OHMYGOSSIP — An 18 year old has confessed to fatally shooting Pop Smoke.
The man – who was 15 at the time of the shooting, which occurred during a home invasion in 2020 – was charged with first-degree murder in juvenile court.
He also admitted to home-invasion robbery and that “he personally and intentionally discharged a firearm during the crime”.
According to the Los Angeles Times, he will be held in a state juvenile facility until he is 25 years old.
The man’s identity has been protected by a court order because he was a juvenile at the time of the incident.
LA County Superior Court Judge J. Christopher Smith told the 18-year-old man and his 19-year-old co-defendant that Pop Smoke – whose real name was Bashar Jackson – “lost his life over no good reason”.
According to City News Service, he said: “You have no right to take somebody’s life. You have no right to take somebody’s property.”
In April, a 20-year-old man pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter. As he was 17 at the time of the shooting, he was sentenced to four years and two months in a juvenile facility.
Two other men have been charged in the case, Corey Walker and Keandre Rodgers, who were 19 and 18 at the time.
In February 2020, the group broke into Pop Smoke’s rental home in the Hollywood Hills after he shared an Instagram post that revealed the address.
They confronted him in the shower, where according to testimony, the then 15-year-old boy “pistol-whipped the rapper and shot him three times in the back”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Glen Matlock will never stop making new music.
The former Sex Pistol, 66, released his latest solo album, ‘Consequences Coming’, in April, and while he’s “proud” of the LP, he admits that never everything he’s released has “set the world on fire” – but that won’t prevent him from putting new tunes out.
In an interview with Blitzed Magazine, he said: “Do I get nervous? (thinking) I don’t know? I mean I have been putting out albums and admittedly they haven’t always set the world on fire.
I have been particularly proud of the last few I have done. This time around I kinda have a bit of a better team around me, a little bit better backing and stuff, and I was quite pleased that I did get the top-five (‘Head On A Stick’) on one of the alternative charts. But I just keep plugging away, I ain’t going to go away. I have got an old song called ‘Better Start (Getting Used To It), I am not going anywhere so people just better start getting used to it.”
And Glen’s musician pals are more than happy to come and jam with him for a coffee and cake in return.
He added: “Nobody has been beating my door down to make a record with the money to go and do it. I am almost like a new artist in a way – begging and stealing studio time.
“Also promising friends to come and play on something where they are lucky to end up with a cappuccino and a sticky bun.
“But they still do it anyway. And I do it for them as well. I reckon for every record that comes out, I think there are cassettes and tapes in a drawer somewhere, of where people are having a go at doing different things. All different combinations of people. But most musicians of a certain ilk will always have a go at doing something different in case something comes of it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Becky Hill has put her wedding on hold for her career.
The 29-year-old singer got engaged to long-term partner Charlie Gardner, who works in the events industry, last year but she has told him that they can’t plan their wedding just yet.
Becky told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I’ve been so anxious about releasing this new music because there’s a level of, like, ‘This has to f****** work’. I’m 30 next year. I’m trying to plan a life with my fiancé.
“We’ve put everything on hold for the moment because I need to see what happens and where work goes. I’m hoping it will just go up and up and up and my plan for world domination goes incredibly well.
“But it’s a scary prospect that you see all the time – people coming and going.
“Over the last 11 years I’ve been in the music industry, I’ve seen people come and go and it’s terrifying.
“If I didn’t have music in my life, I wouldn’t have a lot else.”
Becky also revealed she can’t wait to return to Glastonbury, 10 years after performing at the festival with Rudimental.
She said: “I said last year, ‘If I don’t get Glastonbury next year, I’m quitting’. So getting that was the saviour. I have little moments where I cry because of how overwhelmed I am.
“The last time I did Glastonbury was with Rudimental. I was overing for Ella Eyre, who had dropped out to do her own shows. I was 19.
“We’re gearing up to have an incredible show. I’ve got string players and brass players and six dancers and a stage design.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Roisin Murphy is selective about who she collaborates with.
The former Moloko star, 49, insists that anyone who works with her has to be happy that she will turn whatever they’ve worked on with her into her own “vision”.
She told The Guardian newspaper of teaming up with DJ Koze: “There’s not many that’ll put up with it, I can tell you.
It’s incredible when you think about it. They pour themselves into it as a 50/50 collaborator and then they let me take it into the world. I’ll make the artwork, the visuals, the video; I’ll put the shows together. It will now be my vision and they have to go with that, which on their part takes an awful lot of trust.”
