Brooke Shields creates new apparel and accessories line

OHMYGOSSIP — Brooke Shields has designed an apparel and accessories line for QVC.
The 52-year-old star has revealed that the ambition behind her new collection, which is officially known as Brooke Shields Timeless, is to ensure that women “look and feel their best each day”.
Speaking about her contemporary collection – which is to be officially launched on February 15 – Brooke shared: “After years of being dressed by professionals, I walked into my closet one day and realised I had lost sight of my own personal style.
“I am incredibly passionate about this collection because I have created pieces that are not only chic, but that take the guesswork out of getting ready each morning.”
The New York-born actress is excited to share her designs with the world.
Brooke said, according to Women’s Wear Daily: “I can’t wait to share this line with the QVC customer, and I truly hope it helps women look and feel their best each day.”
And Doug Howe, the chief merchandising officer for QVC, has praised Brooke’s dedication to the project.
He said: “What we love about working with Brooke is her dedication to helping women live better lives, which is something we are passionate about as well.
“Brooke’s line is sophisticated but approachable and is ideal for busy women who crave fashion that is not only chic and effortless, but a perfect mix of modern and timeless.”
The announcement of her clothing line comes shortly after Brooke vowed to uphold a “certain quality of life” throughout 2018.
She explained: “Instead of ‘I’m going to lose five pounds’ or ‘I’m going to give up chocolate,’ I make this promise to keep upholding a certain quality of life throughout the year.
“I do like the idea of a fresh start, but it’s about trying to keep balance.”

Jessica Biel’s 50s inspired make up

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Biel’s Golden Globes look was inspired by the 1950s.
The ‘Total Recall’ star teamed up with her hairstylist Adir Abergel and make up artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua to create the classic beauty look for the awards ceremony, which took place earlier this week.
An elongated cat eye liner and a matte pink lipstick were created using Chanel make up and were inspired by film icons like Sophia Loren and Elizabeth Taylor. Putting her own twist on the classic look, Kara opted for brown taupe pencil, which helped to lengthen and soften the eyes.
And Adir – who has worked with Jessica for over a decade – put her hair up in a low ponytail, before styling it into a bun.
Meanwhile, Jessica isn’t new to attending award ceremonies and back at the 69th Annual Primetime Emmy awards last year, she admitted she was “sweating for an hour” in her nude coloured Ralph and Russo Couture dress because the air conditioning was broken.
Talking about the fashion nightmare, she said: “You guys, we have been sweating for an hour, my back was stuck to the chair, my butt was stuck to the chair, my thigh was stuck to my other thigh … it was intense, it was intense.”
And the star made it publicly known she was suffering from the stifling heat as she took to social media to share a photograph of her on her way whilst holding a glass of ice.
Alongside the image, which was shared on her Instagram account, she wrote: “When the AC is broken en route to the Emmy’s you thank God for the ice in your drank. #emmys (sic).”

G-Eazy ends partnership with H+M

OHMYGOSSIP — G-Eazy has followed in The Weeknd’s footsteps and has ended his partnership with H&M after one of its advertising campaigns was accused of being racist.
In one of the clothing chain’s advertising campaigns, they enlisted a black child model to wear a jumper that read “coolest monkey in the jungle” and now the ‘Good Life’ rapper has pulled his upcoming collaboration with the brand as he doesn’t want his name to be associated with the company.
G-Eazy wrote on Instagram: “Over the past months I was genuinely excited about launching my upcoming line and collaboration with @HM … Unfortunately, after seeing the disturbing image yesterday, my excitement over our global campaign quickly evaporated, and I’ve decided at this time our partnership needs to end.
“Whether an oblivious oversight or not, it’s truly sad and disturbing that in 2018, something so racially and culturally insensitive could pass by the eyes of so many (stylist, photographer, creative and marketing teams) and be deemed acceptable. I can’t allow for my name and brand to be associated with a company that could let this happen. I hope that this situation will serve as the wake up call that H&M and other companies need to get on track and become racially and culturally aware, as well as more diverse at every level.”
It comes after The Weeknd said he was “shocked, embarrassed and deeply offended” by the advert.
He wrote: “woke up this morning shocked and embarrassed by this photo. i’m deeply offended and will not be working with @hm anymore… (sic)”
H&M are still selling the hoodie but the advertising picture has now been changed.
The Swedish retailer said in a statement: “This image has now been removed from all H&M channels and we apologise to anyone this may have offended.”

