OHMYGOSSIP — Coldplay have been forced to cancel a string of gigs after Chris Martin contracted a “serious lung infection”.
The ‘Viva La Vida’ hitmakers have postponed next week’s concerts in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil, after the 45-year-old singer was placed under “strict” orders to rest for at least three weeks by his doctors, though new dates for the shows have yet to be announced.
The group said in a statement: “With deep regret, we’ve been forced to postpone our upcoming shows in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo until early 2023.
“Due to a serious lung infection, Chris has been put under strict doctor’s orders to rest for the next three weeks. We’re working as fast as possible to lock in the new dates and will follow up with more information in the next few days.”
The band went on to apologise to disappointed fans but insisted they needed to “prioritise Chris’ health”.
They added in a statement: “To everyone in Brazil who was looking forward to these concerts, we’re extremely sorry for any disappointment and inconvenience, and we’re so grateful for your understanding at this challenging time where we need to prioritise Chris’ health.
“Please hold onto your tickets as they will be valid for the new rescheduled dates. These will happen in early 2023 and will be announced very soon. However, we will also honour all requests for ticket refunds – which will be available at the point of sale.
“We’re optimistic that Chris will return to good health after the prescribed medical break and look forward to resuming the tour as soon as possible. To everyone affected, please accept our sincere apologies, and thank you as always for your love and support.”
Following the Brazilian gigs, the group are scheduled to perform 10 concerts in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 25 October, with the shows still expected to go ahead at this time.

OHMYGOSSIP — Depeche Mode have announced their first album and tour since the passing of bandmate Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher.
Dave Gahan and Martin Gore vowed to honour the memory of the co-founding member of the ‘Enjoy The Silence’ group – who died aged 60 in June – by completing the upcoming LP, ‘Memento Mori’, which is due out next spring.
The duo will also embark on a tour of North America, including stops at New York’s Madison Square Garden, Chicago’s United Center, Los Angeles’ Kia Forum and Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena in March 2023, and play London’s Twickenham Stadium on June 17, as part of the European leg of the jaunt in support of the record.
Speaking about the album, Martin, 61, commented: “We started work on this project early in the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time. After Fletch’s passing, we decided to continue as we’re sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning.”
Dave, 60, added: “Fletch would have loved this album. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to present it to you live at the shows next year.”
It will mark their first tour since 2017 and 2018’s ‘Global Spirit Tour’ in support of their chart-topping LP ‘Spirit’.
Dave and Martin thanked fans for the “outpouring of love” for the musician amid this “strange, sad, disorienting” time.
They wrote: “We wanted to take a moment and acknowledge the outpouring of love for Andy that we’ve seen from all of you over the last few weeks.
“It’s incredible to see all of your photos, to read your words, and to see how much Andy meant to all of you.
“As you can imagine, it’s been a strange, sad, disorienting few weeks for us here, to say the least.
“But we’ve seen and felt all of your love and support, and we know that Andy’s family has too.”
Confirming his cause of death, the pair revealed Fletch suffered an aortic dissection, a tear in the large blood vessel of the heart, and “passed naturally” and peacefully.
They added: “A couple weeks ago we received the result from the medical examiners, which Andy’s family asked us to share with you now. Andy suffered an aortic dissection while at home on May 26. So, even though it was far, far too soon, he passed naturally and without prolonged suffering.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Shaun Ryder has announced his first solo show in 11 years.
The Happy Mondays and Black Grape star will play a hometown charity gig at Manchester’s Factory 251 on October 7, which will see the ‘Step On’ hitmaker perform songs from his 2021 LP ‘Visits From Future Technology’.
The evening promises some “surprises”, and will see Creation Records founder and former Oasis manager, Alan McGee.
Shaun, 60, said: “I’m really looking forward to playing my first solo show in 11 years. It’ll be great to play some songs from my album ‘Visits from Future Technology’ live.”
It was Alan who suggested he revisit the record, which led to Shaun re-recording some of the vocals and Sonny Levine remixing the set.
All money raised on the night will benefit mental health charity Mind
Menswear retailers scotts – who recently featured Shaun and his son Olli in their Next Generation campaign – and the This Feeling club night and label are putting on the rare one-off concert.
Describing his second solo LP, Shaun said: “In my delusional ADHD brain it’s my ‘Sgt. Pepper’ [Beatles] full of different flavoured songs.”
In July, Happy Mondays released the charity EP ‘Tart Tart’ in memory of late bassist Paul Ryder.
