Diane Von Furstenberg loves to tell people her age

OHMYGOSSIP — Diane Von Furstenberg loves to tell people her age.
The 70-year-old fashion designer – who founded her eponymous brand in 1972 – believes getting older is an “achievement”, and she will share how old she is with people because she “likes the sound of it”, but also because she enjoys hearing their reactions.
Speaking about growing older at the Fast Forward Women’s Innovation Summit, which was held at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, and has been obtained by InStyle.co.uk, the creative mastermind said: “Because it’s an achievement.
“I turned 70 this year, and I tell everybody because, first of all, I like the sound of it. I like them to say, ‘Oh really?’ Although they don’t mean it.”
The mogul also enjoys declaring her age because it makes her feel proud she has “made it” to the big milestone.
She continued: “But also because it means that I made it.”
And Diane has encouraged women not to be “afraid” of growing older, and has urged women to embrace ageing.
She said: “Don’t be afraid of the years.
“Make sure you and yourself are your best friend forever, and that requires a lot of practice.”
Although Diane is proud of her age and all that she is achieved, she thinks she should be twice her actual age because of her life experiences.
She said: “And truly, having lived the life that I lived, I should be 140.”
But Diane doesn’t just give advice on ageing, but she also dishes parenting tips to fellow designer Victoria Beckham, who has sons Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 15, Cruz, 12, and six-year-old daughter Harper.
Speaking previously about the words of wisdom exchanged between her and Diane, Victoria said: “I was having dinner with Diane Von Furstenberg a few months ago, and she’s a woman that I have an enormous amount of respect and admiration for.
“And I said to her, ‘Diane, when your children were younger and you were working, did you feel guilty?’ And she said ‘Absolutely not. It’s a waste of time and energy.’ ”

Speaking about his favourite wardrobe item to PEOPLE, he said: “That’s the most sentimental thing in my closet. I’ve worn it, though he had a smaller waist than me. I’ve only worn it in private.”
Although Sam has kept his father’s clothes, he hasn’t taken anything from his ‘Outlander’ wardrobe because it is covered in “mud and blood”.
The hunk – who portrays Jamie Fraser in the television series – said: “They keep it tight. To be honest, there is nothing in there I want. It’s all covered in mud and blood. None of it I would really want to take home. However, the weapons I would love. And they wouldn’t give me my sword, so I eventually bought my own. I’ve had an armour smith come make me my own particular sword — it’s stupid, but I love it.”
Sam has admitted for his role in the programme he has to undergo a major makeover, which sees him dye his blonde locks “a crazy amount” of times throughout the year, and he has admitted the constant beauty alterations have “taken over [his] life”.
Speaking about his character’s preparation, he said: “I’m a natural blonde. It gets dyed. It’s pretty horrific. I have to get it dyed a crazy amount — it’s like every three weeks. It’s not easy. It’s hard being a ginger. But I think everybody has a little bit of ginger in them. I’ve got some in my beard.
“We’ve been doing ‘Outlander’ for four years, and it’s definitely taken over my life a little bit.”

“When I’m at events, my mama will carry ballet flats or sneakers. There’s a pair Tory Burch just came out with. I was at the MTV Movie Awards and I popped those on after.

Iskra Lawrence opens up about her intense work outs

OHMYGOSSIP — Iskra Lawrence loves making her body “suffer” when she works out.
The 27-year-old model “really enjoys” working up a sweat because it leaves her feeling “most empowered”, but the star will not “beat [herself] up about it” if she misses a fitness session because she thinks her body reacts better to “shock than habit”.
Speaking to InStyle.co.uk, the blonde-haired beauty said: “I really enjoy working out and making my body suffer through exercise but if I have to skip the gym for whatever reason I don’t beat myself up about it.
“For me I feel most empowered when I am weight training but I love trying different things, there’s like a million ways to squat – including at the club. The thing I think that is important to remember is that your body responds better to shock than habit.”
The fashion muse used to be a competitive swimmer when she was younger, and she believes her history as an athlete has stood her in good stead.
She added: “I like cardio and trying new tricks all the time – I swam for nationals when I was younger so I’ve got good muscle memory, so that helps.”
Iskra has revealed she feels “very comfortable” with her appearance she would happily strip down in public to flaunt her curvaceous frame.
She continued: “I definitely have body confidence and feel very comfortable in my own body – I could streak down the street and not feel bad. Obviously there are times when I feel heavier and it makes me a little anxious but then I try to change my thoughts. It’s normal to have those thoughts but you kind of need to take a breath and remind yourself of the positive things. There are so many other things to put your energy into and think about than what you look like – there are bigger things to worry about.”

