OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Scott is donating $2 from every ticket sold to his ‘UTOPIA – Circus Maximus Tour’ to his Cactus Jack Foundation.
The hip-hop star will embark on the North American jaunt, which promises to be an “unparalleled audiovisual experience”, this October, and he’s giving back to Houston youth “through toy drives, scholarship programs to HBCU college students, and fulfilling expenses for education and creative endeavours.”
The run kicks off in Charlotte on October 11 and wraps in Toronto on December 29.
Travis will play his biggest headline show to date at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium on October 5.
The tour announcement comes after Travis’ gig at a historic venue in Rome produced tremors equivalent to a 1.3 magnitude earthquake.
Archeologists in the Italian city voiced concern about concerts being held at the Circus Maximus venue following the rapper’s one-off show there on August 7 to promote ‘Utopia’ after experts recorded worrying readings.
Giovanni Diaferia of the Italian Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology tweeted: “An #earthquake at the #TravisScott concert in in #Rome? 60k people, 70kg each, jumping and reaching 0.15 m from ground radiate and energy of E = 6.2 MJ which is equivalent to a magnitude 1.3 earthquake, at each jump!! Enough to be recorded by a seismic station 9 km away! (sic)”
Archeologists have long worried about gigs at Circus Maximus putting the ancient Roman chariot-racing stadium at risk and they renewed calls to end live entertainment there following the rapper’s recent show.
According to CNN, Alfonsina Russo, director of the head of the Colosseum Archeological Park, said: “The Circus Maximus is a monument. It is not a stadium, not a concert hall. These mega rock concerts put it at risk, including the Palatine Hill nearby. Rock concerts should be held in stadiums so as not to endanger public safety.”
Previous concerts held at the venue include gigs by the Rolling Stones, Guns N’ Roses and Bruce Springsteen.
Travis drew an audience of 70,000 to the venue after announcing the one-off show on August 1.
He had previously planned to play a concert at the pyramids of Giza in Egypt on July 28 but the event was cancelled due to “complex production issues”.
A statement from Live Nation explained: “We regret to inform you that the Utopia show, originally scheduled for July 28th at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt is cancelled.
“Unfortunately, despite highest efforts, complex production issues meant that the show could not be constructed in the desert.
“We understand that this news is disappointing and not the outcome any of us desired. Refunds will be issued to all ticket holders at their point of purchase. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this cancellation may have caused and appreciate your understanding.
“We remain committed to bringing exceptional live performances to fans and hope to have the opportunity to do so in the future.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Post Malone’s unfinished song using Bob Dylan’s unused lyrics likely won’t see the light of day.
Producer Michael Cash has claimed that after the music legend handed over the rights to his archived track ‘Be Not Deceived’, which Malone worked on for Cash’s project ‘The Attic MP3s’, the ‘Circles’ hitmaker didn’t get a chance to put the finishing touches to the tune, and in the end, Bob, via his representative Jeff Rosen, told them they would “retract” their rights to the lost song.
Cash told Rolling Stone: “We got the stenciling done, he got some colours in, but he definitely wasn’t finished.
“It needed flair. It needed more layers. It wasn’t a complete piece of music, but it was definitely a song. It had a beginning, a middle, and an end. There was a bridge, there was a chorus. It just needed to be finished.”
He revealed how it “went from being something to be excited about to just turning into a circular, figure-eight pattern.”
Cash continued: “Rosen said to me at a certain point, ‘Well, we’re just going to retract the lyrics.’
“Bob and Mr. Rosen do things a specific way.
“They get things done in a New York minute, and then it started to become… Honestly, they just were like, ‘This should be finished.’”
He added: “It just seems like nobody really managed expectations, and it just seems like nobody communicated. A really cool piece of music got made, and then it just got weird. It got really weird.”
