Charli XCX prefers to wear ‘baggy clothes’ for dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX prefers to wear “baggy clothes” for dancing.
The 30-year-old pop star explained that looser outfits allow her to “hide her arms” when she dances in the club or on stage and believes that they can really “emphasize” how she moves.
She said: “I like baggy clothes when I dance: something to hide my arms, as well as make them bigger so that the shapes I throw become more extreme and exaggerated. I think clothes can really emphasize how you move, and make even the smallest movements look massive. For me, dance floors are essential to my life. They provide me with a space to physically move, to literally shake out emotions and feelings, or physically connect with them. Dance floors are cathartic and therapeutic. I’ve made some of my deepest emotional connections on a dance floor. I’ve cried, I’ve laughed, I’ve fallen in love. Dance floors have been defining settings in my life, and I probably wouldn’t be the same person without them.”
The ‘Break the Rules’ hitmaker – whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison – went on to describe her dance moves as “spontaneous” and explained that she “commits to a style” before reflecting on early inspirations such as 1990s girl group the Spice Girls.
She told iD Magazine: “My dancing is quite aggressive! It’s very jerky and spontaneous.I don’t always look good, but I definitely confidently commit to a style, which I like. I honestly just like to feel the music, and react instinctually. Perhaps something to do with your parents, your friends, or the movies.I used to dance to the Spice Girls all the time as a kid and sing into my hairbrush. My family still has lots of home videos of that. It’s very sweet.

Bella Hadid named GQ’s most stylish person on the planet

OHMYGOSSIP — Bella Hadid has been named GQ magazine’s most stylish person on the planet.
The 26-year-old model – who is the daughter of Yolanda and Mohamed Hadid – has been hailed by the publication as the “best-dressed person” on Earth.
The magazine explained: “Menswear. Womenswear. Streetwear. Workwear. Smartwear. Wavywear. Few can wear it all (and pull it off). But few are Bella Hadid, the princess that was promised, she of abundant angles, the chosen one who really can wear anything – and our best-dressed person on the planet.
“As soon as the ‘Real Housewives’ progeny hit supermodel rank, the dam was broken on a flood of fits that stand toe-to-toe – and often above – the stuff she’s actually paid to wear.”
GQ was particularly enthusiastic about Bella’s menswear style.
The magazine said: “Our favourite version, and the one that secured Hadid the top spot: Menswear Bella. Tailoring. Prada loafers. Big denim jackets. LSD fur trappers. There was even a tie at one point. It’s wavy, classic, and uncomplicated all at once. Hadid does menswear better than most men – and she can still wear everything and anything else.”
Meanwhile, Bella previously admitted that she hasn’t had a stylist for two years.
The brunette beauty – who is the younger sister of model Gigi Hadid – also revealed that she’s learned to deal with the scrutiny that comes her way.
She said: “In the last year, it was really important for me to learn that even if people talk about my style or if they like it or if they don’t, it doesn’t matter, because it’s my style.
“When I leave the house in the morning, what I think about is: Does this make me happy? Do I feel good in this and do I feel comfortable?”

Lewis Capaldi models for ASOS

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi has teamed up with ASOS.
The 26-year-old singer visited the headquarters of the fast fashion retailer where he modelled items such as a dark green cord western jacket and joked that he has “always taken risks” with his style choices as he posed in front of the camera with professionals for a photoshoot.
He said: “So I came into the office today here at ASOS. I was taken into the fashion cupboard. It’s like sexy chain mail. Like, you’re going to war but you want to look good. I’m someone who takes risks with their fashion choices, as has been well documented. And of course, came through, I met the models, and I kind of just had to take the models through my process. I want the clothes to jump off of the body and onto the page. I think my sort of inspiration comes from deep within my loins.
The ‘Before You Go’ hitmaker – who also models pieces such as a twill overshirt in black with snap buttons and a 90s oversized cord shirt in vintage washed green for the brand – further joked that he had not “learned” anything from the experience and that modelling has been his calling “for a while.”
Speaking in a video posted to ASOS’ YouTube, he added: “I wouldn’t say I’d learned anything, this is the path I’ve been on for a while some of us have got it and some of us haven’t!”

The 43-year-old actress – who is also the founder of wellness brand InBloom – explained that she has started to “enjoy” having a skincare regime as she gets older but doesn’t stick to it every single day and doesn’t take her makeup off every night.
She said: “I’ve always had some kind of routine, and I enjoy it more now that I’m older. [Though] I’m not religious about it which I know a lot of people would be like ‘You have to take your makeup off every night’ and I’m not gonna lie, I have nights where I do not do that.”
The ‘Almost Famous’ star went on to explain that she loves a variety of products but named “sleep, hydration and supplements” as the key components to her skincare regime.
Speaking in a video for Vogue, she added: “I think because I love products so much, that keeps me playing with my skincare routine and I change it all the time. So, like, what I’m using today is not what I’ll be using next week. I do like to do eye masks though before I put on before I put on makeup.
“Everyone always asks me like ‘Skincare, skincare, what do you do?’ Three things. Sleep, hydration, supplements. I created a supplement with InBloom called Beauty Aura and I take this every day. For me, for skin, fine line, hair and nails, this is my dream product.
Meditation is probably the most important self-care that I do. I know it sounds silly but when you have your eye mask is a really good time to do it. I can thank my mom for that because she’s been doing that since the ’70s!”

