Someone at & Other Stories saw [my work] and liked it. I only realized yesterday that some people might think “Her” is a reference to Hillary Clinton! It wasn’t meant to be. I was trying to think of other words that went with Other Stories. The phrase ‘Morning Mirror’ comes from a friend who says she doesn’t like to look at herself for an hour after she wakes up.”

Although the style muse found the project a “challenge” she enjoyed testing her ability and “bending the rules”.
She explained: “I consider limitations a challenge. I love figuring out ways to bend the rules to get the product looking exactly how I want it to. Like my shoes and bags, there are restrictions in certain materials and techniques with rules that suppliers try and make you stick to. I like to push the boundaries.”
And Sophia has revealed her capsule was “dance inspired” and features “vibrant and colourful pieces”.
She said: “The collection is dance-inspired. There is a variety of vibrant and colourful pieces using tropical graphic prints on crop tops and black leggings with side-panelled details and oversized tees. I took inspiration from my signature black suede Mila heels when designing the bodysuit which has black ornate hand-drawn flocked detailing over stretch mesh. It’s always been important to me to offer something for everyone in my collections, whether it is a statement embellished shoe or a simple black pump. I wanted this collection to reflect the way I design by offering the same variety. It was important for me to include my own aesthetic on a classic Puma silhouette. The 66-year-old fashion designer – who founded his eponymous brand in 1985 – has admitted he has always had an interest in fashion and when he realised his music and reading ability were not his strong points he decided to gain credibility for his sense of style, which only saw him dismissed from school for the day to change into “normal clothes”.

I was working nights at a gas station and i had saved $150, and a friend had another $150, so together we bought 20 pairs of jeans and sold them out of a car, then we opened a shop. People’s Place. It ran for ten years.”
And it was during that decade when he ran his business that Tommy received the “best education” about designing, as he would listen into his customer’s conversations with one another, which helped him to understand the needs of his buyers.
He explained: “I was in the fitting room, listening to the comments, on fit, fabric, feel. Knowing what a customer likes, what they don’t like, what they would never buy, what everyone wanted to buy. That’s the best education in the world, because you learn to listen to the consumer, and the consumer is the boss. They will decide whether or not you are successful.”

The dark-haired mogul thinks the belief that fashion is “unachievable” is “bogus”, and he thinks it is possible for merchandise to be created to empower the wearer.
He explained: “I think fashion, for a long time, relied on the marketing tool of the unachievable, and it’s a bunch of bogus. Today it has to be about authenticity. The way I cut my clothing … it is about empowerment and loving the curves of the body.”

“I want to turn Loewe into a cultural brand. Some of the world’s most talented people make our bags, so it’s not nostalgic. It’s the future.”
And Jonathan felt his customers didn’t want to purchase nostalgic items, but wanted to know the “history” of the brand in a modernised way.
He continued: “Young people don’t want nostalgia. They want to know the history of the brand, but they want it to be current for today.”