The project would have included the likes of Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole, too, and be like the 2014 Dylan tribute record ‘Lost on the River: The New Basement Tapes’, which saw Elvis Costello, Marcus Mumford, and Taylor Goldsmith record songs from the ‘Mr. Tambourine Man’s leftover lyrics.
Malone is a die-hared Dylan fan and “cried” when he heard the lyrics, which are “about a loss of innocence and what people are going through — disfranchised, kind of leaderless masses of children with no parent or guardian or shepherd or anything. It talked about going out and making your own way. And when you read it, honestly, it’s poetry. It’s beautiful.”
The 28-year-old star is a huge fan of the 82-year-old icon, whom he has a tattoo of – along with his other idols Kurt Cobain, John Lennon and Elvis Presley on his knuckles – and, in 2017, he revealed that the ‘Blowin’ In The Wind’ singer suggested he work harder at his lyrics.
He said: “I’m a big Bob Dylan fan. I have a nice Bob Dylan tattoo.
“He’s a genius and I heard that his grandson played my music for him and he liked the music be he said I need help with lyrics.”
Dylan also influenced Malone to pick up the guitar on his record ‘Beerbongs and Bentley’.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: “I played a lot more guitar on this album.
“I wanted to push boundaries and change the standard of what music is, and it’s a genre-less style of music instead of hip-hop.”
Malone was also inspired by Dylan’s bravery in picking up an electric guitar for the first time for Side Two of his fifth album ‘Bringing It All Back Home’, despite critics within the folk world, including musician Ewan MacColl, slamming him for performing with a rock band and moving away from political tracks in favour of hits like 1965’s ‘Like a Rolling Stone’.

The 30-year-old pop star released the emotionally reflective ballad last week, and after the ‘Rolling In The Deep’ hitmaker revealed she is obsessed with the song at her ‘Weekends with Adele’ Las Vegas concert, Miley revealed she thought a lot about the Grammy winner when she penned the song.
Adele told the crowd at The Coliseum at Caesars Palace: “I am obsessed with Miley Cyrus’ new song. Has anyone heard it yet?
“I’ve always been a big Miley Cyrus fan and I’ve got such a soft spot for Nostalgia and that song. It might make me tear right now; I absolutely love it. It’s amazing. She’s such a legend and I love her.”
The ‘Flowers’ hitmaker re-shared the residency clip and wrote on X: “@Adele, I thought of you often while writing this song – always hoped that you would love it. This means the world to me. I love you. Mission accomplished.”
Upon its release on Friday (25.08.23), Miley dedicated the track to her loyal following.

OHMYGOSSIP — Selena Gomez has denied her new song, ‘Single Soon’, is about The Weeknd.
The song is about plotting how to break up with an ex, however, the 31-year-old singer – who has also romanced Justin Bieber, 29, and 30-year-old Zayn Malik – insists it’s not about the ‘Double Fantasy’ singer, whom she dated for 10 months between 2016 and 2017.
The lyrics include: “Should I do it on the phone? Should I leave a little note in the pocket of his coat? Maybe I’ll just disappear. I don’t want to see a tear. And the weekend’s almost here.”
She goes on: “I know I’m a little high maintenance, but I’m worth a try.
“Might not give a reason why. We both had a lot of fun, time to find another one. Blame it all on feeling young.”
Commenting underneath Hollywood Life’s article about some of her fans believing it to be aimed at the 33-year-old ‘Idol’ star, she wrote: “Couldn’t be more false.”
‘Single Soon’ was produced by Benny Blanco and Cashmere Cat and dropped on (25.08.23).
Selena had teased the track on social media, writing: “Y’all have been asking for new music for a while.
“Since I’m not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer.”
It’s the first taste of her upcoming album, for which Selena said she ditched “sad-girl songs” to have some “fun” with her new music.
The chart-topping star – whose last studio album was 2020’s’ ‘Rare’ – revealed she is switching things up with the overall mood of her next project.
