K-pop sensation Jimin named as Tiffany and Co’s latest brand ambassador: ‘It’s a great honour!’

OHMYGOSSIP — K-pop sensation Jimin has been unveiled as Tiffany and Co’s latest ambassador.
The 27-year-old BTS singer, born Park Ji-min – whose bandmates have also done deals with high-end fashion houses – will appear in his first campaign for the brand this spring, the jeweller announced on Thursday. (02.03.23)
Jimin hailed the deal as a “great honour” in a press release and said Tiffany had a “passion for design, innovation and artistry”.
Tiffany and Co’s executive vice president for product and communications, Alexandre Arnault, 30, the son of LVMH’s billionaire owner, Bernard Arnault, 73, said about the signing: “We are looking forward to welcoming multifaceted artist and performer Jimin of BTS as our newest house ambassador.
“He embodies the energy, style and sense of modernity that epitomizes Tiffany and Co.
“We are proud and incredibly excited to unveil our future campaigns with him launching later this spring.”
The announcement was accompanied by a photo of Jimin shirtless and wearing a black suit with a collection of the brand’s Lock bracelets.
He was also named earlier this year as an official brand ambassador for Dior.
In 2021, Tiffany and Co signed another K-pop star, Rosé, 26, from girl group Blackpink for the same role.
Labels including Chanel, Prada, Gucci have also announced partnerships with South Korean singers and actors in the last few years, and Jimin’s BTS bandmate J-Hope, 29, was last month announced as Louis Vuitton’s latest house ambassador.
He will release his first solo record ‘Face’ later this month, as BTS has been on a hiatus since 2022 as its members serve, or prepare to serve, their mandatory military service.
Almost all South Korean men are required to do time in the army between the ages of 18 and 28, but a law passed in 2020 allows some high-profile figures including entertainers and athletes to defer their military service until the age of 30.
BTS’ Jin, 30, born Kim Seok-jin, enlisted in December, but Jimin has yet to announce when he will complete his service.

Michael B Jordan’s knockout ‘Creed III’ looks are now a shoppable Ralph Lauren range

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael B Jordan’s ‘Creed III’ looks have been turned into a shoppable collection by their designer Ralph Lauren.
The 36-year-old actor’s tailored looks by the luxury label that he sported in the boxing sequel while playing Adonis Creed were made available from Thursday (02.03.23) via the brand’s Made to Measure program, as part of a collaboration with the film’s maker MGM Studios.
It consists of six looks worn by Michael’s character throughout the film, which range from casual to dressy.
They include a range of double-breasted suits in pinstripe grey and navy, sweatshirts in a heavyweight terrycloth fabric, a classic black trench coat and more – with every piece coming with a ‘Custom Tailored for Adonis Creed’ label.
Ralph Lauren said in a statement about the movie tie-in: “The partnership presents a shared story of icons – one in fashion, one in sport – both driven by the pursuit to build the life you desire.”
Michael told People about the collaboration: “The way Ralph Lauren tailor their suits, you know the way they’re made, it just exemplified that type of luxury and style that we wanted to see from Adonis Creed.”
‘Creed III’, which is out Friday (03.03.23), tells of Adonis’ childhood friend and boxing prodigy Damian, played by Jonathan Majors, 33, return from prison hungry to prove himself a boxing champion.
Adonis, who is secure with his family life and fortune, then faces off against his former protégé.
Other returning characters in the sequel include Adonis’ mother Mary Anne, (played by Phylicia Rashad), his wife Bianca, (Tessa Thompson) and his trainer Tony ‘Little Duke’ Evers (Wood Harris.)
The film also marks Michael’s directorial debut, and he has said about the project: “I finally got to this place in my career where I really wanted to tell a story, you know, and not just be in front of the camera, not just execute somebody else’s vision.
“And having a character that I’ve played twice before, you know it’s been seven, eight years living with this guy, so to be able to tell a story of where I believe Adonis is at.”