Roisin has spent the last few years working on a new album and the currently unnamed record is due to be released later in 2023.
After signing to Ninja Tune, she released the single ‘CooCool’, which was produced by German native Koze in March.
In the same interview, Roisin shared how she attributes her wild onstage style to Grace Jones and Iggy Pop who have been her inspiration over the years – and she still tries to start her performances in the same manner as punk idol Iggy.
She added: “I go out on stage like him – like a bullet from a gun, straight out.”
The star’s last studio album was 2020’s ‘Roisin Machine’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Enrique Iglesias had to pull out of headlining Tecate Emblema after contracting pneumonia.
The ‘Hero’ hitmaker had been due to close out the first night of the two-day music festival in Mexico City on Saturday (13.05.23) but told fans he had been ordered to undertake “absolute rest” and banned him from travelling for the show.
In a statement shared in Spanish onto his social media accounts on Saturday, Enrique wrote: “Dear fans, much to my regret, it’ll be impossible for me to appear at the show tonight in México.
“I have pneumonia and doctors have advised absolute rest and have forbidden me to get on an airplane.”
The 48-year-old star vowed to return to Mexico “soon”.
He added: “I am frankly sad to cancel this show in a country that has given me so much. I hope to recover fast and be able to be with you all in full form soon.”
Organisers OCESA later confirmed a host of artists would take over to fill Enrique’s slot, including Danna Paola, and the ’90’s Pop Tour’ group Kabah, Magneto, Caló, JNS, The Sacados and Litzy.
They joined a bill that also included The Chainsmokers, Melanie C, One Republic, Belinda and Niki.
Sunday (14.05.23) will see headline performances from Robbie Williams and KYGO, who will take to the stage after fans have been entertained by the likes of Black Eyed Peas, Becky G, Roisin Murphy and Lasso.
Enrique’s show was due to take place following the release of his album ‘Final (Vol 1)’ and before the follow-up ‘Final (Vol 2)’, which the Spanish star has previously teased could be his last records.
He said during an Instagram conversation back in September 2021: “It might be my final album. It’s not something that I have been thinking about for the past few months. It’s something that I have been thinking about for the past few years.
“There’s going to be ”Vol. 1′ and ‘Vol. 2’, but they’re final. I’m in that moment in my life, that chapter in my life, where I think it’s the right time to put it out and I’ve been thinking about this since 2015.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Lottery Winners “hate” their name.
The ‘Let Me Down’ hitmakers – which include Thom Rylance, Robert Lally, Katie Lloyd, and Joe Singleton – wish they had chosen a different moniker because not only are they hard to find in online searches, they grow tired of cheesy puns being made when they’re talked about.
Thom told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper’s Wired column: “I hate our band name.
“It’s well too late to change it but I really wanted to call the band The Ugly People.
“We’ve been Lottery Winners for 15 years and I don’t think I have ever read an article that doesn’t say, ‘Oh they hit the jackpot with their new single.’
“So I challenge you not to use any lottery puns!”
But the group had considered promoting their new album, ‘Anxiety Replacement Therapy’, with scratch cards as a play on their name.
However, Thom said: “It’s something we thought about, and I wanted to do it for this album actually but I was told that it’s a bad idea.”
After years of working together, the group are thrilled to have finally landed a number one album, though are finding their newfound fame hard to deal with.
Thom said: “When you are a creative, you have to deal with years and years of rejection.
“So, when all of a sudden it flips and there is more acceptance and people are praising you, it’s hard to get used to that and flip the balance.
“It has been really hard to deal with it, I keep crying on stage and nobody wants that.
“Nobody is paying for tickets to see a fat man cry, and I am so sorry it keeps happening. I hope I get cool now.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tony Visconti feared the late Phil Lynott was on the verge of death when he spent three days “bedridden”.
The studio wizard – who is best known for his decades-long partnership with late music icon David Bowie – produced Phil’s band Thin Lizzy’s records ‘Bad Reputation’, ‘Live and Dangerous’ and ‘Black Rose: A Rock Legend’ in the 1970s, and after the incident, he wasn’t afraid to address Phil’s drug use with him one-on-one.
Tony recalled to Classic Rock magazine: “When Phil was bedridden for three days, I was very frightened.
