OHMYGOSSIP — Jane’s Addiction debuted their first new song in 10 years at a show in California earlier this month.
The rockers haven’t offered up any new music since they released the single ‘Another Soulmate’ back in 2013 but during a gig in Bakersfield on March 5, they treated the audience to their first performance of ‘True Love’ which frontman frontman Perry Farrell introduced as “something very special”.
Before closing out the show, Perry told the crowd: “We want to give you something very special … We’re gonna leave you with a brand new song no one’s ever heard, you guys will hear it first.”
The new song has renewed hopes the band might be working on the long-awaited follow up to their 2011 album ‘The Great Escape Artist’. However, they remain without guitarist Dave Navarro, 55, who has been struggling with the effects of Long COVID – the sustained illnesses people can suffer after recovering from COVID-19.
He has been replaced by former Red Hot Chili Peppers star Josh Klinghoffer on their current tour.
However, they are working with former member Eric Avery again and last year he revealed Perry had big plans for the band’s future which involved new music.
He said: “He [Perry] presented this idea of me returning to Jane’s, and how we would do it. He was like, ‘Here’s a few years’ plan of how to return some luster to Jane’s Addiction.’ It involved writing new music and playing shows.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Damned take aim at the “conveyor belt of bozos” who have led Britain on their latest track, ‘Beware of the Clown’.
The political punk legends have shared the second single from their upcoming 12th studio album, ‘DARKADELIC’.
Founding member Captain Sensible came up with the lyrics that mock the “clowns” who have been in charge at Downing Street.
The lyrics include: “Replaced by a clone. Equally tragic. Beware of the clown. Intent on shaking you down.”
The 12-track follow-up to 2018’s ‘Evil Spirits’ is released on April 28.
‘Beware of the Clown’ follows the release of lead single ‘The Invisible Man’ last month.
The group – comprising vocalist Dave Vanian, guitarist Captain Sensible, bassist Paul Gray, keyboardist Monty Oxymoron and new drummer Will Glanville Taylor in place of original member Pinch – kick off their UK tour at Cardiff’s Great Hall on March 31.
The run concludes at London’s Alexandra Palace Theatre on April 20.
Last year, the band played their first show with the original line-up in more than three decades.
The reunion run was due to take place in 2021 but was postponed amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Jonas Brothers have announced a one-off concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
The pop trio – comprising brothers Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas – are set to perform their greatest hits, plus their new hit ‘Wings’, at the world-famous concert hall on April 14.
Before then, the ‘Sucker’ hitmakers are heading to Broadway for a five-night residency between March 14 and March 18.
Each night, the siblings will focus on a different album, including ‘Jonas Brothers’, ‘A Little Bit Longer’, ‘Lines, Vines and Trying Times’, ‘Happiness Begins’ and their upcoming LP ‘The Album’.
They announced on Instagram recently: “Your boys are back in town. We’re coming to Broadway and playing the Marquis Theatre March 14-18!! Each night will be focused on a different album and we’ll be playing all the hits. Following the announcement, the trio released lead single ‘Wings’.
Joe previously spoke about how he feels ‘Wings’ “feels like a trailer to the rest of the body of work”.
He said: “It might be the shortest song on the album, but I like it because it feels like a trailer to the rest of the body of work. Also ‘Montana Sky.’ There’s a lot more acoustic guitar and real organic instruments that tap into a bunch of different influences, but we’re aware of the fact that we’re not a country act. [producer] Jon Bellion flipped it on its head — he’s got a modern edge to everything he does, even if it has really classic elements.”
They have also stated that the Bee Gees were a huge inspiration for the album.
Kevin said: “They were a huge influence in our lives, growing up and listening to them with our father. And obviously, as we grew up being three brothers in a band, we definitely understood similarities.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Tom Jones, Nile Rodgers + Chic and Kaiser Chiefs are set to headline a brand new festival called Greenwich Summer Sounds.
Top music acts will play the Old Royal Naval College this summer, with the multi-day event taking place between July 4 and July 8, 2023.
The festival is by IMG, who are behind The Big Feastival, Hampton Court Palace Festival, Taste of London and Hyde Park Winter Wonderland.
