Gigi Hadid says her Guest In Residence clothing line has a ‘sense of simplicity’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gigi Hadid says her Guest In Residence clothing line has a “sense of simplicity”.
The Givenchy catwalk queen loves that her range of cashmere knitwear has appeal to anyone who wants to “express themselves”.
The 27-year-old model told Elle.com: “They all have a sense of simplicity to them that I want always to be able to mix with the lifestyles and styles and personalities of different people of different ages. I think that what all of those people would have in common is a desire to express themselves. I think and hope that different people can find themselves in different pieces.”
Gigi called working on the garments “stabilizing” after the shake up of COVID and having her two-year-old daughter Khai with her former One Direction star ex Zayn Malik, 30.
She said: “I got pregnant and I really started to think about what I wanted after, when the world opened back up. It kept coming back to just a more stabilized schedule where I’m not in a different country every week. This is very stabilizing. I have an office that I come to. I know everyone here. I don’t have to look a certain way to show up. It’s a different experience for me, and it was the right time because I was ready for that.”
The ‘Next in Fashion’ host “respected” how Netflix really made her work for gig.
Gigi said: “But Netflix was not easy on me. They really put me through an audition process. I respected that, and it made me feel good when I got the job. I felt like I had earned it in their eyes, and so that gave me the confidence to go for it. You get a sense of impostor syndrome and you’re like, ‘Okay, are they just giving me this show because I have a lot of followers?’ The fact that they really questioned my intentions for being on the show helped me jump into it headfirst. If they think that I can do it, then that gives me more confidence than maybe I would’ve had otherwise.”

Ella Emhoff prefers to knit with with wool over mohair.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ella Emhoff prefers to create wool garments over mohair.
The Proenza Schouler catwalk queen – and stepdaughter of the US Vice President Kamala Harris – loves “the mohair trend” but when it comes creating her own knitwear for her online brand Ella Emhoff Loves To Knit but has preference for other yarn types.
The 23-year-old model told Interview magazine: “Wool. Mohair: hot, itchy, shedding. I respect the mohair trend, but knitting with it is really hard and wearing it is really hot. I do have some angora yarn featured in the collection though. I get everything donated to me mostly. Every designer I meet, I’m like, “Do you have extra yarn?” But I also have to buy a lot. Let’s just say I bought 85 pounds of yarn for this collection.”
Ella – whose father Doug Emhoff married the second most powerful person in US politics in 2014 and has brother Cole, 28- says the most silly thing she’s stitched a handmade “wrestling suit” that she doesn’t think is “flattering”.
She said: “I’ve been waiting for someone to ask me this! I made it a long time ago, when I was in school. It is a wrestling suit. It’s green and white striped, and it’s got a racerback. Never once have I worn it. It’s too hot! But somehow also freezing. And it’s just not flattering. No one should wear it. But it came into my head one night, and I just wanted to challenge myself and my pattern-making skills. It’s still in my samples box. One day I’ll pick it up.”

Sam Smith’s look at the Brit Awards took ;four days’ to make

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Smith’s look at the Brit Awards took ‘four days” to make, says its creator.
The ‘Unholy’ hitmaker, 30, – who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns – donned a campy latex number with inflated arms and legs to attend the ceremony on Saturday night (11.02.23) at the O2 Arena and it took a lot of work to bring the viral look to life.
Harri, the fashion designer who created Sam’s look, revealed the extent of the craft needed to take it from page to reality while appearing on ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Monday (13.02.23).
Detailing how they got it into the car to the venue, he said: “They walked in it [inflated] all the way to the red carpet… I think they did a fantastic job.”
After being asked if Sam relied on “talcum powder” to get into the garment, Harri explained it was custom made for the ‘Latch’ crooner.
“They put it on like a tailored suit, it’s made for them.”
Recently, Harri – whose real name is Harikrishnan Keezhathil Surendran Pillai – explained he was interested in collaborating with Sam after they received a barrage of “hate comments” including body shaming and homophobic abuse amid the release of his new music video and allegations it was “Satanic”.
He said: “Sam was having a lot of hate comments recently after ‘Unholy’ about their body image.
“This is my take on celebrating [their] natural form and the beauty of being one’s self. I wanted to create an image which people have never seen Sam in.”

