Beyoncé rumoured for summer 2025 UK stadium run

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyoncé is to announce a series of UK stadium shows next summer – with ticket demand expected to rival Oasis’ comeback tour.
The 43-year-old superstar – who helped boost the nation’s economy by £8 billion last year with her ‘Renaissance Tour’ – is rumoured to be playing around five concerts at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in support of her record-breaking country album ‘Cowboy Carter’.
And fans are being warned that “demand for tickets will be fierce”.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Beyoncé is about to raise the roof. The demand for tickets will be just like Oasis’ and will rival fans’ rush to get their hands on a seat.
“2025 is going to be an incredible year for live music.”
It’s set to be a bumper year of live music, with the likes of Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Usher and Sabrina Carpenter also headed to the UK.
News of Beyoncé’s stadium shows comes after a backlash to the handling of ticket sales for ‘Oasis Live ’25’ after Ticketmaster used “dynamic pricing” to increase the cost of tickets on the sale day, while hundreds of thousands of fans were left ticketless due to system errors and lengthy queues.
The insider added: “Oasis and Beyoncé are top tier and demand for tickets will be fierce. Over seven million people tried to get Oasis tickets — and Beyoncé’s fans will be out in force too.”
They added: “The boost to the economy is going to be phenomenal. This is what the public needs right now — something to look forward to.”

‘This machine sues fascists’: White Stripes sue Donald Trump over use of Seven Nation Army

OHMYGOSSIP — The White Stripes have sued Donald Trump over his use of ‘Seven Nation Army’.
After threatening the 78-year-old politician with legal action after Margo Martin, Trump’s deputy director of communications, posted a clip to social media app X of the former president boarding his plane to the 2003 hit, the group’s former frontman Jack White and drummer Meg White, both 49, have officially taken legal action.
The use of the song came amid Trump’s on-going campaign to beat Kamala Harris to become president.
Jack shared a screenshot of the legal document on his Instagram page and is seeking “redress for a presidential candidate’s flagrant misappropriation of the musical composition and sound recording.”
It states that the White Stripes “vehemently oppose the policies adopted and actions taken by defendant Trump when he was president and those he has proposed for the second term he seeks.”
Jack captioned the post: “This machine sues fascists.”
He had reacted at the time: “Don’t even think about using my music you fascists.
“Law suit coming from my lawyers about this (to add to your 5 thousand others). (sic)”
A whole host of artists have complained about Trump using their songs for his campaigning without seeking permission, including Celine Dion and Foo Fighters.
The estate of the late Isaac Hayes Jr. just won a victory after a federal judge ruled that Trump must stop using the late songwriter’s hit ‘Hold On, I’m Coming’.
His son, Isaac Hayes III, said: “We are very grateful and happy for the decision by Judge Thrash … I couldn’t ask for a better decision.
“I want this to serve as an opportunity for other artists to come forward that don’t want their music used by Donald Trump or other political entities.”
Isaac Hayes Enterprises filed papers last month for 134 counts copyright infringement between 2022 and 2024.

‘It was a really heartwarming moment’: Justin Hawkins reacts to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce singing Darkness hit

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Hawkins has thanked Taylor Swift for making him “dad of the year” after the pop superstar and her boyfriend Travis Kelce went viral singing his band The Darkness’ hit ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love’.
The 49-year-old rocker says it was “heartwarming” seeing the ‘Anti-Hero’ hitmaker and her NFL player partner, both 34, animatedly enjoying the 2003 classic as it played out over the speakers when they were in a box at the US Open at the weekend.
Taylor could be heard singing: “I wanna kiss you every minute, every hour, every day.”
Justin also spilled all on the VIP attention he and his daughter received when they attended one of Taylor’s ‘Eras Tour’ stops in Zurich in July, and showed the handwritten letter the ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker had penned to him declaring her love for the noughties tune.
He shared on TikTok: “They put us in a lovely VIP area, I had Chris Rock on one side, Roger Federer on the other side, and I was just dad of the year.
“And to make matters even more spectacular, Taylor Swift actually sent me a lovely letter which was waiting for me in the VIP section, talking about how much she loves the song ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’.”
Reacting to the viral clip from the Open, he added: “It was a really heartwarming moment for me, and my little girl can’t wait to tell her friends at school.”
The letter read: “Justin, what a thrill to have you at the show! I’m a massive fan of yours and think ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’ is one of the greatest songs of all time. I hope you and your family have fun at the show! Thanks so much for coming!”
The paper cat mom Taylor used had a printed header with her name and subheading reading: “Songwriter. Feline enthusiast.”