During this long period Gucci has been my home, my adopted family. To this extended family, to all the individuals, who have looked after and supported it, I send my most sincere thanks, my biggest and most heartfelt embrace. Christina Ricci: I dress like a little boy

OHMYGOSSIP — Christina Ricci likes to “dress like a little boy.”
The 42-year-old actress joked that some days she doesn’t want to “look like a woman” but still sees fashion as a form of art.
She said: “I mean, I dress like a little boy. People are like, ‘Don’t you want to look like a woman?’ And I am like, ‘Not today!’It is an art form for me, I love seeing the collections.”
The ‘Yellowjackets’ star – who was married to James Heerdegen from 2013 until 2020 and has eight-year-old son Freddie with him – went on to explain that in the early days of her career she “burnt” a lot of money on expensive clothing and accessories but these days prefers to be a “little more intelligent” with her spending after having to sell her handbags due to suffering several “financial traumas” amid her divorce battle.
She told The Times: “I burnt a lot of money on bags and shoes and jewellery when I was younger. You know, coming from no money and suddenly having money . . . So that was a mistake. I’ve learnt to be a little bit more intelligent about my investments. I don’t buy a ton of fashion. There are certain things that I have collected, certain bags. I had quite a Chanel-handbag collection for a while, but I sold a lot of things. Well, certain traumas in life go along with financial traumas, extended court situations, custody situations, fighting restraining orders. Having said that, I’m absolutely doing fine, there’s no issue. But I learnt to use these investment pieces in different ways. I also had a Chanel Fine Jewellery collection that I put to good use.”

Love Island’s Faye Winter ‘doesn’t like’ fast fashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Faye Winter “doesn’t like” fast fashion.
The 27-year-old reality star shot to fame in 2021 when she reached the final of the hit ITV2 reality dating show ‘Love Island’ and even though several fellow contestants from the series such as Molly-Mae Hague and Gemma Owen have signed lucrative deals with high-profile clothing brands, she doesn’t agree with the ethics.
She said: “It’s each to their own but I don’t like fast fashion because I don’t agree with it but then there are people that all they wear is PrettyLittleThing and Oh Polly, so it makes sense for them and they love that brand. You need to applaud them as much as people applaud us. It would just be nice to be able to see people cheering harder for those that are doing things that maybe aren’t seen as such great achievements.”
Instead, the former lettings manager – who split from ‘Love Island’ co-star Teddy Soares shortly after their time together on the show – has become a charity ambassador for Guide Dogs and claimed that no one saw the move as “an achievement” because she didn’t sign a six-figure sum or take any payment for it at all.
She told The Mirror: “It’s hard because I don’t feel like there’s enough light shed on people that do amazing things like peaking in Parliament and being able to bring an animal cruelty side of things and my animal care. I’m a guide dog campaign star that was the first thing I did when I came off Love Island and you know nobody wanted to see that as a great achievement because they couldn’t plaster it everywhere that it was a six-figure sum, there’s no money in it, I don’t get paid for it.”

Thank you all, for believing in our vision and for believing in me.
Forward always,

You feel London, and the country is a hurt animal, but it’s an animals that’s ready to go out. There’s something positive within the negative. I saw it again, this week, going to galleries. Somehow people mix up here, and start conversations. Coming to the city, the streets, and the community is always inspiring. So, I thought Let’s just invite everybody instead. I didn’t want a show for 300 people sitting in rows. This is a show that’s pure democracy. No hierarchy. A London explosion of youth, life, dancing, and being together.”

The 33-year-old dancer was born in Brazil but now performs with the Dance Theatre of Harlem in New York City and explained that she used to use liquid foundation to alter the tone of her ballet shoes to match her dark skin tone but soon found it frustrating that she couldn’t buy her own.
She said: “[Painting my shoes] was therapeutic at first. I was like, ‘Oh, this is so exciting’. And then I was over it. Why didn’t [brands] just create pointe shoes that are my skin colour?”
Ingrid went on to add that when she made her professional debut as a ballet dance at the age of 18 in 2006, the world “wasn’t ready” for a black ballet dancer and claimed that performs of colour still don’t get much “opportunity” to succeed in the business and wondered what would happen to her career after she gave to a daughter in 2020.
She told Allure: “I believe that they weren’t ready for me. Black dancers don’t get a lot of opportunity to succeed because [people] don’t believe we exist in this art form. I think that’s really important because every young kid who comes to watch us, they see themselves. And that’s the change right there. It’s what made me who I am.
But I work with my body, and I did not know what was going to happen. So I was extremely worried about [my career]. ‘Am I going to be able to come back to dance’? [after having my baby?]”

Alia Bhatt is in the ‘best place’ with her body

OHMYGOSSIP — Alia Bhatt is in the “best place” she has ever been with her body.
The 29-year-old actress – who gave birth to her first child with husband Ranbir Kapoor earlier this month – explained that because she started out in the industry as a teenager, she developed an “obsession” with her looks that took “a lot of work” to get over.
She said: “I entered the industry at the age of 17. And you hear conversations around you pertaining to the way you should look. You think that’s the way it’s supposed to be. And it took a bit of a toll on me in terms of my obsession with my body and my weight. It’s taken me a lot of work, but I’m in the best place that I’ve ever been with regards to that.”
The ‘Darlings’ star went on to urge her young fans to have “confidence” in their looks and reminded them that life is not about “superficial” looks, especially in a world of social media.
She told Marie Claire: “Be healthy internally, not obsessive about the way you look superficially. It’s not about every little splodge of skin on your body. You can’t be squishing it and thinking, This is an issue. That is an issue. And of course, I have my days, I’ve had my days. But I’m saying, if you pick on yourself first, then you’re inviting every other [person’s] negative thoughts towards your body. If you yourself are armed with confidence and a certain level of appreciation for the way you look and the way you are, then nothing in the world will bother you…especially in the world of Instagram and TikTok and all these filters. Feel good from the inside. Stay active, eat good foods. Eat crap as well, if you want. Because if that’s something that you want to do on a particular day, please go ahead and do it. You have one life, so just enjoy it as much as possible. ”
