Julianne Moore loves to wear feathers

OHMYGOSSIP — Julianne Moore’s former stylist has revealed the Hollywood star loves wearing feathers on the red carpet.
The Cannes Film Festival is in full swing and the Oscar-winning actress has been attending the world’s biggest film festival in the French Riviera for decades and has always looked sensational in doing so.
Veteran stylist and Julianne’s long-time friend Leslie Fremar has been responsible for the majority of her fabulous fashion looks and has divulged the secrets behind her favourite outfits.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I always felt that there’s something very comforting about being around Julianne.
“She gives off an aura that nothing is going to go wrong, and she shines that light on her entire team. Everyone then feels that we’re good, we got this. She’s the captain of that, and it’s really infectious and calming.”
One look in particular that stands out is Julianne’s fabulous feathered frock by Chanel, which she wore at the ‘Maps To The Stars’ premiere in 2014.
Leslie said: “Julianne loves feathers — she’s always been enamored by birds and feathers. When this dress arrived to the office it was just so beautiful, and when she put it on, I remember thinking that she looked like the most beautiful bird. There’s something really special about the light in Cannes, and when she hit the red carpet, with her hair color and skin tone, she just glistened. I remember this moment like it was yesterday. and it still is one of my all-time favorite looks I’ve ever done.”

Alison Goldfrapp: Designers won’t lend you clothes unless you’re Lady Gaga

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison Goldfrapp opts for vintage fashion because “it’s very hard” to get designers to lend her ensembles.
The 57-year-old Goldfrapp star – who released her debut solo album ‘The Love Invention’ last week – is known for her bold style inspired by her love of disco, but she admits her outfits are all thrifted as it’s very rare that she can get designers to dress her – because she’s not “Cate Blanchett or Lady Gaga”.
Speaking to Vogue, she said: “It’s mostly because it’s very hard to get people to lend you clothes unless you’re Cate Blanchett or Lady Gaga. But I mean, I also love vintage clothes, don’t get me wrong. I own lots of vintage clothes and they can be really fun and beautiful. I love going to see my friend Stephen Phillips, who has a shop called Rellik in London, and he has a vast archive of vintage clothes which is absolutely amazing—he has a huge warehouse in his home, and he’s so knowledgeable about all the designers. So I absolutely love doing that.”
She added: “But it’s also because, yeah, it’s very hard to borrow sometimes—I often ask designers and they don’t always lend. I borrowed some beautiful things from Alexandre Vauthier the other day in Paris, he was very generous. And Goom Heo, she lent me some stuff, and she’s wonderful too. It’s not always that straightforward, but I absolutely love fashion and getting to wear wonderful things—I do still love that part of it.”

Martha Stewart ‘surprised’ by Sports Illustrated cover

OHMYGOSSIP — Martha Stewart was “kind of surprised” to land the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover.
The 81-year-old businesswoman feels proud of her Swimsuit cover – but it wasn’t something she ever imagined doing.
Martha told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I was just surprised because I’ve done so many other things I didn’t expect to be topping with this.”
The TV star has become increasingly focused on her health and her diet in recent years.
Martha also insisted she isn’t interested in getting any plastic surgery.
She said: “I think the world has embraced the fact that you can be whoever you are whenever you want to be it.
“That’s really what I think is helping. I think it’s helping people. You put on a bathing suit and you feel good about it. [People are] trying a little harder to keep your good health, your good looks, your good skin, your good hair.”
Earlier this month, Martha revealed that she hopes to inspire women to “challenge” themselves.
She wrote on Instagram: “I am so thrilled to be on the cover of the @SI_Swimsuit issue! My motto has always been: “when you’re through changing, you’re through,” so I thought, why not be up for this opportunity of a lifetime? I hope this cover inspires you to challenge yourself to try new things, no matter what stage of life you are in. Changing, evolving, and being fearless – those are all very good things, indeed. (sic)”
Martha insists she doesn’t really worry about ageing.
The TV star – who counts Snoop Dogg and Pete Davidson among her friends – is also keen to make the most of her opportunities.
She told Sports Illustrated: “I don’t think about age, ever.
“I have friends who are 90, and I have friends who are 20, and that is a very good way to look at life because age is not the determining factor in terms of friendship or in terms of success.”

