OHMYGOSSIP — Blue have joked that they are going to book in some “after-show physiotherapy” after rehearsals for their comeback tour got the better of them.
The reunited boy band – comprising Lee Ryan, 38, Duncan James, 43, Simon Webbe, 44, and Antony Costa, 40 – have suffered a few minor knocks during the preparations for their December jaunt.
Antony told Hits Radio: “I’ve pulled a hammy (hamstring), my arm went!”
Simon said: “My bicep seized up holding up from the holding the mic and we just looked at each other and went, ‘How are we going to get through a tour?'”
Prompting Duncan to quip: “Back in the day we used to have after-show parties but this time it’s going to be after-show physiotherapy.”
The ‘One Love’ hitmakers previously revealed they won’t be partying on their ‘Heart and Soul’ tour to mark two decades since the release of their debut album ‘All Rise’, and they are doing everything they can to make sure they’re in tip-top shape.
Lee said: “I don’t think we’re that kind of band any more. We have different ideas now.
“We want to put on a good show first and, being a bit older now, you can’t do the dual thing of partying and putting on a good show.”
Simon added: “We’ve got to see if we can do it physically!”
Meanwhile, they suggested their longevity and passion comes from the fact they all “wanted to be in a boy band” rather than finding themselves chasing solo careers.
Simon explained: “What makes us special is each individual wanted to be in a boyband when we got together.
“We didn’t want to be solo artists who use bands as [a] stepping stone. We were always mates before we were in a band.”
The ‘Heart and Soul’ tour kicks off on December 4 at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena, and wraps in Newcastle on December 20.
The band’s album of the same name is released in September, and includes the recently released single, ‘Haven’t Found You Yet’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Steps are marking their 25th anniversary with the new greatest hits album, ‘The Platinum Collection’.
Announcing the news the week of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, the ‘Deeper Shade of Blue’ group confirmed they will release two new tracks, ‘Hard 2 Forget’ and ‘The Runner’, alongside fan-favourites.
Lisa Scott-Lee – who is joined by Claire Richards, Ian ‘H’ Watkins, Faye Tozer and Lee Latchford-Evans in the group – has reassured fans that they don’t plan to split up again after the release of their latest greatest hits collection, after they did just that following the release of ‘Gold: Greatest Hits’ in 2001.
She told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “We haven’t talked about splitting up because Steps is for ever and there is so much love out there for the group.”
In a band statement about ‘The Platinum Collection’, they said: “We cannot believe this year marks our 25th anniversary! Someone recently mentioned that the latest era of Steps has actually now outlasted our original run which was a delightful surprise. This anniversary marks the perfect moment to take a look back at everything we’ve achieved as a band. We realised that we’ve released a full 3 new studio albums since our last Greatest Hits so it felt like time to combine all our hits on one package. We’ve recorded two brand-new tracks for the album and presto, the ‘Platinum Collection’ was born. It was such good fun listening back at 25 years of our songs and we hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane as much we did.”
On top of the greatest hits, the ‘5,6,7,8’ hitmakers have also released the ‘Platinum Megamix’ on streaming services, as “a fabulous reminder of all their gigantic hits from the past two and a half decades.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mabel lost sight of who she was and quit drinking to gain perspective.
The 26-year-old singer has opened up about her struggles right before the COVID-19 lockdown, admitting she was “not in the best place personally”, and needed to quit booze and take some time for herself to do the things old Mabel would do.
In a candid chat on Jessie Ware’s ‘Table Manners’ podcast, she said: “I didn’t drink for a whole year, why I took a year off because I went through like a personal thing, which I don’t mind talking about, which is just like, I just felt after the busiest year of my life, like I completely lost myself personally.
“We did the BRITs, and we did a tour. And I think after that I was maybe going to make a little announcement of just like, not being in the best place personally, and just needing a grace period.”
The lockdown came at the perfect time for the ‘Don’t Call Me Up’ singer.
She continued: “And then lockdown happened. And that was, I’ve got time to myself and had time to just like, remember things that I like, and I started riding horses, again.”