“I seriously thought he was going to die in his hotel room. When he emerged I had a good heart-to-heart talk with him about his drug abuse, but he assured me, as always, that he had it under control.”
The producer added: “We really didn’t waste too much time due to drugs in the studio, but the emotional strain was terrible on me.”
Phil had a worrying addiction to heroin and alcohol.
He died of pneumonia and heart failure due to septicaemia in 1986, at the age of 36, after collapsing due to his drug misuse.
Meanwhile, Tony previously recalled how he thought Bowie had “special mental powers” after an amazing experiment for ‘Weeping Wall’.
The late musician’s longtime collaborator opened up on their experiences working on his 1977 instrumental track, which was featured on his album ‘Low’ and was inspired by his experiences seeing the impact of the Berlin Wall.
Appearing on Mary Anne Hobbs’ special show ‘Bowie at 75’ on BBC Radio 6 Music last year, Tony recalled Bowie – who died aged 69 in 2016 – asking everyone to draw a picture to represent the track as they listened to it, which they did without looking at each other’s sketches.
He said: “When it was over he said ‘OK, turn the papers over’ and we did and we all had almost identical drawings – this was really weird.
“All of us had a jagged-edged wall like the edges of a woodcutting saw. It wasn’t a wall with flat tops it was a wall with jagged tops – this is very important. Some of us put a moon over the jagged teeth and some of us put a sun over it like a circle – but almost unanimously we drew the same picture.
“And David turned his over and it was a picture of a lizard, like an alligator, with his mouth open, eating the sun – an orb – and it was all goosebumps from that moment on.
“I think even David was surprised but he was hoping that would happen – and I think in that smile I think he found that he might have some special mental powers that instigated it – this so-called coincidence.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicki Minaj has declared that her fifth studio album will be “the best thing to come out of 2023.”
The 40-year-old rapper has promised fans her follow-up to 2018’s ‘Queen’ will arrive before the end of the year, while she’s also teased a tour.
Setting expectations high, she tweeted this week: “Oh yes fractions warned, SFG did what fractions warned. Red Ruby Da Sleeze MOTHERED so hard and is now the standard. NM5 is the best thing that will come out of 2023 and will raise the bar to new and unreachable heights. NM5 tour will be hailed as “genius”. That’s it and that’s all. (sic)”
The ‘Anaconda’ hitmaker is not afraid to shower herself with praise and also tweeted earlier this week: “Imagine being a fashion icon b4 your debut album. Imagine performing with Ye and Jay in Yankee Stadium, no album out, imagine Drake, Eminem, Rihanna, Ye, WillIAm, and Natasha Bedingfield on your FIRST ALBUM. bwahahaha I have to laugh. Blessings and gratitude to my supporters. NM5 is [pinched fingers emoji]. (sic)”
This year, the star has released the tracks ‘Red Ruby da Sleeze’ and ‘Princess Diana’ with viral sensation Ice Spice.
The ‘Super Freaky Girl’ hitmaker has been teasing her fifth album for a long time now.
In November, she claimed the record was coming “soon”.
Nicki kept coy on any firm details about the LP but she gave a vague timeline for its release.
Asked what projects she had on the horizon, she told i-D Magazine: “The fifth album. I’m not gonna say when it’s gonna come out, but the album will be out soon.”
Nicki also noted that being in ” a good place” leads to her creating “the best music”.
She added: “I’m in a really great place now. I feel like whenever I’m happy, I deliver the best music.
“And in order for me to deliver the best music for my album – which is coming out soon – I have to tap back into the essence of hip-hop.”
The multi-talented star also revealed she is still keen to keep on with her acting career, and she will never step away from that side of her life “for too long”.
She said: “Definitely. I’ve been speaking to a director about doing something in a movie. In terms of TV, we’ll see. But I love acting, and I’ll never abandon acting for too long. That’s one of my biggest passions.”

OHMYGOSSIP — BLACKPINK star Jennie appears to have teased a collaboration with her ‘The Idol’ co-star The Weeknd.
The 27-year-old K-Pop star and the 33-year-old global megastar play Angel and Tedros, respectively, in the upcoming HBO drama series co-created by The Weeknd, ‘Euphoria’ scribe Sam Levinson and Reza Fahim.
And she has shared a snippet of the unreleased track, seemingly from ‘The Idol’, with vocals that sound like her and the ‘Blinding Lights’ hitmaker.
