OHMYGOSSIP — Jungkook has scrapped a lot of solo songs because they “didn’t sound good”.
The BTS star has explained he hasn’t released as many standalone tracks as his bandmates because while he’s written a plenty of material, he wasn’t pleased with the way they were going.
Speaking to Weverse Magazine, he said: “[They are] so many songs I’ve written that I haven’t been able to release.
“After making the effort to write them, I should have realised I should just edit them as much as I can to release them.
“But when I heard them again after a while, they didn’t sound good, so I just deleted them all.”
However, Jungbook revealed his bandmates – who all announced plans to go on a “temporary hiatus” to focus on their solo careers – have been supportive of his writing.
He added: “The other members tell me, ‘You have to keep making releases. That’s how you figure it all out.’ So I’m writing songs lately.”
And he insisted he wants to create something “really unique”.
He explained: “I want it to be really unique. I want to write lyrics that don’t have any meaning, like a song where the word ‘yeah’ is repeated for a whole verse – something like that – but it’s hard.”
Septet Jin, 29, Suga, 29, J-Hope, 28, RM, 27, V, 26, Jimin, 26, and Jungkook, 24, broke the news of their hiatus to their armies of fans during their annual FESTA dinner which celebrated the hugely popular band’s nine years together.
RM said it was time for them to work on their own, adding: “I always thought that BTS was different from other groups, but the problem with K-pop and the whole idol system is that they don’t give you time to mature.
“You have to keep producing music and keep doing something.”
J-Hope added: “I think we should spend some time apart to learn how to be one again. I hope you don’t see this as a negative thing, and see it as a healthy plan. I think BTS will become stronger that way.”
V insisted they were not splitting and vowed the band’s “synergy will be like no other” when they regroup.

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce is reportedly planning to stage a series of secret “pop-up shows” around the UK to celebrate the release of her new album.
The pop superstar is believed to be gearing up to launch her first new solo record in six years, and The Sun reports she wants to mark it with a series of “intimate” performances before launching a large scale tour later on.
A source told the publication: “(The promotional campaign) will focus on live experiences outside of touring, including intimate shows and pop-up performances.
“She is planning to spend a lot of time performing and promoting it in the UK, so there will be unique surprises in store for the British fans.
“People in her camp have scouted out venues for her to perform at when the music comes out and then there will be another huge tour later on.”
The insider added the album was mostly written during the COVID-19 pandemic during a time when Beyonce was “desperate” to get back out on stage and perform for her fans.
Last year, Sony Records bosses suggested a new Beyonce record will be released in 2022 and she recently fuelled speculation about new music by removing her pictures from her social media accounts.
Many fans think removing the images means they will soon be replaced by new promo shots linked to the new album.
The record will be Beyonce’s seventh solo album and follows her last release, ‘Lemonade’ in 2016. Her last big solo tour was ‘The Formation World Tour’ in 2016 while she hit the road again in 2018 to perform with her husband Jay Z on his ‘On The Run II Tour’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Bush says it’s “so exciting” after her 1985 hit ‘Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)’ reached the top 5 in the US.
The 63-year-old star recently celebrated the song being given “a whole new lease of life” after it was featured in the popular Netflix sci-fi horror series ‘Stranger Things’, went viral on TikTok and then proceeded to re-enter the charts in several countries.
And it continues to climb the charts, hitting No.1 in Norway and Austria and No.4 in the US, giving Kate her first-ever Top 5 hit in America.
In a fresh statement, she said: “It’s all so exciting! Since the last post, ‘Running Up That Hill’ has gone to No. 1 in Norway and Austria. This is such great news and we just heard today that it’s up from No. 8 to No. 4 in the U.S.
“The track is being responded to in so many positive ways. I’ve never experienced anything quite like this before!
“I just want to say a really big thank you to everyone in the U.S. who has supported the song.