Lily Collins: ‘I take fashion risks because of Emily in Paris’

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily Collins says her ‘Emily in Paris’ character has pushed her to take “new risks” with her fashion choices.
The 33-year-old model and actress has been sporting eccentric looks in the Netflix show since 2020 when she took the role of out of her depth marketing executive Emily Cooper, who crosses the pond from America to France, and says the role has now rubbed off on her when it comes to her wardrobe.
Lily, who is also an ambassador for Cartier’s Panthère leather-goods collection, told the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “I take new risks because of Emily, whether that’s with colour palette, texture, print or shape – she helps me branch out and try new things.”
The actress added one of the highlights of filming the latest season of ‘Emily in Paris’ was wearing the Dolce and Gabbana outfit her character chose for the fictional fashion designer Pierre Cadault’s retrospective, which consisted of a zebra-print top with huge wing-like shoulders and black micro-shorts.
But for years Lily was not as comfortable with her appearance, as she suffered spells of anorexia and bulimia from her teens into her twenties.
She was never hospitalised with the conditions, but has admitted it has taken her years to recover.
Lily revealed her struggles with eating disorders in a 2017 collection of personal essays called ‘Unfiltered’.
She told Harper’s Bazaar about how writing them, and playing a young anorexia patient in the 2017 film ‘To the Bone’: “I needed to let go of some baggage so that I could better take on the baggage of characters I was playing.
“I’d been writing my chapter on the subject (in ‘Unfiltered’) when I got the script (for ‘To the Bone’), and I was finalising the book as I finished shooting, so it was a weird experience where one informed the other… I was able to heal new ways and just feel freer.”
She also told the magazine she would “love” to have a family with her film director husband Charlie McDowell, 39, even though she knows it will be a “juggle”.
Lily added: “Of course, I’d love to have a family. So there’s the personal, the work, there’s the blending of the two… it’s always a juggle, but I want it to be – I want to be able to do all the things I enjoy.
“The key thing is finding out what makes sense for us.”

Sheryl Lee Ralph ‘rises like a phoenix’ on the red carpet

OHMYGOSSIP — Sheryl Lee Ralph’s daughter told her to “rise like a phoenix” at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.
The 66-year-old actress – whose show ‘Abbott Elementary’ won the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series’ prize – walked the red carpet at Los Angeles’ Fairmont Century Plaza hotel in a sparkly caped Tadashi Shorji dress “fresh off the runway”, which she accessorised with Fernando Jorje earrings, and she revealed she’d been given some valuable advice from Ivy Maurice, who is also her stylist.
She told People magazine: “My daughter, Ivy Coco, is my stylist, and has been my stylist since the beginning of the awards season. And I said to her, ‘Coco, I need you to tell me what do I need?’ And she said, ‘Mommy, you’ve got to rise like a phoenix, but younger.’
“She has been very intentional about making sure it is fresh, that it is relatable and it is about the now.”
Sheryl has a close relationship with Tadashi and the designer even created her dress when she married Senator Vincent Hughes in 2005.
She said: “Tadashi and I have been friends for a long time. He designed my wedding gown to the senator. And Tadashi used to design for Coco and I when she was little. Now, here she is, a stylist, and he’s still hitting it out of the park.”
The actress recently joked the “birthing pain” of having her daughter had proven to be “worth it” after her offspring accompanied her “on this whole award train” and saw her score wardrobe hit after hit.
She said at the Golden Globe awards: “I said, ‘You get my style, Coco.’ I said, ‘You get me, you get the style, and let’s do this.’
“And she’s been winning — I’ve been on every best dressed list, including The New York Times and I thank my child. Every birthing pain was worth it!”

