Priya Ragu’s parents disapproved of her musical ambition

OHMYGOSSIP — Priya Ragu’s parents disapproved of her love of music.
The singer, whose full name is Priya Ragupathylingam, had grown up in a sheltered house where genres outside of her Sri Lankan heritage were forbidden and her dad banned her from seizing her first opportunity, when she was invited to perform with her brother, Japna Gold, at the age of 16.
Speaking to Red Bulletin magazine, she said: “That was the first moment that I felt confident about my skill, and I felt like I had to show it to somebody.
“At that time, Japhna had a rap crew, and I sang in front of them. They all liked it and said, ‘You should come perform with us this weekend.’ I couldn’t believe it. I went home and wrote it in my diary.
“On the day of the event, I got ready, put on an outfit, learned the song, and I was so nervous.
“I was ready to go out, and [my dad] was like, ‘Where are you going?’ I lied and said I was going to a friend’s birthday party, but he told me, ‘I saw your diary entry – it’s not happening. I went back to my room and I hated the world. It was awful.”
Although Priya “can laugh” about what happened at the time, she recalled just how “devastating” the order was at the time.
She added: ” I told myself, ‘From now on, I’m not going to share anything with my parents about my music until I reach a certain level.'”
Thankfully, Priya’s parents seem to have changed their opinions on their daughter’s music and her career has been “very healing” for the family.
She said: “Music has opened mine and my brother’s relationship with our parents … there are no boundaries any more. It’s a very healing process for all of us.”
Her parents even worked on Priya’s new album ‘Santhosam’, with her father being credited as a lyricist on some tracks, and her mother featuring in ‘Damnshetamil’, providing ta Tamil chant.
She said: “My dad has such a good ear!
“I would never have thought that he could understand my kind of music, but he really does. The kind of feedback that he gives me sometimes is very surprising. I’m like, ‘Whoa, yes! That’s really coming from you?'”

Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign are seeking a partner to distribute their upcoming album.
The pair have been shopping the record around and are reportedly considering five different offers.
A source told Billboard that Kanye “will make a decision soon” as the record is expected to be released in the next few weeks.
Too Lost, the music distribution and publishing company that launched in 2021 and represents Kanye’s rights on YouTube, is reportedly one of the companies interested in distributing the album.
Billboard reports that “some who’ve heard the music say is West’s best music in at least five years, since 2018’s ‘Ye'” but companies are nervous about being associated with the controversial rapper’s previous antisemitic comments.
Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign’s last collaboration was ‘Junya Pt 2’ on his 2021 album, ‘Donda’ but they have worked together numerous times since 2014.
. Before that, they worked together on Ty Dolla $ign’s “Ego Death” (2020) and on West’s “Everything We Need” (2019), “Real Friends” (2016) and “Only One” (2014).
Meanwhile, last month, Kanye and Dr. Dre’s star-studded record ‘Jesus Is King 2’ fell victim to a leak.
The jam-packed follow-up to Kanye’s 2019 gospel LP has features from Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Travis Scott and Pusha T, 2 Chainz, Anderson .Paak, A$AP Ferg and Marsha Ambrosius.
However, it’s largely made up of reworkings and remixes of the original songs, with Kanye – who legally changed his name to Ye – adding a few verses.
Announcing the project on Twitter – before it became X – the ‘Jesus Walks’ rapper wrote: “Jesus Is King is my first clean album.
“I used to spend all my time trying to make my beats be mixed as good as Dr. Dre. Who knew all I had to do was do an album for God and then Dr. Dre would start mixing my beats? Spend your time on God, and he’ll handle the rest.”
In October, it was reported that Def Jam had parted ways with the rapper and that his imprint G.O.O.D. Music was no longer associated with the label.
The ‘Good Morning’ rapper lost his deal with Adidas, was dropped by agents CAA, and had the likes of Balenciaga and Vogue magazine distance themselves from him due to a string of anti-Semitic comments he made last year, including praising the “good things” about Adolf Hitler and declaring he wanted to go “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.”