Declaring her love for ‘Stranger Things’, the ‘Wuthering Heights’ singer said previously: “You might’ve heard that the first part of the fantastic, gripping new series of ‘Stranger Things’ has recently been released on Netflix. OHMYGOSSIP — Bananarama have shared the title track from their new album ‘Masquerade’.
The ‘Cruel Summer’ hitmakers – now a duo comprising Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward – are celebrating their 40th anniversary with their first new music since their 2019 comeback LP ‘In Stereo’.
The latest single, an ode to 80s synth-pop in the vein of the Pet Shop Boys, follows April’s ‘Favourite’.
Sara said of ‘Masquerade’: “When I was in lockdown there were a lot of conversations happening to do with inclusivity, diversity and gender and racial equality.
“So I had this idea of ‘masquerade’: how you present yourself in different ways depending on the situation, but really, you just want people to be able to live how they want to live. It’s a song we’re really very proud of.”
Electro-pop song ‘Favourite’ was originally featured on Sara’s singer-songwriter daughter Alice Dallin-Walker’s (Alice D) 2018 LP ‘Narcissus’, and she still features on the new rendition, but they have made it their own.
Keren said: “It’s just a brilliant pop song.
“We’ve done a different take on it but with Alice on backing vocals because we couldn’t not use her ad libs, they’re just too good.”
The duo had only intended to release an EP, but when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and their live shows were shelved, the pair decided to carry on their songwriting journey.
Sara, 60, said: “I love writing songs it’s probably my favourite part. Shutting myself away and coming up with ideas and then telling a story in less than 4 minutes, it really is quite an art.”
Keren, 61, agreed: “Arranging the music, vocals and harmonies really is our forte.”
Bananarama – who have sold more than 30 million records – are celebrating four decades since the release of their debut single, ‘Aie a Mwana’.
‘Masquerade’ the album is released on July 22.

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor, Liam Gallagher and more are set to play at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium.
The Foo Fighters will play London on September 3 and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on September 27 to honour their “beloved bandmate”, who tragically passed away at the age of 50 in March.
And the lineup for the London date has been unveiled.
Taylor was a huge Queen and Oasis fanatic, and the two surviving members of the ‘We Will Rock You’ group who still perform will take to the stage in his memory, along with drummer Roger’s son Rufus Taylor, who plays drums for The Darkness.
Former Oasis frontman Liam – who became acquainted with Taylor and the rest of the Foos over the years – is also on the star-studded bill.
Chris Chaney, who was in the supergroup NHC with Taylor and his Jane’s Addiction bandmate Dave Navarro, as well as the stickman’s side project Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, will also perform.
Plus, former Police rocker Stewart Copeland, Joshua Homme, Chrissie Hynde, Rush’s Geddy Lee, Mark Ronson, Supergrass and Wolfgang Van Halen, son of the late Eddie Van Halen.
There will also be a special guest appearance from stand-up Dave Chappelle.
More acts are set to be confirmed, plus the lineup for the Los Angeles show will be revealed later today (15.06.22).
A blog post on the Foos’ website noted that: “The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts will benefit charities in both the UK and the US chosen by the Hawkins family. Beneficiaries and further details will be announced shortly.”
The tribute concerts have been organised by Taylor’s family together with his bandmates Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jaffee.
The ‘Best of You’ band said they would be teaming up with artists who inspired and were inspired by the late musician, “playing the songs that he fell in love with, and the ones he brought to life”.
In a statement, his widow Alison said: “My deepest thanks and admiration go out to the global Foo Fighters community and Taylor’s fans far and wide for the outpouring of love each and every one of you have shown our beloved Taylor.
“Your kindness has been an invaluable comfort for my family and me during this time of unimaginable grief.
“As Taylor’s wife, and on behalf of our children, I want to share how much you meant to him and how dedicated he was to ‘knocking your socks off’ during every performance.”
She added that Taylor was “honoured” to be part of the band and loved “his dream role” over the 25 years he spent playing with them.
She continued: “We consider every band member and the extended Foo Fighters team our family.
“Taylor’s endearing spirit and deep love of music will on forever through the collaborations he so enjoyed having with other musicians and the catalog of songs he contributed to and created.
“In celebration of his life, it is now up to all of us who loved him most to honor Taylor’s legacy and the music he gave us.”