Cate Blanchett dons ‘reworked’ dress to SAG Awards

OHMYGOSSIP — Cate Blanchett wore a “reworked” version of her 2014 Golden Globes dress to the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards on Sunday (26.02.23).
The 53-year-old actress walked the red carpet at Los Angeles’ Fairmont Century Plaza hotel in a familiar-looking black lace Giorgio Armani Prive number, showing off the “third iteration” of the gown, as she’d also previously worn in to the Cannes Film Festival in 2018.
The dress was initially created from sheer fabric and lace with a high neck, open back, and capped sleeves, but this time around the lace was incorporated into a black sequin bodice with fitted skirt and sleeves cut along the lace pattern.
Cate’s stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, shared a look at the changing ways she’s worn the gown and wrote on Instagram: “Who’s wearing a custom @giorgioarmani dress with re-purposed lace left over from a dress worn in 2014 and 2018? You guessed it: #CateBlanchett (also wearing @louisvuitton jewelry) Swipe for the original all lace dress worn to Globes in 2014 and Cannes in 2018. Dream team : @marygreenwell @robertvetica @jordan_grossman @botaabdul Shoes @jimmychoo(sic)”
When Cate – who lost out on the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role accolade to ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ star Michelle Yeoh – wore the dress in 2018, she didn’t have the structure of the gown changed but mixed up her look with her hair in a centre-parted up-do and accessorised with huge dangling earrings.
The ‘Tar’ star’s commitment to sustainable fashion was also on display at the BAFTA Awards last weekend, to which she wore another black gown from her own archive, a Maison Margiela number that she originally donned for the 2015 Oscars.
The dress was refashioned this time around to feature more pronounced shoulders and raw edges at the hems and sleeves, and was accessorised with a spectacular Louis Vuitton pearl necklace which extended onto her shoulder.

Andrew Garfield likes ‘playing with colour’ on the red carpet

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew Garfield enjoys “playing with colour” on the red carpet.
The ‘Under the Banner of Heaven’ actor donned a custom navy mohair Valentino tuxedo to the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards on Sunday (26.02.23) and his stylist, Warren Alfie Baker, loves the fact his client isn’t afraid to break from the norm.
He said: “Andrew looks really amazing in clothes, so it’s more about finding the perfect silhouette for him.
“We play a lot with colour, and he’s always game to try new things. As a stylist and a creative, it’s so great to work with someone who brings that attitude. So when we work together, I’ll bring a lot of things that I know at this point he’s going to love, but I’ll still throw in a couple of wild cards, because I know he’s open to different stuff.”
Andrew was at the event to present Sally Field with a Lifetime Achievement Award and so didn’t want his look to be “too crazy” and overshadow the “special moment” at Los Angeles’ Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel.
Warren told The Hollywood Reporter: “That’s going to be a really special moment, and Andrew is very aware of that.
“We didn’t want to do anything too crazy, because we wanted to be respectful of the moment. Sally is an absolute icon, so our conversation started with that in mind…
“It’s a look that feels clean, classic and appropriate to the occasion.”
The suit took just two weeks for Valentino to put together for the 39-year-old actor.
Warren said: “Andrew wore a great look in purple to last year’s Independent Spirit Awards, and he also attended the Valentino show in Rome [last July].
“We have a really good relationship with them, and when we work on a custom look, there’s a lot of shorthand, because they have all his sizes. We only had about two and a half weeks from the time he was confirmed as a presenter, which is not the most time, so it really helps that Valentino’s turnaround on a custom look is really quick.”

