing his appreciation for his own drummer.
He said: “[Hawkins] emitted something very incredible and very special.
“We’re all missing him, and so, Matt, I’m sorry again for your loss. But it just gives us another chance to say how much we appreciate you as well.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Mick Jagger has turned down a lot of acting roles because they were “rubbish”.
The Rolling Stones frontman – who just penned the theme tune, ‘Strange Game’, for Apple TV+ series ‘Slow Horses’ – has appeared on screen a handful of times, landing his big-screen debut in the 1970 movie ‘Performance’, while he founded the production firm Jagger Films in the 2000s.
The reason the ‘Satisfaction’ hitmaker only has a few credits to his name is because a lot of the parts he’s been offered over the years weren’t up to standard.
He spilled: “There aren’t that many great parts, to be honest.
“You get offered a lot of rubbish. In the ’70s and ’80s, there was a lot of prejudice against musicians being actors.”
The Stones have licensed their music for a number of shows and movies, and Jagger admits it’s “weird” when he’s watching something he’s forgotten they gave approval to and he hears his song.
He said: “Some people don’t really like to license their songs for TV and movies, but I think the Stones were very like-minded to it. And I enjoy it.
“Sometimes it’s weird if you’re in the middle of enjoying a movie, or not enjoying a movie, and suddenly one of your songs comes on, if you’ve forgotten you licensed it.”
Penning a song for the spy thriller ‘Slow Horses’ – which stars Gary Oldman as intelligence officer Jackson Lamb – was a simple task for the 78-year-old rocker because he had read the Mick Herron tome the series is based on.
He told Empire magazine: “I had read some of the books.
“So when Daniel [ Pemberton, composer] emailed me, I didn’t have to do homework. I knew what it was about, I knew the milieu and the main character’s irascible nature.
“I just wrote it really quick.
“I said to Dan, ‘So, you want this to be called ‘Slow Horses’?’ He said, ‘I don’t want another variant of your horse songs.’
“So then I started playing guitar and tried to come up with a bit of a chorus, and came up with this ‘strange game’ thing. That became the title.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jarvis Cocker says modern pop music is bad because the industry has been “hijacked” by people more interested in advertising than songs.
The Pulp legend – who has penned new book ‘Good Pop, Bad Pop’ about his early upbringing and relationship with music – has reflected on the contemporary scene and the way the industry has changed over the years.
Appearing on the ‘Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster’ podcast, he said: “Pop kind of has been hijacked by evil people. Advertising people, politicians, you know?
“The pop that I think is ‘good pop’ – and this is where I sound like some kind of old bloke going on, ‘Oh back in the olden days…’ But the pop music that was around when I was a kid – and people were really into it. Kids would come to school with a radio to listen to the chart rundown, the midweek thing, stuff like that.
“Singles were quite cheap, you could buy it and then it was a bit like betting on the horses, hoping that the band you liked, their record would go up in the charts that week.”
The ‘Common People’ hitmaker described the excitement of the charts as a “national pastime”, and it left the door open to unlikely success stories and hilarious flops.
He added: “It was quite a kind of national pastime, and I liked that and I liked the fact that weird records would be hits that nobody could have predicted, and sometimes record companies would spend loads of money on promoting something and it would just bomb, and then something would come out of nowhere.
“To me, that was good pop because people were making it themselves, they were involved in it. Now it’s bad pop – now it’s Simon Cowell. In music terms, he’s bad pop.”
The 58-year-old star felt like he was “born in a pop age” and raised by that culture.
He said: “I’ve kind of felt that I was a bit brought up by it in a way by the stuff I saw on the telly or songs that I heard on the radio. They give you an idea of what the world’s gonna be like, don’t they? Whether it’s accurate or not is another thing, but they do kind of raise you.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Marc Almond is “glad” he never “properly met” David Bowie.
The 64-year-old singer’s band Soft Cell were invited to support the late ‘Heroes’ hitmaker – who died of cancer in January 2016 – on tour in the 1980s but turned down the offer because they didn’t think they were “good enough” and Marc still thinks they made the right decision.