Gal Gadot was a tomboy growing up

OHMYGOSSIP — Gal Gadot was a “tomboy” growing up.
The ‘Wonder Woman’ star’s six-year-old daughter Alma is a huge fan of make up and high heels but the actress admits she was never like that growing up.
She said: “She loves to play with it – she loves to put makeup on me, she loves to put makeup on herself and just play with it and feel like she’s an adult while trying to walk in my high heels. I must confess that when I was a young girl I never did that. I was a tomboy.”
Now, though, Gal wears make up nearly all the time, “unless she’s on vacation”.
She added: “The first time I really started to understand the value and really understand makeup was when I started modelling … I’m about enhancing the right things [with make up]. I don’t like to wear too much makeup, I don’t like when it shows too much. But I’m a working mother, so I do like to cover darkness around my eyes, etc., etc., and when I go out, to wear bold lips and mascara.”
Gal is fronting Revlon’s Live Boldly campaign and the make up brand believes Gal is perfect to be their global ambassador.
Anne Talley, global brand president of Revlon, told WWD: “That’s where Gal really comes in. She’s a worldwide symbol of feminine strength and beauty, but she’s also a modern, multifaceted woman … She’s a strong advocate for women, recognized for using her voice and platform to encourage the entertainment industry to strive for fairness. We really see her embracing feminine power and what a woman can accomplish with their own special strength.”

David Beckham to launch L’Oreal grooming line

OHMYGOSSIP — David Beckham has joined forces with L’Oreal for his own grooming line.
The former soccer ace – who has sons Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 15, Cruz, 12, and six-year-old daughter Harper with his fashion designer wife Victoria Beckham – has titled his range House 99, with the number a reference to the year which saw him tie the knot with former Spice Girl Victoria, and become a father for the first time to Brooklyn.
1999 also saw his former team Manchester United win a treble of trophies.
Speaking about the inspiration for the capsule collection of 21 items ranging from hair care treatments to moisturisers, David said: “I’m so excited to finally share House 99 with everyone around the world.
“For me, grooming is not only about how you look, but how you feel. It’s about being comfortable, trying new things and shaping your next look.
“I created House 99 to give people the inspiration as well as the right products to experiment and feel completely at home doing so.”
Among the pieces are the Bold Statement Tattoo Body Moisturiser and Softer Touch Beard Oil.
Interestingly, superfood Quinoa and Spirulina are some of ingredients used, as it reflects the 42-year-old hunk’s healthy lifestyle and image.
House of 99 will be launched at Harvey Nichols stores in the UK from February 1, but will be made available at other major retailers and a further 19 countries around the globe, a month later.
Meanwhile, David previously admitted he didn’t have a style icon when he was younger and it is only as he has matured he has looked up to the late Steve McQueen’s fashion sense.
When asked about his fashion muse, he said: “The person I have always looked to, maybe not when I was younger because when I was younger I didn’t have someone I looked up on that side of things, but later on I would have to say someone like Steve McQueen for his fashion sense, for the way he looks, for his hair style, everything about him was cool. So, for me, he looked great in a suit, he looked great in a t-shirt, jeans, riding a bike.”