One of the things that affected the star was the scrutiny of her appearance on social media, which would fill her with dread before going on stage and make her obsess over her looks, which she believes impacted her performance.
She shared: “And the social media thing had gotten too much like people just scrutinising. Like the way that I looked, I’d become completely obsessive about it. And I was just like, you know, going on stage in complete and total utter fear, because I would have seen one comment about something.
“And then you’re going on stage already scared that people are going to say bad things, and then you’re not performing to your best ability, and then it becomes a Catch-22 because people say terrible things. And you’re like, Well, I kind of agree with you. It wasn’t a great performance. And yeah, it just became too much.”
However, the time off worked wonders for her, and Mabel was able to get back to writing songs again.
She added: “And then I just was like, let me just do a year of like, just trying to have my head as clear as possible. And started writing again, which has been, you know, really good.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Neil Young will release his album ‘Toast’ in July.
The 76-year-old musician recorded the album with Crazy Horse in 2001 before shelving it but he has now announced plans to finally release the record later this summer.
‘Toast’ is named after the San Francisco studio in which it was recorded.
Neil made the announcement on his blog, the Neil Young Archives, last week but the post has now been deleted.
In the message, he wrote: “Unlike any other, ‘Toast’ was so sad that I couldn’t put it out. I just skipped it and went on to do another album in its place. I couldn’t handle it at that time. 2001.”
However, he now looks back on the record fondly.
He said: “[I] had forgotten about these songs, put them out of my mind and went on living my life. It must be said that here Crazy Horse shows a depth never seen or heard before. The greatest group I have ever met. This is a pinnacle.”
Neil went on to explain that the album is about a relationship, saying: “There is a time in many relationships that go bad, a time long before the break up, where it dawns on one of the people, maybe both, that it’s over. This was that time.
“The sound is murky and dark, but not in a bad way. Fat. From the first note, you can feel the sadness that permeates the recording… These songs paint a landscape where time doesn’t matter – because everything is going south. A lady is lost in her car. The dark city surrounds her – past present and future. It’s a scary place. You be the judge.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Maneskin think that rock and roll is a genre that is “impossible” to kill.
The Italian rock band – which consists of vocalist Damiano David, bassist Victoria De Angelis, guitarist Thomas Raggi, and drummer Ethan Torchio – was asked about how they compare to other artists in the genre and admitted that “nobody” in particular is “keeping it alive” but it is just impossible to get rid of.
Damiano said: “Nobody is ‘keeping rock’n’roll alive’. It’s just impossible to kill. In my head what we’re doing is very different to what MGK is doing, which is very far from what Yungblud is doing, which is very far from what Willow Smith is doing, but a lot of artists are bringing back that kind of sound and energy: distorted guitars and real drums, to f****** play with a band with real analogue sounds, stage-diving – all the rock’n’roll shit. Music is just developing. Everything is colliding and mixing in a good way.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Beggin’ hitmakers – who rose to fame after finishing as runners in the eleventh season of the Italian version of ‘The X Factor’ back in 2017 and went on to further success by winning the ‘Eurovision Song Contest 2021 ‘ for their home country – explained that their decision to enter the talent show in the first place was merely just an attempt to run with an opportunity.
Damiano told NME: “Basically, we were sick of carrying instruments and amplifiers on our f****** shoulders. We saw an opportunity and we just jumped on the train.”
“It’s the only ‘X Factor’ that allows real bands to play, or at least it was the first. It gives you the opportunity to show off something real. We did whatever we wanted to do.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Alexander has hit back at criticism of his concerts.
The Years and Years star admitted he has had walkouts on his ‘Night Call’ tour and said he has received backlash for not being “family friendly”.
Olly, 31, told Metro’s Guilty Pleasures column: “I am an ‘in your face’ kind of gay because I want to be. That’s always met with a little bit of pearl-clutching, which I love.
“I just did a show in Nottingham and it was amazing — the audience was out of this world. But it was the only show so far where we had people complain. I know a few of them said it wasn’t ‘family-friendly enough’. There’s never been anything explicit or gratuitous about a Years and Years show, so yeah, I find the reaction to be quite interesting.”
