Oasis add extra dates to Australia tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Oasis have extra dates to their tour of Australia due to “phenomenal demand”.
The reformed rockers are preparing to embark on a huge world tour next year – dubbed ‘Oasis Live ’25’ – marking their first live shows together since 2009 with concerts in their native UK and North America as well as Australia. Their gigs in Melbourne and Sydney registered huge demand so they have added two more shows.
A post on the band’s Instagram page read: “Australia. Due to phenomenal demand, additional dates have been announced in both Melbourne and Sydney! #OasisLive25.”
The band will now play four shows Down Under starting on October 31 and November 1 at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne and then moving on to a pair of dates at the Accor Stadium in Sydney on November 7 and 8.
In a statement announcing the first shows, the band quoted Men at Work’s hit ‘Down Under’ and wrote: “People of the land down under. You better run – you better take cover … We are coming. You are most welcome.”
The four concerts go on sale on October 15.
It comes after the ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ rockers announced the first international dates for the ‘Oasis Live 25’ tour with tickets for shows in Toronto, Chicago, New Jersey, Los Angeles and Mexico City swiftly selling out.
The Britpop icons have already sold out 19 stadium shows across the UK and Ireland next summer. Support acts are yet to be revealed for any of the gigs, but frontman Liam Gallagher has teased the idea of Richard Ashcroft and the Manic Street Preachers being part of the bill.
When a fan on X – formerly known as Twitter – asked the singer if The Verve star would be appearing on the tour, Liam replied: “That would be BIBLICAL”. He then added: “Richard Ashcroft or Manic Street Preachers as support”, before adding shortly after: “The Manics it is”.

T.I. is retiring from live performance

OHMYGOSSIP — T.I. is retiring from performing live.
The 44-year-old rapper – whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr. – will no longer be going out on stage because he doesn’t “need the money” and his last gig will be on 19 December at the 93.1 The Beat’s Jingle Ball show in Atlanta.
Appearing on 96.1 The Beat’s ‘Rari at 2’ show, he said: “I appreciate y’all for offering me my last working gig because I do not need the money anymore and I will not be performing.
“I don’t want to do it anymore. … I don’t want people to pay me to hop around and sweat for their entertainment anymore.”
Asked if he would pick up the phone for other upcoming gigs, He added: “Of course, I’m going to answer the phone to tell them that I will not be performing.”
However, he did note that he will perform again, but only his own terms.
93.1 The Beat’s Jingle Ball show will also feature performances from Tinashe, Sexyy Red, T-Pain, Saweetie, Khalid and The Kid LAROI.
One reason why T.I. doesn’t need the money from gigs anymore is that he and wife Tiny were recently awarded $71 million in damages after winning their lawsuit against toy company MGA Entertainment, who they had accused of violating their OMG Girlz music group’s intellectual property rights with their L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G. dolls.
After the verdict was announced, the couple said they were delighted to see “justice has been served”.
The ‘Live Your Life’ rapper told Rolling Stone magazine: “I think justice was served. I think it’s a testament to the relentlessness and resilience of my wife, daughter and nieces. We’re just happy we were able to come out on top and fight for creatives and our intellectual property that large corporations seem to think is just public domain and free for all to come and grab and use.”
Jurors awarded the couple $17.9 million in real damages and $53.6 million in punitive damages and Tiny, 49, admitted they weren’t expecting such a settlement.
She said: “I mean, wow. They did more than I thought they would.
“I would have been happy with whatever. They blessed us more than beyond.”
Following the three-week trial in California, jurors found 13 L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G. dolls had “infringed on the trade dress and misappropriated the name, image, and likeness” of T.I. and Tiny’s OMG Girlz band.
The couple had started OMG Girlz – which included Tiny’s daughter Zonnique ‘Star’ Pullins, Bahja ‘Beauty’ Rodriguez and Breaunna ‘Babydoll’ Womack – in 2009 and alleged seven of the L.O.L. Surprise! dolls had copied the group’s looks at “very specific public events or in publicised photos”.
MGA’s founder, Isaac Larian, had branded the pair “extortionists” and insisted OMG Girlz had played no role in the appearance of their dolls.