The preview was played during a DJ set at the launch of Jennie’s capsule collection for Calvin Klein in South Korea on Wednesday (10.05.23) and appeared on TikTok.
Jennie also excited fans by sharing an article by Dazed Korea with the song clip featured.
The Weeknd has already released ‘Double Fantasy’ from the hotly-anticipated series, which features rapper Future.
‘The Idol’ – which stars Lily-Rose Depp as pop star Jocelyn – is set to premiere on June 4 on HBO.
Meanwhile, The Weeknd recently claimed he wants to “kill” his stage name and revert back to his real name.
The chart-topper is on “a cathartic path right now” and though he may move to switch between his alter ego and his birth moniker Abel Tesfaye, he ultimately thinks his next album will be the last under the name fans know him best by.
He told W magazine: “I’m going through a cathartic path right now.
“It’s getting to a place and a time where I’m getting ready to close the Weeknd chapter. I’ll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to kill the Weeknd. And I will. Eventually. I’m definitely trying to shed that skin and be reborn.
“The album I’m working on now is probably my last hurrah as the Weeknd… This is something that I have to do. As the Weeknd, I’ve said everything I can say.”
The ‘Creepin” singer also admitted he never wanted to be famous when he started his career.
He said: “I’ve always been the antihero. In the beginning of my career, I didn’t show myself at all. I didn’t want to be famous. For the first two years, no one knew what I looked like.”
But when he finally appeared as The Weeknd, the star’s desire to lead a low-key life hit an “obstacle” in the form of his distinctive big hair.
He said: “The hair became an obstacle for me!
“I went from ‘No one knows who I am’ to ‘Nobody has that hair except The Weeknd.’ I was always trying to hide it.
“When I finally decided to cut it, everybody said, ‘Don’t do it!’ That gave me more reasons to do it. I was so identified with that hair that I had to cut it. I didn’t want to be known for just this or just that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Pretenders are back with the new single, ‘Let The Sun Come In’, taken from their upcoming studio album ‘Relentless’.
Chrissie Hynde and co’s follow-up to 2020’s ‘Hate for Sale’ is set for release on September 1.
Speaking about the album title, Chrissie said: “I enjoy seeing the various meanings and origins of a word. And I liked the definition: “showing no abatement of intensity”. It’s the life of the artist. You never retire. You become relentless.”
Chrissie, 71, has co-written all of the tracks with guitarist James Walbourne, 43, for the second time consecutively.
Commenting on their process, she added: “We had developed this method of working remotely and it seemed like we just kept on doing it for this album. This is something that we’ve honed down to an art in the last few years. He always comes up with something I wouldn’t have thought of myself and I love surprises.”
The album features “The Pretenders Collective”, also including Kris Sonne (drums), Chris Hill (double bass), Dave Page (bass) and Carwyn Ellis (keyboards and guitars).
And Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood has composed a string arrangement and conducted the 12 Ensemble on the hair-raising closing track, ‘I Think About You Daily’.
Chrissie previously teased the album last year, but admitted it was taking a while to get released.
That was before they signed a new record deal with Parlophone.
She told her fans on Instagram: “We have a new album coming out, ‘Relentless’.
“For some reason, which I don’t quite understand, it takes ages to get an album out these days—i.e. waiting for vinyl factories. I’m not even sure if we have a record deal. I’ll have to ask my management if I remember.”
Meanwhile, the band have a number of headline concerts coming up, as well as supporting Guns N’ Roses in the UK and Europe, including at American Express presents BST Hyde Park on June 30.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Jonas admits it “can be a little strange” singing about sex with his brothers.
The Jonas Brothers – also comprising Kevin, 35, and Joe Jonas, 33 – reference romps on their upcoming LP, ‘The Album’.
On the steamy track ‘Summer In the Hamptons’, the siblings sing: “Sex with you is like…”
Kevin began in their interview with Bustle: “It’s just natural to speak about your life and where you’re at. Like, that’s my wife and partner in crime of 13 years, you know?”
Nick, 30, then admitted: “We’re always conscious that we’re three brothers singing on stage together.
“So when we speak about sex specifically, it’s gotta be kind of a nuanced thing, otherwise it can be a little strange.”
‘Fanny (Be Tender with My Love)’ group the Bee Gees were a huge inspiration for the album.
Kevin told Variety: “They were a huge influence in our lives, growing up and listening to them with our father. And obviously, as we grew up being three brothers in a band, we definitely understood similarities.”
