Ariane Labed named the face of new Chloé fragrance

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariane Labed has been named the face of the upcoming Chloé fragrance.
The 33-year-old actress – who was born and raised in Greece – has been chosen by the luxurious brand to front its new campaign and Ariane has admitted to being inspired by her on-camera persona.
Of the new campaign, she said: “The woman depicted in this new campaign is free-spirited, strong and adventurous.
“She takes on the world, its beauty and is curious about everything it has to offer. In that sense she is very inspiring to me.”
Geoffroy de la Bourdonnaye, the chief executive officer of Chloé, has hailed the talented actress – who has starred in movies such as ‘Assassin’s Creed’ and ‘The Lobster’ – and believes her multicultural background makes her the perfect candidate for the role.
He explained: “Ariane combines different cultures and displays multiple talents. She loves to cross new frontiers and encounter the world.”
Meanwhile, Ariane previously admitted she loves the challenge of working in different countries and different languages as an actress.
She shared: “For me it’s great as an actress to do many different things.
“I’m French but I studied to do cinema in Greece, now I’m doing films in France but I live in the UK, I did a film called ‘Assassin’s Creed’, it’s an adaptation of the video game.”
Despite this, she explained that the challenge for her as an actress is always broadly the same.
Ariane said: “In the end, it’s always the same.
“You have to be in front of the camera and kind of be naked and lost and excited about it, how big or small the crew is, whatever the scale of the film is, it’s the same job we do and I love it.”

Penelope Cruz: I felt a responsibility playing Donatella Versace

OHMYGOSSIP — Penelope Cruz felt a “responsibility” playing Donatella Versace in ‘The Assassination of Gianni Versace’.
The Academy Award-winning actress stars as the Italian fashion designer in the Ryan Murphy TV series, and she’s admitted to harbouring nerves about playing the icon.
Penelope said: “You feel much more responsibility [playing a real person].
“When Ryan called me … I said ‘I need to make [a] phone call and talk to Donatella about this’ before taking the job.”
And Penelope admitted she only felt comfortable accepting the role on the show – which explores the murder of designer Gianni Versace, Donatella’s brother – after she’d spoken to her.
During an appearance on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, Penelope shared: “She told me if somebody was going to do it, she was really happy that it was me, because she I think she knows what I feel for her and Gianni.”
The Spanish beauty was also keen to stress how significant the role is to her.
She explained: “They’re the most kind people. It’s important to me that when she sees what I’ve done she can feel the love and respect that I have put there [and] how I feel for her.”
However, Donatella – who serves as the artistic director and vice-president of the world-famous fashion house – previously described the show as a “work of fiction”.
She revealed, too, that it “still hurts” to see Gianni – who was murdered in Florida in 1997 – depicted in an inaccurate way.
Donatella said earlier this month: “I haven’t seen (the series) nor will I see it, because after all this time it still hurts to see Gianni represented untruthfully.”

Mother of race row child recalls racist abuse

OHMYGOSSIP — The mother of the child model at the centre of the H&M race row says she’s previously been the victim of racist abuse.
Terry Mango – whose son Liam starred in a controversial commercial that saw him wear a jumper emblazoned with the words “coolest monkey in the jungle” – has waded into the debate, saying that the incident involving her son doesn’t chime with her own definition of racism.
She explained: “It is not an overreaction when it comes to racism, everybody should act differently based on their own opinions about what racism is. I know what racism is. I’ve been at the front, I’ve had racist remarks directed to me first hand.
“Even the name monkey … I’ve been called monkey before on a cruise ship and my reaction was the same as the world is reacting to me right now. But to put the T-shirt and the word monkey with the word racism, maybe that is not my way of looking at it.”
H&M withdrew the controversial ad from its website following a string of complaints from consumers and celebrities, such as The Weeknd, who announced he was ending his relationship with the fashion brand.
Alongside a picture of the controversial commercial, The Weeknd – who has a clothing line with the retailer – wrote on Twitter: “woke up this morning shocked and embarrassed by this photo. i’m deeply offended and will not be working with @hm anymore… (sic)”
However, Terry has suggested that the public has looked into the commercial too deeply.
Speaking to ITV’s ‘This Morning’, she shared: “I’m just looking at Liam, a black young boy modelling a T-shirt that has the word monkey on it. Eveyone should respect different opinions on racism.”

