OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles will reportedly donate around $1 million from his latest tour to a gun safety campaign in the aftermath of a devastating school shooting in Texas on May 24.
The former ‘One Direction’ star has pledged a contribution of the proceeds from the US leg of his ‘Love On Tour’ to anti-gun violence group the Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund after being left “devastated” by the atrocity in Uvalde which killed 19 kids and two teachers.
In a post on Instagram, Harry wrote: “Along with all of you, I have been absolutely devastated by the recent string of mass shootings in America, culminating at Robb Elementary School in Texas.
“On our North American tour, we will be partnering with Everytown who work to end gun violence, donating to support their efforts, and sharing their suggested action items.”
Harry has sold out 42 dates on his North American tour which includes a residency at New York’s Madison Square Garden and another at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
Rolling Stone.com reports Harry and tour company LiveNation will be able to hand over than $1 million to support the gun safety campaign.
The tour will head to Canada before taking in US cities including Austin, Texas, for five nights, and then Chicago’s United Center for the same number of shows.
Harry will wrap up the tour with 10 nights at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum with the final date set for November 15.
The school shooting in Uvalde,Texas happened on May 24 when 18-year-old Salvador Ramos shot his grandmother and then fired on a classroom of kids all aged between eight and 10 years old.
He used a legally acquired AR-15 style assault rifle and the gun rampage last more than an hour before Ramos was shot dead by authorities.
More than 200 mass shootings have taken place in the US since the start of 2022.

OHMYGOSSIP — Rockers Maneskin felt “proud” to have been asked to cover one of Elvis Presley’s classic songs for Baz Luhrmann’s new movie biopic.
The Italian ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ winners are along the acts who have recorded tracks for the soundtrack of new film ‘Elvis’ which tells the story of The King’s rise to fame – and they were asked to tackle big ballad ‘If I Can Dream’.
Frontman Damiano David told NME.com: “We were talking about it with Baz Luhrmann, who had this really cool, super-smart idea, because it would have been so easy to give us an up-tempo song and go super rock-ish.
“He saw that between the lines that we were going to be able to give something else to show the sweet side of Elvis. I think we did a great job!”
David then added: “The meaning of the song is very contemporary: ‘If I can dream of a better land/ Where all my brothers walk hand in hand‘. It’s about uniting, it’s about peace, freedom and happiness, and it’s coming out at the right moment. We’re really proud of what we did, and to be part of this project. I have a feeling it’s going to be amazing.”
Guitarist Thomas Raggi then said: “Elvis is an amazing artist, so it was great to just be able to contribute and pay tribute. We recorded the song in a really special moment during the writing sessions for the album.”
Other artists who have contributed to the soundtrack include Eminem, Tame Impala, Stevie Nicks and Jack White.
The film stars Austin Butler in the title role and the actor has also recorded some of Elvis’ songs for the film, while there will also be some of the legendary musician’s originals included in he movie.
‘Elvis’ is released in the UK on June 24.

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Timberlake has sold off his music back catalogue in a deal said to be worth $100 million.
The pop star, 41, struck a deal for around 200 of his songs including hits such as ‘SexyBack’ and ‘Mirrors’ to Hipgnosis Song Management, the company founded by Merck Mercuriadis and Nile Rodgers in 2018.
He confirmed the news in a statement, which read: “I am excited to be partnering with (Hipgnosis founder and chief executive Merck Mercuriadis).
“He values artists and their creative work and has always been a strong supporter of songwriters and storytelling. I look forward to entering this next chapter.”
Merck added: “Justin’s incredible catalogue will join other amazing works at Hipgnosis which we know will serve as a great steward of his work. We look forward to a great partnership between Justin and Hipgnosis.”
An exact figure for the sale has not been released, but The Wall Street Journal reports the deal could be worth in excess of $100 million.
Justin follows in the footsteps of other stars including Shakira and Neil Young, who both sold off chunks of their back catalogue to the same company earlier this year.
Shakira sold off her entire body of work for an undisclosed sum while Neil parted with 50 percent of his recordings for an estimated $150 million.
Other songs included in Justin’s deal include ‘Cry Me A River’, Rock Your Body’ and ‘Senorita’.
As well as the music catalogue, the company will also take ownership of Justin’s copyright and the publisher’s share of his public performances of the tracks.