The 58-year-old musician – the younger brother of founding member Shaun – was found dead just before they were due to take to the stage at the Kubix Festival in Sunderland on July 15.
And in his memory, the Manchester group shared two previously unreleased live versions of ‘Tart Tart’, which originally appeared on their 1987 debut album ‘Squirrel and G-Man Twenty Four Hour Party People Plastic Face Carnt Smile (White Out)’.
Shaun said: “This special release of ‘Tart Tart’ showcases the unique musical talent of our brother Paul Ryder who passed from this world … we will all miss you Horse…he brought the funk and the rock n roll to Happy Mondays … love you long time R kid.”
Money raised from the profits of the digital EP and single will be donated to the charity Music Cares, as chosen by his daughter, Amelia, who said: “Music Cares is a charity that helps people in the music industry who are struggling with addiction issues. 14 years ago, Paul was given help and support from the organisation that helped fund extended outpatient care and therapy that enabled him to have 14 subsequent happy and productive years. Just two weeks ago he mentioned them in an interview and often expressed his gratitude and desire to pay their support forward so others could be helped too.”
Confirming the sudden passing of Paul, the band – which originally comprised Paul, Shaun, Gary Whelan, Paul Davis and Mark ‘Bez’ Day – wrote on Facebook: “The Ryder family and Happy Mondays band members are deeply saddened and shocked to say that Paul Ryder passed away this morning.
“A true pioneer and legend. He will be forever missed.
“We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lindsey Buckingham has called off the remainder of his European tour due to “ongoing health issues”.
The former Fleetwood Mac guitarist, who underwent life-saving heart surgery in 2019, has been forced to pull the rest of his jaunt, with shows in Glasgow, Dublin and Liverpool this week axed.
A social media statement read: “Due to ongoing health issues, Lindsey is regrettably having to cancel the remaining shows on his current European tour.
“Refunds will be available from the point of purchase. Lindsey sends his deepest apologies to all of his fans who were planning to attend and hopes to return to Europe in the future.”
The 73-year-old musician’s last stop was at The London Palladium on October 1.
He’s still expected to complete a US tour, kicking off on October 26.
The music legend’s vocal cords were damaged during his heart surgery – which resulted in him putting planned gigs on hold.
Lindsey was ousted from Fleetwood Mac in January 2018, and he later filed a lawsuit alleging breach of fiduciary duty and breach of oral contract, but they later settled the lawsuit.
He was replaced by Crowded House’s Neil Finn on rhythm guitar and vocals.
Lindsey released his seventh self-titled solo studio last year.
Meanwhile, the songwriter sold his entire music catalogue to Hipgnosis Songs Fund in 2021.
Previously, the investment company had a 25 per cent share of the seminal musician’s catalogue, but the firm secured music publishing and songwriting rights for all 161 of his songs, including some he co-wrote during his time in the ‘Dreams’ group.
What’s more, Hipgnosis will claim a 50 per cent share in any future releases by Lindsey.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ellie Goulding gushed that it “means the world” to still be winning accolades after more than a decade in the music business upon receiving the BMI President’s Award.
The ‘Still Falling For You’ hitmaker was recognised for her “contributions to the art of music and songwriting” at the BMI London Awards at London’s Savoy Hotel on Monday (03.10.22), and she said it’s an “inexplicable honour” to still have continued success, 12 years on from the release of her debut studio album, ‘Lights’.
In her speech, the pop star said: “It means the world to me that I continue to have a career that I truly, truly love.
“It’s been 12 years since my debut album, so to have continued success, and to get to release new music with a team of people who believe in me as an artist, will always be an inexplicable honour.
“To reach new milestones and be respected with incredible accolades like the President’s Award tonight means everything and I couldn’t do it without you.”
Multi-platinum-selling singer Ellie, 35, already had 16 BMI Awards to her name, and she joins the likes of Jay Kay of Jamiroquai, Noel Gallagher, Imagine Dragons, Pink, and Brian Wilson as recipients of the prestigious President’s Award.
The ‘Brightest Blue’ singer said that ambition is crucial to a “long-lasting career” in the “tough” industry.
Ellie said: “In the UK particularly, and as a woman, it’s sort of ingrained into you that ambition is a bad thing and it’s not very cool but it shouldn’t be. Ambition is an essential ingredient for what we all do, and along with the talent and a bit of luck, for anyone who hopes of a long-lasting career, in a really tough industry actually, it’s essential, so to anyone who’s on their way there, please don’t listen to those people who have anything to say about you wanting bigger and better because you deserve it.”