Asked what their favourite song on the record is, Nick – whose daughter Malti was born prematurely via surrogate last January – said: “I’m torn between ‘Little Bird,’ which is a song about parenthood that will affect people in different ways, and ‘Waffle House.’ It was a last-minute addition. At first, it was a bit of a head scratcher, but the more I listened to it, the more I loved it. I think it really encapsulates a moment in time for us. Musically it taps into some of my favourites: Doobie Brothers and Bee Gees, and others from that era. It’s a really, really, fun song. We can’t wait to play it live.”
‘The Album’ – the follow-up to 2019’s ‘Happiness Begins’ – is set for release on Friday (12.05.23).

OHMYGOSSIP — Duff McKagan wrote his new song amidst a panic attack.
The Guns N’ Roses rocker has released an EP which tackles mental health, and he’s revealed the title track, ‘This Is The Song’, came to him while he was suffering an episode and how he managed to regain his calm by strumming his acoustic guitar.
He shared in a letter to fans: “This Is The Song was written in the middle of a panic attack. I couldn’t breathe and couldn’t see straight, and lately, I have thankfully found my acoustic guitar as a refuge. If I just hold on to that guitar, play chords, and hum melodies, I can start to climb my way out of that hole. For those of you who have never experienced something like this, count yourselves blessed. To those of you who recognize what I am talking about: YOU ARE NOT ALONE! (sic)”
He sings: “This is the song that’s gonna save my life as I scrape for sanity.”
The EP also features the tracks ‘Pass You By’ and ‘Can’t Come To Soon’.
The 59-year-old musician – who released the mini album during Mental Health Awareness Month – shared how he has suffered from panic disorder since he was a teen.
He told fans in his letter: “I have dealt with a certain variety of panic disorder since the age of 16, and in these recent years, my panic disorder has morphed and twisted and brought along some darkness that seems to appear out of absolutely nowhere.
“It can be terrifying.”
The songs mark Duff’s first new solo music in four years, following his 2019 LP ‘Tenderness’.
Meanwhile, Guns N’ Roses have a jam-packed tour schedule, including headlining Glastonbury next month.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Syd Barrett Estate has partnered with Syd Barrett Music Ltd to launch an official YouTube channel for the late Pink Floyd frontman’s solo work.
Swedish animator Alex Teglbjaerg has worked his magic on clips to accompany tracks including ‘Terrapin’ and ‘Dark Globe’ from 1970’s ‘The Madcap Laugh’ and ‘Dominoes’ from ‘Barrett’.
In a statement, the Estate said: “The channel is a natural extension of Syd Barrett’s existing online presence and will consist of artistic interpretations of his solo music, with accompanying music and lyrics. Together with the Swedish animator, Alex Teglbjaerg, known as The Artist on the Border, there will be new animated music videos released on an ongoing basis. It will initially focus on the solo songs which originally appeared on An Introduction To Syd Barrett (2010).”
Peter Barrett said on behalf of the family: “There isn’t all that much filmed Syd Barrett out there.
“You’ve already seen most of the material and the few bits that pop up are quickly placed in the digital public domain. We want to take his quirky and poetic lyrics and translate them into images.”
Animator Alex added: “I try to take the listener into a Syd Barrett dream of sorts. Syd was a craftsman when it came to writing intriguing lyrics for his songs. Many times utilising cut-up techniques. That’s what I am attempting to do as well. I take what we take for granted, Syd in a room with painted floorboards and find a way to discover more. Not just zoom in, I try to immerse the viewer in that room by using collages and elements from multiple sources. But in the end, the focus is not on the visuals themselves. It lies in Syd’s music and lyrics.”
Meanwhile, the documentary, ‘Have You Got It Yet? The Story Of Syd Barrett And Pink Floyd’, is heading to cinemas in the UK on May 15.
It’s helmed by punk legend Roddy Bagawa and the late Storm Thorgerson.
Syd co-founded Pink Floyd with Roger Waters and Nick Mason in 1965 as a teen.
However, he was slowly replaced by David Gilmour as he battled an addiction to psychedelic drugs, leaving the group officially in 1968.
He died in 2006, aged 60, from pancreatic cancer.

OHMYGOSSIP — Janelle Monáe has announced her first album in five years.