Olly was previously forced to defend his BBC New Year’s Eve concert after it was slammed for being too sexy.
He said: “It’s because I’m gay, but it’s a bit obtuse to put it all down to that, because it’s about more than sexuality, it’s about how we relate to each other.”
Olly’s current tour is his first as a solo artist.
Years and Years was originally formed as a five-piece in 2010 before becoming a three-piece.
However, last year Olly went solo after Mikey Goldsworthy and Emre Turkmen quit Years and Years.

OHMYGOSSIP — Carl Craig wants to “change the world” with his music.
The 53-year-old producer – who founded record label Planet E Communications back in 1991 and has remixed for the likes of artists such as Maurizio, Theo Parrish, Tori Amos, and Depeche Mode – is belatedly celebrating the 30th anniversary of his company with a compilation album and compared the idea of new music to a “chemist” trying to find the right formula.
He said: “I’m just trying to get my bones back. It takes a bit of time. I look at it like I was a chemist, trying to find some new formula that’s going to change the world. Maybe I need to have a template, but I don’t. I’m always trying to recreate the wheel every time I come into the studio.”
The music mogul – who is celebrating the anniversary with two performances being staged at Detroit Electronic Music Festival in his hometown on Saturday (28.05.22) – and joked that he cannot believe how much time has passed since he set the company up. It’s, like, this romantic idea that I can’t believe it’s was 30 years ago, ’cause it doesn’t feel 30 years. Maybe… 10? But not 30.”
He said: “Y’know, 30 years is one of those things where you start looking back at like, ‘I dated her 30 years ago?!
Carl was also part of the directorial team for the inaugural DEMF and – following a dispute in 2001 – returned to the panel back in 2010, where he has served ever since, and said it was “amazing” that the festival is still happening to this day.
He told Billboard: “When DEMF happened in 2000 I could only dream there would still be a festival still happening 22 years later, so that’s amazing. I’m glad I was involved in the start and I’m glad it’s still going, and it’s coming back stronger this year — hopefully for another 20 years.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran’s new song appears to detail his crippling anxiety before he proposed to Cherry Seaborn.
The singer’s track ‘One Life’ – among four releases on the deluxe version of his Equals album – seems to follow the moment he asked his 30-year-old childhood sweetheart to marry him in 2017.
Sheeran has previously revealed he popped the question under a pergola in the garden of his sprawling Sussex estate after the couple enjoyed a bottle of wine.
He says in emotional lyrics on ‘One Life’ he felt “so nervous” before getting down on one knee at his home in East Anglia,
In the first verse, he sings: “It’s such a beautiful night to make a change in our lives / East Anglian sky, empty bottle of wine.”
He adds he’s “lucky” to be spending the evening with his girlfriend, before admitting his nerves ahead of his romantic proposal.
Sheeran goes on: “Why am I feeling so nervous when things are going so perfect? / But I know that it’s worth it to spend forever with you.”
In the chorus, Sheeran reveals his anticipation for an answer in the words: “So I’ll ask you (Tonight) / Will you marry me? / Just say yes / One word, one love, one life.”
The rest of the song gushes over how emotional Sheeran felt after Seaborn said yes and admits they both got tearful.
He added in the track’s outro: “Some things were just meant to be.”
The pair tied the knot in 2019 and welcomed their first child Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran in August 2020, with their second child arriving this month.
Sheeran has previously said his wife was so shocked when he proposed to her she asked: “Are you f****** joking?”
Speaking on the Swedish talk show Skavlan about the proposal, Sheeran said: “I was getting down on one knee and I said, ‘Will you marry me?’
“And she was like, ‘Are you f****** joking?’ There was this long silence and I just went, ‘Please?’
“It is the most human I have ever felt because in my career. Sometimes you find it is like, ‘Can I do this?’ and people are like, ‘Yeah’.
“You kind of get to a point where it becomes normal and then you are in a situation where you are literally on your knees being like, ‘Will you marry me?’