The climate change activist added: “In a world now that needs urgent action, in a country that demands empathy, may music play its part in empowering others to begin.”
Elsewhere, Ed Sheeran and Johnny McDaid were handed the European Song of the Year Award for mega-hit ‘Bad Habits’, for the most performed song of the previous year by UK or European writers in the BMI catalogue.
It’s the third time Ed has won the accolade.
In a video message beamed at The Savoy, the flame-haired pop megastar said: “We had so much fun making the song and it has been so much fun playing the song out on the road and seeing the reactions of people all around Europe and I can’t wait to go out and do some more.”
Co-writer Johnny added: “Ed, I’m so grateful man for the fact that you still trust me to make music with you after over a decade of us writing songs together and I hope we have many more to come.”
The private bash also see acclaimed singer, songwriter, and producer Tems – who is known for her collaborations with Drake and WizKid – bestowed with the BMI Impact Award for “ground-breaking artistry, creative vision and impact on the future of music.”
Tems said: “I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for this award … I’ve come a long way and I’m so grateful.”
And a number of Million-Air awards were presented on the night.
Songwriters Tom Barnes and Sam Roman were honoured for four million performances of ‘Someone You Loved’ by Lewis Capaldi, and Sam Smith and Normani for ‘Dancing With A Stranger’. Stig Anderson, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus were honoured for six million performances of ABBA classic ‘Dancing Queen.
And Sir Elton John claimed three BMI London Awards for seven million performances of ‘Rocket Man’, six million performances of ‘Tiny Dancer’, and ‘Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)’, co-written with Andrew Meecham and Dean Meredith, was also recognised in the Pop Songs category.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John has extended the UK leg of his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour’.
The 75-year-old music legend will now play two additional dates at London’s The O2 arena on May 30, 2023, and a third concert at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on June 8, 2023.
The UK run kicks off on April 2 at The O2, and is currently scheduled to conclude with two nights at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro beginning June 17.
The tour resumes at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland on March 28, 2023, following stadium shows in North America, Australia and New Zealand.
Elton’s final-ever US show will be live-streamed on Disney+.
The ‘Crocodile Rock’ hitmaker will head to the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on November 20, and the performance will be available to watch live on the streaming service.
In May, it was announced that the ‘Tiny Dancer’ hitmaker’s extraordinary life and career will be documented in an upcoming Disney+ documentary.
‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances and the Years that Made His Legend’ will feature never-before-seen archival footage and new interviews.
It will be released to coincide with the 75-year-old icon wrapping the North American leg of his final tour at the world-famous venue Elton played two shows in 1975, where he was joined for a duet of ‘Philadelphia Freedom’ by tennis ace Billie Jean King.
R.J. Cutler, who helmed the Billie Eilish documentary ‘Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry’ for Disney, is directing, while the ‘Hold Me Closer’ hitmaker’s husband, David Furnish, is producing.
Cutler said: “What a thrill and an honor it is that David Furnish and I get to create this intimate and unique look at one of the world’s most celebrated artists.
“As it has for so many others, Elton John’s music has had deep meaning for me for decades, and this opportunity is nothing short of a career highlight and privilege.”

OHMYGOSSIP — SZA doesn’t have “any deadlines” for her long-awaited second album.
The ‘All The Stars’ hitmaker is yet to make an official announcement about the follow-up to her 2017 full length debut ‘Ctrl’, and she still has no idea what the collection will sound like.
She told Complex: “I don’t even know what this album is about and what it sounds like.
“Which is why I had to go to the mode of what feels good to my brain and to my energy and the songs that I think are hot, I just have to go with them.”
She added: “It’s a little bit of everything. It’s a little aggressive. Some parts are incredibly soft. Some of them are ballads. I don’t know. It’s all over the place. It’s just where my heart is.”
The AGE-year-old star – whose real name is Solána Imani Rowe – insisted she is in an “ideal situation” where she is in no rush to release the record.
Back in April, she claimed the album was coming “very much soon”, and the next month she said it was “ready to go” with a potential summer release.
That didn’t happen, but now she’s taking a different approach when discussing its launch.
She explained: “I don’t have any deadlines, because at the end of the day, when my shit comes out, it comes out.
“And if ever I lose my ability to choose, I have no problem vacating my current life and doing something different.
“I’m not glued to being an artist for the rest of my life or anything for that matter. I’m seeing where it takes me.”
She has continued to release singles over the past few years, including her Doja Cat collaboration ‘Kiss Me More’, plus a deluxe edition of ‘Ctrl’ featuring seven previously unheard tracks.