Kelly Cutrone loves her ‘signature look’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Cutrone loves her “signature look” when working at Paris Fashion Week.
The ex ‘The Hills’ star advises it keeping it practical and chic sartorial-wise at the bi-annual festival of style in the City of Lights, which she grew a reputation for on the 00s MTV reality television series starring Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port, Audrina Patridge and Heidi Montag,
The 57-year-old public relations maverick told Interview magazine: “Yay. First of all, let’s find somebody who speaks fluent French to write your requests. That would be so chic. Also, do not bring any stiletto shoes because almost all the streets are cobblestone and the fashion parties run late.My signature look of black leggings, oversized clothing and flats is great because you can go anywhere and then you don’t have to worry about your heels getting stuck in those stones. And make sure you have a driver.”
Kelly still believes in the power of fashion editors and believe influencers – who have taken a lot of their industry sway away – are “an end game”.
She said: “The editors, because at least they’re interested in the topic that they’re writing about. A lot of the influencers are doing things in a super fly-by-night way, and there’s more to the fashion business than how many followers you have on Instagram. Louis Vuitton doesn’t wake up saying, “I wonder what those kids are doing.” The business starts with great design and storytelling, and really good distribution and production. But 70% of business in the United States is still being done in brick-and-mortar stores. So if you’re selling Crocs, get a hundred influencers and have them talk about why orange is the hot new color. That makes total sense. But influencers, for me, are an end game.”

FAME is a great scent for going out at night though. The bottle is metallic and slick, and that’s what you want to embody on a night out and ready to take on the world with confidence. But at the same time, I’ll wear it in sweatpants. It’s a fragrance refreshing enough for daytime or nighttime.”
Elle spilled about the “ultimate glamour” of getting ready for a Hollywood event and the importance of having “fun” style-wise at star-studded events like the Cannes Film Festival.
She said: “When I get ready for a red carpet. It’s the ultimate glamour. It can be stressful, but I find it exciting. I’ve always loved putting together a look that expresses myself, and it’s an extension of my creativity. I’ve always had fun with red-carpet looks instead of putting pressure on myself.
“At Cannes was probably the most glamorous moment I’ve had. I mean, there’s nothing like being on that red carpet; it’s huge, exciting, and pure glamour.”
The ‘Maleficent’ star – whose big sister is ‘One Upon A Time in Hollywood’ star Dakota Fanning, 28 – shared her film “role models” from the past and present like Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly and how she feel she could “reach out” to Nicole Kidman.
Elle said: “I have had so many role models to look up to. I’ve always been a Marilyn Monroe girl since I was young. I saw a photo of her once when I was seven and was like, “Who is that?” I started watching her films, probably, when I was, like, too young to watch them and was enamored by her presence. I also love Grace Kelly and Katharine Hepburn too. I definitely gravitate towards the older movie stars.
“More currently, I look up to Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet, Jessica Chastain—they’re all amazing. There are so many people I’ve looked up to. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with Nicole and so many talented actors that I really feel like I could reach out to any them and they would be there, which is not always the case.”

Paul Mescal says the outfits are his biggest childhood Academy Award memory

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Mescal says the outfits are his biggest childhood Academy Award memory.
The ‘Aftersun’ star – who is up for the Best Supporting Actor at the upcoming Oscars next month – would look at the red carpet fashion in his mother Dearbhla’s glossy magazines as a kid but developed a “love” for the ceremony when began acting training in earnest.
The 27-year-old actor told Vanity Fair magazine: “I don’t because it would always be on super late. My mom used to read Hello Magazine, these magazines, and I would always see the photographs of what people wore. But I really took a love for it when I started going to drama school. I remember staying up and watching it. There’s just something so alluring, so seismic about that night. I can’t describe what will be going through my head driving to it. It’s not that it doesn’t make sense, because I’ve had enough time to process the fact that it’s happening. But the picturing of myself within it is…something. It’s not like I’m just happy to be here at all. I feel immensely proud of the work that I’ve done. But there is just something really zoomed out about the Oscars as a concept.”
Paul – who shot to fame with the pandemic hit ‘Normal People’, the miniseries based on the book of the same name by Sally Rooney – wishes he could be musician because they “get away with more” stick from the British tabloids but has learned to deal with it better as he gets older.
He said: “Yeah. For f****** sure. We were entering a public world from a baseline of massive anxiety being like, “They’re out to get us.” Even though they don’t really fucking care. But that’s where I entered the problem…. But I just turned 27. And I feel like I can talk to myself in a way that I’m proud of. I definitely don’t feel the obligation to impress people with a false version of myself. I’m going to live my life and if people want to judge me for anything at any point I’m pretty secure with what I do. Because who cares? Who actually cares who’s doing what and who they’re doing it with? Who f****** cares? I’m jealous of musicians with that. I feel like musicians can be a little bit more like rock stars. They get away with more.”