Jason Sudeikis owns 250 pairs of sneakers

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Sudeikis owns around 250 pairs of sneakers.
The 47-year-old actor – who plays the titular character in ‘Ted Lasso’ – has revealed that he’s a huge fan of Nike sneakers and he occasionally wears them on the sports comedy-drama show.
Discussing the fan reaction to his on-screen attire, Jason told the New York Times newspaper: “We’re all so flattered by it. It’s something that we were intentional about from the get-go, before we thought anyone would notice.”
Despite this, Jason admits there’s one person who isn’t a fan of his on-screen fashion choices.
He shared: “[It] drives our costumer, Jacky Levy, a little crazy. Just for continuity purposes.”
Jason explained that, broadly speaking, a lot of time and thought is given to the on-screen outfits.
The comedy star said: “Jacky is incredibly intentional about that. Certainly with Rebecca’s wardrobe, Keeley’s wardrobe, everybody’s.
“It’s not always the sneakers, either – Ted wearing an orange sweatshirt in the Amsterdam episode was intentional because the national colour for the Netherlands is orange.”
Jason became a sneakerhead during his school years in the 1980s.
The Hollywood star is a particular fan of Air Jordans and Jason revealed that he loves one specific pair.
Asked to name his favourite pair of sneakers, Jason replied: “They’re pretty beat up at this point, but my Jordan 1s, low, they’re Carolina Blue.
“I wear them a couple times throughout the show. I genuinely love those shoes.”
Jason previously admitted that he’s actually been gifted some free pairs of Air Jordan sneakers.
The actor told GQ magazine: “I’ve always worn sneakers: first as a necessity, when playing sports, and then I suppose for no other reason than it reminds me of that time.
“When they bring out the old-school Jordans it’s kind of great: you can have them all over again, shoes that I had when I was a kid – I had the very first pair of Jordans in ’86. So I buy stuff on eBay or there’s a great store in New York called Flight Club – they have one in LA too that I hit up.
“Recently, people from Nike and Jordan brand will send me stuff, too.”

Sam Thompson teams up with Pete Wicks to improve men’s mental health with new Baylis and Harding collection

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks have joined forces to help men’s mental health with new Baylis and Harding collection.
‘Made in Chelsea’ star Sam and Pete – who found fame in ‘The Only Way is Essex’ – have collaborated on the new Baylis and Harding Goodness Men’s collection in order to help guys look after their wellbeing to coincide with mental health awareness week, which runs from May 15 to May 21.
The stigma surrounding men and mental health has caused a significant gender suicide gap, with suicide rates being higher for men compared to women, as men are told to present as “strong” and “be a man” by suppressing their emotions.
According to new research conducted by luxury bath brand Baylis and Harding, 85 percent of British men reported feeling stressed, while 46 percent of men surveyed admitted that work is their biggest cause of stress followed by finances, health and the current cost-of-living crisis.
Radio presenter Sam – who has been candid about mental health struggles – urged the importance of prioritising self-care.
The 30-year-old celebrity said: “This study proves what I already know to be true, that prioritising mental health is the most important form of self-care for more than two thirds of men.
“It’s really important that men take the time to do proper self-care and look after their mental wellbeing to release the stress of day-to-day life, which is why I’m so happy to be working with Baylis Harding on its new Goodness Men’s range as they are highlighting the simple act of a cold shower can benefit the body and mind alongside the product’s natural ingredients
“Personally, I love a sit-down shower to wind down or a cold shower to get me focused and spa diffusers, especially peppermint, while reading and playing with my cats also does the trick.”
Pete added: “It can often be a struggle for men to really take the time to de-stress and focus completely on their own mental health – something which I myself have been guilty of.
“Teaming up with Baylis and Harding, we’re hopefully encouraging more men to actively take that time to reflect and focus on themselves, their mind and their body. For me self-care doesn’t have to be a big thing, it can be something small like taking a shower, a walk or even spending time with family and friends that can really help me reset my mindset.”
Tania Slater – co-founder of Baylis and Harding – said: “Despite the all-important mental health benefits of self-care, British men spend an average of just 30 minutes on their daily routine.
“Simple things like taking a shower can make a huge difference – you can enjoy a wellbeing boost by adjusting the water temperature, with countless studies showing that cold showers stimulate the release of endorphins which reduce depression and anxiety symptoms, as well as improving circulation.”