OHMYGOSSIP — Wolfgang Van Halen feels “a lot of closure” following his dad’s passing after performing Van Halen songs at the recent Taylor Hawkins tribute concerts.
The 31-year-old musician says a tribute concert for his late father Eddie Van Halen – who passed away in October 2020 aged 65 – looks unlikely to happen, but he enjoyed recently performing Van Halen songs ‘On Fire’, ‘Hot For Teacher’ and ‘Panama’ alongside The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins on vocals, Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl on bass, and Josh Freese on drums at two concerts in tribute to the late Foos drummer.
Wolfgang said: “I think I already did it with the Taylor Hawkins tributes.
“I feel a lot of closure because my part of the show was a tribute to my father.
“When it comes to Van Halen and entities surrounding the band it’s unfortunate, certainly compared to Foo Fighters, who have their s*** together with interpersonal relationships.”
Wolfgang performed alongside his father as the bassist for rockers Van Halen from 2006 to 2020, but the star insists the band is “very dysfunctional”, which makes a standalone tribute gig for his father unlikely to take place.
Speaking to Classic Rock magazine, he added: “I don’t know what it is with some bands but certain personalities just can’t get over themselves to work collectively for one purpose.
“That’s been the curse of Van Halen for its entire career.
“So my playing at the Taylor shows delivered that catharsis without the stresses of dealing with the Van Halen camp, and the players involved.
“Their camp is very dysfunctional – everyone! Hell, it was difficult to make plans even when the band was active.”

Der 79-Jährige sei stoisch geblieben, als bei ihm vor drei Jahren zum ersten Mal Bauchspeicheldrüsenkrebs diagnostiziert wurde und bestand darauf, dass er mit seinem Leben „einfach weitergemacht“ habe.

Nachdem sich der Komiker einer mehrstündigen Operation und mehreren Runden von Untersuchungen unterzogen hatte, bekam er schließlich mitgeteilt, dass er krebsfrei sei. In einem Interview mit der ‘The Guardian’-Zeitung verriet Idle: „Ich habe nicht geweint, bis ich wusste, dass ich leben würde. Ich habe einfach weitergemacht. Ich bin Brite! Da versucht man, angesichts der Gefahr keine Emotionen zu zeigen.“ Nach einer fünfstündigen Operation zur Entfernung des Krebses an seiner Bauchspeicheldrüse musste Eric alle sechs Monate zu einem Check-up zu seinem Arzt gehen, wobei er bei seinem letzten Termin einen richtigen Schock bekommen habe. „Ich habe sechs Monate lang mit Tests gelebt. Ich wusste nicht, wie lange ich noch haben würde. Ich war kürzlich bei meinem Arzt und da bekam ich den wahren Schock. Ich fragte ihn, wie lange ich noch hatte, und er sagte: 10 Jahre. Er sagte auch: ‘Wärest du zwei Wochen später hier gewesen, dann hättest du die Operation nicht machen können, du hättest direkt die Chemo gekriegt, was unangenehm ist und in diesem Stadium nicht viel bringt'”, erzählte der Star.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pale Waves’ Heather Baron-Gracie has a “sentimental attachment” to her coffin-shaped guitars and refuses to replace them.
The pop punk star was gifted a Vox Phantom by Dirty Hit label mate The 1975’s Matty Healy for her birthday, while she had a custom made for her by a man who travelled all the way to Italy.
And even though the instrument sounds “s***”, the musician won’t stop part with them.
Speaking to Total Guitar magazine, she said: “I feel like there are two classic guitars in my life that I have a sentimental attachment to them that I struggle to replace them.”
She continued: “A guy went to Italy and made that black Vox Phantom just for me so it’s hard for me to pick up a generic guitar that anyone could have because I feel like this is a special guitar of mine and it is one of my most prized possessions.
“I mean, it doesn’t sound great. It sounds a bit like s***.
“But when you put it through the pedals it sounds decent and looks amazing.”
The instrument is part of the band’s Gothic aesthetic.
The ‘Reasons To Live’ star added: “I am about aesthetic too.
“I actually got into the Vox Phantom because Matty [Healy] from The 1975 gave me a 12-string Vox Phantom for my birthday, and that theme of just having the Vox Phantom carried on because it is the shape of a coffin and I kind of like the gothicness of that.”

The 32-year-old singer was forced to cancel her 2020 tour amid the COVID-19 pandemic and she reportedly already has a number of dates booked for her upcoming concert series next year.