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher claims hackers sabotaged his official website to spread a false rumour suggesting he’s cancelled his upcoming gig in Manchester.
The former ‘Oasis’ star is set to play a special show on June 1 at the Etihad Stadium – it’s the home of his beloved Manchester City Football Club and comes just days after they won the Premiere League title.
However, Liam has revealed pranksters broke into his site and falsely wrote that the show had been called off, tweeting: “I hear some (bell) end has hacked my official website saying that the MANCHESTER gig is cancelled it’s not see ya there MCFC CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND LG x.”
When a fan asked if the culprits responsible for the hack had been caught, Liam replied: “Not yet but we will and I’ll tell you what they’ll be in BIG trouble only kidding a**ed it’s all good now as if I’m gonna cancel.”
Liam’s gig at the Etihad Stadium comes shortly before he’s due to return to play two shows at Knebworth House, the estate in Hertfordshire where ‘Oasis’ famously played two sold-out shows to more than 250,000 fans back in 1996.
Liam is performing there on June 3 and 4 and is expected to play for around 160,000 fans in total across the two shows.
He will then head to Glasgow, Cardiff and Belfast before taking his tour to Europe with dates in Denmark, Spain, and Portugal in June.
The former ‘Beady Eye’ frontman also has shows lined up in Italy, New Zealand and Australia in July as well as South America later in the year.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Bush has made a return to the charts after her iconic song ‘Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)’ was featured in the new series of ‘Stranger Things’.
The pop legend’s track was included in the first episode of season four of the hit Netflix show and it has surged up the iTunes chart in the US to number one since the new shows landed on the streaming service on May 27.
‘Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)’ is from Kate’s ‘Hounds of Love’ album and it peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart following its release in 1985.
Kate previously opened up about the meaning of the lyrics, saying back in 1985: “It’s about a relationship between a man and a woman. They love each other very much, and the power of the relationship is something that gets in the way.
“It creates insecurities. It’s saying if the man could be the woman and the woman the man, if they could make a deal with God, to change places, that they’d understand what it’s like to be the other person and perhaps it would clear up misunderstandings. You know, all the little problems; there would be no problem.”
It’s not the first time ‘Stranger Things’ has given a song a major boost – series three featured the theme tune to 1984 fantasy film ‘The NeverEnding Story’.
The music video for the song by Limahl became a huge hit on YouTube, with bosses revealing searches spiked by 800 percent after the episode featuring it dropped on Netflix.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Navarro has been suffering from long COVID since December.
The Jane’s Addiction guitarist took to Instagram to tell fans he is suffering from “pretty awful” fatigue and isolation, but he has been practicing meditation and yoga, which have been “very helpful”.
He wrote: “So yeah, I’m one of the ones who came down with the ‘long haul covid’. Been sick since December and supposedly will be back to my old self in… nobody knows how long.
“If there are any of you who are still suffering long after your negative results, I’m just saying you aren’t alone. The fatigue and isolation is pretty awful but try to spend your time with the ones you love and stay creative. That’s how I’m trying to get through this thing. Also lots of spiritual practices, meditation and yoga have been very helpful. I’ll be ok, just don’t know when.
“PS I’m not sure why I chose this picture to say all this. Maybe because who really cares and you gotta find fun somewhere? Or at least some levity. Love and laughter are wonderful antidotes for a sickness that you really can’t track. (sic)”
But the 54-year-old star – who previously played guitar for the Red Hot Chili Peppers – also told fans not to “worry” about him.
In a post, which has now been deleted, he wrote: “Anyway thanks for listening and don’t worry about me. All indicators are pointing to a full recovery at some point!
“There’s really no more to say on the matter so I’d appreciate not receiving a bunch of DMs or texts. Not out of disrespect for you guys, I’m just so tired of talking about this, I’m sure you can imagine!

