OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John’s extraordinary life and career will be documented in an upcoming Disney+ documentary.
‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances and the Years that Made His Legend’ will feature never-before-seen archival footage and new interviews.
It will be released as the 75-year-old music legend wraps the North American leg of his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on November 20.
R.J. Cutler, who recently helmed the Billie Eilish documentary ‘Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry’ for Disney, is directing, while the ‘Tiny Dancer’ hitmaker’s husband, David Furnish, is producing.
Cutler said: “What a thrill and an honor it is that David Furnish and I get to create this intimate and unique look at one of the world’s most celebrated artists.
“As it has for so many others, Elton John’s music has had deep meaning for me for decades, and this opportunity is nothing short of a career highlight and privilege.”
Although there is no release date yet, the doc will have a theatrical release before heading to Disney+.

OHMYGOSSIP — Aitch has announced details of his eagerly-awaited debut studio album, ‘Close To Home’.
The Manchester rapper is set to release the record on August 19.
The 22-year-old star says it was an emotional process making his first full-length release.
Over on Instagram, Aitch said: “This one means a lot.
“The past 4 years have been crazy thank you to everyone that’s been involved I can’t appreciate you enough, whether you been here from the start or not I got nothing but love.
“A lot of different emotions went into this I can’t wait to share it with u lot! Came this far without dropping an album and that’s all because of you, thank you for being patient with me […] let’s see how far this one takes us.”
Aitch releases the latest single, ‘1989’, which samples fellow Mancunians The Stone Roses’ seminal single ‘Fools Gold’, released in 1989, on Friday (20.05.22).
A press release notes that the track is “a clever juxtaposition of two prominent musical eras, a bridge joining Manchester old and new, a twin celebration of the city’s auspicious storytelling past and thrilling future. Aitch effortlessly combines the undeniable groove of the legendary Madchester anthem with his quick-witted bars and whip-smart wordplay.”
The whole album is an ode to the northern city, which is the birthplace of Oasis, New Order, The Smiths and The Verve.
Aitch has recently enjoyed chart success with the lead single, ‘Baby’, which samples Ashanti’s song of the same name from the R B legend’s iconic 2002 self-titled debut album.
Since his 2018 breakthrough single, ‘Straight Rhymez’, Aitch has collaborated with the likes of Stormzy, Ed Sheeran, AJ Tracey, Pa Salieu, and Headie One.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Ryder doubts Harry Styles will be “mad” if ‘Space Man’ beats ‘As It Was’ to number one this week.
The UK’s ‘Eurovision’ finalist – who came second place to Ukraine’s Kalush Orchestra in the annual song contest at the weekend – is neck-and-neck with the former One Direction star in the race for number one in the Official UK Chart.
Harry has managed to maintain the top spot for six weeks now, and the TikToker is sure he won’t mind jumping down a place to let ‘Space Man’ have its moment.
On the prospect of beating Harry on Friday (20.05.22), Sam told OfficialCharts.com:
“It feels amazing, Harry is a legend. I feel like what Harry stands for, as a fan of his and listening to his music, he stands for the same things that ‘Eurovision’ celebrates; a freedom of expression, of inclusivity. A celebration of music, joy, and togetherness.
“I don’t think he’d be that mad if we pipped him to Number 1, I really don’t. Harry, sorry if you would be mad, but I’m sure we could make it up to you. You’ve had your six weeks, that’s a good time!”
The former metaller – whose famous fans include Justin Bieber, Alicia Keys and Hollywood legend Jamie Lee Curtis – admitted it would be the icing on the top of a “lovely cake” if he scores a number one.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Fender has won his first Ivor Novello Award.
The 28-year-old singer songwriter fought off the likes of Adele, Ella Henderson and James Arthur to bag the gong for Best Song Musically And Lyrically for his hit ‘Seventeen Going Under’, at the 67th annual ceremony, just weeks after performing his “biggest gig to date” at Finsbury Park in London.
Elsewhere, ‘Funky Friday’ rap star Dave, 23, was named Songwriter of the Year for his album ‘We’re All Alone In This Together’ and was up against stars such as Ed Sheeran, Adele and Coldplay for the honour.
It became the fourth Ivor Novello award in five years for the ‘Funky Friday’ hitmaker, who became the youngest ever winner at the age of 19 back in 2018 when he won Best Contemporary Song for his politically charged track ‘Question Time’ at the 2018 and later went on to win the same award for his other songs in 2020 and 2021.
