OHMYGOSSIP — Panic! At The Disco are set to disband after their current tour.
The emo legends – who are best known for early classics including ‘I Write Sins Not Tragedies’ and ‘Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off’ and later pop hit ‘High Hopes’ – will call it quits after almost two decades together.
Frontman Brendon Urie, 35, is set to become a father shortly with his wife Sarah Urie expecting their first child, and he explained that it’s time to close this chapter of his life to focus on his family.
He announced in a social media statement: “Well, it’s been a hell of a journey…
“Growing up in Vegas I could’ve never imagined where this life would take me. So many places all over the world, and all the friends we’ve made along the way.
“But sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin. We’ve been trying to keep it to ourselves, though some of you may have heard.. Sarah and I are expecting a baby very soon! The prospect of being a father and getting to watch my wife become a mother is both humbling and exciting. I look forward to this next adventure.
“That said, I am going to bring this chapter of my life to an end and put my focus and energy on my family, and with that Panic! At The Disco will be no more.”
Paying tribute to their fans, he concluded: “Thank you all for your immense support over the years. I’ve sat here trying to come up with the perfect way to say this and I truly can’t put into words how much it has meant to us. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or are just finding us, it has been a pleasure to not only share the stage with so many talented people but also share our time with you. I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Europe and the UK for one last run together.
“I love you. I appreciate you. Thank you for existing.

Panic! At The Disco formed in Las Vegas in 2004, then comprising Brendon, Brent Wilson, Ryan Ross, and Spencer Smith.
The line-up has seen many changes over the years, with Brendon ending up as the sole member of the group.
They released four albums as a band, while Brendon continued to use the band’s moniker for 2016’s ‘Death of a Bachelor’, 2018’s ‘Pray for the Wicked’ and 2022’s ‘Viva Las Vengeance’.
Brendon joined forces with pop megastar Taylor Swift on the duet ‘ME!’ in 2019, which reached Number 3 in the UK and 2 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The final date of the ‘Viva Las Vengeance Tour’ in Manchester on March 10, 2023, will mark the end of PATD.

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Bieber has sold his entire music catalogue for more than $200 million.
The ‘Never Say Never’ hitmaker has finalised a deal with Hipgnosis Songs Capital which includes all of his publishing rights, as well as artist royalties from his master recordings and neighbouring rights.
The deal is the largest rights sale for any artist of the 28-year-old singer’s generation and is also the biggest acquisition Hipgnosis – who paid $100 million for some of the rights to Justin Timberlake’s catalogue – have made to date, covering all 290 titles in Justin’s recording career, including his most recent album, 2021’s ‘Justice’.
Universal Music Group will continue to own the recorded music copyrights to Justin’s works in perpetuity.
Justin’s manager, Scooter Braun, said in a statement: “I want to thank Merck and his entire Hipgnosis team and all of our partners involved for working so hard to make this historic deal happen.
“When Justin made the decision to make a catalog deal we quickly found the best partner to preserve and grow this amazing legacy was Merck and Hipgnosis.
“For over a decade now Justin Bieber has entertained us and moved us with some of the biggest songs in the world. I’m so proud of him and all those involved over the years in helping amass this incredible body of work. Justin is truly a once in a generation artist and that is reflected and acknowledged by the magnitude of this deal.
“For 15 years I have been grateful to witness this journey and today I am happy for all those involved. Justin’s greatness is just beginning.”
Hipgnosis founder and chief executive Merck Mercuriadis hailed Justin as one of a “handful of defining artists of the streaming era”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pet Shop Boys are to release their first new music for two years.
The ‘Dreamland’ duo – comprised of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe – have confirmed they will drop a four-track EP titled ‘Lost’, to accompany the 2023 edition of their yearly-released book ‘Annually’.
They wrote on Twitter: “Pet Shop Boys will be releasing their first new music for two years with the four-track CD EP, “Lost”, which accompanies the 2023 edition of Pet Shop Boys “Annually” book, available in April.
“The EP takes its title “Lost” from the first song, “The lost room”, but “it also seems to represent a sort of larger, philosophical or political point, where there’ve been times recently where the world feels a bit lost in terms of the direction it’s going in. (sic)”
Both ‘Lost’ and the 2023 version of ‘Annually’ will drop on April 15th.
They tweeted: “The “Lost” CD EP and the 2023 edition of “Annually” will be released on April 15th and can be pre-ordered at the link below. (sic)”
In 2020, the pair credited their long career with “never” losing the “sense of playfulness” with their work.
