OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Lovato is back in the studio just three months after releasing her album ‘HOLY FVCK’.
The 30-year-old star has posted a TikTok about heading back into the studio.
It’s captioned: “When [you’re] getting back in the studio.”
Demi then lip syncs to a sound going: “Here we go! Here the f*** we go! Here the f*** we go!”
Around the release of her album, Demi revealed her “dream collaboration” is still Hayley Williams.
The ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ singer was inspired to switch up her sound by noughties pop rock stars Kelly Clarkson, Ashlee Simpson and Hayley’s band Paramore.
And while discussing the heavier direction of her LP, Demi put it out into the world that she would still very much like to duet with the ‘Misery Business’ group’s lead singer.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, she said: “One influence that really changed where I wanted to go directionally into music was Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Since U Been Gone’. It was a monster record. And I saw the transformation of her as an artist go from R’n’B soul pop to pop rock. And I was like, wait, that’s what I want to do. And there’s also Ashlee Simpson ‘LaLa’, and I was like, I want to do that. So I got inspired and then I found bands like Paramore and Flyleaf. I’ve known Hayley since … I think I met her when I was 15. She seems like the type of person that would be pulling for me during those times. But yeah. I didn’t get to know her that well, but she’s one of my biggest influences vocally. Oh my God. I mean she’s still my dream collaboration. It’s never happened, but she’s still my dream collaboration. To be honest, I gave up on that dream collaboration. So I didn’t say it for years, but that’s always been my dream collaboration.”
Demi admitted the album gave her the “freedom to express” herself in ways she “didn’t know were possible”.
In a typed-out note to fans on Twitter, Demi said: “HOLY FVCK gave me the freedom to express myself in ways I didn’t know were possible and find joy I’d been missing when making music.
It’s cathartic and grounded, yet exhilarating and a hell of a good time.
“I don’t know where I’ll be in life in a year, or in five or 10 years – but what I do know is that this record is exactly where I am now, and I am damn proud of it. I hope everyone who listens is too. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Aerosmith have cancelled a second ‘Deuces Are Wild Las Vegas’ residency show due to frontman Steven Tyler’s illness.
The band were forced to pull out of their December 2 concert at Dolby Live in Park MGM at the last minute as the singer is unwell with a mystery illness, and now, they’ve cancelled tonight’s (05.12.22) gig as the 74-year-old rocker requires “more time to rest”.
The ‘Dream On’ band said in a social media statement: “Unfortunately tomorrow’s show, Monday, December 5th, in Las Vegas has to be cancelled.
“We sincerely apologize.”
Steven wrote: “On the advice of my Doctor, I’m taking more time to rest… There is no where we’d rather be than on stage surrounded by the greatest fans in the world.”
The ‘Livin’ on the Edge’ hitmakers thought Steven would have made a “full recovery” by Monday.
In their statement regarding the cancellation of the December 2 show, Aerosmith wrote: “It is with great disappointment that we are forced to cancel tonight’s show in Las Vegas due to Steven feeling unwell and unable to perform.
“He is expected to make a full recovery for Monday nights Las Vegas show.
We sincerely apologize for the last minute notice.”
The next date is on December 8.
Aerosmith announced earlier this year that they were cancelling the first set of dates of the residency in June and July because Steven had checked himself into rehab.
A joint statement from the group said at the time: “As many of you know, our beloved brother Steven has worked on his sobriety for many years.
“After foot surgery to prepare for the stage and the necessity of pain management during the process, he has recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program to concentrate on his health and recovery.”
Steven has been open about his issues with addiction for decades, while his Aerosmith bandmates Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford helped the rocker pursue sobriety with an intervention in 1988.
In July, Steven was released from his latest rehab stint and was reportedly doing “amazingly well.”
A representative said at the time: “Steven’s doing extremely well and looking forward to being back on stage.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Weeknd has seemingly confirmed he’s written music for the upcoming ‘Avatar’ sequel.
The musician shared a 12-second teaser clip on his Twitter page of a melody alongside what appeared to be the logo for James Cameron’s new blockbuster movie ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ which hits cinemas on December 16 – 13 years after the original film.
He followed the post up by adding a date “12.16.22” – the same day of the movie’s release – and another tweet which read “#AvatarTheWayOfWater x @theweeknd.”