Elsewhere, pop superstar Ed Sheeran won the award for Most Performed Work for his hit song ‘Bad Habits’ and Little Simz – who was crowned Breakthrough Artist at the BRIT Awards earlier in 2022 – won Best Contemporary Song for her hit ‘I Love You, I Hate You’.
The Ivor Novello Awards are rewarded to artists by The Ivor Academy for and the winner is selected by judges who are members of the the Academy

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Alwyn’s pseudonym on his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s albums was named after his great-grandfather.
The ‘Conversations With Friends’ star has two co-writing tracks on his significant other’s ‘Folklore’ record and three on her follow-up album ‘Evermore’ under the pseudonym William Bowery, and he chose the moniker because of his composer relative and that he’s a big fan of the New York area Bowery.
He said: “It was a combination of William, my great-grandfather – who I actually never met – [who] was a composer.
“He wrote a lot of classical music and he wrote a lot of film scores. And then Bowery is the area in New York that I spent a lot of time in when I first went over there. So, stick ’em together.”
Joe joked the name he chose is “very fancy” and could easily be confused for a character in the detective novels of legendary writer Dame Agatha Christie.
Speaking on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’, he added: “We chose to do it so the people, first and foremost, would listen to the music first before dissecting the fact that we did it together.
“We did it under the name William Bowery, very fancy. It sounds like a kind of Agatha Christie character that should be wearing a monocle with a big moustache.”
Earlier this month, the 31-year-old actor admitted his collaborations with 32-year-old Taylor were “accidental”.
He said: “It was really the most accidental thing to happen in lockdown.
“It wasn’t like, ‘It’s three o’clock, it’s time to write a song!’ It was just messing around on a piano and singing badly and being overheard and then thinking, you know, ‘What if we tried to get to the end of it together?’ ”

OHMYGOSSIP — Griff, Ari Lennox, and five other artists have all recorded new covers of Queen’s ‘A Kind Of Magic’.
The British singer, the ‘Pressure’ hitmaker, Turkish electro-pop star Ekin Beril, Latin sensation Mariah Angeliq, Nigerian singer/songwriter Tems, rapper Tesher and K-Pop band TRI.BE have all given their own take on the 1986 single to mark the global expansion of Coke Studio, which originally launched in Pakistan in 2008.
All seven artists will feature in a new short documentary film called ‘The Conductor’, while their versions of the song, as well as additional tracks and behind-the-scenes footage are accessible on the Coke Studio YouTube hub, which is live now.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Fender has teamed up with Bruce Springsteen to record a charity single.
The 28-year-old singer has joined forces with the ‘Born in the U.S.A.’ hitmaker to record a charity record for the Teenage Cancer Trust and its sister organisation Teenage Cancer America.
Sam – who has also teamed up with Sting and Mark Knopfler to record the superstar song – said: “Sting occasionally FaceTimes us, weirdly I always end up being in the bath.
“We were in the studio the other day. I did a charity thing with him and Mark Knopfler.”
Sam felt nervous about working with some of his heroes, including Mark, who starred in Dire Straits.
The ‘Seventeen Going Under’ hitmaker can barely believes that he’s working with so many big-name artists.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I just did some guitar stuff, which was the most f****** nerve-wracking thing ever, going in to do a guitar take on a Mark Knopfler song, he’s one of the best guitarists ever.
“Springsteen’s on it as well. There’s a million people. All of the legends and then me, a stupid Geordie.”
Sam has enjoyed a meteoric rise over recent years, and has admitted to being disconnected from the music scene in his home city.
He shared: “I’m quite out of touch, to be honest. When I go home, I tend to stay in the house, because I can’t really go anywhere in Newcastle now without getting f****** obliterated.”
Despite this, Sam never feels short of inspiration or ideas for new music.
He added: “I wasn’t living that life when I was writing ‘Seventeen Going Under’. That whole album was written when I was living in a nice flat and had signed a record deal.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Grennan’s new album will feature a song or two about his Italian girlfriend.
The 26-year-old singer has teased details about his next record, revealing that Danniella Carraturo has inspired some of his new music.
He shared: “The album is finished and I am excited. It is a different chapter. It’s a colourful album, it’s exciting.”
Asked if any of his new material is dedicated to his girlfriend, Tom told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Yeah, of course, she is a big part of my life and she is the reason I really did change my ways.