Kanye West ordered Kim Kardashian West to ditch big shades

OHMYGOSSIP — Kanye West ordered Kim Kardashian West to stop wearing big sunglasses.
The ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star – who has children North, four, and Saint, two, with her rapper husband and is also expecting a third child via surrogate – was previously known for favouring oversized shades but has more recently been seen wearing 1990s-inspired tiny frames, and she’s now admitted it was the ‘Stronger’ hitmaker who influenced her latest style decision.
Speaking on ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’, she admitted: “[Kanye] sent me a whole email like, ‘You cannot wear big glasses anymore. It’s all about tiny little glasses.’.
“He sent me like, millions of ’90s photos with tiny little glasses like this.”
The 37-year-old star is always open to taking fashion advice from her 40-year-old husband, but she was left in tears in the early days of their relationship in 2012, when he hired a stylist to go through her closet and they threw away many of her favourite garments.
She previously recalled of the fashion overhaul: “They put everything that he thought wasn’t ‘cool enough’ in a pile, and I walked in and it was like a pile to the ceiling of shoes. All my amazing shoes that I loved, and I started crying.
“I was like, ‘I can’t get rid of this stuff, your stylist has no idea what she’s talking about.’ So I put it all in another room, and I was like, ‘I’ll trust your opinion, but I’m not getting rid of my stuff. Let me see what you’re really talking about.'”
But Kim was eventually persuaded to ditch the glitter when Kanye showed her a room full of designer clothes he had got to replace what he wanted rid of.
She added: “Then I walk into my room, and there’s an entire room filled with all new clothes. All the stuff he wanted to fill back up my closet with.
“It was, like, really cool new designer stuff – I hadn’t even heard of some of these designers before. And it really helped me fall in love with fashion. I eventually did get rid of most of that stuff, and my style has evolved and changed. But I couldn’t see it at that time.”

Davina McCall: I want to become a professional trainer

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall wants to become a professional personal trainer.
The 50-year-old TV host is a keen fitness enthusiast and has revealed she wants to study for a qualification in health and fitness, which she hopes will eventually lead to her becoming a personal trainer.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, she explained: “I would like to take some classes. I want to show people that it’s never too late to start.”
The brunette beauty revealed that one of the reasons she works out is because it’s good for her mental wellbeing.
Davina has released a series of fitness DVDs during her career, and thinks staying in shape has proven to be good for her “noggin”.
The TV star shared: “Working out is good for the ‘noggin’. When it makes you feel really good, I like it. I have never finished and thought, ‘I wish I’d never done that!'”
Davina also revealed she’s had clear braces attached to her teeth and joked that it’s a sign she’s in the midst of a “mid-life crisis”.
Of her braces, Davina told presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: “Mid-life crisis! My lips are getting stuck to them.”
Meanwhile, Davina previously admitted that when she turned 35, she adopted a totally different attitude towards health and nutrition.
She said: “I really didn’t start this love of healthier food until I was in my 30s. Having children changed my life. It changed the kind of person I wanted to be. Before, I was nightclubbing, doing loads of jobs and never had time to eat anything.
“My favourite thing was packet noodles or white bread with tons of butter. At 35, I suddenly said to myself, ‘I will probably never wear shorts again.’ And I thought, ‘Why am I saying that?’ So I got a trainer and said, ‘I want to wear shorts.’ I love feeling fit; thinking nothing of running up two steps at a time.”

Victoria Beckham used to have ‘bad skin’

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham used to have “quite bad skin” when she was in the Spice Girls.
The 43-year-old designer – who has become a fashion icon and beauty guru since she left the band in 2000 – has admitted it’s taken her a long time to find out what products work for her because she used to suffer with spots when she was younger.
Speaking to Into The Gloss, she said: “‘I used to have quite bad skin when I was younger and I was constantly covering up spots and things like that.
“Luckily, I don’t have to worry too much about that anymore. Over time, you learn what works for you. And, you know, I tried some interesting looks in the Spice Girls.
“At this point, I’ve done so many photo shoots and red carpets that I’ve learned so much about my beauty style by looking back at pictures of myself.”
The brunette beauty has revealed she spends £648 on products for her everyday skincare routine, £366 on make-up, £124 on body products and £66 on hair care.
Victoria – who spends her time between the UK and the US – is often jetting back and forwards and likes to give herself a mini-facial every time she boards a long flight.
She will then cleanse her skin with Sarah Chapman’s Skinesis Stem Cell Collagen Activator in a bid to fight against the air-con on board and give her a fresh look.
Meanwhile, Victoria – who joined forces with the cosmetics giant Estée Lauder on a makeup collection in April 2016 – wears a “bucket load” of concealer.
She said recently: “I am a control freak in case you haven’t heard already.
“When I did the collaboration, I had a dining table full of cosmetics and ideas. I even had ideas about how much pigment should be used for the perfect concealer. I wear a bucket load of it.”