If that wasn’t a big enough hint about his involvement with the movie, ‘Avatar’ producer on Landau tweeted a selfie showing him with The Weeknd and added in the caption: “As the Na’vi say, ‘Zola’u nìprrte’ soaiane Avatar’… Welcome to the ‘Avatar’ family.”
The Weeknd has previously had huge success with his film work – winning a Grammy award and an Oscar nomination for his 2014 tune ‘Earned It’ which featured on the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ soundtrack.
‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ will reuse the original film’s score by James Horner as well as featuring new work by Simon Franglen who took over on the project after the composer’s death in a plane crash in 2015.
The film stars returning actors Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington and Sigourney Weaver as well as new castmember Kate Winslet.
Kate recently told Empire magazine she was thrilled to reunite with her ‘Titanic’ director James Cameron on the project, saying: “I absolutely loved the first ‘Avatar’ movie. The deeper themes it conveys about our declining planet, were extremely poignant, and that mattered to me.
“So, I had no reservations at all. Plus, I was jumping into a well-oiled machine, so I was excited to think that everything they had learned as filmmakers from the first movie, would have only been ironed out and amplified in its second go around. And that’s fun!”

OHMYGOSSIP — President Joe Biden thanked U2 for “the way you uplift people”.
The Irish rock legends – Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. – were honoured at the White House for their contributions to the arts at the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington D.C. on Sunday night (04.12.22), and the Commander In Chief hailed the ‘Vertigo’ band for making music that unites people.
Biden began: “From this Irish American president in a White House designed by Irish hands, thank you for all you have done and the way you lift people up.
“To see each other, to see ourselves in one another, to unite in common cause – tonight we celebrate a truly exceptional . . . group of artists.”
The world leader went on to quote a poignant lyric from U2’s 1992 track ‘One’, which was penned about tensions within the group and the German reunification.
Biden said of the make-or-break single: “At a moment we would do well to remember when there is too much hate, too much division and too much anger in America and, quite frankly, around the world, as [U2′s] song goes: ‘We are one, we are not the same, we get to carry each other.'”
The tribute to U2 also saw comedian Sacha Baron Cohen poke fun at Bono and co – referring to the band as “Me Too” – and giving a nod to their 2014 album, ‘Songs of Innocence’, which was automatically installed in iTunes accounts without users’ consent.
Cohen read a message in Kazakh and then said: “It translates to mean ‘Please remove your wretched album from my new iPhone 6.”
George Clooney, singers Amy Grant, Gladys Knight, and composer Tania Leó were also among the honourees.

OHMYGOSSIP — Mariah Carey is bringing her festive magic to Roblox.
The ‘Hero’ hitmaker has announced a virtual concert on the Livetopia platform called ‘Mariah Carey’s Winter Wonderland’.
Taking place between December 21 and 24, from 7pm ET (12am GMT) each night, Mariah will belt out hits old and new and wrap up the set with a special performance of ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’.
If that’s not enough, the pop diva’s twins Monroe and Moroccan – whom she has with ex-husband Nick Cannon – have come up with a treasure hunt.
The 52-year-old music icon said in a statement: “Christmas is my absolute favourite time of the year!
“This year, I wanted to do something different to ring in the holiday season. My kids and I live for Roblox, and we couldn’t be more excited to be creating this festive metaverse experience for everyone!”
The ‘We Belong Together’ singer has a two-hour primetime special heading to CBS and Paramount+ on December 20.
‘Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas To All’ will feature her performance at New York’s Madison Square Gardens the week before.
Meanwhile, Mariah written a children’s book called ‘The Christmas Princess’.
The story centres on a a young girl named Little Mariah, and the chart-topping star has likened the character to “Pippi Longstocking or Harriet the Spy”.
She told W magazine: “Little Mariah is a mixed-race girl with no money and no one to come do her hair. She’s like Pippi Longstocking or Harriet the Spy, but she’s biracial.
“A lot of people who are my actual fans feel that they are ‘other’, whether they’re white, black, brown, whatever it is — you know, any race, creed, or colour. If you feel ‘other’, it’s just a different thing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophie Ellis-Bextor is launching a Christmas Kitchen Disco Tour in 2023.