Austin Butler reveals his worst ever fashion trend

OHMYGOSSIP — Austin Butler used to “spike his hair” to fit in with the skater kids.
The ‘Elvis’ actor has reflected on the ugliest fashion trend he’s ever been part of growing up, and one moment quickly came to my mind.
He told E! News: “I used to spike my hair completely on every end, so it was just the entire head was spiked.
“Because I hung out with all these skater kids, and I wanted to be just like them.”
Times have changed, and Butler has certainly looked the part as he’s appeared at countless glitzy events to promote ‘Elvis’ and enjoy the movie’s success.
Costume and production designer Catherine Martin, who is married to the film’s director Baz Luhrmann, previously opened up on working with the AGE-year-old actor on set.
He had almost 100 costume changes, which included recreations of the late King of Rock and Roll’s iconic jumpsuits, which were made by late costume designer Bill Belew.
Martin hailed Butler as the “fitting room GOAT”, adding: “Austin was subjected to I don’t know how many fittings with different pants and stretchy, heavy outfits. He was just an extraordinary collaborator. So nice, so hardworking, so patient.”
His energy extended to his performances, particular after Martin and her team created an authentic-looking set of the International Hotel.
She added: “It’s enormously wide, and we built it on the largest stage that we had [at Village Roadshow Studios in Gold Coast, Australia].
“I think it really tired poor Austin out when he had to perform full-out running up and down that stage.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Leomie Anderson has thanked Rihanna for wearing her “This p***y grabs back” hoodie at a women’s march in protest at Donald Trump’s sexism.
The Victoria’s Secret angel and designer, 30, launched her fitness brand LAAP in 2016 – the same year a secret video from 2005 emerged that captured Trump, 76, infamously saying women let famous men “grab ’em by the p***y” – and a year later ‘Umbrella’ singer Rihanna, 35, put on Leomie’s top when she joined The Women’s March movement and a protest outside Trump Tower in New York.
Leomie said on ITV’s ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’, which airs on Saturday (25.02.23): “Rhianna wore one of my hoodies to a women’s march. It was one of the biggest moments for my brand and it kind of established it as a brand for and about women. So I was like, ‘Yes, Rhianna, thank you.’”
Revealing how Rihanna’s backing of her brand prompted a spike in profits, the model-turned entrepreneur and actor added: “When all those sales started coming in, I was the only person posting my stuff and I was mailing out things by hand.
“And when Rhianna wears something, oh my gosh it’s going to fly. So you don’t even want to know how much I was struggling to get all of those out.”
Describing the pink hoodie – which Rihanna wore for the 21 January march in 2017 with a fur stole, claw gloves, a pink tutu – Leomie said: “It says, ‘This p***y grabs back’ in response to Trump… it’s a bit of a spicy jumper.”
Speaking about catwalk modelling the supermodel added: “One of my biggest catwalks that I’ve done is Victoria’s Secret. That was epic.
“It was such an enjoyable runway as you actually got to be yourself. Those wings were really heavy, but it was worth it.”
Leomie also discussed branching out from fashion into acting, after she took a part in 2022’s urban action-comedy ‘Sumortherhood’ alongside Jennifer Saunders and Ed Sheeran.
She said: “I had such a great time working on the movie and it’s so different to working in modelling. It was completely a new experience for me.
“You guys have got it good. Actors get treated with respect. You get trailers, you get snacks!”

Shania Twain takes inspiration from drag queen fashion and make-up tutorials: ‘It takes courage!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Shania Twain takes fashion and beauty tips from drag queens’ online tutorials.
The ‘Man! I Feel Like a Woman!’ singer, 57, has been a long-time ally of the LGBTQ+ community, and revealed how she finds inspiration from drag acts in an interview with Anthony Allen Ramos from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), posted on Thursday (23.02.23) to YouTube.
She said: “Drag shows are so fun! I’ve been to a couple of drag shows, big ones in Las Vegas… I so admire the talent there.
“First of all, it takes a lot of courage. I mean… fashion in itself takes courage.
“You’re taking on a lot, and then the makeup – the ability to put their own make-up on, and do such a beautiful job – I have learned a lot from drag queens.
“I watch their tutorials. I’ve never seen such transformation in some of these talents that their faces go through, just through creative makeup.
“I’m very inspired by it, is what I would say. I think we need this inspiration.
“We need drag queens to share their talent with us.”
Shania’s iconic looks have included the leopard-print hood she wore in the 1990s music video for her ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’ hit, with the singer crediting designer Marc Bouwer with the idea for the look.
Speaking about how she is getting ready to kick off her highly-anticipated world tour in support of her newly-released ‘Queen of Me’ album, and her new single ‘Giddy Up!’, she added: “I just wanna be cheerful. I wanna cheer myself up, I wanna cheer others up and just get some pep in our step… just this feeling of feeling giddy.”

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s ‘effortless’ beauty look

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosie Huntington-Whiteley opts for an “effortless and effective” eye make-up look.
The 35-year-old model-and-actress opts for a minimalist look for day-to-day beauty and uses her own Rose Inc products to achieve the ideal aesthetic.
She told HarpersBazaar.com: “I would describe my everyday eye make-up look as effortless and effective.
“To achieve it, I use Rose Inc Satin and Shimmer Duet Eyeshadow, a pair of pigment-rich eyeshadows – one cream, one pressed — that visibly smooth the skin while delivering multidimensional looks.
“Then I use the Rose Inc Ultra-Black Lash Lift Serum Mascara. It’s a rich, glossy mascara that lengthens, lifts, and fortifies lashes.”
Rosie is always particularly attentive when applying her mascara.
He said: “Starting with the shorter side of the brush, I like to load up the root of my lashes before flipping the wand over to the longer, curved side to lengthen and pop the lashes up.
“I love how the curved dual bristle delivers a clean, defined finish and a natural curl that lasts.”
The ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ star revealed her best eye make-up trick is to use the right tools.
She said: “I always have a few small brushes on hand that allow me to be precise along the lash line and get into the crease of my eye with ease….
“Of course, an eyelash curler makes all the difference when doing any makeup look.”
She added of the Rose Inc Eyelash Curler: “Its thoughtfully designed curve adapts to every eye shape, targeting even hard-to-reach lashes with one squeeze.”
And Rosie stressed the importance of good lighting, ideally natural light.
She said:”Good lighting is the key to an effective eye-makeup application.
“Stepping back between layers is crucial so you don’t lose perspective on what you’re doing—it’s easier to add more than to remove product!”