‘It’s good for fans’: Blur guitarist Graham Coxon is thrilled about the Oasis reunion

OHMYGOSSIP — Graham Coxon is pleased that Oasis are reuniting.
The Blur guitarist thinks it is “good for fans” that their old rivals Noel and Liam Gallagher have put their differences aside to follow the ‘Parklife’ band by playing gigs at Wembley Stadium.
Graham told The Sun newspaper: “It’s good for them and it’s good for fans. I’ve been saying, ‘Just do it’.”
The 55-year-old musician crossed paths with Noel this summer as his band The Waeve – in which he features with partner Rose Elinor Dougall – were on the same festival bill together but he insists that he had no influence on the Oasis reunion.
Asked if he had discussed the matter with Noel, Graham said: “God no, I wouldn’t have talked to him about that and it’s not really my business. I don’t know him well enough to say that.
“But hopefully it’s a genuine reunion because some bands break up and don’t get that chance again.”
Blur are on hiatus following the success of their chart-topping album ‘The Ballad of Darren’ last year and Coxon explained that the ‘Country House’ rockers – which also include frontman Damon Albarn, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree – require a “shared experience” to get back together once more.
He said: “Each time we get together, there needs to be a shared experience like making a record, otherwise there’s no point in doing it for us.
“That involves a hell of a lot more work and stress though!”
Graham added: “And we all feel the need to go out and do our own things.”
Blur played two successful shows at Wembley last year and the guitarist described the experience as “surreal”.
He said: “It was quite surreal just how well it all went and how relaxed it all felt.
“We had a lot more people working on Blur machinery than The Waeve’s, so I didn’t have to worry about an awful lot.
“I just had to show up, play guitar and not make too much of an idiot of myself – oh, and not hurt myself!”

Snoop Dogg’s new album Missionary will feature Sting and Jelly Roll

OHMYGOSSIP — Snoop Dogg will collaborate with Sting and Jelly Roll on his new album ‘Missionary’.
The 52-year-old rapper is set to release his latest record next month and has confirmed that the former Police frontman and the country star will be contributing to the material.
Snoop told the Bloomberg Screentime conference: “I got a feature from Jelly Roll and Sting. I’m so happy that me and Sting have a record that’s so good.”
The ‘Gin and Juice’ hitmaker explained that he has long been “infatuated” with Sting and wasn’t disappointed after getting the chance to spend some time with the ‘Englishman in New York’ artist.
Snoop recalled: “We hung out and we chilled. Like a child that’s infatuated with somebody as a singer, and you get a chance to meet them and they give you everything you expected.
“That’s what happens with me all the time: I meet people I’ve always wanted to meet and they’re everything I wanted them to be.”
The star has been teasing ‘Missionary’ for a couple of years and is delighted that Dr. Dre is producing the album after the pair worked together on Snoop’s debut record ‘Doggystyle’.
He said: “1993 was the last time he produced a whole Snoop Dogg album. So this a reunion, and it’s collaboration between two friends who genuinely love each other. We know we’re better together.”
Dre teased earlier this year that there would be an “amazing roster of artists” featured on the record and promised that the music would “show a different level of maturity” compared to their previous collaboration.
The ‘Let Me Ride’ rapper said: “We were kids at that time, you know what I mean? Snoop may have been 18 or 19 years old and I’m, I think, six years older than him.
“So we were kids at that time, and this one is gonna show a different level of maturity with his lyrics and with my music.”