The 43-year-old pop star – who turned her kitchen into a disco amid the COVID-19 lockdown – has confirmed that she will travel around the UK as part of the tour, which begins in Bexhill on November 23.
Sophie performed her Kitchen Disco Tour in sold-out venues across the country earlier this year, and her show at the London Palladium has even been released as a 24-track live album, called ‘Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Kitchen Disco: Live at the London Palladium’.
The show featured tracks such as ‘All Night Long’, ‘Dancing Queen’ and ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’, Sophie’s 2001 hit single.
The pop star’s upcoming tour will also feature some of her best-known pop hits, as well as some festive classics.
Sophie – who is set to release her seventh studio album in 2023 – will visit various cities across the UK as part of the tour, including Liverpool, Cardiff and London, before finishing at Symphony Hall in Birmingham on December 14.
Sophie performed weekly Kitchen Disco concerts during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.
And the pop star – who used to perform live on Instagram every Friday night – admitted at the time that she was keen to perform for a live audience.
Sophie added: “I’m lucky as a creative person that I get to interpret the things that happen in my life and make them part of what I do next.
“And I can’t imagine not incorporating the kitchen discos, because it’s been so defining, not just for me, but for my whole household.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Stormzy has beaten Sir Cliff Richard to land a third No 1 album.
After a nail-biting race to the top spot which saw Cliff close the gap midweek, he delivered a last-minute surge to reach the summit of the Official Albums Chart with his third studio record, ‘This Is What I Mean’, it was revealed on Friday evening. (02.12.22)
The singer, songwriter and rapper, 29, born Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr, previously topped the chart with 2017 debut ‘Gang Signs and Prayer’ and 2019 LP ‘Heavy is the Head’.
Martin Talbot, chief executive of the Official Charts Company said: “Everyone loves a tight No 1 race, and this week’s battle between Sir Cliff Richard and Stormzy has been an absolute classic, pitching two of our musical icons head-to-head.
“We at Official Charts are of course delighted to congratulate Stormzy on his big win, but it is also only right to doff our chart cap to Sir Cliff too.

Andrea, Matteo and Virginia Bocelli’s festive collection ‘A Family Christmas’ leads a number of yuletide releases making their ascent up the Official Albums Chart this week, jumping seven to a new peak in its sixth week on the charts.
The Cure’s landmark ninth album ‘Wish’ returns to the Top 10 thanks to a 30th anniversary reissue featuring 24 previously unreleased tracks.
And Michael Bublé’s holiday staple ‘Christmas’ lifted back into the Top 20 for the first time this year at 13, while Aled Jones and Russell Watson’s ‘Christmas with Aled and Russell’ lifted back into the Top 40 at 29.
Following the death of Christine McVie at the age of 79, ‘Fleetwood Mac’ saw two records in the Top 40 this week.
Hits collection ‘50 Years – Don’t Stop’ is a non-mover at 23, while the group’s seminal 1977 No 1 LP ‘Rumours’ lifts 18 spots, seeing a 2045% increase in digital downloads, and 56% increase in physical copies week-on-week.

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Murs would love to do a dance track with Calvin Harris.
The ‘Heart Skips a Beat’ hitmaker has revealed he’s had the collaboration on his wish-list for some time and would love to make it a reality.
He told Heat magazine: “You know what? I’ve always wanted to do a track with Calvin Harris.
“I’d love to do a dance track.”
Olly has just released his first album in four years, ‘Marry Me’, which is inspired by the singer’s fiancée Amelia Tank.
The 38-year-old singer/songwriter revealed that his partner inspired most of the tracks and it was “fun” to pen songs about their relationship.
He said in a recent interview: “I didn’t know how much fun it would be to write about me and Amelia a little bit — it’s not all about us, but there is an element of Amelia in each song which I can relate to and she can relate to.
“It is great to have a moment in my life where I feel so content at home and so happy.
“Things are in the best possible place they could be — at least until you start talking wedding plans which is stressful as hell. But now I am just concentrating on work again and I have nothing to worry about at home. It is so settled and lovely.”
Olly – who recently signed with EMI Records – is eyeing a return to the charts after teaming up with BTS songwriters David Stewart and Jessica Agombar.