Kelly Clarkson eyes Mariah Carey collaboration

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Clarkson wants to write a song with Mariah Carey.
The ‘Since U Been Gone’ singer accidentally snubbed the 54-year-old star when the ‘Hero’ hitmaker made a 2018 appearance on ‘The Voice’ as an adviser, and, having regretted her “stupid” gaffe ever since, Kelly hopes she’ll get a second chance at a potential collaboration.
Speaking on ‘The Tonight Show’, Kelly said: “She knows I adore her because I’ve run into her several times, and she’s probably got me on some security list to keep me away.
“I did something stupid… She came on ‘The Voice’, and we were working together, and sometimes I say everything that’s in my brain, and I shouldn’t do that.”
The ‘Stronger’ hitmaker recalled how they complimented one another’s songwriting abilities but when Mariah suggested they pen something together, Kelly accidentally turned her down.
She laughed: “I walked away, and my friends were like, ‘Do you realise you just told Mariah Carey ‘No?’ ”
That’s not what I meant. I meant the best writing for me does not come out in that scenario. I’m usually alone. Any time you see my name on a song, I wrote it, usually, alone.”
Host Jimmy Fallon then asked his guest: “You would love to write a song with Mariah Carey?
And she confirmed: “I would love to … I love you, Mariah Carey.”
The 41-year-old talk show host revealed the very first song she ever performed in front of people was Mariah’s ‘Vision of Love’.
She reflected: “I would love to say I was brave and bold. I was just stupid. I just love the song.”
Kelly previously said she felt Mariah was often overlooked as a writer because of the strength of her vocal performances.
Speaking on ‘Las Culturistas’, she said: “I’m such a huge fan of being her street team in terms of her being one of the best writers ever. No one talks about it! They always talk about the songbird and I’m like, ‘Great, vocals for days, obviously.’ But, guys, name another artist that’s that successful that wrote it all.”

Megan Thee Stallion to finance next album herself

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan Thee Stallion will finance her new album herself.
The 28-year-old rapper released her previous LPs, 2020’s ‘Good News’ and 2022’s ‘Traumazine’ on 300 Entertainment and 1501 Certified, but she told fans she no longer has a record deal so will be bringing out her next record independently.
Speaking on Instagram Live, she said: “This part of my album is definitely very much funded by Megan Thee Stallion because y’know… we tryna get off… y’all know what’s the tea.
“But I have no label right now and we’re doing everything funded by Megan Thee Stallion’s pocket. The budget is coming from me, motherf****** Hot Girl Productions. It’s all coming straight from Megan Thee Stallion – Megan Thee Stallion[‘s] brain, wallet… we in my pockets, hotties, so let’s do our big one.
“We’re really doing our big one and I’m so excited. We’re doing something for the first time independently since it was just me and my mama. I’m so excited ’cause it’s literally just me this go round until we sign to a new label. But I don’t want to sign to a new label right now because I just want to do it myself.”
Megan – who previously took legal action against 1501 Certified Entertainment for allegedly trying to “interfere” with her control over her music and for allegedly trying to keep her locked into a contract – recently teased her next record will mark a new chapter.
She told Billboard: “It’s definitely coming very soon. I’m really excited about this chapter of my life because I feel like I’m finally closing all the old chapters, and now I’m starting with a blank slate. Very fresh, very new. I think Thee Hotties are gonna be so excited. I’m trying different things. I got a lot of things that I produced with Ju and with some new producers.”

Joss Stone’s five-minute songs

OHMYGOSSIP — Joss Stone and Dave Stewart take just five minutes to write a song together.
The musicians have been close friends for years and have worked together so many times, they know exactly how to get the best of one another and waste no time when it comes to penning new material.
Joss, 36, told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “It takes Dave and I about five minutes to write a song.
“For example, we wrote the title track for ‘Never Forget My Love’ in the middle of a dinner party, when Dave just picked up his guitar and I started singing with him.”
The ‘Super Duper Love’ hitmaker has most recently been working with Dave, 71, on the score for ‘The Time Traveller’s Wife’ and the Eurythmics legend knew immediately he wanted to work with Joss on the project because of the story’s subject matter.
He said: “Because the musical puts a strong, independent woman at the centre, I thought I should write it with a strong, independent woman.
“I know Joss would be really good. She does everything her way.”
Responding to Dave’s praise, Joss said: “That makes me feel very happy. Dave is the biggest champion of women and he’s always in my corner.”
The musical, which is an adaption of the Audrey Niffenegger’s internationally best-selling novel of the same name, follows sculptor Clare who falls in love with a man called Henry, though their story is put under stress after Henry unknowingly travels through time.
And Joss admitted she was in “floods of tears” when she heard the cast run through the script for the West End production for the first time.
She said: “I was in floods of tears when I heard the script read-through. It gets me because it’s such a human story, when you look beyond the illusion of the time travel.”