Beyonce declares singing is her ‘refuge’

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce still loves singing and it doesn’t feel like work despite spending more than 30 years in the music industry.
The 43-year-old pop superstar has revealed she will never get sick of belting out tunes because it’s her “refuge” – revealing she always bursts into song whenever she feels low because it makes her feel better.
She told GQ magazine: “Singing is not work for me. I sing for me. I love music and I love to sing. It’s a passion that runs deep. There’s magic in the way it feels on my throat, a resonance that vibrates through me.
“When I am at my lowest, when I’ve been sad or in a heavy fog, sick or anxious with sleepless nights, I sing. And, often, I sing alone.”
The ‘Crazy In Love’ star went on to add: “My voice has always been my companion. It’s why I have always been able to be happy alone. Music understands my heart even when I can’t find words. But always, it’s in those private sanctuaries – the studio, the car – where I find my peace.
“Singing soothes me, it steadies my heartbeat, it’s my best hit of dopamine. There’s a certain magic in sitting at the piano, and letting my fingers play random chords as I just let any and everything come out. Singing has healed me time and time again. It’s been my refuge.”
Beyonce concluded: “Without singing, without music, without creating, I would be a walking dead. Creating music isn’t work for me; it’s what I was born to do.”
She went on to reveal the other ways she takes care of her self – explaining she has self-care Sundays which involve taking baths with essential oils as well as acupuncture, cupping and reflexology.

Oasis could return to Knebworth in 2026

OHMYGOSSIP — Oasis are reportedly eyeing a return to Knebworth in 2026.
Should Noel and Liam Gallagher complete their 2025 reunion run next summer without any scuffles after they put their differences aside to announce the ‘Oasis Live ’25 Tour’, they may consider reliving their era-defining shows at the Hertfordshire park in 1996, which saw the ‘Supersonic’ group play to 250,000 fans over two evenings.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “A return to Knebworth sounds like a pipe dream but it’s now something that is being considered by Noel and Liam.
“They are fully committed to their comeback next year and want to see how they gel first before making this idea a reality.
“Noel and Liam know that going back to Knebworth would be iconic and given the massive demand for tickets to the reunion tour, they know it would sell.”
Should they agree to Knebworth, they will have a chance to break rival Robbie Williams’ record after his trio of sell-out shows in 2003 trumped their attendance record for the venue.
The insider added: “And naturally, the prospect of breaking Robbie’s record makes the idea even more appealing.
“There is a love-hate relationship between the three of them, but Noel and Liam know it would be brilliant if they could take Robbie’s crown one last time.”
Henry Lytton Cobbolde, who owns the stately home on the estate, Knebworth House, is all for the Britpop legends’ returning.
He said: “That’s what the people want and they seem pretty good at doing what the people want. It would be a great way to have the best party of all parties.”
Robbie recently admitted Oasis’ reunion will be a “healing moment” for the UK – but couldn’t resist taking a swipe at Noel.
The ‘Angels’ singer, 50, famously fell out with the 57-year-old guitarist and his brother Liam, 51, in the late 1990s, but he is still pleased the pair have reconciled and will put on a great show.
However, Robbie believes it will be Liam that will make the concerts memorable.
He wrote on Instagram: “As ‘Namaste’ as it may sound Oasis getting back together is going to be a healing moment for our country.
“Liam Gallagher reading his phone on the toilet would be more charismatic and intriguing than 99.9% of the world’s population at their most enigmatic. All he has to do is stand there and sing for the audience to be guaranteed their money’s worth. Noel will be there too.”
Oasis split in 2009 due to the rift between Liam and Noel, with the brothers subsequently exchanging numerous public jibes over the years, so Robbie has predicted the pair getting together again will make for a fascinating “soap opera”.

Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos admits pop music is getting ‘a bit stale’ as band makes comeback

OHMYGOSSIP — Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos believes pop music is getting “a bit stale”.
The ‘Take Me Out’ group have just announced their first studio album since 2018’s ‘Always Ascending’, ‘The Human Fear’, and shared the lead single ‘Audacious’, out now, and Alex says music fans have never been hungrier for “great live bands” like English Teacher, Fontaines D.C. and themselves.
Speaking to NME, Alex said of the current state of popular music: “Of course things go in and out of fashion, don’t they? At the moment there seems to be a hunger for good band that can play; that have a rawness and complexity to them. It’s the human energy that you only get from a set of people standing on stage and exchanging that between them.
“A very good example of that are English Teacher – who obviously just won the Mercury Prize. I saw them play a couple of months ago and I absolutely f****** loved them. Fontaines D.C. are another great band. Sprints had that when I saw them as well: they’re so much more than the sum of their parts. Something magical is happening when those people play together. No matter how sophisticated your pop production on Ableton is, you’re never going to quite capture that special thing that happens when people play together.
“A lot of great stuff has happened in pop over the last 10 or 15 years or so, but it’s getting a bit stale. People are feeling that. I feel there’s a genuine desire for the rawness and the depth you can only get from a band.”
As for what fans can expect from the LP, which is due out on January 10, they’ve experimented with some new sounds that are “quite extremely far” from ‘Audacious’.
Alex teased: “I’m not going to give away too much now because there’s still a bit of time before the album comes out, but I will say this is not the only sound that you’re going to get on the album – quite extremely far from it in some cases.
“I don’t think there’s a single song that you’ll hear on the album and won’t think, ‘Oh, is that Franz Ferdinand?’ At the same time, they will be thinking, ‘Oh, did they really do that?’ That’s not to say I start rapping or anything like that.”

Charli XCX recruits Dua Lipa and Troye Sivan for Talk Talk remix

OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX has teamed up with Dua Lipa and Troye Sivan on a remix of ‘Talk Talk’.
The collaboration has been confirmed after Dua teased fans by leaving the ‘Apple’ hitmaker and her ‘Sweat Tour’ buddy and collaborator Troye a mysterious voice note posted to social media earlier this week.
Dua said in Spanish: “Charli, Troye, un gran besito para ti. Mwah,” which translates to leaving them “a little kiss”.
And now, the producers behind the remix – Styalz Fuego and Zhone – have confirmed the new version of the track from Charli’s LP ‘Brat’ features Dua and Troye.
Zhone took to Instagram to confirm the remix is “Produced by me and the boys” and tagged all three stars and Fuego.
The reason for Dua speaking in Spanish is the song features the lyric: “Talk to me in French / talk to me in Spanish / talk to me in your own made-up language.”
Troye also posted a clip of him singing the line: “K, here’s the plan I wanna fly you out to Amsterdam I got a good hotel to f*** you in…”
As of yet, there is no release date for the remix.
The ‘1999’ hitmaker has already released the ‘Guess’ remix with Billie Eilish, ‘Girl, so confusing’ with Lorde, and ‘Von Dutch’ with Addison Rae.
Meanwhile, Charli recently said herself and Troye are among a group of “niche” pop stars who are finally getting the success they deserve.
The 32-year-old star – who has been thriving since releasing her trend-setting album ‘Brat’ this summer – believes that pop music has entered a “really interesting” new era.
Charli told i-D magazine: “I think it’s a really interesting time in pop music where [being] niche is being rewarded in a way that we haven’t seen for a while.
“It feels like there’s this new wave of artists with different ambitions and cultural touchpoints who are really thriving in mainstream culture. And I think that’s myself, that’s Troye [Sivan], that’s Chappell [Roan].
“When I think about the three of us, that’s a lot of music that either is inherently a part of queer culture or is very much inspired by it and that’s super cool.”
‘Brat’ has been a huge hit with fans and critics, and Charli has confessed to being surprised by its success.
She said: “Before ‘Brat’ came out, I was saying to everyone around me, ‘Be prepared that this is probably going to be the album that doesn’t perform very well at all.’ Because I was like, ‘I’m just going to make songs about my friends. I’m going to name check them all. I don’t really care if anybody else likes it. I just need to do this because the previous record was so about me trying to appeal.'”

