Suki Waterhouse uses beauty as a ‘tool’

OHMYGOSSIP — Suki Waterhouse uses make-up as “armour”.
The 25-year-old model thinks cosmetics are a great “tool” because they can help give a sense of confidence, make someone stand out, or fade into the background.
She said: “As I’ve grown up it’s really about context – like what you need from that day.
“Sometimes I want to disappear and melt into the background and wear a hood and no make-up.
“And then sometimes, like if you ask for a raise, you want a shield of make-up on – it really is armour.
“Make-up is a tool, at our disposition. We’re the captain of the make-up ship.”
Suki has been friends with fellow model Georgia May Jagger since her schooldays, and credits her pal’s mother, Texan supermodel Jerry Hall, for teaching them a lot about beauty and modelling basics.
Discussing her first experiences with beauty with Miss Vogue magazine, she said: “I remember being obsessed with sky-blue nail polish – Hard Candy and stuff like that. I also was obsessed with lightning bolts because of Harry Potter and then Bowie.
“I learned some good basics from my mum. She’s not someone who cakes it on, she’s just really naturally gorgeous.
“And then I learned a lot from my friend Georgia May Jagger – we’d be around her mum and she’d teach us how to catwalk. I’ve always been kind of fascinated by that long blonde hair and big red lips I’d see on Jerry and Georgia.”
But Suki admitted it could be tricky to experiment with the “loud” looks she appreciated, because of strict rules at school.
She added: “And then I’d look up to Britney Spears and the Spice Girls, so it was all very loud make-up and fashion. At school the goal was not getting in trouble for wearing make-up.”

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s former chef spills on vegetable diet

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s former chef has revealed they ate almost nothing but “vegetables” when he worked for the ex-married couple.
The 44-year-old actress and the Coldplay frontman – who announced their split in March 2014 after 10 years of marriage and divorced in July 2016 – stuck to a super strict diet of vegetables when they employed Kate McAloon, and she’s disclosed the one-time lovers removed sugar and dairy from their diets.
Speaking to News.com.au, Kate revealed: “When I first started cooking for Gwyneth and Chris it was when she was doing the first ‘Iron Man’ movie. I had a brief from their assistants … they eat nothing. They are very strict. They avoided any sugars, anything sweet, no dairy, just more vegetables.”
But after some time working for 40-year-old Chris and Gwyneth – who used to follow a macrobiotic diet – Kate began to add more ingredients and flavours to their meals, which were noticed and enjoyed by the pair.
She explained: “When I got there I was trying to stick to the brief and I realised as I started adding more ingredients in, they said ‘Your food is getting better’. That’s what happens when you eat more than grass!”
Kate, 49, has cooked for other A-List celebrities including Miranda Kerr, Steven Spielberg and Courteney Cox and says her success is down to the fact that her food “tastes good and is healthy”.
And she says her least fussy customer was supermodel Miranda.
She spilled: “Miranda’s great. She walks the talk … she really does eat like she says she does. I met Miranda when she was with Orlando [Bloom]. They both love my curries, light chicken or vegetarian curries with coconut, as well as quinoa, salmon and vegetables. I do a chicken salad with a lot of fresh herbs and chia puddings for breakfast. She tries not to eat anything with chemicals, no rice, just the lower GI carbs. But she has the 80/20 rule that she sticks to … so eating healthily 80 per cent of the time and having a treat the other 20 per cent.”

Nicole Richie lets daughter Harlow experiment with beauty

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Richie’s nine-year-old daughter Harlow loves to experiment with her mother’s makeup and change her hair colour.
The 35-year-old fashion designer’s first born with her rocker husband Joel Madden enjoys changing up the shade of her locks and Nicole doesn’t mind because she thinks it’s good for “the soul”.
She said: “She loves to experiment with hair, and I let her do that. She’s finding joy in that and I feel like she’s kind of figuring out for herself what she likes and experimenting with different colours. Whether it’s makeup or not, experimenting with colour is really important for the soul. So I just let her go at it.”
Nicole debuted her jewellery line House of Harlow 1960 in 2008, and has since expanded the brand to include a clothing range.
Despite her business being clothes and accessories, Harlow is more a “hair and makeup girl” and loves to watch tutorials on applying makeup.
She added to PEOPLE: “My daughter loves makeup … She’s on her own thing, you know? It’s cool. It’s cool to watch. She’s way further down the line than I am. She loves makeup, she loves a makeup tutorial. That’s her thing. She’s a hair and makeup girl.”
Meanwhile, Nicole admitted creating show-stopping clothes and accessories for her label is something she enjoys spending all of her time doing.
Speaking about her involvement with creative process for the fashion house, the golden haired beauty – who is the adopted daughter of ‘Hello’ hitmaker Lionel Richie – said: “I live and breathe it. I wouldn’t spend my time doing this if I couldn’t 100 percent be there.”