Sir Paul McCartney calls Yoko Ono an ‘interference in the workplace’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney says Yoko Ono’s presence during the Beatles recording sessions was an “interference in the workplace”.
The 81-year-old musician has spoken out about John Lennon’s partner and admitted bringing her to the studio effected the dynamic of the group, but the bandmembers decided against confronting their pal and instead “bottled it up” and got on with the job.
Speaking on new podcast series ‘McCartney: A Life In Lyrics’, Paul explained: “John and Yoko had got together and that was bound to have an effect on the dynamics of the group.
“Things like Yoko being literally in the middle of the recording session [were] something you had to deal with. The idea was that if John wanted this to happen, then it should happen. There’s no reason why not.”
He added: “Anything that disturbs us, is disturbing. We would allow this and not make a fuss. And yet at the same time, I don’t think any of us particularly liked it.
“It was an interference in the workplace. We had a way we worked. The four of us worked with George Martin. And that was basically it. And we’d always done it like that. So not being very confrontational, I think we just bottled it up and just got on with it.”
John and Yoko met in 1966 and they went on to marry in 1969. They remained together until his death in 1980.
In a previous interview with Rolling Stone magazine in 2016, Paul revealed Yoko’s presence at the studio was different because she didn’t stay in the control room – instead she was sitting among the bandmembers in the studio while they were working.
He explained: “We handled it, but not amazingly well, because we were so tight. We weren’t sexist, but girls didn’t come to the studio – they tended to leave us to it. When John got with Yoko, she wasn’t in the control room or to the side. It was in the middle of the four of us.”

FKA Twigs refuses to release new album after major demos leak

OHMYGOSSIP — FKA Twigs has abandoned her new album after 85 of her demos leaked online.
The ‘Killer’ singer has claimed she won’t release any new music for a while now after she fell victim to hacking.
She announced on her Instagram Story over the weekend: “i got hacked somebody leaked 85 of my demos.
“well done. no new music for a while now bye. (sic)”
She later posted a selfie with her dog and wrote: “I will find you.”
Twigs’ last big project was the 2022 mixtape ‘CAPRISONGS’.
The 35-year-old singer – whose real name is Tahliah Barnett – explained how she felt compelled to document her journey “falling in love with music and herself all over again.”
She posted on Instagram alongside the artwork at the time: “Hey i made you a mixtape, because when i feel you, i feel me and when i feel me, it feels good…
“‘CAPRISONGS’ is my journey back to myself through my amazing collaborators and friends.
“It’s my stubborn caprisun a** telling me to work thru my pain by delivering at work, don’t think just go studio and create my saggi moon being the enigmatic temptress craving the club, to dance and to be social and my pisce venus hot mess disastrous heart falling in love all over again but this time with music and with myself. (sic)”
The star-studded collection featured Jorja Smith, Pa Salieu, Daniel Caesar, Rema, Unknown T, DYSTOPIA, and Shygirl.
Meanwhile, the singer’s trial against ex-partner Shia LaBeouf was recently delayed until next year.
The ‘cellophane’ star accused the actor of sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress during the course of their brief relationship in 2019.
She admitted it was a “miracle she came out alive” from her romance with the ‘Transformers’ star, 37, as she detailed the harrowing abuse, she claimed she received.
Recounting what happened to her, she said: “It’s a miracle I came out alive … If you put a frog in a boiling pot of water, that frog is going to jump out straight away. Whereas if you put a frog in cool water and heat it up slowly, that frog is going to boil to death. That was my experience being with LaBeouf.”
The trial was originally set for November, but it was postponed until October 14, 2024, due to scheduling conflicts.