OHMYGOSSIP — Avril Lavigne wants to release a cookbook.
The pop punk icon recently returned to her roots on February’s ‘Love Sux’ album and is known to be making a movie based on her biggest hit, ‘Sk8er Boi’, and that’s not all.
The 37-year-old musician – who is engaged to fellow rocker Mod Sun – has revealed she is keen to publish a book of her “gourmet” recipes, drop a makeup line and even record a Christmas album.
In an interview with The Guardian newspaper, she said: “My food is, like, gourmet.
“I can do everything! Pasta, sauce, vegan, salads and soups – I can do every kind of soup.”
The ‘Complicated’ hitmaker has come a long way since being fired from her job at a fried chicken shop.
Avril admits it’s surreal that her seminal debut album, 2002’s ‘Let Go’, resonated so much and catapulted her to fame, because it’s just about her “small town life and obsession with skater boys” as a teen.
She said: “I wrote this album right when I got out of high school and now I get to hear these lyrics of me talking about my small town and my obsession with skater boys.
“Even things like in ‘My World’, I literally talk about the fact that I got fired by a ‘fried chicken ass’ I worked for at a fried chicken chain. It’s hilarious. I look back at those lyrics, and I’m like: ‘I can’t believe I said that in a song.’”
Meanwhile, Avril recently revealed she would love to work with Taylor Swift after the ‘Love Story’ singer sent her congratulatory flowers for her comeback album.
She said: “I mean, Taylor’s amazing! Anything could happen. I’m down [for a collaboration]! She’s lovely. When my album came out she sent flowers and a sweet note saying she was loving the new album.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rina Sawayama’s upcoming album is inspired by Taylor Swift’s ‘Folklore’.
The ‘Chosen Family’ singer has revealed how the pop megastar’s 2020 LP, “a collection of songs and stories that flowed like a stream of consciousness” out of her imagination, influenced her forthcoming album, ‘Hold the Girl’.
In an interview with Rolling Stone UK, Rina said: “I remember when Taylor Swift released ‘Folklore’, I was like, ‘This b**** is writing about fake stories and she just wrote a whole album. If she can do it, I need to do it.’”
The 31-year-old singer’s trauma is interwoven into the 13 songs on the record, but she’s not ready to address what she went through directly yet.
Rina explained: “For me, it’s important that the listener is able to listen to it as a pop record first without that background, [and] make their own feelings about it.
“And then, when I’m ready, I think I will be able to talk about what it’s actually about.”
Rina used the new therapy she had to inform the tracks.
She admitted: “It was emotionally and personally one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.”
On how it shaped her follow-up to her 2020 debut studio album, ‘Sawayama’, she added: “The new kind of therapy really opened up new points of exploration and I really wanted to see whether I could make those things into a pop song.”
Taylor is not the only megastar who has influenced Rina.
Speaking about her idol Lady Gaga, she previously said: “I met her for the first time because our bus broke down outside Vegas.
“I was like, ‘Wouldn’t it be fun if we just spent the night in Vegas and saw a show. Imagine if Gaga is on’.
“We had a connection because I was on her remix album.
“I was able to meet her for the first time backstage and she was so sweet, so warm and so full of life.
“She is so influential to me. I don’t really get nervous before meeting people, like I didn’t before meeting Elton [John]. But I was a bit nervous before meeting Lady Gaga.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Spiritualized and Kae Tempest are among the new batch of artists announced to join Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds at Luno presents All Points East 2022.
The Smile, Michael Kiwanuka, Sleaford Mods, Aldous Harding, Anna Calvi, Japanese Breakfast, and Jehnny Beth were previously confirmed to play before Nick Cave and co at London’s Victoria Park on August 28, and further acts have joined the stellar lineup.
As well as space rock legends Spiritualized and poet Kae Tempest, jazz star Robert Glasper, Hurray For The Riff Raff, Nick’s collaborators Party Dozen , Starcrawler and Chilli Jesson of Palma Violets fame will also perform.
Meanwhile, APE teamed up with Ray-Ban to host a trio of intimate gigs in London.
The ‘Ray-Ban X APE present The Summer Sessions’ kicked off on May 26, with Sherelle headlining Colour Factory in Hackney Wick, London.
The DJ-and-producer was joined by Nia Archives – who was crowned Best Producer at the BandLab NME Awards earlier this year – musician and visual/audio artist LCY and Foundation FM.
KOKO in Camden is still set to play host to Kenny Beats and more on June 8, and Self Esteem is playing Earth at Dalston on July 14.
AEG Presents commented: “Ray-Ban has been a partner of Luno presents All Points East since its launch in 2018 and we’re really pleased to develop our relationship further with these intimate shows this summer. The festival is going to be a huge celebration of music and we’re delighted to have Ray-Ban partner with us again on the West Stage across both weekends.”
The concerts are also making an effort to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
A press release notes: “Each night, BMW will be plugging into All Points East’s sustainability policies, with a fleet of all-electric BMW iX providing artist transportation, actively reducing each event’s carbon footprint.”
Nia and Self Esteem are also supporting Gorillaz when they play APE at London’s Victoria Park on August 19.
APE Presents: Field Day is back on August 20, with The Chemical Brothers and Kraftwerk co-headlining.
Tame Impala headline on August 25, The National on August 26, dance duo Disclosure on August 27, followed by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds on August 28.