Asked if more new tunes are on the way following the release of the single from her Apple TV+ documentary of the same name, ‘My Mind and Me’, Selena told ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’: “That’s accurate. “Finally.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Paramore have been back in the studio working on some new material.
The ‘Misery Business’ rockers recently had to postpone four shows on their North American tour after singer Hayley Williams suffered a lung infection, but now she has confirmed they are making new music.
The band shared studio photos with their Instagram followers, and Hayley said on Discord: “We’ve been off the road for a couple weeks now… mainly in LA.
“Thankfully got some down time but we put some work in too. It felt good to get back into a studio. More of that once we get home to Nashville.”
The 34-year-old star revealed she and her bandmate Zac Taylor are keen to “get back to making things” for a number of reasons after releasing their sixth album ‘This Is Why’ earlier this year.
She added: “Zac Taylor and I just want to get back to making things. We’ve been craving that for a while now.
“Not only the creative process but the layer(s) of insulation that can come with the creative process.”
And while she is on the mend from her illness, Hayley admitted her “stomach is still f******” from her medication.
She said: “I can hardly believe I don’t cough all day and night anymore.
“My stomach is still f***** from 10 kinds of medication… I’m just happy to be resting more.
“Now that the bulk of our touring for the year is over, I’m hoping to dive head first into creating some better routines.”
Meanwhile, the group are set to hit the road across the UK and Europe in May 2024 as they support Taylor Swift on her ongoing Eras Tour.

OHMYGOSSIP — Eminem has sent US presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy a cease and desist letter demanding him to stop using his music at his campaign rallies.
The 38-year-old investor rapped to the hip-hop superstar’s 2002 hit ‘Lose Yourself’ at the Iowa State Fair Grounds earlier this month, and the rapper is not happy about it.
Eminem, 50, got music licenser Broadcast Music Inc (BMI) to issue the letter to Republican Ramaswamy on August 23, requesting he never perform or play his songs again to promote his bid to become president in 2024.
The document obtained by the Daily Mail read: “BMI will consider any performance of the Eminem Works by the Vivek 2024 campaign from this date forward to be a material breach of the Agreement for which BMI reserves all rights and remedies with respect thereto.”
A spokesperson for the political candidate reacted: “Vivek just got on the stage and cut loose. To the American people’s chagrin, we will have to leave the rapping to the real Slim Shady.”
It’s not uncommon for musicians to issue such warnings to those gunning to be in power at The White House.
Recently, Donald Trump received a legal letter from the Village People.
The 77-year-old former president was handed a cease and desist by Karen Willis, the wife of lead singer Victor Willis, after Trump hired impersonators to perform the band’s iconic songs at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
Karen wrote: “We have been inundated with social media posts about the imitation performance where many fans, and the general public as well, mistakenly believe to be that of the actual Village People.
“Therefore the performance has, and continues to cause public confusion as to why Village People would engage in such a performance. We did not.”
Karen explained that the group doesn’t wish to endorse Trump’s presidential campaign.
She said: “Though my husband has publicly tolerated your client’s use of his Village People music, we cannot allow such use by him to cause public confusion as to an endorsement.
“Therefore it is requested that he cease and desist any such further unauthorised use of the Village People image in association with the songs and his campaign (or in his personal capacity).”
However, Joe Tacopina – Trump’s attorney – already dismissed the letter.
He told TMZ: “I will only deal with the attorney of the Village People, if they have one, not the wife of one of the members. But they should be thankful that President Trump allowed them to get their name back in the press. I haven’t heard their name in decades. Glad to hear they are still around.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran has announced his new album inspired by the composer Edward Elgar’s most famous work, ‘Enigma Variations’.
The ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker will release ‘Autumn Variations’ on September 29, and similarly to Elgar, he has recorded songs about his friends’ lives, as well as his own highs and lows.
The Grammy winner has once again worked with pal Taylor Swift’s collaborator, Aaron Dessner of The National, who he heaped praise on for the way he “captured the feeling of autumn so wonderfully”.