Kendall Jenner won’t let sh*t acne stop her

OHMYGOSSIP — Kendall Jenner will never let her “sh*t” acne stop her from doing anything.
The 22-year-old model was slammed with abuse over the weekend when some trolls poked fun at her skin after they noticed she’d tried to conceal some pesky pimples with foundation for the Golden Globes on Sunday (07.01.18) night.
But, although she’d tried to smooth out her complexion with make-up, the brunette beauty was adamant that her unfortunate breakout wasn’t going to stop her from walking down the red carpet on behalf of Vogue magazine and posing up a storm.
One fan took to Twitter to praise the ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star for “showing up and strutting her acne” on behalf of girls around the world.
She wrote: “Ok but @KendallJenner showing up and strutting her acne while looking like a gorgeous star is what every girl needs to understand (sic)”
To which Kendall replied: “never let that shit stop you!,” followed by a sun emoji.
Kendall has never been one to hide her acne as she admitted last year that she used to struggle with low self-esteem as a result of having bad skin for many years.
She said: “I had such bad acne when I was younger; I remember it SO well! Where it really impacted me was how self-conscious I became about it. It completely ruined my self-esteem. I wouldn’t even look at people when I talked to them. I felt like such an outcast; when I spoke, it was with my hand covering my face. Sure, I had crushes in high school, but I wouldn’t even think about looking at guys.”
The brunette beauty eventually sought help from her “incredible dermatologist,” who has helped her be “acne-free for about three years now.”
But Kendall still feels “a little bit self-conscious” every now and then.
She added: “Slowly, I’m working towards not caring and I’m just in so much of a better place about it all now that I’m older. I realised that it’s a part of life for some people and it doesn’t define who you are.”

The Weeknd ends partnership with retailer amid racism storm

OHMYGOSSIP — The Weeknd has ended his partnership with H&M has after one of its advertising campaigns was accused of being racist.
The high street retail firm attracted fierce criticism online after an ad featured a black child modelling a hoodie that says “coolest monkey in the jungle”, and that’s led the Canadian star to terminate his relationship with the Swedish brand.
Alongside a picture of the controversial commercial, The Weeknd – who has a clothing line with the retailer – wrote on Twitter: “woke up this morning shocked and embarrassed by this photo. i’m deeply offended and will not be working with @hm anymore… (sic)”
Meanwhile, in response to the backlash, H&M apologised to “anyone this may have offended”.
The controversial photograph featured in the children’s section of H&M’s UK site.
The hoodie is still available to buy on the company’s website, but the child no longer features in the advert.
The Swedish firm explained: “This image has now been removed from all H&M channels and we apologise to anyone this may have offended.”

The ruler of the world, an untouchable Force that can never be denied! Tinie Tempah: Sportswear is part of my DNA

OHMYGOSSIP — Tinie Tempah believes sportswear is always going to be in his “DNA”.
The 29-year-old musician – who has his own What We Wear fashion label – hails from London and has revealed he considers sportswear to be a fundamental part of his own identity.
Asked whether sportswear will get more formal in the future, Tinie explained: “Definitely. We are going to try our best to maintain the sports silhouette, but it’s always nice to have a few formal accents.
“I grew up in inner city London so sportswear is always going to be in my DNA, it’s what I know. For me, I’m trying my best, through my life experiences, to reflect the life of a young man today.
“You’re young, you’re playful, but you’ve come of age and are now in the working world – things have to be a bit more serious.”
Tinie’s new collection has been inspired by workwear, and the British star revealed he was particularly influenced employees on the Docklands Light Railway.
Asked about his style influences, Tinie told British GQ: “We were looking at guys on the DLR [Docklands Light Railway], construction workers, dinner ladies, air hostesses.
“I know it’s a menswear brand but we were looking a uniforms as a whole, and what I tended to find was that the longer someone has been in a job (the longer they have worn their uniform), the higher the chances that he or she has customised it in some way – you know, roll the sleeves up, adding patches, cut this, change that.
“That’s what I really found exciting, the wear and tear.”
Tinie explained that the influence of workwear often goes under the radar.
He reflected: “Without people realising it we live the majority of our lives in workwear.
“We’re working from about 18 to 65 years old. Most people, especially men in my experience, are defined by the job they do. If you work in fashion you kinda have to be stylish, if you’re a builder you’ve got the gloves and boots.
“So I just wanted to show that in this day and age, the circumstances we have are still the same but people are enjoying what they wear more and being more playful with it.”