A source told the New York Post’s Page Six: “Taylor has some really ambitious plans in place. She’s excited to get back on the road after such a long but fruitful break.”
Announcing the cancellation of her ‘Lover’ tour due to COVID, Taylor previously tweeted: “I love coming on here to tell you good news or to share a new project with you. It’s not my favorite thing in the world to have to tell you news I’m sad about. I’m so sorry, but I cannot reschedule the shows we’ve postponed. Although refunds have been available since we first postponed the Lover Fest shows, many of you hung onto your tickets and I too hung on to the idea that we could reschedule.
“This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone’s plans and no one knows what the touring landscape is going to look like in the near future. I’m so disappointed that I won’t be able to see you in person as soon as I wanted to. I miss you terribly and can’t wait until we can all be together again.”
Taylor has not toured since 2018’s ‘Reputation’ but she released two albums during the COVID-19 pandemic, ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’.

OHMYGOSSIP — KT Tunstall wants people to “take [themselves] on a date” with her new album.
The ‘Suddenly I See’ hitmaker has just released ‘Nut’, the third record in a trilogy exploring her whole self, which began with ‘Kin’ and was followed by ‘Wax’, and she believes the listening experience should be done alone.
She said: “I want people to be able to put on a pair of headphones and just go inward and realise it’s like going into space.
“There’s this enormous world to be explored and enjoyed.
“Yes, there’s dark corners, but I think the trilogy really is a soundtrack to be excited, to be with yourself – to take yourself on a date.
“This trilogy turned out to be this soundtrack to personal growth, which was quite timely with everything the world has been and is going through.”
When she began writing the trilogy, KT learned a lot about herself.
She told HELLO! magazine: “When I started writing, it was a time of real exploration, therapy and working out why I wasn’t happy.
“’Kin’ was a big spiritual air punch.”
When touring ‘Wax’, which was released in 2018, the 47-year-old singer lost her hearing in one ear.
She reflected: “My younger brother is profoundly deaf so I grew up with deafness in the family.
“I was left thinking, ‘What the hell is going to happen when I make a record about the brain? I’m gonna have these ridiculous experiences.’
“And then I did – the pandemic happened and the whole world went mad.”

The 41-year-old music manager fell out with Taylor after he bought the rights to her masters and allegedly slapped her with restrictions on performing her hits live before he sold the rights on to the private equity company Shamrock Holdings.
Speaking on NPR show ‘The Limits With Jay Williams’, Scooter was asked: “When you bought the rights to Taylor Swift’s masters, it turned into a really big thing. If you could go back in time… Would you have handled it differently?”
Braun responded: “Yes, I would’ve. I learned an important lesson from that. I think a lot of things got lost in translation. I think that when you have a conflict with someone, it’s very hard to resolve it if you’re not willing to have a conversation.
“So the regret I have there is that I made the assumption that everyone, once the deal was done, was going to have a conversation with me, see my intent, see my character, and say ‘Great, let’s be in business together.’ I made that assumption with people that I didn’t know, and I learned… that I can never make that assumption again.
“In any conflict, you can say, ‘I didn’t do anything, It’s their fault!’. And you could be right, you could be justified. You could say, ‘This is unfair, I’m being treated unfairly,’ or you can say, ‘OK, I’m being treated unfairly. I don’t like how this is feeling. I can’t fix this, so how am I going to look at it and learn from it?’
“I didn’t appreciate how that all went down. I thought it was unfair. But I also understand, from the other side, they probably felt it was unfair, too. So I choose to look at it as a learning lesson, a growing lesson, and I wish everyone involved well. And I’m rooting for everyone to win because I don’t believe in rooting for people to lose.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Frank Skinner has confirmed a new version of ‘Three Lions’ has been written for the upcoming World Cup.
The 65-year-old star and his then-‘Fantasy Football’ co-host David Baddiel teamed up with the Lightning Seeds to record the sporting anthem for the Euro 96 tournament and released a reworked version for the World Cup in 1998.
And now, the comedian revealed during a chat with Lightning Seeds frontman Ian Broudie that they’ll be cheering England on in the upcoming football tournament – which will take place in Qatar later this year – with yet another new version of the song.
With Ian appearing as a guest on ‘The Frank Skinner Show’ on Absolute Radio, the host said: “So I’ve gotta ask you Ian, are you going to do a new version of ‘Three Lions’ for the World Cup? I think it’d be good, it’s an unusual sort of World Cup.”