He said: “I’ve never done this before. It felt weird writing with the same people constantly. But I loved the routine and the consistency. We just kept writing good songs. They had a great vibe and an enthusiasm, and a hunger.”
His last album, 2018’s ‘You Know I Know’, made it to number two in the Official UK Albums Chart.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John will be joined by a number of special guests for his Glastonbury set.
The 75-year-old star will play the Pyramid stage of Glastonbury on the final night of his last UK tour next year and Elton is already planning to ask his celebrity pals to join him.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Elton knows just about everyone in music so he’s not short of names he could ask to appear with him on stage.
“Glastonbury has long been linked with some epic special guests, and Elton’s set will be one of the biggest ever.
“Sir Paul McCartney was joined by Bruce Springsteen and Dave Grohl this year and Elton wants to top that, which will be no mean feat.
“It’s been years in the making but now he has finally signed on the ¬dotted line. Everyone is excited to put the plans into action.”
Meanwhile, Elton is also reportedly planning another collaborations album after the success of his 2021 record ‘The Lockdown Sessions’.
The insider explained: “‘The Lockdown Sessions’ and hit single ‘Cold Heart’ have reignited Elton’s career beyond his expectations.
“He may be calling time on his life on the road but has zero plans to stop recording — especially when it comes to working with the next generation.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Wolfgang Van Halen says working on his new album gave him the strength to carry on following his dad’s death.
Guitar god Eddie Van Halen sadly passed away following a lengthy battle with cancer in October 2020 at the age of 65, and his son has admitted making music is what keeps him going.
Speaking to Guitar World magazine, Wolfgang, 31, said: “There’s many times when I don’t have the strength to do anything, and more than not, that seems to be the case.
“But you’ve got to find the things that give you life.
“For me, that’s music and being able to wake up every day and think about how I am going to create this second album.”
He added: “It’s stressful, but it’s also very exciting, and it’s what I pull all my thinking into.”
His self-titled first album released under Mammoth WVH, released earlier this year, was critically acclaimed and saw Wolfgang receive his first-ever GRAMMY nomination for Best Rock Song with the track ‘Distance’ about his late pop.
The prize ended up going to Foo Fighters and their song ‘Waiting on a War’, but Wolfgang was happy to have even received the nod alongside some of his favourite artists.
In a typed-out message on Twitter, the rocker began: “We came, we saw, but we did NOT conquer and that’s ok!
I got to have a wonderful night with the two most important women in my world.
“Such an honor to be nominated for the first song I ever released on my own, in a category with artists I’ve looked up to my entire life. I don’t know if that’ll ever set in fully. (sic)”
Wolfgang noted that his father also didn’t win the first time he was nominated in 1985.
He continued: “Pop didn’t win the first time he was nominated too, so it looks like I’m following in his footsteps quite nicely.”
Wolfgang concluded: “Who knows what the future holds. All I know is I’m feeling pretty damn grateful. What a wild experience this was.
“Thank you to the @recordingacademy for the recognition, and thank YOU for the support. Y’all mean the world to me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kimberly Wyatt found out the Pussycat Dolls’ reunion tour had been cancelled through a fan’s Twitter post.
The ‘Don’t Cha’ hitmakers – which also included Nicole Scherzinger, Carmit Bachar, Ashley Roberts, Melody Thornton and Jessica Sutta – had been ready to go on the road in 2020 but the gigs were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and then in January this year, Nicole announced the plans had been dropped entirely.
And Kimberly has admitted she had no idea until the news leaked online.
“The way it was communicated wasn’t nice or kind to most of us.
“I found out through a fan’s tweet. I was devastated and cried my eyes out.
“We were planning a world tour and were even booked for Glastonbury.”
While lead singer Nicole is locked in a legal dispute with founder Robin Antin over royalties, Kimberly still hasn’t given up hope the issues can go ahead and the reunion can still go ahead one day.
She told the Sunday Mirror newspaper’s The Goss column: “I feel really powerless right now but I am still hopeful that it will happen.”
Kimberly’s comments echo a previous statement from Carmit and Jessica, who admitted they hadn’t been “officially” told of the cancellation decision.
They wrote on their Instagram Story shortly after Nicole had broken the news on the social media platform: “We want to say how incredibly disappointed we are to learn of an announcement made on Instagram that the Pussycat Dolls reunion tour is canceled.