She explained: “LA was a huge inspiration for me.”

Mandy Moore: I’m a Pale Patty

OHMYGOSSIP — Mandy Moore wishes she had “discovered” spray tans a lot earlier in her life because they stop her from being a “Pale Patty”
The ‘This Is Us’ actress grew up in Florida and was always out playing in the sun without protection, something she now knows was very bad for her skin.
Mandy, 33, now makes sure she applies sunscreen whenever she is out in the sunshine but she accepts her complexion doesn’t exactly glow due to her lifestyle choice which is why she relies on fake bronzer to give her skin some colour.
Speaking to PEOPLE, she said: “I feel like I got [the sun] memo early enough and hopefully – knock on wood – avoided real long lasting damage because I’ve been a Pale Patty for quite a number of years. I was a Florida kid so I was so used to being outside and going to the beach, I didn’t even think about it; it was such a part of our lives. Not even like going out to lay and bask in the sun. I do miss it sometimes. I miss the vitamin D aspect of it.”
“That’s one thing I wish I discovered earlier though – a good spray tan. It would save me a lot of heartache about my pasty legs!”
Mandy – who recently got engaged to Indie rocker Taylor Goldsmith – is open to trying out new things to improve her health and natural remedies for any ailments she might have.
And the stunning star’s openness to trying different things helped her make a reasonably speedy recovery after she gave herself a black eye and a cut when she accidentally walked into the door handle on her shower two weeks ago.
Mandy – who also voices Rapunzel in ‘Tangled: The Series’ on the Disney Channel – relied on light therapy and supplements made from the arnica flower herb to get her eye to heal ahead of The Emmys last weekend.
She said: “My eye is almost healed. I only had those stitches in for six days because I had to go right back to work, so they took them out for when I started shooting again. It’s very delicate and I can’t really put any makeup on it right now. But it’s healing.
“I’ve been mainlining arnica and I’ve been laying under LED lights because it promotes healing. Just trying to be really careful and do any sort of ridiculous folk remedy especially at the beginning that I could do to help it heal.”

Cartoon Nas is the new face of Timberland’s fall collection

OHMYGOSSIP — A cartoon version of Nas is the new face of Timberland’s fall 2017 campaign.
The American rapper has teamed up with the iconic boot brand for their new collection The Legend Club and has made a series of animated videos to promote the iconic footwear, which he says is a “household name” and was a signature uniform growing in Queens, New York.
Speaking in the first video, he says: “New York is a very stylish place; we don’t do anything the regular way, we don’t do things to fit in. Timberland is a household name, especially where I’m from. We used to go to Steinway Street in Queens – I used to put them on layaway, I used to do whatever to make sure no one else bought that size.”
The first boot in the collection is the Volume VII FlyRoam, set to be released on September 30.
Nas – real name Nasir Bin Olu Dara Jones – says hip-hop’s evolution goes hand in hand with youth culture and how they dress helps them tell that story.
He adds in the animated video: “Hip-hop is constantly evolving because it’s the language of the youth. All the things that matter are still there, it’s the glue, and it’s just the new generation comes and tells their story.”
The rapper’s cartoon persona will star in a series of animated videos that will accompany each boot as it is released in the four-part Legend collection range.
The Volume VII Flyroam Sport Hiker is available to buy on September 30 at Foot Locker retail stores.

Speaking to Vogue UK, she said: “What’s really great about being a model right now, is that there’s so much inspiration and good intent behind the collections. “The designers do a really good job of making us feel very empowered in being a part of that runway. Especially this season, I’ve been really excited because all the girls take on the power that the designers have given us and that’s been really fun.”
Gigi – who is dating Zayn Malik – also revealed she does her homework before she walks in a show because she thinks it is very important to “understand the story behind a collection” if you’re going to
She added: “I try to give the creative team what they want and get into the mindset. I feel like once you understand the story behind a collection, it’s a lot easier to model the clothes.”