The ‘Circles’ hitmaker just dropped his fourth studio effort, ‘Twelve Carat Toothache’, and became a father for the first time after his fiancée gave birth to their little girl.
The chart-topper has a hectic schedule, between his music career and now being a father, but if he ever gets a lengthy period of downtime again, he’d love to write some country songs.
Speaking on ‘The Howard Stern Show’ on SiriusXM, he said: “To be honest, there’s nothing stopping me from taking a camera or setting up in my studio in Utah and just recording a country album [to put] on YouTube.
“I’m allowed to do that, I’m a human being.”
He continued: “[I] split my time between a lot of different things because I am happily obligated to do concerts and show love to my fans … and then I’m happily obligated to write music and make beats by myself, and I’m happily obligated to, you know, take care of my family.
“So, it’s a lot of time, and it’s about finding that space to allot that time.”
He insisted: “If I get another year to myself, maybe I’ll make a f****** country album.”
The 26-year-old star previously revealed his mom raised him on country music.
He said in 2017: “My love of country music came from my mom.
Whenever I was a little kid, a little niño, my mom would always play country in the car, so I guess that’s kinda where it came from.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Weeknd and Arcade Fire are among the artists in contention for the 2022 Polaris Music Prize.
The Canadian version of the UK’s Mercury Prize “honours and rewards artists who produce Canadian music albums of distinction”.
‘Blinding Lights’ hitmaker The Weeknd, 32, is nominated for his fifth studio album, ‘Dawn FM’, which reached number one in more than 10 countries, including the UK.
And the indie rock group’s acclaimed LP ‘WE’ also made the longlist.
Other notable names on the list include Orville Peck (‘Bronco’), punk rockers PUP (‘THE UNRAVELING OF PUPTHEBAND’) and rock band Destroyer (‘Labyrinthitis’).
Edmonton rapper Cadence Weapon’s album ‘Parallel World’ won the 2021 prize.
Earlier this year, The Weeknd became the most listened-to artist on Spotify.
The ‘Take My Breath’ singer broke the record previously set by Justin Bieber after amassing 85.66 million monthly listeners on the streaming service, just weeks after releasing ‘Dawn FM’.
Justin’s previous record was set with just under 84 million monthly listeners.
Meanwhile, The Weeknd recently teased ‘Dawn FM’ is part of a trilogy and a third instalment will follow.
He tweeted: “I wonder… did you know you’re experiencing a new trilogy?”
The title track sees Hollywood star Jim Carrey play a radio host, who vows “we’ll be there to hold your hand and guide you through this painless transition”, before launching into the synth-heavy track, ‘Gasoline’.
The star-studded collection also features guest spots from Tyler, the Creator and Lil Wayne, while synth maestro, Oneohtrix Point Never, real name Daniel Lopatin, and Quincy Jones are listed as collaborators.
The latter contributed the heartbreaking passage, ‘A Tale By Quincy’.
The 16-track record concludes with another spoken-word piece from Carrey.
The shortlist for the Polaris Music Prize will be announced on July 14, with the overall winner announced at a ceremony in Toronto on September 19.

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve Aoki will release his new album, ‘HiROQUEST’, on September 16.
After just dropping the latest track, ‘Just Us Two’, featuring emo rock legends Taking Back Sunday, the world-famous DJ has unveiled the full track-listing for his follow-up to 2020’s ‘Neon Future IV’.
In a statement, the ‘Just Hold On’ hitmaker said of the genre-hopping 26-track collection: “The music is a connecting tissue to this universe that I’m creating.
“This album tells a fantastical story, but it’s also about freedom from restraint. I went right back to my roots – that raw, rock energy and that became the basis of it. From there, I began to explore everything and it sprouted into so many different genres.”
It’s a mixture of collaborations on solo cuts, including ‘Kult’ with grandson and Jasiah and ‘Save Me’ with HRVY.
The 44-year-old producer and record label owner said: “Almost everything I do is some level of collaboration, whether it’s fashion, technology, music, art or culture.
“I love this idea that we can come together and put aside the things from our past that may have hardened or jaded us, and just be free.”
Aoki is also releasing a collectible trading card game by MetaZoo Games, which he co-founded in March 2021.
A press release states: “The songs of ‘HiROQUEST’ will comprise five chapters, each detailing a different mythological faction, and the album opens the door for fans to enter a vast world that threads together the music with a new collectible trading card game co-created with MetaZoo Games, which Aoki co-founded and launched in March of 2021.”

The acclaimed music photographer has teamed up with the premium pilsner brand to mark the start of a summer of live music with a series of collector’s edition swing-top beer bottles documenting the crowds at festivals, gigs, and other live shows, with a run of just 100 available.
Dean said: “It’s great to be part of this exciting new Grolsch campaign that celebrates the live gig experience from the crowd’s perspective, and gives back to the live music industry through the Music Venue Trust.