The hip-hop superstar – who recently welcomed his first child, a son, with Rihanna – quashed rumours that his follow-up to 2018’s ‘Testing’ is called ‘All Smiles’, before delving into what fans can expect from his “more polished” tunes.
In an interview with Dazed magazine, he spilled: “One thing I can tell you is that the name isn’t gonna be ‘All Smiles’ – you know, I never publicly said that my album was called ‘All Smiles’. That one is more of a concept project, it’s music and more.
“I’m wrapping up the new album now; I’ve been shooting so many visuals for it. I don’t want to be cliché or sound like a salesman, but I’ve pushed myself to the limit on everything. Going from that industrial, subversive sound from ‘Testing’ and then graduating with a more polished sound … I just like where it is.”
In the wide-ranging chat, the ‘Everyday’ rapper also spoke about parenthood and his hopes and dreams for his offspring.
The music star said: “I will always remind my children to never lose their imagination, even as adults, no matter what.”
He told the publication he wants to raise “open-minded children” and “not people who discriminate”.
The 33-year-old rapper added: “And I’m not trying to describe a saint, but realistically, I just want a cool child with cool parents.”
Rocky is massively into his cartoons and will happily sit and watch TV with his kid, adding: “I actually love to watch cartoons — I’ve watched like, ‘Teletubbies’, ‘Blue’s Clues’, ‘Yo Gabba Gabba’, ‘Peppa Pig’ and ‘Baby Shark’.”
Rocky released the single ‘D.M.B.’earlier this month, along with a music video featuring Rihanna.

The ‘Super Duper Lover’ hitmaker – who has daughter Violet, 18 months, with partner Cody DaLuz – is pregnant with her second child after she suffered a devastating miscarriage last year, and she has admitted that being a mum is what she wants to do now, and she’d only consider hitting the road again once her little girl is at school.
Speaking on the ‘Sweat, Snot and Tears’ podcast, she said: “I just don’t want to leave Violet, I just don’t want to do that.
Touring with babies when they’re small is completely doable. Cody works from his computer on the bus. He walks me to the stage with Violet. He goes back, gives her a bath and by the time I’m finished on stage, it’s time to put her to bed. So it’s perfect.
“For me, I’ve completely let go of it. I’ll only be doing the touring stuff when she’s going to school if I can’t keep the lights on any other way because I’m good. I’ve done my touring.
“I’ve wanted to be a mum for so long. This is the thing I want to do.”
Instead of touring, the 35-year-old singer – who returned to the spotlight after winning ‘The Masked Singer’ in 2021 – is keen to pen tunes for other artists.
She added: “My dream is to write for other singers. I can do that from home. So I could drop Violet at school, come home, write some songs and go pick her up. That’s what I would love.
“If I can set my life up like that, that would be perfect.”
Joss announced the news of both her heartbreaking miscarriage and pregnancy in October.
She said on the podcast: “It was the most awful thing I think that has happened ever in my life.
”I didn’t share it for a very long time but when I got pregnant again … I don’t know, I felt like I did have a baby in me before and no one knew him.
“It was like say, ‘Okay yeah, we are having a baby again and it’s so good’ but it’s like what happened to the little baby before?’
“I think he was a he, I don’t know because it was only nine weeks, but he was my little baby and now he’s somehow still part of my world.
“So it feels like that if I was to mention this one and not mention him, it like not talking about one of your kids and that made me feel bad.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Used have pulled out of Slam Dunk festival as frontman Bert McCracken seeks help for his mental health.
The 40-year-old rocker has revealed he’s been facing “new and overwhelming challenges” lately, and needs to receive “professional treatment” and prioritise his wellbeing.
As a result, the ‘I Caught Fire’ band have decided to cancel their upcoming slots at the alternative music festival, which is held at Temple Newsam in Leeds on Saturday (04.06.22) and Hatfield Park in Hertfordshire on Sunday (05.06.22).
In a social media statement, Bert – whose full name is Robert Edward McCracken – said: “I have always been open about my struggle with mental health and have recently found myself facing new and overwhelming challenges. For this reason, I won’t be able to play the upcoming shows at Slam Dunk. I am so sorry but needed to make this decision to focus on professional treatment and self-care. Performing live for The Used fans is one of my greatest joys, and I can’t imagine doing anything else. We have the best fans in the world, thank you for your undying support.

Fans attending the two sister festivals, which have the same lineup, will still be able to catch the likes of Sum 41, Alexisonfire, Beartooth and Dropkick Murphys.