And as well as being serenaded by big names, attendees can tuck into tasty street food, and have the unique experience of a “first-class banquet” feasting in the Painted Hall.
Funk legends Nile Rodgers and CHIC will get the party started headlining on July 4, and Welsh music legend Tom is the closing act on July 6.
‘I Predict A Riot’ rockers Kaiser Chiefs headline on July 8.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ellie Goulding and Calvin Harris have released their jungle dance track ‘Miracle’.
The singer and DJ – who are ex-lovers – have followed up 2013’s dance-pop tune ‘Need Your Love’ and 2014’s ‘Outside’ with the new floor-filler.
The arrival of the chart-topping pair’s latest tune comes after Ellie was forced to postpone her new album for a second time.
The ‘Let It Die’ hitmaker – whose fifth studio album ‘Higher Than Heaven’ was originally set to be released in February before being pushed back to March 24 – has been delayed again to April 7, this time due to issues in “sourcing” material for physical formats.
In a lengthy statement on Instagram, she wrote: “As you know, making these products as green as possible is incredibly important to me so we’ve worked really hard to stick to that promise.
“As a result and due to delays in sourcing these products, we have to push back the release ever so slightly to April 7 just so we can get these beautiful products to you as soon as humanly possible.
“Thank you ever so much for your patience and I love you all. Ellie x (sic)”
When she first delayed the album – the follow-up to 2020’s ‘Brightest Blue’ – Ellie teased “some exciting opportunities” which she is looking forward to sharing with her supporters.
She said in January: “To my incredible fans – I’m sorry to announce that we’re delaying the release of Higher Than Heaven to March 24.
“I know you’ve all been so patient with me but we’ve had some exciting opportunities appear behind the scenes which I cannot wait to share with you in due course.”
Speaking last year, Ellie reflected on the project as a whole and explained how the pandemic had impacted the writing and recording process.
She said: “There was definitely a darkness about [the past two years] that was palpable in the studio, with everyone having gone through it differently.
“I think for that reason, nobody wanted to sit and agonise over some relationship or some drama. So that’s how this album came together.”
Meanwhile, Ellie has just announced an Amazon concert special.
The 36-year-old singer performed at the breathtaking Royal Botanical Gardens in Richmond, London for ‘Monumental: Ellie Goulding at Kew Gardens’, which arrives on Amazon Freevee on March 31.

OHMYGOSSIP — Haim are headlining Luno presents All Points East 2023.
The pop trio – comprising siblings Alana, Este and Danielle Haim – will top the bill on Bank Holiday Monday August 28, in what marks their only European gig of the year.
It’s the ‘Want You Back’ group’s first time playing the festival at London’s Victoria Park.
They’ll be supported by the likes of Girl In Red, Confidence Man, Lizzy McAlpine, Tove Lo, Joesef, Snail Mail, Romy (The xx).
New York indie legends The Strokes – who performed their first UK show in four years at the festival in 2019 – will return to top the bill on August 25.
Support comes from their peers Yeah Yeah Yeahs, plus the likes of Girl in Red, Amyl and The Sniffers, Angel Olsen, and black midi.
The multi-day event will also see a headline performance from London’s finest, Stormzy.
The rapper has curated the bill on August 18 to celebrate the release of his acclaimed 2022 LP, ‘This Is What I Mean’.
In a video shared on Twitter, he said: “I was thinking what’s next, cos we’ve done three O2s, shut that down. I said to the team, we gotta do something bigger, something better, something different.
“We were having back-to-back meetings, bouncing ideas. Then it hit me, I started jotting down ideas thinking – live band, need a live band.
“August 2023, a summertime thing, outside, for the people, always for my people. So August 2023, Victoria Park, more info coming soon… This Is What We Mean Day. Hard.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Shania Twain has playing Glastonbury’s Sunday afternoon legends slot on her “wish list”.
The 57-year-old megastar would love to follow in the footsteps of Dolly Parton and Kylie Minogue by playing the special performance slot on the Pyramid Stage reserved for music’s greats.
This year, Cat Stevens/Yusef will have the honour.