The ‘Ironic’ hitmaker and ‘Midnight Sky’ singer will be joined by Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, KISS’ Gene Simmons, Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx and more at the Kia Forum on September 27 to honour the life and legacy of the late Foo Fighters drummer, who tragically passed away at the age of 50 in March.

Amid reports that the ‘Love On Top’ singer is preparing to release her first album in six years, Beyonce wiped her display picture from all of her social media pages, and now she’s teased a release date of July 29 in her bio.
It reads: “act i, RENAISSANCE, 7.29.”
This suggests the 40-year-old megastar’s project could come in more than one part.
What’s more, several streaming platforms, including Spotify, TIDAL and Apple Music, have shared an image with the title.
The official Spotify page tweeted: “The countdown has officially begun. Beyoncé’s back July 29.”
Apple Music wrote: “@Beyonce’s #RENAISSANCE coming July 29.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Vamps have promised fire and lasers on their 10 year anniversary tour.
The ‘Can We Dance’ hitmakers are celebrating a decade as a group when they hit the road later this year, and they’re looking forward to putting on a real show featuring a fan-pleasing ‘greatest hits’ set.
Drummer Tristan Evans told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “We’ve never done a tour where we will play all of the hits.
“We want songs people can rock out to so we are putting all our energy, blood, sweat and tears into this tour because it’s going to be crazy!
“For this tour, it’s bigger, there is a lot more production where we can do fireworks, fire, lasers and all that.”
Meanwhile, bassist Connor Ball revealed he is keen to transform his instrument into a flamethrower to build on previous stunts.
He added: “In the past, I have had fireworks come out of my guitar so we want to push that without burning me, ideally.”
The Vamps will start their tour with a show at Manchester’s O2 Apollo on November 23, and they’ll be putting a fresh spin on their older tracks.
Tristan explained: “It’s more in your face, getting people signing. It’s still the same songs but I think in a cooler way.”
The band – completed by Brad Simpson and James Brittain-McVey – previously revealed they are keen to “celebrate” their whole career, and they noted how “special” the early period was working on debut album ‘Meet the Vamps’.
Back in April, Brad said: “That time around the first album was special for us, so we want to celebrate that music and breathe new life into it.
“We’ve got some fun ideas about reinterpreting old songs.”

OHMYGOSSIP — An unreleased version of David Bowie’s ‘Starman’ has been revealed to celebrate 50 years of ‘The Rise And Fall of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars’.
The late musician’s iconic album was released on June 16, 1972 and Parlophone Records has marked the occasion with a special streaming single.
‘Starman (Top of the Pops Version 2022 Mix)’ has been based on the BBC’s master of the ‘Top of the Pop’s broadcast recording.
The master itself was first released on the ‘Starman’ 7″ picture disc a decade ago.
According to the Musicians Reunion rules in 1972, in order to appear on ‘Top of the Pops’, the artist had to re-record their track and sing live over the top.
The new 2022 version of ‘Starman’ takes the backing track – which was recorded at Trident Studios) for the purpose of the show – and lead vocals from the album version.
The fresh mix comes from ‘Ziggy Stardust’ co-producer Ken Scott after he created it earlier this year from the multi-tracks.
In another move to celebrate the iconic album, it’s being released as a “limited edition 50th anniversary half speed mastered LP and a picture disc”, which includes the same master and a replica promotional poster.
Meanwhile, Tim Burgess is marking the occasion with a special listening party on Twitter at 10.30pm on Thursday (16.06.22).
He said: “I’m really excited to be hosting a Ziggy Stardust Listening Party on the 50th anniversary of the album’s release.
“Fans from all around the world can take part and we’ve enlisted a few friends to help us out too.”
Bowie sadly died aged 69 in January 2016 following a secret cancer battle.