Selena Gomez’s underwear workout

OHMYGOSSIP — Selena Gomez works out in her underwear.
The ‘Bad Liar’ hitmaker – who recently underwent a kidney transplant – keeps things “intimate” if she’s exercising at home, but of she’s out and about, she wants her gym gear to feel “sexy”.
Asked what she works out in, she said: “When I’m at home, it can be very intimate. Maybe just a sports bra and maybe some little spanky kind of cute things.
“And when I’m out, then it’s the typical: something slouchy that feels sexy that I can take off. It’s about layering and cute little socks.
“I add little chains to my socks because it adds a little charm, a little sparkle to it. Little anklets, actually. Me and my assistant got a bunch from Japan when I was on tour.”
However, Selena admitted she often misplaces her beloved anklets.
She added to Vogue.com: “I went through this whole phase where I would just wear the anklet around and shower in it. It’s effortless. I lose things–for me, it’s got to be on me, you know what I mean?”
The 25-year-old star favours comfortable footwear and claims she enjoys wearing sneakers so much, she’s “forgot” how to walk in high heels.
She said: “[Sneakers] have been so changing my life. I actually forgot how to walk in heels, you guys. I’ve been figuring out the past few events I’ve gone to, I’ve forgotten how to walk in heels just a little bit. I’m like Bambi, trying to figure out how to get my legs under.
“It’s the craziest thing because you get so comfortable [in sneakers], and now you can just wear them everywhere. Now that I’m in the city–I’m going to be here for a little while–it’s even better. I can walk anywhere, I can put on a cute dress with them. My entire closet is sneakers and cute boots and now a few heels.”

Cindy Crawford’s minimal beauty

OHMYGOSSIP — Cindy Crawford barely wears any make-up because she’s got “good” skin.
The 51-year-old supermodel has a minimal beauty routine for her day-to-day look because she doesn’t have many blemishes or flaws which she feels the need to conceal.
She explained: “I use my own line, Meaningful Beauty, on my skin. I love our day cream, which has SPF and antioxidants. I’ve got my makeup down to three minutes. It’s a nude, natural look. As I’ve gotten older, I wear less makeup because my skin looks good, so I’m not trying to hide it.
“I apply By Terry foundation, a little concealer, and some powder, then I comb my eyebrows and finish with a tiny bit of eye shadow, mascara, blush, and lip gloss.
“I’ve also been going to facialist Cristina Radu for 15 years for microdermabrasion.”
And, after a day at work, Cindy – who has children Presley, 18, and Kaia, 16, with husband Rande Gerber – can’t wait to take her make-up off when she gets home.
She told HarpersBazaar.com: “I wash my face the second I get in because otherwise the family are like, ‘Who are you?’ ”
And the catwalk icon takes an equally simplistic approach when it comes to styling her hair.
She said: “My hair takes five minutes if I’m not starting from scratch. If I have it blown out at a shoot, I’ll make it last. I’ll pin it up at night in a loose bun, then run smoothing serum on the ends or blow out a few strands in the morning.”
Cindy favours a “casual” look when it comes to her wardrobe, but has go-to staples she turns to when she needs to look more glamorous.
She said: “We live by the beach in Malibu, and I love the casual lifestyle; you can go anywhere in yoga clothes. If I have to head into town for meetings, I’ll wear trousers.
“I don’t wear dresses and skirts except when I’m going to an event. Chloé and Stella McCartney are my go-tos, then I put on heels and a belt, and I’ll feel pulled together.”

Nicole Kidman’s curl regret

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman wishes she had “embraced the curl” more.
The ‘Big Little Lies’ actress regrets spending a lot of time getting her wavy hair to be smooth and straight and with hindsight, thinks she should have left her locks in their natural state.
She said: “I do think I shouldn’t have straightened my hair as much, let it stay curly more. I wish I had just embraced the curl.”
However, the 50-year-old actress had her natural curls in 1989 movie ‘BMX Bandits’ and really hates the “ridiculous” hair style she sported for the film.
She told Elle.com: “When I did ‘BMX Bandits’, they put pipe cleaners in my hair because they thought it would be like a big fashion [moment]. I wish they hadn’t done that to me. It was ridiculous. It did not look good.”
Nicole – who has daughters Sunday, nine, and Faith, six, with her husband Keith Urban, as well as adopted children Isabella, 24, and Connor, 22, from her marriage to Tom Cruise – thinks a huge compliment is to not tell her she looks “tired” and she can understand why beauty companies have moved away from phrases such as “anti-aging” in favour of “restorative”.
She said of the shift: “I think what it does is take the focus off the number; it just says, ‘I embrace my age, I embrace who I am, I’m living my life as fully as I can,’ and it’s that simple.
“You’re going to have wrinkles; it’s about how do you lessen them or repair them or make them so that you feel good about it. I think so much of it is based on that sort of inner sense of health, so that you glow.
“Probably the biggest compliment someone can give you is, ‘Gosh, you look great. You don’t look tired.’ Particularly as a mom — that’s the best.”