He said: “We said we didn’t think we were good enough.
“We were quite shambolic live, especially back in those days. And I thought he’s going to laugh at us.
“A part of me thinks it would have been lovely but I’m glad that I never properly met Bowie.”
While he and David never formally interacted, Marc recalled forcing himself to sit through a boring opera so he wouldn’t be judged negatively by the ‘China Girl’ singer.
He added to the Daily Star Sunday’s Wired Weekend column: “I sat a few seats away from him in New York once and it was this boring opera, really terrible.
“I really wanted to leave in the interval but thought, ‘If I Do, will Bowie think I’m an ignorant person?’
“So we got up at the interval and I followed him out, we had a sideways glance walking into the foyer and he and his wife ran as fast as possible to the door.
“I was like, ‘Hurrah, we can go, Bowie has decided it’s not for us.’
“I did keep taking a look at him and noticed he was nodding off.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Tainted Love’ hitmaker admitted he got “quite emotional” when he heard the finished version of new track ‘Purple Zone’, which also features the Pet Shop Boys.
He said: “When I heard what they’d done with our song I was quite emotional.
“Id wanted to work with them for years but never had the never so to hear them on our music was really special.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Maneskin are set to return with their new single, ‘Supermodel’, next week.
The 2021 ‘Eurovision’ winners have unveiled the artwork and release date of May 13 for their first song of the year.
Alongside the cover of a model face-down in a pool, they teased on social media: “SUPERMODEL New single. Out on May 13th.”
The band’s last single was October 2021’s ‘Mammamia’.
‘Supermodel’ is released the day before the grand finale of the 2022 ‘Eurovision Song Contest’, and the ‘I Wanna Be Your Slave’ hitmakers are expected to perform the new track at the event in Turin, Italy.
Maneskin – comprising Damiano David, Victoria De Angelis, Ethan Torchio, and Thomas Raggi – shot to international stardom after winning the televised song contest with their song ‘Zitti e Buoni’.
Meanwhile, the group are set to embark on their rescheduled ‘Loud Kids Get Louder’ tour later this year, which will see them travel to North America, Europe and the UK.
In a statement, Maneskin said: “The Loud Kids Get Louder tour will actually see our very first headline tour in North America.
“All our rescheduled European indoor dates have been upgraded due to demand + we’ve added some new ones for all of you who missed the chance to get their tickets.”
Thanking fans for their patience, they added: “We really want to thank you for being so understanding during this long period as we got this in place. We know you’ve been waiting patiently for this announcement, and we feel very grateful towards all our beloved fans for your love, support and understanding. We missed you and we missed performing, and we can not wait to play for you all again!”
The run was delayed amid the pandemic and the war in Ukraine.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie T has announced his new album, ‘The Theory of Whatever’, and his first live show in five years.
The 36-year-old indie star has released the new single, ‘The Old Style Raiders’, and announced his follow-up to 2016’s ‘Trick’ will be released on July 29.
Jamie is set to return to the stage for the first time since 2017, with a show booked at Subterania in Ladbroke Grove, west London, on May 11.
He tweeted: “My new album The Theory of Whatever is coming out 29th July and I’m playing my first live show in five years in London next week at @subteraniavenue.”
Speaking on BBC Radio 1, he said of his comeback: “I missed being in a room with people and playing music, yeah totally.
“I miss getting in a place with people and have sweat dripping from the ceiling.”
Jamie previously quit music for a number of years as he struggled to cope with the big crowds at his gigs as his fame grew due to the success of his first two albums, 2007’s ‘Panic Prevention’ and 2009’s ‘Kings and Queens’.
And while the ‘Zombie’ singer still gets “quite anxious”, he’s able to work around it better these days.
He explained: “I like to keep my head in the sand a lot with this because I get quite anxious with this stuff.
“My way of doing it nowadays is people just tell me where to go and what I’m meant to be doing and I do it that day because if I have time to think about it I worry … and then I just end up an anxious mess.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher got high and wrote a song about ‘Moby-Dick’.