Noah Cyrus puts comfort first

OHMYGOSSIP — Noah Cyrus favours comfort over style.
The 18-year-old singer doesn’t feel confident if she isn’t happy with what she’s wearing or she’s worried what she looks like, so she prefers to opt for “street-inspired” garments.
She said: “I like baggy clothes, or like an oversized hoodie with over-the-knee boots. Anything like that. I think it’s a little more of like a street-inspired style for me.
“For stage, I take it a little bit up a level. That’s when I am most comfortable and for me it’s all about being comfortable with yourself. I think for anybody, not even when you’re on stage, it’s good to dress in the way that you’re comfortable, it definitely boosts your confidence.
“If you’re worried about what you look like the whole time, you’re not going to be able to be confident.”
Noah thinks it’s “amazing” she’s considered a role model for other teenagers and she hopes she can help them feel more confident.
She told Miss Vogue: “It’s amazing [to be considered a role model].
“There are so many young women in their early teens struggling with confidence, and at that time, I had a hard time with the way I looked and the way I felt about my body.
“So, for me, I want to help them with that, and I want to help them with body confidence. I want to help other women grow as a person because that’s what I am doing too.
“I kind of had to grow up a little faster and I feel like I can use that for good and help people a little earlier on with confidence.”

Dita Von Teese will embrace grey

OHMYGOSSIP — Dita Von Teese plans to embrace her grey hair.
The 45-year-old burlesque star colours her locks from her natural blonde to jet black every few weeks, but now her silver tresses are starting to come through, she’s thinking ahead to when she can ditch the dye for good.
Asked if she can see a day when she’ll embrace the grey, she said: “Oh definitely.
“Every two weeks, when I pull out that box of black dye, I’m like, ‘God, wouldn’t it be great to not be doing this?’ But be careful what you wish for, right?”
Though her burlesque shows are still hugely popular, Dita admitted she considered retiring two years ago before realising she wants to be an “example” for older women.
She told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “I had a lot of pressure from my former producing partner. Every night I’d come offstage and she’d be like, ‘Oh, you didn’t look so good right there… Can we cover up this? You need to really suck it in…’
“I was thinking, ‘Oh God, maybe I should quit before people start seeing all the flaws that could arise from the ageing process. It was starting to get to me.
“[But] it occurred to me that there are all these women who are older that I admire, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Madonna, and they are all out there still.
“It has meaning for me to watch them go through different phases of life and still embrace their sexuality and sensuality.
“I need to be an example as well. I love performing burlesque, people still want to see me do it.”

Ashley Graham: My career has come full circle

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Graham feels like her career has come “full circle”.
The 30-year-old model started her time in the business as a teenage lingerie model and Ashley now finds herself in the same position in her adult life, having overcome a series of challenges en route.
She shared: “My career has come full circle. My first job was modelling lingerie when I was 13. My mom had to sign a waiver to airbrush out my nipples!”
The brunette beauty is now one of the most sought-after models in the industry, and also stars on ‘America’s Next Top Model’.
Despite this, Ashley considers involving herself in the design process to be one of the most enjoyable parts of her job.
She told Us Weekly: “Designing is one of my favourite parts of my job. I’ve designed 17 lingerie collections with Addition Elle and four swimsuit collections with Swimsuits for All – and I just launched a denim capsule collection with Marina Rinaldi.”
Meanwhile, Ashley previously revealed she thinks the term ‘plus size’ is “divisive”.
The model explained that she hates using the expression because she feels it is putting all women of that size and shape into one category.
Ashley – who has previously appeared in Sports Illustrated magazine – said: “I think the word ‘plus-size’ is so divisive to women.
“I think that when you use the word ‘plus-size’ you’re putting all these women into a category, ‘You don’t eat well.’ ‘You don’t work out’. ‘You could care less about your body.’ ‘You’re insecure.’ ‘You have no confidence.'”