Christine and the Queens cancels rest of 2024 shows on doctor’s orders

OHMYGOSSIP — Christine and the Queens has cancelled all his remaining tour dates for 2024 on doctor’s orders.
The French singer, who also goes by the name Red or Chris, has been forced to cut his current jaunt in support of his latest LP ‘Paranoia, Angels, True Love’ short, due to an undisclosed medical issue.
A social media statement read: “Red (aka Christine and the Queens) was taken ill today and on advice of doctors forced to make the difficult decision to cancel all remaining tour dates for 2023.”
The North American leg would have been taking place now and was due to wrap on October 26. Red would then embark on the European leg, concluding in Paris’ L’Olympia on November 27.
However, full refunds have been offered for all affected dates.
Last year, Chris “injured himself on stage while dancing” in rehearsals for a tour.
A statement announcing the cancellation of a handful of concerts and the delay to his album ‘Redcar les adorables étoiles’ read: “The doctors have forbidden him to return to the stage for at least three weeks, the time to recover. We are therefore obliged to cancel the concert in Arles on 17 September and to postpone the concerts in Paris and London.”
The record was originally set for release on September 23 and arrived on November 11.
Meanwhile, the 35-year-old star worked with Madonna on his latest album and relished the experience of collaborating with the 65-year-old pop icon, who plays a mysterious character who appears throughout ‘Paranoia, Angels, True Love’.
Chris told the BBC: “What is the most emblematic female voice we have in the pop landscape? She has such an imprint on everybody’s subconscious.
“She did a very risky FaceTime when I explained the whole concept and I was like, ‘Do you want to be an actress in this weird musical? To be exactly also the great actress you are?’ Because she’s multifaceted. She’s not even enclosed in one person.
“And she said, ‘Yes!’ I think because she was enticed by the insanity of the whole thing. She was like, ‘You’re crazy. I’ll do it!’
“I sent her lines that I wrote because she’s embodying the character of Big Eye, a very ambivalent ‘being of light’. We don’t really know if it’s AI, a true angel, or maybe my mum?
“Or if it’s maybe me. She has this voice that encloses all of the others and she’s piercing through in the record to just give the wisdom we need.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher is set to play three nights at London’s The O2 arena as part of his 2024 ‘Definitely Maybe’ 30th anniversary tour.
Legendary Britpop group Oasis’ former frontman is set to mark the milestone of their seminal 1994 LP without his estranged brother and the group’s former guitarist and chief songwriter, Noel Gallagher, next year.
As he has at many of his solo shows, the 51-year-old rock’n’roll star will be joined by Oasis guitarist Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs, 58, for the arena run.
The tour kicks off in Sheffield on June 2 and includes dates in Cardiff, London, Manchester, Glasgow, and Dublin.
Liam is also set for three concerts in his home city of Manchester and has two gigs in Glasgow and Dublin.
The ‘Supersonic’ hitmaker said: “I’m bouncing around the house to announce the ‘Definitely Maybe’ Tour.

Tickets go on sale from 9am BST on Friday (20.10.23) via www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
Liam’s tour reveal comes after Noel, 55, last month declared even though an anniversary edition of ‘Definitely Maybe’ was on its way, there will not be an Oasis reunion in 2024.
Fans’ hopes have been building that the siblings would reform the group – who split in 2009 following a backstage bust-up between the rival brothers – but Noel squashed talk they will get back together to mark the anniversary of their first record.
But promising there would be a special release of the record coming out, which will feature a host of previously lost songs from the recording sessions, he told Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera: “In the Sony archives we’ve found tapes dating to those sessions.
“We thought they were lost, but they were mislabelled. They are wonderful versions of those songs, some acoustic versions.
“There won’t be a tour – we won’t come back to play them together.”
New tracks being added to the re-release will include acoustic versions of classics such as ‘Live Forever’, ‘Slide Away’ and ‘Supersonic’.