Hailey Bieber: Rhode has exceeded my wildest expectations

OHMYGOSSIP — Hailey Bieber says Rhode has “exceeded” her “wildest expectations”.
The 26-year-old model – who is married to singer Justin Bieber – has had incredible success with her skincare line since launching the brand in the US last summer, and is now getting ready to launch it in the UK this week.
No one is relishing in her accomplishment more than Hailey, who has been pinching herself after succeeding beyond her wildest dreams.
She told The Sunday Times’ Style magazine: “Skincare is a real-life commitment for me.
“It’s my favourite thing I’ve ever done. It has exceeded my wildest expectations.”
Hailey – who has amassed 49.5 million Instagram followers – is known for her trademark look of dewy skin and glazed lips.
Her tomboy chic signature style is popular amongst fans who aim to emulate her effortless look.
Rhode, Bieber’s middle name, was born in lockdown and aims to deliver customers a simple and affordable route to her iridescent and luminous glow.
Adding: “As I’ve gotten older I’ve realised how much more comfortable I feel with just fresh skin and brushed-up brows.”
Fascinated by medicine, the catwalk queen undertook a dermatology course at the beginning of her modelling career.
She said: “I’m fascinated by the medical field. When I started modelling I used to walk around with a medical terminology book in my bag.
“I hated studying, so there was no way I was going to go to school for any of this. I didn’t graduate high school because I was home schooled and I dropped out [at age 18], which I don’t love.”
Hailey’s brand, which consists of only three items – a moisturiser, a lip treatment and a serum – stands out against the overly saturated market of celebrity beauty for being understated and affordable.
She said: “Our philosophy is not to overwhelm the customer. We make one of everything and make sure it’s really good.”

Dolly Parton changes into 10 outfits a day when doing personal appearances

OHMYGOSSIP — Dolly Parton changes into 10 outfits a day when she’s doing personal appearances.
Steve Summers, who has styled the ‘9 to 5’ singer, 77, for more than 30 years, added he loves the dizzying range of outfits he has to come up with for her as he has to put together ranges for her shows, acting, theme park events and philanthropic efforts.
He told Vogue: “There is an outfit in production every single day. If she’s doing personal appearances, 10 outfits in a day is not unusual.”
Steve added about how everything she is seen in is customised: “Even if she wears a dress that’s off the rack, it doesn’t look like it by the time she gets it on.
“There’s a customisation that happens no matter what she’s wearing.”
He revealed he and Dolly’s costume team make around 300 custom outfits a year for the star.
Steve said: “Designing for Dolly is great, because there are so many (Dollys.) I’ve got the philanthropist, the singer, the actress, the theme park owner. The canvas is always very broad.”
He added about how he and Dolly know exactly which outfits will work: “She’s been very specific throughout her entire career. She wears what she likes, and what she feels comfortable in.
“The great thing about working with Dolly is she doesn’t follow fashion trends at all. Her style hasn’t changed that much over the years.
“She’s always cinched at the waist, and the (outfits are) often monochromatic. “She’s a very petite woman, so it’s easy to overwhelm her – it’s easy for the clothes to wear her, and I don’t like that.
“She’s known as a fashion icon, but the clothes are relatively simple. They’re very intricate in detail, though.”
Dolly almost only ever wears 140mm heels, with Steve saying about how they are also custom-made: “The pitch on the shoe is very high, so we have the lasts custom-made for comfort.
“We design all of the shoes in-house – she has a dear friend who is a shoe manufacturer, and we have a guy here in Nashville, too.”