“It is such a huge life decision someone has to make in the blink of an eye. Thankfully, she did say yes.”
He added about the weather during his proposal: “On the day it was p***ing down with rain and I’d built a f****** pergola at the end of the garden to do it. “Sunset, pergola, some wine… and it was p****** down with rain.
“I kept saying we should go for a walk and she was like, ‘No!’ I was like, ‘Are you sure you don’t want to go for a walk?’
“Time was ticking. There was a date engraved on the ring and I was like, ‘I’ve got to do it today!’
“It gets to 9pm and I was like, ‘For f***’s sake!’”
Sheeran, said to be on his way to becoming Britain’s first billionaire musician after another bumper year saw his fortune boosted by £40 million to around £260 million, took to Instagram this to announce the news he and Seaborn had welcomed their second child by posting a picture of a white pair of baby booties.
Seaborn was last seen in public in February when she attended the BRIT Awards with her husband.
The couple were childhood sweethearts after growing up in the same town.
They rekindled their romance in 2014 and tied the knot in a small ceremony five years later.

OHMYGOSSIP — Serge Pizzorno “needed” to be Kasabian’s frontman or they’d have had to split up.
The 41-year-old rocker didn’t want to be the group’s singer but knew he had no choice but to step in in order for the ‘Fire’ hitmakers to be able to keep going after former bandmate Tom Meighan left after hitting his now-wife Vikki Ager.
Serge – who is joined in the band by chris Edwards, Tim Carter and Ian Matthews – told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I was really happy — I was pipe and slippers. I didn’t need the frontman job. I was very happy at the side.
“It keeps me awake at night, thinking about that. But needs must.
“I love these boys, we’re a band of brothers. I needed to step up or it stops. So it doesn’t matter if I wanted to or not, you have to.”
The ‘ALYGATYR’ singer admitted he studied videos of “the greats” such as the late Elvis Presley and Freddie Mercury to work out what makes for the best frontmen.
He said: “I have been watching videos of all the greats and taking notes.
“I started notes with Elvis, watched him for a bit, watched a bit of Freddie Mercury.
“Nicked a bit of this, a bit of that, nicked a bit of Iggy Pop. I take a little bit from everyone.
“Then the Chuckle Brothers got in there. Anyone who is good at stuff, really.”
The ‘Fire’ rockers are preparing for the release of their new album, ‘The Alchemist’s Euphoria’, and Serge admitted he has crammed a “lot of ideas” into the record.
He said: “It’s a bit of a ferocious start. There are a lot of ideas. In four songs you probably hear about eight.
“It is a journey of the alchemist looking at the sea and wondering, ‘Do I get in this boat and see what is out there or do I stay at home safe and sound?’.
“I am going to get sued by Disney I reckon, or Life Of Pi might have something to say.”
Next week, the band will support Liam Gallagher at his Knebworth concerts and they are looking forward to returning to the stage, though Serge admitted he’s feeling the pressure.
He said: “Some mornings I think, ‘I can’t wait to get back on that f***ing stage’.
“And some mornings I think, ‘I don’t know if I want to do it’.
“We needed a party before, with Covid and whatever.
“Now we have been hit again with more madness in the world, so we need a good party.
“And Knebworth is going to be the best, biggest party and we’re happy to be a part of it.
“No one brings it like we bring it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Muse will replace Foo Fighters at this year’s Aftershock festival.
The music extravaganza will return to Discovery Park in Sacramento, California from October 6th to 9th 2022, and the British rockers will step in for the ‘Monkey Wrench’ hitmakers – who were due to headline on October 9th – after they pulled out following the death of their drummer Taylor Hawkins in March aged 50.
Muse frontman Matt Bellamy said in a statement: “It’s been too long and we can’t wait to come back to Northern California and headline Aftershock on Sunday, October 9th in Sacramento.”
In February, it was announced Foo Fighters, Slipknot, KISS, Rob Zombie and My Chemical Romance would all be headliners at this year’s Aftershock festival, which will be bigger than ever after expanding from three-and-a-half days to four full days.