Olivia Wilde’s quick beauty routine

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Wilde says the “main ingredient” in her beauty routine is “saliva”.
The ‘Tron: Legacy’ star is “super lazy” when it comes to doing her make up as she is busy juggling her family and her career and likes to keep her routine as simple as possible.
She said: “I’m a mom. I’ve got a job. I’m super lazy … I’d say the main ingredient in my make up routine is saliva. I don’t really use brushes, I just use my fingers, because I have them with me at all times.”
And the 33-year-old actress – who has Otis, three, and 14-month-old Daisy, with her partner Jason Sudeikis – looked up to model Kate Moss when she was younger but admits it left her without any eyebrows as she tweezed them all off and it never grew back.
She told Vogue magazine: “I, like many people in the ’90s, really wanted to have Kate Moss’s eyebrows. So I tweezed off all of mine and they never came back. But it’s okay, because we can fake it.”
Meanwhile, Olivia previously admitted she changed her beauty products when she was pregnant with her children.
She said: “Since having kids, my relationship to health and beauty has become much more thoughtful. I used to slather anything on my skin and not care what it was made out of. I’ve always loved the decadence of beauty products, but at the point when I first started having children – when I was suddenly responsible for another living being – I became conscious of what I was putting on and in my body. I wish we would be more conscious when it’s just for ourselves.”

Meghan Markle really looks after her skin

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle “really looks after” her skin.
The ‘Suits’ actress – who is set to marry Prince Harry later this year – has the “most amazing skin”, according to her facialist Nichola Joss.
Nichola said: “Meghan has the most amazing skin. She really looks after herself, and I think it shows.”
And in the run up to Meghan’s wedding, Nichola has been sharing her beauty tips for brides to be.
She added: “If you have troublesome skin, and you need some corrective work, like if you have acne or scarring, you need to start working on a routine at least four or five months before the big day, seeing your facialist every two weeks to get your skin in the best condition you can. You can eventually cut it down to every three weeks, but you should still be getting regular massages between those appointments.
“You want to start getting regular massages from the beginning of your skincare journey, since it not only helps remove the tension in the face, but it also really helps improve the texture of when you massage with a good, clean facial oil.”
And Nichola advises brides to be not to have any abrasive treatments right before the big day.
She told Marie Claire magazine: “Anything corrective, like acid peels, intense microdermabrasion, or laser treatments, should be done between three-to-five months before the wedding, but not closer. The last two months before your wedding should be focused on getting calmer, more hydrated skin, rather than getting more aggressive with your face, since corrective treatments can require a ton of downtime and healing.”