They first worked together on Ed’s ‘Subtract’ LP, which was only released in May this year, which Ed revealed acted as therapy for him through the most difficult time of his life, which saw his wife Cherry Seaborn delay getting treatment for a tumour because she was pregnant with the couple’s daughter Jupiter, and on top of that, his close friends Jamal Edwards and Shane Warne died within weeks of each other.
The ‘Bad Habits’ hitmaker – who also has Lyra Antarctica with childhood sweetheart Cherry – admitted writing the record was therapeutic as his mental health had spiralled.
In a statement about ‘Autumn Variations’ , Ed explained: “Last autumn, I found that my friends and I were going through so many life changes. After the heat of the summer, everything either calmed, settled, fell apart, came to a head or imploded.
“When I went through a difficult time at the start of last year, writing songs helped me understand my feelings and come to terms with what was going on, and when I learned about my friend’s different situations, I wrote songs, some from their perspectives, some from mine, to capture how they and I viewed the world at that time. There were highs of falling in love and new friendships among lows of heartbreak, depression, loneliness and confusion.”
He continued: “My dad and brother told me about a composer called Elgar, who composed ‘Enigma Variations’, where each of the 14 compositions were about a different one of his friends. This is what inspired me to make this album. When I recorded Subtract with Aaron Dessner, we clicked immediately. We wrote and recorded non-stop and this album was born out of that partnership. I feel he has captured the feeling of autumn so wonderfully in his sonics and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.”
The album will be released via Ed’s own label, Gingerbread Man Records.

OHMYGOSSIP — ABBA star Agnetha Fältskog has inked a major record deal and is poised to release her first solo album in a decade.
The 73-year-old Swede rose to international stardom in the 1970s as a member of ABBA, who won the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ with ‘Waterloo’ in 1974.
However, she first achieved success in her native Sweden with her 1968 self-titled debut album, and she went on to release several Swedish and English language records.
Her last solo album was 2013’s ‘A’, which gave her a top 10 hit in the UK, peaking at number 6, and she has another one on the way after signing to BMG.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column of her comeback: “Agnetha loved being back in the studio with Abba and it inspired her to relaunch her solo career.
“She has been in regular contact for months with the team at BMG in London and they have helped develop her new sound.
“After a long time working on new music, there is finally a body of work which she loves, and which is ready for release.”
Much like ABBA, it’s unlikely that Agnetha will perform her new songs live.
Speaking in 2013 about the possibility of her getting back up on the stage, she said: “No, I can’t. That’s my weakest [thing], the live thing. And also the fact I’m older now, so I can’t do that. I don’t want to disappoint people.”
Agnetha and her bandmates – Björn Ulvaeus, 78, Benny Andersson, 76, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, 77 – haven’t performed together since 1982.
However, they returned with the album ‘Voyage’ in 2021 and avatar show ABBA Voyage in 2022, the latter of which sees virtual versions of the band members depicting the group as they appeared in 1977.

Miley recently told British Vogue about how she’s put her party lifestyle in the past while discussing how she turned down a track offered to her by an unnamed songwriter about clubbing.
She told the magazine: “It was like, you know, the standard f*****-up-in-the-club track.
“And I was like, ‘I’m two years sober. That’s not where I spend my time, you know?’
“You’re more likely to catch me and my friends literally walking through rose gardens or going to a museum. It’s not about being self-serious. I’ve just evolved.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Rodrigo received a letter of advice from Jack White.
The former White Stripes star, 48, told the 20-year-old Grammy winner that her “only job” is to write radio-worthy music.
In an interview with The New York Times, Olivia said: “He wrote me this letter the first time I met him that said, ‘Your only job is to write music that you would want to hear on the radio.
“I mean, writing songs that you would like to hear on the radio is in fact very hard.”