‘Monastic chic’: Jeremy Strong offers explanations for brown wardrobe

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Strong feels “almost denuded” by his signature brown wardrobe.
The ‘Succession’ actor – who has three daughters with wife Emma Wall – famously only wears different shades of the colour when he isn’t working and he’s admitted there are various reasons for his uniform style.
He told the new issue of GQ magazine: “My wife told me that somebody said something like, ‘The three things you’re going to be certain of are death, taxes, and that Jeremy Strong will be wearing brown.’ I don’t know, it’s inexplicable.
“In a way, it’s a metaphor for the rest of my life. I gravitate towards an extremely narrow band. That’s all that I want and I don’t want anything else…
“This is maybe half bulls***, but maybe not total bulls***: I spend so much of my life wearing costumes, I feel almost denuded in my style. It’s so consistent and neutral that almost anytime I put on any wardrobe, I feel profoundly different from my baseline self.
“It’s monastic. Monastic chic.”
The 44-year-old actor is also heavily involved in the wardrobe of his ‘Succession’ alter ego Kendall Roy, working closely with costume designer Michelle Matland, and for the upcoming fourth season, Loro Piana sent him a customised jacket and he received a watch from Richard Mille to wear in character.
He said: “Those are all things that I do on my own because those details just feel really important to me, and so I take initiative in that area.”

Riley Keough was too ‘petite’ for Daisy Jones wig

OHMYGOSSIP — Riley Keough was too “petite and soft” for a wig in ‘Daisy Jones and The Six’.
The 33-year-old actress portrays the titular rocker in the new TV series and the programme’s hair and make-up departments took inspiration from Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks in coming up with her look.
Hair department head, MaryAnn Hennings explained she rejected the idea of a hairpiece for the lead, but did cut in a straight fringe.
Noting Riley has an “insane amount of hair”, she added: “[Riley] is so petite and soft that the wig just didn’t work.”
Make-up department head Rebecca Wachtel also sought inspiration form Stevie, as well as actress Ursula ‘Uschi’ Obermaier.
She told PopSugar: “I liked how [Obermaier’s] skin tone and the kind of deconstructed make-up looked.”
Meanwhile, Suki Waterhouse had some extensions added after the glam team sought inspiration from Debbie Harry and Brigitte Bardot for their vision for her edgy keyboardist character Karen Sirko.
MaryAnn said: “[Sirko] is a little more early punk mixed with rock and roll. She’s created her own thing.”
Nabiyah Be wore wigs to play Simone Jackson with her Afro getting bigger and bigger as she grew more successful in the disco world.
The hairstylist said: “Diana Ross was my inspiration. When you think disco, it is Diana Ross.”
As the series escalates, so too does Daisy’s partying and substance abuse, and MaryAnn was constantly thinking about what state Riley’s rocker would be in and how that would be reflected in her grooming.
She said: “I always tried being ahead of her character, like if this were me what would I do if I woke up in the morning. I’m hungover, I did too many drugs last night, what would I do with my hair? Would I do anything?”
And Rebecca changed Riley’s skin tone to reflect her character’s descent into addiction, with her bright and helthy look gradually getting more washed out, while her make-up looks grew more extreme the worse she feels.
Reflecting on one performance scene seen in the show’s trailer, in which Daisy’s eyes are covered in blue eyeshadow and her red lipstick is smeared, Rebecca said: “She looks a little crazy because she’s supposed to look a little crazy. She’s becoming unhinged.”