Alice Cooper didn’t expect to be performing after he turned 30

OHMYGOSSIP — Alice Cooper thought he would be retired at 30.
The ‘School’s Out’ rocker is on the road again with Rob Zombie on their ‘Freaks on Parade’ tour and is astonished that his career has gone on for as long as it has.
Asked if he is surprised by his longevity, Alice told the Metro newspaper’s Sixty Seconds column: “You can ask Mick Jagger that too, and Keith Richards! We never thought we would even reach the age of 30. That was the age we all thought we would retire.
“I had no idea that 46 years later I would still be doing this and still having fun. It’s amazing my energy level has maintained. I can’t explain it except for the fact that I got sober 41 years ago.”
The 76-year-old musician is known for his horror-themed theatrics during his performances and credits the long-distance running he did during his college days for allowing him to maintain his fitness.
Alice said: “When I was a kid in college, I was a 3,000m runner and I think that has a lot to do with my longevity.
“I’ve always stayed slim, I never got overweight. I can still wear clothes that I wore in high school. I don’t really have to watch my diet, I just don’t eat very much.”
The ‘Godfather of Shock Rock’ explained that he has no intention of calling time on a career that has spanned more than 60 years any time soon.
Alice explained: “I’ve always said I’ll retire when I physically can’t do it anymore, or when the audience doesn’t show up. That right there tells you you’re done if nobody is showing up.
“We’ve sold out every show, pretty much. Why would you retire from something that you love doing? I genuinely still get off on it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Busted and McFly are to embark on a joint tour – with a twist.
The Noughties pop groups will hit the road next year, but their run of gigs will aim to discover which of the two are the better band.
James Bourne, who is in Busted with Charlie Simpson and Matt Willis, told The Sun newspaper: “The whole tour is to find out who’s a better band. Fans can decide.
“They can come and support their band and they might change their mind. It’s going to be a fight to the death.”
Matt added: “It has been a long time coming, this tour. Fans have wanted this.

Busted singer Charlie joked McFly would be like a “support” act to Busted on the joint tour, just as they were during the ‘Year 3000′ hitmakers’ 2004 gigs.
He quipped: “We said, ‘We don’t want to go out again, but we will if we have to take you on. You can support us one more time, yes. Just like you did in 2004.’ ”
But McFly’s Harry joked: “To be honest, these guys have obviously had their 20th anniversary and rinsed that and I think they’re a bit short on ideas, so they needed us and we felt charitable.”

Manchester is the number one city in the UK for launching chart-topping groups

OHMYGOSSIP — Manchester has been revealed as being the top destination in the UK for launching chart-topping groups.
The city in the north of England is the birthplace of some of the best music groups the UK has to offer such as Oasis, The Smiths, New Order and Take That.
Now, official findings by the record label association BPI to mark National Album Day have revealed that Manchester has produced the most chart-topping LPs per person.
Since the chart launched in 195, the analysis reveals that 35 studio albums by bands from the north-west city have reached number one on the UK’s Official Albums Chart, spending 90 weeks at the top spot in total. These include seven Oasis releases and albums by The Smiths and Take That.
Dr. Jo Twist OBE, CEO of BPI, and Kim Bayley, CEO of ERA, which jointly organise National Album Day, said: “The excitement surrounding the news of Oasis’s first tour in a decade and a half is a welcome reminder that, when it comes to world-conquering bands, the UK is in a class of its own.
“The Gallagher brothers’ reunion provides a perfect backdrop to this year’s National Album Day whose timely theme is Great British Groups. And it seems only fitting that new research we have carried out in the run-up to the event has revealed their home city of Manchester is the most successful destination in the UK for producing chart-topping groups.”
Oxford was found to be the UK’s second top location for groups with top spot studio albums largely because of Radiohead who have topped the Official Albums Chart with six releases along with Supergrass who has secured the number one once and Foals who reached it in 2019.
Liverpool bagged third place with The Beatles securing 11 studio albums at number one in the charts running from their 1963 debut.