Chappell Roan teases ‘super weird’ genre-hopping second album

OHMYGOSSIP — Chappell Roan traverses many genres on her “super weird” second studio album.
The ‘Casual’ hitmaker has confirmed she is several songs into her follow-up to her viral 2023 debut ‘The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess’ – and fans can expect an eclectic mix.
She told Rolling Stone: “We have a country song. We have a dancy song. We have one that’s really Eighties, and we have one that’s acoustic, and we have one that’s really organic, live-band, Seventies vibe. It’s super weird.”
Fans who have attended her recent concerts will be familiar with her unreleased track ‘Subway’ that she has been performing, but she doesn’t think it will be a single.
She explained: “I just like performing it. I have two others that I really want to perform, too, [but] I don’t know what’s next. When I don’t know, it just hasn’t hit me yet because usually I know. I always have an answer. I don’t think it’s ‘Subway.’”
Her manager, Nick Bobetsky, recently confirmed the singer was “busy” penning new tunes.
He told Music Business Worldwide: “She’s been busy writing. I do think that we’re likely going to embrace a very similar plan that we did for this album, which is that when she finishes a song she loves, we put our heads together and quickly work to get that music out. That’s what we did with ‘Good Luck Babe.’”
Although Chappell is keen to deliver new singles for her fans as and when she’s “ready”, her team know they are eager for a full body of work.
Bobetsky explained: “Chappell Roan is absolutely an album artist. I think that’s what people want from her, big picture. I don’t think that takes away from the impact of singles.
“It’s partly a question of when the fans are asking for an album, and we have a lot of insight into that sort of thing.
“There are arguments to be had about how you build an album out these days. Sometimes putting a record out with no lead-up singles can be very impactful.
“I think right now Chappell wants to feel free to put music out when it’s ready and when she’s excited about letting people hear it. And I think that’s what the fans want as well.”
In a recent interview, the 26-year-old pop star insisted she never got into music to top the charts.
The singer – whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz – told ‘SNL’ star Bowen Yang for Interview magazine: “I’ve never given a f*** about the charts or being on the radio, but it’s so crazy how industry people are taking me more seriously than before.”
She continued: “My career doesn’t mean anything more now that I have a charting album and song. If anything, I’m just like, ‘F*** you guys for not seeing what actually matters.”

Tom Walker asked management to make sure he’d never used Oasis style dynamic pricing

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Walker asked his team to make sure he’d never used dynamic pricing.
The 32-year-old singer – whose new album ‘I AM’ will be released on September 20 – has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the upcoming Oasis reunion tour after fans were in online queues for hours only to be met with inflated ticket prices in line with the demand for the highly anticipated gigs.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: “There’s a limit, isn’t there? I do feel like some people are taking the p***, and it’s not cool.
“Oasis came out saying they weren’t aware of what Ticketmaster were doing and all the rest of it. Maybe they didn’t know.
“The point is if all artists said ‘No’ to that last-minute ticket inflation due to high demand, it wouldn’t be a thing. That’s my view.
“I even asked my management, ‘We’ve never done that, have we?’ Because I don’t know – I’m not in charge of that bit.”
The ‘Leave A Light On’ singer recalled buying tickets to see Madonna and admitted there is a debate to be had when a concert ends up being “the best thing you have ever seen”, but bemoaned the idea of waiting for so long only to find out the price is more than double what you expected.
He said: “I bought Madonna tickets for my partner’s auntie. If the show is the best thing you have ever seen and you feel like you’re getting your money’s worth, then fair play.
“But I do think people queuing for six hours thinking they’re getting a £150 ticket and then [being told], ‘That’ll be £400, please,’ you’d be fuming!”
Tom wants to give back to fans and recently played a run of free shows for UK fans as part of his ‘Tom’s Towns’ tour, and he was glad to perform in “small cities” across the country.
He explained: “One of the biggest things was [people saying], ‘Thank you so much – people don’t ever come here.’ ”