Shania told NME: “It’s on my wish list – absolutely.
“So I’ll make sure I do that. It’s a legendary thing, I know, but it’s on my wish list.”
The ‘You’re Still The One’ hitmaker sharing her wish of playing the legends slot comes days after Lana Del Rey hinted she could pull out of performing at the world-famous festival.
The ‘Born to Die’ singer wasn’t impressed that organisers didn’t announce she will have one of the top slots this summer when they released the first wave of artists on the line-up last week, with headliners Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses and Sir Elton John listed at the top of the promotional poster alongside Lizzo – who organiser Emily Eavis said would have headlined if the ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ hitmakers hadn’t already been promised top billing – and then the rest of the acts mentioned in alphabetical order.
Lana wrote on Instagram: “Well, I’m actually headlining the 2nd stage. But since there was no consideration for announcing that we’ll see.”
A source close to the star admitted she was “disappointed” and felt “let down”.
The insider told The Sun on Sunday newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Lana is disappointed. She was proud to be doing a headline slot, but on the announcement graphic her name is buried among lesser-known artists.
“She feels let down being presented as an afterthought lagging behind the all-male trio.”
Glastonbury organiser Emily recently addressed the backlash against the festival having nearly all-male headliners, with the exception of Melissa Reese in Gun N’ Roses.
She said of Lizzo, who will take to the Pyramid stage in the slot before the heavy metal band: “She could totally headline. Many of the artists could. But the headline slot had already been promised to someone else.”
Emily – who claimed there are two women lined up to headline next year – called on the wider music industry to invest more in female musicians.
She said: “We’re trying our best so the pipeline needs to be developed. This starts way back with the record companies, radio. I can shout as loud as I like but we need to get everyone on board…
“It’s top of our agenda, and it probably makes it a bit harder because we’ve decided to make that important to us. To be honest, sometimes it’s easier to keep your head down.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mimi Webb has been inspired by Dua Lipa’s ascent to global pop phenomenon.
The ‘Red Flags’ hitmaker, 22, is mirroring the 27-year-old superstar’s rise to stardom after she became the first British female artist since Dua to have two singles make the top 15 of the UK’s Official Singles Chart before putting out an album.
Speaking to Billboard, she said of the ‘Don’t Start Now’ hitmaker: “I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from how she has done the steps and built from scratch, doing the small shows to the big arenas.”
The BRIT-nominated star previously explained how her job as a shop assistant prepared her for life in pop music.
She said: “I started in retail when I was like, 16, or 17. I’d do weekdays and a few weekends while I was in and out of the studio. It is hard.
“You have to keep going and you are on your feet, but it definitely taught me to keep going now, which is useful!”
And the ‘House on Fire’ hitmaker credits her rise to fame to video-sharing app TikTok.

OHMYGOSSIP — Bebe Rexha burst into tears the first time she heard Dolly Parton’s vocals on their upcoming duet ‘Seasons’.
The ‘I’m Good (Blue)’ hitmaker’s dream came true after the country music legend agreed to feature on the track on Bebe’s upcoming third studio album.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper’s Guilty Pleasures column, she said: “We connected to Dolly and sent her the song. A week later – it was so chill – she sent us her vocal, and I cried the first time I heard it. It’s about the seasons changing and also wanting to change for the better, after getting stuck in bad habits.”
The 77-year-old icon sings about “looking at herself in the mirror and still feeling like a child, nobody warning you that, when you grow older, you’re born and you die alone.”
Bebe said: “It’s a cool perspective because you’re getting it from her, where she is in her life versus where I’m at in mine … no matter what age you are, you’re searching.”
After the ‘Jolene’ hitmaker phoned in the vocals, Bebe got to meet her idol in person.
She gushed: “It was everything I expected: kind and beautiful, inside and out.”
Snoop Dogg, 51, also features on the track ‘Satellite’.
The 33-year-old star said of the hip-hop legend: “He was like, ‘Yo! Check your inbox.’ I listened to it and was blown away.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds have released the remix of ‘Pretty Boy’ featuring The Cure’s Robert Smith.