The UK’s top cities and towns for chart-topping groups are:
1. Manchester
2. Oxford
3. Liverpool

Mariah Carey is re-releasing All I Want For Christmas is You to mark 30th anniversary

OHMYGOSSIP — Mariah Carey is to re-release ‘All I Want For Christmas is You’.
The 55-year-old singer first unveiled the Yule Tide hit back in October 1994 – the first single from her holiday album ‘Merry Christmas’ – and to celebrate the song turning 30 years old she is re-releasing it as well as a new version of the LP ‘Merry Christmas’.
The R’n’B legend shared the news on her Instagram account and recreated the cover album cover, which shows her dressed in a Santa-inspired jumpsuit, trimmed with fur.
Her post read: “While it is definitely not time to listen to Christmas music yet I wanted to share a glimpse of #MerryChristmas30 with you! An homage to the original album cover, here is the cover art for two of the four new “All I Want For Christmas Is You” physical singles… available for pre-order now!”
The ‘Merry Christmas’ LP was a huge hit when it was released in 1994 selling 15 million copies.
‘All I Want For Christmas is You’ was co-written by Mariah and producer Walter Afanasieff, with the pair coming up with the track while working on three original songs for the ‘Merry Christmas’ album.
The song, which reportedly only took 15 minutes to write and compose, generates an estimated $600,000 per year in royalties for Mariah.
Mariah is also setting off on a North American Christmas tour.
The singer will bring back her annual Christmas extravaganza for 20 dates across the US, starting with an opening night at the Yaamava Theatre in Highland, California, on November 6.
In November, she will continue the tour in Arizona, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee and Illinois, before moving on to Washington DC, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, North Carolina and New Jersey in December.
Mariah will finish the tour with two nights in New York: a concert at UBS Arena in Belmont Park on December 15, and a final show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on December 17.

‘Excitement mixed with nervousness mixed with sheer dread…’ Perrie Edwards reveals fears about going solo

OHMYGOSSIP — Perrie Edwards experienced “excitement mixed with nervousness mixed with sheer dread” when she went solo.
Little Mix went on hiatus in 2022 following Jesy Nelson’s departure in December 2020 and the remaining three members, Perri, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall, all decided to release their own music.
Perrie’s first three solo singles, ‘Forget About Us’, ‘Tears’ and ‘You Go Your Way’, have been well received but she was riddled with angst about stepping out on her own.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, she said: “The emotions were crazy. It’s excitement mixed with nervousness mixed with sheer dread.
“I’m the worst person at stepping out of my comfort zone. It’s something that I don’t ever choose to do.. I used to sit back quite a lot in the group with decision-making and things like that… I’ve had to step up.”
Perrie, 31, and her Little Mix bandmates were formed on Simon Cowell’s TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ in 2011.
And she has now shared her thoughts on the influence of TikTok on the music industry and she thinks the social media platform has been a damaging force.
The pop star is a regular poster on the platform and she has 1.5 million followers but has bemoaned how it has shortened people’s attention spans to the point that music bosses asked her to make her latest single ‘You Go Your Way’ only two minutes long to appeal to TikTok users.
Perrie told Euphoria magazine: “I think it’s absolutely effing up everyone’s attention spans.
“People don’t want to hold a conversation for longer than five seconds because they’d rather swipe to the next thing.
“It’s kind of killing the music industry. I’m gonna be honest.
“Someone asked me whether we should crunch ‘You Go Your Way’ down and make it shorter and I was, ‘No. It’s long because there’s so much music going on.’ Music is art. Why are we trying to do it quickly?”
Perrie has also reflected on how the promotion of music has changed since Little Mix were crowned the winners of ‘The X Factor’.
She said: “It’s a different time. When we first came out, we were in HMV every other week doing signings.
“People were buying our albums, buying our songs. Streaming wasn’t even a thing. When we release a song now, we sit there for the week twiddling our thumbs making TikToks.”