Halsey used Britney Spears song as ‘coping mechanism’

OHMYGOSSIP — Halsey featured Britney Spears’ song ‘Lucky’ in her new music because she had been using the track as a “coping mechanism” while she was ill.
The 29-year-old pop star – who uses she/they pronouns – spent a lot of time receiving treatment in hospital after being diagnosed with Lupus and a rare lymphoproliferative disorder and she’s revealed ‘Lucky’ became one of the songs she would hum to make herself feel better.
She told Paper magazine: “I have this weird coping mechanism where, if I’m not dealing with something internally, I’ll catch myself singing a song that relates to it. Often, the most random songs gets suck in my head …
“‘Lucky’ became one of those songs. I would lay there, attached to a pump, like ‘I’m so lucky, I’m a star.’ It was facetious … ”
However, it inspired her to use the track to create her own ‘Lucky’ – which is the lead single from her new album ‘ The Great Impersonator’.
Halsey added: “I was in the studio, and was singing it under my breath, and went ‘Wait, let’s do this. Has anyone done this? This has been done, right? Why hasn’t this been done? There’s no way I’m actually going to interpolate this Britney Spears song in this major way’.
“I asked my team, ‘Guys, can you just make sure no one has done this? Like, I’m not missing a huge chunk of culture?’ The verses just came to me, and the bridge was the last thing to come. It was obviously the most revealing part.”
It comes after Britney, 42, recently deleted a social media post slamming Halsey’s ‘Lucky’ music video – which pays homage to Britney’s 2000 single of the same name – but Halsey rubbished the idea that she kept the singer in the dark about her plans.
Speaking to BBC Radio 1, Halsey shared: “I shared everything with her every step of the way, down from like the first demo of the song. And I sent her like a shot for shot treatment of the music video, just because I wanted to make sure I was totally nailing it.”
Halsey also revealed that she’s recently been in touch with Britney, sadying: “It’s def a pinch-me thing. I didn’t even know she knew who I was kinda, and so every day I’m kinda just looking around like, ‘There’s a six-year-old girl in my heart that’s freaking out.'”
Her comments came after a post on Britney’s X account criticised the ‘Lucky’ music video. The post read: “For obvious reasons I’m very upset about the Halsey video. I feel harassed, violated and bullied. I didn’t know an artist like her and someone I looked up to and admired would illustrate me in such an ignorant way by tailoring me as a superficial pop star with no heart or concern at all.
“I have my own health problems which is why I took down my IG account yesterday. I will definitely be putting it back up now to show I CARE. I’m speaking with my lawyers today to see what can be done on this matter. It feels illegal and down right cruel. (sic)”
However, Britney subsequently denied writing the message. She wrote on X: “Fake news !!! That was not me on my phone !!! I love Halsey and that’s why I deleted it !!! (sic)”

Quavo and 2 Chainz lead tributes to late rapper Rich Homie Quan

OHMYGOSSIP — Quavo and 2 Chainz have led tributes to late Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan.
The hip-hop star – whose real name was Dequantes Devontay Lamar – died aged 33 on Thursday (05.09.24), Fulton County Medical Examiner confirmed.
His cause of death is unknown at the time of writing, with an autopsy due to take place on Friday (06.09.24).
The rapper had mainstream success with the 2013 tune ‘Type of Way’, whilst his popular 2015 follow-up ‘Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)’ reached number 26 in the US.
He and fellow Atlanta star Young Thug were part of the Cash Money Records’ hip-hop collective Rich Gang, who had a hit with ‘Lifestyle’ in 2014, which was certified Platinum in the US.
2 Chainz – who recorded the track ‘Extra’ with Quan for his 2014 LP ‘B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time’ – was among those to pay tribute to him and revealed they had been talking about doing a music video together before his untimely passing.
He wrote on Instagram: “Dam lil brother, we just spoke about shooting a video, special prayer for you and your family, and pray for any and everybody that’s dealing with something my condolences bru (sic)”
Former Migos star Quavo penned: “May God be with us, never saw this being apart of our journey. (sic)”
Rich Gang member Jacquees said: “Rest in Peace my brother Rich Homie Quan.
“I love you for Life. (sic)”
The music star – who was nominated for several BET Awards – had a troubled start to life, once spending 15 months in jail for burglaries, but after his stint behind bars, he focused on music.
He recalled in an interview with XXL: “I never saw myself going this far with music. Music was just a hobby at first. I never saw myself being on stage and rocking out shows. After I got out of jail, I started to take it more serious and that’s when my dream came true.”