The Pocket Gods selling one copy of final album for over £1 million in streaming protest

OHMYGOSSIP — The Pocket Gods are selling one copy of their final album on vinyl priced at £1 million.
Since 2015, the rock band have been releasing albums of 30 second songs to bring to light the lack of fair royalties from Spotify, Apple Music and other music streaming platforms.
The group plan to use the money made from selling the LP, ‘Vegetal Digital’, to fund their own streaming platform NUBPLAY, which guarantees to pay artists and songwriters at least 1p per stream, which is 50 times the amount Spotify pays.
In a public statement, Pocket Gods frontman Mark Christopher Lee said: “We started releasing just albums of 30 second songs back in 2015 and being ‘inspired’ by an article by U.S. music professor Mike Errico who asked why artists weren’t just writing 30 second songs as this is when Spotify pays out a royalty in full and as artists don’t get paid much from streaming – why write longer songs!”
The band’s campaign of releasing 30 second songs allowed them to win countless Guinness World Records, with their last album having 1000 songs, each 30 seconds long and still holds the world record.
Mark added: “We’ve finished with the 30 second songs we did them in a rebellious punk spirit to force streaming companies like Spotify to pay artists and songwriters better.
“We’ve had success in terms of meetings with Spotify but in order for real change we need to make a stand and by setting up our own service we guarantee to pay artists at least 1p per stream. £1 million I guess is small change to the likes of Spotify but by making a stand we hope others will come on board and help create a fairer future for artists, songwriters musicians.”
Their musical campaign and £1 million album are featured in their new film ‘Inspired The 30 Second Song Story’, which was inspired by Peter Jackson’s Beatles film ‘Get Back’.
Mark said: “It’s mad what’s happened with the 30 second songs as since Spotify changed their rule (thanks to us) to allow 30 second songs on official playlists, K-Pop artists such as BTS, Jung Kook and V are using our 30 second songs on their playlists in order to boost their own streams… it’s a crazy situation (perfectly in the rules) that we never expected… hence we now have fans all over the world and particularly in South Korea!”
‘Vegetal Digital’ will be available at the band’s local record shop Empire Records in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England, for one lucky fan to purchase.

Snow Patrol’s concert interrupted by frontman Gary Lightbody’s burping

OHMYGOSSIP — Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody had to pause mid-song to recover from a bout of the burps.
The windy ‘Chasing Cars’ hitmaker couldn’t stop belching whilst trying to perform ‘Heal Me’ at a BBC Introducing Live concert at the Limelight in Belfast, which marked the group’s first gig in more than a year and since the departure of drummer Jonny Quinn and bassist Paul Wilson.
Apologising to the crowd, he said: “Sorry, I am full-on burping here. I’m going to need a minute, but we are going to do this song until I get it right.”
The group has vowed to carry on as a trio, with Gary joined by Nathan Connolly and Johnny McDaid.
Paul – who has started a metal project under the name Above As Below – recently touched on the gossip that surrounded the double departure after Jonny’s wife, Mariane, claimed there was a major fallout.
And he suspects it was nothing more than “creative differences” but was peeved that it took precedence over him launching his new venture.
He told Rolling Stone: “After being in this band for 20 years, and then all of a sudden there’s this salacious gossip. It’s like, ugh. This has completely ruined my moment of leaving and doing my own thing.
He added: “I don’t really know what went down, but I’m guessing there were creative differences in the studio; I can’t imagine it was anything too crazy.
“I don’t have any ill feelings towards the guys.”

Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes credited on Jungkook’s debut solo album

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes have contributed to Jungkook’s debut solo album.
The BTS star has unveiled the tracklisting for ‘Golden’ and the ‘Bad Habits’ hitmaker is listed as a songwriter on the tune ‘Yes or No’, while Canadian heartthrob Shawn worked on ‘Hate You’.
As for the features, DJ Snake is on ‘Please Don’t Change’ and Major Lazer appear on ‘Closer to You’.
Fans have already heard the debut single ‘Seven’ featuring Latto (the clean and explicit version) and ‘3D’ featuring Jack Harlow.
The other tracks include ‘Somebody’, ‘Shot Glass of Tears’ and ‘Too Sad to Dance’.
The 26-year-old star had a huge hand in producing the record.
Big Hit Music said: “As the new album ‘Golden’ is based on Jungkook’s ‘golden moment’, Jungkook put his heart and soul into the production, including personally selecting all the songs to be included in the new album.”
Meanwhile, Jungkook has announced the ‘Golden Live On Stage’ event on November 20 at Jangchung Arena in Seoul in support of the album with fans able to tune in globally via livestream.
Although Jungkook has performed solo before – such as at the Global Citizen Festival in New York – ‘Golden Live On Stage’ will mark his first full-length solo show.
The South Korean star recently spoke about being grateful for his haters as much as his fans, insisting the time and energy they put into trolling him means that they are paying attention to his art.
Taking part in a listening party for ‘3D’ recently, he said: “There are plenty of people who don’t like me.
“It means they’re spending their time on me. I’d consider that some sort of interest. Right? They’re different kinds of fans.
“If they had absolutely no interest in me, they wouldn’t. So, I thank them for their time.
“I don’t like them, though. I don’t have to like them, do I? Of course, I love the ones who love me. I wouldn’t love people who say bad things about me. I work for those who support me.”