The former Oasis rocker has revealed how new song ‘There She Blows’ – which he wrote under the influence in Los Angeles – was inspired by Herman Melville’s classic 1851 novel about Captain Ahab’s quest for revenge on a giant sperm whale which bit off his leg on a previous voyage.
He’s quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column as saying: “There was a book in the hotel and it was ‘Moby-Dick’.
“So I went into MedMen, the shop that sells weed, and I bought a load of f****** weed and wrote some f****** mad, nautical nonsense for this tune.”
The 54-year-old star revealed the track will feature on his upcoming album, but even he and his bandmates are having a hard time figuring out what the song is actually about.
He added: “It’s ended up on my album, it’s f****** great.
“I listened to the lyrics and even my band have been going, ‘What’s all that about?’ I’m like, ‘F*** knows’.
“It’s a great tune, it sounds like The Beatles. It’s sort of nautical bulls***.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ hitmaker has promised the record – the follow-up to 2017 High Flying Birds LP ‘Who Built The Moon?’ – will feature a lot of strings reminiscent to some classic Oasis tracks like ‘Wonderwall’.
He said: “There is a track on the album called ‘Dead To The World’, which is one of the best songs I have ever written.
“It gives people goosebumps. It’s quite orchestral and a bit like ‘Midnight Cowboy.’ ”
Noel admitted there is a “vibe” running through the entire collection, and it was a “conscious decision” to go in this direction.
He explained: “The whole album has got a vibe. There’s 10 songs and six of them have got strings.
“It was a conscious decision after ‘Who Built The Moon?’, which was quite electronic and psychedelic and beats and all that kind of things.
“When I was writing these songs, I just heard strings and choirs.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dolly Parton wants to make a rock album with The Rolling Stones.
The ‘9 to 5’ hitmaker will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame later this year, and after previously revealing she was keen to branch into the genre, she has revealed some of her plans for the potential release.
Reflecting on a photo of herself and Sir Mick Jagger together in the 1970s, she told Billboard: “Yeah, I loved him and I love ‘Satisfaction’.
“I’m hoping we’re both around long enough when I get to doing this record that he’ll come sing with me, and I may have to use The Rolling Stones to play behind me.
“I might do something like that — try to get some different rock bands, some of the classic bands, to back me on some of the songs I do and then do two or three or four originals.”
Dolly sparked a lot of debate when she was named as a nominee for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as she tried to pull out of the running because she didn’t feel like she was befitting of the honour.
Her request was denied, and she has now explained: “It was just always my belief — and I think millions of other people out there too — always thought the Rock Roll Hall of Fame was just set up for the greatest people in the rock ‘n’ roll business, and I just didn’t feel like I really measured up to that and I don’t want to take anything away from the people that have worked so hard.”
With her induction now confirmed and set for November, she is ready to embrace it and release an album to place herself firmly in the rock scene.
She added: “I’d like to get in with some of the great rock groups and do some things, [but] I’ve been working so hard on so many things and I’ve got to overcome this so-called controversy, which I never meant it to be that.
“So now I’m in the Rock Roll Hall of Fame. So I’m going to have to do a rock album at some point. … Now I may have to call my album ‘Rock Star!’ ”

OHMYGOSSIP — Yungblud had ringworm when he first met Billie Eilish.
The ’11 Minutes’ hitmaker has reflected on his friendship with the ‘Bad Guy’ singer, and he recalled contracting the fungal infection – which causes a rash on your skin – in a model room when he was touring in 2018.
Speaking to Spin magazine, he said: “Every artist that’s around now that’s big is there because they say something or perform like a God.
“I’ve known Billie since she was in f****** dungarees. Billie’s known me since I broke my leg and I was driving around America in a wheelchair on my first tour [in 2018] in a fucking van, staying in Motel 6’s, getting ringworm.
“I got ringworm now. It comes back because of the f****** Motel 6’s.”
He insisted his “mission” in music is to win over his critics, and offered a word of warning to anyone doubting his “authenticity”.