Alexandra said: “There’s been a huge shift [in Hollywood] as far as how we want to portray women, the number of women working behind the scenes, the number of leading roles for women is increasing.
“While some people might say that it went from zero to 60 really quickly, I think it was such a long time coming that these things had to happen. And even if some people feel like it’s sort of an overcorrection, I think it’s much better than not doing anything about it,” she said, referring to both comfort and safety of filming sex scenes and nudity. “I love having intimacy coordinators and people paying attention to these types of things. And I love seeing more women in front and behind the camera.”

Giovanna Fletcher says Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe her are ‘beauty icons’

OHMYGOSSIP — Giovanna Fletcher says Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe are her “beauty icons”.
The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ winner believes the two Hollywood starlets “totally celebrated” themselves and would love to travel back to the Golden age of cinema to see them work.
The 38-year-old television personality told Hello! magazine: “I love looking back at some of the greats, like Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe, because I feel as though they totally celebrated who they were. If I could go back to any era, I’d go back to when they were around, because they were stunningly beautiful and celebrated for who they were.”
Giovanna – who has sons Buzz, eight, Buddy, six, and Max, four with her McFly rocker husband Tom Fletcher, 37 – doesn’t let her hectic family life stop her putting on “a bit of moisturiser” by It Cosmetics as she loves to stay hydrated.
She said: “First thing in the morning, I like to put on a bit of moisturiser. The main thing is hydrating my skin. There’s nothing worse than leaving the house when not only have you got no make-up on, but your skin also feels tight and dry. If I get a chance to use some CC+ Nude Glow, amazing – it just depends on what meltdowns are happening at the time. And the Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer makes me look less tired. That’s my trouble area – I’ve always had dark circles.”
The ‘Happy Mum Happy Baby’ podcaster admitted that beauty regimes quelled the “manic” energy in her “house full of boys”.
Giovanna: “All my creams. He’s definitely tucked into my Confidence in a Cream Moisturiser! He used to steal concealer every now and then, but it’s mainly just the moisturiser, unless we’re doing nail-salon day – the boys love that. It’s quite manic having a house full of boys, but painting nails is one thing that keeps everyone nice and still and calm.”

Amy Childs says getting ‘glammed up’ isn’t her ‘priority’ as a mother

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Childs says getting “glammed up” isn’t her “priority” as a mother.
The ex ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star – who in her ITVBe heyday popularised many beauty trends like a ‘vajazzle’ – is expecting fraternal twins with her entrepreneur husband Billy Delbosq, 37, after already welcoming Polly, five, and Ritchie, four, and is not longer “worried” as much as her appearance due to her growing brood.
The 32-year-old television personality told OK! magazine: “I’ve always said I probably wouldn’t. Yes, I like being glam and doing the school run with a bit of make-up on, because it makes me feel better, but I feel like with four kids, am I going to be the glam one like I used to be? The answer is no. How can I get four kids ready and get myself glammed up? I’m more about the mum life now. Amy Childs is the mum who does the cooking and cleaning. My priority now is the kids. I’m not worried about make-up, I’m thinking, ‘How am I going to get these two out?’”
Amy labelled carrying one of each gender is the “ideal situation” for her and her man as she admitted “the shop is shut” and doesn’t want anymore babies after this pregnancy.
She said: “It’s an ideal situation – Bill’s got his boy, I get another girl. Bill said to me the other day, “Shall we just go again after?” I was like, “Definitely not!” I want my life back now. Bill would love to have more children, but let him be with the twins first and then see what he says after, because he won’t be saying that! The shop is shut.”