Alison Brie addicted to strength

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison Brie is “addicted to strength”.
The ‘Glow’ actress has changed her training regime since landing her role in the wrestling drama series and her workouts have made her think more about how her body works than how she looks.
She said: “Weights that I can’t physically put on the thing [bar], I can lift with my legs and butt. I can do pull-ups!
“I was always into exercising to be skinny, which can become a very unhealthy compulsion. Training for ‘Glow’ I got addicted to strength. Learning how to wrestle you have to protect your partner and yourself, so I stopped thinking about how I looked and focused on how my body worked.”
The 35-year-old actress admitted her role in ‘Glow’ is the “job of a lifetime” and she finds it very “empowering”.
She told the Observer magazine: “It blew my goddamn mind. It’s the job of a lifetime. Truly every day I think, ‘How did this happen? How did I find this show?’
“It’s so fulfilling, so empowering. And I can f***ing wrestle. I can wrestle even better this year than I could last year. What a weird thing!”
The ‘Post’ star – who is married to Dave Franco – is relieved she doesn’t feel any pressure to be the “hot young thing” and can make fulfilling career choices.
She said: “I do think when I was younger there was so much pressure to be the ‘hot young thing’ – that was how you were going to get a job. I don’t feel that way any more.”

Karrueche Tran’s minimal make-up

OHMYGOSSIP — Karrueche Tran is adopting a “less is more” attitude to beauty.
The 29-year-old actress doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with people taking a “heavy” approach to make-up application, but she wants people to know it’s OK to use minimal cosmetics and still look and feel good.
She told PopSugar: “I’m really trying to enforce using less make-up.
“I think there’s a lot of, what I consider, Instagram make-up around — heavy contouring and highlighting — and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
“But I also want to remind people that you can wear a little make-up and still look beautiful.”
Karrueche has a clear complexion and admitted it is because she’s recently started using serums and can already see and feel a difference.
She said: “I’ve recently learned the importance of serums in my skincare routine; there’s a Chanel serum that I’ve been using, and I’ve gotten a lot of compliments ever since.”
And the ‘Honored’ star wants to try out a vampire facial – where a small amount of a user’s blood is extracted from the arm and then the plasma separated and splattered onto the face – though she’s a little bit squeamish.
She said of the treatment: “It seems interesting, but the sight of blood also freaks me out! I’ve heard amazing things about it, though, so one of these days I can muster up the courage to do it.”
Karrueche recently revealed she has to take measures to reduce her “puffy eyes” every day.
She said: “I love anything Peter Thomas Roth for masks, and I get puffy eyes sometimes so I use his cucumber eye mask.
” Because I get puffy eyes — that’s my main issue that I care about the most — so I keep two frozen spoons in the freezer and before I go on set or start my day, when I’ve washed my face and before my moisturiser, I take the spoons around my eyes for a little bit of tightening. I don’t know if it really makes a difference, but I feel like it works because I feel fresh.”

Mother downplays retailer racism row

OHMYGOSSIP — The mother of the child at the centre of the H&M race storm says the furore was “unnecessary”.
Terry Mango – who hails from Stockholm in Sweden – has reacted to the recent controversy, which stemmed from the retailer posting an ad featuring her five-year-old son wearing a jumper that says “coolest monkey in the jungle”.
Terry has taken to Facebook to address the situation, writing: “Am the mum and this is one of hundreds of outfits my son has modelled… stop crying wolf all the time, unnecessary issue here… get over it (sic)”
In fact, Terry explained that she “really doesn’t understand” the fuss that has erupted over the ad.
She continued: “Not coz am choosing not to but because it’s not my way of thinking sorry (sic)”
Later, Terry said: “Everyone is entitled to their opinion.”
By contrast, The Weeknd has ended his partnership with H&M due to the controversial ad.
Alongside a picture of the controversial commercial, The Weeknd – who has a clothing line with the retailer – wrote on Twitter: “woke up this morning shocked and embarrassed by this photo. i’m deeply offended and will not be working with @hm anymore… (sic)”
Meanwhile, in response to the backlash, H&M apologised to “anyone this may have offended”.
The controversial photograph featured in the children’s section of H&M’s UK site, but the image of the child no longer features in the campaign.
The Swedish firm explained: “This image has now been removed from all H&M channels and we apologise to anyone this may have offended.”