He added: “Don’t you f****** dare question my authenticity. ‘Cause I got to fucking put cream on. You know what I mean?
“My mission is to make those people slagging me off wearing a Yungblud t-shirt next year, because it’s not about telling them to f*** off. It’s about going, ‘Stop hating, get on the dance floor.’ ”
Meanwhile, he pointed to the way he feels misunderstood by various scenes and fanbases, despite Sir Mick Jagger previously hailing him as proof that “there is still a bit of life in rock and roll”.
Yungblud explained: “To Exploited fans, I’m a f****** poser,” he says. “To fucking Ariana Grande fans, I’m scary.
“Ask any great, true, rock and roll artist. They’ve been ridiculed. But this is real. You saw it last night [at the show].
“Everyone’s dressed like each other, but there’s a thousand cultures in a room. It’s f****** liberating.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Eddie Vedder says Taylor Hawkins “emitted something very incredible and very special”.
The Pearl Jam frontman paid tribute to the late Foo Fighters drummer – who tragically died in March aged 50 – as the band kicked off their ‘Gigaton’ tour in North America this week, and he referenced his bandmate Matt Cameron’s bond with the ‘Best of You’ musician.
Speaking before playing ‘Quick Escape’ at the Viejas Arena in San Diego, California this week, Eddie said: “[Taylor] emitted something very incredible and very special.
“We’re all missing him, and so, Matt, I’m sorry again for your loss. But it just gives us another chance to say how much we appreciate you as well.”
After performing at a tribute concert for late Soundgarden legend Chris Cornell in 2019, Taylor and Matt formed Nighttimate Boogie Association together the following year.
They also teamed up with Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro on a cover of Queen’s classic track ‘Keep Yourself Alive’ at Eddie’s Ohana festival in October 2021.
Meanwhile, Queen guitarist Brian May previously admitted he felt “so frustrated” by his friend’s death, and it “feels wrong” for the musician to have lost his life at such a relatively young age.
He said: “Taylor wasn’t even my generation. I think of him as a boy — same as I saw George Michael as a boy — to lose them feels all wrong.
“It makes you feel so frustrated. It makes you feel like you want to negotiate with death.
“It makes you feel like if you looked at it enough, if you talk about it enough, if you analyse it enough then maybe you can bring him back, but of course, that’s just not the way it all works.”
Taylor was a huge Queen fan, and Brian admitted he was “the best publicist for Queen ever”.
He added: “He’s been so good for our image! Where he kind of regarded us as cool – which at the time a lot of people didn’t…
“We instantly bonded because Taylor and Pat Smear were the most informed Queen fans, they knew more about us than we did. We were just shocked to find out how much they felt about us.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Florence Welch has been inspired by vampires and horror films for her new album.
The Florence + The Machine star has revealed how her love for more macabre movies during lockdown influenced her writing for ‘Dance Fever’.
She told the New York Times: “Horror was like a poultice. I couldn’t watch a rom-com or a film where people were eating in restaurants. I needed to see people losing it.
“I really wasn’t enough of a horror aficionado. I have enough scary thoughts in my head to not want to be scared recreationally. But I got COVID just before we did the album cover shoot.
“I was pretty sick, so I watched Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘Dracula’, which was visually a really big reference for the record and the costumes.”
The 35-year-old star agreed with the idea the collection – which drops on May 13 – could serve as a rock soundtrack for a vampire ball.
She added: “I missed guitars… there was a period of time where I was, for lack of a better phrase, drinking all the vampire content that I could.”
She doesn’t just take her inspiration from the world of horror movies though, as musicals have also played an important role in her life.
She said: “I love musicals. Growing up, I didn’t think about becoming a pop star. I wanted to be on Broadway.
“But I was a really awkward kid. I begged my mum to send me to stage school and she was like, ‘No’. I definitely get my love of music from my dad.”
Meanwhile, Florence previously opened up on single ‘Heaven Is Here’ – which features on the album – after she also created choreography to accompany the song for the first.