Anna Wintour has ‘total control’ over Met Gala guest list

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Wintour has “total control” over the Met Gala guest list.
The Vogue editor-in-chief, 73, who has chaired or co-chaired the event since 1995, is also said to approve the “majority” of the outfits on show, according to the author of a newly-released biography on the journalist.
Writer Amy Odell, whose book ‘Anna: The Biography’ came out on 4 May, told Grazia when asked about how much influence Anna has over the annual Gala: “Total control. No one gets into the event unless she approves them.”
When asked if the editor approves dresses or seating plans, Amy said: “She approves the majority of the dresses, and might even review the sketches of the looks in advance.
“The seating plans are meticulously created. She often breaks up couples to force them to mingle with new people.
“She considers whether someone is an ex of someone else and might not want that person in their sight line.”
Despite her level of control, Amy said Anna loves off the wall looks, adding: “One friend told me that she loves the over-the-top looks! A lot of people have criticised the gala for becoming too much of a costume party versus a black-tie event.
“But Anna – who remember, is a huge theatre fan – enjoys the theatrics.
“The first time she left her spot inside the museum where she greets guests was for the Camp Gala – she went outside to watch Lady Gaga come up the steps (when the singer’s entrance involved choreography and several outfit changes.)”
Amy said when quizzed on whether they had been “any difficult guests or people she wouldn’t invite again”: “There have been incidents with guests. A former gala planner told me once she had a guest pass out in the bathroom. “Every year people smoke in the museum, which is not allowed – this has been the case for decades though it only recently became a news story.”
The journalist said about how Anna wants the Gala to be her “legacy”: “Anna has told friends she wants her legacy to be for her philanthropy.
“The Met Gala is the biggest philanthropic endeavour of her career, raising hundreds of millions of dollars for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is also, her friends told me, a fun night for her, even though it is also work.”

‘Succession’ costume designer says Shiv Roy’s outfits reflect her psychology

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Succession’ costume designer Michelle Matland says Siobhan ‘Shiv’ Roy’s outfits reflect her turbulent life changes and psychology.
The move stylist, who has also worked on big-budget films including ‘Cold Mountain’, ‘Signs’ and the 2014 reboot of ‘The Stepford Wives’, has generated thousands of articles with her outfit choices for the characters on the hit HBO show about Logan Roy’s media dynasty – from Kendall Roy’s unbranded £415 Loro Piana hats, to the cavernous Burberry bag mocked by Tom Wambsgans in season four’s premiere and Shiv Roy’s choice of dress at her mother’s wedding.
Michelle told the Evening Standard about using clothes to chart Shiv’s character arc from a liberal political lobbyist to desperate CEO wannabe: “She is a democratic babe (at the start of the show.)
“She’s trying to live in a world that’s antithetical to her family, she doesn’t want to be identified as a Roy, or as wealthy or affluent, because that could be detrimental to her career – that could kill her.”
Michelle added about the character, played by Sarah Snook, 35, she is forced to morph into a woman in a man’s world when she goes back to her dad’s media empire.
She said about dressing her in pantsuits to reflect the change: “She dives into the boys’ club, she wants to fit in in the boardroom with the men.
“Then, in season three, we see her try to become her own person, so yes she’s wearing suits but they’re her own personal suits, we find a femininity to her, a subtlety to her, she has little nuances of the Shiv she wants to become.”
Michelle’s work on the show has generated Instagram accounts created to document each character’s fashion choices and articles with titles such as ‘How to Dress Like your Favourite “Succession” Characters’ and analysis by GQ of the different kinds of watches worn by the lead characters.
HBO bosses have also cashed in on the interest in her work by creating merchandise such as hoodies, gilets and coffee mugs.