Lottie Moss reveals her career ambition

OHMYGOSSIP — Lottie Moss is determined to succeed on her own merits.
The 20-year-old model is the half-sister of fashion icon Kate Moss – but Lottie is intent on stepping out of her shadow and becoming a force herself.
She said: “She’s amazing so it’s great to be related to her but I want to be my own person.
“I want to do my own thing … I want to make my own mistakes.”
In 2017, Lottie was invited by fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld to become the face of Chanel’s eyewear range.
The blonde beauty would love to be invited back to appear in future campaigns, but she also has other ambitions she would love to achieve.
She told the Metro newspaper: “Another Chanel campaign would be great. And I’d love to do Vogue.”
But Lottie insisted that her burgeoning career isn’t as glamorous as some outsiders may think.
She shared: “I’ve been at the top of the Sussex Downs in a dress and heels.
“It was in November and they were like, ‘Act not cold!’ I can’t.”
Meanwhile, Lottie previously admitted that her modelling career is “a bit of a blur”.
Lottie was scouted at the age of 13 years old, and though she felt she embarked on a career in the fashion business “so young”, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
She said: “Everything just kind of happened. It is all a bit of a blur for me as I was so young.
“I know I was young but I feel like you only get one shot and you just have to take it.
“If I looked back and I hadn’t done it, I would be like, ‘Why didn’t I do it?'”

Kendall Jenner wants solo clothing range

OHMYGOSSIP — Kendall Jenner wants a standalone fashion line of her own.
The 22-year-old model has partnered with her younger sister Kendall + Kylie in a collaborative range since 2016, and though she has “fun” working with her sister, the brunette beauty would also like to create a serious collection herself.
She said: “Kylie and I have our little brand that we do together, and actually have a fun time doing it, but I would love to branch off and do something a little more serious and really sit down and test my brain and play with it a little bit.”
The ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star also confessed to a passion for interior design and revealed she has learned a lot from Kanye West, who is married to her half-sister Kim Kardashian West.
She said: “Most people don’t know this about me, but I have a real love for interior design. I’ve been working with a designer named Martyn Bullard who’s really awesome and who kind of made me fall in love with art.
“Kanye has also been a huge influence. He’s really, really into art and has the sickest pieces in his house.”
Despite being a huge sensation on social media, Kendall insists sites such as Instagram haven’t made her career any easier and she has to work just as hard as anyone else.
Speaking to her friend Cara Delevingne in an interview for the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine, she said: “I’ve actually talked about it with a couple of women, like Cindy Crawford, who have been doing this for a long time. I feel like social media obviously has a lot to do with how it’s different.
“A lot of people are like, ‘Oh, it’s so much easier now because you have Instagram. You don’t even need an agency anymore.’
” But that’s just not true. I still had to go to all the castings, I still had to go meet all the photographers, I still had to do all of that to get to where I am now.
“There wasn’t a step taken out just because I had social media. I still have 12-hour days, I still have even 24-hour days sometimes; I still have to do all those things.
“We don’t work any less hard than the ’90s models did when they were young.”

Jessica Biel’s modern classic hair

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Biel channelled Jessica Rabbit at the Critics’ Choice Awards.
The ‘Sinner’ actress had her hair styled into a “big magic wave” on the blue carpet at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica on Thursday (11.01.18), and her hairdresser Adir Abergel thinks her look is one which the ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit?’ animates character would have sported if she’d travelled into the future.
Adir told E! News: “[Jessica’s hair] had one big magic wave with a smooth finish toward the bottom.
“It was modern version of a classic style.”
The 35-year-old actress – who has two-year-old son Silas with husband Justin Timberlake – sported a sheer gown from Oscar de la Renta’s spring 2018 collection which featured black tulle with ruby and bonded laser-cut leather, and Adir was keen to mimic the sheen of the leather patches when doing his famous client’s hair.
He explained: “I wanted something classic, kind of playful and more polished.”
The hairstylist, who is the co-founder of Virtue, used his company’s own Uplifted Volumising Whip on Jessica’s roots, as well as an anti-frizz cream from mid-shaft to ends to create the polished texture.
He then blowdried her locks with a round brush and, after creating a deep side parting, he used curling tongs to create thick barrel curls, which were pinned into place.
After that, Jessica was given some time out of his chair as Adir insisted it was important to “let it cool” before he backcombed her roots, then brushed out her locks and applied a hairspray to hold and serum for shine.
He said: “It’s a luxurious, glorious mane that everyone wants right now.”