“As of now, there has been no official notification of that. (sic)”
The bandmates admitted they had “big dreams” to ensure “all of our voices could be heard”, and while the tour is off, they insisted “it’s not the end of the Dolls story”.
They added: “Either way, it seems as though it’s the end of a chapter to an incredible, life-altering experience full of some awesome memories that we will forever be grateful for.
“To the fans, we love you. Trust us, this is not the outcome we had hoped for. We wanted it as much as you because we appreciate you all so much and it hurts our hearts you had to wait so long for an answer, but unfortunately it’s out of our control.
“We all had big dreams for this brand to expand especially creating the music so all of our voices could be heard, which would be true female empowerment.
“Thank you to all the fans that supported us unconditionally and love us to no end. We will always honor the essence of what the true definition of being a Pussycat Doll is. This tour may have come to an end but it is not the end of the Dolls story. We created a sisterhood that will live on.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Graham Coxon didn’t sleep for months at the height of his fame in Blur because he was terrified by “unhinged” fans who made his life a “nightmare”.
The guitarist shot to fame in the 1990s as part of the Britpop band – fronted by Damon Albarn – and he’s opened up about struggling with life in the spotlight, admitting he became the focus of some scary and “obsessive” followers who left him in a state of constant anxiety.
In an interview with The Idler magazine, he said: “You get unhinged people. People who are obsessive. And until it happens to you, you don’t quite realise just what a nightmare that is. Months and months of not sleeping. Worrying every day, every hour of the day. It was awful.”
Graham explained he was also plagued by men who targeted his girlfriends because they wanted to be the guy to steal a pop star’s lady.
He added: “You’d be on tour and your girlfriend would have all these suitors, trying to get with your girlfriend. Because fair enough, if they like your girlfriend, but if they’re trying to get with her because she’s with you … well, I found that a world of super meanness that I didn’t realise was there.”
The ‘Coffee and TV’ hitmaker has previously been outspoken about his battles with mental health and alcoholism, but he’s now been sober for eight years and has undergone therapy to help conquer his demons.
In the interview, Graham reveals he’s turned a spare room at his home in North London into a sanctuary where he can be alone and work undisturbed.
He says it gives him the time and space to feel free, explaining: “It’s a very small, spare bedroom … My own space became very important to me over the last few years. It was a place of peace and quiet. I knew who I was in there. I really needed it. Because out there it’s out of control. It’s not that I’m a control freak. It’s just that it’s stabilising to be in a place where nothing really changes and you can be creative and you can feel reasonably safe.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake has postponed his live shows in New York for a second time.
The ‘Hotline Bling’ hitmaker had originally planned to perform at the Apollo Theater on 11 November but it was pushed back days before it was due to take place so the rapper could mourn his friend Takeoff – who was shot dead on 1 November – with the announcement also bringing news that the concert on 6 December would be followed by an additional performance the following evening.
However, in a joint statement from Drake, SiriusXM and Sound 42, it has now been confirmed the gigs won’t take place until next year because of “production delays that are just out of our control”.
They explained producers have been “working around the clock” to deliver “an experience our fans deserve”, but it was ultimately decided it isn’t currently possible to deliver what was planned.
The statement added: “After many difficult meetings and conversations trying to navigate these challenges, we are forced to make the unfortunate decision to push these shows out a little further to allow the necessary time for the work to be completed…
“These upcoming shows for SiriusXM are so incredibly special for us. If you are going to play the world famous Apollo Theater, it has to be a world-class production.”
The sold-out gigs will now take place on the 21 and 22 January.
The statement added: “The Apollo has been so incredibly gracious throughout this process and we look forward to bringing a legendary show to this legendary stage.”
Drake teased in March that he was planning to stage some “highly interactive” concerts.
He said: “I’m excited to let all my people know that we’re working on something really special for you guys..
“They’re gonna be something different, something that I’ve never done before. Gonna be a highly interactive experience.
“My brothers will be there, it’s gonna be great to see y’all, hopefully get a chance to speak with you, [and] hopefully learn a little more about each other.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Weller has declared the national mourning after Queen Elizabeth’s death as “f****** bizarre”.