Neil said at the time: “We have a lot of fun writing. There’s a lot of laughter.
“We are quite lucky really. I know most people in music have much more difficult relationships than we do.
“It’s not just like a job. It’s more playful than that. All creativity is out of a sense of play.
“Chris and I have never lost that sense of playfulness.”
Asked whether they have any creative differences, Neil insisted: “We can do what we want to do within Pet Shop Boys.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Scott, Playboi Carti and D-Block Europe are headlining Gopuff delivers Wireless 2023.
The popular festival – which brings the hottest acts in Hip-Hop, Rap, R’n’B, Trap, Afrobeats and Grime together – returns to London’s Finsbury Park between July 7 and July 9.
And after the line-up was leaked early on Twitter, the first announcement is here, with Lil Uzi Vert, Popcaan, Headie One, Ice Spice, FLO, Latto, Lil Durk, and Joey Bada$$ also among those set to hit the stage this summer.
Travis is returning to the Wireless stage after his headlining set in 2019.
The rap legend is set to release his new studio album ‘Utopia’ in early 2023 – the follow-up 2018’s ‘Astroworld’ – which he has described as “like psychedelic rock”.
He’s returning to the British capital after playing two nights at London’s The O2 arena last summer.
The festival appearance will also come after his 2022 ‘Road to Utopia’ Las Vegas residency where he previewed new music.
Playboi’s set is a UK exclusive, and fans could be treated to new music from his upcoming LP ‘Music’ should it be released before then.
The legendary British Hip-Hop collective D-Block are also playing their only UK show at Wireless.
On Sunday, July 9, rap icon 50 Cent will make his debut at the festival as a special guest.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nile Rodgers and CHIC, Kasabian, Royal Blood and Blossoms are the headliners for Kendall Calling 2023.
The summer extravaganza returns to Lowther Deer Park in the Lake District from July 27 to July 30, with more than 100 acts set to perform across the four days.
Nile – who last performed at the festival with CHIC in 2019 – said: “The last time we played Kendall Calling was epic and one of my favourite shows ever. We are excited to be back this year for more good times!”
Kaiser Chiefs, Rick Astley, Happy Mondays, Frank Turner, Example and more are also on the bill.
A whopping 20,000 festival-goers have already signed up for the pre-sale, the BBC reports.
Festival Co-Founders Andy Smith and Ben Robinson said: “After an absolutely stunning festival last year, we cannot wait to get back in those fields! With Kasabian, Royal Blood, Blossoms, Nile Rodgers and CHIC, Kaiser Chiefs, Rick Astley, Annie Mac – the line-up is looking absolutely stacked. Tim Burgess – who is best known as the frontman of The Charlatans – is set to play a special solo set and his Tim Peaks Diner is poised to play host to some more secret sets.
He said: “Kendal Calling has always been a favourite of The Charlatans – and even more so as Tim Peaks has been there since 2012 and I’ve felt like part of the family. Looking forward to heading back there in July, got me a solo gig, some listening parties, a DJ set and maybe a couple of surprises too.”
The festival returned last year after a two-year hiatus owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2022 edition featured headline performances from Supergrass, Stereophonics and Bastille.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Harcourt stumbled on some lyrics from an unreleased song he penned with the late Lisa Marie Presley.
The musician-and-songwriter – who is known for writing for Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Paloma Faith – worked with Elvis’ only daughter on her final LP, 2012’s ‘Storm and Grace’, and Ed has recalled Lisa Marie having a “wicked sense of humour” and a potty mouth during their sessions in 2010.
In a touching memory, Ed shared to Facebook: “Thinking of Lisa Marie Presley and her family today.
“Unearthed some lyrics of an unreleased song yesterday….the last one we wrote I believe. I had such a great time working with her back in 2010.
“We ended up writing a few tracks for her album ‘Storm and Grace’, including this one with Jimmy Hogarth. She had a wicked sense of humour and swore like a sailor and although we lost touch, I’m very fond of those times. I always thought her voice had such a gorgeous tone. RIP.”
The 54-year-old star passed away at the age of 54 on 12 January after suffering a cardiac arrest and on January 19, she was buried next to her son Benjamin Keough – who took his own life in 2020 – in the Meditation Garden at Graceland in a private service.
A public celebration of life also took place on Sunday (22.01.23).
Guns N’ Roses rocker Axl Rose was among those to pay tribute at the memorial.
The ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ hitmaker admitted he was “pretty nervous and emotional” about getting up to speak about his friend.
He said: “I didn’t really know I was going to speak or anything.
“I still feel like I don’t know that I deserve to be here, but I wanted to try to do right by her and her family and her fans. So it meant a lot, but I was pretty nervous and emotional up there.”
Axl also performed one of Lisa Marie’s favourite songs, his own band’s track ‘November Rain’, and he explained he was asked to do so because it was a request of the late star.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “It was my understanding, she actually talked about if the situation … so that’s why I was asked to do it. Of course, I had to be here.”
During the service, the 60-year-old musician admitted he was still “in shock” about Lisa Marie’s death.
He said: “I’m sure many of you are still in shock as I feel.
“I’ll continue to be for quite some time. I feel like I’m supposed to be texting her like right now saying, ‘I’m here,’ telling her how wonderful everyone is.
“I never in a million years imagined singing here, especially under these circumstances. This is truly devastating.”
Alanis Morissette and Billy Corgan were also among those to pay their respects.

The country legend released her new track ‘ Don’t Make Me Have to Come Down There’ on Thursday (19.01.23) to celebrate her 77th birthday and she shared a video on Instagram revealing the song’s unusual beginnings – explaining she came up with the idea while she was asleep in a dream which was so startling it woke her up.
In the video posted online, she said: “Today is my birthday … I’ve got a song that I’m dropping today on my birthday. It’s a song that came to me in a dream and I felt like it was worth putting out there. Something special – well, it’s special to me.
“I had a dream about God standing on a mountain looking down on us saying ‘Don’t make me come have to down there’.
“And then it woke me up, I got up, I started writing this song over a period of weeks, months. I finished it as things would come to me, and I just felt like I should drop it on my birthday. So, I hope you enjoy it.”
In the track, Dolly sings about the dream which showed her God standing on a mountain looking down and worrying.
She sings: “Last night I had a dream about God/He was standing on a mountain top/Looking down, around in such dismay,” she sings.
“And in my dream I heard him say/Don’t make me have to come down there/My children, you had best beware/If you don’t pay attention, consequences will be dire/Don’t make me have to come down there.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Inhaler want to make “pop music that is also authentic”.
The ‘These Are The Days’ hitmakers believe many of the biggest groups in the world were “pop bands” and they know aiming for the mainstream is important to achieve huge success.
Frontman Elijah Hewson said: Our thing is, ‘Why can’t we make pop music that is also authentic?’ A lot of people think that pop music is a scary, zeitgeisty thing that can make you lose your creativity, but Nirvana and The Beatles – all these great bands – were pop bands. We’re just being honest. Do you think Oasis didn’t want to be the biggest band in the world?”
His bandmate, drummer Ryan McMahon added in an interview with NME: “Why do we have to categorise ourselves or pigeonhole ourselves into this weird cult way? We want as many people as possible to hear us.”
The group – who release their second album ‘Cuts + Bruises’ next month – will be hitting the road to support both Arctic Monkeys and Harry Styles this year and are determined to pull out all the stops with their live shows.
Elijah promised: “It’s going to be a better show. It’s not just five lads on stage chancing their arm anymore; we actually have to step up and make it a real thing.”
Bassist Robert Keating added: “We’re not here to be a mid-bill festival band – you have to keep pushing to the very top.”
But the ‘My Honest Face’ rockers won’t be partying hard while out on tour because they care so much about their careers.
Robert said: “There are a lot of bands that are ambitious for the wrong reasons. We don’t get on it or get hammered. Everything we do, we care about it and we think about it.”
Ryan added: “You see interviews with big artists from the ‘90s and they can’t remember anything from back in the day. We want to remember this, because it’s such an amazing thing to say we have done.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Phoebe Bridgers has been inspired by Taylor Swift’s approach to fame.
The 28-year-old singer believes Taylor, 33, hasn’t “sacrificed fun at all” – despite the pressures of fame and success.
Asked if Taylor is “an example to follow”, Phoebe told Rolling Stone magazine: “I take inspiration from the people I see who are happy, and I’m still trying to [be].
“She’s such a deep, wise human being, and has not sacrificed fun at all. She validates those boundaries that people have tried to take from her for her whole life.”
Despite this, Phoebe thinks she’s fortunate to have such a strong support network around her.
She said: “You don’t hear enough about how people become successful and then happy. I’m able to hire my best friends to travel the world with me, and I don’t have any s***** people around anymore.”