St. Vincent – whose real name is Anne Clark – also had this praise for the star in the profile: “I’ve never met anyone so young and so effortlessly self-possessed. [Rodrigo] knows who she is and what she wants — and doesn’t seem to be in any way afraid of voicing that. And just a really lovely girl too.
“I’ve never heard her say a bad word about anyone.”
Olivia recently revealed she “felt immense pressure” making her second album, ‘GUTS’, the follow-up to her record-breaking 2021 debut LP ‘SOUR’.
Speaking on Hits Radio Breakfast, to Fleur East and James Barr, she said: “Making this album definitely had its ups and downs. “And there were some days where I’m just like, wow, the pressure is just insurmountable. OHMYGOSSIP — The Bob Dylan Center has launched a new yearly Songwriter Fellowship.
A partnership between The Bob Dylan Center – which houses artefacts, including lyrics, created and owned by the music legend – and Universal Music Publishing Group, the inaugural programme will see two budding songwriters chosen by a panel, including the likes of rock legend John Mellencamp and rapper Nas, for mentorship in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
They will receive $40,000 to fund their own project and the chance to study at the facility’s Bob Dylan Archive to be inspired by the ‘Mr. Tambourine Man’ hitmaker’s creative process.
Most excitingly, they will be mentored by UMPG songwriters and executives, and get to record at Tulsa’s legendary The Church Studio, where the likes of Eric Clapton, Willie Nelson and Bonnie Rait have recorded.
The studio’s NEVE 8068 mixing console features on Dylan’s album cover for ‘Time Out of Mind’.
The fellowship will select two rising stars per year.
BDC Director Steven Jenkins commented: “The Bob Dylan Center Songwriter Fellowship is core to our mission of educating, motivating, and inspiring visitors to engage their own capacity as creators, and we cannot wait to hear the entries from undiscovered talent around the world.
“We are grateful to continue our partnership with UMPG — the world’s leading music publisher is already such a great supporter of the BDC — and we know that this panel of extraordinary songwriters will select deserving Fellows for our inaugural year.”
UMPG Chief Operating Officer Marc Cimino added: “This is an unprecedented opportunity to connect developing talent with the works of one of the greatest songwriters of all time. Beyond access to meaningful mentorship and special resources, the archives at the Bob Dylan Center are indescribable, and I can only imagine how much creative inspiration they will draw. With the support of the fantastic BDC team and panel of world-class artists, we look forward to developing a new group of songwriters in this unique environment.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher is “in no matter what” for an Oasis reunion.
Although the 56-year-old musician has been locked in a long-running feud with his Oasis bandmate and brother Liam Gallagher since the band imploded in 2009, Noel insisted they would both be part of the line-up if the band ever reformed.
NME reports that when asked by an audience member during a Q A at The Rose Theatre in Kingston recently about who should be included in an Oasis reunion line-up, Noel replied: “So me…Liam…Well, it’s a funny thing because we’re all at a certain age now. Hair was a thing in Oasis, so we’ll have to see what everybody’s hair is looking like. I’m in no matter what. This is not f****** going anywhere. I don’t know. Look. Me, Liam and a load of f****** fit birds.”
While both Blur and Pulp have recently played comeback shows, Noel has insisted the difference between Oasis and those two bands is that Oasis did split up.
Speaking to NME, he previously said: “Blur never split up, did they? Pulp never split up, they just went and did other things, which is the adult way of doing it. Sadly my f****** band were very far from adult about it. It was a bit more crash and burn.”
Noel recently said it’s up to his brother to make peace – even calling him a “coward” and insisting he’ll never make the call to reunite Oasis.
Speaking on talkSPORT radio, Noel explained: “Well, I put it out there. [Liam] won’t call … I mean, he should call me, because he’s like, he’s forever going on about it. You’d have thought by now, he’d have some kind of plan.
“He doesn’t have to speak to me. He won’t speak to me, he’s a coward. So he should get some of his people, his agent, to call my people and say: ‘Look, this is what we’re thinking.’ And then we’ll have a conversation about it. Until then, he’s being a little bit disingenuous.”