The 64-year-old musician – who was the former frontman of The Jam – was baffled by the outpouring of public grief over the passing of the British monarch – who died in September at the age of 96 – and said he can’t understand the sadness because the Queen lived such a long and full life.
He told Record Collector magazine: “It’s f****** bizarre [the national mourning]. Minty-Six is old enough. Jesus Christ. People are like, ‘Isn’t it sad?’ What, do you want her to come into work at a hundred and f****** fifty or something? It’s mental.”
Weller also insisted he’s baffled by the adoration shown to the King Charles since he became sovereign on his mother’s death.
He added of the new monarch: “People have said they’ve seen people kissing Prince Charles’ hand and all that. What’s that all about? It’s 2022. It’s the 21st century and people are doing all the ‘Cinderella’ b*******.”
The ‘Eton Rifles’ rocker went on to condemn the amount of money spent on the Queen’s lavish state funeral – a sum which is estimated to have been around £8 million.
He went on: “It’s a f****** joke, man. It’s obscene, it really is.”
The musician has long been known for his anti-establishment anthems and has been an outspoken critic of the monarchy – even previously turning down a CBE from the Queen.
Speaking of his decision to snub the honour, Weller told the BBC: “I’m not really into it. It’s not my sort of thing. I don’t like the Royal Family, I don’t like the establishment, I don’t like the civil service.”

The 27-year-old pop star released her self-titled debut record in 2017 as well as the BRIT Award-winning ‘Future Nostalgia’ in 2020 and explained that when she was speaking to Sir Elton John for an interview in March she thought she was “halfway done” with her third album but things have since taken a new direction.
She said: ” Well when I was speaking to Elton I really felt like I was halfway done. But it’s taken a complete turn as I’ve carried on working, and I really feel now that it’s starting to sound cohesive. So I’m going to keep writing in the early months of the new year and see where that takes me. The album is different — it’s still pop but it’s different sonically, and there’s more of a lyrical theme.”
However, the ‘Cold Heart’ hitmaker remained coy about giving any details away about the upcoming album and explained that even revealing the title would spoil the surprise.
She told Variety: “If I told you the title, everything would make sense — but I think we’ll just have to wait!”
Meanwhile, the ‘Break My Heart’ songstress the World Cup offers a “really unique opportunity to hold Qatar to account” and was unhappy when rumours spread she was set to perform at the opening ceremony for the soccer tournament because the event “really goes against [her] beliefs” due to the Gulf state’s human rights policies.
She said: “The World Cup is a really unique opportunity to hold Qatar to account.
“They made pledges on human rights when they signed the deal for the World Cup thathave not been satisfactorily met on migrant workers’ rights, women’s rights, LGBTQ rights and freedom of expression — what kind of message does it send if these pledges mean nothing?
“I really have nothing against Qatar, and I hope one day I will get the chance to go there.
“But I didn’t like being amongst speculation that I was going to perform for something that really goes against my beliefs.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Melanie C has a strong “friendship” with Billie Eilish with the pair bonding over the “pressures” of fame.
The Spice Girls singer went from being a fan of the 20-year-old pop star to being pals with her, and Billie has been grateful to receive advice from the 48-year-old music legend.
The ‘Wannabe’ hitmaker said: “I just felt like I had such a connection to Billie. That’s been something that we’ve really shared, bonded and have a friendship over.
“I’ve spoken to Billie about the pressures. I often think when I speak to younger artists, they’re gonna be like, ‘Oh, yeah, shut up, grandma!’ But Billie’s taking it on board and has talked about it too.
“I think what’s been a wonderful thing I’ve seen changing in the industry is – and I still think there’s a way to go – that some labels and management teams are taking the mental health and physical health of their artists more seriously. There is more support now that didn’t exist in the ’90s. We’re seeing artists pulling shows because of their mental or physical health. You know, that wasn’t an option. I had to get on with it.”
One motivation for Melanie to write her book ‘Who I Am: My Story’ was to share her experiences of living with an eating disorder and struggling with depression to let people know that it is OK to openly discuss your mental health issues.
Mel – also known as Sporty Spice – said: “Part of the reason that I wrote my book is because I have experienced these things, and been through a lot of pain. And if people can maybe avoid some of the pitfalls by my experiences, then that feels good. You know, it feels like it wasn’t in vain.”