The former Oasis rocker recruited emo legend Robert and the group’s drummer Jason Cooper for the “spaced-out” version of the high-energy tune.
‘Lovecats’ singer Robert, 63, said: “I was surprised and delighted when Noel asked me to remix this gorgeous song, and I had a lot of fun slowing it down and spacing it out – Cure drummer Jason Cooper gave me a great vibey drum track to play along with – and the rest just phased into place under the starry sky of my distant moon…”
The original was released as the lead single to Noel’s upcoming studio album ‘Council Skies’, which is released on June 2.
Former The Smiths star Johnny Marr, 59, also plays guitar on the track.
So far, Noel has released two tracks, also including the anthemic ‘Easy Now’.
The 55-year-old Britpop legend went back to his roots for the record.
He said of the album: “It’s going back to the beginning. Daydreaming, looking up at the sky and wondering about what life could be … that’s as true to me now as it was in the early ’90s. When I was growing up in poverty and unemployment, music took me out of that.
“‘Top of the Pops’ on TV transformed your Thursday night into this fantasy world, and that’s what I think music should be. I want my music to be elevating and transforming in some way.”
The deluxe LP also features a collaboration with ‘Pet Shop Boys’ on ‘Think Of A Number’ and Noel’s BBC Radio 2 live version of Oasis hit ‘Live Forever’.
Meanwhile, Noel recently admitted he’ll “never say never” to an Oasis reunion.
He said: “You should never say never, [but] it would have to take an extraordinary set of circumstances.
“That’s not to say that those circumstances would never come about.”
The ‘Some Might Say’ group split in 2009 following a backstage bust-up between feuding siblings Noel and Liam, 50, at their final gig in France.
And when asked how he and the band’s former frontman are getting on these days, he replied: “Oh, brilliantly, yeah. Genuinely, yeah.
“He [Liam] has taken a year out apparently to find himself.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Buzzcocks and Lambrini Girls are the latest additions to Iggy Pop’s Dog Day Afternoon all-dayer.
The punk legend has rallied together the biggest names in punk for the extravaganza at Crystal Palace Park on July 1.
As well as headliner Iggy – the ‘Godfather of Punk’ himself – Blondie and supergroup Generation Sex, featuring Billy Idol and Tony James from Generation X as well as the Sex Pistols’ Steve Jones and Paul Cook, were already confirmed.
Speaking during a Q+A held at London’s legendary 100 Club on Tuesday night (07.03.23), Tony said of the supergroup’s formation: “It started when we were recording the single ‘Dancing With Myself’ from our third album [1981’s ‘Kiss Me Deadly’]. We asked Steve Jones to come and ‘Give it some b******s’, as he would say, on the choruses. He came down to the studio and ended up playing on four or five of tracks on that on that record. It was just so great playing with him in the studio… And Paul was there as well. We kind of thought ‘Wow, this could be really good. Maybe we should do something or five of us.’ We were gonna have two drummers, Terry [Chimes] and Paul Cook, all playing together, because we rehearsed a bit in the studio. It seemed like a brilliant idea at the time but it wasn’t the right time. So it’s something we’d always considered.”
He added: “Cut to 2018 … Billy called me up and we went to see U2 together. Something that Americans do brilliantly is the VIP area … they walked us through and I suddenly found myself flanked either side by Sean Penn and Brad Pitt. Then I saw this smiling face and it was Steve Jones. He said ‘We ought to do something together,’ I agreed and looked at Billy, looked back and Steve had vanished! Six months later, we played shows in Los Angeles to see how it would work and it was such a joyous moment to play together. We thought ‘We must do more of this’ – and here we are!”
Blondie bandleader Debbie Harry said when the event was first announced in November: “Blondie and Iggy Pop … we are excited to reunite with our friend, the one and only Prince of Punk, Iggy, for this special show in Crystal Palace Park next summer. Once more, with feeling!”

OHMYGOSSIP — BTS star RM has been focusing on getting to know himself away from the K-Pop boy band.
The 28-year-old star and his bandmates – Jin, 30, Suga, 29, J-Hope, 29, Jimin, 27, V, also 27, and Jungkook, 25 – are taking an extended break and pursuing solo careers while they each carry out their mandatory military service, and after a decade in the group, RM admits he’s needed to take the time to find himself and travel the globe for inspiration.