She previously said: “‘Heaven Is Here’ was the first song I wrote in lockdown after an extended period of not being able to get to the studio.
“I wanted to make something monstrous. And this clamour of joy, fury and grief was the first thing that came out.
“With dance studios also shut it was my dream to one day create choreography with it. So it’s one of the first pieces of music I have made specifically with contemporary dance in mind.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles has extended his mammoth ‘Love On Tour’ 2022 dates, including 10-date residencies in New York and Los Angeles.
The ‘As It Was’ hitmaker is set to kick off the 32-date jaunt with two consecutive nights at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada on August 15 and 16.
He’ll then make the world-famous Madison Square Garden ‘Harry’s House’ between August 28 and September 2, before heading to the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, for five nights, and then onto Chicago’s United Center for the same number of shows.
The tour will wrap with 10 nights at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum for 10, with the final date set for November 15.
At MSG in New York City, the former One Direction star will be supported by Blood Orange, while Ben Harper will open for Harry in Los Angeles.
Jessie Ware is the special guest for Chicago, and Madi Diaz and the Gabriels will open for the ‘Golden’ hitmaker in Toronto and Austin, respectively.
Fans can register for Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan platform until Thursday, May 19 at 10pm ET for the presale. Registered fans who receive a code will have access to purchase tickets before the general public Wednesday, May 25 starting at 12pm local time. Only fans that have received a unique code will have the chance to purchase tickets for performances on a first come, first served basis.
The North American tour dates come after Harry announced London and New York ‘One Night Only’ album release shows.
On May 24, the pop star will give those lucky enough to bag tickets to the intimate concert at London’s O2 Academy Brixton the chance to witness him perform the songs from his eagerly-awaited LP ‘Harry’s House’.

On the album’s global release date of May 20, the 28-year-old singer will perform ‘Harry’s House’ in its entirety at the New York edition of ‘One Night Only’ at the UBS Arena.
Harry recently shared the 13-song track-listing for the follow-up to 2019’s ‘Fine Line’, which is released on May 20.

OHMYGOSSIP — Little Mix have promised fans their hiatus does not spell the end of the girl group.
The chart-topping band – comprising Jade Thirlwall, 29, Perrie Edwards, 28, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 30 – are currently on their last jaunt before they embark on an extended break, and the girls have insisted that while they are set to launch their own solo careers, they are already discussing the next Little Mix reunion.
The girls – who became a trio in December 2020, when Jesy Nelson, 30, quit the band – might be doing their own things over the next few years, but they have vowed to carefully align their schedules so there is no chance of them facing each other in the charts.
Perrie told The Sun newspaper: “We’ve all said we will let each other know when we’re going to release so we don’t end up clashing in the charts. We’re rooting for each other, not competing against each other.”
Jade – who has inked a deal with Sony’s RCA Records and has joined Harry Styles’ management – added: “It’s just not going to happen. There will be a conscious effort from all of us to make sure of that.”
Leigh-Anne said: “We are so close and that’s the thing. We’re all going to be in communication about this the whole time.”
On already wanting to get back together before they go their separate ways, Perrie said: “Honestly, we haven’t even parted ways yet and we’re already talking about when we’re coming back! We’re like: ‘is two years away enough? Two and a bit years?'”
Jade agreed that while the change is necessary, they have such a strong bond and have every intention of working together in the future.
She added: “You can’t deny our relationship – whenever anyone comes to watch the show or sees us in interviews or on social media it’s pretty obvious that we can’t actually live without each other.
“We know how phenomenal we are together, so why would we never want to do that again? Change has to happen in life, you have to move on at some point and try new things, but it’s such a comfort to know we have each other to come back to.
“We don’t know how long this will be for but I’m already ready for that reunion!”
The ‘Woman Like Me’ hitmakers will bow out after their final concert on May 14 at London’s The O2 arena, which is being live-streamed across the globe.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sheryl Crow “vomited all day” before her first performance with The Rolling Stones.