Mike Shinonda explains founding drummer Rob Bourdon’s exit from Linkin Park

OHMYGOSSIP — Linkin Park’s founding drummer Rob Bourdon wanted to “distance himself” from Linkin Park years before his departure.
The ‘Numb’ rockers have been on hiatus since the tragic death of frontman Chester Bennington – who took his own life aged 41 in 2017 – but are set to release a new album, ‘From Zero’, which will feature former Dead Sara singer Emily Armstrong on vocals and Colin Brittain on drums in the place of Rob.
And co-lead vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist Mike Shinoda has addressed his bandmate’s departure and insisted they “understood” his need to walk away, and they wish him well.
He told Billboard: “Rob had said to us at a point, I guess it was a few years ago now, that he wanted to put some distance between himself and the band. And we understood that — it was already apparent. He was starting to just show up less, be in less contact, and I know the fans noticed it too. The ‘Hybrid Theory’ re-release and ‘Papercuts’ release, he didn’t show up for anything. So for me, as a friend, that was sad, but at the same time, I want him to do whatever makes him happy, and obviously everybody wishes him the best.”
Mike added how he and Colin hit it off in the studio as they have the same approach to making music.
He said: “He’s playing drums in the live show, and drums are his first instrument, but he plays guitar and bass and keyboard, and he produces and mixes. We have a similar way of looking at music, of starting from scratch, and I really enjoyed working with him and bouncing ideas back-and-forth.
“And then when Linkin Park started making stuff, for whatever we were going to do, it was just like, ‘Oh, Colin. We’re making stuff. You should come over.'”
‘From Zero’ will be released on 15 November and the group’s return will be supported by a short world tour, which will kick off next week.
The band will play the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on 11 September before hitting the stage at New York’s Barclays Center five days later.

Camila Cabello drops four new songs on deluxe edition of C,XOXO

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello has dropped four new songs on the deluxe edition of her latest LP ‘C,XOXO’.
The ‘Havana’ hitmaker has treated fans to ‘baby pink’ (featuring Eem Triplin), ‘Come Show Me’, ‘Can Friends Kiss?’, and ‘GODSPEED’, on ‘C,XOXO (Magic City Edition)’.
The music video for the latter track, which centres on “toxicity, emotional damage, and situations that don’t serve you”, is also out now.
Camila – who is set to perform at the 2024 MTV VMAs next week – previously spilled that she felt like she was having a “nervous breakdown once a month” making the follow-up to 2022’s ‘Familia’.
Attending a special album party hosted by BACARDÍ Rum, she said: “With any project, there’s just waves where everything is amazing and three days where it’s like, ‘Wow, I just wrote this song in 30 minutes, and I wrote this song in three hours and it’s so easy.’
“Then the next week, you’re like, ‘I don’t know how to do this. I don’t know how to put words together. I think that was it’.
“There were waves of crippling s*** where I thought that might be my last good day.
“I think I had a nervous breakdown probably, like, once a month.”
The former Fifth Harmony singer delved deep into her feelings for the first time.
She told HELLO! magazine: “I feel as though this album has a different perspective.
“Before, a lot of my songs were about going through something like a break-up but saying, ‘No problem. Life goes on. I’m happy.’
“This is more focused on feelings and how you can go through a break-up and still miss that person even though you shouldn’t.
“It is more complex and indefinite. This is a whole new territory for me.”