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Butler has released his first solo music since departing Arcade Fire.
The 39-year-old musician announced in March that he had ended his 18-year tenure with the Canadian indie rock band – which also comprises brother Win and his wife Regine Chassagne, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury and Jeremy Gara – for no particular reason other than he feels their direction has “changed” somewhat.
In a series of tweets, Will explained that he left before the group’s forthcoming LP, ‘We’, was recorded.
He told fans: “Hi friends – I’ve left Arcade Fire … I left at the end of last year, after the new record was complete. There was no acute reason beyond that I’ve changed—and the band has changed—over the last almost 20 years. Time for new things.”
The group’s multi-instrumentalist and backing vocalist is instead focusing on new ventures, including being involved in the music for award-winning playwright David Adjmi’s next play alongside his own solo projects.
Will said: “I’m working on a new record; booking some shows this summer. I’m working on music for a David Adjmi play (which is so good). A few other projects percolating.”
The composer – who earned an Academy Award nomination for his work on the original score of the 2013 movie ‘Her’ – concluded by thanking fans for their support over the years and paid tribute to all the people behind the scenes who helped bring the band’s “vision to life”.
He added: “Thank you to anyone who’s come out to AF shows, or bought a record, or loves our music. It’s meaningful to be part of your lives. Thank you to the crew, staff, management, label people, bands, artists, and friends who have helped bring our vision to life for so many years.”
Arcade Fire’s first album since 2017’s ‘Everything Now’ is released on May 6.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Rolling Stones have a yoga room and gym area to prepare themselves for the opening night of their ‘SIXTY’ anniversary tour.
The ‘Start Me Up’ rockers – Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and touring drummer Steve Jordan – will kick off the European leg at Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano stadium in Spain on Wednesday night (01.06.22), and after six decades in the music business, they know just what they need to be able to work “like clockwork on stage”.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “The Stones are a well-oiled machine, and along with performing like clockwork on stage, they run a tight ship behind the scenes.
“Mick likes to work out with his personal trainer before each show, so they have a fully equipped workout room ready for him.
“And Ronnie and Keith have a special ‘tuning room’ where they jam and play together and Mick will join them for a warm-up session before they head out on stage.
“This time preparing and getting ready allows them to be at their very best for the crowds.”
The shows will feature a tribute to late drummer Charlie Watts, who died aged 80 in 2021.
The insider added: “Charlie is at the forefront of everyone’s minds going into these gigs and he will be fondly remembered.
“There will be a special tribute to him that plays out on a big screen, and the band will honour him during the show.”
Frontman Mick, 78, recently admitted he misses his late bandmate every time he hits the stage or rehearses.
He said: “I don’t really expect him to be there any more if I turn round during a show. But I do think about him. Not only during rehearsals or on stage, but in other ways too. I would have phoned him up and talked about last night’s Arsenal game because he supported Tottenham and I’m Arsenal. I miss him as a player and as a friend.”
Around the halfway point of the jaunt, the ‘Paint it Black’ band will play two nights at London’s American Express presents BST Hyde Park on June 25 and July 3.
The run concludes in Stockholm, Sweden on July 31.

OHMYGOSSIP — Blue have joked that they are going to book in some “after-show physiotherapy” after rehearsals for their comeback tour got the better of them.
The reunited boy band – comprising Lee Ryan, 38, Duncan James, 43, Simon Webbe, 44, and Antony Costa, 40 – have suffered a few minor knocks during the preparations for their December jaunt.
Antony told Hits Radio: “I’ve pulled a hammy (hamstring), my arm went!”
Simon said: “My bicep seized up holding up from the holding the mic and we just looked at each other and went, ‘How are we going to get through a tour?'”
Prompting Duncan to quip: “Back in the day we used to have after-show parties but this time it’s going to be after-show physiotherapy.”
The ‘One Love’ hitmakers previously revealed they won’t be partying on their ‘Heart and Soul’ tour to mark two decades since the release of their debut album ‘All Rise’, and they are doing everything they can to make sure they’re in tip-top shape.
Lee said: “I don’t think we’re that kind of band any more. We have different ideas now.
“We want to put on a good show first and, being a bit older now, you can’t do the dual thing of partying and putting on a good show.”
Simon added: “We’ve got to see if we can do it physically!”
Meanwhile, they suggested their longevity and passion comes from the fact they all “wanted to be in a boy band” rather than finding themselves chasing solo careers.
Simon explained: “What makes us special is each individual wanted to be in a boyband when we got together.
“We didn’t want to be solo artists who use bands as [a] stepping stone. We were always mates before we were in a band.”
The ‘Heart and Soul’ tour kicks off on December 4 at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena, and wraps in Newcastle on December 20.
The band’s album of the same name is released in September, and includes the recently released single, ‘Haven’t Found You Yet’.