However, Liam later responded to Noel’s comments in a post on Twitter, ranting: “He’s full of s*** he HATES Oasis fans [but] doesn’t mind them buying his records.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Corey Taylor has recalled how he couldn’t sing in key amid his alcohol addiction that saw him ” f***ing 10 chicks a night” and doing “horrible s***”.
The Slipknot and Stone Sour rocker, 49, blames his lack of self-love and confidence on his battle with booze addiction and admitted his bad habits took a toll on both his mental health and his ability to do his job as frontman.
Speaking to the latest issue of Metal Hammer magazine, he said: “I was a full-blown alcoholic. I wanted to stay drunk so I could do horrible s*** because of my depression, because of my lack of self-confidence. I had become every cliché I hated because of it. You may have a family at home, but you may be running around f***ing 10 chicks a night because of that lack of self-love. When you drink that much booze, who you are becomes very washy. There’s something in you that’s empty. Something in you that feels like chewing tinfoil.
“Health-wise, it was really f***ng me up. The first three months of working on [2004 LP] ‘Vol.3’ were a washout for me, because my voice was so shot from the boozing and the lifestyle.
I couldn’t stay in key, I couldn’t hit any of the heavy s***, I’d get half a take and I’d spoil it. The other guys did not appreciate it: ‘Goddamn it, dude, you’re never f***ing here, you’re always wasted, it’s obvious you don’t give a f***.'”
Three-times-married Corey got sober after his first marriage to Scarlett Stone ended in 2007, however, he relapsed and finally got sober fully in 2010, though he admits he fights “every day” not to revert back to his old ways.
Asked when his wake-up call was, he recalled: “All the dramas in my life catching up with me. My friend Tom grabbed the back of my shirt and pulled me back. It was a heavy night.”
Corey added of when he got sober: “The first time was literally the next day. It lasted three years, until my marriage ended. Then I started drinking again for about three years until it was, like, ‘I don’t get anything from this anymore.’ That was 2010. Trust me, it’s a struggle every day ‘cos of how my brain works and how I am as a person.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sabrina Carpenter was in shock when she found out she would be supporting Taylor Swift on tour.
The 24-year-old singer is set to join Swift on her ‘Eras’ tour in Europe next year as a special guest and Sabrina “feels so lucky” that she gets to travel with and learn from one of her childhood inspirations.
She told Billboard: “Honestly, I didn’t really have a whole lot of thoughts. Your mind just kinda goes [blank].
“She is one of my main inspirations ever since I was a little girl and now just to be able to watch that show every night is gonna be so special and I feel so lucky that we get to go to all the places we get to go with her.
“I’ve been growing up with her advice in her songs because it’s very much like a how-to book on how to survive as a young woman, which is really special, but watching her in itself is how you learn. And I just admire her work ethic and her talent and she’s just so amazing.”
Back in June, Taylor announced her European tour dates, kicking off on 9 May 2024 in Paris, followed by gigs in Stockholm, Madrid, Lisbon and Lyon.
London, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Dublin, Amsterdam, Zurich, Milan, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Munich, Warsaw and Vienna are among the cities included.
She said on her Instagram alongside a list of gig dates and the news she they will include “special guest” Carpenter: “’EXCUSE ME HI I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY. I can’t wait to see so many of you on ‘The Eras Tour’ next year at these new international dates!

‘Eras’ marks Taylor’s first world tour since 2018, with the singer releasing 2019’s album ‘Lover’ as well as the ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’ in 2020 after planned gigs were delayed by Covid.
The tour has been acclaimed for its use of three stages made of digital display units, which allow Taylor to execute tricks such as appearing to dive into a swimming pool and emerge in an entirely new outfit.

OHMYGOSSIP — Andy Taylor says the reason he quit Duran Duran was “creative, not personal”.