Agyness Deyn: There’s no chance I’ll go back to modelling

OHMYGOSSIP — Agyness Deyn says there is “no chance” she’d swap acting for modelling.
The 34-year-old star decided to ditch the runway for film sets and has never regretted the move.
Asked if she’d swap acting for fashion, she told Radio Times magazine: “No chance. Doing this [the show ‘Hard Sun’] is so physical, and so exhausting, but it’s so alive. I’m living the whole character, the whole skin of Renko. That’s what’s exciting.”
It comes after Agyness admitted modelling “never felt like reality” to her.
She shared: “When I stopped modelling, everyone was like, ‘Are you f***ing crazy?’ I wanted to differentiate what I wanted to do. It wasn’t about money and it wasn’t about profile, it was about fulfilment and learning something and being afraid and getting excited.
“The thing about being a model is, you can’t change the way you look. So then you just have to work hard, show up on time, look healthy, not have been out all night, not be a t*** and be nice – but there are so many other variables to being an actor. The way you look is one part but there’s your innate soul quality plus the creative embellishment on top. You just follow your instincts and put the pieces together. It enables you to be a real person and modelling never felt like reality.”
And Agyness now looks back on her years in the business with fondness.
She added: “I did have a quiet start, but I learnt so much about the craft and myself. My mum always said, you can walk away from anything and feel OK if you’ve put in 1,000 per cent. If I prepare and learn and listen and watch and be this sponge, it might be OK. So far, so good.”

Emma Stone makes beauty statement

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Stone used her make-up to make a statement for Time’s Up on the Golden Globes red carpet.
The ‘Battle of the Sexes’ actress joined the majority of attendees at Sunday’s ceremony in wearing black in solidarity for the anti-harassment movement at Sunday’s (07.01.18) ceremony at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills but her make-up team took the message one step further by choosing green and white eye shadows and violet on her lips, shades worn by 19th century feminists.
Make-up artist Rachel Goodwin explained to PeopleStyle: “Once I heard about the idea of women coming together and wearing black to the ceremony, and the message behind it, my friend Arianne [Phillips] designing the Time’s Up pin and what the message is, I wanted the makeup to have a message as well.
“I thought, red lipstick was a color suffragettes wore, so I did more research and found that they also wore very specific, symbolic sashes, pins, petticoats and all these things in purple, emerald green and white when they were fighting for the right to vote.
“I wanted to give the beauty look that had more meaning to me that was far beyond mascara and lipstick.”
Rachel felt the Golden Globes red carpet had much more gravitas than usual so that was important in her work.
She said: “Any other red carpet there’s a sense of levity and light and kind of frivolity.
“At the end of the day the woman needs to feel beautiful, but this one was really different because it did feel more meaningful. I wanted it to be a statement, still make her feel beautiful, but this night had a bigger meaning, and this was a different way of approaching it.”
And when it came to Emma’s hair, stylist Mara Roszak felt it was important for her look to match the “elegance” of her lace Louis Vuitton gown, as well as keeping things authentic to the 29-year-old star’s true self.
She said: “Emma is so authentic in every way and in everything she does. I always want her to feel like herself.
“And I want women to feel like themselves when I’m working with them. I want them to feel confident and for the look to represent who they are and I think now more than ever, that’s necessary.
“I don’t think women need to be told how they should look.”

Naomi Campbell remembers being saved by ‘papa’ Azzedine Alaia

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Campbell has paid tribute to “papa” Azzedine Alaia’s influence and heroics – including the moment he saved her in Paris.
The 47-year-old model – who described the late fashion icon as the father figure she never had after her biological dad abandoned her mother during pregnancy – recalled the terrifying moment she was targeted in the French capital five years ago.
Reflecting on how scared she was as a tall man attempted to wrestle her bag away from her after threatening to take her life, she told Vogue: “Papa comes out. The guy’s this tall, there’s a getaway bike for him, he’s out there trying to fight him off for me.
“He could’ve been hurt, he didn’t care. He went there to project me. He saved me. He was my papa.”
Supermodel Naomi described their journey together as “very blessed”, and candidly spoke of how Azzedine – who passed away in November aged 77 – was there for her in a way her biological father never was.
She added: “He did the things that my father, who I never met until I was 41 for five months, didn’t do. Took me to the dentist, took me to museums, taught me about art, taught me about food, culture. I don’t think I’ll ever have that again. I definitely lived a very blessed journey with Azzedine.”
The catwalk star also revealed that he taught her to not put too much pressure on herself, and to avoid getting burned out.
Asked what quality he left her with, she smiled: “You don’t have to do everything. You don’t have to run yourself ragged. You don’t have to be there for everyone, you don’t have to burn yourself out. You just need to make sure you pick the right one.”