Meanwhile, Phoebe previously admitted that she’s actually bonded with many of her close friends through their feelings of “trauma”.
The chart-topping star explained: “It sucks that I trauma-bonded with a lot of my friends first. We didn’t get to come from a place of joy; we had to connect on something so dark.”
Phoebe is also aware that she now has a certain degree of influence, thanks to her success in the music business.
The singer – who released her debut album, ‘Stranger in the Alps’, in 2017 – said: “I’m selling me. If I post a link to my friend’s GoFundMe, maybe two people will donate to it. But if I’m like, ‘Hey, I will trade you this piece of myself for this’ – I do it all the time with songs … It’s a lighthearted way to draw attention to something that’s dire.
“As a musician, I have no power to draw anybody’s attention to something in any other way.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ]Metallica’s new single “addresses the taboo word suicide”.
The heavy metal band have just shared ‘Screaming Suicide’, the second single from their upcoming album ’72 Seasons’, and they’ve also explained the ambition behind the track.
They said in a statement: “The intention is to communicate about the darkness we feel inside. It’s ridiculous to think we should deny that we have these thoughts.
“At one point or another, I believe most people have thought about it. To face it is to speak the unspoken. If it’s a human experience, we should be able to talk about it. You are not alone.”
The band’s new album will be released in April, and frontman James Hetfield previously explained their inspiration behind ’72 Seasons’.
The 59-year-old star said: “The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves. The concept that we were told ‘who we are’ by our parents. A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are.
“I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today. Much of our adult experience is reenactment or reaction to these childhood experiences. Prisoners of childhood or breaking free of those bondages we carry.”
Metallica previously announced plans for a huge tour in 2023 and 2024.
The ‘Enter Sandman’ rockers will embark on the mammoth tour in support of their new album, which will see them play two shows in each city with different setlists.
The jaunt spans 2023 and 2024, and is due to kick off in Amsterdam on April 27.

OHMYGOSSIP — Azealia Banks insists the music industry “cannot get rid of [her]”.
The 31-year-old rap star hasn’t released an album in almost a decade, but Azealia insists she’s not a “has-been”.
The rapper – who shot to global stardom with her 2011 hit single ‘212’ – said: “What is success in music any more? Nobody knows, and for the people who do know, it means scheduling your smiles and crafting some weird character.
“I think it’s really unfair that people call Azealia Banks a has-been – you are a never-was, and a never-f******-will-be. You didn’t have the courage to put yourself out there because you were afraid you were going to fail, but I’ve had success.
“You only have to be right one time to be considered successful, and my batting average is very f****** high.”
Azealia feels proud of her new music and she’s also proud that she’s managed to battle against the odds in the industry.
She told the Guardian newspaper: “My music is good as s***! If you can’t get off to your own s***, then you probably should not be making music.
“I’ve done this by myself, with knives in my back, rocks thrown at me, kicked off cliffs. And I still keep coming back – you cannot get rid of me.
“Y’all have all the help in the world, y’all got writers, y’all got producers, y’all got f****** everybody! And you still sound like s***.”
Despite this, Azealia is aware that she’s become an easy target for criticism over the years.
She said: “Even though I know that the internet is not a real place, there are enough people who take it seriously enough to feel like they can put their hands on me in real life.
“They feel like they can launch frivolous lawsuits and use this villainous, stupid narrative against me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Maneskin refuse to be “pigeon-holed or labelled”.
The Italian rock band have enjoyed a meteoric rise since winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021, and their new single, ‘Kool Kids’, is aimed directly at their critics.
Frontman Damiano David explained: “That song is basically a huge f*** off to all the people that told us rock bands don’t do Eurovision and tried to label us.”
The group’s lead singer was actually accused of using drugs amid the Eurovision Song Contest.
And even though he was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing, Damiano still feels frustrated by the situation and the criticism that’s been aimed at the band.
He told The Sun newspaper: “We wrote it immediately after Eurovision about everyone who knocked us and all the controversy that followed it.
“We just make music and this record shows our diversity – it can’t be pigeon-holed or labelled.”
Damiano feels it’s outdated and unnecessary to put a band or an artist into a specific genre of music.
He said: “In general our generation feels that we don’t need to be labelled any more and I think music reflects society. Today nobody cares if they’re rock, pop or whatever – they just want to enjoy music and that’s all that matters.”
The band have enjoyed huge success since winning Eurovision – but Damiano admits there’s a price to pay for fame and success.