Camila Cabello went through a ‘rough patch’ with eyeliner

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello went through a “rough patch” with eyeliner.
The 20-year-old singer has admitted she can’t shake the nightmare she suffered five years ago when she failed to apply a sleek of black liner on her eyelid because she has “the worst hand eye coordination”.
Speaking to E! News about her beauty blunder, the ‘Crying in the Club’ hitmaker – who was announced as the L’Oreal Paris ambassador earlier this year – said: “Eyeliner and I went through a rough patch at the beginning! I have the worst hand eye coordination and not the best handwriting. I usually use a brush, angle it at the same spot every time, and then follow the line. If I’m really in a rush, I use Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara from L’Oréal Paris, which makes my lashes look super full really fast.”
But the musician has revealed she has found a method to apply the cosmetic product that best suits her.
She explained: “The perfect cat eye all depends on what works for your eye shape and what works best for your eyes. For me, I learned it’s best to not do thick liner all the way, but to make it super thin and make it thicker at the ends. Also using the darker shades of shadow in the outer corners.”
But Camila has revealed she feels her “sexiest” when her skin looks “healthy”, as she feels “more comfortable” when she is au naturel.
When asked when she feels her best, the former Fifth Harmony band member said: “[When I have] healthy skin.
“I think this whole journey has made me more comfortable in my own skin, literally and metaphorically. I like to wear less make-up when I can because I have gotten more comfortable with myself…I feel like now i have more room to grow in my personal style too.
“I like to throw on balm or gloss to bring out my colour. When I have to go on red carpet and need a little more, I use L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Lipstick.”

Cara Delevingne: ‘Modelling destroyed me’

OHMYGOSSIP — Cara Delevingne says modelling has “destroyed” her.
The 25-year-odl catwalk icon has admitted she felt she was forced to slot into a particular stereotype of a woman during her career at the helm of the fashion industry, but that only made her feel worse about herself and “not genuine”.
Speaking to the Telegraph Online, the fashion muse said: “As a model I played the part of what I thought society wanted me to be as a woman. That’s why that part of modelling destroyed me. It wasn’t fashion’s fault.
“It was me getting successful from playing a part that then felt … not exactly not genuine, but this stereotypical idea of female beauty. What I saw as being feminine: that girlie, femme-fatale, pretty lipstick type girl.”
And the ‘Suicide Squad’ actress believes social media would have been an added hindrance to her if it was around when she was growing up.
She said: “I always felt as a teenager that everything I did was because I wanted someone to love me. I think the added pressure of social media would have destroyed me. I was already on the verge of being destroyed anyway.”
Cara recently hacked off her blonde locks for her upcoming movie ‘Life in A Year’, but the star has revealed the makeover impacted on her emotions.
She explained: “It really put me back into a dark place. I felt like a moody, hormonal teenager again. That’s probably when I thought about death the most.”
And the star has revealed she has to cry “every day” to be able to manage her anger, and a yoga session will help her bring her deep feelings to the surface.
She explained: “I’ve just had a mental breakdown this morning, but I’m totally fine. I’m not someone who cries there and then. I’ll hold it in. Until I’m in the bathroom by myself.
“I have to cry every day. If I don’t, I get angry. So when I go and see my [yoga] teacher, it’s like I download all the pain that I’ve been holding on to. I cry and I shake. It’s like a f**king exorcism.”

Bella Hadid opens up about the fashion industry

OHMYGOSSIP — Bella Hadid says the modelling industry is “not as rewarding for the soul”.
The 20-year-old catwalk icon has admitted ever since she was a child she has always “loved helping people”, but she believes the fashion business “doesn’t warm [her] heart” and is “not very giving”, although she would like to change the industry for the better.
Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar Arabia magazine, the brunette beauty said: “It’s not very giving, being a model, it doesn’t warm your heart. It’s not as rewarding for the soul as most things.
“Since I was a kid I’ve loved helping people. My mom always said that I would go on the street and hug somebody that was sitting on the corner. It was just because I genuinely loved people, and that’s something that I want to bring forward with me in my career. If I’m able to change something in the world for the better, then I’ll be ecstatic.”
However, the style muse thinks the fashion industry is slowly changing and is “not all about the face”, and models are required to have more of a personality nowadays.
She explained: “What’s so beautiful about the time that we live in right now is that it’s not all about the face any more. You have to be more than that. You have to have a personality and you have to be able to go out there and have a conversation with somebody and not be a blank face.”
Bella has hinted her career takes its toll on her as she feels “tired most of the time.”
She explained: “Everybody has a different opinion of what hard work is. At the end of the day, if you’re exhausted, you worked hard. I’m definitely tired most of the time.”