“She has helped me get to the place that I am at now, so definitely.”
Tom is currently preparing for the annual Soccer Aid charity game in June.
And the ‘Little Bit of Love’ hitmaker is making a concerted effort to get himself fit for the big match, after over-indulging on fast-food during his recent tour.
He shared: “Soccer Aid training is going well.
“Don’t get me wrong, I’ve put a bit of a tour belly on, but I’m out at the moment doing laps of the field and I played football last night, so I’m getting ready for it.
I was eating rubbish in America. It’s just fries and Impossible Burgers.
“I’ll definitely be in a headspace where I’m there to play well. It’s on TV, for God’s sake. I’m not looking rubbish, no way.”
Tom previously took to Twitter to announce he would be playing at Soccer Aid.
The music star joked that he was a last-minute signing for manager Harry Redknapp.
Tom wrote on the micro-blogging platform: “@socceraid for @UNICEF_uk is back on the 12th of June and The gaffer @Redknapp got that last minute transfer window over the line and the money was just too good to turn down. Can’t wait [lion emojis]

The 28-year-old rap star – whose real name is Diamonte Harper – has experienced sexism throughout her life, and she remains determined to prove her doubters wrong.
The ‘Best Friend’ hitmaker told Glamour: “I’ve always proved people wrong. I’ve always proved men wrong.
“I think that women deal with it, not only in the [music] industry, but in everyday life, you know, not feeling equal or not being respected. So I wouldn’t even put my focus on experiencing it in the industry.
“I’ve experienced sexism all my life, but I think in times like that, it just fuels my ambition to just prove those who may not see me as an equal wrong.”
Saweetie thinks the concept of feminism has evolved over recent years, and the chart-topping rap star feels “proud” to be a woman.
She shared: “‘Feminism’ is a touchy word, but I think that it’s slowly evolved to [represent] a common goal of women being accepted, empowered and equal to everyone on the planet. I’m a proud woman and I love me some pretty b*****s.”
Earlier this year, meanwhile, Saweetie claimed musicians have it “tough”.
The rap star acknowledged that her life and career look to be “glamorous” from the outside – but insisted “a lot of difficult things” happen behind the scenes.
The ‘My Type’ hitmaker – who has yet to release her debut album – explained: “I just feel like as artists, you know, we have it tough. I feel like we have all the spotlight on us and people think that it’s glamorous when in all actuality there are a lot of difficult things that happen behind the scenes.”

The 47-year-old singer’s new record, ‘The Storm Before The Calm’, will guide her fans through 11 different meditations.
Alanis said: “Meditating rests my interior to the point where I can have access to ideas and visions and inspirations – I can hear my own capital-S Self.
“Music, for me, is like a portal in a way, an invitation into a state of being that I’m not normally in. Making the record kept me super connected and accountable during COVID, when I felt like I was just going to disappear and float away.”
‘The Storm Before The Calm’ will be released via various streaming platforms and the mental health app Calm on June 17.
Alanis has previously spoken about her love of meditation, admitting it’s helped her in a huge way over the years.
She said: “When I first started meditating, the first step was to be less afraid to face my anxiety.”
Alanis explained how meditation and writing music have both helped her to cope with various challenges in her life.
The ‘Hand in My Pocket’ hitmaker said: “Whenever something was bubbling up – I didn’t know how to process it because I was too young – I would write a song.”
Alanis also found that meditating helped her to deal with troubles while she was on the road.
She said: “I would be in these environments that were so exciting and so overstimulating but going back to the hotel to meditate. A lot of times, I’d introduce some sort of physical or somatic practice like stretching or yoga – that would help to bring me back to my body.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack Harlow considers his friendship with Drake to be a “gift”.
The 24-year-old star has quickly developed a close bond with Drake, 35, and Jack has credited his friend for teaching him how to rap.
Jack – who released his debut album, ‘That’s What They All Say’, in 2020 – explained: “That’s what’s a real gift to this s***. Drake is one of the people who literally taught me how to rap; him, [Lil] Wayne, and Kanye [West].”
Jack even claimed that being close friends with Drake is worth more than $10 million to him.
He said on ‘The 85 South Comedy Show’: “To be cool with him is the biggest gift. It’s better than $10 million. There’s no price tag on meeting somebody who taught you how to do it, and them saying, ‘Yo, you’re dope.'”