Lauren Hutton prefers doing own make-up

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Hutton “doesn’t like” working with hair and make-up artists.
The 73-year-old supermodel believes cosmetic experts are unused to working with older skin, so she’d rather attend to her own appearance than hurt their feelings by criticising their work.
She said: “I don’t like to work with hair and make-up because they don’t seem to know very much. Well, who can blame them? They’ve never had a senior wrinkle in their lives and, suddenly, they’re looking at me and I’ve got wrinkles through my eyebrows and everywhere else, you know, it’s a Minotaur’s maze.
“I don’t want to have to hurt their feelings but I end up saying, ‘Hands off, let me do this. We’re going into a labyrinth and I know it” and I just hurt their feelings and they get sniffy.”
The veteran model admits she’s considered cosmetic surgery “a million times” but accepts her appearance for what it is.
She told Grazia magazine: “Are you kidding? A million times [surgery] has occurred to me.
“I’ve smoked and I’ve been on the equator for six months of the year for most of my adult life and that’s a tough sun.
“I’m a mass of polka dots and I don’t like them but that’s just the way it is. I’m not gonna go take them all off.”
Despite her advancing years, Lauren thinks it is important to keep modelling because she brings other people confidence.
She said: “I keep telling myself it’s very important, because it gives courage, especially to girls, it gives them some place to go to.
“When I tell them my age, they get taller right in front of me, their eyes get bigger, they just get filled with spirit.”

Emilia Clarke goes blonde

OHMYGOSSIP — Emilia Clarke has dyed her hair platinum blonde.
The 30-year-old actress – who is a natural brunette – has previously worn a range of wigs for her role of Daenerys Targaryen in ‘Game of Thrones’, but as she prepares to shoot her final season as the Mother of Dragons, she’s lightened her own tresses in tribute to her iconic alter ego.
She shared a photo on Instagram and wrote: AAAAHHHHHHH SHHHHIIIII****** I done did it. Mother of dragons meet Emilia. Emilia meet mother of dragons. If you squint just so you might never know. All hail to the magnificence of @kevalexanderhair and @candicebanks74 the genius creators of ‘KHALEESI WIG’ (and not forgetting all the hair on game of thrones for 8 glorious years) for at long last making this magical moment a reality. #khaleesikicksoff #gameofthrones #cominghomeneverfeltsogood (sic)”
However, it is unclear as to whether Emilia will still continue to wear wigs on the show because of her character’s very elaborate hair styles.
The show’s hair designer, Kevin Alexander, previously discussed how it took “ages” to craft the right wigs for Emilia’s character.
He said: “Finding the color with Emilia and Daenerys took ages. Everyone named it a different colour. Some people see it as a platinum, some people see it as a creamier blonde. But right at the start with that, everyone had an opinion — all the producers, the writers, everybody wanted a tone, so that took at least two, two-and-a-half months, with six or seven wigs, going back and changing the tone. It was literally about changing tones.
“And also, in the book, when you hear about her description, her hair is described as silver, but if you go too silver, it’s aging. We didn’t want to do that on a young girl’s face. Finally we achieved the color we found.”
And the British actress had a number of hair pieces which have been regularly replaced because they are so “sensitive to atmosphere”.
He added: “We started with one [wig], and then slowly over the period of the seven years, we’ve built [more] — they can get ruined really easily. They’re quite sensitive to atmosphere, so if in a fire scene, there’s too much smoke or whatever, they just go gray. You just lose them. They become a really dodgy gray like she’s been rolling around in the dirt.”