Speaking to The Jackal Magazine, the dark-haired hunk said: “I hate shopping. I don’t even know where I shop. I just seem to pick things up as I go.”
But the ‘Jupiter Ascending’ star thinks he is “fortunate” he has the opportunity to work with designer labels and be styled by an expert, because then he gets to wear “nice suits and outfits”.
He explained: “I’m fortunate that I get to wear nice suits and outfits in my job.”
However, Douglas thinks as he has matured his interest in style has become less and less.

Prabal Gurung wants ‘more change’ in the fashion industry

OHMYGOSSIP — Prabal Gurung is desperate for “more change” to happen in the fashion industry.
The 38-year-old fashion designer is keen to see more diversity in the business and hopes brands will include more size ranges, and “celebrate diverse models” on the catwalk and in fashion campaigns in the future because he thinks “progress has been slow” in recognising models of different cultures and body shapes.
The creative mastermind – who has teamed up with the plus-size label Lane Bryant on a second collection – told PEOPLE: “Unfortunately progress has been slow. I’ve definitely seen steps taken more now than ever but we’re absolutely hoping for more growth. For real change to happen, we need the entire industry, and on a global level, to get behind this movement – to celebrate diverse models in campaigns, editorials, on the runway and beyond.
“It’s pretty incredible that the majority of US consumers are considered ‘plus size.’ It’s a substantial segment of the market, yet there is such minimal representation and engagement with this client.
“Our population is full of people of different shapes, sizes, ethnicities and religions. The melting pot culture of New York is what brought me here in the first place. It is essential that the cultural cannon reflect our diverse population.”
Prabal has revealed his inspiration for his first capsule with Lane Bryant was to “empower” women, but his latest designs follows his muse on a journey to “embrace the relaxed and free” lifestyle.
Speaking about the second instalment, he said: “Last season was about an empowered woman on a journey to Paris, the fashion capital of the world. While there, she takes control over her life, she owns her femininity, and she embraces self-love. This season, our muse continued her experience through Paris and learned to embrace the relaxed and free, romantic spirit of the city.”

Speaking to the Metro newspaper about her fitness plan, the ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ host said: “Running and gyms don’t suit me, you have to find what you like.”
But Cat has revealed she will attend yoga sessions to prevent her from looking like an “old lady”, although she has claimed she is “not very stretchy naturally”.
She added: “I’m not very stretchy naturally so yoga helps me, otherwise I’d look like an old lady.”
Cat has revealed she enjoys styling herself because there are days when she wants to wear a feminine outfit, whilst other days she wants to channel her inner rock chic by sporting leather garments.

Giorgio Armani made own world

OHMYGOSSIP — Giorgio Armani has “constructed a world” for himself.
The 83-year-old fashion designer had a modest childhood so loves the fact he has been able to use his career to surround himself with the life he admired on film and in books.
He said: “My family was a modest family with modest opportunities, so I basically constructed a world for myself. And that’s why I love this job so much, because it has allowed me to build a world to which I never belonged–a world that I saw in films, and that I read about in books. I built my own way of being .”
The style legend is a big fan of British period dramas and the way people used to dress, as he laments the fact people now typically only wear one outfit from morning until night.
He told Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “There’s a representation of a world and a way of being that I love very much.
“There’s one way of dressing for breakfast, another for dinner, and clothes depending on the various circumstances that presented themselves throughout the day.
“But nowadays, you put on something in the morning, and you only take it off when you go to bed at night.”
The Italian designer recently chose London Fashion Week for his Emporio Armani show, to coincide with the opening of his Bond Street store, and though he thinks the city has changed a lot over the years, he believes it has become more “sophisticated”.
He said: “I’ve been away from London for quite some time. The city has changed, I’ve changed, and fashion has changed. But what has stayed the same is my desire to express myself. Because in this rapidly changing world, you can be influenced, dragged in one direction or another, and lose your own identity. But I have eyes and ears; I look around and listen.
“So this is what it means, this is the London of 2017, 2018. And now I consider London to be more sophisticated, perhaps, than before.”