He told Spain’s EFE: “I wanted to see artworks by Goya, Velazquez and Picasso for inspiration and I’ve been to the Prado and other museums.”
RM continued: “After 10 years as a member of BTS, I didn’t know who I was and I wanted to know.
“I started out as a teenage rapper, then BTS came along and it was all very intense. Now that the group is inactive, I’ve gone back to thinking about the beginnings and the real reasons why I joined BTS.”
The rapper-and-singer – who released his debut solo album ‘Indigo’ in December – is hopeful the ‘My Universe’ hitmakers will reunite in the future.
He said: “When you are famous, staying on top is very difficult, but I think BTS will make it.”
Meanwhile, Jimin’s debut solo album ‘Face’ features contributions from RM.
The latter is credited on the tracks ‘Face Off’ and ‘Like Crazy’, as well as the English version of ‘Like Crazy’.
A press release stated that the album, set for release on March 24, is the “story of fronting [Jimin’s] true self and making a new leap forward as an artist.
“Through ‘Face’, Jimin will present his own musicality with distinct timbre and impeccable dance performance.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Winehouse’s band have performed together again for the first time in London since her passing.
The ‘Rehab’ hitmaker tragically died of alcohol poisoning in July 2011, aged 27, and the group reunited for a set at QT at Middle Eight in Covent Garden on Tuesday (07.03.23), and are set to play the venue again on May 10.
The music icon’s father Mitch Winehouse was in attendance.
Amy’s musical director and bass player Dale Davis and much of the original band were joined by singer Bronte Shande Kirkby at the intimate show.
The band have been working on the upcoming biopic, ‘Back to Black’, to ensure its accuracy and to help with the music.
In an interview with London’s Evening Standard, Dale said: “I want the best for Amy and her legacy.”
Marisa Abela, 26, has been cast in the role of the ‘Valerie’ hitmaker, but the casting was met with a backlash.
Commenting on the negative reactions, Dale said: “There was always going to be a film coming out about Amy… you’re always going to get criticism of whatever you do.”
Mitch recently said he thinks Marisa is a “great choice” to play his daughter and insisted it doesn’t matter that they “don’t look exactly alike”.
The former taxi driver told TMZ: “Marisa is Marisa and Amy is Amy … so it’s no big deal if they aren’t mirror images. Marisa is a great choice for the role.”
Eddie Marsan is playing the part of Mitch in the upcoming film, and Mitch insists he’s not worried that he and Eddie don’t look alike, either.
He said: “There’s too much emphasis on looks, because there’s plenty of Hollywood examples of actors not looking like their real-life character.”
Mitch previously insisted that he wants his daughter to be remembered for her successes, rather than her off-stage troubles.
Speaking ahead of the 10th anniversary of Amy’s death last year, he said: “There will be tears, without a doubt.
“Every year is difficult but of course ten years on brings attention – which I understand but it brings it all back too. It’s hard to avoid being upset. In many ways we will never get over it, however long passes.
“But shortly afterwards, we will head somewhere for a meal and our focus will be on the amazing things about Amy’s life – her talent, her generosity and the love she showed us all.
“That’s become my mission, to make sure people think of Amy for all she gave the world and those around her, not just for her troubles with addiction.
“Of course we remember the big career highs, the awards, but my favourite memories are the smaller, more personal moments we shared.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Zara Larsson is having lessons to be a qualified helicopter pilot.
The ‘Symphony’ hitmaker is enjoying the challenge and after 100 hours of flying lessons she will have a license to take a chopper wherever she wants.
Appearing on the ‘Zach Sang Show’, she said: “It’s a fun challenge. Maybe I’ll end up not using it, but I can tell myself, ‘I did that’. And if there’s an emergency, you know who to call.
“I think it’s making up for not graduating high school or something. If you go to the studio and you put down 100 hours you might write a good song. If you put down 100 hours in the air you are getting a certificate.
“It’s very absolute and very much about your own discipline and how you want the outcome to be. It’s fun and something completely different from the music. It’s so not creative in any way.”