He said: “It can be lonely on the road. I’m lucky that we are friends and like family but there are times when it’s hard.
“Many artists are starting to share the negative parts as well as the beautiful parts of this life and I think it’s important to tell people when you’re not feeling well or are overwhelmed by the job, there are limits.
“It makes the connection with your fans more honest and empathetic. I admire what Shawn Mendes did [the singer postponed his live shows to focus on his mental health] and many artists are doing the same.
“It’s brave and takes courage and shows responsibility. Moves like that are slowly going to change our environment and make it healthier.”

Walt Disney Records has announced the release of ‘Lofi Minnie: Chill’ – out now – which contains classic Disney songs reimagined by some of the best artists in the Lofi Hip-Hop genre. It is the follow-up to the 2022 debut LP ‘Lofi Minnie: Focus’.
The chill out album contains iconic Disney tracks such as ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’, Jungle Book’s ‘The Bare Necessities’ and ‘Let It Go’ from ‘Frozen’.

Although the 29-year-old rapper only released his chart-topping third album ‘This Is What I Mean’ two months ago, Stormzy has already been in the studio working on new music.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Stormzy isn’t resting on his laurels and has been writing and recording new songs already.
“Artistically he seems to be the strongest and most creative he has ever been.
“Stormzy has been doing some stuff at Qube studios in London.
“He registered a new track on a songwriting database earlier this month.
“The track is called ‘Fire’ and it’s been pegged as a potential hit.”
And, it is believed that Stormzy could release another album this year.
The insider added: “Those around Stormzy think the song could spawn another album.
“It is really empowering and moving – and is very much in the vein of ‘This Is What I Mean’.
“His label is really excited about what they are hearing and no one should be surprised if Stormzy strikes while the iron is hot and releases new music this year.
“It is a hugely exciting time for him.”
Stormzy has been nominated for three BRIT awards next month for this third album, including Best British Album, Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap Act and Artist of the Year.

OHMYGOSSIP — Inhaler credit the Beatles documentary with helping them relieve the pressure of working on their second album.
The Dublin group revealed Peter Jackson’s ‘Get Back’ offered them some comfort and inspiration while working on their upcoming release ‘Cuts Bruises’.
Drummer Ryan McMahon told NME: “You’re watching the greatest band of all time and go through their own problems and their own struggles. You think, ‘That’s a perfect record – how could there be anything wrong with it?’, and then you see what their relationship was like. It gave us a sense that, though we were at loggerheads sometimes, we were all working on something that felt good and felt right.”
Singer Eli Hewson – whose father is U2 frontman Bono – admitted that the band really struggled with their second album.
He said: “We had such a hard time making this record. We thought, ‘Aren’t you meant to enjoy making a record to some extent?’”
And, Hewson also revealed that the band have a difficult time defining their own genre.
He explained: “We don’t think of ourselves as a boyband. We’re not in the pop mainstream but we’re not a proper rock band.”
Meanwhile, bassist Robert Keating insisted that the band is serious about their music and are not just in it for the fame.
He said: “There are a lot of bands that are ambitious for the wrong reasons. We don’t get on it or get hammered. We don’t go to shoots or award shows just to be there. Everything we do, we care about it and we think about it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Shania Twain was “petrified” to sing after undergoing throat surgery.
The 57-year-old singer was terrified she’d never perform again after Lyme disease damaged her vocal chords but after relearning to sing with warm-ups and physical therapy, she went under the knife in 2018 to strengthen the weakened nerves and she was “really, really really excited” when she was successfully able to belt out a song after the operation.
She told America’s InStyle magazine: “After I had the surgery, I was petrified to make a sound.
“I didn’t know what was going to come out.
“It did scare me, but I just had to take the leap and make a sound. And I was so excited about what came out.
“It was a connection to the vocal cords and it came out very easily. I was really, really, really excited.”
The ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’ hitmaker views her medical issues as a reminder not to take things for granted, and she’s aware she could have vocal issues again in the future.
She said: “It’s a reminder, don’t take time for granted. Don’t take the opportunity for granted. It’s possible I might lose it, that it may not last. I guess any prosthetic or support that you get that is synthetic, your body still may give out around it. It could happen.”
Shania is enjoying a career resurgence ahead of the release of her album ‘Queen of Me’ – her first record in five years – after performing with Harry Styles last April and being the subject of Netflix documentary ‘Not Just a Girl’.
She reflected: “All these years later, I’m still here, almost in a bigger way, and I’m embracing it.”