The 37-year-old singer and actress’ ‘The Age of Pleasure’ record comes with a new single called ‘Lipstick Lover’ – the release of which the Emmy-winner teased on Wednesday (10.05.23) with a short clip of her emerging from a shallow pool as the track played in the background.
She said in a statement released on Thursday about the upcoming album, set for release on 9 June: “As we enter into The Age Of Pleasure ‘Lipstick Lover’ is our freea**mothaf**** anthem inspired by f.a.m. for f.a.m.
 “This is our audio oasis made with love and signed with cherry red kisses from me to you.”
Her promo clip, in which she wore a soaked see-through t-shirt with the word ‘Pleasure’ emblazoned on it, rapidly went viral.
The promotional imagery that was released with her statement – showing Janelle with her bare chest covered by her hands holding two red flowers – seems to be a nod to a popular 1972 poster for Jamaica tourism featuring Trinidadian model Sintra Bronte.
Janelle recently previewed ‘Lipstick Lover’ by performing it at her Met Gala after-party at the Boom Boom Room above the Standard Hotel in New York.
She hinted at its title by declaring at the bash: “Tonight, this year, we are in the age of motherf****** pleasure. We’re actively doing the things that make us feel good, unapologetically.”
Rolling Stone said about the single: “Fittingly, ‘Lipstick Lover’ is her take on romantic reggae, an ode to a moment of queer intimacy dotted with sugary harmonies and an earworm hook.”
The song includes the raunchy lines: “I seen it from the back and I’m excited, tell me whatchu do when we walk up in the room – I hope it’s something nasty, we can try it. I really got a thing for my lipstick lover, lover, lover, lover.”
‘The Age of Pleasure’ also includes the single ‘Float’ featuring ‘Seun Kuti and Egypt 80’.
Even though ‘The Age of Pleasure’ is Janelle’s first album since 2018’s ‘Dirty Computer’ she has been busy with a starring role in last year’s ‘Glass Onion: A Knives out Mystery’ film alongside Daniel Craig, and roles in the movies ‘Antebellum’, ‘Harriet’, and ‘The Glorias’.

The ‘Lost in Music’ hitmakers will top the bill on 5 August when the whipped top stage heads to Bristol Amhitheatre for this year’s ice cream and music extravaganza, and they’ll be joined on the bill by the likes of Pip Millett, Children of Zeus, Da Fuchaman, Felix Joy, O’Flynn, and The Mouse Outfit.
In addition, homegrown talent will be announced at a later date to perform on the Local Live stage.
Festivalgoers can enjoy free Ben and Jerry’s ice cream including the new Dulce De-lish and Choco-lotta Cheesecake Sundae flavours and will also be entertained by acts in the comedy tent or try out some fairgrind rides.
Tickets to the event cost just £10 each. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to local charities which support refugees and people seeking asylum.

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher is set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’ by playing it in full at a handful of “Biblical venues”.
The former Oasis frontman, 50, took to Twitter on Thursday (11.05.23) to announce his plan ahead of the record’s landmark birthday next year.
He told fans: “As it’s 30 years since DM (‘Definitely Maybe’) was released nxt year I’m gonna be playing the album from start to finish in its original order at a few BIBLICAL venues LG X.”
Liam’s announcement comes after his older brother Noel, 55, last month declared even though an anniversary edition of ‘Definitely Maybe’ was on its way, there will not be an Oasis reunion in 2024.
Fans’ hopes have been building the siblings would reform the group, but Noel squashed talk they will get back together to mark the 30th anniversary of their first record, released 29 August 1994.
But promising there would be a special release of the record coming out, which will feature a host of previously lost songs from the recording sessions, he told Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera: “In the Sony archives we’ve found tapes dating to those sessions.
“We thought they were lost, but they were mislabelled. They are wonderful versions of those songs, some acoustic versions.
“There won’t be a tour – we won’t come back to play them together.”
New tracks being added to the re-release will include acoustic versions of classics such as ‘Live Forever’, ‘Slide Away’ and ‘Supersonic’.
Noel added to the Italian newspaper about he knew Oasis would be massive after he wrote ‘Live Forever’: “We were nobody. I was in a flat in Manchester on a Tuesday afternoon. I took it to rehearsal and Bonehead said, ‘You didn’t write that.’
“I knew it’d be a classic.”
Noel recently said Liam had only to “get his people to call my people” about getting Oasis back together, with Liam declaring: “It’s happening.”