Blossoms are ready and waiting for Oasis support slot

OHMYGOSSIP — Blossoms want a support slot on the Oasis reunion tour.
The ‘Charlemagne’ band are extremely excited about Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher’s reunion as they have cited Oasis as one of the main influences on their own music.
No support acts have been confirmed for the sold-out UK and Ireland dates for the ‘Oasis Live ’25’ tour yet, but Blossoms are ready to “smash it” if they get the call.
When asked if the band could be offered a support slot by NME, frontman Tom Ogden said: “Nothing has been discussed, nothing has been asked; I don’t think they’ll sort it out until next year. It’s sold out. They don’t need to announce the supports.
“I’d like to think our name might be in the mix because why not? We’ve never shied away from saying how much they’ve influenced us. We went to watch them at Heaton Park when we were 16, and we kind of know them both. I’m not going to get my hopes up, though, because, at the end of the day, it’s up to them. If we get asked, the bags are packed, and we’d smash it.”
Blossoms have previously supported The Stone Roses, another legendary Manchester band that reformed, as well as playing their own mammoth headline concerts and Tom admits he’d have never have believed it if someone had told him when he was a teenager that his band would achieve these things.
He said: “Our mantra was instilled into us from Oasis. I grew up listening to them and seeing those songs being sung in the biggest stadiums. That’s what I wanted.
“Ten years on, to have done Wythenshawe, to have opened for The Stone Roses and to have your name brought up within the Oasis stuff, if you’d have told me that when I was 16, I’d have been like, ‘What?’. We saw them before we were even a band. I would have never believed you.”
Oasis frontman Liam, 52, has teased Richard Ashcroft, Blur and the Manic Street Preachers as being potential support acts.
Whilst online on X recently, the ‘Live Forever’ singer responded to fans’ questions about which artists could join him and brother Noel, 57, and he admitted that having former Verve frontman Richard at the stadium shows would be “would be BIBLICAL”.
Responding to one fan suggesting Blur singer Damon Albarn, 56, and his band should open for them, Liam said about Oasis’ former rivals: “I love blur and at some point we have to do n old dears tours. (sic)”
He then added: “Richard Ashcroft or Manic street preachers as support”, before adding shortly after “the manics it is”.

Yungblud wants Bludfest to travel the world as ‘two day event’

OHMYGOSSIP — Yungblud wants to take Bludfest around the world as a “two-day event”.
The 27-year-old rocker – whose inaugural one-day festival took over the Milton Keynes Bowl in August – has high hopes for the future, with acts like The Cure and Bring Me The Horizon at the top of his wish list.
He told Kerrang!: “My plan is to take it to Paris and Prague and Australia. I’d love for it to be a two-day event.
“I’d love to have Bring Me The Horizon and The Cure. I’d love to see incredible young artists like Lola Young rise up the ranks and headline it.”
The ‘Obey’ hitmaker – whose real name is Dom Harrison – wanted to run the event the right way, which meant keep ticket prices at a low £49.50, and making sure artists were paid fairly.
He explained: “When you just turn up and play a gig, you don’t realise what money goes where. If I own my own thing, I can see things literally spread out.
“I’ll make money in other places, but it was a very big point for me to only break-even on the music and pay the artists what they should be paid.
“I don’t want to ask someone, ‘This is a good cause, will you come and do it for a little bit less?’ I was like, ‘What’s your fee?’
“I wanted to show it can be done this way. I really don’t mind putting my head above the trench and getting shot at first.”
He felt like the first ever Bludfest was a triumph, and stayed true to the way he wants his artistry to help “a culture coming together”.
He added: “I’ve always seen YUNGBLUD as a world. It’s always been about a culture coming together.
“So how do we really put a flag in the ground and make the industry, the world, our friends, take us fucking seriously as a community? With this I think we did.”

Kate Hudson reveals why she breathed a ‘sigh of relief’ upon releasing her debut album