The ‘Savage’ hitmaker has been working hard on the highly anticipated follow up to 2020’s debut LP ‘Good News’ and has 25 to 30 songs to choose from for the upcoming collection.
She told Rolling Stone magazine: “I want to take you through so many different emotions.
“At first you was twerking, now you might be crying.”
The 27-year-old star revealed she is always writing, whether that’s in the car, in bed or even while she’s showering.
She added: “I put my phone outside the shower but close enough to where I could still tap it. S*** be getting wet all the time, f****** up my phones.
“It’s a whole movie trying to write in the shower, but I keep my speaker loud and I just freestyle, and then I write it down when I get out.”
Meanwhile, Megan is keen to keep building her legacy as a writer and performer, and she wants to go down in history as “one of the best”.
She said: “I just always want people to remember, ‘Yes, Megan Thee Stallion, she was great, she was a rapper. She was one of the best rappers, the coldest.’ ”
The ‘WAP’ star previously hit out at “uproar” and “crazy double standards” over her explicit ‘Sweetest Pie’ collaboration with Dua Lipa.
She said: “A boy could start rapping about popping pills and enjoying four women at one time and nobody would have a problem with that.
“But if Megan Thee Stallion says, ‘Eat my p****’ one time, there’s uproar. Like, ‘You better not ever say that word again in your life’.
“I definitely have to let people know that pleasure does not go one way. So if you get offended by a woman talking about how she likes to be pleased, then I think you need to take a step back and re-evaluate what you’re into.”
She added: “It definitely is a crazy double standard. But I feel like we are girls, right, and sometimes I just have to take it as everybody knows that we are superior.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Suga is “working hard” on his next solo album.
The BTS rapper – who released his second mixtape ‘D-2′ in May 2020 – has revealed he is preparing for his next project, noting that he wants to promote his work through “the same system that regular groups do when they’re promoting and have a lead single and a B-side”.
He told Weverse Magazine: “Ah, what should I do? I’m working hard on a follow-up to ‘D-2.’ ”
The star insisted he wants to keep making music, and not be tied down to any specific genre.
He explained: “I tried songs in various styles on ‘D-2’, too.
“I feel like I might not be able to become a master of one genre, but I can wear many hats… There’s still so much I want to do.
“I have no feel for what kind of music I’m going to be making in my 30s, 40s or 50s, but I want to keep doing music until the day I die.”
The 29-year-old star’s comments come after he and his BTS bandmates confirmed they are going on a “temporary hiatus”.
Suga – along with Septet Jin, 29, J-Hope, 28, RM, 27, V, 26, Jimin, 26, and Jungkook, 24 – broke the news of their hiatus to their armies of fans during their annual FESTA dinner which celebrated the hugely popular band’s nine years together.
RM said it was time for them to work on their own, adding: “I always thought that BTS was different from other groups, but the problem with K-pop and the whole idol system is that they don’t give you time to mature.
“You have to keep producing music and keep doing something.”
J-Hope said: “I think we should spend some time apart to learn how to be one again. I hope you don’t see this as a negative thing, and see it as a healthy plan. I think BTS will become stronger that way.”
V insisted they were not splitting and vowed the band’s “synergy will be like no other” when they regroup.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Libertines will perform ‘Up the Bracket’ in full for a special 20th anniversary show.
The ‘Time For Heroes’ indie rockers will celebrate 20 years since the release of their debut album at London’s Wembley Arena next month by performing the entire record alongside other classic tracks.
The one night only performance on July 23 will see the group joins by The Cribs, The Paddingtons and Louis Dunford, alongside with DJ Amazonica.
The band will also release a special 20th Anniversary Edition of ‘Up the Bracket’ on October 21 through Rough Trade.
As well as a remastered edition of the original album – produced by Mick Jones – the Super Deluxe Edition will come with 65 previously unreleased recordings including original demos, live recordings and radio sessions, as well as a live 2002 recording from the 100 Club.
The set will also come with a 60-page book featuring a foreword by Matt Wilkinson, new interviews with the band by Anthony Thornton, alongside unseen photos and memorabilia.
Meanwhile, Pete Doherty – who fronts the band alongside Carl Barat, John Hassall and Gary Powell – recently teased plans for a follow-up to 2015’s ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth’.
He said: “We still feel there’s unfinished business and there are more songs to write. But he [Barat] doesn’t want to do it in England, or in France, which he sees as my turf.
“So the plan is to go to Jamaica and try to make another Libertines record.”
Earlier this year, he confirmed the collection will have a similarly eclectic mix of genres as The Clash’s ‘Sandinista’.
He teased: “I don’t know how or when it’s going to happen but I think it will.
“‘Sandinista’ still encapsulates it because there are still a lot of ideas. It’s just about getting everyone in a room and getting on with it.”