Gigi Hadid says working with Kate Moss was a ‘pleasure’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gigi Hadid says it was a “pleasure” to work with Kate Moss on the new Stuart Weitzman campaign.
The 22-year-old model joined forces with the British icon to shoot promotional shots for the London-based shoe brand, and has been reflecting on the experience on her Instagram account.
The blonde beauty posted a picture of the world-famous duo on the shoot and captioned the black-and-white image: “I had the great honor and pleasure of shooting the new @stuartweitzman campaign with the one and only Kate. @katemossagency , I had the greatest time with you, and am forever touched by your spirit and presence. I am beyond proud to be part of the SW family with you and our beloved @mariotestino @sarajanehoare @giovannimorelli8 @sduff20 ss18 campaign out soon ! #inourshoes (sic)”
Meanwhile, Gigi previously admitted that her jet-setting lifestyle has led her to lose lots of friends.
The Los Angeles-born star confessed that because she spends so little time at home, her career has caused her to lose touch with some of her pals.
She shared: “There are people who understand that I love them and who know that when I get back to town I’m going to call them, but sometimes I can’t call every day because I’m in weird places.
“I’ve lost a lot of friends because I’ll get busy for a short period of time, and they’re not reaching out, but if I don’t reach out, then it’s like I’ve changed.”
However, one person she’s always remained close to is her beloved sister and fellow model Bella Hadid.
Of their relationship, Gigi explained: “She’s so understanding of the demands of this job, and it’s really great that I can talk to her about it.
“Because a lot of the time I feel suffocated by my own work ethic and by the expectations I put on myself. It’s really nice when you have people who say, ‘It’s okay to take time for yourself.'”

Emily Ratajkowski amends Instagram post after online backlash

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Ratajkowski has edited an Instagram post following an online backlash.
The 26-year-old beauty performed a U-turn on a post about the haircare brand Kérastase, after her original message was widely criticised by her Instagram followers.
Alongside a glamorous shot of herself, Emily originally wrote: “Hair is a fundamental part of beauty, femininity, and identity. So excited to announce that I am the new face of @kerastase_official!
“Welcome good hair days! Shot by @inezandvinoodh #Kerastase #KerastaseClub #sponsored. (sic)”
But her remarks led to criticism from some of her followers, who branded the brunette beauty “ignorant” and “insensitive”.
One user wrote: “Are you for real @emrata my best friend @zconers has endured chemotherapy radiotherapy and a stem cell transplant and lost every last hair on head yet it was the most beautiful I have ever seen her!? (sic)”
Another wrote: “Pretty sure all the girls and women that have lost their hair are still just as beautiful. I used to be a big fan of you, but this is just shallow. Unfollowed. (sic)”
And Emily subsequently amended her original post, suggesting she’d heeded the comments of her followers.
The edited post reads: “So excited to announce that I am the new face of @kerastase_official ! Welcome good hair days! Shot by @inezandvinoodh #Kerastase #KerastaseClub #sponsored. (sic)”
Meanwhile, Emily recently admitted she thinks it’s important to be controversial.
The London-born star revealed she would rather be criticised for her opinions than not “stand for anything”.
Emily explained: “I think if you don’t have haters or if you’re not somewhat controversial, then you’re not standing for anything in general and that’s something I think about a lot.
“So I’d rather be p***ing people off than just everyone liking me.”

Alexis Ren: I struggled to form friendships during chilldhood

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexis Ren struggled to make friends as a child.
The 21-year-old model has admitted she found it tough to form friendships during her childhood because she was homeschooled – and for that reason, Alexis is amazed she now has so many followers on social media.
The American beauty – who is followed by 11.6 million Instagram users – wrote on the photo-sharing website: “i was homeschooled my entire life so I didn’t have many friends and grew up shy and introverted. who would’ve known 11 million people would end up following my life (sic)”
Alexis has emerged as one of the world’s most recognisable models over the last few years.
And the outgoing star previously claimed that her self-confidence and sex appeal are the keys to her online popularity.
Alexis – who regularly posts eye-catching snaps on social media – explained: “Confidence is what people tend to gravitate toward, and also, obviously, sex. I don’t consider that a bad thing, though.
“If a woman likes to post about her body, that doesn’t make her a slut, desperate, or dumb. It still blows my mind we are stuck in that perception of womanhood.”
Alexis also claimed that her personal happiness is linked to how candid she is with her social media following.
She shared: “I’m stronger, happier, and healthier than I’ve ever been … In the last six months I’ve opened up to my followers about my struggles in my day-to-day. I think being vulnerable to other humans is a form of strength.”