Slipknot and Zombie will headline on the Thursday, followed by KISS and Judas Priest on the Friday, and My Chemical Romance and Papa Roach on the Saturday.
Rob said: “Aftershock is one of our favourite festivals.
“Always an amazing weekend. We are ready to take it to the next level this year.”
Jacoby Shaddix, Papa Roach’s frontman, admitted it is a “dream come true” for the ‘Broken Home’ hitmakers to be headlining the festival.
He said: “I am over the moon stoked to be one of the headliners of Aftershock this year.
“Honestly, this is like a dream come true. We have worked our whole career for moments like this, and cannot wait to be back in Sacramento, where it all began, for the hometown throwdown!
“NorCal better be f****** ready, cause it’s about to go down at Aftershock 2022!”
Several other acts will also perform over the four days, including Bring Me the Horizon, Evanescence, Lamb of God, and Stone Temple Pilots.
Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee admitted the group “cannot wait” to perform.
She said: “We are so stoked to play at Aftershock in Sacramento this fall!”

OHMYGOSSIP — BLACKPINK’s Jennie suffered from burnout after working “non-stop” for three years.
The chart-topping girl group are now one of the best-known bands in the world, but Jennie admits they worked relentlessly in order to achieve their ambitions in the music business.
She shared: “For three years after debuting, we worked non-stop without resting.
“Our sleep systems were breaking down; we weren’t eating properly; I wasn’t hydrating myself – we did that for three to four years, and then started our tour. We were on tour for a year and a half. For a year and a half I didn’t have a home.”
Jennie admits their relentless schedule ultimately took a toll on her health and wellbeing.
The 26-year-old singer also confessed to being a “very delicate person”.
Jennie – who stars in the group alongside Jisoo, Rose, and Lisa – told Rolling Stone magazine: “If I touched something I’d have an allergic reaction. I had no immune system at all, but we needed to keep touring.
“When the tour was done, we got some time off to be at home. Back then, I didn’t have time to learn how to take care of myself. I’m a very delicate person.”
By contrast, Jennie is now much more prepared for the group’s impending comeback.
The singer has learned lessons from the past and she now knows what she needs to do in order to look after herself while she’s on the road.
She said: “These days, because we’re preparing for our comeback and planning our tour, I think every day, ‘OK, how do I prepare myself for my next busy two years?'”

The 81-year-old music star has become the first Beatle to enter the world of NFTs, with his collection featuring digital artworks accompanied by signed canvas prints.
He said in a statement: “I only ever wanted to be a drummer, yet you never know where a new idea or path will lead you.
“This new technology is so far out it’s inspired me and I loved creating these NFTs combining my art and my music. Who’d have thought I would be spreading Peace and Love in the MetaVerse.”
Ringo has also announced the launch of his NFT collection via social media.
He said on Twitter: “I’m excited to share my first venture into Web3, “Ringo Starr NFT Collection | The Creative Mind of a Beatle” Each NFT comes with a signed print and access to join me on an exclusive virtual tour of the groundbreaking digital gallery experience, RingoLand. OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher might give Noel Gallagher a birthday shout-out at Knebworth.
The 49-year-old singer is returning to the iconic venue in June, having previously played there with Oasis in 1996, and Liam has suggested he could dedicate a song to his sibling at the upcoming gig.
Asked whether he’ll send a card or a text to Noel – who turns 55 on Sunday (29.05.22) – Liam replied: “Nah nah nah. When is it, Sunday? … I’ll have just done Knebworth, bless him, I might give him a shout out, dedicate one of his songs to him. That’ll do his head in won’t it.”
Oasis played to 250,000 fans at Knebworth in 1996 and the gig is widely considered to be one of Britpop’s crowning moments.
But this time, Liam has promised to behave himself at Knebworth.
The singer – who has publicly feuded with Noel for years – told Zoe Ball on ‘The Radio 2 Breakfast Show’: “I’ll be behaving the first night ‘cause me mam’s coming and then the second night I’ll go mental … I mean, I say that … you say that don’t you – ‘I’m gonna go mental man the second night’. I’ll have a couple of beers and then be like that, ‘You know what, I’m off to bed!’”