Sir Mick Jagger and co enlisted the ‘Soak Up The Sun’ hitmaker for a cover of ‘Live With Me’ at Miami’s Joe Robbie Stadium on November 25, 1994, and Sheryl was so “terrified” of sharing a stage with her idols, that she was throwing up in the run-up to the performance.
Before being taken under the wing of the ‘Under My Thumb’ hitmakers, Sheryl – whose first big gig was performing as a backing singer during the late Michael Jackson’s ‘Bad’ tour between 1987 and 1989 – had felt like an “outsider” in Los Angeles.
Speaking on ‘The Howard Stern Show’, she said: “I was just an outsider, and it was the Stones who kind of plucked me out of [that] and said, ‘Hey, welcome to our scene.’ That was the scene I kind of always wanted to be in anyway. It always felt like I was born too late.”
Recalling her first performance with the iconic band, she said: “I vomited all day. I was so terrified.
“Right before I went out, [their saxophonist] Bobby Keys … handed me a bottle of tequila and said, ‘Here’s a little courage,’ and kind of shuffled me out.”
Sheryl, 60, was in awe of frontman Mick, 78, and found it a surreal experience.
She recalled: “I can remember exactly what I was thinking when I was like six inches from Mick [Jagger’s] face.
“‘Oh, this is the guy whose zipper … I unzipped on that record [‘Sticky Fingers’].”
The pair have kept in touch over the years, and she recently reunited with the rock veteran on a new cover of ‘Live With Me’ from 1969’s ‘Let It Bleed’ LP.
The ‘First Cut Is The Deepest’ singer recruited Mick to play the harp on the Stones track for the soundtrack album to the new ‘Sheryl’ documentary about her life and career, which is out today (06.05.22).
She said: “I texted him recently and asked him if he would play harp on [a cover of the Rolling Stones song] ‘Live With Me’. As I was texting him, I was just thinking, I can’t even believe I have his phone number.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift has released ‘This Love (Taylor’s Version)’.
After the new cut of the track from 2014’s ‘1989’ debuted in the trailer for Amazon Prime’s adaptation of ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’, the Grammy winner has made the song available to stream.
The 32-year-old pop superstar is re-recording much of back catalogue after her master recordings were sold by her old record label Big Machine.
In September, Taylor released ‘Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version)’ from ‘1989’.
After the song went viral on TikTok, she tweeted: “Hi! Saw you guys got Wildest Dreams trending on tiktok, thought you should have my version.(sic)”
Meanwhile, Taylor recently announced that she is releasing a new song called ‘Carolina’.
Taylor wrote the track “alone” and produced it alongside long-time friend and music collaborator Aaron Dessner.
The pair co-produced Taylor’s critically acclaimed eighth and ninth studio albums, ‘folklore’ and ‘evermore’.
The song is set to feature in the upcoming movie version of ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ – the 2018 murder mystery novel by American author Delia Owens – and a clip of the song is in a recently-shared trailer for the movie.
The movie will star 23-year-old ‘Normal People’ actress Daisy Edgar-Jones, and will be produced by 46-year-old actress Reese Witherspoon.
The ‘cardigan’ singer wrote in an Instagram caption: “I wrote the song ‘Carolina’ alone and asked my friend @aarondessner to produce it. I wanted to create something haunting and ethereal to match this mesmerizing story.”
While the song does not have an official release date yet, Taylor added that the full version of ‘Carolina’ will be available in full “soon”.
She wrote: “You’ll hear it fully soon, but for now check out the @crawdadsmovie trailer for a clip!”
Taylor’s caption was written below a post of the full trailer. Pieces of lyrics that can be heard in the teaser include the lines: “You didn’t see me here” and “There are places I will never go to / Things that only Carolina will ever know.”
The ‘Blank Space’ singer also discussed her love for the novel the film is based on, in addition to praising both Daisy and Reese.
Taylor added: “Where The Crawdads Sing is a book I got absolutely lost in when I read it years ago. As soon as I heard there was a film in the works starring the incredible @daisyedgarjones and produced by the brilliant @reesewitherspoon, I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the musical side.”