Meanwhile, Jack recently revealed he sought Dua Lipa’s approval before he named a song after her.
The rap star spoke to the London-born singer before he released his new track, which is named ‘Dua Lipa’.
He said: “I wanted to get her blessing, so I FaceTimed her and played it for her because I didn’t want her to be blindsided by that or feel like creeped out or anything.
“If she had said, ‘Yo, I hate it. I don’t want it to come out,’ it wouldn’t have come out.”
Dua, 26, thinks the song is “okay” – but she was also “thrown off” by the conversation.
During a recent appearance on a radio show, Jack shared: “She was like, ‘Oh, I mean it’s not my song. I suppose it’s okay.’ She was just kinda thrown off and she just kinda let it go.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Flume says it was nerve-wracking working with his idol, Damon Albarn.
Blur and Gorillaz star Damon, 54, is featured on the Australian record producer’s title track from his latest studio album, ‘Palaces’, but he very nearly didn’t make it onto the LP at all, as the ‘Parklife’ hitmaker wasn’t a fan of the songs Flume showed him.
Speaking to NME, the 30-year-old DJ – whose real name is Harley Streten – said: “We were both playing the LA festival Life Is Beautiful and linked up afterwards, and went to some weird studio in the middle of nowhere in the desert.
“I was nervous because I’m a huge fan.”
Flume was relieved when Damon finally took an interest in ‘Palaces’.
He spilled: “He was like ‘Alright, there’s something in this, this is cool’.”
“After he came round to one of the songs, I did think ‘Thank f*** for that!”
The album also features Caroline Polachek on ‘Sirens’.
Flume’s comeback comes after he revealed he nearly quit music due to severe anxiety, which drove him to self-medicate.
The music star noticed similarities in the way he was dealing with his mental health to those of the late Avicii – whose family said he “could not go on any longer” after years of health worries caused by stress and alcohol abuse.
Flume admitted he would drink booze and get high to make himself feel confident enough to go on stage.
In a candid interview in 2020, he said: “I mean I used a lot of alcohol.
“Like, when performing, I would drink to calm nerves.
“I would drink to make it bearable, which sounds crazy but really it’s the truth.
“I’m just not a performer and I’ve definitely used alcohol to feel comfortable on stage in front of people.”
Flume has changed his ways and no longer drinks before his concerts, but that hasn’t stopped him feeling anxious.
He continued: “Now I don’t drink before shows, because I kind of realised that was a pattern, and it was getting pretty bad.
“The second I enter the festival I’m riddled with anxiety.
“Even to this day, after I’ve done thousands of shows, I still get anxious.”
On how similar his behaviour was to the ‘Wake Me Up’ hitmaker – who tragically took his own life aged 28 in April 2018 – he said: “I think people like Avicii and things, are literally the same as me.
“And he died because he was medicating himself just like I was, with alcohol, drugs, whatever. He wasn’t happy.”
Flume came close to quitting music until he decided to face his issues head-on by seeing a therapist.
He said: “I was at a point where I was like ‘I don’t wanna do this anymore.’
“When I have to use alcohol, like, I’m not having fun with this.
“I think I wanna quit unless I can figure something else out.
“I went to a therapist and I was like ‘I hate my job, and it’s f***ed that I can even say that because I have an incredible job that people dream of having.
“I feel like a bad person for saying that, but I love making music but I hate touring.'”
The ‘Sleepless’ star had doubts about going on medication for anxiety but admitted without it, he would’ve had to quit touring.
‘Palaces’ is the follow-up to 2016’s Grammy-winning ‘Skin’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Doja Cat has pulled out of The Weeknd’s summer stadium tour.
The 26-year-old star was due to support The Weeknd on his ‘After Hours Til Dawn’ global stadium tour, which kicks off in July, but she has been forced to step down due to tonsil surgery.
She wrote on Instagram: “Hi guys. I wanted you to hear it from me first. Unfortunately I have to have surgery on my tonsils ASAP. The surgery is routine but the recovery is going to take awhile due to swelling. That means I have to cancel my festival run this summer as well as The Weeknd tour. I feel horrible about this but can’t wait for this to heal and get back to making music and create an experience for y’all.”
Doja has also pulled out of her scheduled appearances at Hangout Festival in Alabama this weekend, and Glastonbury Festival in the UK next month.