‘He’d have thought it was too soppy…’ Paul McCartney reveals how John Lennon influences his songs from beyond the grave

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney says John Lennon still influences his songwriting and he drops lyrics that his late friend would consider “too soppy”.
The 81-year-old musician and John would refer to each other for advice when creating songs, especially in the early days of The Beatles – which also included Ringo Starr and George Harrison – when they would write together.
Paul admits there are times when he hears his old collaborator’s voice in his head when he is writing sentimental lyrics that John wouldn’t approve of, so he re-writes the words.
Speaking on the ‘A Life In Lyrics’ podcast, he said: “Often I’ll sort of refer… ‘What would John think of this? He’d have thought it was too soppy.’ So I’ll change it.
“That interplay was miraculous. You don’t have this opposing element so much [now]. I have to do that myself.”
Paul also opened up on what sort of person John was before his tragic murder in December 1980 at the age of 40.
The ‘Get Back’ singer remembers Lennon as a witty and “sarcastic” man who used his jokes and putdowns to shield himself against the world.
He said: “John’s persona was very guarded, hopelessly guarded. That’s where all his wit came from. Like so many comedians, it’s to shield themselves against the world.
“John having a very difficult upbringing – his father leaves home, his uncle dies and his mother gets killed – he could be very sarcastic. We all could, it was my way of dealing with my mother’s death. There would often be a very witty put-down. It wouldn’t always be a put-down but it was always a very quick answer, and he’d trained himself to do that.
“That was one of the attractive things about him. I remember him saying to me, ‘Paul, I worry about how people are going to remember me when I die’. It shocked me and I said, ‘Hold it right there. People are going to think you were great’. I was like his priest. I’d say, ‘My son, you’re great.’ It’d make him feel better.”

Rod Stewart snubs big money Saudi Arabia concert offer over human rights abuses

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Rod Stewart has snubbed a mega money offer to perform in Saudi Arabia because of the country’s human rights issues.
The 78-year-old rock legend was offered a significant sum to bring his show to the Middle East but declined due to the oppression of “women, the LGBTQ community [and] the press” in the kingdom.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’m grateful that I have a choice whether or not to perform in Saudi Arabia. So many citizens there have extremely limited choices… women, the LGBTQ community, the press.
“I’d like my choice not to go… to shine a light on the injustices there and ignite positive change.”
Rod had previously turned down £1 million to bring his live show to Qatar – which hosted the 2022 FIFA World Cup – and although the Saudi offer was “much higher” he was never interested in trading his principles for cash.
A source told the publication: “Rod was determined to do the right thing and couldn’t accept the offer, no matter how much money was on the table. Some things are more important.”
In Saudi Arabia engaging in same-sex relationships is illegal and can be punishable with the death penalty.
The ‘Maggie May’ singer had previously spoke about how he wanted to use his 2016 Knighthood from late British monarch Queen Elizabeth II to do good in the world and highlight charities he supports.
He said: “I usually keep all my charitable efforts nice and quiet and just do it. But I thought, ‘I am a knight, I have been given this knighthood because of the things I’ve achieved in my life and the charity work I’ve done over the years.’
“But that was the past. I want to be seen to be doing something now. I am a knight, I should be using my power to do something for people. I am sure that if there are people out there who see what I am doing, they will pick up some slack too.”
In 2022, Rod – who is married to Lady Penny Lancaster Stewart – rented a house in Berkshire for a family of seven Ukrainians who had fled the war with Russia and paid all their household bills.
He also gave two other refugees jobs at his Essex mansion, working as a gardener and a housekeeper.