Diane Von Furstenberg ‘finds her strength’ looking in the mirror

OHMYGOSSIP — Diane Von Furstenberg doesn’t listen to herself when she doesn’t like what she sees in the mirror.
The 76-year-old fashion designer is known to post selfies in her swimwear on Instagram and she has explained where she gets her confidence from.
Speaking to Julia Louis-Dreyfus on her ‘Wiser Than Me’ podcast, she said: “I have a tendency to think that, at least in my case, when I look at myself in the mirror, I find my strength there. So somehow, when I look at myself in the mirror, I like it and then sometimes I see a picture of me and I say, ‘Oh my God, that’s not how I feel like.'”
The style icon will never let anyone make her feel like a “victim” and she gets her strong character from her late mother, who was freed from Auschwitz weighing a worrying 49 pounds (3 stone 5 ounces) – not long before her miracle birth in December 1946.
She recalled: “[Just] 18 months before I was born, my mother was liberated from Auschwitz. She weighed 49 pounds … My mere birth was a triumph over misery, and therefore, just the fact that I was born was a triumph.”
On the important lesson her hero mom taught her, the Queen Of The Wrap Dress added: “She never wanted me to be a victim. Never be a victim, no matter what happens. And that’s how you build your character. Because the only thing that you have complete control of — the only thing — is your character.”
Diane previously admitted she loves to tell people her age.
The designer – who founded her eponymous brand in 1972 – believes getting older is an “achievement”, and she will share how old she is because she enjoys hearing their reactions.
Speaking about ageing at the Fast Forward Women’s Innovation Summit in 2017, the creative mastermind said: “Because it’s an achievement.
“I turned 70 this year, and I tell everybody because, first of all, I like the sound of it. I like them to say, ‘Oh really?’ Although they don’t mean it.”
Diane encourages women to not be “afraid” of getting grey and wrinkly.
She said: “Don’t be afraid of the years.
“Make sure you and yourself are your best friend forever, and that requires a lot of practice.”

And she also revealed that her 37-year-old model spouse likes to drink her SlimFast shakes.

Emilia Clarke: Hair bleaching for Game of Thrones completely ruined my hair!

OHMYGOSSIP — Emilia Clarke says her ‘Game of Thrones’ role ruined her hair – because of the extreme bleaching used to make her hair blonde.
The 36-year-old actress played Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO fantasy series – based on George R. R. Martin’s novels – and lit up the screen with her shocking long blonde locks.
In real-life, the British actress is a natural brunette and she admits the extensive colouring process left her strands less than luscious.
Speaking to BAZAAR.com, she said: “My advice to anyone who wants to bleach their hair is don’t do it; it ruins your hair, so just stop bleaching it.
“If you want to have the blonde hair, just get a wig or pimp up hair with some highlights because it completely ruined my hair.”
Revealing the effect the bleaching process had on her hair, she added: “My hair felt like straw and was falling out. Then I cut it all off. The thing I’m most proud of getting my hair back to a good place. I do nothing crazy to it now and use really beautiful products. I get a bit of lighter colour put through my hair sometimes and I love that. I love Virtue; I swear by their shampoo, hair mask, and root-lifting product. I also have a Dyson hairdryer. I really try and take care of it. But after bleaching my hair, I am learning to embrace my natural hair.”
Emilia tends to keep her hair dark and in a bob these days, and says the best way to change up styles is to use extensions to give herself a different look when required.
She said: “I have a hairdresser in England and he’s amazing and I have Jenny Cho in America, who’s is also fantastic. My favorite kind of look is when they add clip-in extensions, especially for a red carpet. It looks so sleek and beautiful. I love doing a really high ponytail with lots of extensions. It feels very drama.”