Liam previously described playing Knebworth as a “Biblical” experience.
However, the former Oasis frontman admitted he “can’t remember much about” the legendary gig.
Liam said: “Knebworth for me was the Woodstock of the 90s. It was all about the music and the people.
“I can’t remember much about it, but I’ll never forget it. It was Biblical.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Calvin Harris has been re-energised by his “primal diet”.
The 38-year-old DJ admits his attitude has been totally transformed by a change in diet.
He shared: “You know, I lost the f*** you juice for a couple years. I did lose it.
“I don’t know how I got it back, I think it was when I started eating bone marrow again and liver. And it just all came rushing back as soon as I had those bones and got those amazing fats in my body. And then I felt energised enough through my primal diet.”
Calvin recently teamed up with Dua Lipa and Young Thug for his new song ‘Potion’.
The DJ has previously enjoyed chart success with Dua on their 2017 hit ‘One Kiss’, and he loves working with the London-born star.
He told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1: “When I want to work with someone it’s because I think they have a unique voice or something that sort of speaks to me and I think, ‘Oh, I could do something with this or something really good could come out of it’ and she’s one of those people.
“It’s a mixture between that and just someone that I get on with, that I know I’m going to have a nice time in the studio with … I want to have a good time, I don’t want to have any stressful, awkward experiences with people and I want to work with people that give me joy and pleasure in the hope that I can give that back to them as well and we can just have a great time, you know?”
Calvin ultimately wanted to recreate the sound of ‘One Kiss’.
He said: “I think the vocal for ‘One Kiss’ is the best for me that she’s ever sounded. So I wanted to just like, I wanted to just recreate that, but right for this record.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX has cancelled shows in Belgium and the Netherlands after losing her voice.
The 29-year-old singer has taken to social media to inform her fans of the cancellations and to apologise to them for the situation.
Charli wrote on Twitter: “Dear angels,
“I’m devastated to inform you that I have to cancel my shows in both Brussels and Utrecht today and tomorrow. I have completely lost my voice and despite trying many techniques to revive it, it is not returning. I am under doctors orders to go on both vocal and physical rest in the hope that my voice will come back as soon as possible. I wish that there was a way that I could perform for you guys, but singing is literally impossible right now and the show is too physical to tackle whilst my glands are flared up and in pain. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Eminem is releasing an expanded edition of ‘The Eminem Show’ this week.
The 49-year-old rapper is treating fans to an updated version of his 2002 album on Thursday (26.05.22) to mark his fourth LP’s 20th anniversary.
Referencing lyrics from hit single ‘Without Me’, he took to Instagram on Tuesday (24.05.22) and wrote: “‘Well, if you want Shady, this is what I’ll give ya’. #TheEminemShow 20th Anniversary Expanded Edition drops Thursday 5/26 (sic)”
Slim Shady also shared a video which featured an animated version of the hip hop star in front of multiple screens all playing the music videos for the album’s big singles, including ‘Without Me’, ‘Superman’, ‘White America’, ‘Cleaning Out My Closet’ and ‘Sing For The Moment’.
He hasn’t provided further details of what the expanded edition will entail, although it’s likely to feature demos and potentially some unheard tracks.
Eminem is set to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside the likes of Dolly Parton and Carly Simon later this year.
In a bizarre statement acknowledging the news, he shared a cartoon of himself in front of the Minions from the ‘Despicable Me’ animated franchise, which was captioned: “The Minions congratulate Eminem. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2022.”
Eminem tweeted: “@Minions got my back. Shout out to Gru and them…”
Meanwhile, the rapper recently heaped praise on Kendrick Lamar for his new album ‘Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers’.
The ‘Lose Yourself’ hitmaker took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Kendrick’s new music, tagging his friend Dr Dre and writing: “This Kendrick album is f****** ridiculous. I’m speechless.”
It comes just months after the pair teamed up at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show back in February, performing with stars including Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Mary J. Blige.