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Hudson was able to breathe a “sigh of relief” after releasing her debut album.
The 45-year-old actress had been on screen in Hollywood for decades before she switched gears in 2023 for the launch of her record ‘Glorious’ and explained that the new venture had put her where she was meant to be.
She told US TV show ‘Extra’: “After I put this album out, there was just this sigh of relief like, ‘Yeah, I’m right where I’m supposed to be. Creatively. “Creatively where I feel creatively for myself feels really peaceful!”
The ‘Almost Famous’ star – who has son Ryder, 20, with ex-husband Chris Robinson – is now engaged to musician Danny Fujikawa and the pair worked together on the project, despite her initial trepidations.
Kate – who has daughter Rani, six, with Danny – said:” You have moments when your like, ‘Is it healthy to work with your partner?’ But we figured it out and Danny is so talented. I almost feel like I’d be a fool to not work with him in this capacity. I feel so lucky, and we write really well together. That, we really do well together. We do a lot well together!”
The actress previously revealed how she had been wanting to release an album more than a decade ago, but even at that time had been warned that she was “too old” by those in the music industry.
She told ‘CBS Mornings’: ” “There was someone who said to me, and it kind of jarred me a little, it was in my early 30s and they basically said, ‘It’s done. Past. You’re too old.’
“And for me it wasn’t just about being a performer, it was about wanting to write music.
“So it kind of resonated for a bit, and then I was like, ‘Nah, (forget) you. No – no-one tells me what to do!’”

Charli XCX defends Matty Healy over Malaysia gig kiss

OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX has defended The 1975’s Matty Healy after he kissed his bandmate Ross MacDonald at show in Malaysia.
The band’s frontman, 35, came under fire after he planted a passionate smooch onto bass player Ross at the Good Vibes music festival in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – a country where same-sex relationships are illegal – but Charli, 32, has now come to Matty’s defence and said his actions were “a little divisive, but I think great art is divisive”.
During an appearance on The Zane Lowe Show on Apple Music 1, the pop star said: “I can’t speak on his behalf at all, but all I’ll say from my perspective in terms of that show, is that I just really enjoy people who take a risk in terms of what they’re putting out there artistically.”
Matty worked with Charli on her album ‘Brat’ – which also features Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande and Robyn – and the singer said she “really wanted” to collaborate with The 1975 star.
She gushed: “He’s like my brother now, and I hope he wouldn’t mind me saying this, but I have an endless amount of respect for him as a songwriter and him as a person, but I sometimes want to strangle him.”
The ‘Club Classics’ hitmaker – who is engaged to the band’s drummer George Daniel – emphasised she has “always been such a fan” of The 1975.
She said: “Even before being with George, years and years ago, I’ve always been such a fan of their work.
“[Matty] is thinking of the way everything is digested in terms of their work, their artwork, their font, their videos, their everything – it’s very, very holistic.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Charli revealed she was worried Lorde would “never speak to her again” after she failed to warn her about the song ‘Girl, So Confusing’ which was rumoured to be about the ‘Royals’ star.
Charli admitted: “I was ready for her to never speak to me again. That could have been an outcome.”
However, the pair went on to release a remixed version of the track featuring Lorde weeks after the song debuted.

Liam Payne’s second solo album ‘postponed’

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne’s second solo album is reportedly “completely on pause”.
The 31-year-old singer was due to release the record – which would have followed on from his 2019 debut album ‘LPI’ – in the near future but those plans are believed to have been put on hold after his first single from the upcoming LP ‘Teardrops’ failed to chart in March.
It comes after the former One Direction reportedly parted ways with his manager earlier this year.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Things are tough for Liam at the moment. His former manager Roger stepped back earlier this year.
“He was a steady hand for Liam and he appears to be struggling without his guidance. Things have started to seem slightly erratic, with plans being made before they are cancelled last minute.
“Liam had been doing really well on his second album but now it’s completely on pause. Liam is telling people now he has no idea if it’ll ever be released.”
The report suggests a planned documentary about Liam’s rise to fame has also been shelved.
It comes after the singer revealed he poured his heart and soul into the songs on his new solo album.
Speaking as part of a fan event earlier this year, Liam was quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column as saying: “This time, the scariest part is that every one of these songs is a story from my life.
“And they’re really close to me. I hope people feel that through every song, that I actually felt whatever it is you’re feeling right now listening to this.”
He added: “We’ve rewritten a lot of these songs based off the idea of where we’re going with this and also how I’m feeling as a person.
“I used to show up to sing a song, then go. Absolutely not this time. We’re going to have fun with this.”