The 25-year-old Swedish singer enjoys being in the cockpit because she has to be fully focused on flying and it is a hobby that doesn’t allow for distractions.
She added: “There’s so much you need to do. If you fly an aeroplane, once you’re up in the air you don’t need to do too much.
“When you’re flying a helicopter, you have the pedals, you hold one thing with this hand and one thing with this hand. You can’t let go of anything.
“It’s my dream because I can’t be like, ‘Let me just check my phone’. I struggle with that even when I drive. I think it’s good for my brain to be constantly stimulated.”

The 48-year-old singer has two sons, 18-year-old son Charley and Beau with her ex-husband Jamie Redknapp, and she has revealed her younger boy gets embarrassed by her pop star job, especially when it involves her showing off her body to promote her singles.
Beau did like her last video ‘Super Magic’ because she kept her clothes on.
Speaking on the ‘White Wine Question Time’ podcast, she said: “My older one, he laughs it off now. The 14 year old, doesn’t… although I don’t really do anything.
“My last music video, he said to me, ‘It’s nice to see you fully clothed in this music video.’ I’ve got like trousers and a top and flats on! He hasn’t seen the next video, with my silver bodysuit that’s coming out next!
“I’d never do anything that’s not tasteful, I’d never do anything that they’d be really embarrassed by, it’s all banter. I know that they are so proud, they are my biggest champions.”
Louise recently opened up on one of her most famous music videos, revealing that the promo for 1996 single ‘Naked’ was inspired by Madonna
Reflecting on the Queen of Pop’s influence, she said: “Without Madonna so many of us wouldn’t have been doing what we were doing.
“I did the ‘Naked’ video and there’s no way I would have done it if Madonna hadn’t been around. She was pushing boundaries and wasn’t afraid to be herself and as an artist that’s incredibly inspiring.”
Louise first found fame in the RnB group Eternal in the early 90s, and the singer feels incredible “lucky” to have survived for so long in the music business.
The singer – who has a new greatest hits collection coming out in 2023 – said: “There’s so many awful things going on in the world and I feel so lucky to be doing what I’m doing. It’s been 30 years since I first released music. 30 years. I can’t believe it. I feel so lucky that I’m still able to do this.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Bugg has gained new fans from having his song as the ‘Happy Valley’ theme tune – but he’s never seen the hit crime drama.
The 29-year-old singer-songwriter’s 2012 hit ‘Trouble Town’ plays in the opening credits.
Asked if it was a hard decision to make approving the request to have the tune played on the show during an appearance on the Absolute Radio Hometime Show, he replied: “Yeah, you want it to be a thing that reflects well on the music and it has to kind of have some connection but people tell me that it works and it’s hard, I think the writer, because you’re always thinking like it always seems detached no matter how well it works. But I’ve heard the show is great.”
When asked if he’s seen the programme, he admitted: “No, I’ve not seen it, but I’ve heard It’s brilliant. And I should, to be honest. Now, if the song’s on it.”
Meanwhile, Jake has been added to the line-up for Teenage Cancer Trust at The Royal Albert Hall.
The ‘Two Fingers’ hitmaker will headline the legendary venue in London as part of the fundraising concert series on March 23.
He said: “I have always been a supporter of Teenage Cancer Trust. It’s an honour to represent TCT at the Albert Hall and I look forward to playing songs from the last decade to celebrate their great work.”
Kasabian, Wet Leg, Courteeners, and Underworld are also headlining their own nights for TCT.
Acid house icons Underworld – comprising Karl Hyde and Rick Smith – will play on March 20, with a special guest.
The duo said: “It’s such an honour and a delight and it’s just really f****** great to be performing for the wonderful Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall on March 20th.”
Indie sensations Wet Leg – Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chamber – will be joined by rising singer-songwriter CMAT at the hall on March 22.
Manchester rockers Courteeners are set for March 24, and Kasabian will be joined by The Snuts on March 25.
The charity shows made a triumphant return in 2022, post-COVID, with performances from The Who, Ed Sheeran, Liam Gallagher, YUNGBLUD, Madness and more.