The ‘Bridesmaids’ star and her husband Michael Koman welcomed their first child into the world, James, in August 2016, and she admits her 13-month-old son has changed her pre-awards ceremony rituals.
She said: “My baby, very sadly, is at home in New York right now, and I miss him.
“A baby makes it more fun getting ready, but also maybe a little louder.”
The 37-year-old actress recently donned a Jenny Packham dress to the Emmy Awards, and she admitted the gown made her feel “elegant” but also “edgy”.
Speaking to Us Weekly magazine, she added: “This is a Jenny Packham dress. I love this dress. I feel like it’s very elegant but also kind of edgy so I feel a little wild but in a princess-y way.”
Ellie and Michael tied the knot in July 2012 and she announced her pregnancy during a taping of ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ in April 2016.
She told the presenter: “I have big news, I’m pregnant!”
Ellie then pointed towards her pretty floral dress and Jimmy immediately leaned over and said: “Hi baby.”
He then gifted her with a pot of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.
While Ellie was keeping her news a secret from her mother early on in her pregnancy she had to tell her ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ producer Tina Fey.
She said: “We had a table read, and my character is supposed to be on a rollercoaster …
“It was still very early on, but I felt like a pregnant lady on a rollercoaster was not ideal so I had to tell my boss, Tina Fey. She knows every secret. I told her before I told my mom.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gigi Hadid is inspired to “funk up” her look by her boyfriend Zayn Malik.
The 22-year-old supermodel has admitted the former One Direction star convinces her to wear what “makes [her] happy” on a regular basis, but she didn’t used to don any designer labels during her younger years.
She said: “He inspires me a lot to funk it up and wear what makes me happy.
“When I was younger I never owned any designer clothes. I rode horses, I was at the farm all day.
“But I loved photographers and images, that’s what I fell in love with. I fell in love with how a model could bring life to a picture and not only be a part of it but make it something else.
“I think once I got older I started watching the Victoria’s Secret show on TV and that’s when I would practice my walk during commercial breaks.”
Gigi counts her mother, former model Yolanda Hadid, 53, as one of her biggest inspirations in the industry, and has thanked her for not “sugar-coating” the profession.
She said: “[My mother] taught me a lot about the industry and never sugar-coated it.
“She always said, ‘If you’re not the nicest, most hard-working person in the industry there is going to be someone prettier, nicer and more hard-working.’ ”
Gigi became a global brand ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger in January 2016, and the 66-year-old fashion designer knew she would become a huge star as soon as he saw her on the runway.
Speaking in a joint interview with Gigi on ‘The Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw’, he added: “Gigi was on my runway and she stood out head and shoulders above everyone else. We had 55 girls during this particular show and it was all eyes on Gigi.
“So I was like, ‘We have to do something together.’ ”

Speaking to Allure magazine, she said: “I’m, like, the most fit I’ve ever been.”
And, although she’s one of the most famous stars in the world, the ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star actually finds her body-building trainers on Instagram.
Asked where she hires her trainers, Kim – who works out for an hour and a half every day – said: “You go and you find this bodybuilder on Instagram and you contact her. You find someone who had an amazing transformation after she had a baby.”
And it looks like her exercise regime is paying off as Kim has been praised for her fitness ability by her younger sister Khloé Kardashian during a recent workout session.
A clip of the raven-haired beauty perfecting the exercise was shared on Snapchat, in which her 32-year-old sibling can be heard shouting: “How’d you do that? You’re so good Kimberly. That’s crazy. Kim is like a legit jump roper.”
This praise comes after Kim admitted she wanted to lose an “extra seven pounds”
And the ‘Selfish’ author has hinted she is a hard task-master and will work out in her “ghetto garage” instead of on a beautiful setting so she doesn’t get distracted.
Speaking in a clip where she slammed Khloé and her older sister Kourtney, 38, for not being focused. She said: “[Khloé] you’re Snapchatting! We need to f**king work out. This is why I work out in my f**king ghetto garage over this gorgeous basketball court.”

Poppy Delevingne cuts hair into bob

OHMYGOSSIP — Poppy Delevingne has cut her hair into a bob.
The 31-year-old model and actress debuted her new shorter ‘do at the world premiere of her movie ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ in London on Monday (18.09.17) night as she walked down the red carpet in her pink and brown frilly knee-length frock.
The blonde beauty appeared to be in her element as she swung her hips from side-to-side to ensure photographers got the best angle of her killer dress and new hairstyle.
And, although all eyes were on her hair, the fashion icon’s skin was unsurprisingly glowing as she recently admitted she is “passionate” about good facial cleansing.
She said : “You do have to have a regime. I’m passionate about good cleansing; I’m loyal to an enzyme face wash I discovered while I was working in Germany, Medical Beauty Research. I’m not sure you can get it here, so I bulk buy when I can.”
And Poppy – who was born and raised in London – has revealed she has become “much stricter” with using suncream – especially after her time in California.
She explained: “I love SkinCeuticals for their powerful serums and often mix the Hydrating B5 with some Heliocare SPF 50. The sunscreen has a slight tint so the combo provides a perfect bare-faced, glowy look. I’ve become much stricter about SPF since spending time in LA.”
And Poppy is equally as thorough with her hair care as she is with her skin treatment, and, because she has bleached tresses, she feels “tense” if she has run out of her Wella System Professional Repair Mask.
She said: “I bleach my hair so I really have to look after it. This works so well that if I run out of it, I feel tense.”