Hinting at her medical issues earlier on Twitter, she wrote: “Dr. just had to cut into my left tonsil. I had an abscess in it. My whole throat is f***** so i might have some bad news for yall coming soon. I was taking f***** antibiotics but forgot that i was taking them and then i drank wine and was vaping all day long and then i started getting a nasty growth on my tonsil so they had to do surgery on it today (sic).”

OHMYGOSSIP — Emeli Sandé was able to put “more” of herself into her new music as a producer.
The ‘Heaven’ hitmaker got to step into the producer role on a number of the songs on her new album, ‘Let’s Say For Instance’, and it was a “liberating” experience.
She explained: “I loved it – really liberating. I really fell in love with production, because it showed me that, yes, beyond the melody and the lyric and the chords you put around it, you can just take it to another world; you can create a whole atmosphere and worlds that people can live in. I think that’s the biggest lesson I learnt from production – and also that everyone can produce in different ways.
“I always felt, Oh, well, I can’t really call myself a producer because I don’t know how to use this program. But, then, I’ve realised it’s so much beyond that and you can really choose the way you want to do it. It just allows me to put more of myself into the music.”
The ‘Next To Me’ hitmaker – who was married to university lecturer Adam Gouraguine from 2012 to 2014 – announced last month that she is now dating female classical pianist Yoana Karemova, and being able to be her true self in her music was also “freeing”.
She added to musicfeeds.com.au: “I love it. I feel, the more honest I am, the more liberating it feels, yeah. I’d only ever really hate a song if I felt I hadn’t been honest or I felt I was trying to be pretentious in it, which I really always try to avoid.
“So, through the music, I definitely find, when you just tell the truth, there’s nothing more freeing. That’s why I always make sure lyrically I don’t lie. I’ve always been quite a honest person and I want people to know me exactly. So to now be able to be honest about everything – personal life, music – all the rest of it’s like, Okay, cool, now it’s complete. I feel like I can just be myself in every aspect of my life now.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Owen’s new solo record features his daughters.
The 50-year-old Take That star has daughters Willow, 13, and Fox, nine and son Elwood, 15, with wife Emma Ferguson and he revealed that Willow and Fox feature on his upcoming solo album.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “They’re into all their own music but actually they’re aware and interested in this, which is nice.
“The girls are singing on the record, doing backing vocals with two girls who have been performing with Foo Fighters, so that was exciting and a nice experience for them.
“They’re excited about it being out this week, and keep asking questions about it.”
And Mark is hoping to hit the road for a solo tour with his record ‘Land Of Dreams’, which will be released in September.
He said: “Live is what it’s all about, of course, and I can’t wait to gig the new songs when the album is finally released.
“I’ve got myself a band together, which is exciting, and we’re playing Isle of Wight and Latitude Festival. I couldn’t be more excited – but mostly because I love festivals and I know I’ll wander around and watch everyone else. I just went to Coachella and saw Harry Styles, Dave, loads of different people – so what will happen is we’re just about to go on stage and the band and tour manager will all be like, ‘Where’s Mark?’ I’m just excited to be there and see everyone else – but it’s a joy to be part of it.”

The 78-year-old music legend shot to fame alongside the late Charlie – who died back in 2021 at the age of 80 – as part of rock band The Rolling Stones and admitted that he still thinks about his former co-star almost a year after his passing.
He said: “I don’t really expect him to be there any more if I turn round during a show. But I do think about him. Not only during rehearsals or on stage, but in other ways too. I would have phoned him up and talked about last night’s Arsenal game because he supported Tottenham and I’m Arsenal. I miss him as a player and as a friend.”
The ‘Brown Sugar’ rocker – who continues to tour with his iconic rock band alongside Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood – added that when he thinks about his former bandmate, he remembers him as “the last one down” when the hitmakers would take their final bow after a concert.
He told The Times: “In the show, when we come to the front and bow at the end, there’s no Charlie. He’d always be the last one down. I’d go: ‘Come on, what have you got to do?’ He’d be fiddling with his sticks because he always had to have them in a row before he’d get off the seat..”
Meanwhile, the music legend added that in terms of the band they have “matured” over the course of their career as they celebrate 60 years in music.
He said: “[We are] getting more mature. I’m not joking. It’s true, and it’s taken a long time. We’re in a very immature business. I’m under no illusions about that. But it doesn’t mean that you have to be immature.”