The new wave group’s former guitarist has admitted it “bugged” him that the band brought in other people for the 2007 Timbaland-produced album ‘Red Carpet Massacre’, and as well as the creative difference, Andy wasn’t willing to put the band first all the time.
Speaking to Classic Pop magazine, Andy explained: “I couldn’t do the Timbaland album, because it just didn’t move me.
“I was saying to the others, ‘Why do we need this?’
There’s so much talent in that band, I never felt the need to bring other people in to write with Duran. It bugged me.
“It wasn’t about getting my own way.
But if the force is against you, it’s difficult.
When you’re older, band rules can become very difficult. The band rule was:
‘The band comes first and I thought, ‘No.’
“The general feeling was, ‘You should come with us over here’ and I just couldn’t. I don’t know what it is with me that means I just can’t do that. It felt like someone shutting an elevator door on me that I couldn’t get past. There has to be a balance, and I couldn’t feel it. I had the same feeling as I had when I left during ‘Notorious’: ‘I’m going to miss all this… again.’”
The 62-year-old musician was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer eight years ago and was too ill to attend the band’s Rock and Roll Hall Fame induction ceremony last year.
However, he has teamed up with his old bandmates – Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Roger Taylor and Nick Rhodes – on a new spooktacular album inspired by a pair of Halloween-themed shows in Las Vegas last year, where they donned ghoulish outfits and performed covers of ‘Spellbound’ by Siouxsie And The Banshees, ‘Ghost Town’ by The Specials and ‘Super Freak’ by Rick James.
Praising his bandmates, he gushed: “Simon is in great voice on the album.”
He continued: “It’s a fun record.
“I just loved playing with them again. We probably didn’t understand it when we were young, but we know what we’re about now. John’s bass playing is tight as f***: him and Roger are one proper rhythm section. Having the original rhythm section is a big thing for a band. Not to criticise anyone else, but when me, John and Roger play together, there’s nothing quite on a par with it. I’ve found that again on the new record. It was: ‘Yes, that’s my place!’ so quickly.”
Andy insists there is “no animosity” between them, insisting any bickering was “pointless” in the grand scheme of things.
He said: “We’ve been through some crazy s*** together.
I’ve thought a lot about what happened when we were youngsters. All of it comes back, including why I left.
“You re-evaluate it and realise that perpetuating arguments over petty things is pointless, because the only person you’re really falling out with is yourself.
“A band is an entity, it’s not about one person. Duran Duran is a living entity.
When you think about its journey, the bad bits are amplified too often. When the dust settled, there was no animosity there. It was creative, not personal. We’re Pink Floyd in reverse.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Brandon Flowers is “in a crisis” over his music identity.
The 42-year-old singer has fronted rock band The Killers for more than 20 years and while he is aware that their older songs like ‘Human’ are the reason they are still selling out arenas, admitted to being more “fulfilled” by writing tracks for their 2021 album ‘Pressure Machine’, which is based on his childhood.
He told The Sunday Times: “This is the crisis I’m in. The Killers are my identity and our songs fill the seats, but I’m more fulfilled making music like ‘Pressure Machine’. I found a side of myself writing it that was strong. This was the guy I’d been looking for! I’m as proud of ‘Hot Fuss’ as you can be for something you did when you were 20, but I’m not 20. So I’m thinking about the next phase of my life.”
The ‘Lonely Town’ hitmaker went on to add that he still feels a “great deal of inadequacy” and is unsure how to move past that as he explained the “conflict” of wanting to “evolve” from his early success even though there will always be those who associate him with the classic tracks of The Killers.
He added: “I still have a great deal of inadequacy and don’t know how to overcome it. I’m a different person now, it’ll be difficult to go back. It is a conflict. It is just, well, at what point do I make that change? Who in the band wants to do that too? No matter what, there will always be people who look at me and just think of ‘Somebody Told Me’. And I get that. But I’m interested in evolving.”