Ian replied: “We should have a chat about that maybe.”
But Frank laughed: “We’ve left it a bit late, we’re filming the video on Thursday!”
The presenter then shared the first line of the new version, which honoured the England Women’s team winning Euro 2022.
It starts: “Loving that Lionesses win..”
Following the Lionesses’ victory this summer, David admitted it could be time for ‘Three Lions’ to be “put to bed” after their win ended the nation’s 56-year wait for an international tournament win.
He said: “The women have reset the clock.”
Asked if it was time to retire the song, he said: “I’m very happy to think the song would, in a way, be put to bed.
“It was beautiful to hear it sung out of Wembley [on Sunday] as we finally clinched a final, I really did think that would never happen. It’s so amazing to actually think, ‘Oh, we’ve won, this doesn’t happen, it’s actually happened.’”

OHMYGOSSIP — Slipknot don’t ever want their music to be “too easy to digest”.
Guitarist Mick Thomson hates it when people to try pigeonhole music and never wants the ‘Duality’ rockers – who continue to push boundaries with their eclectic sound – to be put in a box.
He told Total Guitar: “It shouldn’t be too easy to digest or even categorise.
“When we did ‘Vol.3: The Subliminal Verses’, I was listening to a burn of rough mixes in my car in Des Moines. The guys in the band Cephalic Carnage were playing in Des Moines that night, so I was playing the songs for one of the guys in the band and he was like, ‘This is just so different. What is it? It’s metal, but it’s not metal. How do you define it?’
“And I said, ‘Stop trying to f****** nail it to a wall as something and just enjoy it as music!’
“You don’t have to put yourself in a narrow type of pigeonhole, and that’s what I love about metal more than a lot of other music.
“You can draw from a lot more places.
“Punk always sounds like punk, but metal can go in a million different directions.”
Meanwhile, guitarists Jim Root and Mick recently insisted Slipknot continue to make the best music of their career because they dropped “egos and the “bull****” early on.
The metal legends released their seventh studio album ‘The End, So Far’ on September 30, and the ‘All Out Life’ rocker insisted the reason they’ve stuck together for more than two decades and always top their last release is that they are all equals and still “love” what they do.
Speaking to Australian Guitar Magazine, guitarist Jim said: “We’re getting to that point in our career where we’re all in this together.
“We all want to do the best we can for the role we play in this band, and when that becomes the priority, that’s when you put ego aside, put all that bull**** aside, and work together to make something great.”
Mick added: “We’d be stupid to keep doing this if we didn’t love it.
“There’s too much bull****.
“I think the biggest problem that breaks up bands is when everyone comes in with f****** egos.
“When egos and bull**** start to make a person nutty, that’s when problems happen and musicians start to hate each other.
“Fortunately, in the first few years after we blew up, nobody’s ego got too far out of check.
“And that can happen real f*****’ easy.”
He added: “There’s no I, there’s us.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Yungblud wants to “destroy the pedestal of a pop star”.
The 25-year-old singer – whose real name is Dominic Harrison – wants to “stand for truth and connection” and to help people find the freedom to express who they really are.
He said: “I want to destroy what it means to play by the rules. I want to stand for truth and connection and beautiful expression. I want people to be free to be themselves.
“I feel there is so much in the world, yet everyone is searching for love. If you had said that to me at 19 I would have said it was clichéd b*******, but it’s true.”
The ‘Fleabag’ singer admitted early criticism of his image and music hurt but now he’s happy to be “misunderstood”, so long as people have an opinion about him.
He told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “At first it got to me but I f****** love kicking the bear to be honest.
“It reminded me of being that 15 year old from Doncaster who was misunderstood. That was the whole reason I created Yungblud. A life and a career without risk and opinion means you have been forgotten or you are boring and I’m not here to do that.”
Yungblud believes his self-titled new album is his “purest” record yet.
He said: “It is proper neat whiskey, no mixer, no ice. It hits you straight at the back of your throat.
“That’s why I self-titled it because I feel it is my most authentic album so far.”
And the ‘Tissues’ singer is “so proud” of his Doncaster roots.
He said: “I love Donny. I am so proud to be from the north. I love my local chip shop. I really miss it. I travel the world but I miss my fish and chips. I’m so British.
“I love pints of lager, cigarettes in the rain, rubbish Channel 4 documentaries and sitcoms.
“I pack my suitcase with chocolate Hobnobs, Yorkshire tea and Wotsits. I live off Wotsit sandwiches when I’m wide-awake jetlagged.”
